The thought process that comes up for me: men admit they will say yes to anyone so how can I truly trust they would have ‘picked me’. I know women who have done it. It’s often mid thirties career women who starts stressing about biological clock. I think they don’t really see it as ideal but I think some of them might not be suited to LTR living. They are too comfortable on their own but they don’t want to miss out on the part of life. At least one older mother in this situation has confided to me she regretted her priorities in life and wishes she had found a partner (she’s an older female doctor).

I feel awful to reject someone so it can be very awkward. I have had bad experiences when I didn’t cut the friendship such as threats of self harm or inappropriate contacting my place of work for example so I would be a bit paranoid to continue a friendship if we were both single. Being in a LTR actually gives me freedom to have low stakes male friendships since they don’t see me as an option LOL.

I agree, but the careful revealing of weakness can be the pathway to healing/healed trauma. If romantic partner doesn’t feel safe then somebody else or even journaling. Self acceptance is the pathway to ‘invulnerability’ and fully seeing the weakness is the pathway to acceptance. IMO Not everyone has trauma to heal, so they can skip that step I guess.

This is completely subjective but, I don’t like the appearance of a lot of beauty trends. Like the look of microbladed brows for example or foundation that makes skin wrinkle and flat. You have to spend so much, commit to a whole routine, all to look slightly different. I guess worth it if you like the outcome. I like the look of blush, lips, mascara, teeth whitening and other pretty simple stuff. I don’t have wrinkles though and Botox does actually make people look younger so I’d consider that.

That’s probably true. But also plenty of women that would be happy to be dependant, maybe for a temporary time to have kids for example, can’t afford to go to one income. Where I live it’s mostly because of the cost of housing

Is your need for people who care about you and see you exclusive to romantic relationships? Some of these things are hard to achieve in the dating world especially on apps and first dates etc but a friend can do some of these things if dating isn’t really working out for you. I think you might be on to something honestly. I disagree with false-purple, IMO I feel like most men are overall less into the dom/sub power dynamic thing. Can be disappointing as a woman lol. I suspect the difference is that compared to men the visuals and even sensations of sex can be less exciting for women by themselves. Especially when we know our bodies far better than the bedroom partner. We enjoy the rise in our power of being ‘picked/taken’ etc by a higher status man and maybe the narc…
