I think a lot of us are dealing with the same issues. Did you see last weeks OYS - I linked a thread from 5 years ago that could've been written for us all this week. HoA on Cuddles also links through to many OYS comments of the same. The patterns just repeat here over the years. Anger... Redirect all that energy into the gym, sorting out your household, being a better dad and doing the shit only you can do in business. Use that energy to build momentum for you, so that you become unstoppable. I…

On fighting with your wife. You have the tools at your disposal: - STFU, DGAF and find amusement in the toddler (your wife) throwing a tantrum. The "Daddy" frame has helped me immensely with this. - Fogging. I know you are re-reading the book. Yes it's a hard read. Listen to it on Audible, it's a good listen. - Find validation in your own achievements. How seriously are you taking your lifting? Are you tracking macros? On reading. You've read a bunch of books but are you internalising the conten…

What about actually communicating this to your woman? There's got to be a fine line here between STFU and tactful game. And could easily become a retard Rambo move. From Rollo:: She must be reminded daily why you’re fun, unpredictable, and exciting, not only to her but to other women. This requires covertly, tactfully, and demonstrably implying that other women find you desirable. Women crave the chemical rush that comes from suspicion and indignation.

This all seems very BP on the surface. Maybe to the 25yo TRPer saying "next". To me this reads like a man owning his shit. By far your best OYS yet.

Perfect week to implement this. It's shark week and as such I fully expect nothing! That's why this Daddy frame is hitting with alot of you guys.... because it reframes WHAT and WHY you are giving these things. This is so true and has been so useful to me in "rewiring my brain" around MRP. It's all in the mindset. Side note on mindset: reading Rational Male this time around the receptors in my brain are all lighting up. The first time I read it I missed it all! Thanks for taking the time Horns. …

Relationship Yep. Replying to my own post. Because I just sat down to read Rollo and opened up my kindle to The Desire Dynamic Half of the battle is knowing you want to be with a woman who wants to please you, not one who feels obligated to. You will never draw this genuine desire from her by overt means, but you can covertly lead her to this genuine desire. The trick in provoking real desire is in keeping her ignorant of your intent to provoke it. Real desire is created by her thinking it’s som…

Encouraging comment, even though it feels far off. I'll stick with the basics even though I feel compelled to open my mouth overtly. Deep down I do hope it's my wife who brings me tea and not another woman.

Thank you, this is good shit. I'm trying to reconcile this with the idea that a man should seek validation internally, in his own actions/achievements, and in doing so replaces the need for external validation. I think it's all here somewhere. I'm an Alan Watts fan too.

Man I love lifting, but I've hit a couple of roadblocks. 1) I can do multiple sets of my 5RM but I haven't added weight to the bar in a few weeks. Yo! I only just saw this reply as I was prepping for this week's OYS. Thank you, particularly for this bit: How were you needy here? Did you the STFU after the hard no and provide space/push? Then that’s the beauty of STFU no one is the wiser. It’s okay to feel those feelings, but not acting on them is reinforcing pathways in which you don’t ACT needy. Fuck me, you're right. I felt needy. Tricky question, maybe why I glossed over it last week. I wasn't sure if I should take this as homework or attempt a response, but here goes... In the context of MRP, I would say I measure success by my thoughts, actions and behaviors, and whether they are in line with what I have learned here. It's a moving target because every week I am learning new things. If I learn something new and implement it (progress) I would say that is success. A couple of months ago I could not see my neediness or c…

Great reply from rhyme. When I read your OYS my first thought was that you are getting soft nos / LMR and an invitation to lead your woman by pushing through those. If you get a hard no, it's cool. But I would guess that if you had pushed through you would have had success in at least one of your initiations. What has worked for me is leading with action (no talking). That is, initiate hard. Grab her and pull her in, kiss her hard. She'll either submit or you'll get a hard no.

Taking the dentist example, in the past I would have simply left it all to the wife. Not even been engaged. I believe this is abdicating because I am offering no guidance, no engagement. Delegating I believe is to be engaged and provide guidance if required. This could apply to many things for me -- booking a holiday, renovating a house, organizing dinner, even going on a date night. I have been dis-engaged with all of this stuff. Purely focused on building a business, which has had it's financi…

Dude, I really don't know anymore (and I have no idea where you're going with this). Up until recently I would say two factors: 1) Meeting my goals 2) Performance in comparison to others Examples: A) I've met my goals in business and compared to most of my peers I am successful. But it's all relative. I know some elite guys doing 10x what I'm doing. A completely different level. Boring said something to me a while ago along the lines of "You might be good at what you do but you are not great". B…

FWIW, my take on it is that I am presenting a changed/improved version of myself. Version 2.0. My woman looks at me and thinks - Is this really him? Has he actually changed? Or is this just more bullshit, some temporary thing he's read in a book. And so whether consciously or unconsciously, she is going to challenge and test version 2.0. If anything to protect herself.

Is it because you need to get your rocks off so bad or are you needing validation through sex? When rejected from being horny, guys tend to drop down to the next available thing; her touch. You still want to be close and keep your dick as close to her body as possible because attraction lingers. When rejected from validation through sex, men respond with deep self loathing and sulking anger. I don't know. I've been sitting on this for a couple of weeks (mentioned last week also). I think what ha…

It's true because for any of us noobs MRP can be a trap, becoming a covert contract aka dancing monkey attraction improvement program. This was a thing for me a couple of months ago and yes, I was completely blind to it at the time. see here and here As my own judge I believe I've moved on from this and am no longer operating with this mindset. Because this frame, Daddy, is the best version of me. The challenge (per my OYS) is to maintain this frame, unwavering. And in doing so, become the Oak.

Chill the fuck out, right? I know. That's the theme of my FR - when I finally relaxed and no longer gave a fuck, I fell back into my frame. Sexual success aside, I felt so much better, felt liberated, once I got over my own bullshit and emotions. Don't talk down about yourself Valid point, consider though: 1) I am being a tough judge 2) I'm having an element of fun with this. Yes it's serious but you got to be able to laugh at yourself every now and then.

For years I would say shit to my wife like - you should go to the gym, you should go for a run, etc. She never did any of it. All this critical talk just led to resentment. It's unattractive, worked against me. When I seriously started lifting, within a couple of months, my wife was doing more exercise - going to the gym, running, playing tennis - now she's pretty much doing one of those activities every single day, sometimes twice a day and she's literally in the best shape I've ever seen her. …

Okay, I'm going to have a crack at this without referencing any material. Like the teacher is putting me on the spot in the classroom. Frame comes from 1) having my own worldview 2) knowing what I want and being unapologetic about pursuing that and 3) being unaffected by the world around me, particularly in relation to the first two points. I visualised this as literally being a metal frame around me where, as I pursue what I want in my worldview, anything on the outside the frame that presents …

as I continue going to the gym I'm going to start verbally encouraging her to join me or do something to focus hard on getting in shape herself. In my experience: 1) that will lead to resentment 2) if you go lift, improve your physique, your wife will follow, no talking necessary

Did she earn the shoulder rub? Did you genuinely want to do it no strings attached? This used to be a huge covert contract for me and my wife could see straight through it. I give it away for free now, no expectations. I had to break the association by giving a massage and then NOT initiating. How many counts of "she" is in your FRs? What do you think the count means? I used to do a lot of cardio but not in the last year. I'll start to bring it back and it will be a relief not to be eating such a sickening amount of food all the time. Once you find the self actualization and realize that fucking your wife “GOOD” is actually a gift from you to her, you won’t be angry anymore Ah ha, I've read a lot about "giving your gift" and the specificity of your comment just made it click. Thanks for that little nugget of wisdom, I will remember that. Finances, I read that entire thread you linked. I've certainly let it slip on the household front (business is a tight ship though). I used to budget but have been focused on increasing income, which has gone up significantly, but so has spending. I should care more about the spending but I don't. Ok, I've read the books, the posts on frame. I can comprehend the theory but as evidenced by my FRs, the way I think and act is still heavily influenced by my conditioning over the last 30+ years, rather than those books/posts. A man with frame would be amused by the words and actions of the respective women in the two FRs. Whereas I am still a) reactive; and b) consumed thereafter by it as you point out in your comment, "internal chatter".

Alcohol. For years I struggled. A couple each night and many on the weekend. Last year I did 3 months off and it completely changed my relationship with it. Now I commonly go a fortnight without drinking and when I do drink it's limited and is social (rather than drinking alone at home). Personally I understood the theory of why I should not drink. But I only internalized this after a few months of not drinking.

FR - Have I been missing shit tests?? Friday night I get home, I’ve organised and picked up dinner for the kids. Wife is heading out for dinner with her family. I’m invited but have declined. I have not been physically or verbally needy at all this week. Wednesday morning is my gym rest day so I initiated, successfully. Other than that I’ve been out the door at 6am and home 6pm and not offered anything verbally or physically. So Friday I get home and she’s talking at me, blah, blah, blah and I g…

Try this.... heavy lifting + no porn, no jerking off + no drinking/drugs + good sleep + eating right, dialing in macros.

The inside joke here is that you both know you’re operating from her framework. Thinking about it now I'm surprised no one else has brought this up. All this stuff about frame - my ego is like "of course you've got frame, look at you" but then if I strip that back, if I'm honest, I'm operating squarely in her frame.

Your wife finds you annoying and unattractive. Fuck it's harsh but true. It took me a few weeks, but driving my son to school this morning thinking about your comment (and all the others) and the penny dropped... I never really understood "don't be unattractive", I mean, I knew those words, but I'm trying too hard with this stuff, thinking I'm being attractive, when in fact it's making it worse! She has even told me it's not attractive! Guess I had to go through the process. Post here. Get reame…

I read NMMNG, Rational Male, TWOTSM (3 times) before I found MRP. When I read NMMNG I found some of the examples extreme, but I think it would be beneficial to go back, re-read and do the exercises, with now some MRP context.

On the books, I have read a bunch of them already. I did like MMSLP but not his other one MAP. I know it's not helpful to write "I should". The weekly OYS comes around quick and I don't always get done what I intended to. Most of my post is reporting what I did and how it went. Why are you lying to yourself? What are you afraid of? I'm still trying to work this out myself.

I spent the day at kids sport, doing stuff with the kids and in the yard. I'm thinning at the crown. You're right, I should probably bite the bullet with topical fin.

Point taken. I'm here posting. Can't hide in OYS. I assume you mean pushing through LMR vs repeated annoyance..?

Does she ask my opinion on decisions? Yes, often if it's something she needs help making a decision on. Does she crave my approval? Not noticeably. I'm sure there is an element of wanting my approval but it is not particularly apparent. Would she choose a vacation with me (no kids) over one without me? Firstly, she is not the type to do anything solo, she is very sociable/outgoing. So she would choose to go with me vs solo. This is more her personality rather than her desire for my attention. Se…

I laughed for several minutes at this. Still lol reading it again. But it's actually a quite practical tool. I've got an image in my head now of a dick being slid into my mouth whenever I feel like opening it. Real feedback, not what you get from "mens groups", of which I have been a member of in the past.

Yes, I like my wife and I do believe she values me. I backed right off the last couple of days. She was wearing a see-through singlet last night with no bra which is her indicating to me shark week is finished and she's keen. I didn't comment or try to grab her, and didn't initiate. Today I rang her from the office and said "When you finish up at the gym, grab some lunch and meet me at home". Her response: "I can't I've got to do X, Y and Z but I'll leave tennis early tonight to come see you". M…

Appreciate the comments. Reflections: Night time initiations have been ineffective. We’re both tired and it’s boring. Day time has been much more effective, it’s more spontaneous and novel because we never used to fuck during the day. Initiating at night is leading to a bad cycle of rejections. Because I’m rejected on night one, I initiate on night two, which if rejected means I initiate on night three. This just comes across as annoying and needy, like a little boy poking his mom for attention.…

I started writing my OYS for this week and came back here to re-read, saw your new response. I've read your first response several times. Done some digging because your conversation reminded me a lot of an old me. So Here you go. Thank you, I read the entire thread. "If I do this MRP thing well enough, she'll fuck me." This is the covert contract I have. I'm not sure how to rid myself of it. My belief is that I'm high value and that she should fuck me. However I'm probably premature in my expect…

Well, both points of view lead to the same... That I have work to do on myself. I appreciate the feedback. u/teh1whosees is essentially saying "forget about the wife and focus on yourself", while also calling out my neediness and covert contracts, as you did. I'll continue to use the tools and continue the process. I'm not sure what else to do. But it seems my attempts at intimacy are always viewed (by her, you guys) as neediness and laden with covert contracts. Perhaps it's just unrealistic to …

I read the links provided. I've read them before. Honestly, how many times do I have to read this stuff to re-wire my brain? 10 times maybe. As I indicated in my OYS, I have treated my spouse like a buddy/friend/confidant, whilst my closeness with male friends has declined. Combine this with the little boy seeking mommy's approval/attention and I see where the validation seeking / dancing monkey comes from. So along with internalising the correct mental models, the antidote is to have male frien…

Not initiating just before going to sleep is one major thing I think is good for improving OI bc then I have something else to do. And is fun, adds variety, plus neither party is "too tired". In my OYS I described how I bailed work and headed home for this. It adds an element of excitement and anticipation, kids at school. If kids are home it adds an element of risk but the little cockblockers can still get in the way (lock the door).

What is your fat %? I'm interested to find out, in any case it's low. I've never carried any weight, have a lean athletic build from decades of living an active lifestyle. With all the eating I'm probably carrying more fat now than ever, but my abs and ribs are visible. She can see your covert contract and why you are doing this. I guess fake it it til I make it then.
