implying I go to clubs for girls Seriously though, the only reason I go to music events anymore is because I like who's playing. Life is too short to scream over a line array.

Can confirm, tried dating apps in my last city and it murdered my ego. Meeting people the "normal" way in my new city has felt much better, even if I was rejected, because at least I felt like I tried.

Approach everyone. Yes, talking to girls you are attracted to helps, but talking to everyone helps even more. You learn to carry conversations better, you build social proof, and you get invited to more fun stuff.

I had a chance to talk to a HB on a plane trip for Christmas. I failed to ask for her number, but I enjoyed the practice. Then I was handed a silver platter when she sat next to me at the gate on my return trip. And you know what, I STILL didn't get her number. My next goal is to put aside pickup for a while and just focus on making some female friends. I'm putting too much pressure on myself to do everything at once.

No matter how much you read from our sub, read books, and watch videos, you won't get anywhere until you actually start approaching. It took me a long while to realize I need to train my social "muscle" before I start actually picking up women.

Personal anecdote, but I had a better resolution after getting a flat out rejection from my friend. And our friendship was strong enough to survive.

I just moved to a new city last week. I've already met some fantastic people through clubs (cars, hiking, professional mixers). I've also met a bunch of people through music. I'm fortunate that the EDM scene in my city is very welcoming.

You're entirely correct about falling into the trap of never actually doing anything. There's been a few valuable discussions recently about "action items" like here.

All of Utah isn't bad, it's just that most of it is. The only place that's good for a non-mormon is Salt Lake county.

The problem is he's living in a Mormon county. The only place in Utah that has more non-LDS than Mormons is Salt Lake City. I'm moving there soon and I'm actually quite excited. Between U of U and all the new jobs, the entire area is turning into a great place for young people.

That's because attraction isn't exclusively physical. I can't stand being around must teens. They're annoying!

Fucking truth. Women follow me like puppies when I go into tour guide mode.

I see so much shit about /r/seduction on the main subreddits, but most of it's misguided. The real lesson here is not "pickup" per se, but bettering yourself. I used to be real bitter about never having sex/girlfriend/etc. But you guys taught me that it's not really my looks, or the women. It's just that I'm not in a good place for myself. I don't do anything outside of work, I don't have any hobbies, I never meet anybody in social settings. Now I'm hopeful for what the future holds. I might be …

Call me crazy, but I go to the festivals to enjoy the music. I'm dropping hundreds of dollars for tickets, I'm going to make the most of it.
