Thank you, man. Your guidance has helped me untangle some of my shit this week, which lead me to put a plan in place to move forward. Thank you Slash, this is gold. I’ve read your comment through a few times and it has given me much to chew on, particularly my point of origin. This here is where I’ll start.

I definitely agree with your perspective, Slash regarding me wanting to really become my own captain or not. It’s something I am going to have to shine a light on and really dig into. I am going to give this some thought. I do think my lack of sleep is a huge factor in the way I have been feeling. I have suffered with insomnia in the past and lead to my mental health going to shit a while back. Your last paragraph actually made me laugh, in its accuracy - particularly the last sentence. You have…

I’m being thick, Slash. Not sure what you mean. I wasn’t crying because of something I wanted to do. Edit: Do you mean I must clearly like watching porn eating shit letting myself down etc because I keep doing it?

Ripping myself off. We’ve spoken about this battle before and for a little while there I lost it and it got on top of me. I’ve started digging myself out again and I’m just grateful two weeks didn’t turn into two months or longer.

Ahh thank you for explaining that to me. That makes sense. I’ve heard Keto before but never really known what it is. I’ll have a look into this. I ate some pasta today to break my fast and within 10 minutes I wanted to sleep. I know why know. Thanks again

Thanks for your feedback, Cam_winston. I definitely agree that I’m a fat bastard. Somebody took a photo of me recently and I saw the other day. It was a wake up call to how much I’ve actually got to lose. I’ve started intermittent fasting as you recommended and been able to start back BJJ and lifting again this week. I’ve also noticed I have more energy when I eat less carbs. Not sure why this is though. Thanks for the push in the right direction

Thank you for detailing what I am doing wrong. I understand what you’re saying and agree. It’s given me quite a bit to think about despite recognising what you are saying to be true. I’ve never heard the term ego protection but it explains a lot about some of my behaviours and unknowingly been struggling with it recently (and since I can remember). I was asked if I wanted to compete in a BJJ competition in a few months. I turned it down because I tell myself ‘I’m not competitive and I don’t want…

I wasn’t butthurt about cumming quickly and I think it was because I was actually having having sex for me. I went down on her because I wanted to. I’ve nice guy’d her for years trying to figure out how to make her have a good time. It didn’t work, it’s never worked. This time however, I wasn’t thinking of her at all and did what I wanted to. I then went to fuck her without a condom (which I always get rejected) and just started fucking her. Me doing what I wanted turned me on as well as her bei…

I’ve started to eliminate quite a bit of shit I need to do for work in the week which is definitely an energy suck. I now ‘batch’ those bits on a Sunday evening but I haven’t been doing them long enough to notice an effect. What I have started doing more of is play fighting with my kid in the evenings and messing about in the garden with them. I find I definitely have more energy after and during. Work is an energy vampire, which I’ve started to make changes for. It’s going to be a few months be…

Thanks for letting me report in, SK. 60DOD was the 2nd post I read after 2GunsGetSum Epic FR when I found this place 70 odd days ago. Your post gave me the kick I needed to do something about me and my life. The next week I did my first OYS and apart from a Rule9 14 day ban I’ve kept a consistent weekly habit of doing my OYS. This has helped me immensely. Habits. The main thing I’ve learned in the last 60 or so days is the importance of discipline over motivation. Since my 2nd OYS I’ve lifted 3x…

Yeah you’re right. I think I’ve started to finally let that path die now. It no longer serves me. Last week I think I stepped off that path and was in limbo not sure where to put my next step. But I have and I am thinking for the first time about the ‘future me’. This is a new concept that I’ve learned but I’ve started to apply it and already seeing small wins. That’s for your feedback and taking the time. I really appreciate it.

Thank you, Alphasprout. I hear you on the weight loss and completely agree. The sticks of butter is something I’ve never really thought about. That’s some fucking weight and I can see how it’s poisoning everything else. I’m making some vast improvements going forward in the area. Yeah I’m starting to see this now. I’ve spent so much time looking backwards the future can seem daunting. I think I’m done looking backwards now and have made some progress here with this recently. I’m looking after ‘future me’ now so that motherfucker can take on whatever life gives him. This concept has really clicked for me this week. Your FR post from a while back really helped me last week to understand a rut I found myself in. Thanks for you guidance.

Yeah I see what you’re saying. I’m going to use your advice to reframe something that may or may not happen at work. This is a new perspective I’m going to work on in my life. ‘Read less, Do more’ is something that I’ve been told this twice in as many weeks. There is clearly something in this. Thank you Slash, It’s reassuring that what I was feeling is somewhat part of the journey. As well as your point regarding a fight for the soul, I think this also plays in to what you was talking about (via Fight Club car crash scene) in regards to letting go. I see a lot of postulating, some introspection, and some realization. That's good. But what I don't see is much in the way of actions you will take to change yourself. • Self sabotage seems to be a default move when things are going well. I’ve been doing it pretty consistently for years. • What is important to me is how I handle a set back from now on and reframe it. By having a plan to handles setback might even stop me from self sabotaging, or at least make me aware I’m doing it? • Over the…

Yeah, you’re right. I didn’t see it like that but that’s what I’ve done. I’ve struggled to answer the question so rather than ‘getting it wrong’ I did nothing. I can see where I fucked up. Thank you for pointing it out! My exit plan for fuck ups is to parent myself. Be the parent I needed as a kid. I plan to do this like I parent my own child. I’ve given Chuck’s advice quite a bit of thought and I think the plan starts with forgiveness for myself. That’s my first step. Forgive myself instead of beating myself up. Yes I was doing the sandbag workouts 3x times a week since Xmas. I added 2 more days to the routine for 60dod. My actual goal for this is to continue to build the habit of getting up at 5am every morning (except Sunday) and doing some kind of workout.
