Obviously not. I completely agree with you. I think that Potiphar knew his wife was a thot and tried to save face by throwing Joseph under the bus. What man (in any time period) wants to admit that their wife is a thot? Potiphar isn't all that different to most men today. I could also be wrong as well. The reason I think Potiphar believed Joseph is because he didn't have him immediately executed. If Potiphar thought Joseph were guilty there would have been no reason to not execute him. Also, it is clear from the story that Potiphar trusted Joseph immensely--and I would argue that he trusted Joseph far more than he trusted his wife.
