It's not meant to make sense. Red pillers write 10k word essays on the topic but it can be summed up with one word: "Jealousy." That's all it comes down to. They're jealous. That's all that it is. None of that other crap makes any sense. It's a highly egotistic and extreme emotional worldview. It's all about their ego, every time. Don't worry too much about trying to understand it.

It's not a strawman, it's called the Socratic method. If you think only people who go to war should vote then disabled and elderly men shouldn't vote either. Why only run along gendered lines?

"how dare u not change the topic on demand" lmao Without feminism there would have never been the slow dismantling of gender roles which has affected men's access to paternity leave, baby changing stations, LGBT rights, antibullying campaigns, gender neutral anti rape laws, anti sexual harassment policies that cover male victims, and a lot more. Questions for you: Are you in favour of traditional gender roles? How have antifeminists helped womens quality of life and rights?

You're trying to start an argument about shit unrelated to my original comment. But you'll never admit this. To address your unrelated concerns, I agree that a movement dedicated to men's issues is necessary. Hence, r/menslib

And I tried to explain to you, ad nauseum, why your replies are completely irrelevant. There is no solution to this problem without also addressing the current gender framework our society works under. Gender roles as they exist today currently are currently at odds with helping male victims of rape. Somewhere along the way, people will have to update their outdated views of gender and masculinity in the process of helping male victims receive better treatment in society, and be taken seriously.…

Um, male rape is a serious matter dude. And a lot of male rape victims aren't taken seriously because of society's myths about men, falsely equating masculinity with hypersexuality and believing that men always want and consent to sex with women. Another issue men face is shame for being seen as vulnerable or physically or mentally weak. This also happens in domestic violence situations where the woman is the aggressor. There are also other issues such as the false belief that erections = consen…

I don't think it's the same thing but I'm discussing specifically gender roles. I didn't even use the word toxic anywhere and yet you're still offended by my calling out of gender roles. I'd like to know where you stand on gender roles specifically. Also breaking down of gender roles is exactly what women in more patriarchal countries need, so your argument kinda falls flat there. Whether you want to call it toxic femininity, internalized misogyny, sexism, gender roles, it doesn't really matter …

How is pointing out that gender roles is a problem that affects men and women not part of the solution? Are gender roles not an issue for men? Is sexism not an issue for men? When people treat a male rape victim poorly and say things like "men can't be raped, men aways want sex" or shame men for being "weak" and vulnerable, that is sexism and gender roles at work. How is this controversial? Men absolutely can be victims, and men don't always want sex and from everyone, and they have the right to…

Men can be raped by women. Male rapes by women are underreported due to traits traditionally attributed to the masculine gender role. I blame society's expectations of men, the reactions and attitudes of people like police, as well as those of fellow men and women alike to male victims and the internalized gender roles that prevent victims from both seeking and obtaining justice that they deserve. Blaming gender roles =/= blaming men. What part are you disagreeing with? Highlight it for me

You refused to admit to any legitimacy of any argument presented so far to the validity of the views of people who advocate for men, because they tend to be anti-feminist. A) You're confusing arguing against antifeminism with arguing against male liberation from gender roles. Again. So I tend to assume that for you the allegiance to a validating political label means more to than compassion for men B) You assume incorrectly. See A).

feminist op-ed authors don't even acknowledge the very well-established gender difference in the interest in people vs things (see Roy F. Baumeister on this), and claim that men outnumbering women in the STEM is entirely due to sexism. It's still undetermined how much is due to biological factors and how much is due to environmental factors like sexism. I am of the belief, and a lot of feminists who have researched this agree that it seems to be a mixture of both. What i do not enjoy is when MRA…

This statement doesn't talk about restrictive roles, it talks about masculinity and femininity, and could be taken to mean anything at all. It just doesn't parse. Here let me clarify it for you again: Gender roles shouldn't exist. They should not be prescriptive. They should not be enforced on children or adults alike. They perpetuate an unjustified hierarchy and are harmful to both men and women. Then you must either realize that your views are at odds with the feminist mainstream (which is ent…

They focused on women's advocacy, yes. But they also changed the conversation and pushed for progressive ideas about gender roles for men before anyone else. Gender differences in psychology is explained by radically different socialization of genders in gender theory. I am inclined to believe that there is a mixture of nature and nurture in human psychology, but that our current society shapes our behaviour and thus our brain to be gendered. Historians and sociologists don't deny the oppression of women under law and society throughout history. Most people don't either. Women couldn't even vote or run for office until relatively very recently in time. Why do you think feminism even began at all? For funsies?
/r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates28/12/19 06:04 PM

Antifeminism is anti woman's rights and social equality so, yeah I'd argue it is antiwomen. You don't have to be an antifeminist to advocate for male issues. You choose to do that because you're an antifeminist first, male advocate second.
/r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates28/12/19 05:59 PM

Being against affirmative consent is not truth, it's your opinion. A regressive one at that. One that doesn't even helo male victims of rape either. Blaming all of men's issues on feminism isn't truth either, it's propagandistic and calculated antifeminism disguised as male advocacy.

Actually there are activists associated with the theory of evolution, namely those who lobby and push to teach it in schools to children. Also whether or not a theory is accepted by activists doesn't say anything about the validity of the theory so that was a really odd argument. Gender theory is pretty sound in explaining how gender works. What works have you read?

No, because unlike Satan, the current hierarchy which assumes men are better suited for leadership exists. So much so that men even suffer from the pressure of being leaders.

It's delusional to claim that we do not live in a system that makes it easier for men to assume positions of power. Gender roles exist. Masculinity is associated with strength and leadership.

Feminists are in favour of shared parenting as it removes most of the burden of childcare from women into a more egalitarian arrangement. Judges tend to favour the parent that spends the most time caring for kids to avoid interruptions in the child's life. Now that men are spending a greater amount of time than ever before on childcare and being Stay at home fathers, they are also receiving custody in a greater proportion that reflects this change. And I'm happy about that.

Nope I mean the Cassie Jaye documentary. I've watched it and it's horrible, not even a speck of actual analysis in it. It refuses to actually criticize structural problems behind men's issues. Did a BSc in a topic where we did cover Pinker. Desiring that children not have gender roles pushed onto them is not divorced from reality, it's called fairness and facts based parenting.

I think it has more to do with misinformation campaigns targeting men. There's never been a shortage of antifeminism in our society, even when all women were asking for was the right to vote.

Sounds a bit like the Madonna-Whore dichotomy. In my experience it doesn't make for a great relationship when men have such a stark difference in how they view sex and relationships. You should also want to be sexually attracted to your "adorable" LTR and see them as a sexual being too. You should also make sure that you're not seeing your one night stands as mere sex objects either, but as people with their own individual personalities that you only want to have casual sex with. Idk what your s…

Depends what you mean by extremely drunk. If you just mean they are slurring their words and stumbling a bit, yes Depends how bad it is. If they are slurring a lot, stumbling, not making sense and staring blankly or hardly reacting to things around them, they can't consent. It would be extremely fucked up to see a person in that state and have sex with them as a more sober person. Especially if they are not enthusiastic and initiating sex. If you're the one trying to convince them to sleep with …

So you think someone who is extremely drunk but can still walk can still consent? Sorry but I don't think this is a good metric. Yes it's clear cut but it also leaves out a lot of people who are clearly too drunk to consent by any reasonable person's standards but can still physically move.

Do you have an example of where the proposal states anyone with any amount of alcohol in their system can't consent? Because the article says this legislation that would remove the power to consent from anyone who has had too much to drink or is otherwise impaired. That is, if one partner in a sexual encounter is too drunk, the encounter as such is nonconsensual Pretty sure thats the same thing as what you say you agree with. Someone who has had too much to drink cannot consent, right? That shou…

If that's the case then why is the article's main stance about how the amendment would be "infantalizing women" and not "incapacitated victims are already protected under the law"? Strange position to take unless you're just against there being protections for drunk people. Regardless I don't see any harm in specifically adding intoxication for clarity.

But there is a loophole, which is why they're trying to close it. It's right there where you quoted New York’s existing rape statute only specifically references situations where alcohol or other drugs were administered “without” consent, The law specifically only mentions cases where drugs/alcohol were administered without the victim's consent. Even though some cases were successfully won despite the loophole, this doesn't mean there is no loophole. I don't see why it's wrong to want to add "an…

While it’s true that some caddish men take advantage of drunken women, to put the sole onus of responsibility for a drunken encounter on one party — the male — is to infantilize women. The law is gender neutral. Writing about the proposed change on the Daily Wire website, Ashe Schow laid out how these kinds of rules actually get applied. I don't think he's even right on that. Incarceration rates were fairly stable until 1973. Feminism had been growing in popularity/influence and in mainstream thought since the late 1800s. Yes there were leaps at some points but I don't see enough evidence that there's a correlation there since it ignores the period between 1880-1970.

More critical research into femininity Femininity has been critically examined since the beginning of psychology and feminism. The first few things that feminists even did was to argue that the role of being feminine was a shitty deal for someone who doesn't want to have to be meek, uneducated, inferior and dependent on other people's salaries.

Yeah that's wrong. Some feminists are sex negative, others are sex positive. To deny that there is some variation in opinion there is incredibly ignorant.

You've misunderstood the argument completely. Some environmentalists are vegans, some environmentalists are not vegans. That doesn't mean that nonvegan environmentalists aren't environmentalists. Some feminists are sex positive. Others are sex negative. This doesn't mean either one isn't feminist and no one here is making that argument. Looking forward to a day when redditors can understand the No True Scotsman fallacy better and apply it appropriately lol

As someone who's obsessed with learning about aging, biology and health, fear not. Don't buy into these categories. You can be healthy and attractive at any age, everyone naturally declines with time, but taking good care of your mind and body will keep you fit and youthful. After years of battling depression, I've started to really see how much the body responds to mental states. My hair falls out, my skin breaks out and I get more aches and pains when I don't deal with my emotions properly. Ge…

Calling it a talking point is basically saying it's not a credible theory. There is plenty of evidence that most women harbour a lot of misogynistic views that they were raised with.

You're talking about her like she's a dog lol. Being a good partner who's attractive in a variety of ways could make her more likely to want to be with you, but there's no foolproof way to keep a partner. They have to like you enough and decide you're a good match and also want a commited relationship with you. The same way there's no perfect strategy that a woman can do to force you to want to marry her, same goes the other way around.

Everyone is a mosaic of traits. Going by your logic I would have to automatically classify every instance of a man demonstrating emotional intelligence and empathy as women. That's just not how people work. It's not as black and white as you're making it seem. The exceptions, as you call them, are far more frequent than you're imagining them to be. Sure in the context of reddit, yeah there are a lot of guys who LARP as women. I'm just not convinced this is an example of such a time. I also haven…

Women are detail-oriented. This poster is looking at the big picture, that’s how men think. Thanks for responding but I respectfully disagree. I find it very difficult to believe that you can tell a man's writing from a woman's writing online based on how detail oriented they are. IMO this overgeneralization of women is due to a difficulty in our society to acknowledge that women and men have much more in common than they have different. The reality is the majority of women ARE marrying men they…

Lastly, I don’t know any women who think like this. This is what I'm disagreeing with. Can you characterize for me what about the post is something that women don't think like? How do women actually think? I just disagree with the premise that there is a gendered way to think.

Im gonna go against the grain here and say it's very possible they are a woman. Women are just as capable of sounding like that. This person is messed up, and it doesn't matter what gender they are. I also dont believe that the majority of users there are women. I can see there being a large female population there but not a majority. I'd like to see proof of that claim. However I will say though that subreddits that deal with relationships, dating, personal issues, advice etc tend to be more po…

I personally would be hesitant to make a claim like this. I have said things on reddit that some men will message me afterwards and say "I had no idea women think this way". Maybe that's because I'm just one woman, and not all women think the same way? Some women are bleak. Some women are disillusioned with marriage. There's no one way to think as a woman.

TRP is based on some truth but loaded with fantasies that don't have any basis in the real world. The purpose of these fantasies is to promote a reactionary worldview and propagate the idea that men have more options than they really do. Lonely men buy into it. Scorned men love it. Antifeminist men wish it could spread. It's all with the same goal of elevating the status of the every man to a position where they feel they can look down instead of up at the women that constantly reject them. It's…

Yeah I never said families don't provide support, there are pros and cons to both having no kids, having few kids and having many kids. But in general DINKs have the most amount of money and get the most amount of education. Parents are more likely to be in debt. Childcare is extremely expensive.. Having lots of kids makes you less able to pay for each of their education so they rely on student loans or settle for having less education. You might have a bit more support in your elderly years bec…

This is true. He was referring to the Jewish people as well, and blaming them for the downfall of Germany after WWII. But it remained for the Jews, with their unqualified capacity for falsehood, and their fighting comrades, the Marxists, to impute responsibility for the downfall precisely to the man who alone had shown a superhuman will and energy in his effort to prevent the catastrophe which he had foreseen and to save the nation from that hour of complete overthrow and shame. By placing respo…

I think families make people poorer and thus easier to control. More willing to work long hours at shitty jobs, less money, more desperate workers. It's not like back in the old days when more kids meant better financial stability.

Edit: where does it say that this specific question (about the draft) will get removed for being "trolls" or "antagonistic"? The only thing that it says is identical topics that occur too frequently will be removed by the mods: It's a question that gets asked 15 times a day, making it essentially one of the biggest reposts, that's why they get removed. The CDC findings show that appx. 19% of women have been raped in their lifetime. In contrast, 6.5% of men have been raped (when you add up both "forms" of rape, i.e. 5% have been made forced to penetrate in their lifetime, and appx. 1.5% have been forcibly penetrated.) We can postulate as to why the rate roughly even for the prevalence in the last 12 months, but the fact that lifetime female victimization rate is 19% vs male victimization rate being 6.5% isn't a discrepancy to be ignored. Ok Where are you getting these stats from because most sources I find including Rainn, and the Canadian crime stats show a higher percentage of female rape victims than male, and greater number of male perps of other men. I think men should get the proportionate amount of funding and help that actually represents their numbers. Tbf all funding should increase, because current levels are atrocious for everybody. But anyway as for the actual ratio of victimhood, I'm pretty sure the fact is that wo…

I was just lurking in this sub but i came here to say skincare. If you haven't got a basic antiaging routine yet, the sooner you start, the better. Its easier to prevent lines, wrinkles and sagging than to treat it once they're there. Actives (vitamin c, retinol, acid peels) Sunscreen (sun damage is cumulative. More sun = more collagen breakdown. This is the * most important thing) Moisturizer/hydration (Optional but very effective IMO) Hydrogel under eye or nasolabial fold masks Skincare isn't …

Women don't like weakness. Edit: I posted this here to show people how ridiculous this kind of generalisation is. Especially when the statistics show a wildly different story. Men leave their wives at an alarmingly higher rate when she gets an illness. I hope someone reading this will actually look this up, there are multiple studies that show this is true. But yet here we are with OPs bullshit "women don't like weakness" nonsense. Lessons learned: bullshit, more bullshit and even more bullshit.

Maturity has multiple meanings. One of them being biological maturity. Biological changes in the brain affects the mind. The mind cannot do what the brain cannot allow. These are not perfectly separate spheres and are not perfectly predictable, but in general it is true that many psychological milestones go hand in hand with neurological development as a child ages.

The brain is an organ. Organs mature with development. Puberty is biological maturation.

The excerpt and your post both seem to be using biological and psychological maturity interchangeably. Women don't stop puberty bang on at 18, and many little physiological developments can continue into her 20s (brain development, epiphyseal fusion, etc). The same goes for men, but they tend to start puberty a little later and finish a little later as well. Boys start puberty a little later, likely due to the pressure to not look too grown up when they're in their teens so as to not appear thre…
