I will. I was just about to post a meaningful reply, which is that this post is super informative and I applaud you for explaining this so thoroughly. I do have a question: if I were to leave the house because of something she's doing, such as in your example, what do I say when she asks where I'm going, what I'm doing, etc.? Can I just say "I'm taking myself out of this situation?" It occurred to me that leaving the house in certain situations can probably come off as very butthurt, so since I'…

I don't care what you do, the point is to throw variety at her. Get her out of her "Mom" shell, and into her "Wanton-slut" shell. Believe me, I'm working on it. Those three failed encounters I mentioned? Yeah...she's been super resistant to everything I've tried. She seems determined to be a mega-prude, even if she's DTF pretty regularly. Someone else mentioned in another thread that I have to accept quantity over quality for right now because she isn't attracted to me yet. Well, that's pretty o…

Thanks for the advice. Buy her something naughty and leave it out. Tell her that's her uniform for Valentines day, you expect to see it. Now you're only giving her the option to say no. Okay, suppose I do and she says no...what then? She's been very resistant to the changes I've made, particularly when it comes to sex. In the past five days, we've had three failed encounters, all due to her resisting my changes. I suspect that if I do what you suggested she'll probably roll her eyes, laugh, and/…

I realize that she isn't attracted to me yet, but I don't think I'm making excuses. Can't do much about being sick, tis the season. As for after that, we're supposed to own our shit, right? Well I've had three chances in the last five days and I've failed mostly due to my own awkward attempts to do too much too quickly. The lesson I've taken from those experiences is to not put the cart ahead of the horse and expect change overnight. This has always been a problem for me.

Thanks for clarifying. I actually thought about buying her the dress I want her to wear but decided against it because of sizing issues and what not. For instance, I know she's a size 6 normally, but she has some 4s and some 8s as well. That's a minefield I'm not interested in navigating. That leaves me with three options, in descending order of desirability: send her shopping with simple instructions to return looking hot send her shopping after showing her a pic as an example go with her. To m…

This may sound argumentative (it's not) but isn't expecting to be appreciated a covert contract? I know for a fact I've read a TRM about not expecting to be appreciated. Will you clarify?

Oh, and I'm definitely not to the point of making her my cumslut yet. She's been very resistant to any changes to our very vanilla, very routine sex that has hardly changed in two years. I have to apply changes slowly.

I see your point, but I'm not exactly giving her a shopping spree...I'm sending her out specifically to get herself dolled up to impress me.

The hiatus was neither her fault nor mine: I was sick, then she was, then I was again. Toddlers... I've had three opportunities to break out of the hiatus in the past week: last Friday, she wanted it and I stupidly turned her down (that's the FR you're talking about). Two nights ago, I had another chance and laid the dominance moves on a bit too thick and scared her off. She was DTF but my ham-fisted attempts turned her off. Finally, last night she initiated and we had sex. I dialed the dominanc…

Well in years past I'd agree that my VD activities were a covert contract. I sent her flowers at work, gave her cards and stuffed animals, etc., all because I thought that's what I was "supposed to" do. So there was a component of supplication as well. In any case, it would really affect me seriously if she denied me on VD in years past. Textbook covert contract, like you aptly pointed out. I'm approaching it differently this year. Yes, the plan is to give her cash and send her shopping, but the…

I'm not going to pretend to have good answers for you OP, as I'm in pretty much the same boat, but I will tell you this: it's become apparent to me (special thanks to /u/bluepillprofessor) that this isn't a sprint, it's a marathon. I've been with my wife for nearly 13 years total, married for six. We've been together for our entire adult lives. I did post about how to bring her up to my standards on household chores, yes. Should I just take care of all the grocery shopping myself then? The card is already a short leash compared to the unfettered access to our bank account and credit cards that she currently has.

Great post, thanks for this. I can see myself doing both of these things. I instituted a grocery budget for my family this year as part of some general belt-tightening/financial improvement. My wife has fought it like Davy Crockett at the Alamo. Up til now, I've engaged with her and tried to explain it to her, get her on board with it, etc. I'm thinking that next month, I'm just going to go buy a $500 Visa gift card, hand it to her, and tell her that when she's out, she's out.

Alphas don't turn down sex or try to use it to manipulate like a woman. Shit, man...can I at least get some aloe for that burn? Fuck... J/k. I needed to hear that. As I said somewhere else, TIFU... For what it's worth, I was trying to convey that I don't care if she fucks me or not, but as you pointed out that was manipulative since obviously I wanted to fuck her.

Well the funny thing about that is, that's what I was trying to convey when I rejected her after she didn't do what I said in the text. Obviously TIFU, but I'm not sure how to convey that I don't care if she fucks me.

When your wife wanted to have sex you turned her down as she didnt put away leftovers? The leftovers had nothing to do with it. The text I sent her was 1,000 times more about putting something sexy on and waiting for me in bed than it was about the leftovers. If I should've just left that part out completely, then so be it...live and learn. I certainly didn't mention the leftovers again after that text. As for the lingerie, I didn't care that much about that, either, I just wasn't sure what to d…

I'm making my way through the Rational Male: Year One blog also, but I haven't had time to read through all of it yet. I plan to re-read MMSLP because I read it a few months ago (I was referred to it by someone else). I haven't started lifting yet. My only excuse is that I was sick, but I'm not anymore. Don't expect perfection or even full on cooperation, just do it FFS. Hahaha yeah, that would've been better. I was really bummed out by how she reacted to being thrown on the bed, though. I thought putting her over my shoulder and throwing her on the bed would get the juices going big time, but all she did was resist and bitch about my cold hands.

Thanks for this. I see myself as a quintessential rookie as I apply these principles in my life: I read and I think I understand, but then I fall short when it comes to application. I'm thankful that this community exists and I'm able to bounce ideas off of more experienced men. As for my little proposition, my offer to help comes from a very deep-seated sense of compromise and cooperation, but believe it or not, I've been operating with some outcome independence with respect to chores for a lon…

Too much stick and not enough carrot doesn't make you a strong man, it makes you a petty vindictive whiney little bitch. This seems like a good way to entice her to do something I like (keeping a tidy house) with something else that I like (taking her out) which, if done properly will lead to something else that I like, which is wild monkey sex. God I love this sub. Edit: yes, I know I don't have to take her out in order to get crazy monkey sex. But it's undeniably fun to let her get all dolled …

So, does she every say its hard to keep up because the toddler trashes everything? No, tidiness and order simply aren't priorities of hers. She does the very bare minimum that she can get away with.

I've seen her be very disciplined. I've seen my wife very disciplined too. When my daughter was a baby, she had a hell of a time breastfeeding her, but she bent over backwards and went through hell and high water to keep going because she believed (and I agree) that breastfeeding was the best thing for our baby. In fact, part of what opened my eyes to what was really going on with our sex life was watching her dedicate hours and hours of research and effort to overcoming problems with breastfeed…

I just finished NMMNG. I should re-read that chapter. Thanks for the 2x4 haha. I see how I need to change the mindset, but I can't change the behavior even if I wanted to. The things I do are my responsibility; I have to make money, I have to take care of my home, etc. I'm having an epiphany as I type this: I have to inspire her/lead her to do these things.

How's this: Okay babe, I have a proposition for you: here is a list of chores that need to be done around the house this week, and you know what I want the house to look like in general. If it does, and the list is all done by Friday afternoon, I will take you out for a nice dinner and we can let someone else worry about the cooking and cleaning. I'll be working on this also, but if I have to do more than half of it, no deal.

The second one is a covert contract. You want her approval for your hard work. I wouldn't say that I necessarily am seeking her approval, though I won't rule it out either...perhaps I'm doing that unconsciously? I definitely do chores because I want to achieve the a certain goal: I want my environment to look and feel a certain way. Thus, I'm going to make that happen with or without her help. On the other hand, I expect her contributions to the family to be commensurate with her time and abilit…

I've tried a lot of things, honestly. I don't want to misrepresent things: she really has gotten better over the time that we've lived together. She used to do nothing and now she contributes, it's just not to my (admittedly very high) standards. Like I said elsewhere, it's not the work itself that bothers me, it's her attitude...she can sit on the couch while I work on chores and not be bothered by it. That said, this is an interesting suggestion. I'll give it a try. Thanks!

After 9 years she should be at the standard you expect. I don't say this to provoke any issues or an argument, but rather to point out that you have had almost a decade to change her behaviors and habits and you haven't. She's definitely made progress since we moved in together, but you're right, she hasn't adopted my standards despite having ample time to do so. That said, I was going about it all wrong: anger, whining, passive-aggressive BS, etc. Basic chump stuff. My approach will be complete…

also I don't remember if it wa mentioned but is she a sahm, are there kids? She works part time and we have a two-year-old daughter. Understand that while you set the standard, you may set it too high a bar. Think about if you are communicating things in a overly critical way. Next keep your standard high for you, and the space in general yet do not expect her to reach it immediately. This has been my approach in the recent past. I realize that my standards are much higher than hers, and that's …

We also don't have anything overarching in our culture that serves as a rite of passage from boy to man so they have that title definitely bestowed upon them. This. For the longest time, I consciously refused to refer to myself as a man because I didn't know if I'd earned the title yet. The college-aged version of me that drank myself stupid, DUI'ed to Taco Bell at 3:00 in the morning, didn't go to class...that was a "dude." I certainly don't want my wife to see me as a "dude." Funny you should mention that. It occurred to me that I'm doing myself no favors because her reply is always "it's not your fault" when I say "I'm sorry" to express sympathy. If that's her response, then clearly she associates "I'm sorry" with fault regardless of the context.
/r/MarriedRedPill05/02/15 04:39 PM

Yeah, you've really expanded on what I was saying with usage of "I'm sorry." It just seems to me, as a layman, that there has to be some psychological pattern or training or something in which my wife hearing "I'm sorry" from me all the time, even if it's in the "I'm sympathetic" or the "can you repeat that" forms, is counterproductive to remaking myself as a confident, assertive man. There are so many other ways to say "I'm sympathetic" or "can you repeat that." It's a change that I think is wo…

They each are each trying to win first place in your hierarchy, and trying to make you "pay for it" if you don't chose them. This. I've had this problem intermittently with my wife and my mom. My mom didn't care for my wife for many years, and then I think she just resigned herself to the reality when wifey and I got married. They get along well now, but the old monster rears its ugly head from time to time. Until recently, I handled it like a bitch...I'd try to talk both of them off the ledge, …

Your daughter is your child, your flesh and blood, and your fiancee is a person off the street that you've invited into your family. I think my strategy is going to be to up the kino and playfulness, as others have suggested, and then start with the beginner stuff from SGM. He says right at the beginning that it's all psychological, and the very first bit of advice he gives is to talk in the bedroom. Hell, I don't even need SGM or MRP to know that I need to be better at that...head on over to r/askwomen or something and even they say that being dead silent in the sack is bad. It definitely wasn't just the birth control. Maybe it wasn't that at all. As you may have surmised from my brief description above, my bedroom game is suffering. She runs the show 100% right now: she decides where and when, how often, what positions (it's really just missionary), etc. It's going to be an uphill battle for both of us to break all of those bad habits and get to a point where we're happily banging like bunny rabbits again.

Fill her with some of that delicious baby batter and a healthy dose of male hormones every chance you get. I was actually just talking to some other guys on here about this yesterday. Our only method of birth control right now is the pull-out method. She got off the pill/patch/ring (tried 'em all) a few years ago in an effort to fix low libido. I'm now learning that that was either mostly or entirely my fault, but this is still the birth control situation I find myself in. In the short term, I'm…

the 10-second kiss I want to do this so badly, but every time I try, she breaks away long before 10 seconds has gone by. That's the impression I got from his comment, but Idk. In any case, vasectomy and Vasagel seem to both achieve the same result: semen without sperm. I like shooting cum. Juvenile maybe. But it's one of nature gifts. Okay, I don't mean to split hairs here, but I was under the impression that you still shoot cum after a vasectomy, it just doesn't contain any sperm. I've read about Vasagel before...I'm pretty excited by it also. Lucky for me, the timing should work out pretty well...wifey and I are taking a cruise in November and are planning to pull the goalie then. My wife hasn't been on birth control for three or four years now. We were having sex frequency problems (long before I knew MRP existed) and one of the proposed solutions was for her to discontinue birth control since it can cause low libido. Since then, I've been pulling out and blowing my load into a towel like a bitch (because she says jizz is "gross" so she doesn't want me to cum on her). Chasing the wife around the house and giving her kisses when she is crabby will do the exact opposite of what you want. Let me clarify; that's not what I was doing. I kissed her for real when I got home from work. Then I kissed her before I left to get takeout. When she protested, I simply told her to calm down. This my friend is what you need to work on. Working on it. It is tough, but I'm getting better. Example: My lovely wife is a god-awful messy slob, whereas I take care of my shit and keep things tidy. This has been a pain point in our relationship for as long as we've been living together (going on nine years now).
