What do you guys think? That you should seek therapy. What you've posted (if it's real sentiment) implies fragility and poor mental health.

It's not a choice for me, but I absolutely can explain my reasons for being attracted to (or not attracted to) a person. In terms of neediness being a turn off - I don't want someone to be into me solely because they're afraid of being alone. I want them to be into me because they see me for who I am and they like what they see. Desperation/neediness is a red flag for me, so avoiding desperate/needy people is more of a conscious decision than an attraction thing for me.

I'm sorry you're in a tough place, but the good news is you're realizing the content you're consuming isn't helping you. I have to make a change but I kinda don’t know where to start. First: Be kind to yourself. That means, don't focus on feeling bad about past decisions. Don't set unrealistic expectations (like you won't ever look at bad content online ever again). If you have negative thoughts about yourself, work on redirecting your thoughts. Second: Focus on simple things to take care of you…

If they don't want to be "masculine" but want me to be "masculine" (which I swear is like 95% of women I know) Change up the people you're hanging out with because that seems like a shitty social circle.

It's not a comfortable fact, but everyone (no matter age) is susceptible to some type of grift/propaganda. RP preys on loneliness and insecurity in an uncertain world, so yeah, probably going to appeal to younger men who haven't found their place in the world yet, but there's plenty of reason why it'd also appeal to bitter divorced 40+ men too.

Would like to work on those too Mental health is super important - so good you're looking out for yourself. We all struggle with self esteem at one time or another. Therapy can help, but it's not always accessible to everyone. I've found working on hobbies/skills can do wonders for mental health and self esteem. It's counterintuitive, but being confident and outgoing in a social situation can sometimes come from having just completed a solid bookcase with new skills you've practiced. It's not a …

I'd argue that if you're prone to getting sucked into content you don't want to get sucked into, avoiding social media/YouTube etc is the best path forward. Maybe start with trying to identify what need redpill fulfills for you. Does it quell your insecurities? Does it replace loneliness with anger? Does it reduce complexity so that the world feels safer? Etc. If you replace one ideology with another, you aren't really progressing. If you do still feel a need to watch YouTube, maybe focus on som…

if you should have to do these things Black and white thinking like the redpill prescribes can be very comforting. It simplifies the world and puts anxieties at bay. Maybe black and white thinking meets a need you have right now. Maybe not. Sometimes we need to sit in neutral and go nowhere for a while till we figure things out - but hopefully you'll find a more nuanced view that will move you forward sooner rather than later.

Think you're being a bit simplistic in your thinking. Yes, you want an outcome that does involve other people to also want that outcome... but you're not going to get there with the black-and-white way you're thinking about others.

Like in a post gender world a man should be able to stay home and the woman should be able to be the breadwinner and there would be no question or analysis of it at all but clearly were not there yet I mean, some of us are. Maybe be the change you want to see in the world. Focusing on others who fail to live up to what you want the world to be doesn't help anyone get to a better place.

If you want someone to love you because you're pretty and blow them a kiss once in a while you eat bonbons in front of the TV, not sure what to say. Maybe that person is out there for you. Being in a loving partnership means taking care of each other. Sometimes that's work. The beautiful thing is I never asked him to do any of those things for me, and had he been sick or unable to, or picked a different set of things to do for me, I would have loved him just the same. But we work because we put …

How does he get alternative views then though? No one absorbs information if they're not interested in expanding their worldview and adjusting their beliefs to better match reality. He'll get alternative views when/if he's ready. You could try slipping in ideas about how to think, rather than what to think. For example, you could express that you're careful not to believe something so wholeheartedly that it becomes who you are. Or express that you try to continually question how you relate to th…

I read online, that the person has to realize that they are part of this community as a first step. I'd argue that this isn't really a step that matters. The label or knowing it's a community doesn't really matter. What matters is if the person wants a change. Change has to come from within. If they're feeding a need through redpill and aren't interested in changing that, you cannot help them. Be his friend. If he does make sexist or hateful statements, indicate that you don't agree with the sta…

Like others have said - this isn't the big deal you're making it. In the future, you might want to frame things in your own mind before being vulnerable and reaching out to someone: Reaching out to someone doesn't obligate them to respond. You don't know what people are going through. Your friend might be busy, overly stressed, depressed, dealing with drama in her own life, dealing with a death of a loved one etc. Your worth as a person isn't defined by someone responding (or not) to your text m…

In general, when people give you unkind and non-constructive feedback, it tells you more about them and their insecurities than it says anything about you. If she felt the need to use an insult I'm guessing she has her own issues to work through. Don't take it personally - just try and date people who are more mature next round.

I think I have to be successful in some way Be careful with how you define success. Success can be as simple as "I did not look at social media content all afternoon." or "I went for a walk and sat with my thoughts." or "I acknowledged I am insecure about XYZ". Success should not be defined solely on external factors such as "I'm not successful if I don't get a date" or "I'm not successful if I don't get a promotion".

mindfulness It can encompass a lot of things, but at the heart of it, it's not being so self-absorbed that you miss the world around you. This can be as little as paying attention to the nature around you, being in the moment, etc. but ultimately keeps you aware and on top of your emotions and state. Among other benefits, this reduces instances where you treat others poorly because you're stressed, unaware of your internal motives and/or emotionally reactive to your environment rather than absor…

Toxic people aren't toxic 100% of the time. People who aren't toxic won't harbor resentments that turn into arguments. Black-and-white thinking isn't healthy. But it's getting worse and worse, some comments broke my heart because I love men, so I'm forced to be a misandric or radfem Becoming polarized is an intended effect of social media. Engagement -anger or support or argument - is money. It's also a way to divide and disrupt a population. You're not forced to think or do anything. Good observation. The hallmark of good mental health is flexibility. Mental flexibility means the ability to adapt to changes, work with a range of other people, handle nuance, manage uncertainty and see/use a range of available options. Black and white thinking may be much more comfortable in the short-term, but it locks those who adhere to it into a much bumpier ride.

According to redpill I must be ugly or low value since I don't have a rich husband. Products are sold based on you having a "need" for it. Some needs are real, some needs are induced . Why trust a salesman of "solutions" whose first step is to sell you a story on why you are broken?

Women don't all want the same thing, so you can't all be in the same competition over "women". ten years younger Ten years is starting to be a bit of an age gap - it's not necessarily a red flag, but if we're talking about a 30 year old who regularly dates 20 year olds, I'd question what's wrong with the 30 year old that they can't get someone closer to their age.

Im seriously freaking out about being single for the rest of my life. I know it's not what you want to hear, but being single for life is ok. That's not the end of the world. I blew it by being needy and insecure. Desperation to not be single and being worried that you're somehow not worthy will do that. At least in the US, the percent of men and women in their early, mid and late twenties who are virgins is roughly the same. There might be many men in your position, but there's also many women. In your post, you talk about hanging out with mostly men, so the leap to assume women are getting more sex belies a bias and an assumption that could speak to more problematic views that may make you less desirable.

And we really need to talk about what respect even means. For sure. . I don't respect a baby in that I don't think this baby is an authority or I look up to it. I don't think respect instantly means there is a hierarchy or authority - in fact, I think it's quite the opposite in a lot of cases (when there's an insistence on authority, you actually don't have respect). I really wish she didn't use shocking language because its just toxic to call male respect homoerotic and contributes to male isolation. It absolutely is toxic. This is a toxic belief that when men are friends with other men and really like each other that is sexual and gay. Marilyn Frye is 1) outdated and 2) a radical. I think she's interesting to read to gain a historical perspective on the radical side of various cultural movements but she's not someone "a lot" of women know, care about or resonate with. The few times I've seen her referenced, it's by TERFs (trans exclusionary radical "feminists") who bastardize Frye's notion of separation of power for oppressed groups. Being desperate for a partner and being so fixated on finding a mate is a very unattractive quality. Unattractive enough it eclipses anything else you are and anything else you do. We see many young men who get mocked because of a lack of success in dating and not being able to "get some". Yup, and that's really really damaging. Well I'm not sure most boys are really getting a consistent message that they are entitled to a partner. That's wrapped up in what you said: "if you're _____ enough, you'd have success with women", meaning if a man/boy feels "but I'm good enough" or "I'm manly enough" or "I'm nice enough", then the message is they deserve success with women. she is the first and only girl that I think may like me Ah, misread that. Either way - if you think that's the only girl that's been into you, that's too much pressure on the thing to have a confusing and messy start to. I'm sure there's been someone else into you and too shy to say it. That's a pretty constant theme in highschool/college. But even if not, it's good to get a better start to a relationship than this.

You should consider learning some more about feminism. This, and not that OP directly said masculism is the opposite of feminism, but there's massive swaths of feminism devoted to mens lib and advocating for men (e.g. treating fathers as fathers and not babysitters, supporting men who don't want a traditional career or need a break from the work force, advocating for mental health and healthy sharing of vulnerability etc.) That said, I think OP was more saying: there's differences between the se…

Very good points. I'll also add, look for how he handles 'no' or rejection. Narcissists, insecure people, and red pill types take it as a personal rejection when someone isn't in the mood to do something or go somewhere. Why is it so hard to stay away from things that trigger that type of thinking in me? There's a lot of possible reasons, and certain types of therapy can help get to the root of it. A lot of women seem to think that all men just have the easiest lives ever and they don’t have any problems. This says more about the people you're paying attention to than it does about women as a whole group. Social media is going to promote outrageous things and divisive things - that's what gets engagement. Try taking a break from social media (no TikTok no YouTube, no reddit etc.) and go meet some people.

Eeesh, my dude. We all (women, men, trans, cis, gay, straight, etc. etc.) are individuals. Lots of people (men, women, whatever) have empathy. I'd argue if someone's empathy is selective towards just one group of people, it's not real empathy. Don't use social media as a gauge for what people are like. It's a self-selecting population and presents a biased view of who's out there and what they think.

There are red flags you can learn that will help you find a partner who's better aligned with your values and able to give you faithfulness.... but that comes with time, communication and seeing everyone you meet as an individual with their own good and …

they put sex on a pedestal. Yup. I'm not sure if I can explain it well I'll give it a clumsy go: Anyone who puts anything on a pedestal takes away that thing's depth, agency, wonder and growth. It takes the life out of whatever it is and confines it to what the pedestal holder wants to see in it - and only that. It's shallow and narcissistic to put something or someone on a pedestal.

no value or enjoyment in life other than sex and money And it's not even that they enjoy sex - it's that they view it as a competition between men, view women as objects to conquer and value men who sleep with women. It's a sad existence.

Depends on what else you've got going on. If someone's reaching out to me because of my looks, I read it as shallow and rightly or wrongly, I dismiss them as shallow and not worth my energy.

vastly more options in the dating market. Options someone doesn't want aren't useful. Getting options based on shallow needs means people who aren't looking for a shallow connection just have a harder time finding non-shallow people. Besides, people aren't product.

Grifters have to repackage and reinvent to keep the grift alive and give rubes the feeling they're onto something "special" and "new" and something that captures the current zeitgeist. After "redpill" is dead there'll be some other thing to package up the same. Seems like a gender war is occurring. There are always individuals who are bitter. Some are bitter for a bit because they've been a victim of a toxic person. Some are bitter for their whole lives, and while they may have been a victim at one point, they're unable to heal and end up hurting others. This second group ends up needing to blame others for their problems and it often turns into a big part of their personality. Toxic men blame women, toxic women blame men. I don’t use “girl” and “female” as a way to demean women I get it. And saying "female coworker" (like you did) is fine. Saying just "female" is not. But whatever you consciously mean, if you're working towards being better and bringing your views of others more in line with reality, skip calling grown women 'girls'.
/r/ExRedPill26/08/23 05:55 PM

Referring to women as "girls" indicates you think grown women are somehow diminutive and immature. Referring to women as "females" and not "female humans" or "women" indicates you think of women as lesser. It's less common when you see someone say 'boys' or 'males' when they mean men, but there too, it indicates disdain. It's subtle - and you might not mean it consciously - but it's dehumanizing. See /r/MenAndFemales/ for more examples.

People don't think of other people in terms of "has their penis been in a vagina". You're absolutely spot on, but the poster is clearly coming from a different view of the world. There's been multiple studies coming at this from different angles, but the upshot is always shaming and bullying does not help others be healthier. Additionally, focusing on just one aspect of health (how much excess weight you carry) is unhealthy as well and gives the false impression that all skinny people are automatically healthier than all obese people. Women wearing makeup, dressing sexy, doing their hair, posting selfies etc. ain't about you. They're not asking to be an object, much less an object for you. What someone does to feel good about themselves or express themselves on the outside doesn't change the fact that they've got their own inner world. No one outside your relationship agreed to anything with you. You don't need to care what's in other people's hearts. Also are you a man that found a relationship without the red pill? I'm a woman who had a good friend fall for the red pill. It sucked watching his life get blown to bits over it. /r/ExRedPill18/05/23 10:08 PM

I had those issues and I did love people, I just didn't know how to love them properly. There's nothing wrong with that - and people with issues (let's face it, we all have issues) do and can love. I'm not implying otherwise. But if you're using RP - which are abuse tactics meant to feed and starve with attention - on someone with attachment issues or self-esteem issues that person isn't into you. They didn't have a chance to be into you. They're just prey in a cycle of abuse.
/r/ExRedPill18/05/23 10:03 PM
6

Statistically relationships started that young don't last - there's always exceptions to the rule of course, but I wouldn't be looking for anything too serious at your age. Hell, your prefrontal cortex - the parts of your brain you use for judgement and long term planning - still aren't fully developed till 25 (that's an average, YMMV). Use this time to grow into the person you want to be. Date so you can learn about yourself through relationships but don't stress it.
/r/ExRedPill18/05/23 08:51 PM

But it seems like most people are like that and if I want someone then I would have to conform to that. That might be more a function of your age than the nature of people... or a function of your circle of friends... or a function of where you're looking for dates. Lots of people suffer from low self esteem and look for validation externally when they're younger, but they mature out of it as they grow and learn more about themselves. Focus on not needing external validation and on what you can …

wanting validation and being with someone for validation Men and women can both be like that - RP just teaches you to lean into it instead of recognizing that they're a person struggling and not ready for a relationship.

I feel like they were more into me then as they were mainly the ones reaching out to me. Ultimately it's not good for them - they can't be themselves when they're in a desperate cycle of self hate, insecurity and desperation. Worse, it'll never build a relationship you can lean on or show weakness in... that's no way to live. them taking me for granted Be a…

But I never had these problems when I was with the red pill. RP primes you to prey on people with attachment disorders and self esteem problems... so while they might not break up with you, they aren't really into you either. You deserve someone who's genuinely into you for who you are.
/r/ExRedPill18/05/23 08:10 PM

I’m trying not to. It's not easy - especially if it seemed a good match from your side - but people are diverse and unique. Everyone's going through their own thing, needs their own things and has their own way of looking for some one. Takes time for everything to line up for everyone. Focus on having empathy for yourself, the people you date and for the people who turn you down.

The below applies to the US. If you live in a different country you'll have to find your local resources or ask others. There is however support for women likning it... I think it just confuses women (as per my original comment). Benevolent sexism, initially, can seem like kindness and friendship - and it's not always easy to separate someone's motivation out right away and identify benevolent sexism as the sexism it is. I personally think all sexism, benevolent or not, is low status and low class. associated with men being of ”lower mate status”. Yet this is the behaviour TRP promotes Totally agree - but I think…

holds them in high regard "High regard", in their eyes, maybe. But the root of it is in assuming a woman is somehow a different creature than a man and needs to be "worshiped" or "protected" - in other words, white knights believe women need special treatment. It's fundamentally a sexist attitude and often is coupled with more directly damaging sexism.

I've witnessed them pull. A pull doesn't always end in anything. In fact, it very often doesn't. So unless you're in the closet watching your friend go at it, be skeptical. I'm the quiet dude and let me tell you, ain't no slaying happening. That's nothing to be upset about - and yeah, not all quiet dudes are slaying but bragging about sex typically is overcompensation for something. That something is often a lack of sex or a perceived lack of it.

Women seem to like ”benevolent sexism” in men, which is what TRP calls ”white knighting” and ”simping”. I don't think women like benevolent sexism. I get how they might get mixed signals in our current culture. In particular, I get that when someone jumps in to help it's hard to tell the difference between: "Hey, let me be an ally and boost what you're trying to do" (cool) and "Hey, let me help you here because you're incapable of helping yourself - and maybe you owe me some love an attention fo…

I know people that did that for years in end and regretted it in the long run I know people who regretted it and people who don't regret it one bit. I also know people who regretted not having a "bit of fun" in their early years. I don't care if a partner can't find the clit. I have a problem if he thinks he can, doesn't take guidance and completely fails to find it. When I joke about some man needing a map it's more a joke about him not stopping to ask for directions. I don't know many women who want a man because of his experience. I personally tend to avoid men who've slept around a bunch.

I Am complete, I AM genuine, I AM wise, I AM brave, I AM pure, and I AM independent Good. The notion a relationship fixes your problems is toxic. You gotta be healthy on your own and not desperate for a relationship to validate who you are. That's too much stress on the relationship and completely unfair to the other person to make them responsible for your self worth. I'm sure you'll have more relationships, and hopefully heathy ones.

For a 95% confidence, and margin of error of 5% you'd only need a randomly selected sample size of 385 to represent a population 43,000,000. We should try and understand, and if we can, sympathize with people, even when they behave badly. That doesn't mean we should excuse their behavior or not hold them accountable. It's not productive to put people on a pedestal. It's not helpful to those being fetishized either. It seems like In your 20s women have an easier time dating and socializing than guys. At the heart of it, people like different things. What I view as "high value" might not be the same as you. Pretending 'high value' is some some universal measuring stick is pretty sad cope. Your feelings are valid, but you need to not let your feelings control your actions. Violence wouldn't have helped anything, and ultimately would have meant that your ex and that situation would have controlled the rest of your life (or at least a good long time after that moment). Don't let people who behaved badly control who you are and how you feel. Recognize that they did wrong, but that doesn't reflect on who you are. Find productive ways to move on. Dwelling on the anger, the moment, the …

That's... quite the word salad there! From here it just looks like you're dealing with a lot of insecurity. Hope you stop needing to decide there's a well defined (gender confused? what does that even mean?) "other" in order to feel confident and comfortable in the world. Best of luck.

Finding good role models will help. paranoia of beutiful women Just like you want to be valued as a human, so do well-balanced women. A woman is more than her looks. And i just dont get it. Just because gender is a social construct doesn't mean it doesn't have profound effects. Same with toxic masculinity/femininity. Edit: Also, toxic gender roles are not a hard to define concept... and if we used students, put on the spot in an interview to define things eloquently, as a bar for "is this real", pretty much nothing is real.

Well said. I think the tendency to paint with broad strokes is really sneaky and pervasive. And I think when someone's hurt or been hurt, there's a tendency to define the "us" and "them" in broad strokes rather than take a breather and find the nuance of each situation. But it's not a new partner's job to prove to you that they are nothing like this stereotype you've built up in your mind. This. 1000x this.

are generally not super vocal and visible, thus giving too much platform to the obnoxious and narcissistic ones I think it really depends on what sources you're paying attention to, and who you surround yourself with. That means for a lot of people, they do not run into the selfish and manipulative women (or men) often and doubt their existence because, in their world, it's rare to run into that or hear about it.

Will you call out toxic feminity? We all should - that's on you too. Don't reward toxic behavior. Don't date people without setting your boundaries and ensuring they're respected. Find friends, information sources, entertainment etc. who don't normalize crap behavior - esp. if you're prone to being abused and normalizing it internally.

No kidding. Black and white views, broad strokes and practically talking about being able to sense people "auras" or whatever - red flags top to bottom. It's not just a "woah, that's unattractive" moment, but a "I will avoid interacting with this train wreck of a human all together".

t’s the pain of not getting something you really want that seems to be the enemy here, not the perception of self worth, and these stakes you will never be able to get rid of, because if you get rid of them, then by definition you don’t really want the woman, and the situation is moot. If that's truly the driving force, that's much better than a worry about rejection. If I have poor grades and I apply to all of the top tier law schools, should I be confident in acceptance? Confidence in acceptance and knowing where you'd be valued are important - if nothing else, it helps you not waste your time - but that's about it. It does not speak to your value or what you should derive your self confidence from. But confidence in yourself, and how you carry yourself comes from knowing with or without acceptance, you are someone of worth. I get that reaching that point i…

If your success rate is low, you won't be confident. Why are the two intertwined? Rejection just means you're not someone's cup of tea - not that you won't be someone else's cup of tea. A rejection means nothing about your worth as long as you're in a position to value who you are.

why would you be confident? It almost seems sort of delusional to display confidence after countless rejections; if we're being objective about it. I'd view it slightly different. Men Going Their Own Way – is a statement of self-ownership I can get behind this general notion. People (men and women) can get really f'ed over by relationships, marriage, cheating, divorce etc. and they need to separate themselves from the trauma and regroup. Problem is, you can't heal and do better for yourself if your "self ownership" starts and ends with blaming others, focusing on in-grouping/out-grouping and holding onto bitterness and stereotypes to justify that bitterness.

It's based on stoic philosophy. It's not. It claims it is, but it lacks any real understanding of Stoicism and picks and chooses quotes out of context or worse, just makes up something about Stoicism to justify views. You need at least one person in the family unit to be as stoic or as emotionally regulated as possible especially when moments of crisis arise. Of course it's helpful if you have at least one person emotionally ready and able to address a crisis, but the point of a partnership is it doesn't have to always be the same person every single fucking time there's a crisis. Instagram is a self selected population of (mostly) young people learning their way - within that, what you search for, follow, notice and interpret will feed into your confirmation bias. It hardly represents society. Find better things to do with your time.

You sound like you're setting yourself up for failure by having standards that are, indeed, arbitrary. I know "high status" and "functional" may feel well defined to you, but without being very specific, these words have no meaning outside of your view. After you talking about "functional" for several messages now, I still have no idea what your definition of functional means. For me is like an ultimate reward for being a functional adult male (because tbh dysfunctional men rarely have decent relationships, if any). But there are lots of functional adult males (and females) who do not have partners. There are certain types of dysfunction which do limit a person's ability to attract and keep a significant other... but there most definitely are some seriously dysfunctional people with horrible dysfunctional relationships with their SOs. That's a really tough cycle, and through all of it, if you're seeing things this black and white, it'll just keep you stuck. It's not all about being the same carbon copy of everyone else on this planet. Hope you love watching that divorce rate go up The divorce rate is declining in the US according to all the data out there. Even if that means we rule out the 50% of people for whom Red pill "reality" applies, thats FINE, because we literally dont want to be with those kinds of people anyway. Exactly.

Why does anyone care? You're either able to get sex with a willing partner, or you can't... or you rape someone. As long as you're not off to go rape someone, you can feel as entitled and privileged as you want.... it won't get you laid.

I'm not attracted to fat men, but I'm not repulsed by them. They just don't do it for me. Even if they did repulse me, out of courtesy I wouldn't announce on the internet that I'd throw up and die if I had to make love to a fat man. phobia, not a fear of them True, which is why I specified in another comment that our common usage of homophobia and biphobia isn't true to the latin root. It's an unfortunate choice of word, but it's what people have chosen.

So it is now a "phobia" to find something repulsive in a sex partner? Unfortunately the "phobia" in "homophobia" and "biphobia" etc. isn't really the correct use of the latin root...but by the common use of homophobia, yes, repulsed would be phobic. How would you feel if you were becoming involved with a man and he told you he had sex with children in Thailand and was a genuine pedophile? I'd be repulsed... I am "phobic" of child molesters.

not be attracted not be attracted != vomit and die Would have been easy to say "If a man i was involved with had ever had a male partner and I found out I would totally not be attracted to him at all." But no... you had to go for "repulsed" and "vomit" and "die". Kinda... over kill there. Hence yeah, bit of phobia going on there.

Attractive men are attractive to high value women, what are imagining when I say "attractive man"? And "high value" women are? Attractive? Smart? Good cooks? Have a cute smile? The attractive guys I've known who wanted just attractive (maybe sweet/loyal too) women, have no issue with finding sweet, loyal and good lookin gals to sleep with... and it pretty much seems that they do sleep with all these gals who vie for their attention. I love my friends, but some of my guy friends are totally manwh…

The higher the standards, the fewer number of people that will meet the criterion. If you're looking for a manwhore, have at 'em. They're a dime a dozen. Much rather have a guy who 1) knew what he wanted 2) searched for it and 3) didn't compromise by sleeping with whatever floated his way.

Hmm, so would the concern that male-male sex has higher risks of STDs be a factor for you? Slightly, yes, but the overall number would matter more to me (since it seems to me more partners = more vectors for infection). A picky guy who had been with one other dude (on a long term and committed basis) would be (hypothetically) a better pick for me than a guy who had a couple of one-night-stands with women. I know it is easier to hook up with a man than it is with a woman So part of it is you want…

Any attractive man in his 20s who has standards could very well have a low partner count. I've known many.

Do straight women differentiate between female and male partners? Would you rather a man have 5 male partners rather than 5 female partners? Interesting question. It wouldn't matter the gender of the partners to me. A high partner count makes me uncomfortable because of STDs and because it could be indicative of a personality trait I wouldn't like in a partner (eg. low self esteem and using sex as validation). For your friends where the gender of past partners matters... do they have a reason fo…

how much do you care about your man's sexual partner count? I care a lot. STDs and all that...especially since there's no test for HPV guys can take, and there's lots of things condoms don't protect against. A high number (3 or more in a few years) would indicate a problem to me. For any guy, I'd have to understand his reasoning for why he felt the need to sleep with multiple women. Validation? That's a self esteem problem I don't want to deal with. Just to get his rocks off? Ok, but then how do…

how does one refute the scientific process that resulted in a truth. Confirmation bias is a very real thing, especially with personal experience. There's a damn good reason why anecdotal and personal evidence doesn't count in science, and good reasons why scientists collaborate and peer review is pretty much sacred. If you've got a problem with considering how others do just fine without a bias against women, stay away from women. I think you and I agree though... if /u/kekeek keeps on this path…

Stop focusing on changing. Changing deeply held beliefs doesn't happen over night and you won't be able to force it. Surround yourself with people you can respect, who are good for you. Find men you respect who do not have issues with misogyny. If you can find women you might eventually respect, great: you might get over your misogyny. If you're unable to find women you can respect, or grow to respect, stop associating with women. There's no sense subjecting someone to your bias, and there's no …

the actual advice seems pretty much doable There is good advice on TRP...it's wrapped up in nonsense, and you have to sift through a bunch of bitterness, racism, homophobia, misogyny and general shit to get to it. It doesn't seem worth the effort to me. Focus on yourself, don't be a doormat, work out, eat well, do well professionally, find some hobbies etc. is all very good advice, but you don't need to believe in any massive generalizations about women and men to follow any of that. It's good a…

deciding whether or not to marry her is 'slut shaming'. Not sure I've ever known anyone who'd advocate that. Yeah, don't go getting all preachy or judgywudy on that gal, but you don't have to like her decisions or like her. They're her decisions. I (probably) wouldn't marry a guy with a high partner count. I don't think that's manwhore shaming.

Mainstream is the common current thought of the majority. You have completely failed to prove that misandry is mainstream. Does misandry exist? Of course. Are there examples? Of course, and you've provided some. Mainstream? Only if in your world the majority think like that. For the world, your claims don't hold, for the greater US, your claims don't hold. Maybe for your town? Your highschool? In which case, get the fuck out of there.

First, that's awful. Second, who the fuck are these people? This "The Talk" averages 1.8million viewers.... that's not even 0.5% of the US population. How is that mainstream? Why are you falling for shows/sites that are bait click? This type of trash makes money on controversy, baiting and being a spectacle. If you truly believe that the majority of women in your life appreciate this trash than either: 1) You're right, and that's awful for you. Avoid the women in your world at all cost then... t…

Ok, let's do the numbers. Give me sources/numbers of how many copies of these best sellers sold. For example, grabbing numbers from Forbes, Cosmo's circulation is listed at 3,000,000 world-wide. For comparison, Beyonce has a fan base estimated in the 100s of millions. You might be able to argue Beyonce is mainstream, but Cosmo? We're talking an order of magnitude less. I know Beyonce fans. There are crazy people all over the place. There are dumb people. There are misguided people. That's a well written answer, but to be honest, you sound like you're scared of trusting others. Egalitarianism does not mean compromise, nor does it mean you argue over every decision. It means the involved parties make a case/argument for their position if/when they feel strongly, and the best argument wins. For most stuff, I've found it's natural for one person to care more than the other. The one who cares, makes the decisions in that arena. For other stuff, you get two brains working on the…
