Ok, prosecutor here. Self defense is always proportional to the force being used against you. You cannot respond to any unconsented to & offensive touching (battery/assault depending on your state) with a barrage of punches. The fact is, she initiated contact in this video, but he escalated the force beyond the proportional force. You may typically only do what is necessary to stop the force unless you are in a protected area (your house).

Well it was the SAT's and it was a gov't institution, so it was a crime (I was just making a distinction). People are certainly allowed and encouraged to use their wealth to better their children's lives, just legally: Send them to private high school, access to better education, access to unpaid internships where they can meet people. Potentially, but there is case law where a man put a nearly invisible steel razor wire across his driveway to stop bikers from using his driveway as a thru road. Well the Bar association board isn't elected, but they take a lot of pride in their work and pride in upholding a lawyer's ethical responsibility. An attorney will be disbarred way quicker than a doctor or teacher. Considering her conviction just happened, it shouldn't take more than a few weeks to hold a forum and disbar her. I don't know how long it will take the government to act to relieve her of duty though.

Most people who try to kick the groin or stomach focus only on kicking as hard as they can and not about snapping their foot so they can snap it back. You're absolutely right. I interned for a judge this past summer and am doing it again this summer. All you have to do is show remorse for your actions and actually apologize and a lot of judges will lessen your punishment. Judges are people and they have gone through a lot to become judges. If you don't treat them with honesty and with respect, they're not going to give you the benefit of the doubt.
