1>2>3 - if I had to go without one of those then I can manage without 3 so long as he was not an actual vacuum of resources that will result in loss of security over time(eg gambling, other addiction, won't live within means).

You could and that would be accurate too. All long ago now but it shortened her life by a lot of years and left me with a lot of trust issues around money and a determination to NEVER be financially dependent on a partner.

My mum was financially abused by my dad (she worked VERY hard, he was on worker's comp but controlled all the money, racked up enourmous debts, and divorce raped when he left her for another woman) to the point where she had to shop lift to keep the family fed while he bought cigarettes and music gear - so I have seen it happen. I would consider being financially controlling one of the things that truly contributes to making it much harder to leave someone who may be abusive in other areas (agai…

I've never worried about it, the n-count has never come up in real life, not with partners, not with friends, just not ever.

It is when there is no consent, or the person is incoherently drunk or unconscious. Unfortunately any amount of alcohol really exacerbates the he says/she says nature of non-violent rapes. I don't think you are a rapist for having consensual sex with a drunk female, I DO think that you are taking a big fucking gamble though and that discretion may be the better part of valour in those circumstances.

When RP says "don't listen to what a woman says she wants", they usually include a rider that says "pay attention to what she does" . If you are someone whose actions closely align with your claims then you represent yourself accurately. Most guys are better at this than woman are - women are much ore likely to say 'the right thing' - even to believe it, while unconsciously preferring something quite different.

A benevolent dictatorship is a form of government yes? Not a one to one relationship. I can see how getting to dictate to many people could be a corrupting influence. I don't find it a very likely scenario that being a captain to a willing first mate in your primary relationship is going to tip a regular guy down the slippery slope into giggling diabolic corruption. So I don't have a plan for this scenario. It has (not that surprisingly) not come up.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/12/14 01:53 AM

You choose who you are with, yes. RPW aren't going out and letting any old guy off the street be her captain. Edit to add: You don't choose which 'orders' you follow, you choose WHOSE 'orders' you follow.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/12/14 11:26 PM

A first mate is ranked lower, that doesn't mean they are less capable, worth less or intrinsically inferior. An excellent First Officer could easily be a captain of their own ship, but they CHOOSE to be a first mate on their partner's ship.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/12/14 11:05 PM

But you see RPW are not women who want to land RP men, they are women who very usually already HAVE a good man, and want to to keep him happy and treat him well.

Attitudes/behaviours/character: overtly racist/homophobic, religious, low intelligence, poor work ethic (this may or may not be demonstrated by unemployment), debt, has an ex wife or kids, rude or abrasive to service staff or people from whom he cannot gain something, dislikes or cruel to animals, tries to big himself up with sad attempts at self aggrandizement, overly familiar or behaving with a level of intimacy inappropriate to the level of acquaintance, problem gambler, gem jewellery, living…

For a LTR a stable job or at the very least a demonstrably good work ethic will matter, but isn't going to be a factor right at the start. If the guy is otherwise attractive and interested it normally plays out as Date the bum, get increasingly frustrated by the mooching, try to change him, dump the bum - rather than seeing the likely outcome from the start and not even go there. That said, finding out a guy lives with his parents is a HUGE turn off for me and could easily make or break the chan…

Sometimes you can tell - a 'natural' has an unconscious level of congruence that takes a fair effort to master consciously, the underlying incongruence displayed by 'synthetic' alphas is often what translates into them being perceived as a jerk/asshole/creep. In real life the only people I have know who have consciously taken on an RP type of dynamic have not been very congruent, and the result is rather cringeworthy. One thing I have noticed with the couple of all natural mega-babe-magnets (tha…

I don't give it a lot of thought, but the few partners I have had have all had low numbers, with one likely (but unconfirmed) exception. He was the only unfaithful one. My husband has a low n-count.

Hmmmm, this is my perception only and it is obviously very skewed as I have never been remotely near top tier. I think the rules are basically same, I mean the RP principals still work down at the tail end, but people seem to me to be less ruthlessly dickish to other people, and less entitled to begin with. That sense of entitlement seems to be something you get trained into when people, men, society at large approves of you SO much that you get all sorts of little perq's and bonuses just for ex…

I'm no expert, so if a more experienced RPW wants to leap in and contradict me, feel free! Sharing responsibilities is fine, but the Captain/First Mate dynamic means that this would a delegation situation, with the captain listening to your input where this is relevant, and having final say. Honestly if you are generally both very collaborative it can be hard to even spot the difference because there is already mutual respect, similar decision process etc. it can be hard to see who actually MADE…

Nope, not at all - I am rather chuffed that the principals of being a good first mate/RP dynamics DO seem to work to improve things even when both parties are pretty far from being the target market. But I feel it is relevant - life is different down at the very bottom of the sexual market place; when everyone is pretty damn physically meh other things come to the fore much more, and the mental side of sex appeal becomes more relevant.

How has it improved your relationships, as a man or a woman? It has rekindled my waning attraction for my wonderful husband, and allowed me to give back some of the responsibilities I had taken on. It has introduced me to a relationship dynamic (Captain/First mate) that was a new concept to me, but which resonates deeply with me. It has helped to reinforce qualities and beliefs I have always held, but which are not popularly supported. Now I know I am not alone! It has given me a plan by which I…

If you want to provide one. I am trying to imagine what could be done/shown that would not be up for scrutiny if she later changed her mind after the fact and a 'No ' had been verbalised.

I think the problem is you went from 'kissing' which she seemed ok with, immediately to 'you're wet and I want to taste you' - which is a: oh so cringeworthy, b: too much escalation too soon. Pace Pace Pace LEAD, not Pace Lead Lead Lead Also reading that text convo made my brain bleed.

While I absolutely agree that women can sometimes say variations of no while they mean yes, gee whiz this is a dangerous game for a guy to play. If she has vocalized No and you go ahead and have sex, if she wakes up in the morning (or in 7 years) and decides it was not consensual then she has decent grounds to go ahead a file a rape complaint.

Literally once in my life, 20 years old, walking alone at night and a guy going in the opposite direction said "Nice tits!" on his way past. I was mostly confused, and faintly annoyed but not at all scared or worried. I have had a different experience where some guys in a car tailed me while I was walking alone at night for about 15 minutes without saying a word. THAT shit was scary.

I was thinking about it a bit more after my last post and can clarify. While help with the physical duties would have been nice it would not have alleviated the stress - what I need help with are things that I CANNOT do on my own and making decisions that have to be approved by both parties without any input from one half is one of those things. But apparently your problem is not boredom but leadership burden. But what do you even need to decide? This came about because of a series of events that came hot on the heels of one another. A wedding, a major death in the family, two major house moves (including selling and buying a house), my husband facing depression, ME facing depression, we each changed jobs twice, all in the space of just over two years and loads of smaller stuff too, that in a 'normal' year would have counted as the big …

I think the frustration in the two approaches is that RP is saying, Ok you have talked, now what do you DO - we have this set of instructions, what are yours? Where as BP is saying well you DO what you talked about. From my own experience the actions coming out of the talking were not helpful, because the talking was not on point. I couldn't do the right stuff, or even talk about the right stuff because I was stuck on BP red herrings.

Ultimatums come in many different forms - this was a change x or we remain apart - you had already left the scenario, if not the marriage. That is why I said closer to the blue bill ultimatum, and not that it is absolutely the x or divorce ultimatum.

Saying I need (why would the word 'total' be more readily implied than the word 'some'?) leadership to be truly happy does not equate to absolving myself of all leadership or responsibilty and reverting to a totally passive state. My world is not one of absolutes at every turn. I find the idea of insisting on incorporating learned helplessness into my relationship to be problematic in a long term sense. Me too. Good thing I never said that it was part of my belief set. I agree that this is not dread (nor would 'dread' be very applicable in this context) - this is much closer to the blue pill ultimatum than to dread in my view, and is the tool I would consider using as a last resort in a similar situation.

I haven't seen that verbally expressing your sexual needs is considered offensive or hurtful, just that it is not particularly effective on it's own. Until all the talking results in finding a set of actions to take that WORK it is just waffle. The change happens at the point where action is taken. The guy can express his needs till he is as blue in the face as he is in the balls, till action is taken by one party or another NOTHING will change.

I am sorry to hear he went through that and glad things are better now. What I am taking away from your reply is that things needed to change. You used a blue pill approach (which encompasses any and all things non-redpill) and got through it, ultimately things changed. If that had not worked, after years of trying, if there was no progress I see three options. 1: Allow things to continue in an unsatisfactory way because you have done 'everything' that can be done. 2: Dissolve the relationship b…

A) Because I can and do cherry pick. I don't have to agree with the entirety of the Bible or Christian doctrine to think "thou shalt not kill" is a pretty good idea, it doesn't automatically buy me a ticket to the 'burn the witches' parade. I think a more mature, healthy and sane approach to TRP is to not believe in it per se, but to recognize what it actually is: a framework or model that can (accurately or not) be used to describe, understand and perhaps predict human behavior. It might even be an effective model, but it's still just a model. I very much agree with this. But TRP has this cult-like attitude that their model is synonymous with reality. What you've done here is you've made a choice, a conscious decision, to respect your husband. Is that a TRP thing? I made a conscious choice to explore WHY my respect and attraction were failing, the answer to that in my case lay in red pill theory. The pattern I was experiencing is the exact patttern that RP describe as happening to the BB side of things. Does TRP have a monopoly on women respecting their men? Nope. Can I ask, if your partner decided that they were no longer going to work because they weren't in the mood, refused to look for jobs or contribute to the cost of living, and maintained this attitude in the face of your vocal objection, for years, not because of an illness or injury but because they just weren't as into it as they used to be.... As you wrote in another post: different strokes for different folks. I too have been at the pointy end in a number of life areas, but in the context of sex/relationships the blue bill approach, all the things one SHOULD do and say, the things that SHOULD be true, got in the way of the actual truth. "Just be yourself" - I have always viewed this as 'Don't pretend to be something you aren't". That doesn't mean you can't improve yourself, but rather to not suppress your natural interests, humour, beliefs etc because if you do the only people you will attract are those who won't be compatible anyhow. If you pretend to be something you aren't you get stuck with that role for as long as you can stomach it, AND potentially miss out on the person who would have liked the 'real' you... Additionally…

By 'more important' I am assuming you mean which is the more important aspect to determine whether something is manipulative. Agency. If you have agency then the outcome is something that you can take ownership of, learn from etc whether the outcome is good or bad. Succeeding or failing under your own steam is valuable. When you remove that agency, even if the outcome is good you are just the beneficiary of a benevolent puppet master. You don't have any ownership of the result, it is less likely…

So that would be very subtle, low risk, and probably lower betrayal, though that is going to be pretty context dependant... You might be delighted that someone lead you towards a good result, or you might be horribly upset that they weren't open about it. So towards the more acceptable end of the spectrum. It raises questions about who gets to decide what is best for the person being 'manipulated'. If it is really to their best interest why not make it overt? If it is because they would resist i…

I was first introduced to the concept of RP stuff around 6 or 7 years ago, by a friend who was going through a serious case of one-itis and resulting in depression. At the time I resisted it in a very typical female fashion. When I was younger the sex talk was much more aggressive/competitive within our social circle - this was largely driven by the group's gay best friend who was going through an incredible experimentation (man-slut) phase and insisted on dissecting every detail with full audience participation. I'm purple so I will answer both. I think RP can be pretty rough on guys; many seem to go through a phase where they finally know how to 'get' women, but find that they are filled with contempt for women - it seems a hollow victory. A friend of mine went through a pretty serious bout of depression when he came to that point. Fortunately for most this phase seems to pass, and honestly that looks like the only major downside from my perspective. I think feminism is responsible for women refusing t…

Couple of things that might help: Try, for a week, to REALLY pay attention to anything he does on his own, for you, for the home - anything he handles. All of that said; my husband farted in front of me on our first date, and at the time I literally thought "oh god, he's a farter! Am I prepared to date him?" (yes I …

For both sexes: reproductive autonomy. For women this means access to sex education, reliable birth control, and the option to terminate parental/financial responsibility (eg abortion and adoption). For men this means access to sex education, reliable birth control, and the option to terminate parental/financial responsibility eg (adoption).

OH, Also above I used rather heavy handed examples to show the contrast between a break/non break scenario... in a flirty scenario you would expect it to be milder. In a LTR you would HOPE it was milder, though I have seen some stories....

From what I understand, and I may be heading out of my depth, a rapport break of this kind is being used (perhaps unconsciously) to indicate her opinion that as a woman of high SMV she could walk away from this interaction, but she is open to being convinced to stay (there are levels of rapport break, I am assuming we are talking a workable level rather than at the level where she DOES walk away). The guy wants to demonstrate his high SMV to good advantage by holding his frame and indicating tha…

I think, "I am not married to this man, so I don't really give a shit about his opinion of 'women' as a collective, or this woman in particular" and I don't assume he is talking about me.

Rapport is not just a 'feeling' of getting alongness, it is a state of increased sameness when people's body language, tone, expressions, pace and much much more to greater or lesser degrees start to reflect the other person. You have established rapport when one person can change an element (Lead) and the other will follow that lead. So there is a LOT more than words involved in maintaining, building or breaking rapport. How could they break rapport? (remember these are not magic rapport breakin…

Ah, I had not read that. Rapport breaks. Perfect way to describe it. Yes, so someone deliberately (if possibly unconsciously) is breaking rapport with you to see how you respond - do you stop leading and start following to get rapport back? (TRP would call this losing frame) Or do you lead and make them follow ?(by holding frame). A rapport break describes well my explanation of being put on the back foot/being rattled or feeling tested. Those sample questions you have asked would be relevant to…

Both of those things CAN be shit tests if they done in order to push boundaries/buttons/limits or intended to rattle. Essentially here the measure is whether the guy in question feels 'tested'.

In my personal circle of friends money is only important in the sense that the guy has to have SOME kind of regular income. So long as it is steady it can be quite low (assuming he has other qualities going for him) . Once a guy's income gets spotty or dries up girls tend to freak the fuck out because all sense of security is gone. Suddenly you are working without a net. This is particularly rough on guys who lose a job, or find themselves between jobs for extended periods. Way way better to do …

I read a description on TRP that said something like - if a woman says or does something with the intention of rattling you, putting you on the back foot etc then it is pretty much a test, to see how you handle being rattled/put on the back foot. How you respond let's her know whether you are someone who can easily be made uncomfortable, or whether you are someone who can stay congruent ('frame') in the face of various levels of obstruction/challenge. That makes sense to me, and generally I woul…

If it went down as she says, legally, Yes. Which is crappy because I don't believe the guy in question had any idea he was 'raping' someone. 7 years later.... I think that indicates a LOT of processing the event, and that potentially means that over time it has become rather distorted. From what she has said it is clear that she felt bad/gross afterwards and it is entirely possible that she has replayed that night over and over so often trying to make it fit with feeling bad that it has become d…

I was lucky enough to notice this pattern in myself before I met my husband. I have had a strict no-picking-fights, no need-to-talks, no constructive criticism, no bringing up ANYTHING that was bothering me in my relationship during my 'danger zone' for the last 8 years. I am so grateful looking back at the shit I didn'tstart. The absolutely ridiculous trivial shit that I so desperately wanted to bring up right now but managed put off just for a few days, only to completely forget about it becau…

Old terminology actually, 'perks' is the modern abbreviation of perquisites. I have been on a historical fiction jag and it bleeds into my language.

Fat unattractive women miss out on the perq's of being attractive. Some of these women decide to change themselves in order to enjoy the perq's of being attractive. A lot of them decide that other people and society should change so that they can enjoy the perq's of being attractive. That and the 'damaged' factor. Loads of the women involved in troll-feminism are in some way 'damaged' - bullying, abuse, terrible parental role models; some of it is big stuff and some of it is stuff that just happ…

I am and wish to remain ChildFree, and in contrast to your experience of being confronted and belittled about wanting to be a SAHM, I get confronted and belittled about NOT wanting be one. The current environment seems to be that not only can you "have it all" ie raise a family AND invest heavily in a career, but that it is the only acceptable option. Deciding that you don't actually want both is really looked down on, whichever direction you choose to go.

I was never feminist at ALL, and was strongly influenced in my relationship style by a couple of fictional characters, and it turns out that in hindsight they were some pretty red pill styles. I always enjoyed being domestic, cooking, cleaning, gardening etc... so my advice to myself is less red-pilly and more lifey. Don't get fat! Forget all the 'love me for who I am' bullshit, people treat you like shit when you are fat, and while you CAN lose weight you will NEVER get the never-been-fat look …

TThis is so true. One year my husband gave me a water filter for my birthday. It took me aback at the time when he asked me what kind I wanted, I was tempted to say I didnt want a water filter of all things at all. But I told him the kind I preferred and in due course it arrived. Of the kind I had nominated, a ceramic drip filter system, he had perfectly chosen one to suit my aesthetic taste, locally and ecologically made and told me at length about how much thought and care went into its choosi…

I make less money, but for the last 5 years have contributed significantly more to the mortgage and household expenses, simply because it matters more to me, to the point where I would RATHER put my money into the mortgage than buy myself something. However my husband just (yesterday) got a really quite large raise and is going to be putting more into the mortgage (more than I earn!) from now on. I am delighted of course, but also feel a bit weird. It feels really vulnerable to not know I am hau…

Spring here, and I had an ADO and today was the first really nice day - so I have been spring cleaning like crazy. Have deep cleaned the house and started on the yard and shed. Getting the garden prepped for Spring planting (not quite warm enough to plant out yet) and get some more garden beds installed. Big job coming up is installing wall shelves int he shed to free up some space so the home gym can get set up and I can get back to working out!

My husband and I are RIDICULOUSLY compatible... probably 90-95%.... sometimes this means we are too similar for our own good, but most of the time it means someone that you just don't get sick of being around. That little bit of difference helps us keep learning new things and trying new stuff (and generally ends up meaning we have even more in common).

My husband and I each came up with 3 things that REALLY mattered - and we each got veto rights on the things we cared about most, and so I got input on those things that mattered to him. The rest I would basically say " So I am thinking I will xyz, and if he objected he could chime in. We ended up going with quite of lot of his ideas because turns out the day mattered to him a lot (even more than to me)!

Great place to start - foundation garments. EG get excellent, professionally fitted bras. These do wonders for your shape and posture on their own. Check out something like http://trinnyandsusannah.com/ for tips on how to dress for your shape... Try out different things till you find a look that is flattering AND you can wear congruently. This can take practice, and especially at first if people are used to seeing you dress a particular way you will get a lot of attention for changing your look …

Hello, I am new to RedPillWomen, and trying to make myself more feminine and appealing too. Sounds like we are starting from a similar place - I am fat, not very girly at all in my presentation (though I have girly tastes/hobbies/habits) and these two are my biggest challenges; I also never finished highschool due to anxiety, agoraphobia, eating disorders and other mental health issues (ok, this is also pretty challenging!). I am already married and while things are pretty darn good I would like…

Nigella Lawson http://www.nigella.com/recipes/valentines-desserts Plus if you youtube some of her cooking shows you will get to see how gloriously feminine and seductive she is when she cooks. Also if you master the art of baking a piecrust and making a custard filling you can turn virtually any fruit into an amazing tart/flan. You can use bottled fruuit for this as well and that can be another great way to use up fruit before it spoils, and still get to use it later on. (I love preserving).

I have had pretty serious insomnia for most of my life and only got in under control in the last 8 months or so (which by the way has made an INCREDIBLE difference to my life) so I do know how important getting enough sleep is. I have spent a fair number of nights on the couch when I have given up on sleep and my tossing and turning gets to the point where it bugs my husband. I would not like to have separate beds (would love a bigger bed though, the cats are becoming problematic bed hogs) and I…

I have always taken on the responsibility of all the household chores, even with flatmates. I enjoy housework and I get a real sense of accomplishment from knocking off my to-do list. For me I have not had a good weekend unless I have 'been productive', which effectively means done all my chores. I also really enjoy yard work and do all the mowing of the lawns, bins etc. I pay all the bills and so on. I get irritated is someone does a chore and does it badly, so I would much rather do it all and…

We don't argue much and every time we have it has been due to poor communication. And by that I mean ME being indirect, doing shit like being passive aggressive, sulking, shit like that instead of being clear. I did a bit of that in the beginning because that was what I thought I was supposed to do and learned pretty quick that it always makes things worse. Then I went through a phase of being shirty and resentful because I was applying MY rules to HIM. Also a dumb idea. So the main thing was st…

Baked eggs: these are a perfect breakfast that also works as a great 'dinner' for him when he gets home from work: you can prep it even the night before and whack it in the oven to be ready to eat when/shortly after he gets in. There are a myriad of recipes. Go for a GOOD quality cast iron skillet and you can't go wrong. It is also pretty easy to make home made breakfast pockets, which again can be prepped ahead and just put in the oven in the morning. The crock pot, and home made pies (to rehea…

For me it is about who wants the results. If the house is a mess I won't enjoy 'relaxing' anyhow, I would rather put in 30min to get the house tidy and then relax. I love yard work so I do most of that too.

This is something I really need to work on. It comes from a place of insecurity, I really want to please my husband so I often think he is 'settling' for one option when I could provide one he'd like better. I need to just allow him to choose, have it be his choice and follow through on that. Thank you!

Taming of the Shrew is a favorite play of my husband and myself - Petruchio doesn't just tame Kate, he teaches her how to play and to lighten up generally, she learns to express herself by means other than anger and outrage (which was largely created from the frustration of having an irritating tick of a younger sister, who was none-the-less everyone's favorite). They have great compatibility and by then end form an excellent partnership, united against the others who are shown to have little re…
