Point 8 made me laugh good. We're a practical bunch at times and that is a fun example of that.

Mostly true. It's a strange atmosphere in here at times, as there's a strong emphasis on confirmatory biology but any evidence of biology counter to the central tenants is dismissed or skeptically (and, often, cynically) reviewed. Sugar is a good example of it. Let's start with smoking for a moment. We know smoking is bad. Evidence is out there suggests vaping is bad. Yet, there are still doctors (i.e., doctoral-educated individuals in human physiology) who smoke. Why? Clearly they aren't "autis…

FRs are handy once the understanding exists; issue was FRs showing gross misunderstanding of basic principles, blatant misogyny (popular belief that is what TRP is, but certainly is not; just a different set of priorities/aims), and self-congratulatory hey, I got laid! tripe.

No one makes you anything. You always have a choice. Letting someone else dictate who or what you are is what most people here flippantly call "beta".

Testosterone has been shown to improve cardiovascular health, more normal sleep cycles, more lean mass, lower amounts of belly fat, and greater focus. If we are going to believe in biology, this part is crucial. It is as important in optimizing yourself as going to the gym (which, in turn, increases testosterone levels!).

Be honest, though: you could cherry pick a few posts out of this subreddit that would still make you blush. No person is perfect and most of the outcry against this sub and our way of approaching the world is weighed against some kid's expectation of us being perfect. The outcry articles against our point of view are rarely written by someone who is older than 25, and if they are, they are some male feminist type who thinks that sexual strategy will get him laid (and too often turns him into the…

If you distill it down, what is being asked of people when the classic advise is proposed is will you sacrifice?. That is the honest core to this advise. Even if you aren't sacrificing time to improve physique, you can apply this principle in a different manner. Here's my argument for venting: venting shows you care. Take that energy and reappply it to the real problem and you'll start to find success.

Good place to be and I think you're touching on a hallmark of this sub here: compassion. As often as discussion here is about the self and willingness to best other men, most of us intrinsically understand that this is a shared struggle and through community (and enjoyment of competition) we can thrive. As a mental health professional, I can say that with significant life struggles, depression can set in, but there are often predisposing factors. It's close to the chicken-egg argument. I think n…

What makes them terrible is their unwilling to sacrifice to move themselves ahead. Like /u/MattAnon said: "it's all women's fault". They vent without drive to change the outcome next time. They've chosen something that is comfortable in the now over giving up that comfort now for something better later. That, in essence, is the difference between unsuccessful TRP neophytes and Incel.

By comparison, we're pretty much Men's AMA. That sub was miserable, misanthropic, and whiny. Still, what made it exceptionally worse, were the constant comments involving threatening rape, abuse, torture, and a still-long list of graphic, uninvited acts against women. We might have a few unpopular opinions here, but we have decent discussion which does not immediate devolve into rape threats on the regular. It was a cesspool of self-perpetuating frustration. Here, we give ways to get better. In …

You're 18. Your brain hasn't even finished maturing, let along your body. Understanding comes from action, consideration, and reflection. At 18, you haven't done enough of that yet. This "crisis" you're feeling is the expectations and pressures to be headed towards a major goal that you do not even know exists yet. Do not start that off by assuming that goal is a long term, committed relationship, and through that relationship you will find yourself content. (Side note: Heaven talk? Here? Really…

Simple steps to keep in mind to stay on the path: patience, not passivity; be default aggressive; reflect on decisions, contrasting the ones you made with the ones the bold you would make. Another thing we often struggle with is the inability to detach. Personally, I find that many lack this skill because the do not have the perspective of foresight to plan further into the future. To remedy this, identify where you want to go, and write that down. Write down the steps you can take to succeed an…

Own the book since it first came out. Excellent stuff for crystallizing many concepts that most of us know about, but were not applying consistently. The Jocko Podcast is fantastic for taking the lessons of the book and having them applied over, and over, and over. Good guests. Good book readings. First 25 minutes of #58 is rough. Be warned now. Don't go Rambo. But it's okay to go Winchester.

Are you familiar with the term "OODA loop"? Observe, orient decide, act; repeat. When you observe something, you can choose to orient to it. Sometimes the best strategy is to not; other times, you must. Orienting means switching your focus to some degree towards it. Deciding is the process by which you use to figure out what to do next. Finally, acting is executing that decision. You repeat this as you observe how your action has changed the scenario. When you observe someone throwing trash out …

It's simple stuff: emotions can be secondary processing of stimuli. You can choose whether or not to allow your emotions to colour your perceptions--which is what makes you "sensitive". This really is the line along which the (questionable) Meyer's-Briggs personality test's fourth dimension is based on. Take a quick example: watching sports. If you are a massive hockey fan and support the Canucks, like myself, watching the Canucks play elicits a different experience than watching the Flyers take…
/r/TheRedPill30/01/17 09:07 PM

Here's something to remember: being perceptive is advantageous; sensitive is allowing emotions to either colour or bias your perceptions. Unmitigated daily discipline in all things, including focus on emotional regulation (i.e., frame).

Thanks, brother! Really great support and advice. We went with a national brand and have had it for a few months now. I love it: firm beds are the only way for me. Currently, I'm 2.5 years since surgery, 14 months since last re-injury. Nothing terrible, but I lift doing the Jocko style (up early, hard workouts, always different) and getting gains while also protecting--and improving!--the back. That's right from the contract. It's a line of credit with no interest, so long as minimum payments are made.
/r/TheRedPill02/11/16 11:44 PM
1

No, it does not actively allow us to earn more money. (Yes, it allows me to earn more money, because I can sleep without being unable work the next day). No fees if paid off early or on additional payments made. A minimum is due each month, and failing to pay the whole minimum means we are charged the interest (though, we still retain the interest free status, until three such minimums are missed). The minimum is set to auto pay.
/r/TheRedPill02/11/16 11:30 PM
3

Question: what about purchase like a bed? Owe on it for 24 months, but no interest. Payments around $100 a month. Factor it into "essential items" (thus avoiding the interest ding for the month) or look to pay it off aggressively to free cash? Note: essential purchase due to major back injury, otherwise would have gone much cheaper or no new bed at all.

This is good for the sub. The sub here isn't all about game and frame; there's a fair amount here that focuses on self improvement, the psychology of success and happiness, fitness tips (especially around motivation versus discipline), and how to find balance in a relationship, notably around establishing boundaries, expectations, and reciprocity. While all I said might seem strange, it's merely because I did not use some of the common jargon found here. In all, congratulations to those of us he…

The question isn't if he struck or choke them. That was established. The inquiry was whether that act was consensual and, if told it was not, if he continued to do so. The evidence presented was suspect. Ghomeshi assaulted these women, but it is unclear if the women agreed to it. Is it consent if, after the assault, the women returns to the man for another encounter, writes love letters, or stays in constant contact? As always, I want to add a bit about ego here. Of all the things that will harm you, your ego is the most likely. Over exertion, continual comparison to others, and cutting corners because you think you've made it far enough will render this journey pointless. To address this, one must remain focused on short term goals. This starts with remembering you are what you do; believing you are special, unique, more gifted or more fortunate than others will undermine you. This process is unforgiving an…

Certainly a fair point, one that can be missed by people. Being an uncontrolled and belligerent fool, challenging every one and any thing doesn't lead to the positive kind of growth I feel people are looking for in their lives (and sometimes come to subs like this to find). There is something to be said about challenging your personal choices, however, as having to justify your beliefs to yourself leaves you more grounded and ultimately more decisive with how you will handle problems associated …

Read the side bar through. For me, it has been about discipline. Setting clear, unambiguous goals for myself and following through with them. All too often we are put in padded, climate controlled boxes of comfort. So comfortable that when we finally have the opportunity to leave, we choose not to. Making the choice to get uncomfortable helps you challenge yourself. Overcoming challenges builds character, builds confidence, builds aptitude, and builds you. An important practice in the work towards the destruction of one's ego. Your ego will destroy you, it will tell you that you are more important that you are. It will demand things of you that make no sense, like fame, money (important note: money and wealth are related but are not the same), and personal beauty. Your ego is evil. Death controls your ego but not you; your ego fears death, as your ego fears loss of power or control. You do not have that fear. Ridding your ego makes you stronger, m…

It would seem to me that full legalization, including health and safety regulations for the industry, would be the most direct route to empowering women in the trade. It would create entrepreneurs, not more victims. There would be safe work environments for both the prostitute and the John. After all, pornography is legal, and the difference between porn production and prostitution is a filming permit. If the end goal is to protect women then legalization is the most direct and most effective ro…

We all know what's going to happen here: even with a 60% pass rate of women who take the physical exam, (which I'm guessing isn't many), more unequipped and unprepared women will be allowed in. When the first major failure to perform due to their lack of physical strength by the female fire fighters, it won't be because they lacked the strength to remove the people or take down a strategic wall, it will be chalked up to "uncontrolled circumstances". Any time someone questions the physical aptitu…

The objections raised by other parties are not the concerns raised by individuals like Frezza. Those who attempt to portray this simply as girl whom are too drunk being assaulted and seeking justice are not viewing the whole narrative. This example is heinous and does deserve swift action--I cannot think of a person who believes sex with an incapacitated person is okay. The issue raised by Frezza here rears its head when one drunken night at a frat house many moons ago can be used as blackmail a…

You're looking at this in a capitalist manner: demand increases, so production increases. That's incorrect. The desire for the material never changes. The material might be produced at a greater level and in a wider variety (e.g., dinosaur rape fantasy books), but the desire for it has never changed.

Probably to the same degree as pornography warps male expectations of women. Probably similar to the way which a good fiction (e.g., Flemmings's Bond series) can change your perspective. While there are many dimorphic elements between men and women, including media consumption preferences, I do not believe that the effects of the act of consumption are different. Escapism rarely translates into actual behavioural changes (e.g., video game violence), but may influence sensitivity to similar conte…

This is a great video which takes solid, peer reviewed research and describes how there can be confusion between men and women in understanding consent. Often, we rely on non-verbal communication. This can be used as a direct counter to the bullshit of "radical consent" or actual physical consent agreements as a way to prevent rape.

That was not even amusing to read. What are the freelance cheques for? Children's books writing? People don't have feminists because they are women, they dislike individuals who cannot communicate intelligently.

Those calling for further political correctness are doing a disservice to the people they claim to be standing up for. They strip the individuality out of every follower, lump them into a singular, homogeneous group, and then hand out a stack of victim cards. While discussions here can get heated (stubbornness exists), they are wholly different from that of the Social Justice Warriors in that this space, when within itself, values arguments based on the statements and actions of that individual-…

The first step of redressing one's grievances is to assess the situation and figure out if it is a government problem or a you problem. If he doesn't work something out with his employer, then he is the one that is allowing the his employer abuse the law and steal his wages from him.

White knight doesn't get it. Chivalry is dead because women killed it. They wanted equality and this is it. They don't like it? Well, you can't expect knights when there are no princesses. Also, what the fuck was with the idea that only women dictate the trends? That women need to parent their male peers into acting 'better'? Give made the right choice. It comes down to the belief that we do or do not have free will. If you believe we do because we can choose what pop we want, then you're bluepill. It's recognizing that your body craves sugar, and the brain is already asking for pop before your consciousness ponders 'what kind?'. You'll have doubts. Hope is not the panacea that people think it is. Hope and faith tend to go hand in hand, fueling intangible delusions. Not dissimilar to faith, giving up on a belief system and way of life never easy. You will run into things that make you want to go back to the comforting beliefs. I saw the movie. There are a couple of pro-TRP points within the narrative, but I wouldn't call it a true "TRP movie". Don Jon's PUA skill is illustrated as being successful on a couple of levels: he is fit, grooms well (if you're into that kind of style?), keeps is place clean, and is ambitious about his job and personal aspirations (i.e., he's going to school to improve himself and his chances of promotions/advancement). I'm upvoting this because I see it as an example of seeing what you want to see. There is not enough information here about the functioning of the relationship as it was happening to conclude that he is/was confident (e.g., appears clingy), that the blow jobs were done because she wanted to as compared to an act of hopeful reciprocity, or that he was an actual alpha who was dictating the terms of the relationship. This is a reach when it comes to applying TRP theory.
/r/TheRedPill16/06/14 02:48 AM

I mean, this is TRP. Are we not aware that women are tempted on an emotional level? It's not binary. Logically telling her cheating is bad and telling the other guy isn't going to flip a switch and prevent her from cheating. All the normal factors will still be at play. In the end you still have to be a man of value yourself. This is the crucial point. Acknowledging the emotional reasons as to why we would or would not tell the effected does not change the fact that the woman may or may not lose…

This is the point I have put to my many educated, intelligent, and successful female friends. In too many cases I'm met with the opposition to TRP because of the perception that it is about "douchey guys trying to get laid". Ultimately, if TRP individuals--so that I may include women in this statement--act with these sets along with humanist ideals (e.g., t…

My wife made a similar point. She's a TwoX subscriber and enjoys the community for it being an open forum for women to talk about their experiences. Touchy/feely, sure, but it is there just as TRP is there for men to do whatever it is we really do. TRP will be TRP and will be judged just the same, regardless of how popular TwoX gets. After all, women get just as sick of beating a dead horse as men do (e.g., "TRP = misogyny filth den").

Dropping words like "indoctrinate", making sweeping statements akin to "reddit becoming tumblr" and implying that a highly specific--and wholly underrepresented form of feminism within the twoX sub--is the way Reddit as a whole wants to move is both reactionary and overly simplified. In the event it was handpicked, I believe a more reasonable explanation would be that it was chosen by an individual or two, not a decision of an overwhelming number of moderators or administrators. Someone made a case for it, was convincing, and so it was done. People will read it, form the own opinion, and move on. That sub is not a gold mine of anti-men or neo-feminist propaganda. If you fear monger over feminism, you're going to have a bad time. That's all there is to it. TRP is not about denouncing feminism. The aim is to have our view rationally presented in a calm manner. Some will buy into it, others won't. Their reasons will be their own and we have should not care what their reasons are. /r/mensrights fear mongered and expressed wholly anti-feminists views. The take away from this article is clear: it's aimed at getting the "attractive 23-year-old girls with unlimited sex options". It is the ideal strategy for those instances. And really only for those instances. In other words, the clown strategy works for care-free women, not for post-carousel/pre-wall women; rather, women who have LTR value to you will be less swayed by this approach, as it frames you as "the clown". You're in trouble at this point. It sounds like you've already put her on a pedestal. Either she is good enough now for the LTR or she isn't. Plates are plates and they remain plates. Good read about the meta/end game. Unfortunately, it does nothing to address the dozens of awkward failures that will happen during one's ascent. That is where confidence comes in. The only kind of confidence we should pay attention to is that which comes from within. OP is right about the hard work at the gym. That hard work should inspire confidence. Greater confidence does lead to better execution. More success begets more confidence. Confidence, might not be key, but it is vital. Work out. G…

I have been having this debate in another thread. Fit and jacked are not the same. All men should be fit because of the obvious advantages in the marketplace and in your own daily life. But fitness should go along with the development of other aspects of yourself: reading, cooking, woodworking, whatever. If you still have free time, then you can work on getting jacked up. Think of it as time in to SMV out. 12 hours working out and 8 hours becoming a better guitar player will net more SMV than 20…

I believe you missed my point or my point was not clear enough. I am not saying to give up on lifting. Rather, you should be fit. Always. Before you start spinning plates and all the way through your LTR+. The benefits of lifting are not beyond me. However, I do not believe one should only focus on being fit and expect the rest to come through. Let me put it this way: 1) get fit. The kind of fit that requires 10 to 12 hours a week working out. I think that's the major point about lifting and body: if you don't have other skills are don't care to have them, lift. Get jacked! Although, that is a shallow skill set, which might hurt you later when you decide to find the LTR+. You're assessment with the 2-3 for being in good shape is spot on. Those are fair points regarding the individual (i.e., success in fitness). However, they can exist entirely without the need for competition or peak physicality. Dressing one's self to their body works well even when you are not perfectly built. I think you are confusing success (i.e., controlled, long desirability) with temporary lust. Thanks for the props. Competition comes up frequently when speaking about success within RP. The only consistent competition is yourself. All other sources are variables that are tied to the current marketplace, things that you really can't control. That should be motivation enough for people to remain focused on improving themselves over being the best at X in the marketplace.

Fair enough. I would emphasize that it is internal and used to drive yourself. Never fixate on one gym bro's bench weight or another's abs and think 'if I get there...'. Competition may drive you forward, but it is a cycle that will keep you locked into being better than another man, losing sight of what you should really be doing: improving yourself for yourself.

For those reading this, a fallacy was stated in the FR: do not compare yourself to others! The core of RP is not about being better than others; rather, it it about getting a better you to get the things you want. Using this FR as an example, /u/dotzie points out how women are comparing you to other men in a gym environment. He even goes on to point out that there are economically equal men that 'looked way better than you' in the same gym talking to those women. While this might be true, it is …

I don't see how, as a community, we can emphasize the importance to being responsible, honest, and truth seeking, but turn that on its head when a story about a woman getting knocked up comes around to the view that a man should keep it in his pants. Don't cry 'feminist tyranny' when that line is used. It is up to you too make sure your seed isn't controlled by her. If you don't want kids, don't do anything that makes that possible. Take the fucking condoms with you when you leave your plates' p…

Onus is on you to understand on statistics work. Not others to sit you down and explain it to you. In brief, only because I have the time, the vast majority of single mothers are economically disadvantaged, creating a less stable, structured, and stimulating environment for their children. As a result, things like boredom and a lack of supervision come together to create a situation where kids get into trouble. Another important note is children who encounter the law at a young age are far more …

You're ignorance of statistics is showing. It's reactionary bullshit to skew stats to your favour. That's the opposite of RP.

Serotonin doesn't cause pattern building behaviour as it isn't part of the feed back loop (i.e., nucleus acumbens, ventral tagmental area).

Contrarianism is central to being a RP. People are going to try call you on it--white knights especially--but will be mostly unwilling to listen until they are willing to consider the RP life for themselves. If friends cannot see the value in questioning everything, then they are simple friends. The kind that hold you back to the past and to comfort. GTFO and find people that help you move forward!

That is a core tenant of feminism. It's just that some women think they have the monopoly on feminism.

Example of why relativism is terrible. TRP doesn't give a shit about relativism. It's focus is on objective fairness. The kind that transcends the bullshit of emotion or tradition.

It means to treat them as humans. The real test is how you handle the backlash for doing exactly that: do you fold to the pressure for not showing a inclination to preferential status (BP) or do you stand consistently by your actions/choices to treat women exactly how the deserve to be treated (RP)?
