Home gardening for your own fruits and vegetables isn't that onerous a task. I've even had lots of luck growing things from seeds in produce, though that's probably due to ignorance: nobody told me they were all hybrids and wouldn't grow true, so they all just...did. :-) ♡ Granny

The last war was 80-odd years ago, not 100. Back then in North America the maternal mortality rate was something like .3%, so not bad for that time. The latest statistics available for the US, from 2019, show the rate as .002% by comparison. ♡ Granny

I'm an old, disabled woman. I've stood on trains many times waiting for seats to clear out, no big deal, back then I could cope with my cane or frame. What really gets me, though, is the one time a heavily pregnant woman was obviously struggling to stand and nobody offered her a seat -- so I called out to her that she could have mine. What most people forget about Carry Nation is that she did this in a dry state. There wasn't supposed to be any liquor anywhere, yet it was being sold openly.
