She gave you the best gift a woman like her can give: freedom. The feelings will pass quicker than you expect them to. Stay strong!

I scrolled through the thread and just saw my mother, over and over. She and my father had a nasty divorce when I was young. Previously I believed that they hated each other. Now I understand the truth: my dad was an average joe and my mom was and is a vindictive psychopath. At least she inadvertently gave me the gift of clarity: after seeing what I saw (and taking decades to see the darker parts), I will never fucking marry.

It can make you or break you, like most things. I was raised by one - the truth is that you pay for it up front, and if you can make it through youth shouldering the whole resentment package of being a late bloomer, you can bloom into something stronger than the average BP joe. I'm working on it. It's not easy, but it's worth it. I have to remind myself every time mom shows excitement over my work progress or 'wow, you're working out, that's my baby boy all tall and handsome, blah blah"...I have…

Proxy violence boils my blood - mainly because it is by definition swathed in the garb of a woman's real best friend: plausible deniability. And then we turn around and have to listen to bullshit about how violence has a gender...christ.

Occam's Razor tells me these girls just party all week and never sleep, so they need coffee to actually make it to class once in a while. I didn't start drinking coffee until I had a 9-5 after I graduated. Like you said - it's easy to get enough sleep in college if you don't dick around and waste time with your work.

Such an uproar for what naturally takes place in the thoughts of every red-blooded male alive. It was a foolish thing to document this reality for others to see, and these guys will sadly pay a hard price for it. "Think as you like, but behave like others."

I'm not sure how you came to this conclusion from my post. When I say this is damaging for us, I don't mean it in a 'let's all be friends and be nice to women' kind of way. Concern trolling? Buddy. Listen: When I say this is damaging, I mean that this behavior, regardless of OP's prerogatives, is another drop in the bucket of women's perpetual, undying sense of entitlement. I keep seeing this Tinder date gone wrong field report. All the juicy details of a lying whore who's 3-4 points under her profile pic, who's a rampant SJW, who's a recent addict, whose dad left when she was young, et fucking al. So we're clear: you did damage by wasting your time with her. Not damage to her, but damage to you and to us as men, collectively. She knows she's a piece of shit who crops her photos expertly. Should probably take this over to the asktrp sub. But I'll give you a freebie, because this one didn't take much effort: You whined like a bitch. I don't know the context, and it doesn't matter after you unloaded paragraphs on her. Her responses were cunty, but I'm not convinced she's acting that way because she's just a cunt. She's probably tired of the endless qualifying, the emotions and the explanations that are never asked for. Read the sidebar. Learn, then try again. And for fuck's sake, s…

The most sobering thing to realize is that the most convincing fictions are the ones woven to disguise the paths that lead inexorably to reality. I don't think most people who are taught to hate this subreddit understand what it's about. Not even close. A large percentage of people who think they understand TRP have never visited. Another large percentage has visited, found an excerpt to satisfy an immediate confirmation bias, and then proceeded to leave forever. A smaller percentage, I suspect,…

We call feminism a global shit test and say that women screen for alpha traits, but I'm beginning to feel like a lot of what women do is screen you to make sure you're not a manchild. He pouts and storms off after a soft rejection? Well, she knows all she needs to know, and I can't blame her. I don't get shit tested often. It was an alien concept to me before I arrived at TRP. The reasons for this can be different for every man, but for me, it stems from the needlessness I have for a woman in my…

Truth is, dude, the fact that you put up with this girl for as long as you did is the reason HB5s are insufferable harpies today. That the date ended in failure will not affect her ego because you let it go on for as long as you did. Her hamster won't have to work hard to twist it on you as a cheap date who wasted her time. In fact, the hamster was doing that in front of you in real time as you recorded. To everyone: if a girl, or anybody for fuck's sake, opens with how sweaty you are and implie…

I'm slowly moving away from my family too. They still call, they do the passive aggressive texting games and triangulation (my sister is usually the unwitting pawn there), but it's gotten exponentially better now that I'm on my own. It's sad. I mean that. I will regret not having a relationship with my mother. But as it stands, I feel uneasy around her and it's not good for me. So maybe someday in the future, ten, twenty years from now, she'll understand why. I'm not holding my breath, though.

Nope. And that's the biggest punch in the face of all, isn't it? The fact that her little story ruined me for years and it probably wasn't even true. Never mind that she implored me to never tell anyone, as if the element of secrecy made it seem more real. I ate that up as an angsty teen; what angsty teen wouldn't? Reality is, me telling other people about her rape would have come back to her quickly. Everything about my mother is self preservation. Narcissism: protect the identity at all costs.

I've heard nearly all of these, and the scary thing is that men/boys today do not hear the underlying connotations. The chief reason for this is simple: there was never a man to tell them how to decipher what women mean when they speak. I was raised by a single mother whose power talk was consistently a punch in my face as a kid. I couldn't compete. How could I? I was a fucking kid. For her it was like beating a kid at chess when the kid has no concept that a game is even being played. All the k…

To hijack the libtard flavor of the month, broadway's new hit Hamilton, "Projection is projection is projection is projection is projection." Women are projectors, almost constantly projecting their emotional states onto the world. Reminding myself of this regularly gave me a constructive way to build amused mastery - just look at everything a woman says, especially her shit tests, as a reflection of some behavior or insecurity within her. It becomes laughably easy to let it roll off when you re…

I have a group of friends like this - every hypothetical or culture war debate that brews in my head takes place on a mental image of their patio. I've come to associate my internal discord on these topics with their home, and that thought has sobered me recently. They're good people in the most casual sense, but it has become clear to me that there are boundaries I can never cross in their presence. There are topics I can never discuss and revelations that we will never share because they are s…

Mixed thoughts. One one hand, I can appreciate the desire to end a relationship on good terms; no need to burn bridges, right? On the other hand, having been dumped, I can sympathize with the anger/pain. One time I met a 20-yr-old at a potluck with some friends and we hit it off (I was 24 at the time, a few years out of college). I took her to dinner, did the evening out thing, and we fucked for a few weeks. Tight blonde, loved smoking and getting freaky, zero complaints from me. But I didn't se…

Fuck that. I was so happy to read that she got caught and was actually trying to get Jarrett to come help her, like she gave a shit about him. Rage quickly followed when I saw her happy little family photos x years later. 6+ blondes usually don't have a problem getting what they need in the world, no matter what they've done or who they've fucked. Poor sap. He'll never know what happened in Florida that weekend.

Great response. As has been mentioned here, this technique also works on women in your family, especially Mom. My birthday was last weekend, and I received a lot of calls/texts. While it was nice to see the love, I really wanted the day to myself away from my phone. I had a great day outside, sporadically answered texts when I felt like it, and overall enjoyed myself and some well-deserved solitude. I get done kayaking late afternoon and see my mom has called, trying to wish me happy birthday. I…

I am curious why it has not appeared as a topic. Is it being censored here? I doubt it. The kid fucked up, I won't defend him. I don't think TRP wants to either. But I'm fucking tired of seeing his face everywhere. You'd think if people were so triggered by rape like they say they are, they wouldn't want to stare into a bloated rapist's eyes every time they look at a news feed. Noise tends to reveal impotence, though. No one can really do anything about the rapist or the judge whose verdict they…

Anger is treated as a phase here, but it will come and go. Some days will be better than others. I know what you're feeling, that overwhelming sensation. Like Zod's helmet coming off on Earth for the first time - he can't handle the new, wild input. His senses are going haywire. But like Zod, you can learn to control the new senses that are coming online. You can learn to integrate the things you're learning to see and let them inform your behaviors. The red pill requires the anger response, at …

The very idea that Hillary Clinton is more charismatic than Donald Trump is pure, unadulterated Newspeak. Absolutely. You see in Slate's absurd article that if the truth is inconvenient, it becomes necessary to redefine the terms. Progressives deal in the manipulation of language because reality is often an unwelcome slight on their enlightened visions of a greater world. Now that a total husk of a political crony has been coronated as their figurehead, they'll ride the woman card all the way to…

There's more going on here than a simple disagreement about vegan vs non-vegan lifestyles. Like another guy in the thread said, if Brad Pitt offered to take this HB8 on a hunting trip, she'd be falling over herself to learn how to use a rifle. "I would never even associate myself with someone who would post a picture of their kill on facebook." This was a test, a call for you to either verify that you're not that person and thus validate her view, or to show her that you are 100% that person and…

It's weird that as I move away from my own Nice Guy phase of life, I begin to see that the problem wasn't with how I treated women, it was about how I treated everyone. Struggles with women were just the catalyst that got me looking in the direction of TRP. For example: I helped out the friend sometimes financially because this was what good men do No, it isn't. Giving financial support to trashy single mothers your wife hangs out with? Your wife asked you to help this friend, I'll bet. I'm sure…

I think during our 3rd time having sex, I told her that if she sees anyone else I would not meet with her again because I wanted that loyalty and couldn’t stand sleeping with a girl so regularly if she was sleeping with other guys First and last mistake, nothing after this matters. An ideal response would have been some form of, 'I don't own you, I don't give a shit,' if the topic of other guys came up. Show her it doesn't matter to you that other guys are competing, even if it bothers you insid…

No reason to be frustrated - Strong Lifts is what inspired me to start adding the weight! I just didn't want to start with an empty bar, so I set my goals from where I was.

It's interesting, because being 6'3" generally hasn't done jack shit for me with women by itself. The IOIs I got in this post were so unusual for me that I came here to write about them - it's not something I'm used to. Size helps for sure. But if there's no dominant, masculine frame behind that size, women get confused/turned off pretty quickly. I think that's what's happened to me a LOT in my life. Queen bee sorority girl saw a tall specimen and offered him a ride to get the scoop and see what…

Yeah, absolutely. I just responded to GLO about my history with weights and numbers - never took it seriously until a good month or two ago. So yeah, 200 across the board is probably not a good reflection of ideal goals for each of those lifts. Gonna feel good to hit those goals though, because at this stage, I am certain that I can. Bench will likely be the toughest, though.

I suspect you're right. And like another guy here said, it's the confidence (of the muscle shirt) that changes things, not so much the muscle. I'm not ripped, not yet. But damn, it's exciting to see just a little progress and know that there's still so much more to be had. I'll lift for the rest of my life, or until I can't anymore. I'm eternally glad I found this place.

You're not wrong at all. A few other guys pointed this out as well. I have to start somewhere - and I think if I can keep at this trajectory, I can anticipate setting even higher goals for the year's end. The truth is, I've only recently begun paying attention to the numbers. For the past few years, it was about doing what was comfortable. Get to a plate on each side, then plateau. Pick up some weights that feel good and curl. Obviously, comfort gets you nowhere in the gym. As a result, I lifted…

I run a lot also, feels wrong not to. I've heard mixed reviews as far as how cardio affects gains, but so far it hasn't hurt me to run a mile or two after lifting heavy. It makes my legs recover more slowly, so I have to stay aware of that when I'm coming up on leg day.

Not comfortable putting pics online, I have a few identifying tattoos. But I'll be straight with you - I'm not ripped. I have no visible abs. My delts and traps are only just starting to gain definition, and I've started losing excess fat from my jaw/face. That's it. The exciting thing is that even with this small swell of improvement, I'm already turning heads. I'm easily still at 20% body fat, which looks a little less than 20% because of my height. There's plenty of work left to do. But I'll …

I believe an alpha father could've prevented that (for me and you). You're right, and I'll likely never know the person I could have become with a stand-up dad in my life. It's taken many years to get into the thick of my programming and learn how to be a man. But you know something crazy? Just reading TRP has been more effective for my growth than any therapist or counselor has even been (mom loved putting me through that shit - big surprise). Absolutely. I'm not in the market for kids, but I agree - if I ever had them, I'd be balls-to-the-wall making sure their conditions were paramount. I resent my dad for doing what he did, but I see why he did it objectively. My step-mom had never been married and wanted a family of her own. Can't blame a woman for that, I guess. She knew what she was signing up for marrying a man who already had kids, though. No excuses for Dad. How is it a good idea to have two new kids as your first children ar…

Thanks for the reply, I appreciate you reading my post. Really great advice on travel too. I've only recently started waking up to the joys of traveling. I agree - anger has gotten me off the couch when no other emotion would have. That said, anger/hatred as motivators are a lot like high-power weapons. They'll get the fucking job done, but if you're not careful, they'll end you too. Use anger to do things. Don't let anger use you to do things.

The thing that recently stood out to me about social justice is that our culture has become comfortable with the glorification of weakness. I mean, think about how weird it is - we award moral points for showing each other our underbellies. Social media exacerbates this urge big time. Whoever has the most identity scars or imagined trauma is heralded as 'strong, brave, empowered, et al', the same way you'd expect a more strength-centric society to congratulate an Olympian for breaking an old rec…

Reminds me of a favorite post from thelastpsychiatrist: Let me offer a contrary position, unpalatable but worth considering: the only appropriate time to wear make up is to look attractive to men. Or women, depending on which genitals you want to lick, hopefully it's both. "Ugh, women are not objects." Then why are you painting them? I'm not saying you have to look good for men, I'm saying that if wearing makeup not for men makes you feel better about yourself, you don't have a strong self, and …

but if say science is your interest it's fine to toil away so long as it's something you want to give your life to, just make sure it's on your terms. I wouldn't call it a sacrifice if you're getting something in return. In this example, all the returns you get for studying science (grades, knowledge, careers) make it an investment, not a sacrifice. You reward those who enter your frame and comply with it. No sacrifices need to be made. If it feels like a sacrifice, the sacrifice is in your fram…

I feel you. I have a strained relationship with my mother that has been up and down through the years, and it influenced my perception of girls/women even before I knew about TRP. I was the 'aloof, distant' loner in high school. It didn't make sense why girls would crush on me, because my behavior was built on a lack of trust and interest in being close to them. They didn't know that, they just knew what they felt - a tall guy who didn't reciprocate and made them curious/tingly. It was easier fo…
