Nowhere in this process has anyone demonstrated that self-discipline exists as something distinct from being motivated to do a task. Maybe we are thinking of different definitions of motivation here but, isn't the point of discipline to do a certain thing when you're not motivated to do it?

The issue is that I grew up very introverted and had no social clout at all in my childhood and teens, so my experiences with social validation are slim. Only the last 2-3 years have I taken my value seriously and started to meet people with shared hobbies. This is where your problem lies. Read this excerpt from a comment by Whisper : People often come to TRP very obsessed with their "personalty", focusing on who they "are" now, and who they "want to be", and don't want to be. One of the major c…

This concept was touched upon by Pook earlier. You are caught in the vicious cycle. You are hesitant because you are not used for things going your way. And things will never go your way because you remain hesitant. You see what you want, become hesitant, and the door of opportunity closes. It happens again. And again. And again. With each choice towards Inaction, you reject yourself a little bit more. It's like that elephant which had a chain to its leg when it was young, so it doesn't even try…

Thanks for the great writeup, man! Must have taken a lot of time and thought to write all this down. I’m now 10 years in. You know, it's very rare for people to remember what it was like when they started, when they are this deep into something, but you did a great job listing it all down. About the small changes, yeah, I'm currently trying to replace carb-heavy foods with protein-heavy foods. My culture has carbs in almost everything. For here I started to understand portion sizes. Your last two posts have a farewell vibe. You're not leaving reddit, are you? Coz You don’t need parents. You don’t need a society that tells you the meaning of your existence. You don’t need a set of rules to tell you how not to be weak, or whether you are successful. You don’t need TRP. And you don’t need me. It's true. But I look at inactive accounts of trp contributors and vanguards and get a sinking feeling you get when another musician dies of a drug overdose. "Fuck! Too fucking soon! That…

Then there's also the idea of 'the one'. When you think this girl is your 'the one', you put unnecessary pressure on yourself to say and do everything right. So, even shifting your goal from finding 'the one' to 'the one for this week/month' helps take a lot of pressure off, because honestly her opinion of you doesn't matter if it's only a week/month.

Well, Swartzly died a hero, and Huffman and Ohanian lived long enough to turn into villains. Gonna miss the forest for the trees but hardly a valid comparison. It's like comparing Tim Berners-Lee to Zuckerburg, if the former had died young. Swartz is not a hero coz he didn't get enough time to go all "Harvey Dent" on people.

Use a VPN - I can't recommend enough Private internet access Just fyi, a VPN isn't needed to browse securely. Almost all website/app connections are encrypted. No one can get your details. Only reason to use a VPN is to download torrents without getting notices or use services which are not available at your location. Also, Private Internet Access got acquired by the company which owns CyberGhost. So it's not really that reliable now, as compared to, say 2 years ago.

This question has been asked here many times before. Best answer I've found from an EC : The way I see things now is that as a man, in order of importance, you need: to be proficient at Game (TRP theory + applying by approaching, spinning plates, etc.). Lifting is fun because results are quick, it's always under my control and only I'm accountable for the failures, I have a certain idea of what my goal is and how to get there. How do I recreate that fun in social progression. Women also "toy" with a lot of betas. Dont you think that's immoral? And what about finding redpill and developing yourself into your best version and "fooling" women into thinking you're an alpha? Isn't that immoral? Calling this immoral is just a defense mechanism to avoid stepping into the arena and actually playing the game instead of virtue signaling in the sidelines.

/r/TheRedPill29/04/19 04:42 AM

What makes you say women are worthless? And in what terms are women worthless? To me it looks like before women could work for a living, they could be thought of as having relatively less worth. But now that they work, what makes them worthless?

Why is trp open to people? If you have knowledge of something the general people either don't know about or don't believe it to the point of shunning trpers, then why does trp try to help other blue-pilled guys. Hey man, I use trp to succeed in my mission and with women, so I don't give much attention to the macro-level discussion about feminism and society. Traditional marriage was fucking terrible: the man does everything for the woman who raises the children and complains to her friends about how much she hates her (beta) husband. Divorce rates were low due to social shaming, but marriages were usually miserable and still one sided. Having said that, if traditional marriages were not as favorable to …

Good post. Just pointing out that your logic in the fitness section is flawed. The second boy gains more because of strict diet and better workout regime. The example misses the point of the post. A better example would be for the first boy to have strict diet, a lot of compound+Isolation lifts, and a lot of cardio. The second boy gets 80% gains with much lesser efforts then.

Before you pick up any book, write down what value you expect to gain from it. Then after each chapter or few pages, write down what new knowledge you have gained. So in case of 'Win friends and Influence People', it is pretty easy to get what you're supposed to gain from the book, every chapter has a principle behind it. In each of your subsequent interactions, try to use as many principles as you can within the right context. Then configure and calibrate. With any new habit, first aim is consi…

This is a really incoherent article with trp terminology sprinkled all over it without really giving any value. Read HeathCliff's article "How to be a Social Butterfly". We as humans, on a primal level, want most rewards with least amounts of effort. Our social skills provide a way to get things easier. It's not a masking or conning, it's just the name of the game. For example, lifting can't make us 'genetically superior' than others. We can't change our genes by lifting. We lift because it make…

I think the metaphor you're looking for is the ocean and waves. Old buddhist concept popularised by Thich nhat Hanh. In buddhism, it is taught to understand why empathy is important and to give an existential meaning to life. Basically, each of us are waves, we start somewhere and we end somewhere. If we only think about ourselves, we'll live lives full of fear. But if we keep the bigger picture of the ocean in our mind, we know all these waves are the same damn ocean. Food for thought!

I think you're right. But, can it be that OP is just experiencing what i think is the 'what now' moment? I mean when you have a goal for something you want to do or someone you want to become and you fulfill that goal, or maybe even if you fail at something, don't you feel a moment of emptiness or confusion about what to do next? I have grown as a person because of these 'what now' moments more than anything. Maybe OP is just changing into something better than before.

You're right in some way. Our ideas which turn into positive expression have value. In the end, it is the expression that stays, not the idea itself. But as Ryan Holiday would put it, "Alexander doesn't care that Alexandria is named after him". What will stay of you after you die is a good question. But to me the better question is why do I even want any legacy? Am I so self-centred to think that my life has a higher intrinsic meaning than an insect? Think about it.
