The lifetime exclusion changes from administration to administration. As I said in another comment, Biden is expected to drop it to historic lows, maybe 2.5MM from what I’ve heard. Also rumor is it will be retroactive back to Jan 1, so most folks I know who put in time and energy to take advantage of that exclusion did so before the end of 2020 to ensure it would remain valid regardless of the new administration. Well, that’s not what estate planning is. The point is investing the money into assets owned by trusts which you can name your spouses/descendants the beneficiaries of. Meaning your wives/husbands/kids get MORE money without the tax man getting involved. This is good advice for anyone, regardless of gender. And regardless of your wealth, estate planning is important so you can have a say in how your estate is distributed with finality and it’s not a total…

If you’re rich and old... you’re doing it right if you die with only a few million left to your estate to cover daily living expenses, final estate taxes, funeral, etc. Your GOAL is to die with very little money left to your name. That way your estate is taxed very little (or not at all) and you’ve already setup the irrevocable and multigenerational trusts etc to your designation. Over the years buy everything like houses and cars into LLC’s owned by trusts, pay for all your kids and grandkids e…

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
