Maybe look at what other people in your area are charging for similar work, then set your rates at 10-20% below that to help you build a customer base. You might also consider offering a large discount off your standard rate for first-time customers; this will encourage them to take a chance on someone new.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/07/25 07:59 PM

What's the market rate in your area?

Don't make a move on her- there's lots of cute girls in the world, and it's not worth damaging a long term friendship over a girl who might not even be around in six months. I would also let my friend know what happened so that he can start moving on.

So you'd rather your friends think you were ugly?

It's weird to be physically attracted to your friends. I disagree. If you're young, fit, well-dressed, and well-groomed, there's a high probability that most people in your age range consider you attractive on some level. That being said, there's a big difference between thinking "so-and-so is a good-looking guy/gal" and thinking "I am making a plan to seduce so-and-so."
/r/PurplePillDebate28/06/25 11:11 PM

Q4W: How often do you get approached by men in public? About old are you, and how attractive would you rate yourself?
/r/PurplePillDebate27/06/25 04:26 PM

Would you want men to approach you more often?
/r/PurplePillDebate27/06/25 04:22 PM

Watch The Last King of Scotland. Great movie, and there’s a really (darkly) funny scene that goes over this. “You did not persuade me!”
/r/PurplePillDebate27/06/25 05:08 AM

There's an idea out there that the real men do the hard physical labor, and stuff you do in offices is just fake bs and you are sitting around on your butt in air conditioning and collecting a paycheck. The fetishization of manual labor always struck me as weird. The entire reason those dudes are wrecking their bodies out in the field/factory is so that their sons have the chance to work in air conditioned office buildings instead of the field/factory. That being said, I do think the main benefi…

I mean, the number of single men in her age range making 300k a year or more is already miniscule- you're basically just looking at celebrities and a handful of finance/tech folks. And then you add in all the other requirements she has? The men she's looking for barely exist.

Our caveman brains like sex better without condoms than with them, because our instinctual desire is to be fruitful and multiply. All there is to it.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/06/25 03:17 AM

Yeah, but all I’d think of is how much better the sex “could” be if I were bigger lol And my sex life would probably be better if I were taller, or richer, or higher status. We’re all born with a set of advantages and disadvantages. Your hand may be better or worse, but all you can do is play the cards you’re dealt. > What size(s) do you think would go under the “large” category, or the size that you’d think women would most “prefer”? The downside of dating someone attractive enough to have options is that you may not be the option they go with.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/06/25 11:15 PM

Ah, that’s a tough one. Unfortunately with lost romance, sometimes you just gotta let the grief run its course. It’s ok to feel what you’re feeling, as long as you’re keeping room for other things as well.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/06/25 03:57 AM

Is it a person or a thing that’s out of reach for you?
/r/PurplePillDebate23/06/25 01:09 AM

What’s your strategy look like? I’ve done pretty well with women overall, but nearly all of the women I’ve been with are from my social circle or from the apps. I’ve brought home a few girls from bars/clubs, but with them it was pure dumb luck- they were horny, and I was in the right place at the right time. I’m not quite sure how some dudes do it week after week.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/06/25 12:52 AM

In general, I’d say it primarily manifests as women refusing to take an active role in solving problems, as initiative and agency are “unladylike”. Another example might be a woman using the traditional view of her gender as soft and fragile to manipulate others into doing what she wants.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/06/25 12:46 AM

How do you usually approach night game? Are you by yourself, or with friends? What kind of bars do you go to?
/r/PurplePillDebate23/06/25 12:17 AM

I imagine that as AI tech improves, it’ll put a significant dent in OF creators’ pockets. The ones who already have devoted fanbases will be fine, but the lower-end creators will start having to compete with artificially generated women who can be customized to user preferences and can do literally anything (and for free to boot).
/r/PurplePillDebate22/06/25 10:22 PM

but am I actually inferior in all these? Clearly your man doesn’t think so. If he wanted to passport bro in some foreign country, he would. Furthermore, a lot of the people saying that the dating pool is better elsewhere are usually falling victim to the “grass is always greener” effect. If they had been born in whatever country they’re fantasizing about, they’d probably complain about the dating scene just as much.

I’m at social events 4-5 days per week, and I have a large number of mostly female friends. Depends on how you’d define “flirtatious interaction”. If it’s stuff like “You look nice,” or “You smell good,” then relatively often. If we’re talking more blatant things (i.e. acquaintances or strangers openly making passes at me), maybe 3-4 times a year?

The issue is that “what they are” can vary wildly from woman to woman. There’s no script that all of them follow. I’ve known women who were fine with straight up grinding on dudes they had zero interest in. I’ve also encountered women who threw me zero IOIs, then told me years later that they had had a huge crush on me and were hoping I would make a move. Now that’s not to say that there aren’t indicators you can look for and act on, but it’s an art, not a science.

There will always be people who are better than you at something; that’s just life. Always someone stronger, always someone hotter, always someone richer. Nothing you can do about that. If you’re in a relationship worth having, your partner will accept you fully- all the good and all the bad.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/06/25 10:56 AM
9

Yes, they often do brag about it. Just like women will brag about how hot, or how rich, or how successful their boyfriend is. However, there are still plenty of average looking, average income, working class men who manage to have fulfilling relationships. It’s a bonus, not a requirement.

As someone who is fortunately blessed in that area, some observations from my experience: There is such a thing as “too big”. Where that point is depends on the woman in question, but they’ve all got a limit. Girth >>> length. I’m doing pretty well in both areas, but I get a lot more compliments related to thickness. If you’re above a certain length, you have to be careful; a hit to the cervix is painful for most gals. Assuming you don’t have a micropenis, you’re probably going to be just fine. …

I view having a crush while in a relationship as a different flavor of the “call of the void”. It’s natural to have those thoughts; you just have to let them pass over you and through you without vocalizing them or acting on them.

From what I’ve observed, going from “decent shape” to “incredible shape” doesn’t move the needle much in attracting women. However, if you’re in average to bad shape, getting into decent shape is practically a cheat code. Diminishing returns and all that.

Q4W: Have you ever found yourself attracted to a guy you hadn’t noticed/weren’t attracted to before because another woman expressed interest in him? there is this active social message that a woman is sexual for the sake of men and not for her own pleasure I don’t fully agree with everything you wrote here, but I think this is an interesting point. I’ve spoken about this a few times in other contexts, but there’s a longstanding convention in media of all types: chaste, innocent women who sit around and look pretty while they wait for their prince to come are “good girls”, while women who actively chase sex are viewed as crass, unladylike, an…

That trend has changed in recent years; you see a lot more sex-positive female characters in media today than you would 20-30 years ago.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/06/25 10:59 PM
1

Social conditioning is the primary causal factor imo. Consider female characters in well-known stories. You’ll often see a chaste, innocent “good girl” who waits for her prince to come portrayed as the feminine ideal. By contrast, the wily seductress who actively pursues sex is portrayed as bad. This is also why a significant number of romance stories aimed at women see the male lead engaged in forceful and sometimes even rapey behavior. Even if a woman desires a man, to openly tell him that wou…

Anybody (man or woman) who adheres to these social expectations or uses phrases like the above are reinforcing misogyny. It doesn't mean that they are misogynistic, but they are doing something that stems from misogyny. One I heard recently that really helped me: “Stop worrying about the love you didn’t get. Start thinking about the love you have right now.” As someone who can have a hard time letting go of things, this is definitely something I needed to hear (it’s from The White Lotus, which I highly recommend).
/r/PurplePillDebate12/06/25 02:46 PM

Same- get occasional IOIs, but not a ton. However, if I’m able to get a foot in the door, my “conversion rate” is probably the best out of the guys in my social sphere. Knowing how to talk to people can lead to infinite opportunities.

I’ve posted this a few times, but anyone who wants to have a better understanding of human sexuality should watch the Contrapoints video Twilight. It’s a long watch, but it’s split into reasonably sized chapters, and it’s the best breakdown of sexual desire and the cultural attitudes surrounding it I’ve ever seen.

I recommend the Contrapoints video “Twilight”. The “Fantasy” segment is the most relevant here, but the whole thing is a good watch if you want to understand why a lot of books featuring romanticized toxicity/abuse are popular among women.

Usually if a girl says she’s busy but doesn’t offer a specific date/time as an alternative, that’s a “No”. That being said, there are exceptions to every rule. Just say “cool, let me know!” and don’t text her again unless she texts you.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/06/25 01:29 AM

If you think that potentially being attracted to one another precludes the possibility of friendship, then you’re implicitly arguing that gay men can’t be friends with other gay men, lesbians can’t be friends with other lesbians, and bisexual folks can’t have any friends at all. See above.

I think you misinterpret my original comment. I often say on this sub that attractive personality traits include charisma, assertiveness, good humor. These are morally neutral traits; both good people and bad can have them. So yeah, a hypothetical ugly dude with those traits will be more attractive than a hypothetical ugly guy without them; nice or mean doesn’t make a difference.

Not super often. Liberal men usually live in cities, where they’re surrounded by women who are more aligned with their political views. The ones that don’t are usually ethnic minorities, and most of them wouldn’t want to date a far-right chick for reasons that should be obvious.

Maybe, depending on various factors: Different religion, 1000 miles away, 50+ sexual partners, gets drunk once per week, dislikes video games, military, 200 lbs, slept with friend. No: Smokes, two kids, alcoholic, OF, really quiet, waiting until marriage, refuses to have kids, same first name as mom.

The issue here is that "Chad" could be a violent, unfaithful drug dealer, but he could also be a hunky firefighter who's nice to everyone and spends his free time volunteering at a retirement home. Attraction and morality exist independently of each other. Women DO go for assholes, but the guys being assholes is not an attractive quality. Assertiveness, charisma, physical fitness, and good humor are attractive qualities, and there are both good and bad men in possession of them.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/06/25 05:19 AM

I occasionally see things to the tune of "women only go for assholes"; These people completely miss the point. Attractive assholes are successful with women, as are attractive good guys. If a guy isn't already attractive, him being an asshole is only going to make him even less attractive.

Historically speaking, it’s because men were expected to be the sole breadwinners, while women were pressured to marry a provider as soon as possible. While attitudes about gender and labor have liberalized, there are still plenty of holdovers from that era.

There’s no inherent reason why; it’s just societal convention. Complying with that tradition usually gives you as a man much higher odds of getting what you want out of the date (whether that’s a hookup or an LTR).

if the woman is listing off things she expects then it is fair game. In my experience, women don’t generally do this. “What does this woman bring to the table?” is a good question. But it’s one that you should be thinking about, not one you should ask, unless you’re okay with running off potential mates.

For example: I’m not looking for a serious relationship at the moment, but when the time comes I definitely want kids. If a woman doesn’t want kids, that’d be a dealbreaker for me, even if she was perfect otherwise. I agree with your conclusion; men shouldn’t be asking that question. It’s needlessly confrontational and borderline accusatory. Furthermore the information the man is hoping to get can be acquired in the course of normal conversation: “What do you like to do?”, “What are your goals for the future?”, and the like. If you don’t like her answers or just aren’t feeling her overall, you can simply not go out with her again. No need to be rude.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/05/25 05:57 PM

I think your main mistake here was not using plausible deniability to YOUR advantage. There’s a simple process I recommend to all guys (and honestly girls too) who think a girl in their social orbit is into them, but don’t want to mess with the dynamic if they’re wrong/the other person gets cold feet; I call it “Schrodinger’s Date”. 1) Invite them to do a “date” activity (getting drinks at a nice cocktail bar, having a picnic somewhere pretty, etc), but don’t call it a “date”. 2) Observe her rea…

Indeed. If you’re a guy with a lot of disposable income, a few fancy dinners/pricey gifts are simply a business expense, not necessarily a demonstration of love.

Artists, musicians, and other creative types are affected by mental illness and substance abuse issues at a far higher rate than the general population. You’re right; all the sex in the world won’t save you if you’re not taking care of your body and mind. That being said, I don’t think having a fulfilling social/family life and being able to pull women easily are mutually exclusive.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/05/25 02:57 PM

There are plenty of women who will fuck a guy because he can spoil her with vacations, gifts, etc. That being said, you should avoid an explicit quid pro quo; it’s a bad look.

/r/PurplePillDebate29/05/25 05:08 AM

This is true. I’m a hair under 8 inches, but I sometimes ask the women I sleep with how long they think it is; they invariably guess 9-10 inches. I think height works the same way. It’s hard to estimate the height of things that are taller than you, so a lot of women who say they wouldn’t date a guy shorter than 6’0 actually mean they wouldn’t date a guy shorter than 5’9.5 or so.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/05/25 04:13 AM

Every question along the lines of “Is X cheating?” comes down to the same thing: What are you okay with in your relationship? Some people would consider simply having lunch with an unrelated member of the opposite sex to be cheating. Other people are fine with their partner straight up screwing other people on the side. Where you want to draw the line is your call.

I’m not sure why some people act like “I like being friends with this person” and “This person is physically attractive” are mutually exclusive statements. Some people are just objectively good-looking, and it would be delusional to act like they aren’t. I hope to join the ranks of such people myself in the next year or so.

Why boil people down to just one part of their identity? I, for example, am a Black, autistic, Christian, college graduate who grew up in a large city. I have far more common experience with a woman who shares those traits than I do with a man who does not.

If you think that potentially being attracted to one another precludes the possibility of friendship, then you’re implicitly arguing that gay men can’t be friends with other gay men, lesbians can’t be friends with other lesbians, and bisexual folks can’t have any friends at all. Given that the above statements are obviously false, we can conclude that one can find their friends attractive and still be friends with them.

I’m not sure if there’s a proper name for this, but I’ve been seeing a lot of people (men and women) engaging in what I’ve come to think of as the “Vulture” mating strategy. Essentially, they seek out people whose relationships are on the rocks, then sort of just hover around them and offer emotional support. A few days to a few weeks after the relationship actually does end, the vulture swoops in before anyone else has a chance to.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/05/25 11:07 PM

You should go for it! At worst you’ll have some good drinks and pleasant conversation; at best you might end up meeting someone.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/05/25 10:31 PM

There are a lot of great NA beers and wines nowadays. Most bars carry at least a few of them, so if you wanna go out and avoid the peer pressure, that's an option.

I'm.. not sure what "moving like a single man" even means I’ve met a few people who say stuff like that; what it means can vary from person to person. It ranges from reasonable boundaries (i.e. not wanting their bf to entertain advances from women who approach him) to unhealthy controlling behavior (i.e. not wanting their boyfriend to ever be alone with any woman who isn’t related to them, regardless of the context).
/r/PurplePillDebate21/05/25 04:21 PM

I think it’s pretty obvious, and most people (men and women) will tell you the same. Feeling attractive feels nice. To illustrate what I mean, let me recycle an old comment of mine. Imagine two friends, Arthur and Bill, are going out for drinks. Arthur and Bill are both very happily married, and neither has any intention of cheating on their wife. While they’re out, women are constantly coming up to Bill, telling him how hot he is, and trying to get his number (though Bill, being a happily marri…

There’s a difference between going on Tinder and just being an attractive person in public. If the person you’re dating (regardless of gender) is good-looking, they’re going to get hit on a LOT. They’re going to get hit on in clubs, at school, at work, in shops, at the gym, at church, on vacation, and just randomly on the street. It’s inevitable. Now, if you discover that your person is entertaining any of these advances, it might be time to have a talk (and potentially walk away). But if they’r…

I’ve noticed that the women who are the loudest about disliking men are often bisexual girls with boyfriends. From what I’ve observed, many of them feel judged within the LGBT+ community for being able to “pass” as straight if they want to. /r/PurplePillDebate14/05/25 02:51 PM

I think we can examine the role of social conditioning here. Women are encouraged to get into fashion and whatnot from a very young age (see the toys/media marketed to young girls) in a way that boys aren’t. As such, the idea of “looksmaxxing” just seems like normality to most women, while most men view it as a novelty.

Patriarchy tells men that it’s their manly duty to throw themselves into meat grinders (be they battlefields or shitty manual labor jobs) for the sake of people who don’t give a shit about them. It makes it so that we’re made to feel like less of “real men” if we talk about how this makes us feel. It pushes us towards dangerous coping mechanisms like substance abuse to cope with the pressure. How is any of that helpful for men? What and who makes that sociopolitical system? The 1%.

One who is gossipy, is constantly organizing brunches, and is lowkey an alcoholic. One who is constantly jumping from toxic situationship to toxic situationship. One who is mildly evil. I think dating apps (and the internet as a whole) may be the culprits here. A lot of the comedians you’re listening to probably have intimate experience with how rough dating apps can be for men- most guys struggle to get a even a handful of matches, while a privileged minority enjoy the lion’s share. Have you been to a department store before? The XXL+ men’s stuff is usually on the same rack as the S-XL stuff. The women’s stuff is usually the same way; I’ve never seen a dedicated plus size women’s section at major department store. The women’s section is larger than the men’s section because they buy more clothes; that’s all there is to it.

Besides being an ass man, I don’t think I really have a physical type- my dating history features a variety of ethnicities, eye colors, hair colors, and body types. Casual sex is very common; I imagine that pretty much anyone who has been to college or worked in a restaurant/bar knows this. Cheating? It certainly happens plenty across a wide range of demographics, but it’s tough to tell how common it actually is. Cheaters have a vested interest in covering their tracks, and they ESPECIALLY have a vested interest in making sure their social circle never sees said tracks. The only difference is that one is eager for sex after a couple dates, while the other wants to wait until they’re in a fully committed relationship. It’s unsurprising which one the guy will pick 90% of the time. Our losing gal in this example has a couple options: 1) Find a guy on the same page as her about sex (not too mu…

If I’m still awake, sure. I love to cook. But also, I think that a big part of being in a relationship is being considerate of your partner’s time and needs. If I were the one getting back late, why would I disrupt my lady’s beauty rest to ask her to do something I could easily do myself?
/r/PurplePillDebate14/04/25 05:36 AM

Something I say a lot here: Women aren’t a monolith. There are women who are completely fine with straight up grinding on dudes they have zero interest in, and women whose idea of being direct is standing vaguely near a guy and hoping he says something. To get an accurate idea of whether a woman is into you, you need to have an idea of her baseline behavior.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/04/25 10:06 PM

Obviously the more attractive guys would do better than the less attractive guys. But what are their exact success rates? How much are those success rates affected by demographic factors? Does the location of the approach matter, and if so, how much? Are there certain types of women who are more open to being cold approached than others?
/r/PurplePillDebate10/04/25 07:36 PM

I would love to see a scientific study on cold approaching. Take a randomly selected group of 21-35 year old men and give each of them an attractiveness score determined by a randomly selected panel of 21-35 year old women. Each man in the study would be paid to cold approach 100 women over the course of the next 1-2 months and document each attempt. I realize that this would be difficult- you would need a pretty large sample size to account for income, ethnicity, and other demographic factors- …
/r/PurplePillDebate10/04/25 07:22 PM

Stands to reason. If you’re going out with someone you perceive to be out of your league, you’re gonna bring your A-game.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/04/25 04:23 AM

Yeah- in my experience, there are only a couple ways for a woman who isn’t initially attracted to you to become attracted to you: 1) Your circumstances change radically (i.e. you get into incredibly good shape, come into a lot of money/status, etc). Or 2) She notices that you’re getting a lot of attention from other women in her social orbit (oftentimes as a result of the above). Even if both of these things are true, it’s hard to turn a “Hell no!” into a “Hell yeah!”
/r/PurplePillDebate08/04/25 09:41 PM
2

Too nice in what way? But in general: If a woman says something you disagree with, don’t mindlessly agree; push back (in a respectful way). When a woman does something goofy in your presence, feel free to gently mock her. If you do this correctly, she’ll respond with something along the lines of “OMG, I hate you so much” accompanied by smiling/blushing. Go into romantic interactions with an abundance mentality. Women can smell desperation, and they don’t like that smell one bit.

I think that this is partially true, but it’s not necessarily about politics. A lot of conservative women are looking for traditionally-minded men with stereotypically masculine traits. Conservative men likely feel much more pressure to conform to this mold than liberal men do. That’s not to say that there’s any shortage of traditionally masculine men on the left, but a lot of these guys either don’t want to date conservatives, or are ethnic minorities (whom conservative women are often reluctan…

When I talk about personality, I’m not just talking about being decent; I’m talking about things like confidence, charm, assertiveness, humor. There is a certain level of physical attractiveness where those traits don’t really matter, but for a guy in the 6-8 range, they can often be the difference between that hottie at the bar going home with you and her deciding that you’re boring and leaving with her friends.

Looks and status will get your foot in the door; personality allows you to get inside the house (and stay inside, if that’s what you’re going for).

I am happy to engage in chivalry. Stranger, acquaintance, friend, or potential romantic interest, I always open car doors, follow the sidewalk rule, the whole nine yards. It seems to make women feel good about themselves, especially when they’re older or not conventionally attractive. If I can put a smile on someone’s face, I consider that a successful day.

I mean, women do get kidnapped and sex trafficked. Not often, and not in such fantastical ways usually, but it happens. Carry mace if it’s legal, keep an eye on your drink, and walk home/to your cab with friends if it’s dark and you’re in a sketchy area. The Salt Lake story probably isn’t real, but something like that has happened somewhere at some point.

I need to make more guy friends. I've been curious about giving nightlife as a method of meeting women another shot, but all my potential wingmen are either living in other cities, not into going out, or don't have the right temperament for wingman duties (they scare the hoes or they are scared of the hoes). On the flipside, when I go out with my female friends, a lot of people assume I'm either gay or dating one of them. Such is life.

Another big factor, imo, is how car centric most of the United States is. Outside of urban cores, walking to work, errands, social outings, etc is relatively impractical. If our cities were more like Europe's, where pretty much everyone gets their 10k steps a day, the obesity rate would massively decrease.

Was thinking about a date I went on with a girl a while back. We went to a bar: I ordered an old fashioned and she ordered wine. While we were talking, she asked if I liked wine; I told her that while I would drink wine if it was offered to me, it was behind spirits and beer in my preference list. She said that that was good, because she didn’t like it when men drank wine; she thought it was a feminine beverage. She praised my choice of an old fashioned as classy and masculine. So Q4W: Would you…

I don’t think that’s necessarily wrong. The reason a lot of women won’t date bi men is because a man having sex with another man goes against what society says a man is “supposed” to be like. Men are supposed to be powerful, dominant, conquering. Bottoming is submissive, and therefore runs counter to the expected gender role.

Women virtue signal to pretend they value good morals when it’s of little importance to them. It’s of little importance to them for flings and hookups; this goes for men as well. Most women are pretty open about this; you’ll hear plenty of women vent about their toxic situationships.

Breaking: People more likely to engage in risky behaviors when it comes to attractive people. More at 9. You see this with men too. Men will put up with all sorts of red flags and psycho behavior from women if said woman is hot enough.

There actually is a meaningful counterpart, I’d argue, but it works in the other direction. You’ll hear plenty of women say things like “men are useless at housework” or “men are all cheaters”. This often results in women letting their men get away with skipping out on housework or even straight up cheating, because “boys will be boys”.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/03/25 02:00 AM

Generally, the women who are complaining about this are the ones who either: A) Had a guy tell her everything she wanted to hear to get her to sleep with him, then bail once he'd gotten her in bed. or B) Simply assumed that the guy wanted to get serious with her despite not having that discussion with him at all.

Not necessarily the case. Sometimes you'll see women who are willing to make out with (or do even more with) guys they met all of five minutes ago, but most of the time building attraction is a distance race, not a sprint.

I think that everyone, regardless of gender, falls into one of three categories: "Princess", "Slut", or "Loser". These aren't literal terms- one can be flat broke and still be a Princess, a virgin/incel can absolutely be a Slut, and a Loser may very well be successful in life.

/r/PurplePillDebate17/02/25 07:40 AM

I think there’s a false dichotomy between being nice and being successful with women. No, being nice on its own is not going to have the ladies chasing after you. Being fit, successful, funny, charismatic, and assertive will bring the ladies in; we can easily observe this. However, if a man is fit, successful, funny, charismatic, and assertive, why would him treating others well detract from the aforementioned qualities?
/r/PurplePillDebate17/02/25 06:50 AM
2

That's called being a sellout: dealing with mistreatment for money. That’s just called life 😂. We all do things we would rather not do for the sake of our and our families’ livelihood.

I mean, it always has been a racist country. That’s just a fact. But as others have said, cash is king. Migrants are often willing to put up with America’s shortcomings because they can make a lot more money here than they could at home, or because they’re fleeing active warzones.

It’s not fascist…yet. We’ll see. Authoritarian governments are often safe places to live, provided that you’re not one of “those people”. The problem is that who “those people” are can and frequently does change, and you might very well find yourself on the list of “those people” one day, even if you think you’re safe.

Sometimes, yeah. Lots of people meet their future spouse in college, and it’s a great place to do it- the folks around you are getting an education, likely to have good careers, and you’ve got lots of time to socialize/date. But there are also just as many women who want to become doctors, nurses, lawyers, teachers, etc. You can’t do those things without going to college.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/02/25 05:39 PM

Let’s flip this around for a moment (bear with me; I’ll explain why this is relevant in a second)- what are some examples of positive feminine traits?
/r/PurplePillDebate16/02/25 05:37 PM

Q4W: Curious about the other side of things. Imagine you’re dating a guy who is built and muscular. Most of his wardrobe consists of tank tops, form-fitting polos, and other clothing that draws attention to his physique. Does this bother you?

/r/PurplePillDebate16/02/25 03:34 AM

You guys really overestimate the time energy and money that above average men waste on women below them. Eh- not necessarily. Most of my conventionally unattractive female friends have/have had Chadlites or HTNs who occasionally hit them up for drinks/sex. Even upper-middle tier guys (guys who are attractive, but not “having a roster of supermodels” on call attractive) have moments when the well is running low.

Define “modestly” here.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/02/25 03:15 AM

Not particularly. If you’re dating someone attractive, then they’re going to get hit on a LOT- at work, at school, at the gym, at bars, at church, and just walking around. Statistically speaking, some of the people hitting on them will be more attractive than you in one or more ways. That’s an inevitability, so as long as my girl hasn’t given me any reason to question her loyalty, I’m pretty laid-back. (And if she has given me a reason to question her loyalty, I should probably evaluate why I’m …

I agree with your argument, but a couple issues with your conclusion. If you look at who was actually bringing up LGBT stuff during the campaign, it was almost always Republicans fearmongering about “gender ideology”. Kamala could have shot a trans person on live television, and Trump and co would have kept right on calling her a groomer. I think the main reason Dems lost in 2024 (though by no means the only reason) is that the Republicans were able to get a stranglehold on the information envir…

This cuts both ways honestly (see all the jokes about sex with women who are kinda insane). If we think of one night stands as the equivalent of doing cocaine in the middle of a packed nightclub, then a long-term relationship is sitting on the couch in your comfiest pajamas, eating your favorite food and watching your favorite show. Even if you miss the rush from your ski trip every now and then, you know it’s not good for you.

/r/PurplePillDebate13/02/25 12:25 AM

[Laughs in Tyrone] I think the reason you sometimes see Asian/Latina women specifically going for white guys is that they developed an inferiority complex growing up around mostly white folks. Eurocentric beauty standards (and oftentimes racism/bullying from their peers) made them feel bad about themselves, so dating white men makes them feel like they’ve “made it” and achieved acceptance within a Eurocentric society. Interestingly, this doesn’t really happen in the Black community, for reasons …

Given what’s happening with the government right now, this would make sense. If you went to a school like Yale, there’s loads of opportunities even for “useless” majors. /r/PurplePillDebate12/02/25 07:45 PM

That certainly does happen. I was mostly thinking of situations I’ve personally observed- when a woman cheated, the guy almost never took her back even if she wanted another chance. When a man cheated, the woman often stayed for quite some time afterwards (or even married him).
/r/PurplePillDebate12/02/25 05:35 PM

That’s a big reason too; didn’t mean to imply otherwise. I was mostly thinking of the women who are actively choosing to stay; not the women who want to leave but fear that doing so would put them/their children in danger.

I’ve seen examples of all four of the above in the bad relationships my female friends have ended up in. When women get stuck in such relationships, it’s usually one or more of these factors keeping them there: Wishful thinking (“I can change him!/He promised he’d never do it again!”) Sunk cost fallacy (“I’ve invested so much materially/emotionally into this relationship that I feel like I have to make things work.”) Coming from an environment where bad behavior is normalized (“That’s just how m…

Not Red Pill, but I think there are three primary barometers you can use: What kind of people does he spend his time with? How does he treat people who he isn't trying to impress? How does he react to things not going his way? Some abusive dudes are snakes in the grass who can successfully pass all three of these tests unnoticed, but you'll be able to filter out most of the bad guys by getting a good grasp on these questions.

Women's people pleasing is often a defense mechanism; there are lots of shitty dudes out there, and it can often be hard to tell which ones they are. Now, in an established friendship or relationship with a person they know and like, this sort of behavior can often cause unnecessary issues (i.e. Alex doesn't let Sam know that something is bothering her because she thinks it's polite not to stir the pot, so Sam never takes any steps to address it. My usual advice (and this goes for guys evaluating women too) is to ask yourself: Who does he spend his time with? How does he treat the people around him (particularly those who can’t do anything for him)? How does he react to conflicts/things not going his way? most of my "chad" friends had mid/unattractive FWB and attractive girlfriends, it was kinda crazy. Yeah. Let us imagine Kyle, an average office worker making a decent but not spectacular income. He’s got a decently attractive face and is in decent shape. A 6/10 all around. Imagine Kyle asks the following two women out: A) An okay-looking, working-class chick from his apartment building. B) A megahot fitness influencer he sees while running on a local trail one day. Do you think both of them will give him the same answer?

Happens a fair amount to me. I just send the double message anyway. Girls have a lot of matches to sort through, so it’s not surprising that they forget to respond or just decide they’re going to respond later.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/02/25 05:18 PM

I've tried initiating before (I wouldn't say "approach" because I already knew the dudes), and it's always ended in rejection, even when I was just after sex 😂 Imagine how us guys feel then. Rejection’s not so bad once you get used to it; you just learn to not take it personally and move onto the next.

An exercise that I’ve found helpful on this front is attempting to meet 100 strangers. The rules of the challenge are: You have to start a conversation with a person with no direct connection to you (so friends of friends/new work colleagues don’t count). The conversation has to last for at least 10 minutes. The conversation must go beyond the surface level. Doesn’t matter if they’re men or women, young or old, hot or ugly- just make sure that after each one, you take a moment to reflect on what…

Because whoever approaches puts themselves in the more emotionally vulnerable position. Why give up your power if societal convention generally dictates that you don’t have to?
/r/PurplePillDebate06/02/25 04:19 PM

Yes and no. Being introverted isn’t inherently unnattractive to women- a lot of gals swoon over the Mr. Darcy archetype. However, an extroverted guy is going to have a much easier time meeting women, and therefore get a lot more dates than the introverted guy.

I've said this before, but when people say "personality is just as important as looks", they're absolutely right. It's just that the personality traits required to get laid and the personality traits required to be a good person are not necessarily the same. I think what sets Gen Z women apart from older generations is that it’s the first generation to have social media as a core part of their adolescence. As such A lot of girls think it’s a red flag if a guy isn’t on socials. Gen Z women tend to be far more apprehensive about being approached irl than older women. This has a lot to do with social media as well imo. The number of women identifying as bi is much higher, though these women still usually end up dating men (both because there are a lot …

I always advise my fellow men to pay for dates (chivalry is still a crowd-pleaser), but I also advise them not to invest too much in girls who haven’t shown some investment back (this investment can be sex, but it can also be things like cooking you a meal, paying for a date herself, etc). Until you see that investment from her, happy hours, picnics, and free/low-cost museums/galleries are your best friends.

People who reach a certain level of wealth often get fixated on the things their money can’t buy; this is why you see so many celebrities who seem to have it made crashing out over random bullshit. Drake wanted to be fully embraced by the culture. But no matter how much money he throws at his lawyers, he cannot change the fact that people are in the clubs every weekend singing along to Kendrick calling him a colonizer.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/02/25 04:59 AM

That’s why I used 7 and not a lower number. There’s a point at which personality can’t make up for a deficiency in the looks department.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/02/25 04:47 AM

I saw a tweet that said Drake lost this beef harder than any rapper has ever lost a beef, and that includes the ones who got murdered 😂. Next time you’re having a bad day, just remember it could be worse (your opps could be getting multiple awards for their song about how you’re a pedophile).
/r/PurplePillDebate04/02/25 04:46 AM

Q4A: Who do you consider to be a 10/10 attractiveness wise?
/r/PurplePillDebate04/02/25 03:54 AM

I think a lot of folks (men and women) get validation from the idea that they're so special that they can swipe someone else's guy/girl with ease. It's a power trip.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/02/25 02:38 AM

I honestly don't think I've ever discussed my n-count with any woman I've dated. Never felt inclined to ask for theirs either.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/02/25 02:34 AM

Men who fuck around a lot are significantly more likely to have qualities that make women want to be with them (tall, fit, funny, charismatic, etc).
/r/PurplePillDebate04/02/25 02:23 AM

To quote the Weeknd: "If you ain't my n****, then your girl single to me." Though I will say, that phenomenon isn't exclusive to guys. Most men will tell you that they get a lot more attention from women when they're taken than when they're single.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/02/25 02:21 AM

Q4W: When thinking of the men you’ve dated, were you usually attracted to them first, or were they usually not on your radar until they expressed interest in you?

I’d have to disagree here. High-priced escorts oftentimes market themselves as well-educated and knowledgeable on a variety of subjects (geisha in Japan are a particularly notable example of this). A lot of guys seeking companionship (particularly guys who are well-educated and knowledgeable themselves) don’t want to spend their dinner talking to a brick wall.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/02/25 06:47 AM

It’s more like “A man wants a modest woman who becomes immodest for them specifically but not anybody else.” The equivalent for women would be “I like a guy who’s a bit of a bad boy, but I do not want to ever have to deal with the consequences of his bad boy activities.” Both of these examples are clearly unrealistic, so we all have to find a middle ground when choosing partners.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/02/25 06:38 AM

“…..” On a serious note, this is actually true to a degree. If you look at the types of dudes a lot of women thirst over, they’re just as likely to be a slightly effeminate pretty boy as they are a hulking bodybuilder (see Timothee Chalamet, assorted K-Pop dudes, etc).

As many others have said, men are far more likely to resort to violence in the face of real or perceived slights. There are both biological and cultural reasons for this. A corollary to this is that men are oftentimes bad at expressing their emotions in a healthy way. This is mostly a cultural problem- many societies promote the idea that “real men” don’t need support from anyone, when this is very much not the case.

If it was a significant enough power disparity between the man and the woman (i.e. some unattractive working class chick kisses some wealthy Wall Street guy) and the man is has the time and inclination to file a police report, probably. Most of my close friends are women (many of whom have partners), and I'll often ask them for advice about other girls and act like someone who is only interested in platonic friendship (because I am). I've actually lost friendships in the past because I misread signs and thought a girl was interested in being more than friends.

A post currently on r/relationships: Tl;dr My boyfriend doesn’t wipe his ass (sometimes) how do I get him to have better hygiene? I 25F and my boyfriend 25M have lived together for about a year and been together for about 2 years. I used the rest of the toilet paper cleaning up after my dog (we have rolls under the sink). Shortly after my boyfriend went to use the bathroom. When I went in there I noticed there was no toilet paper sitting out, so I asked him what he used. He proceeded to tell me …

Yup. Some examples off the top of my head: - Declining to participate in activities you enjoy because you worry those around you will consider it unmanly. - Bottling up your emotions instead of talking about them because you worry those around you will consider it unmanly. - Picking unnecessary fights or engaging in other activities you know to be illegal, dangerous, or both to prove your masculinity to others. Many people of both genders bear responsibility in reinforcing these behaviors.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/01/25 10:28 PM

Moderation in all things, I think. Most women wouldn't want to be with a guy who's constantly picking fights with random dudes in public because he thinks they looked at his girl funny. At the same time, women do want to know that their man would be willing and able to throw down for them if there were a legitimately dangerous situation.

This depends on a lot of things, but speaking from my own experience, it’s certainly a disadvantage, but not an insurmountable one. Even if social skills don’t come naturally to you, they can be learned and practiced like any other sort of skill. I’m an ass man, but if I met a girl who was wonderful in every way except for not having much of one, I would still be willing to date her.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/01/25 05:13 PM

Fan fics would honestly be a plus (I love writing myself), provided she’s writing actual stories and not fetish content. Creating fetish content (assuming I’m not into whatever her thing is) probably would be a hard pass. Same goes for wannabe social media influencers- I don’t want every second of my life recorded. I find it helpful not to think as people’s preferences not as hard lines, but as categories on a stat sheet. Let’s do a simplified example with our hypothetical Chad, and say that the categories the woman is considering are looks, personality, culinary skills, and income. A guy needs to have 30/40 points for her to consider dating him. If Chad’s stats are as follows: Looks: 10/10 Personality: 10/10 Culinary Skills: 0/10 Income: 10/10 Then he gets 30 points, therefore passing the woman’s threshol…

I actually do think that everyone needs a religion of some sort; it’s just that not every religion needs to have supernatural aspects to it. How do we define what is good? What’s bad? What should we aspire to? What’s your place in your society, in your world? You don’t need to believe in anything supernatural to have a framework you believe in and can use to answer these questions. Honestly, Marvel's been solid lately. They've had some misses for sure (Thor 4, Eternals, Quantumania, The Marvels), but Shang-Chi, No Way Home, Black Panther 2, Guardians 3, and Deadpool & Wolverine were all good to excellent. It looks good, but my main worry is that there are too many characters in it. They're trying to do a whole new Superman, Lois Lane, and Lex Luthor, while simultaneously introducing Hawkgirl, Green Lantern, Mr. Terrific, Metamorpho, and the Authority. James Gunn has shown that he can work with a big ensemble (Guardians of the Galaxy, The Suicide Squad), but it'd be weird if this were less of a "Superman movie" and more of a "movie with Superman in it".

Personality is the MOST relevant thing, mon ami. It’s just that the personality traits that make you a good person and the personality traits that make you an attractive person aren’t always the same. A man who is passive, meek, and awkward will always do poorly with women, regardless of whether he treats people well or not. Meanwhile, a man who is assertive, confident, funny, and charismatic will do great with women, regardless of whether he treats people well or not. A person saying “assholes …

In my experience, most women don't actually know what 6 feet looks like. Estimating the height of things that are taller than you is difficult. I'm 5'10 and change, but just say I'm 6 foot on dating apps, and I've never had a girl comment on it (I was told by my female friends to do this so that girls don't assume I'm 5'8). The thing I’ve noticed about radfem misandrist types is that they’re more upset with men as a concept than they are with men themselves. An FWB of mine complains about men all the time and self-identifies as a radical feminist, but will drop a “well you’re different” whenever she does it around me.

While there are certain majors that I would only recommend if you’re thinking of going into academia and/or are rich enough to not need a real job, communications isn’t one of them. There’s lots of things you can do with a comms degree, especially if you went to a reputable school.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/12/24 06:56 PM

I’d argue that there is no such thing as “useless” degrees; there are only useless people: If your goal is to go to law school, you’re better off picking a reading-heavy major like history or philosophy than you would be with something like engineering. Furthermore, if you’re interested in a career that requires extensive networking or volunteer work (such as politics/government), you’ll want a major that doesn’t require to spend too much time working on problem sets in the library (such as poli…

How do I ask my FWB in a subtle way if a threesome with another girl is something she would be interested in? She’s bi, but on a few occasions has lamented that she hasn’t had the chance to be with very many women. I’ve never had a threesome before, and think it would be an interesting experience if she’s down for it, but also don’t want to make her upset if she’s not into the idea.

The problem with requiring tests to vote is that because humans are the way they are, the testing system would inevitably be hijacked by one faction or another to make it easier for their supporters and more difficult for their opponents.

/r/PurplePillDebate10/12/24 04:20 AM

I think that’s normal. Just as many women would get turned on from their partner showering them with fancy gifts/experiences, many men would get turned on from coming home to find their girl in a sexy outfit ready to serve them their favorite foods for dinner. Everyone likes to be treated like royalty now and then.

There’s no one answer to this, I’m afraid. Every woman is different- some women will flirt with anything that moves, even if they’re not interested in 99% of the people they flirt with. Other women will give you almost no indicators of interest at all, and then tell you years later that they had the biggest crush on you. To tell for sure if a woman is in into you or not, you need a baseline of what her usual behavior is like. If a chick who’s normally very reserved becomes very chatty around you…
/r/PurplePillDebate09/12/24 04:27 AM

True. That being said, plenty of people think they’ve found the perfect person and end up getting divorced a decade or two down the line.

I’ve known plenty of “bad boys” who struggled with women. The main thing is that they were “bad” in a way that women found creepy and off-putting, rather than bad in a way that women found exciting and rebellious.

Not necessarily. An old FWB of mine described me to a friend as “a super sweet guy and an absolute dork”. That was 9 months of some of the best sex I’ve ever had. I think you err in thinking that “being a gentleman” and “being hot” are connected. You can be a gentleman and be incredibly sexy, or not sexy at all. I’m talking about what most people find attractive. So conventionally attractive people? Right. I specifically said up front that guys like Barry are unconventionally attractive- they have folks drooling over them in spite of the fact that their features aren’t ones that are traditionally favored. But even if we accept the thesis that guys like that are only popular because of social media, that social media trend of thirsting over them had to start somewhere. Some women saw Barry/Adam/Pete befo…

There are. Plenty of great looking guys with legions of female fans who are shorter than 5’8 too (Tom Cruise, Bruno Mars, Usher, Kit Harrington, etc). They surmounted the disadvantage. As much as women like them now, they would have had even more women into them if they were 6’2.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/12/24 09:13 PM
2

I’m speaking in relative terms. If I were to take a 6’4 guy with movie star good looks and pit him against a 4/10 woman in a contest of “Who can sleep with the most people in a week?” with $10 million dollars on the line, the 4/10 woman would have such a commanding lead within two days that I would likely have to invoke the mercy rule. Women will almost always have more options than guys do.

I don’t think there’s such a thing as “objectively attractive”. By definition, attractiveness is about perception. There are societies where being obese was/is seen as an attractive quality (Google “Leblouh” if you’re curious about that). Just like clothes go in and out of style, types of people go in and out of style as well. The early 2000s were all about women trying to be skinny as possible, until society decided that big butts were better in the 2010s. Now the pendulum is starting to swing the other direction again.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/12/24 08:32 PM

Being a 5’8 guy is a disadvantage, but not a fatal one. I’d say that the equivalent for a woman would be having a great body but less-than symmetrical face (not quite ugly, but definitely not pretty either).

Most of the people celebrating aren’t celebrating that a man is dead; they’re celebrating that someone took action against a system they have been victimized by and/or feel powerless against. Life Pro Tip: If you have friends that are chronically late, tell them that something starts 30-60 minutes before it actually does. I planned a celebratory dinner for some of my friends tonight, but told them the reservation was 30 minutes earlier than it actually was. Lo and behold, a whole bunch of text messages saying “Hey Anon, sorry- I’m running late” are popping up on my phone now. Little do they know that they are actually on time!

Dang- what's your signature dish? I think the biggest sticking point here is that I absolutely want kids and she adamantly doesn't. On top of that, her family is kinda racist, and I'm not sure I would want those folks as my in-laws/grandparents to any potential children I may have, so I'm reasonably sure she's not the one.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/11/24 02:15 PM

We did clearly define things up front as a friends with benefits situation when this started, so hopefully we can avoid the situationship trap. Still though, I enjoy celebrating holidays, and I think I'd enjoy celebrating with her if the status quo holds.

People who are strongly in favor of traditional gender roles tend to put more effort into performing the expectations of those roles. As such, a lot of right wingers get obsessed with physical fitness (oftentimes including steroids). However, I don’t think your premise is entirely correct. Many traditionally masculine men are staunch Democrats (i.e. LeBron James) while many men who aren’t traditionally masculine are on the right (i.e. Ben Shapiro).

Closer to some than others. I feel like you older you get, the more irrelevant they become to you (and you to them). In the end, what really remains is your parents or if you're the parent, your kids This is oftentimes true, but this is also something that’s within your power to change. Ask friends/family to have lunch. Invite them over to watch the game. Give them a call when they achieve something cool. Relationships take effort, but oftentimes less effort than you think.

6 inches isn’t average, but I do think that what most girls THINK is 6 inches is average. Speaking from experience, women tend to overestimate length by a inch or so, sometimes by 2 if you’re on the bigger side. Most pornstars are in the 7-8 inch range

Many such cases! I think the reason for this dynamic is that the non-white partner may feel (real or imagined) judgement from their community for dating a white person. I don’t think it’s that women inherently prefer extroverted personalities. It’s more that extroverted guys are more likely to strike up conversations with women, and are therefore usually get more practice/experience than their introverted counterparts. I have plenty of female friends who will often say things to the tune of “Men are trash” usually in response to some romantic misfortune. Some of these are pretty intuitive (doesn’t reciprocate, drug addict, mixed signals), and some are aligned with my personal preferences (I don’t like girls who are too passive or have poor conversation skills), but I disagree with most of it: “Insecure” is generally a much better indicator of bad behavior than “big ego”. What does “withholds femininity” even mean? What’s wrong with playing video games? I could go on, but this tier list doesn’t seem like it was made by a serious person.

they often do *extra stuff* if you get them in a vip lounge or some other private area of the club That's the "very illegal" bit. they're sex workers just like OF models. why do men watch porn? bc it fulfills their fantasies? duh Well yeah, but watching porn is free. If it's an FWB or a long-term partner, of course. It's good to know what your partner likes, what they don't like, and what they might be interested in trying. I personally recommend the Carnal Calibration quiz- you and your partner each check off which scenarios/kinks you would be interested in exploring, and at the end it gives you a list of the things both of you indicated interest in. That way, if you checked off something embarrassing, your partner will never know that you did (unless they'…

That’s just the most vivid example, but ask most women who engage in casual sex, and they’ll tell you a story about a time where a guy they would have slept with ruined the moment by saying something awkward.

I don’t think me throwing up on her shoes would be considered a dumb remark 😂. On a side note though, waiting too long to make your move can also be an attraction killer. I’ve found that “strike while the iron is hot” is a good rule of thumb.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/11/24 07:48 PM
2

I’ve had women who straight up told me they wanted to sleep with me that I ended up not sleeping with because I said/did something dumb at the last second. Would they have overlooked it if I was hotter? I mean, maybe. But the evidence would suggest that attraction can be fumbled in an instant.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/11/24 07:38 PM

Let me give a more illustrative example. Imagine twin brothers, both 5/10 in their appearance. We’ll call them Allen and Bill. Allen becomes skilled at making people laugh, has excellent fashion sense, and gets a high paying job right out of college. He uses his salary to travel and have other cool experiences, which he documents on social media. Bill, meanwhile, doesn’t like people much and prefers to stay home. He makes an average income and doesn’t pay much attention to clothes or grooming. D…
/r/PurplePillDebate08/11/24 07:33 PM

Looks are absolutely important; you can get away with a LOT of bullshit if you’re hot enough. That being said, it’s more than possible to make up for deficiencies in the looks department (to a point) by excelling in other ways.

/r/PurplePillDebate08/11/24 04:59 PM

I'm sure that's happening with a handful of people, but I don't buy that it's happening to a significant degree. If you're a woman and you wanted children prior, I doubt that a bad administration taking power would suddenly change your mind (unless you secretly wanted an excuse to not have children anyway).

"Not voting for your sisters to have their rights stripped away" is a baseline. More is needed to truly be considered a catch. This is the correct take, imo. Guys who were already doing well with women will continue doing well with women. Guys who were not doing well with women will continue to not do well with women. Being the one who approaches (regardless of gender) always puts you in the more vulnerable position. I get why women don’t approach- I wouldn’t either if I knew I didn’t have to. Still, plenty of girls shoot themselves in the foot by refusing to take any active role in the courtship process. I have a good number of female friends who are bi/lesbian; watching them try to date other women is funny because oftentimes neither party wants to take any initiative.

I think you’re misunderstanding the responsive sexuality idea. Go to any nightclub on the weekend, and you’ll find plenty of women hooking up with guys they just met. However, in most of these cases, the guys had to “activate” the women’s sexuality by making a gesture of pursuit (i.e. asking them to dance, buying them a drink, or striking up a flirty conversation). For a lot of women, the sexiest thing in the world is feeling desired. As such, a girl might see a 6/10 guy in the street and not pa…

I don't 100% agree with this particular premise, but it's certainly true in some cases, and the reason why seems pretty intuitive. Many women aren't super interested in LTRs/commitment when they're younger, so it makes sense for them to date the most attractive/exciting guys they can find. When they do start looking for commitment, they start screening for qualities that they didn't screen for before, because those qualities aren't super relevant in a casual relationship. I've experienced sexual harassment/assault by women on multiple occasions. And if someone cheats just because of horniness and opportunity, that usually represents one of two things: Very poor impulse control, or dissatisfaction with your sex life with your partner. When we start asking the questions “Why can’t you control your impulses?” or “Why aren’t you satisfied with intimacy with your partner?” we can get to the real heart of the matter. I do agree with you in that the article can be read as overly sympathetic to cheaters though.

dishonorability and selfishness are the prime reasons for infidelity Sure, but there are reasons for dishonorable and selfish behavior. People don’t just wake up in the morning and think “I’m going to do something shitty, just for funsies!” There’s always something underpinning those actions.

I think the big sticking point here would be kids. If you don’t plan on having any, or just see this as a short-term situation, there’s not much of an issue. If you do want kids, then you’ll have to think about how you’ll decide how the children will be raised.

I asked my previous question about what constitutes a “date” because it feels like the term “date” has somewhat fallen out of use with Gen Z/younger millennials. People usually say “hang out” or “Let’s do [activity]” instead of directly asking people out. Whether that’s a good or bad thing I can’t tell- I see the benefits and drawbacks of each approach. Just something interesting I noticed.

Yes, you go for 6 feet tall men. Yes, you like the assholes, the Chads and the badboys. Yes, you friendzone men and the friendzone exists. Yes, there are women who are attracted to money or status. Breaking News: Women prefer attractive, exciting, successful men to less attractive, less exciting, less successful men. More at 9. Seriously though, it's not like any of this was a secret. Most women will freely admit that they find height, wealth, and status to be attractive qualities.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/09/24 01:54 AM

Many people from Latin American/Asia fetishize whiteness- it’s a holdover from colonialism that never quite went away. Interestingly enough, this doesn’t seem to have hit the Black community nearly as hard (though that’s not saying it didn’t hit at all; colorism is a very real thing).

I mean, sorta? The relationships portrayed in both of those stories aren't portrayed in a particularly healthy way. A lot of folks in the BDSM scene were actually upset about 50 Shades because the male lead violates a bunch of the rules of the community uses to ensure safety. These are fantasies of course, so they don't HAVE to be realistically healthy- "My Secret Garden", which aimed to catalog and analyze women's sexual fantasies, contains a LOT of things that nobody would realistically want.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/09/24 07:57 PM

I don’t think it’s too controversial to say that there’s a sizable percentage of women who like those kinds of romance stories. ContraPoints’ video on Twilight is an excellent examination of why things like Twilight, 50 Shades, and other fantasies of that nature sell so well.

Possibly? But the other thing about the being on the losing side of a war is that a large chunk of the young male population often dies. As such, the surviving men are looking at a much more favorable dating market. For an extreme example of this, you can look at what happened to Paraguay in the late 1800s after 70-90% of the male population died because their leader decided to pick a fight with three much larger countries at once.

Each team has four chances (“downs”) to move the ball a total of ten yards. If they are successful in this, they get a new set of four downs. If not, the other team gets the ball. The goal of the game is to score 6 points by getting the ball to the end of the field (a “touchdown”), or if they can’t do this, to score 3 points kicking it through a set of posts at the end of the field (a “field goal”). After touchdowns, teams also have the chance to kick for an extra point.

She apologized for sending mixed messages, and said that while she definitely does have feelings for me, she’s never been in a relationship before, so she’s still trying to sort things out herself. Avoiding loneliness definitely takes more and more effort the older you get- people get busy with careers and kids and whatnot, so making time for friends can be harder. The decline of third spaces and the rise of smartphones have aggravated the problem significantly.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/09/24 09:23 PM

I was actually in Scenario B for a bit (She wasn’t making quite that much, but she was still very well-off). It was fun! She ended up breaking things off because she wanted kids, and being in her mid-30s, she needed a guy who would be ready right away. Hopefully she finds what she’s looking for, because she’s really cool. I’d give A a shot too though if she had some ambition on her.

This is generally true. I’m mostly friends with women, and they’re shockingly open about their love lives/thoughts on sex and romance. I don’t think I’d have been nearly as successful in my own romantic exploits if I hadn’t learned from them.

Well, we can look at a few guys with endless options to find out. Leonardo DiCaprio seems to have mostly tall blondes in his dating history (though his most recent girlfriends have had dark hair). I’m too lazy to do a full investigation right now, but I think there’s enough high profile men whose dating histories are public for this to be an answerable question.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/09/24 06:08 PM
5

It’s a way of proving their feminist credentials in the face of outside evidence, I think. For example, there’s a certain type of girl (usually Asian or Latina) who loudly complain about white men, even though her dating history is almost exclusively white men. You see a similar thing with bisexual girls who are dating guys- bashing straight men makes them feel closer to the visibly LGBT folks.

The fact that we’re having this discussion proves my point: Race (Black, White, etc) is something that humans believed into existence, and have adjusted over time to suit their needs (separate from ethnicity, which is a real thing). You can call Kamala what you want, but the fact is that the world at large sees her as a Black woman in accordance with the cultural attitudes of the place she lives. There is no significant number of people who dispute that.

I care about what my, actual African Americans, community says. We are the identity, history, etc. We shouldn't have to co opt our identity. I know Brazil isn't a Hispanic country, but it is a Latino country that deals with a very similar dynamic. [This video](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=haw3ROMgP7g) pretty effectively makes the case for race being simply a matter of perception. Black American is designated for black Americans. Aka, descendants of enslaved people brought to USA. It doesn’t matter what your culture thinks. Kamala is an American in America. American history, culture, and laws designate people with visible African descent as Black, whether they look like Mariah Carey or Lupita Nyongo. If the African ancestry becomes so diluted that you cannot see visible African ancestry, then that person will no longer be considered Black by Americans. If she were in your country, that perception would change, but she’s not in your country.

I’m curious; what gave you that impression?
/r/PurplePillDebate11/09/24 07:27 PM

Well, America does have the one drop mindset, and since Kamala is an American in America, she’s Black for all intents and purposes. She would’ve been drinking out of the same water fountain as you and I back in the Jim Crow days.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/09/24 07:26 PM
2

Race isn’t a real thing; it’s a matter of perception. Kamala has been perceived by herself and by others as a Black person her entire life (except by you and Donald Trump, apparently). Most white people in the United States aren’t fully white either (though the term “white” is a pretty nebulous term anyway).

Most of my friends are women; I know far more about their sex lives than I do about any of my guy friends. The guys I know might say something along the lines of “I slept with this super hot chick last night”, but that’s about as much detail as they go into. Meanwhile, the women I know will often give the whole play by play, complete with colorful metaphors and comparisons to past lovers.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/09/24 04:34 PM

All women are different, and as such, the “signs” you are supposed to pick up on will often be different. I’ve known women who were fine with straight up grinding on dudes they had zero interest in. I’ve also known girls whose version of being forward was just standing vaguely near a guy and hoping that he talked to her. All you can do is use your best judgement and accept rejection with grace if you’re wrong.

I think it’s a culture thing. Some folks spent their formative years in environments where giving the play-by-play of your sexual encounters was no more controversial than giving the play by play of a football game. Others come from environments where even alluding to the existence of sex is seen as crass. There’s a wide range of cultural attitudes between those two extremes; just gotta make sure that you and your partner are on the same page about it.

True equality of opportunity is impossible, but we shouldn’t let perfect be the enemy of good. How does one actually take women home from the club? I’ve done pretty well for myself with women, but this particular area has eluded me. Of all the girls I’ve been with, only two fit the description of “did not know them at all before, but took them home that same night we met”. If we expand the definition to “women who gave me their numbers at the club, but I didn’t sleep with them until later”, then I can count five “successes”. However, pretty much all of those successes were dumb luck and/o…

We can split hairs over the exact wording, but in general, wouldn’t you say that you feel excited when it’s time to do something with your boyfriend?

Stories are stories; life is life. Most girls don’t want to date a psychotic vampire who keeps them locked up all day. However, most girls do want a guy who can take charge and “sweep them off their feet” so to speak. The psychotic vampire example is just an extreme reflection of that desire to feel passive and feminine, in the same way that James Bond is an extreme reflection of the male desire to feel powerful and desirable.

There’s a lot to it, but the core idea is that while men are usually praised for taking an active role in the romantic process, women were usually shamed for taking an active role. This goes for both men and women- women tend to slut shame far more than men do, and all over the internet you can find women of all ages discouraging other women from approaching men for fear of being seen as desperate. However, even though women are expected by society to be the passive ones, they’re still humans wi…

There are two interpretations of the word “safe” in this context, I think. In one, the opposite of “safe” is “scary”; in the other, the opposite of “safe” is “exhilarating”. Guys should want to be the first kind of safe (stable, not physically or emotionally abusive, not giving serial killer vibes). However, being the other kind of safe (boring, meek, predictable) is usually a turn-off for women.

I posted this on a different thread, but I think everyone on this sub would benefit from the Contrapoints video “Twilight”. Super insightful look into the anatomy of arousal, desire, and fantasy.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/09/24 11:39 PM

You should check out Contrapoints’ video “Twilight”; it does a very good job of breaking down why certain tropes are so common in romance media aimed at women. And no, it’s not because women want to be abused.

Others just say looks don't matter, any guy who gets laid by one nightstands a lot is a Chad. This is pretty much the barometer I use. “Chad” is any man (regardless of appearance) who can easily and consistently get one night stands from attractive women, without the women expecting anything (money, favors, gifts, commitment, etc.) in return.

While elevated testosterone levels certainly contribute to aggression, I think another contributing factor is that society generally teaches boys associate masculinity with violence from a very young age.

In order of frequency: Older Chads looking to settle down and have kids, tradcon Chads looking for their tradwife, and guys who are not “Chad” in any meaningful way but are appealing to women with fantasies of “saving” a guy.

Went to a singles event at a local bar tonight; some of my experience/observation: I’d say the crowd was a pretty good cross-section of society. The age range for the event was set at 21-35, but I saw people of all races, and of varying levels of attractiveness. I was on my own, since most of my friend group are in relationships, but thankfully it seemed like a lot of other folks there were in the same boat. The gender ratio was relatively even; perhaps 55-45 men:women. However, large portions o…

Also Them: I like getting gifts, fancy dates & travelling all over the world Here's the thing though. If you look at the men these women are actually dating, they're usually either not up to the women's supposed standards, or they're much much older. Young, attractive, successful men who are okay with spending all their cash on women are usually either playboys or religious tradcon types.

The archetypical “bad boy” has a mixture of good and bad traits: Good: Confident Assertive Courageous Charismatic Neutral or Bad, depending on the situation: Risk taking Low inhibition Irresponsible Disregard for rules and authorities
/r/PurplePillDebate04/09/24 04:14 AM

Can be either one, but usually it’s “excusing bad behavior because he’s hot”. Women who are attracted by bad behavior (not confidence/assertiveness, which pretty much all women are attracted to, but ACTUAL bad behavior) generally have some sort of savior complex, and get their jollies from the idea that they’re “fixing” or “saving” a guy.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/09/24 04:11 AM

By nurture usually. The girls who date those types of guys usually have a “Beauty and the Beast” fantasy in their head. They like to think that the proverbial “beast” will change his ways and fully commit to her because she’s just so special. There’s a reason why that particular subgenre of romance is so popular.

For context, I discovered that a former FWB of mine had been cheating on her boyfriend with me for a significant portion of the time we were hanging out. A few that stand out: I met my first girlfriend my freshman year of college through one of my friend groups. She was the sort of person that NEEDED to be in a relationship at all times; being very inexperienced at the time, I didn't clock this as the red flag it was. It turned out she actually had feelings for another guy in our friend group (who had a gf at the time), and she threw me out like yesterday's garbage the day he became single. While I did get a bit of vindication (the guy she dumped…

In my experience, "alt"/"hippie" chicks tend to be more open with their sexuality. As such, they tend to have a better understanding both of what pleases them and what pleases their partners.
/r/PurplePillDebate31/08/24 04:50 PM

From what I've seen of my female friends, most of them are pretty open about preferring tall, handsome, rich dudes. That being said, a point in the Blue Pill's favor is that a lot of these same women will pull up with the most 5'7, least employed loser you've seen in your entire life, and will defend him to the death when other people point out that they're dating a bum.

If you talk to women who are overweight or otherwise not conventionally attractive, you’ll likely hear a number of them talk about how some guys are happy to sleep with them and spend time with them, but also refuse to be seen with them in public or introduce them to friends. Not all guys do this, but there is a (perhaps subconscious) belief among some that the attractiveness of the woman on your arm will affect other people’s view of you.

He’s not being critical of your appearance in that scenario; you’re being critical of your appearance in that scenario. As a counterfactual, imagine that your man has a mole he feels is unsightly and often complains about, despite you saying that you don’t think it makes him less attractive. However, because you see that the mole is causing him anguish, you offer to have a skilled dermatologist remove the mole. Does your man have a right to get angry with you about that?

That’s a bit harsh on the hypothetical guy, no? Think from his perspective: Wife: “I’m dissatisfied with how I look.” Husband: “Well, I like how you look, honey.” Wife: “I’m still frustrated with my appearance.” Husband [thinking]: “Man, I really wish my wife saw herself the way I saw her. I wonder if there’s something I could do to help with her insecurities? Maybe I should call that doctor that my sister-in-law mentioned a while back…” Even if it’s not quite the right thing, it’s pretty clear …

Addendum to this post My friend and I just had dinner again, and we had a good heart to heart about various areas of our lives. I really enjoy our weekly meal, but I’m still not sure if she’s waiting for me to make a move or if she just finds me to be a good confidant. Either way, weekly dinners with her will continue for the foreseeable future, so I suppose we’ll see. Women are complicated.

Anyone who argues that men and women can’t be friends is implicitly also arguing that gay men can’t be friends with other gay men, lesbians can’t be friends with other lesbians, and bisexual people can’t really have friends at all (which would be a very silly thing to argue). Don’t care if my partner has platonic male friends; former exes and FWBs would have to be evaluated on a case by case basis.
