Accept your past. Process and deal with it and don't try to block it with force. Seems superficial, but really just do it. Also ask yourself, why you wanna establish these new habits. Great technique, eager to try it out myself. Thanks for sharing. I can also recommend you try audio entrainment methods, boosting the ability of reaching the meditative state earlier. Right now i am meditating once or twice a day for 20 minutes, using an audio entrainment created by a market leader. Establishing such a habit is quite beneficial, my body/mind does not even need a timer anymore, the urge to stop meditating around 20 minutes is now deeply ingrained.
