More often than not though, they breach the topic by stating that men shouldn’t be allowed to do something despite women being allowed to do it. When I mention the clear disparity, they often stay quiet, as if it’s their first time ever considering it. It’s eerie. I won’t allow it, I have lots of self respect, but there are times when they try to get away with imposing double standards and I have to call them out, they don’t like it, but I’m pretty good about showing people how they’re being unfair. There are lots of semi-subtle, not so immediately destructive easy ways in which their sexism shows it’s ugly head though. It feels like I’m playing wack-a-mole with it a lot of the time.
