Laser hair removal on my back and shoulders 8 years ago. Great decision. I was an ape. Recommend it if the hair bothers you. Chest and stomach I trim short (but not too short) every 3-4 weeks. 7mm chest, 3-5 mm stomach if you’re interested. 6 pack clearly visible even with the hair and I don’t look like a pre-pubescent with a shaved front.

There are no special tricks to get into the 10-12% body fat range. This shouldn't be hard to maintain once achieved. If you are tracking calories and the moving average of your weight (you are tracking your weight, right?) is declining then to drop further, reduce calories by 500 per week and continue as is. I assume your hitting your macro targets and not forgetting to count all the beers. Looking to get under 10% is a different game. Edit: I should also mention that even though everyone seems …

Aging not very well due to balding, too much sun, and too much booze. work out 6 day’s a week, 2-3 gym days, 2-3 trail running and mountain bike, occasional surf or moto. Yeah. When I was chubby and balding I was convinced that my sex life was over. My body language also gave it away. Now that I’m ripped and shave my head I get more IOIs than at any other time in my life. Girls over 25 (and some under) don’t give a fuck about a guys hair if he is muscular and confident. Become that guy.

Have you given any thought as to why your wife is not responding to your changes? I see you're six months in to this and already at dread level 7. It took my wife a long time to internalise the changes that resulted from me stopping some of the Nice Guy behaviours. I also went Rambo at the beginning which didn't help at all. Has she given you an reason at all to suspect that she might be noticing that you are different?

Listen man, it is Nietzsche, the famous german philosopher, not Niche. ---- Brought to you courtesy of pedant bot ---- You're going to find some women who will be totally put off by the fact that you're married and others that won't care (at least at the beginning stages). Its only when things go on for a while and they consider the possibility of a relationship that the might start piling on the pressure. Anyway, it is great that you are owning it. Otherwise we'd need a new book on the sidebar,…

Career: I am an engineer at a large company. My job is not fulfilling, and I do not put in extra effort. The extra effort gets no extra pay and a minimal chance of a promotion. The promotion would be a little more money and a lot more stress, work, and longer hours. Not interested. For now I am staying where I am at. My job is in the mission critical path, and reduces my chances of me being fired or have my job cut. Someone else would have to do my work, every week, after learning how to do it. …

Is it on my radar. I used to be such a natural part of my routine that I never noticed how much of an effect it had. Now I'm monitoring it and am making it a priority. The other problem I have, which is a direct result of this issue, is drinking too much coffee. Probably to counteract the grogginess caused by lower sleep quality caused by the booze. You can see that now alcohol works as a perfect antidote to the caffeine effect. Slippery slope. In my last OYS I mentioned cutting it out during th…

I really have no idea. However, as I get older and survey the scene I've realised that I don't want to just be an employee or a self-employed contractor or any other form of gun for hire. Too much uncertainty, too little control of circumstances, no scope for making something your own. That's as far as i've got (which isn't far at all). I was taught in true BP style to get a good education, get a good job, work up the career ladder to support a family. I did it, i'm not particularly happy. Yes, …

I appreciate your comments so let me ask a question. What should you do if you don't like your wife? Imagine that you no longer like her personality or the shape of her body. Imagine she has not looked after herself as you've aged together. I'm not saying here that you strongly dis-like those things, in which case it might be time to move on. But lets say that there has been enough divergence over the course of a relationship that you no longer have strong feelings about the woman who was once y…

You’d be lucky to find 1 in 10,000 women who would join you for a bowl of collard greens for breakfast. I have the same problem as you - a wife who was in great shape when we met and now won’t exercise regularly (or at all). Move on with your plan. Get in great fucking shape. She will follow or she won’t. Then assess how important it is to you to have a wife who follows your lead or not.

We have a 10ft(?) formal dining table - so when we eat as a family, that is the spot. It'd look a bit awkward for us to sit at the table with my wife and I at the ends and the kids at the sides. Nope. You at the end, wife on the left, kids on the right (or whichever configuration gets you all together at one end). I get that week days are not compatible. What about the weekends?

I made breakfast with the kids (biscuits from scratch) and we ate as a family at the “big” table. Where do you normally eat? This is one area you can cement your role as the head of the family. Sit at the head of the table every meal. And for God's sake, make sure that when you eat together as a family that you all do eat at the table.

I've also observed that when I have my porn addiction under control, controlling my eating is harder - and vice versa. The porn addiction is the more important one for me to get on top of. At least with the eating, I can exercise... This is only a half truth. Yes you can burn calories with exercise but not nearly enough to negate the effects of over/binge eating. If you're 14% body fat then just keep at it until you are down around 10% or so. Back fat (especially around the lower back) is one of the most stubborn parts for men. Once you get there then look into one of Lyle McDonalds' fat loss protocols. They are tough but they get the job done.

Yes, yes I do. I've always used my social anxiety as an excuse for not putting myself out there. I was taking some private lessons but that was counter-productive to the goal of meeting people. Need to make this a priority. Thanks for the book recommendation. I'm in a awkward place right now. I have very little attraction to Mrs Zeno at the moment so I'm not initiating much in either phase. I got to the stage of feeling more and more anxiety about her response when I tried to initiate after each rejection, that when she eventually was receptive, my performance end up being terrible. That would leave me feeling bitter and resentful so I've backed off a bit. I'm sure it is mostly disappointment at myself for having failed so far to get the results I wa…

I found myself welling up reading your post. It seems it touched a nerve. For me the source of feeling like you do was two-fold; the persistent influence of a domineering and controlling mother, and the second (and more acute source), being present at the violent death of a friend when I was around 15 years old. The anxiety caused by fear of external (and negative) judgement is difficult to deal with but (without getting to Freudian) the self needs to make its presence know. Repressing it or att…

None - week 3 of 3 months - all forms of sex. Figured out that I masturbate when I get rejected from my wife or when I feel stress. Starting to notice my wife's patterns better now that sex is off the table. Not having sex is challenging and am starting to wonder if 3 months is too long. It took a bit of time to work out that this is a self-imposed three months off sex. At first reading I misunderstood that your wife was giving you hard nos. Alcohol: Goal was to stop drinking M-TH unless out for event/team. Fail on one of the days. I guess this isn’t a significant goal for me, should I just eliminate the goal rather than fail/succeed randomly (i.e., I’m not putting in any effort to this). When I drink, even if I don't get excessive, then next day things are just that little bit harder all round. You need a spotter. Are you worried about the weight or do you suspect you have poor form and the heavier weight might take you beyond your limit? I would suggest that you take a few weeks off back squatting and switch to front squat. If you only back squat it will be a humbling experience. Drop the weight and focus on where you feel weakness in your posture then slowly build up the weight again in the front squat. Once you get some progression THEN go back and hit the heavy weight back squat an…

Man, first of all, if she needs space then DO NOT be the one to leave. Tell her she is welcome to have some space and show her the door. The daughter stays with you. Secondly, you need to grow a pair. I mean that with the best intentions. Why does this woman have so much power over you? Broken record. Read the sidebar. "Are you mad?" "No, I'm not mad" "Yes you are. I can tell" "No, I'm not mad" Etc If you can pull it off by either not getting mad or masking your anger then use some AA. "Honey I'm not mad. This. I tried what you are proposing and it doesn't work. You might get your shit together (which is good for you) but you still won't be having any sex (which is not good for you). If you are doing this for all the reasons you describe then why not go into monk mode for a few weeks but if, like me, you secretly want to also observe a behaviour change in her then I can save you the hassle - there won't be any positive one for you (only for her).
/r/askMRP24/06/17 05:05 AM

That was shortly after her period so I knew it'd be OK. Given the emphasis Athol puts on those two behaviours for ensuring attraction I can see they're important, but how can you consistently keep her "topped up with sperm" as Athol put it without another pregnancy? I'd be careful with that. The hormone effect is likely small compared to the sex drought that comes from having a small baby around. Check out the Standard Days Method if you're wife isn't on birth control. I use the method but also …

Your body won't sustain a 1500kcal intake for long without your hormone production getting out of wack. In all honesty, why the rush? Take on a mild calorie deficit, lift, do the odd bit of cardio and then give it time. Looks like you're getting there already. Massive calorie deficits will give you short term weight loss but the chances of going on a binge are much greater, and a binge eating session will undo most of the good work you've done so far. If you're weighting yourself a lot just be a…

Contrary to conventional wisdom, unless you are relatively lean, it is possible to both gain muscle and lose fat. Resistance training (lifting) and diet on their own can get you to 10% BF. It takes time. If you are not conscious of what you're eating then use a tracking app and scales for a few weeks to get an idea. You don't need to do intermittent fasting either. Just work out on a small calorie deficit (say 20%) for a couple of months. I personally don't enjoy IF. It works but I prefer to eat…

Since this post is derived from a comment I made I should probably respond. My reading of the OPs context is that he doesn't have kids. At that stage of my life I never had an issue with meals. In fact, both myself and my wife worked at the time and so planning and cooking together was part of an enjoyable shared responsibility (we both had to eat after all). Times change. I should clarify; She hasn't exercised in years. I've been sick for four or five months and even then I've hit the gym as often as I could manage. The gym issue is only one indicator of general attitude although there are obvious benefits for both of us if she was getting into shape.

Only active stretches before lifting, not static. You won't go far wrong following something like Pavel Tsatouline's Super Joints program (manual available for free with a quick search on Google).
