Is this base on empirical evidences?

Im in the middle and no one is in the middle Karl Gauss disagrees with you. The gaussian curve, or the bell curve if you prefer, taught us that most things are in the middle. By hurting your self-esteem, you will decrease your own perceived mating value...therefore increasing the odds of maintaining the relationship with a partner of a lower value. Its a common strategy when there is a disparency of value between 2 partners. The "lower" one will try to decrease the partner's value through sabota…

Dating and relationship are tightly correlated to status and mating value. What define someone's value depends on social context and culture. In our society, beauty and money are strong factor of mating value. Generally speaking, 10s go out with 10s, 8s go out with 8s and 5s go out with 5s. You will rarely see a 5 go out with a 10. A 5 going out with a 10 will be insecure...and this person has a good reason to be because empiric evidences show that this relation has a high chance of failing. Wha…

It is just that the smarter people usually get the less likely they are to understand if they make wrong conclusions and the less likely they are to understand that they are in fact not so bright as they think they are. They don't question their own thinking anymore because they experience to seldom that someone proves them wrong. I consider myself more intelligent than the average (judging by my academic and professional success) and I dont relate to that at all. I think you're mixing many pers…

Oh, maybe I've misunderstood OP's idea. The rationality ALWAYS comes after-the-fact. I understand that, when a decision has to be make... Step 1 : make the decisions because of emotions Step 2 : act on your decision Step 3 : rationnalize your action by logic, rationality, etc. Is that right ? Or am I mistaken ? Because my point is, all decisions are emotional AND rational. One feeds off from the other. It's not 100 % of one and 0 % of the other. A decision is fueled by both emotions and rational…

But bigger decisions in life Bigger life decisions like what ? Are buying a house, changing job and breaking up big life decisions ? What about having a child ? All these are heavily influenced by rationality. I would like to buy a house but I'm not stable career-wise yet. So buying a house would most likely be a very bad decision given my situation. Emotions dont come first and rationality after. Emotions and rationality work together before I make a decision or a big move. Do I need to cite re…

Oh okay, now I get it better, thanks ! The rationality ALWAYS comes after-the-fact. I guess it's the always that bothers me. Logic and rationality makes up a big % of my daily decisions and my life decision. For example, I need to buy groceries today. When, how and where I'm going to buy groceries is a rational decision. What I'm going to buy is also rational. If it was all emotional, I would buy nothing but steaks and cookies. A lot of my life decisions are also rational. Where I live, which ap…

you can look up the statistics on your own if you feel that I have said something inaccurate. The task to come up with evidence belong to the one making the argument. If you talk statistics, you have to have them. If you can't bother looking up citations for it, why are you talking about it ? read up on phenomenons like cognitive bias and confirmation bias. How these biais are related to your original point (Do not discard that to admitting I also added the angle that ALL people do more emotiona…

Statistically What stats are you talking about ? Can you share them (link, reference, etc.) ? Do not discard that to admitting I also added the angle that ALL people do more emotional decisions than they'd like to think. The rationality ALWAYS comes after-the-fact. If you do not "admit" to that - there's a great chance you too are deceiving yourself into the belief that you're a superior logical being :) That makes no sense.

All I can say is that I identified with a lot of what was said there And I identify myself a lot with my astrology...sometimes. It doesnt mean astrology is reliable. It is just that, there is so much stuff on the internet, the odds are, you'll stumble upon something that makes sense to you. Even if it's completely wrong or random. Listen to your feelings and act on them to improve your situation. But please, disregard the article you read since it is just clouding your judgment.

Cant help you much...but dont take serisouly the article you cited. It's a pile of crap. It seems like you are validating your believes with anything you can.

Consider your self lucky. He told, very honestly, how he feels about the relationship. He told you bluntly that this relationship will not last. A lot of people dont want to admit it to themself until it is obvious to them. He basically broke up with you and flat told you he wants a FWB. Now it is up to you what you will do with that very precious information. You can either accept it and roll with it. Enjoy the time left with him, knowing that will come to an end. Or you can cut your loss, end …

My ex said stuff like that. She wanted me to be assertive and take the lead. Every time I tried to, I was met with resistance or apathy. She wanted me to decide, but she had very precise expectations and if they werent met, she was unhappy with my calls. It was much more easier to just let her decide and say precisely what she wants. With my current lover, I can assume the role of the leader and being somewhat assertive. But I think it's just not in my nature to tell others what to do...but anyw…

You have to understand that, no matter what the outcomes are, it has no impact on your self-value. If you have to "win" someone over, you are in for troubles. I mean, the way you see dating is flawed and it is a sure way to get "affected" when things dont go as planned.

Uh, where do you live ? Why is mariage such a big issue ? Is it, like, a cultural thing ? Peer pressure ? He wants to share his day to day life and move your relationship forward with you. As far as I'm concern, that's the only thing that matters. What would be the difference if you were married ?

Interesting point, mediocre arguments. Your logic and definition of love/respect is flawed on many aspects. Overall, it suffers of oversimplification.
