I used to work at a convenience store on overnights. We'd call the cops for drunks and drug addicts tearing shit up or fighting and they would take twenty to forty minutes just to show up. And that was in a town of less than 30,000. Unless you're willing to try and keep them there it's best to just throw them out and file the report after. Pretty sure it's still a valid pass. Women, on average, get 63% less sentence time than men for the same crime. At 13 years to the guidelines of a minimum 25 makes it 52% of the time she should be serving for the sentencing guidelines. Not quite as good as the average but still, that's a lot of leniency. I have no doubt most men sentenced under that same crime get no leniency from those sentencing guidelines in that area. EDIT math was off.

It's a little different than this context. Most courts try to preserve both parental relationships if possible. I got to agree. The US is so obsessed with obesity that we've gone crazy over it. We've got to prevent one problem but, our solutions don't take into account the problems they're causing. I was very lucky. I was able to talk to the detective who worked te case after I was all over and he explained to me why he thought that her story had holes. Besides certain details changing, her mother kept trying to do most of the talking. They had her leave the room, and then more details changed. They brought up the inconsistencies, and she confessed that she didn't want to get in trouble for having boys over, and that it hadn't been true.
