Is these something that you really enjoy doing? Do your like your job other than the income? I’ve been in this situation many times. Although it feels everything is going great, I’ve learned that growth equals aliveness. Progress is happiness. What are some goals you can set for yourself? Run a a marathon in a year? Create a 2K a month sidebusiness? Pick up that hobby you liked as a kid? You need to have things to look out to again

This. Take a walk and give yourself the assignment to really look around and see 25 girls you would like to bang. Do this. And see that that there are so much more. Then spend your time focusing on yourself

Truth. Try to focus on yourself, new social circles and people, and hobbies. Put you first. This will pass with time.

Great post. Could you expand on number 4, or give some examples of how environments can kickstart the process?

That attraction is not a choice. It's either there or it's not. If it's there, enjoy and escalate. If it's not, just move on to different ones. Should be fuck yeah, or no.

Make your life as awesome as possible. Do stuff YOU like. Make your life só full with hobbies, work, projects, friends, exercise etcetera that you are just excited about everything that is happening and is coming. Then your life is already full and you are not looking for others or those things to 'complete' you.

Yeah, kind of depends on how cool you are and she is. You can also just say u need to go and forget about the showering. But if u spend the night and she goes straight to work etc. it's a reasonable thing to do.

Depending on the time over there, if it's early morning - just say you don't want to be boring but you need to work early. Wake her up, give her some time to shower, and then walk out together (and return after a walk around the block if you don't have to actually work).

It was not about the opening up. You likely already established an image of a fuckable SMV. Then having an excuse together, combined with your DGAF attitude (talking about what you wanted to talk about) got the deal done. These things were established. Without these, opening up wouldn't worked.

Good to hear. But ... don't kid yourself. You will need this knowledge over and over again. Come back to the knowledge regularly, whether that's weekly or monthly. You will encounter so many situations that ask for clarification, and you will likely find insights here and in the sidebar.

Could very likely be from your texting. Often girls want space after being together for long or intimately. By you instantly texting a lot, you showed you were needy. You really should have waited a day or so. Also: only use texting for setting up logistics and the rare funny remark. Don't do the never ending WhatsApp chatting. Well, you should do what you did and meet more women. Then also go out and try meeting women in clubs/bars/college wherever, while working on yourself. Meeting more women…

Exactly - that's truly comparable to the described situation. He's kind of in the friendzone-frame, since he's the roommate (and is in a relationship with someone else), and I was in the flirty/sexual/single vibe from the start. So as you said, I will talk to him. But very realistically - I'm not sure he will get anywhere if he tries to because of the set frame.

True. 'Theoretically' knowing them, but since I'm single again, slowly but steadily starting to see some girls, and definitely working on myself. Will keep him as a friend right now, but could very well be that I'll move on (don't have the intention right now, but time will tell).

You need some longer term goals. Take 3 months. What would you like to have improved in three months? How many workouts, or even better: how many pounds gained? How many X and X? Do this for all your hobbies and work. So study, work, exercise, hobby A, hobby B, etc. Then work your way back to what you need to do this week. Block in these things, and you can have fun with the rest.

What I'm more and more realizing is that the easiest way to get to a result is the following: Define a result you would like to have. Can be f*cking a new girl every week. Can be becoming ripped. Can be having great posture. Find people that already have that result, and ask what they did. Make a plan to replicate their steps, but over a long time. Ask these same people (mentors, coaches, trainers) to keep you accountable to your plan. They will measure, manage and redirect. Examples: Result is …

Hey man, thanks for sharing. That does help. Great tips regarding the live events. Will absolutely start going to some places alone, and live events have a low barrier, so a good start. Also I think it is good to understand that changing your lifestyle does require time and patience for it to feel natural again. Going out alone and feel comfortable with you, slowly but steadily socializing and meeting new people, and getting more and more in social circles are all great steps. Thanks for the res…

Lol. Just posted a reply super similar to this. Ended a 4Y LTR a month ago, and have the same desire for awesome like-minded single dudes. Maybe you and me should have a beer.

Thank you. I feel I'm doing all points pretty all right, as I've been holding TRP very close when going through the break-up, but now am anxiously searching for single male friends to party with (been reaching out to old friends a lot, and have been doing a lot of social activities). You are so right, couple friends just don't have the same party/socialize/let's-have-fun appeal. Any tips on how to end up with more awesome male friends that are single?

Cool stuff. Something I'm definitely gonna try. Same here: out of a long LTR, so no interest in dates. Question: what do you think about making your Tinder/whateverapp bio day specific? Like saying: "I hate boring Fridaynights as well. Come give me a high five ... bar XXX" (or something more fun). That's likely the ultimate screening. Have you tried something like that?

Hey man, going through a 4 year LTR-breakup myself. It's only been a month, but I'm doing fairly well (couple nights of feeling loss, but the rest planned with fun parties). Here are things that helped me out tremendously, maybe it can so something for you. These are a couple of steps that I'm taking: 1. Getting closure (in your mind) 2. Start dating yourself Have you written the entire logical sequence of happenings down? I know it's been months, but it might help to structure things in your mi…

What helped me a lot is to actually go to events that you LIKE. It sounds so basic and obvious, but start by going to some artists/bands/meetups/conferences about topics that you actually like. That way you are going for the artist/music/topic. If you're into philosophy, go to a philosophy event. If you love weird underground techno, go there - but just to enjoy the music. You will see that as a side effect, you might people that you actually connect with because you can talk about an actual int…

I can relate that sometimes this advice and theory can seem distant from the 'real world', however that changes when you start actually meeting other like-minded people that you can discuss this with. Suddenly it then becomes much more real. The you discover this stuff is all through. What would help if this thread would actually just be spoken messages. Instead of text. Something like that would make it much more real, much more 'these are normal human beings'. Find people in your area to discu…

This taps into how Men and Women love differently. As Rollo said: "Men are the real romantics." To OP: read sidebar again on difference of 'loving'. But apart from words/definitions: I agree!

That's a great philosophy to live by. But biologically your legacy should be genes passed off, right? Obviously today we have the choice (or at least different rationalization to cope with death), which is great. But that impulse to leave a legacy is, possibly, either biological (leave children), or a way of increasing one's influence ('making your mark on society')/social status ('how are people going to remember you') - so still the same imperative?
