Yes. Women genetically descend from dominant men, so women have subconscious vestigial desires to be in the sexually dominant position. But if they meet an attractive man then this desire usually goes away.

One time a very cute woman sat next to me on the plane during the holidays, but she had her young son with her. Judging by the lack of any ring on her finger and the fact that she was flying alone with her kid, I assumed that she was likely a single mom. I ultimately decided against engaging in conversation with her. But looking back I could've said something. Not every conversation needs to lead to romance, after all.
