Not true. "Beauty is a part of who you are" applies equally to both men and women. If anything "Men value women for what they are and women value men for what they do" may be the statement that has a chance to be misogynist because it does make a difference between men and women. It indirectly promotes misogyny because the whole "men value women for what they are and that's superior" follows from it. The two are linked, so people nip that in the bud by dissociating your looks from who you are. T…

This is the best argument that you or anyone said about this topic. And It would be fine except for the reason that for any other topic it is fine to make assumptions and speculations based on the available evidence. Yes, but that's because in these other topics, making these assumptions doesn't indirectly result in the promotion of disparaging ideas that affect half the population. That's why. In this topic, it very much does. It's not the same situation, so the procedure is not the same. I don…

Using the socially acceptable excuse of cooking food, doesn't excuse you pretending to be naive about his intentions. You knew he wanted to fuck. Why else would he invite you home -and cook for you? Because he wanted to cook and hang out with her in a comfortable place without having to worry about public appearances? Why do people love to pretend like people never go over to one another's places without sleeping together? You're NOT "leading someone on" just by going over to their place without…

If we lived in a reality where a personality can exist outside of a body I would be with you. Plenty of people believe we live in such a reality. The thing is, the way you define a person is problematic and impractical because it's based on atheistic ideology and many, many people aren't atheists. You can't go this deep without acknowledging that there is uncertainty regarding what humans are (what anything is actually). However everybody, religious or not, agrees that people are a consciousness…

People can exist in a system that does not recognize private property. So what? We live in a system that does recognize private property so why can that not be the definition in the system that we live in? You act like a definition has to work in every possible context to be valid, but if you're going to take it that far, then we might as well say that people are nothing more than a consciousness. Just imagine the popular fantasy novel scenario where two people switch bodies. It's the consciousn…

That is not true. If a woman tells me/shows me that she loves a man for his body/electricity I would be unable to say that she is incapable of loving someone for who they are. But most women will love a rich man more than a broke one (if everything else is equal) and you know it, so you are making women in general look bad by condemning the love of money more than the love of looks. I fail to see how the actions someone takes make any difference on who they are. I fail to see how the actions som…

Even if I think that it is better (and I do), it is only my opinion. Yes, it's your opinion, but we're talking about opinions, so there's no need to respond with platitudes that you don't believe in. It comes across like you're gaslighting and being disingenuous when you do that. The criteria to say that an characteristic is part of you and not something you have is the following: If it exist as part of your body and the electrical patterns within it, then it is part of you. And who came up with…

Not better. Just different. Oh please. Why don't you just admit that you think men's way of loving is better? Why hide behind that platitude? You literally just implied that men are more likely to "truly value" women by saying this: Valuing someone because of what they actually are (a body and electrical impulses inside that body) is the only way to truly value them. Yet somehow they're still not "better" to you "just different"? Why? What makes them "not better" despite this? And if you don't f…

In order to illicit sexual arousal you need to be beautiful. Okay, and in order to have money, you need to be smart/lucky/strong/whatever made you rich, but you don't seem to care about that. A woman's beauty only matters insofar that it ellicits feelings of awe and arousal. It's not the beauty itself (the physical traits) but what it does (the feelings it causes) that makes that "beauty" valuable. Men love the feelings the looks create not just the looks in and of themselves. Why the obsession …

You and your wife dedicate yourself to building something really good I think that the difference is that men traditionally build by having careers and careers have an element of choice that housework, child-rearing and being your spouse's pretty sweet sidekick doesn't have. Doing housework and raising kids is a path that requires a lot of boring, repetitive tasks that don't necessarily have much to do with your own personal passions. It's because men can traditionally build while doing a job th…

So, you've got a lot for respect for women deciding for themselves what they want? /s Your sentence is not grammatically correct, so I'm not sure what you meant, but it sounds like you're arguing that it's disrespectful or sexist of me to say that hetero women want to please men, but hetero men also want to please women like I said, so you don't have a point. Both genders make choices depending on what the opposite gender wants.

To decide what you care about and force it to have value and respect for its own sake by valuing it yourself, regardless of what men and "society" (which was just other men anyway) think of it. But just because you value something doesn't mean that you can force other people to do the same. You're advocating for something impossible. If you argue that it's possible, you have to explain how concretely, because all you do is talk in abstract terms. So tell me, how would you go about forcing people…

You have to care more about your career than your children. Where are the feminists who say that? Encouraging women to be financially independent or pursue whatever they feel ambitious about in general does not equal encouraging women to prioritize career over their very own kids. I'm pretty sure everyone, including feminists, don't advocate for anything that could lead to child neglect. Encouraging women to have careers is less about wanting women to be corporate slaves and more about encouragi…

Then why, after 40 years of feminism, with women in decision making positions do women obssess about beauty and fashion Because women are humans and humans like attention and validation. Beauty and fashion is a good way to receive that as a woman. Furthermore, men still reward feminine women with more attention than masculine ones despite feminism. Most women still care about the attention of men because they are hetero and they don't want to be alone, no matter how much they wish they didn't ca…

Isn’t that life though? Making sacrifices and trying to build something good as a result? Life is that but not only that. If all you do, continually, is bite your tongue and sacrifice and sacrifice some more for a payoff that's barely worth it, life becomes a chore. Yet women in particular are put under pressure to live that kind of life because that's what femininity is largely about ("be patient", "be pretty", "be sweet", "be pure", "be submissive", give, give, give all the time) and when they…

They made women feel bad about being women and convinced them that only men's roles had value This type of gaslighting needs to stop. Feminists did NOT invent the notion that femininity is less valuable than masculinity, that idea already existed and feminists simply reacted to it. To me it seems that feminists are people who wanted respect and power and noticed that being feminine hardly gives you that. Women can't love him the way he wants to be loved. They are incapable of doing so. Why are you acting like that is not true for men as well? In another response, you say that men can love women the way women want to be loved and not the reverse, but what do you know about the way women want to be loved? Visibly not much, because you act like there aren't women complaining about men not loving them for their strong independence and their degrees or not being valued enough for traits other than yo…

No it's not. Have you looked at human history? I'm talking about today's society, which is of course a lot more humane than it has been in the past in many ways. Humans aren't fundamentally decent. Once again I suggest you open a history book. I never said we were "fundamentally decent". Just because human's tend to fail at living up to their own ideals, it doesn't mean that failing to do so should be encouraged or nothing should be done to keep them from failing. Now if it's the hardcore eviden…

The point is this whole strength, size and height argument is a total distraction from traits that matter more for physical attraction. But this whole post is about height and femininity, so why are you trying to shift the discussion to other traits that matter for physical attraction? You can discuss these other traits on other posts made for that. Also, I didn't say that no traits matter other than these, I just said that these traits mattered. The whole strength, size and height story is way …

Some huge data set thing showed that the average partner count for all men is the same except men 5'4 and below. Think about that for a second now. I don't understand what your point is with this sorry. Did the survey say that the short guys partnered up with taller girls? Because there are a lot of short girls out there who give short guys a chance more easily. Girls generally want a guy their height or taller.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/06/19 08:36 PM
2

Why is height more important than muscle size and strength of the muscles and their appearance? That's something you'll have to ask an evolutionary psychologist. I have just observed that it is. If strength was more important, all the guys at r/short would just get really jacked to get a girlfriend, but they don't seem to have many options for a girlfriend no matter what they do... meanwhile tall guys seem to do well even when they don't particularly go to the gym a lot.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/06/19 08:19 PM

Well now we've gotta decide if femininity is all about strength (man stronger), height (him taller) or size (him just bigger, even if just fatter). Take your pick. Why can't feeling feminine depend on all of these things? Why do I have to pick one? It's total BS. That means that women are going head over heels watching short guys lift heavy weights every time lol. No, it doesn't. It can be about height and strength, but one can be more important than the other. I think height is more important w…

Ok so it's really about size, not height? No. People also seem hardwired to be less likely to find someone taller than them cute or dainty. I used "tall" and "big" and "short" and "small" interchangeably in my explanation because the effects they have on people is the same. Sorry that this wasn't clear enough. This is some weird obsession level discussion with STRENGTH for sure. Well, we're talking about masculinity here and what threatens it, so it makes sense that strength is gonna be a big pa…

I'll repost my other reply under the right post thiq time. Sorry for the second inbox notification. Masculinity seems to be a quite a bit more resilient. Most guys don't seem to feel their balls shrink when the girl next to them doesn't have D cups I don't think that's true. Masculinity and femininity are both fragile in different ways. People in general (men and women) seem hardwired to feel more protective over something smaller than them (like pets or children) and are more likely to think th…

I don't think it's the same thing. A better equivalent to women feeling unfeminine next to a shorter boyfriend is like the way a man feels next to a stronger girlfriend. How would you feel if your girl was more muscular than you? If she could carry you and fight off people to save you thanks to her giant pecs, but you couldn't do the same in reverse, would that throw you off? Would you feel masculine in that specific moment when she's carrying you around in her arms? I think that's the feeling w…

I really don't think that many people nowadays have a hard time believing that men are naturally less risk averse than women. They just believe that women not speaking up is due to more than that. it is forbidden to acknowledge that men may be simply be better than women at something Having a smaller aversion to risk is not always better. Many people don't have healthy responses to being criticized so being straightforward often isn't the best response to have. It depends on the situation. I bet…

I don’t understand why women are told they can’t speak up and voice their concerns. Most dudes, including me, don’t care and would prefer they actually speak the hell up for once. Because women have a harder time not being viewed as "naggy" or "bitchy" or overdramatic when they complain about something than men. I think that's the belief that makes them think through more whether they should speak up and how they should. Men speak up more because they don't have to worry about being invalidated …

Well yes because men's weight doesn't affect their attractiveness as much as women's weight affects theirs. That's not a sign that men deal better with being low value, it's a sign that not being fat is more important in women than in men. The behavior of incels makes it pretty clear that men also have a hard time dealing with being low value. They just can't say that publicly because complaining instead of acting like they've accepted their fate lowers their RMV and SMV even more.

She doesn't keep men around after sleeping with them for very long, which shows she has a preference for sexual novelty, which will inevitably lead to cheating or at the very least a loss of a attraction over the length of time. Do you think this applies to men with high n-counts as well?
/r/PurplePillDebate04/06/19 05:11 AM
1

People are so offended by men's n-count preference because that preference is degrading to women. The notion that she should save herself for her future man so that he can proudly feel like he has sole ownership of her sexuality paints this picture of women who refuse to save themselves as damaged goods. It's degrading because women don't care about their own n count and neither does pretty much anyone, yet they lose almost all their value as a LTR partner if it's high and she can't easily compe…

Because TRP discusses male sexual strategy, why should men discussing how male sexual, strategy care about how their discussion affects their hypothetical daughter? Because avoiding doing things that unnecessarily harm others is encouraged in every other context and there's no reason why TRP should be any different. It's the golden rule. Common human decency. This is really sad and I'm afraid that that's why most magazines don't tell women about how their value works. Instead, they put the emphasis on "be whoever you want to be, everything is feminine" because the truth as you've explained here is depressing and also not conductive to the happy, sweet disposition you need to have in order to be the easily molded, submissive partner you need to be to have high RMV as the partner of an attractive man. Lots of men just want this stuff to impress materialistic women. And lots of them want that because they like it or to impress their friends too. Only one party can currently beinvoluntarily forced into 18 years of parental obligation. Which comes at the price of the woman having 18 years of parental obligation as well. Even if you wanted the kid, being a parent is still a challenge and there's always some unpleasant parts to it. It should be both, or neither. I'm against the idea of "Consent to sex isn't consent to parenthood"... But only for women. Why? Nature isn't fair. Women suffer more during the childbearing process than men do, so why should they not get more of a say in it than men do in order to make it fair?

Financial abortions aren't legal because the childbearing process is not fair. If a woman is pregnant, she either suffers through an abortion or suffers through a pregnancy. She can't escape without suffering, but a man can. As for the rest, my response is here: https://www.reddit.com/r/PurplePillDebate/comments/btzlib/people_that_cry_awalt_are_going_for_trash_but/ep7g2ub/

I know what the red pill is and I understand your point but So maybe the men on The Red Pill are wrong about men. This would be very important if they were trying to date or have casual sex with men. But they're not. This is important no matter what they are trying to do, given that the misogyny that some men learn there is expressed in the form of real-life violent acts towards women. I'm sure you've heard about those times when incels were on the news. This whole notion that "the red pill is a…

So true. It's not just not objective, it's outright dangerous. Plenty of actual misogynists slip through the cracks if you're just going to assume that all that AWALT talk is mostly meant as a casual warning against human nature than as a commentary on women and only women's nature, even when there is absolutely no way of telling the two apart.

So men being shitty people is kind of irrelevant. It is clearly not irrelevant to the many red pill men who spout the vilest opinions about women in their subs, showing that they believe that women are inferior to them. Talking about "women are emotional like kids" as if grown men don't beat each other up over what team won what sports game, "loyalty is a male value" as if the men who can do so don't dump their old wives for a younger girl. Red pillers and MGTOW are constantly insulting women in…

Just existing and being in a relationship with someone is value-less when you're a man. That's valueless when you're a woman as well. Guys don't stay with women that don't offer them anything either and they also leave when a better option comes along sometimes. All People are like that. Red pillers really need to stop acting like men are ultra generous angels with no standards whatsoever who are totally capable of unconditional love for their partners. Nobody is like that.

Male sexuality is constantly scrutinized, so it would be redundant. It would not be redundant considering how many red pillers act like women are evil and men are so pure. Male sexuality is scrutinized in many places, but not so much on the red pill, hence all the misogyny. It would be nice to keep that in check. Most of our natural urges tell us to pump and dump, lie to get laid, and take advantage of compromised women. Those urges also advise to go for the super rude girl who is very pretty, j…

AMALT. The catchy phrase you're looking for is AMALT. And people have a bigger problem with AWALT because alot of the stuff in there is more degrading than what AMALT says. I seriously doubt that most red pillers would not have a problem with someone saying that most men are rapists and that's just in their nature lol. Red pillers go on and on about how men are so loyal and so nice and give everything into relationships but women leave them for no good reason. The high divorce rate cannot be bec…

Then why do the red pillers who recognize themselves in the first list put their energy into viciously ridiculing/resenting women for picking guys in the second category instead of putting it into becoming bold and daring themselves? Surely, a woman would pick a guy who is bold and daring and has the former traits over a guy that is bold and daring and has the latter traits, wouldn't she?

Why are they so fixated on women still being on the lookout after committment when men do exactly the same? Women sometimes leave their guy for a more powerful one and men sometimes leave their woman for a prettier one. Yet red pillers tend to look down on women and women only. How does that make sense?

Ya its called femininity By who? Who, other than you, is literally out there saying that "all good traits are feminine and all bad ones are masculine"? What I see is that feminists aren't preoccupied with labeling things as feminine or masculine themselves, they just encourage women to be whatever they want, regardless of whether mainstream or traditional culture considers what they want "feminine" or "masculine" In this thread for instance, you have real life feminists sharing what they think, …

if feminists where really fighting only part of masculinity that they have issue with then there must be positive masculinity, ie masculinity they like. There is masculinity they like. How is encouraging women to be more assertive (and fighting against them being called "bitchy" if they are), get higher education, have high-powered jobs and pursuing STEM careers not portraying a certain type of masculinity as positive? Or are you honestly arguing that feminists don't campaign for all of this I j…

So? So it doesn't make sense to act like this definition says that all of masculinity is bad. MRAs don't believe that. Probably because positive masculinity does not exist within feminism? Why do you think that? If feminists were against all of masculinity, they would advocate for fighting against all of masculinity, not just "toxic masculinity". It's called "toxic masculinity" to separate it from normal masculinity, which feminists encourage all the time by telling women that they can be strong…

What was all the fuss about if a woman cannot highlight her abuse at the hands of men abusing their privilege? The fuss was there in order to give women the courage to do so by letting them know they're not alone. why is it so hard for people to accept that him touching them may have been with their consent? It may have been, I just wanted to highlight that just because they didn't press charges, it doesn't mean that it was. You're telling me that models and gorgeous women hang around rich men i…

I meant that she could be leaving it out because she's scared that her current boyfriend won't believe that she isn't hung up on her ex anymore (my bad), like you believe that she is. And he could have a hard time believing that she's over her ex for the same reason that you don't believe it.

The definition she or he posted about masculinity is exactly what MRAs align with. It defines toxic masculinity as the thing that causes men to not be vulnerable even when they need to, which aligns with the MRA complaints on how men are always told to "man up" no matter what. It points out the norm of hypersexuality, the one that causes female teachers to get away with sleeping with their underage male students more easily because "he probably liked it". Toxic masculinity is basically the burde…

The thing is, everybody allows everyone in powerful positions (=money) to get away with immoral behavior more often. Even men are less likely to press charges against a billionaire than someone average. You act like taking down billionaires (male or female) in court is easy, even though they are more able to get the best laywers to fight back or use their money to win in other ways. Some rich men have been taken down by a woman's allegations, but that still does not mean it's a likely outcome. P…

But why push it to "every time"? The other poster said that in that situation where she's only sort of in the mood, she should do it half the time and half the time she shouldn't. You say she should do it every time. That doesn't sound like compromise. Couples connect and remain intimate in plenty of other ways. Pretty sure you're not killing your relationship by saying 'no' sometimes when you think that you could get yourself to a place where you're sort of kind of in the mood for it, but you d…

Not sure that's a good idea. I suspect that banning makeup would just cause less attractive people to have a lower chance at getting a job, because companies will keep favoring the good-looking (= more "presentable") people, with or without makeup ban. It would just make naturally good-looking people even more privileged.

Dances serve other purposes than encouraging dating. They help teens develop social skills. But in any case, I think it's counterproductive to not let teens date considering how much they learn about relationships when you do let them. Starting in college means spending their prime years learning the basics instead of using what they've learned to get the most attractive partner they can have.

Just because people shouldn't learn from the media doesn't mean they don't. Not everyone (or even most people, I bet) is this hyperaware of self-serving and confirmation bias. I still don't understand why you think that people don't compare themselves to what they see in the media. The belief that they do is the entire reason why so many people advocate for more realistic representations of beauty on magazine covers and the like. The assumption is, if you see a certain look be constantly praised…

Warning: I edited two paragraphs in this post 15 minutes after posting. I think that's true to an extent, but I'm not sure this contradicts the notion that they are "doing it for themselves". Everything we do is for ourselves. Women formulate it that way to emphasize this fact because they feel like people too often forget that when it comes to them. It's a reaction to the sense of entitlement that guys sometimes feels to hit on her relentlessly against her will, under the assumption that "she w…

Everybody, men included, dislikes demonstrating poor social aptitude. Everybody feels inadequate or embarrassed when they do. I know it's a gendered question, but it doesn't mean the answers have to be gendered too even when talking about qualities that both men and women have.

You know because you have been given attenion in the past when you dressed this way or you've seen other people dressed that way get positive attention too in real life or in the media. Why do comparisons to the media not count for you? People learn plenty of things from the media. It makes no sense to exclude it.

Why do you assume that his wife demands financial support from her husband even when he doesn't want to? If one partner wants to spend money on something and the other doesn't, don't most couples simply discuss why he's objecting and try to find a compromise? It looks like you talk about things in very black and white terms, even though it seems to me that every person in a relationship has to deal with their partner not wanting to do something for them sometimes, and usually that person is fine…

Okay but you still haven't answered the question. Does your wife know that you will cheat if she chooses not to sleep with you as much as you would like? Also, you might have been married for years, but that still only means you have experience with what it's like to be you and in a relationship with your wife. Reading what you write makes me wonder if even most people are like you and your wife.

I understand what you said, but I don't think it's so necessary to be focused on the example that I used. The celebrities were just one example. I'm asking about all guys who have lots of options in general. If the public image aspect of my celebrity example bothers you, you can discuss the behavior of a man with lots of options who doesn't have a prominent public image to uphold. Like some random non-famous guy who is just very good-looking. He could have no LTRs until he's 35 without anybody j…

So you believe that the majority of very attractive men don't actually lead a monogamous lifestyle, ever in their lives? I don't use only celebrities as reference point, I was just using that as an example.

Can't men love muliple women, since they're naturally polygamous? I don't understand what you're quoting.

They can love multiple people though, can't they? What about when the honeymoon phase is over? Being too old to want polygamy happens really late in the life of a man though. But some very attractive celebrities marry early, like in their twenties.
