190	TV shows makes a comedy out of a 29 year old woman sleeping with a 17 year old boy. She gets pregnant and he is the bad guy! A big factor here is the age of consent in Texas (even today) is 17. I'd be willing to wager that's why they didn't use 16. 17 is treated as an adult for these matters. It's still wrong. And in the show both of them are shunned by her family, not just him. 7	I hate double standards so much There is a distinct double standard in this world. It goes in both directions on different topics. But one important thing to note, that every young man must know, If you are uncomfortable, the other person is drunk or high, or they are making accusations, get the F#$K out of there. I don't know about in the UK. In the US, it would be a process but yes. Police in the US have protective immunity from their official actions. You'd have to show that it wasn't an official action. If they are acting outside if their duties, there are almost no protections. You can get restraining orders, which seize even their service firearms and prevent them from working.
