Eh. Relationships aren’t worth that much.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/08/26 06:31 PM

How do you even know that?
/r/PurplePillDebate03/08/26 12:58 PM

Nice thighs.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/08/26 12:53 PM

It’s weird. But I guess some people feel the need to have a close ally at work
/r/PurplePillDebate03/08/26 12:48 PM

Sure, it’s a bit odd at least. But this sub has so much trashy content, sex isn’t something that draws my attention. I don’t really think about the frustrated people when I write something here. I assume they mostly ignore my stuff.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/08/26 12:46 PM

Sure. Although I find tone difficult to read here. People say the craziest things and mean them, and the other way around.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/08/26 12:43 PM

I’m easily confused so it could have happened, but I don’t remember feeling rage. What do you mean by direct attacks?
/r/PurplePillDebate03/08/26 12:42 PM

You’ve been lucky if that’s your worst experience of group projects.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/08/26 12:01 AM
2

Better than them? Is there some sort of hierarchy here?
/r/PurplePillDebate02/08/26 11:59 PM
2

I can see your point in the example of mocking others, but how is taking about sex a clear ragebait?
/r/PurplePillDebate02/08/26 11:58 PM
2

That just sounds so weird. And it’s weird that I haven’t noticed, if it is true. I originally chose my flair because people kept asking about my relationship status and because I had hopes that people wouldn’t assume that I know about present day American dating culture.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/08/26 11:57 PM
3

Indeed. Furthermore, I don’t think relationships are even comparable. My marriage is something entirely different than someone’s else’s relationship or any kind of potential relationship.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/08/26 11:54 PM
3

Interesting, perhaps I will notice it from now on. I haven’t really thought about other people being in relationships as something people would have strong feelings about.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/08/26 09:41 PM
2

Ok. I haven’t noticed that but I could be focusing on different stuff than you.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/08/26 09:34 PM
4

I guess I could see that connection if it’s a direct reply to something. Other than that, I find it hard to believe that people would be so mean in such an odd, indirect way.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/08/26 09:32 PM

I don’t really think about single guys when I mention my husband or our marriage. It hasn’t crossed my mind that someone might see it as a rage bait.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/08/26 09:27 PM

I don’t understand what you’re asking. I don’t think meaningful actions are necessary or even a reasonable goal here. It was something you brought up. You said that you don’t understand the point of having that conversation without the expectation of meaningful actions, at least that’s how I interpreted your response but I could be wrong. I don’t believe they are necessary, we can just have discussions and see where it leads us.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/08/26 09:26 PM
3

Is it ragebaiting to talk about one’s marriage here?
/r/PurplePillDebate02/08/26 09:22 PM

Perhaps there is no point for you, I believe it can be a tool for self reflection. I don’t think it’s realistic to assume that most conversations here will lead to concrete, meaningful actions, especially right away.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/08/26 09:19 PM

I once had a conversation about my cousin here. Ever since she was a teenager, she was very clear about wanting to marry well. She did marry well and they are very happy. I was surprised to see some of the more levelheaded users here call her a gold digger and other names. Money seems to be a sensitive subject for many.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/08/26 09:16 PM

Google AI seems to pick up stuff on Reddit and Quora a lot. So now we know where to put that content. Men are worthy of love ❤️
/r/PurplePillDebate02/08/26 09:13 PM

I just think it’s something worth looking into. There’s nothing specific one needs to do about it.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/08/26 09:10 PM

It is indeed one of the confusing things people here get angry about (I’ve had so many women here get mad about it as well). But who would want their loved one dating someone who doesn’t have money? And isn’t it normal to have money? To want to have money?
/r/PurplePillDebate02/08/26 09:09 PM

I guess there’s an element of truth to that. We’re all more or less affected by culture and expectations. But there’s a difference between calling someone a homophobic person and challenging some of their views as homophobic, imo. I think I wouldn’t want to date a bi man, I am not sure why that is.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/08/26 09:04 PM
2

People need to produce more content about men being worthy of love, maybe then the overview would change 🤷🏽‍♀️
/r/PurplePillDebate02/08/26 04:27 PM
2

I don’t have those kind of experiences. Each person’s relationships and love lives are their own, they aren’t comparable.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/08/26 04:24 PM
1

What? Do you think the same way when single people talk about being single? Why would anyone’s relationship situation ragebait to anyone?
/r/PurplePillDebate02/08/26 01:17 PM
3

So now your parents are your whole lineage?
/r/PurplePillDebate02/08/26 01:08 PM

Sounds plausible. I briefly dated an autistic man and I have definitely been on dates with ADHD men. It wasn’t something completely unlikely to happen. But I don’t find connecting with ND men hard, so there was never a reason to rule them out. Perhaps autistic men have a different experience or maybe there are neurotypical men who hate dating ND women.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/08/26 10:10 PM
5

Sounds alarming. Who doesn’t like animals?
/r/PurplePillDebate01/08/26 10:01 PM
1

I could’ve dated ND men, it’s just not a sensible rule imo. There are already so many important preferences, like values and similar humour, to consider. Trying to find men like that from a group that’s already small just sounds like making things unnecessarily hard.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/08/26 09:55 PM
1

Sure, I have a lot of ND friends as well. But making friends is hard as it is, I just don’t see a reason to befriend only ND people or tell other people to only befriend fellow NDs.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/08/26 09:51 PM
1

I see, kind of. I haven’t really noticed nd as something that is undesirable to the majority. At least not in my case, which is why it didn’t cross my mind. It’s more of an hindrance in maintaining friendships with other women, not in romantic relationships with men.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/08/26 09:21 PM

I’ve often noticed that neurodivergent people are encouraged to date other neurodivergent individuals. I just wonder why? It already cuts out a huge portion of potential partners, even more so if combined with any other attribute. Plus there aren’t any clear benefits. Obviously people can date how they want. But as a neurodivergent woman, I don’t even think there are that many common similarities between neurodivergent women and neurodivergent men. On the contrary, I often feel more connected to…
/r/PurplePillDebate01/08/26 09:01 PM
2

I see. I’m a neurodivergent woman and I don’t experience connection with neurodivergent men very often. Of course it can happen and your preferences are yours, but I think the same attributes are often quite different in man and in women.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/08/26 08:53 PM
3

Why do you want someone who’s a neurodivergent? Everyone has some unpleasant sides to them, it’s best to know what you’re willing to accept and what is truly unacceptable to you.

I wish. American college sounds so fascinating.
/r/PurplePillDebate31/07/26 12:11 AM

I’m notoriously bad at picking up tension - in real life and in fiction. So romantic media is often a long streak of nothing to me. Sometimes I watch stuff again just to see if I notice that tension now that I know it’s supposed to be there.
/r/PurplePillDebate31/07/26 12:10 AM
3

I guess it depends on what your life was like during your studies. Americans often talk about their time in college as something that was almost a completely different time period in their lives compared to everything else. Whereas most people graduate when they’re much older where I live, work during their studies, spend gap years and sometimes start families during their studies.

Husband has been trying to cheer me up. His vacation starts tomorrow and he has planned a camping trip for us. I’m so excited it’s hard to contain it.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/07/26 06:07 PM

Isn’t what he’s doing now most likely doing the same thing? And I don’t really see the harm in avoiding someone you’re not compatible with anyway. If she’s not ok with his preference, better get it over with asap.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/07/26 03:18 PM

Does your profile already include that preference? Are trans women so crazy about you that they’ll try to match anyway?
/r/PurplePillDebate30/07/26 01:40 PM

I kind of agree, because I genuinely thought that we would stop receiving wedding invitations when most of our friends were already past their early twenties. No such luck, the pace is only increasing. But it’s mostly about the style of a wedding to me. When two young people get married, I understand all the rituals and speeches about “two people finding each other and committing” etc., but when it’s clearly two adults with a mortgage and sometimes children, it’s just awkward. The jig is up, spa…
/r/PurplePillDebate30/07/26 11:28 AM

That sounds awful. Not a great roommate either
/r/PurplePillDebate30/07/26 06:16 AM

I don’t know what that is but hopefully they aren’t big regrets?
/r/PurplePillDebate30/07/26 06:15 AM

Yeah I think there are often many factors at play. One might drink for a reason they didn’t fully realise back then, and when they get older, they might understand that reason better. At least that’s where I’ve noticed that regret often comes from, if there is regret. Alcohol is one of those substances that doesn’t really have a guaranteed healthy level of consumption. For some people - often women, due to biological factors - it takes much smaller quantities to feel the effects.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/07/26 06:14 AM

When I was about eight years old, I decided that I would never drink alcohol. I don’t think it has affected my life much, and I rarely think about it, but it is something that people bring up fairly often. Nowadays the conversations are slightly different, though. People want to talk about how much they consumed alcohol when they were younger, and some say they regret it. I don’t know what to reply to them, it feels like I am taking their confessions or something.

All relationships end and some find it harder to accept than others, they find coping mechanisms to decrease the pain.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/07/26 06:16 PM

I don’t understand why some people feel the need to make these blanket statements in order to sound convincing. Some women know what they want in their teens and are perfectly capable of loving their partners even then, some women want different things in different stages of their lives, etc.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/07/26 06:13 PM

I don’t know about the highest quality because I think it has a lot to do with compatibility. The best partner for you is the one who is the most compatible with you, not necessarily someone who might be the most desired overall. That being said, having a relatively athletic and muscular body type has helped me, even though it isn’t something women usually aspire to have. I think there are men (and women) who like that kind of body type and they are usually pretty assertive about it.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/07/26 07:13 PM

Same. Been there, done that. My ltr type isn’t too different from that, though.

It is! Or sick people going anywhere they don’t absolutely need to be. I was sick last week and my friend invited me to an event on Saturday, I told her I that I just had a flu and she asked me “so are you too tired to come?”, and I replied “no, but I am most likely still contagious”.

It’s mainly true but there’s some nuance to it. People tend to repeat the behaviour they’ve learned. I know people who have been or are in relationships that aren’t good for them. In most cases, it was pretty clear from the beginning but those people weren’t able to see it, because they thought it was normal (since they were used to that kind of behaviour and had come to expect it) or because they were so in need of validation that they focused on the “good things” or even imagined those good th…

What was the occasion? I had an acquaintance who custom ordered novelty condoms with his band’s logo. The print looked awful and the band wasn’t great, but I would love to know if anyone was brave enough to test them.

I see. When I have been in ldrs, I didn’t really think it like that. But there are quite many versions of ldr, too.

What do you mean by “will they, won’t they” in this context and do you believe it is something inherent to long distance relationships?
/r/PurplePillDebate27/07/26 05:22 PM
2

I see. I’ve been in two relationships that started as ldrs. First one was with a guy I hadn’t met before and we didn’t meet for two years into the relationship. The second one was with my husband. We had met and dated for a while, but then I got study and career opportunities elsewhere and we were ldr for five years or so. It felt normal and I didn’t even realise that those relationships were ldrs at the time. It was kind of liberating imo, but people are different and if you want to share, I wo…

I had a conversation here with men who said that the fact that they aren’t getting cold approaches at all is objectively worse than me having multiple similar experiences as the one in that story.

This. I throw up easily due to sensory issues and that’s why I avoid certain foods when I’m eating with other people. I’ll never understand why it bothers some people so much. I would rather not eat mayonnaise than try to discreetly eat the same mayonnaise several times.

Sometimes I do forget that dating (or trying to date) has been a far bigger part of people’s lives on average than it has been for me. I keep thinking that my experiences have been similar but they really haven’t and that’s why much of what I have to say is kind of off. We went to a cafeteria today and next to us were sitting two women who were talking quite loudly, so I couldn’t fully zone them out. One of them had just started a relationship and they were talking about that, and their previous…

Pretty good, we have the freedom to roam so no need to worry about that and you can camp almost anywhere if you need to. I was worried about my ankles as well, but I noticed that after starting heavier deadlifts, my feet and ankles have been getting stronger.

Hopefully! I do need new shoes anyway, my old hiking sneakers have too many holes. I will try to walk them in before my hiking trip but I will probably need to take my old shoes with me.

I have wanted to try trail running for years. Today we went to an outdoor store to buy some camping gear because I am going on a solo hiking trip in a few days, and I saw a beautiful pair of shoes there. I rarely make any impulse buys but I decided to buy them, because they fit my feet well. They just happened to be trail running/hiking shoes, and it believe it’s a sign.

Same. My parents divorced when I was already an adult and it has honestly improved things for everyone (as I knew it would). Dad actually helps my mom more now that they aren’t together anymore. I remember reading a post on twitter by a 30-year-old woman, stating that parents divorcing is the worst thing that can possibly happen to a child, even when the child is already an adult. When people disagreed with her, she just replied saying that those people are just too traumatised to realise how ba…

It’s a silly idea on so many levels. If he wants to pay for sex, he can just do that with a sex worker without having to assume anything.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/07/26 03:25 PM

I assumed that it depends on certain variables, like individual attributes and culture. I still do believe that. On average, men seem to feel pressure from different things than women, and it might make it seem that men have it harder. Since finding this sub, I’ve realised that there are lots of people who want to compete on “who has it harder”. Imo, gender is just one variable.

I don’t think sex is hard so if a man finds it even slightly difficult, it is more difficult for him than it is for me. That being said, sex is usually more enjoyable for both parties when we do more than just open our legs and take it.

Most cases I know of are about women recommending a guy to other women, not about that particular friend being attracted to a man. For example, I met my husband at a party, he approached me and I was attracted to me. Social proof was when my oldest friend recommended him. Social proof rarely makes someone attracted to you, if it didn’t already happen.

Sure, it’s not hard to find those kinds of texts. Those have always been part of feminism and will likely continue to be, although I don’t personally see the appeal. And we can disagree with what exactly is “mainstream feminism”. All and all, I think valuable criticism stands on its own. Some of it is valid and some of it is not.

I don’t think mainstream feminism is about hate, or if there even is just one “mainstream feminism”. That would be unlikely, since it is a worldwide movement. I see lots of differences within Europe already, let alone Europe vs USA. Obviously, there are lots of common attributes as well, otherwise we couldn’t talk about the same phenomenon. But I do agree that the hate towards TERFs is often overblown. Sure, I can understand the criticism to some degree, but often it just seems like unnecessary …

It’s odd really. I just don’t think he’s that good of an actor. Not bad (usually), but he was quite a bore in The ministry of ungentlemanly warfare.

I just love seeing how well liked my husband is. He is constantly asked to be a part of stuff. We’re both introverted but he has more social stamina than me.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/07/26 03:43 PM

My problem has often been that I don’t understand that the guy was looking for something more than just a friendship, because they didn’t say it directly enough. I assumed (because nothing else was said) that he just wanted to befriend me. So I can definitely understand the upset of feeling like you were used. But then again, that person might view it differently.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/07/26 09:55 AM

I don’t know about using, but a fair amount of women who say those things care more about their safety than whether he gets angry or not. As they should.

I haven’t seen my godson as often as I would’ve liked, but it was weirdly validating to notice how he relaxed with me. His mother was relieved to see that she didn’t have to entertain him as much as usually.

Nurse? Is that your education? Probably depends on how job is defined. I was eight when I started working at markets during summers and few weekends here and there during winter. After that, I started selling clothes as a side gig and got my first freelance job at a local publication at 14.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/07/26 01:48 PM

Funny, jobs are hard to get here (have been for over a decade for young people), which is why it’s mostly rich kids who are getting them. Retail was definitely my worst work place, it took me a long time to demask and start liking humans again after that.

Yeah I remember reading it multiple times at first. I thought my English was way worse than I had believed lol. All systems are definitely always rotting, they are moving targets in a way. It’s fascinating, especially considering how many people are scared of change, even though it’s inevitable. I studied bureaucracy for a while because of it.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/07/26 01:24 PM

Yeah that might be true for full time work. It doesn’t really suit me, I have almost always had multiple jobs or jobs while studying.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/07/26 01:18 PM

I’m not sure those shitty jobs built my character or if that’s even true with anyone I know. But I did start young so there’s no true way of knowing.

One shouldn’t do anything that makes them feel uncomfortable or unsafe when it comes to sex and relationships. Many women I know regret the relationships they had at that age, more so when there was an age gap, which is a big part of why I wouldn’t recommend it. Being with him wasn’t against my values and no one could’ve stopped me at that age anyway, but I can see how it might not work for most people.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/07/26 11:16 PM

The age of consent is 16 where I live, unless you’re an authority figure in their life (like teacher for example). And tbh, I didn’t tell him that I was 16 until I turned 17 and our mutual friend revealed it. I didn’t think it was relevant information back then.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/07/26 11:02 PM

You can. But seems a bit extreme tbh. It’s not that serious.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/07/26 10:50 PM

Really? I didn’t even think about it until I started seeing stories of people who were regretting their age gap relationships, and that was like two years ago lol. But yeah, I got what I wanted from that relationship and seeing things going how you visioned them is always deeply satisfying in itself.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/07/26 10:49 PM

Really? I didn’t think we were that bad. Of course he was more experienced, but that’s what I was looking for then. People can live very differently at that age. Obviously in any other age as well, but I feel like at that age the differences really stand out.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/07/26 10:46 PM

Well, yeah. It was part of the reason because why not lol. Plus we both went to the gym a lot and had a similar diet.

There was a discussion here couple weeks ago or so about age gaps and whether one would recommend them or not. I was in an age gap relationship when I was teen and I had a great time. It served my purposes and he was a great guy. We liked the same things (it was kind of terrifying lol) and had a similar sense of humour, and the sex was excellent. His friends and family were always nice to me as well. Still, I wouldn’t recommend age gap relationships to people at that age. It’s just not worth the…

Yes? What I am saying that I don’t understand how the average man’s interest in average women would be tied to the average woman’s interest in the average man.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/07/26 08:54 PM

I just find that whole thinking process quite repulsive. She would cut her son so that it would meet her aesthetic standards? Yuck.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/07/26 08:45 PM

I don’t believe that the average woman is very interested in the average man. If the average man finds himself uninterested in the average woman, that’s his business. My interest doesn’t work like that so I am not fully sure how those questions are connected. If I’m interested, I’m interested. What the other person thinks doesn’t matter much, at least not initially.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/07/26 08:37 PM

I can kind of understand where you’re coming from, as I have had those types of feelings about other aspects of life. But I find romantic relationships and compatibility to be too unique to compare myself to others or feel anything when others succeed. Do you think that those couples have something specific you might want or is it just because they have succeeded in finding each other?
/r/PurplePillDebate14/07/26 08:06 PM

Slightly off topic, but I find it interesting how so many men have this clearly defined understanding of what masculinity is, how it’s shaped and who can take it away. I don’t have a clear sense of femininity and I don’t know what might be a primal attack on it. Certainly not nice guys.

I’ve been with my husband for a relatively long time, and I have rarely seen him get angry or upset about anything. Of course people have presuppositions, it is not unique to have opinions about other people and their choices. People are also more than capable of being wrong, which is one good reason to not refrain from saying things out loud or in a clearly judgmental way.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/07/26 05:41 PM
2

I think being openly judgmental about other people’s lives and having preferences are two very different things, especially when you don’t know a lot about someone’s life. It’s perfectly ok to just not date someone or to say you’re not into it.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/07/26 12:57 PM
4

I think almost all preferences are fine. If there’s something wrong with them, it’s usually more about how they’re expressed. No one needs to justify their preference for taller men, and it’s usually best if you don’t.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/07/26 12:53 PM

I’m starting to like how my ass and thighs are shaping up. I’ve never been a fan of a huge ass, but having some size to it due to exercise usually looks nice.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/07/26 12:49 PM
3

It’s probably more about culture than it is about gender. But I do think it’s very condescending to tell people that they should’ve done something else, especially when your opinion wasn’t asked.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/07/26 12:47 PM
1

I wouldn’t know how to answer that question tbh. I don’t feel completely safe because it gets really dark and slippery in the winter and some people aren’t good drivers. It doesn’t have much to do with men, but it would probably be interpreted that way.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/07/26 05:03 PM

Do you mean that if you weren’t shy, more fit women would approach you?
/r/PurplePillDebate12/07/26 05:01 PM

Makes sense. I think many women know immediately whether they want to or not, the rest is just making sure he’s not a complete psycho.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/07/26 05:00 PM

Ironically?
/r/PurplePillDebate12/07/26 04:59 PM

Q4A: When you have been approached, have you noticed any types (people who seem to be into you)? Has any of them been surprising?
/r/PurplePillDebate12/07/26 02:50 PM

So much of mainstream media is already a headache to endure, there should at least be something to look at.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/07/26 01:51 PM

No one is attacking your freedom of expression. I was asking why you think others should join you, as that is how you phrased it.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/07/26 01:50 PM

If you think doing acts of service to your loved ones is beneath you, that’s fine. But why should everyone join you?
/r/PurplePillDebate12/07/26 01:46 PM

Why?
/r/PurplePillDebate12/07/26 01:39 PM

Interesting view.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/07/26 11:01 PM

I guess it might feel like love if one is insecure.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/07/26 09:03 PM

Why? What do women stand to gain from this?
/r/PurplePillDebate11/07/26 08:58 PM
5

Women who say “size doesn’t matter” are almost always talking about themselves and their point of view. You won’t change their minds by sharing porn. Size matters to me, just like plethora of other things. Very few people are completely open to anything, almost everyone has some preferences that exclude some people.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/07/26 08:55 PM

Before high school, it was good. At high school and in uni, it was horrible.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/07/26 05:25 PM

Studies say lots of things about success and likelihoods. One cannot apply all of those practices in their lives, there are always choices to be made. If one believes that wearing makeup is something that makes their career what it is and it’s not an intolerable sacrifice for them, that’s one thing. Judging other people’s professionalism solely based on that is another.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/07/26 03:58 PM
3

Perhaps they don’t have any moral responsibility, perhaps they do. What I find interesting is when they blame the cheated party for treating the “home wrecker” badly. Surely the lack of responsibility goes both ways.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/07/26 03:52 PM
1

Some women do indeed think like that. And they are welcome to do so. I have seen enough professional women to know that it’s not the case. There are all kinds of professionals in this world.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/07/26 03:42 PM
3

Yeah. If you wear makeup on a hiking trip, you need to wake up earlier than others and that’s usually not enjoyable. I can also see how it could also be a part of the experience. I have a cousin who wears makeup on hunting trips, and she wears a lot of it.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/07/26 03:33 PM
2

Meh, more experience rarely helps people who weren’t thinking in the first place. But yeah, if there weren’t any health risks, I would’ve had more casual sex. Why would I be hiding that from my partner though?
/r/PurplePillDebate11/07/26 03:19 PM
2

I rarely wear makeup and I don’t really have strong opinions about other people wearing it, I often forget about its existence all together. But for some people, it’s apparently a big thing. I have had people get angry at me when I say that not everyone wears it all the time. For example, I know for a fact that not all active swimmers bother to put it on between morning and evening practices, I certainly didn’t. And when I have been on hiking trips with other women, maybe two out of ten put make…

2

Yes. Research shows it’s one of the main factors of happiness.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/07/26 09:34 AM

Interesting, I have mostly the opposite experience. For example, my worst bully was playing his sport in some international league when he was actively bullying me. He followed me on my way home, seemed to know everything I was doing and even came to my summer camp after party for some reason. Most of my bullies were very athletic.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/07/26 07:15 PM

I wish I could name my eye colour 🥲
/r/PurplePillDebate10/07/26 07:11 PM

This summer vacation has to be about bench pressing and creativity, because I am lagging behind in both of those areas. I like leg days and pull movements, but I suck at push exercises. I went bench pressing today, it was embarrassing but I can only blame myself, so I added more bench pressing to my routine.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/07/26 06:51 PM

It is perfectly fine and acceptable to post less about this particular topic. We won’t mind.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/07/26 01:37 PM

Why?
/r/PurplePillDebate10/07/26 01:26 PM

It doesn’t really matter to me much, but I would probably wonder why use that particular semen then.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/07/26 01:20 PM

I guess the only way is up from such a point.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/07/26 01:17 PM

How? I thought you didn’t want an established relationship
/r/PurplePillDebate10/07/26 01:08 PM

Perhaps he had good genes so why not
/r/PurplePillDebate10/07/26 01:07 PM

Not really. But I have had anonymous users drag me to other subreddits to basically tell me that I suck but apparently they aren’t triggered, they’re just speaking facts.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/07/26 08:22 PM

Swimming, hugging my husband, gardening, art (enjoying and creating), literature (both writing and reading), studying, smelling something good. Yes in that order.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/07/26 08:20 PM

Anxious attachment comes in many forms.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/07/26 06:16 PM

I am bit weirded out by feminist branches that seem to be obsessed with men. To me it kind of defeats the purpose. But whatever makes them happy, I guess.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/07/26 06:14 PM
2

I didn’t think about it much. Usually those men would just tell me that they’re interested. They would communicate often and clearly, introduce me to the important people in their lives, show their interest physically, send letters, buy gifts, etc. It’s also possible that the guys who showed their interest in some other way just weren’t picked by my radar. I believe we’re all somewhat biased towards certain things, mostly depending on our temperament and previous experiences.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/07/26 06:04 PM

Public universal healthcare is a big buyer. Of course it depends how they would organise it. That being said, healthcare accessibility is a wicked problem which means there are no perfect solutions. There are many different ways to organise and manage universal healthcare.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/07/26 05:59 PM

Either she doesn’t know what conservative means, or she subscribes to the idea of “conservative values for you, but not for me” thinking (which is fairly popular nowadays, perhaps it always was) or she feels conflicted/cognitive dissonance (which could explain why she chooses to hide her face partially).
/r/PurplePillDebate09/07/26 05:53 PM

Perhaps universal healthcare could be part of the solution to overcharging as well.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/07/26 05:46 PM

What do you mean exactly? Most people do that, at least where I live. Legal papers only state whether it’s a shared custody or not, because it’s mandatory. Other details are between the parents.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/07/26 02:26 PM

Thank heavens. I was wondering what to make of this because I have no idea what that salon is.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/07/26 07:10 PM

Are we? I didn’t really care for masking while dating. It was very liberating.

I saw pictures of me and my husband, taken at a party last weekend. I don’t really like my appearance, but instead of constantly whining about it, even I must admit that my face looks quite symmetrical, my vibe was good, I have a good posture and my body type is indeed a muscular hourglass.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/07/26 07:35 PM

Yes, kind of. Do you mean that they lied about your appearance particularly or that they claimed that looks don’t matter?
/r/PurplePillDebate06/07/26 04:51 PM

Fascinating, I just can’t imagine how it might feel to be surrounded by people who were that kind to me growing up. But I never asked for dating advice from anyone so I guess I am partly to blame.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/07/26 03:54 PM

Deny what? That many women tend to over explain their preferences? Oh it certainly happens.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/07/26 03:52 PM

With all the talk about dead bedrooms, this place sometimes feels like a set of a boomer sitcom.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/07/26 03:48 PM

You have met some interesting adults then. My grandmother was always quite judgmental about looks and appearances.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/07/26 11:52 AM

Why would you like to drink, smoke, etc.?
/r/PurplePillDebate06/07/26 11:41 AM

But who were these people who tried to convince you otherwise? I was in kindergarten when I realised that being cute/attractive has an impact in the way people are treated. It wasn’t something anyone needed to tell me/could convince me otherwise.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/07/26 11:34 AM

People don’t really see their part in upholding customs and values. If we did, culture would be much easier to change and it would be easier to change people’s behavior overall.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/07/26 11:27 PM
2

I don’t know how we can debate on something that is a red flag for you. Your beliefs, values and risk assessment model are yours. What can any of us say? I don’t see how marriage would stop any of those risks, I don’t view them as likely to happen risks and I value knowing the person well before marriage more than you seem to do. And I don’t want to tell other women what they should value.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/07/26 11:25 PM
1

I don’t really think about gender and accountability like that. But I guess women are part of the problem when it comes to upholding beauty standards, a big part of it. Promiscuity is an interesting example. I’ve heard people criticise others for promiscuous behaviour maybe once or twice in my life, and even then no one actually cared.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/07/26 11:17 PM
2

True. My friends are the best but I would rather live alone as a hermit than be with any of their spouses.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/07/26 11:12 PM

If he lied, he’s called a lying bastard. If he didn’t lie and/or she didn’t ask, she’s called a naive fool.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/07/26 07:49 PM

I find the whole idea of “it’s defined by his intentions” to be quite confusing. Firstly, how can one know what goes in someone’s head? We’re talking about behaviour, not about thoughts. Secondly, it happens between two people. Why would his intentions mean more than her experience or her intentions? If two people were in some sort of an arrangement for months, calling it “pump and dump” afterwards sounds like a revenge fantasy or an afterthought.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/07/26 07:46 PM

It doesn’t say that, but based on conversations I’ve had with the mods just two months ago, that’s what it means. I was banned because of blocking.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/07/26 07:37 PM

Since when?
/r/PurplePillDebate05/07/26 05:47 PM

I have no recollection of you or what you have said/done, but how are those two things connected?
/r/PurplePillDebate05/07/26 03:33 PM
1

Yes, regularly. Babies and little kids especially. Yesterday I was at my relative’s birthday party, there was this guest who stared at me on numerous occasions, took pictures of me, and sometimes made angry comments about whatever. I’ve only met her twice in my life before, and she has always done that to me.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/07/26 09:02 AM

That context(your relationship) kind of muddies the whole conversation. Most people want their partner to treat them differently compared to others. An established, romantic relationship is a very different thing than other interactions in life.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/07/26 09:46 AM

Both are fine.

Planting my indoor plants in new pots. Training upper body. I also have a party to go to, the only invitation this summer I didn’t decline.

Sure, I’ve never thought about that exit strategy tbh. And I haven’t thought about who’s playing what either lol. Movie theaters are boring places for dates, though.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/07/26 07:38 AM

Perhaps, I’ve never had a coffee. But if I go to a specific place to have some food or drink, I usually do it for the taste and experience.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/07/26 07:36 AM
6

I’m often surprised by how quickly people turn debates into something personal. Disagreement over anything means that the other person is redacted, hates men/women/large cats, doesn’t understand English or is being dishonest, etc. And when you point that out, they often reply with “you can just go somewhere where everyone agrees with you, I’m not going to put you on a pedestal” or something.

Do you have control over your mom dying?
/r/PurplePillDebate03/07/26 09:10 PM

Someone who orders food/something to eat? Or what do you do at the coffee shop? Perhaps you may focus on what you drink, then.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/07/26 09:09 PM

What if politics makes your life more difficult? Like a new tax for an entrepreneur or an extra fee for someone who volunteers at the animal shelter.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/07/26 09:07 PM

Restaurants and coffee shops are boring places for early stage dates in my experience. Too much noise and smells, you have to focus on the food, and there’s usually a risk of seeing someone you know. The most fun early stage date activities I have experienced: roller skating, museums, theatre, walking, hiking, volunteering, swimming, skiing, driving around.

What things should be emotionally charged?
/r/PurplePillDebate03/07/26 08:57 PM

Depends on the girl. I would love it, and I have done that as a first date activity.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/07/26 08:45 PM

I’m 174 cm and would love to be tall.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/07/26 08:44 PM

Maybe it’s the translation but that seems like an unnecessarily complicated way of putting it. In my experience, when questions are overly complicated, it’s usually either because the person asking the question is insecure or because they’re covertly asking something else. So I would probably also claim not understanding the question.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/07/26 08:42 PM

I’m talking about the process of choosing a partner, not about established relationships. You should be selfish while dating. Empathy can be expressed by being honest about it and accepting that you’re not compatible with everyone. I would avoid strong claims that include all women or all men. If all members have a certain attribute, then there’s nothing they can do about it. But I highly doubt billions of women all have some deficiency of empathy. Overall, when a post is about women and my repl…
/r/PurplePillDebate03/07/26 08:38 PM

I haven’t really noticed this. Some guys want a relationship, some guys want sex. Some are honest, some are not. Attractiveness has nothing to do with it.

I’ve been practicing to become a better cook for a while now. It’s pretty humbling to start from the beginning, like how to prepare and cook different vegetables and how to make mother sauces well. Partly because of this, I have been trying to grow vegetables in ways that make them more tasty. The differences between onions and potatoes can be quite dramatic.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/07/26 09:43 AM

How lovely.

Why do you believe European countries hate their citizens?

Yeah, many of them. What do you like to watch?

I’m on vacation and my husband is not yet. A few nights ago I got this idea that I should confuse him by leaving post its on stuff he uses in the morning. I failed and succeeded at the same time, because he found them funny and he kept talking about them. So I wrote him a love poem for the next morning. That’ll teach him.

Aww, that’s kind. Men can be so sweet.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/06/26 05:17 PM

Well?
/r/PurplePillDebate30/06/26 05:04 PM

I’m not a man but this is a good question. In my experience, most men do that from the get go but I know women who have had different experiences.

I don’t believe most women have strong feelings about short men.

Why would age matter in this case?
/r/PurplePillDebate30/06/26 04:18 PM

Why do you need that information?
/r/PurplePillDebate30/06/26 03:20 PM

Interesting. Unless their face was absolutely horrible and they didn’t smile at all, face wouldn’t really matter to me. Height isn’t the most important thing either
/r/PurplePillDebate29/06/26 10:54 PM

Based only on looks? 4 and 1.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/06/26 10:48 PM

Nothing wrong with being weird imo. My own mother has always thought I was weird.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/06/26 10:39 PM

And who said that people who aren’t NEETs don’t have a financial supporter?
/r/PurplePillDebate29/06/26 08:29 PM

You would be surprised.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/06/26 03:06 PM

Sure, courts are famous for granting the primary custody to the father.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/06/26 02:58 PM

I’ve noticed how some people are weirdly eager to talk shit about their exes. Not one of them, but all or most of them. Sure, it could be a coincidence but most likely there are explanations outside of or in addition to bad luck.

Meanwhile, it’s finally getting warm where I live. Meaning something between 17 and 25 °C
/r/PurplePillDebate29/06/26 01:32 PM

I’ve found that most women don’t think about that at all in their daily lives. Most don’t even know what that means. People just want normal, healthy relationships in their lives.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/06/26 01:27 PM

Yes. A two year old does not need that to be happy, often quite the opposite.

I think it’s because a lot of men here are single and/or virgins and lot of the women are in ltr. Although I must say that I have never received as many dms from here than when I discussed about penis preferences once.

Ok. I don’t have that app and sometimes my device shows me something entirely different than what was linked. I think his voice is a bit too breathy to me but I guess it’s a matter of preference. He sounds a bit similar to that Jürgen Klopp translator.

I haven’t noticed a trend of women saying here how they think penises are disgusting. Or are you referring to the main sub? Penises are like every other organ: some are aesthetically pleasing and some aren’t.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/06/26 10:43 PM

It seems to vary from day to day a lot. I got a “be civil” warning for pointing out a fallacy. I wasn’t even part of that debate outside of that comment. I think I’ve said and read far worse stuff.

/r/PurplePillDebate28/06/26 05:04 PM

I have managed to decline a few wedding parties and such this summer and it has been torture. Even receiving an invitation ruins the rest of my day.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/06/26 05:03 PM

I’m not a beginner exactly so I’m not getting that benefit, unfortunately. I was just expecting to have to do more and optimise everything. Most women I know seem to have to.

1

I wish I had the backbone to do this
/r/PurplePillDebate28/06/26 04:50 PM

/r/PurplePillDebate28/06/26 01:24 PM

What do you mean by “your mainstream media”?
/r/PurplePillDebate28/06/26 01:18 PM

And I don’t remember what it was about
/r/PurplePillDebate27/06/26 11:16 PM

Oh, I see. He did that to me earlier. We should form an alliance.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/06/26 10:57 PM

It’s also quite weird. Why do those people even believe their opinion matters? Well sure, I was devastated when that 60 year old man called me slut after being denied the opportunity to buy sex from me.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/06/26 10:52 PM

I don’t believe there are any universal benefits. People are different and even legislation is different. For example, in Germany, married couples get tax benefits, but in most countries it isn’t as straightforward. Marriage is a legal contract, but outside that, meanings likely vary a lot from person to person.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/06/26 10:49 PM

Wow. It’s not a good movie but what about it makes you feel that strongly?
/r/PurplePillDebate27/06/26 10:45 PM

What does that have to do with anything?
/r/PurplePillDebate27/06/26 05:32 PM

Monogamy and true love are not interchangeable.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/06/26 04:38 PM

I haven’t really experienced a gender difference in this matter. Some women cling onto their motherhood identity and justify their venom with that.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/06/26 04:04 PM
4

Many women I know want someone who’s in the middle of that: a man who knows what he wants and goes after it. Not someone who is interested but doesn’t make a move or someone who approaches every other woman. It’s not a moral standing, many women just want to feel chosen and desired.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/06/26 03:45 PM
1

It’s a good rule of thumb to have, but often you don’t know when someone is about to snap.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/06/26 03:34 PM

Alright. What are you looking for in a boyfriend?
/r/PurplePillDebate27/06/26 03:32 PM

So everyone knows he’s a prick and for some reason those same people surprised when he acts like a prick?
/r/PurplePillDebate27/06/26 03:31 PM

I just watched clips on Youtube, perhaps they were older material.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/06/26 03:25 PM

I’ve never cared about being slut shamed. I’ve been slut shamed by older men when I was an inexperienced preteen and I’ve been slut shamed by young boys when I was already married, and everything in between. It has never had an effect in my life. And sluts are fine, nothing wrong with that.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/06/26 03:23 PM

That sounds quite sad tbh
/r/PurplePillDebate27/06/26 03:20 PM

Why not?
/r/PurplePillDebate27/06/26 03:18 PM

I watched it for a while but she’s annoying.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/06/26 03:16 PM

That’s unfortunate and weird. Insecurities rarely stem from one source. I don’t know what Tate has said about the ideal male physique but I do believe insecurities existed before him.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/06/26 10:46 PM
2

I don’t understand?
/r/PurplePillDebate26/06/26 09:56 PM
2

I think the best fat percentage varies from man to man, super low is rarely attractive or attainable long term.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/06/26 09:55 PM
2

Sure. I have absolutely no knowledge of him outside of those pictures you shared and to me, muscle mass seemed like the most noticeable difference.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/06/26 09:48 PM
2

I definitely know women who claim that they don’t like muscular men but even they often like them. I have a pan friend who kept telling me how she doesn’t care about muscle, but then she danced with an athletic, muscular guy at a dance event and changed her mind. I’ve also had conversations on this sub with men who told me that women care about height because it’s healthy and makes us feel protected, but muscle mass apparently doesn’t have that same impact.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/06/26 09:40 PM
3

So what? The point of complimenting someone is to give them good feedback on something they value. What you aim to accomplish with your compliments is another thing entirely.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/06/26 09:29 PM
3

For some reason, a lot of people on social media love to claim that women don’t care about muscle or muscular men.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/06/26 09:24 PM

Yes, I have a weather related fomo
/r/PurplePillDebate25/06/26 03:22 PM

It would be nice change. Perhaps swimming waters would get warm this year. They were a bit chilly last year
/r/PurplePillDebate25/06/26 03:20 PM

I actually like all kinds of weather. But it is kind of frustrating to see that my country seems to be among those few countries that don’t get a heatwave, for the second year in a row.

Why does he need to sit still or stay at home?
/r/PurplePillDebate25/06/26 12:20 PM

We bought a house ten years ago. When I want to stay somewhere else, I just go to live with some of my friends for a while. But I rarely have a need.

Sounds quite sad. But do they share bj tips?

I’ve seen incredible women staying single and awful women in relationships with decent men. I’m not sure it always makes sense.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/06/26 06:39 PM

I still have five weeks vacation left, I’ve decided to attend more classes and courses during that time. Today was first, but it was only an online workshop.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/06/26 08:49 PM

Most likely I have already been in a forest that had a bear in it.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/06/26 07:48 PM

I think that’s often how it goes in life. My best era was when I had a lot going on
/r/PurplePillDebate23/06/26 07:34 PM

I’ve been seeing lots of content on how it is common to insult or criticise your partner, especially during conflicts and arguments. Apparently there are people who think it is normal and acceptable and that it happens in every relationship. Why would anyone stay in a relationship like that voluntarily?
/r/PurplePillDebate23/06/26 05:56 PM

It’s more about when, where how and how much. People talk to each other all the time and it’s a neutral thing in itself.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/06/26 05:50 PM

Kind of sour, but also fresh. It compliments other food, like salmon soup, but can also stand on its own.

Yes. This advice almost seems like sabotage to me.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/06/26 11:06 AM

Sounds exhausting tbh.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/06/26 11:03 AM

I didn’t know anything about When Harry met Sally until few years ago, when I saw the title somewhere and decided to watch it, because the female lead looks a lot like my mother. And boy, is it a horrible movie. I didn’t even realise it was meant to be romantic.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/06/26 09:19 AM

Going through someone’s phone because you’re suspicious of them is not a great practice. But sure, she could ask. Reading someone’s messages without their permission, however, is also illegal.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/06/26 09:16 AM
4

It’s surprising how often women do this to each other as well.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/06/26 08:45 AM
1

My friend has started to get fits of jealousy and tells me that her boyfriend has become more distant (surprise surprise). She talked about this with her sisters and their advice was “you should spy his phone”. It’s baffling to me how there are people who actually think that’s a good advice.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/06/26 08:42 AM

Who one ends up with often has more to do with the person themselves than it has with the options that weren’t chosen.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/06/26 06:29 AM

Are they? I don’t know many people who are that interested about whether others have sex or not. I’m not saying it couldn’t happen, but it just reminds me of those cheap early 00 high school movies.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/06/26 11:29 PM

No one needs to. It’s just a nice bonus
/r/PurplePillDebate21/06/26 11:23 PM

It’s just an organ. Some penises are quite beautiful.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/06/26 11:09 PM

I wonder if that’s something humans have always said. That and complaining about younger generations.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/06/26 11:06 PM

Fascinating. I can’t imagine how that might feel. You probably have easy time finding shirts?
/r/PurplePillDebate21/06/26 11:05 PM

Probably yes. I think a lot of women are very sensitive about that and the way they’ve been raised to appeal to men. Can’t say much about the male experience, though.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/06/26 10:59 PM

Most atheists I know don’t care about Jesus or whether he existed or not. His influence is true regardless.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/06/26 10:56 PM

Strength training is also a good idea.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/06/26 10:55 PM

Cloud service recommended me an old photo of myself. I didn’t realise back then that I had a visible six pack. I genuinely thought I was barely non-fat.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/06/26 10:44 PM

Our world would probably look very different.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/06/26 10:41 PM

That is a problem, yes. But it would be problematic even if the numbers were bigger. To me, something like 9% sounds like a huge number. I have never found that many men attractive, because attraction has a lot to do with type and personal preference, not just what’s “objectively” beautiful.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/06/26 10:38 PM

How come? Perhaps I’ve always had a porn brain then.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/06/26 10:25 PM

If I remember correctly, I took my dad to a dinner. But November was a long time ago.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/06/26 10:22 PM

I’ve never felt more relieved to be bilingual.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/06/26 10:05 PM

I’ve never understood what’s wrong with not finding most people attractive. Most of the landscape and architecture in my area are not beautiful.

> These guys must have blurry pics, be 2/10, and have a bio that says "I hate women and will harm one that tries to date me." You would be surprised. Based on what I’ve seen while scrolling through my friend’s options, there’s no shortage of men who just write stuff like “I bet you wouldn’t date me either” or “I wonder if I’ll ever find a woman who’s real and not shallow”. Who in their right mind thinks that’s tempting?
/r/PurplePillDebate20/06/26 09:50 PM

I mean I would feel weird for the rest of my life if I watched a three minute sex tape of my friend.

Sounds like someone was envious tbh.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/06/26 08:49 PM

If my old nude pics get out there, I don’t mind. Obviously someone could edit them in a less than favourable way, but they could do that anyway nowadays.

Why? I know almost nothing about these things but my husband is a Scorpio lol

True 😄 I feel slightly better about this now

A few months ago my husband’s coworker saw a picture of me on my husband’s phone and asked “who’s that sexy bitch?”. I met him the first time at a party yesterday, it was slightly awkward.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/06/26 08:29 PM

Not completely . I believe that the character is a mix of one’s morals and innate temperament. We have power over something, but it requires self acceptance and honesty.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/06/26 01:04 PM

Some people give good advice, most don’t. I haven’t really noticed a gender divide there. Most people don’t have the kind of dating lives/history or relationships I could look up to, their advice is usually rubbish. And it should be expected. People are just so different, the same advice doesn’t work for everyone. For me, the best strategy has been to be honest and selfish. It doesn’t work for everybody.

I’ll never understand people who love to stand in front of others who want to leave the plane asap. If you’re not in a hurry, why won’t you just sit down and wait?

The thing I have been most ridiculed for has been sun protection (and I have been bullied for lots of things). Applying sunscreen, wearing a hat/ scarf/ other protective gear, avoiding midday sunlight, etc. I have been laughed off by my coworkers and friends, and my husband’s sister has gotten angry at me because of it, many times. Hats (unless it’s a 🧢, but I refuse to wear those) and scarves in particular seem to cause a lot of aggression for some reason.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/06/26 10:08 AM

Me neither, I was surprised by how important this stuff is to some people. I like to clean and I have many “trad-wifey” skills but it has nothing to do with men or pleasing them.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/06/26 08:21 PM

Interesting theory. Most of the “trad-wifey” skills I have, were taught by my grandmother, who is very much a feminist.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/06/26 08:15 PM

It has been a wild ride to see some of my friends date these absolute bums and later absolutely refuse to talk about them lol.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/06/26 08:03 PM

I’m not sure if that’s true, but I don’t know much about it. Assuming you’re right, why do you think that is?
/r/PurplePillDebate17/06/26 08:00 PM

It’s weird, cooking and cleaning aren’t gender specific skills because nutrition and hygiene aren’t gender specific needs.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/06/26 06:33 PM

I don’t understand how that’s even possible. I have been cooking most of my meals since I was eight years old.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/06/26 06:32 PM

I don’t know what your second sentence means but it is possible that the people who you have been talking with don’t value desirability as much as you do.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/06/26 06:23 PM

I don’t really follow the main sub but sure, there’s lots of dating related content. Sometimes it’s interesting, most of the time it’s pretty redundant. A post from small dick subreddit showed up on my feed and it got me interested because I didn’t know men had so many insecurities about their size. I ended up looking at someone’s profile there, and they had commented stuff here. I’m not sure why I got banned. I asked, was told that I had broken a rule that said something like “you need to know …
/r/PurplePillDebate17/06/26 06:21 PM

I saw a thread where someone asked “what are some things that women think attract men, but are actually unattractive?”. There was a guy who answered “cooking, cleaning and doing trad-wifey stuff”. Apparently he just wants to buy frozen pizzas and cuddle.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/06/26 06:14 PM

It is baffling. I don’t really see it in my daily life, but sometimes I end up reading some newspaper’s comment section and think to myself “reminds me of ppd”
/r/PurplePillDebate17/06/26 06:02 PM

Brutal 😭 I wasn’t expecting this from you
/r/PurplePillDebate17/06/26 06:00 PM

I don’t see this as a sub that has a dating focus. Even if it was, dating is still an interesting phenomenon. I didn’t go looking for gender issue subreddits, I just ended up here. I was in the main feminism subreddit, but was banned from there.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/06/26 05:58 PM

But that’s your opinion, not a fact. Perhaps those people value other things above looks.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/06/26 05:56 PM

Looks good. Great hair.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/06/26 05:42 PM

Well, many of them are clearly the same person.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/06/26 05:41 PM

What’s there to admit? It’s not something that always happens, but it is common.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/06/26 05:40 PM

My gender didn’t change when I got married. Genders didn’t stop existing when I got married.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/06/26 05:39 PM

8/10. Unless they meet my husband or were his friends before knowing me.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/06/26 03:32 PM

With all due respect, I doubt it. You wouldn’t be asking these questions if you were numb. And you shouldn’t be.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/06/26 01:48 PM

Then it becomes more about what you can handle. If you’re a person who gets attached easily and takes a lot of time to recover from a heartbreak, then it might not be worth it.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/06/26 01:36 PM
1

I have no idea what you’re saying
/r/PurplePillDebate17/06/26 01:31 PM

I’m going to enjoy my vacation. I’ll be doing a workout at home, then I’ll go swimming. If I still have energy, I want to visit a museum and write when I get home. It’s also my turn to cook.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/06/26 10:59 AM

Modern and postmodern world have their issues for sure. But each individual is also responsible for their own actions. If one is not willing to accept other people’s point of views, they aren’t making it any easier for themselves either.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/06/26 10:57 AM

I believe this sub has many users who just haven’t socialized that much. Some of them can’t see their behavior from the other person’s point of view, some of them are too focused on their own suffering to care.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/06/26 09:21 AM

I assumed it was meant for men who harass women. Some people need to be reminded that customer service workers are people too, for example.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/06/26 08:29 AM
3

Some people do that. Usually you can just drop them once you see how they treat other people, since it’s not that different from how they will treat you when you end up with an argument with them. I’ve never understood why people tolerate this behaviour and then act surprised when it bites them.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/06/26 08:25 AM

I used to work at a cemetery. Sometimes bones would resurface as we had to dig somewhere. We would just bury them again. I’m sure there was probably a couple bodies worth of bones. Does that count?

I loved to travel to school/work by train when it was still somewhat pleasant. It was very much its own world. I received work opportunities and gifts from other passengers, had great conversations and got things done for the next day. Working remotely is great but those trips had their benefits as well.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/06/26 05:59 PM

“I would advise against it” is not the same as policing anyone. If one sees it that way, then they probably weren’t making a good decision to begin with.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/06/26 01:42 PM

I was in a relationship with an older guy when I was younger than her. I had a great time and regret nothing, but the risks are too big imo to recommend that to anyone. I’ve seen too many women regret it. Especially if one can be convinced by online people, it’s probably not worth it to try.

/r/PurplePillDebate15/06/26 12:59 PM

Surprisingly many people expect the man to suddenly change. I’ve asked this question several times and the answer is always something like “I changed after becoming a mother, he should do the same when he became a father to our children”. It feels a bit naive. Just because every child deserves loving parents, doesn’t mean that it’s going to happen.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/06/26 12:57 PM
3

We weren’t willing because we didn’t see the point. It also seems a bit confusing. First you’re accusing us of wasting money and not focusing on our own defence. Then we start to invest and focus on our own defence and that’s not good either.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/06/26 12:53 PM
1

Yes. What I meant was that if they’re not compatible with someone and/or don’t feel that spark, why are they even counting them as options or wasting time on them.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/06/26 12:42 PM
1

I can kind of understand it, although I probably define compatibility a bit differently. What I don’t understand is what exactly are they holding out for?
/r/PurplePillDebate15/06/26 12:37 PM
1

So apparently people feel like they have a lot of true options when it comes to romantic relationships. I’ve often heard people saying how it’s difficult to choose or how they’re waiting for “something better” and it has always felt a bit strange to me. I’ve only met one man who had everything I was looking for. And I have only had strong romantic/sexual feelings for two men during my life. Also, what is “better”? There are so many attributes to focus on. Isn’t the “best” choice someone who’s mo…

A rather muscular hourglass. That’s how I’ve been described and I think it’s pretty accurate.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/06/26 08:14 PM

Same. But it isn’t very relevant where I live anyway. I do think most people would see that preference as a weird one here.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/06/26 11:38 AM
1

Every major movement will have internal disagreements. Sure, there are feminists who believe that a woman can never truly choose to be a housewife or submissive. There are also people who aren’t feminists who believe that. Also, the whole submissive housewives talk point is not as relevant everywhere as it is in the USA for example. Feminism can look very different in different places, although that’s a fact that seems to cause rage in this sub for some reason.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/06/26 11:34 AM

I have already answered several times now and my answers have been twisted into something else so many times that I don’t think this is worth it anymore.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/06/26 12:57 AM

Why?
/r/PurplePillDebate14/06/26 12:25 AM

Aggressive? Why would poor impulse control be masculine?

This is hot and masculine, that other example just looks like something else.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/06/26 12:21 AM

I don’t really see how those things are mutually exclusive. I am a feminist who wants women to be whatever they choose to be, and most feminists I know are like that.

You’re closing in. Gays are often pioneers.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/06/26 07:48 PM

That’s interesting. It would be lovely to have such an overwhelmingly positive experience with women. Good enough to say “most women tend to be kind and empathetic”. But yeah, I wouldn’t scroll bumble subreddit in the hopes of finding some truth about how all women think. Women on reddit often seem to have an oddly complicated view on dating.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/06/26 07:38 PM
3

Isn’t that a good thing? You don’t have to waste more time on someone who’s incompatible. And idk, aren’t gay men often pretty picky?

Oh, I see. Why would they even get that impression of him?

I’ve been losing fat without trying. Weird.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/06/26 02:58 PM

Most people do need more than one date to figure that out, not all people. Those men don’t want someone who takes a lot of time to decide. It’s silly and definitely makes dating harder for them but it’s just as valid as anything and doesn’t require everyone to have a higher n count. They want to feel special, they want to be the chosen one. Is it sustainable to focus on such matters? Probably not.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/06/26 02:00 PM

So she has lots of things in her life she’s not satisfied with. It’s an easy fix. Either change those things or practice gratitude, or both. A job that doesn’t suit you and a relationship filled with conflict will make most people feel somewhat sad and lonely, it’s not that devastating.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/06/26 01:53 PM

If you’re willing to go with fat women, you’re obviously somewhat attracted to them. So what’s the problem?
/r/PurplePillDebate13/06/26 11:59 AM

I think that in a progressive country, people just care less about people (not all of them are men) who shame women for having casual sex. They are usually just perceived as weirdos, especially by people who have lots of sex. Slightly off topic, but this statement got me permanently banned from feminist subreddit 😆
/r/PurplePillDebate11/06/26 01:58 PM

How come? Do you think your aesthetics would be more advantageous here?
/r/PurplePillDebate11/06/26 01:54 PM

I assume it’s partly due to our culture and partly because we have a wide social security net. Honestly I didn’t even realise how uncommon our attitude towards casual sex was until a couple years ago.

What happens if you just keep doing that?
/r/PurplePillDebate11/06/26 11:14 AM

About 70% of relationship conflicts are perpetual and unresolvable, meaning there is no right or wrong. It’s important to be heard and listen to the other person’s reasoning, but there will be no absolute answer to that disagreement, at least not in the short run. A relationship where most disagreements are right/wrong kind of conflicts would either be an exception to this rule or a sign of one or both parties not actually listening.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/06/26 08:42 PM
1

Why?
/r/PurplePillDebate07/06/26 08:31 PM

One of the best and most unexpected sides of a relationship for me has been having someone trustworthy who’ll always pick me up from anywhere. I never had that before. I still remember the relief I felt when my friend and I had a fight at a party and my husband/then bf came to get me without asking, ready to defend me. We had been dating for a month at that point.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/06/26 08:28 PM

A relationship where the couple is constantly having disagreements where only one party is in the right sounds exhausting.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/06/26 08:19 PM

People care about different things, it’s not that hard to understand. Sexuality is an incredibly complex combination of attributes and emotions.

Yeah, difficult to say. I am neurodivergent and dating was one of the easiest things I’ve ever done. But then again, it was a long time ago and most of the things I have done, haven’t been easy at all.

My friend’s boyfriend confuses me. My friend and him are disappointed in the way other people have treated him at social gatherings and such. At first, I was quite empathetic and tried to invite them to do things, but his behavior has been quite odd. It has made me truly realise what is meant by “bad socialiser”. He isn’t always downright rude, but something is always a bit off and trying to have conversations with him is a whole lot of work. It’s so boring when someone says “no” to everything. …

Abortion is controversial, talking about abortion is controversial, talking about children and raising children is controversial. It would have been a bigger surprise if there hadn’t been any controversy about this particular abortion case. Overall, people have many contradictory views about everything, especially about things like abortion. Some people say abortion is wrong because all lives are sacred, but they aren’t vegans. Some people say abortion is wrong because the child is innocent, but…

I’m not sure what you’re debating here? This post contains no actual arguments. Just telling people what they should and shouldn’t do. But people can do whatever they want. As a Western European I have seen lots of different situations here. The freedom to choose is more important than getting everyone to do what you want them to do.

My country doesn’t have free healthcare, but it’s cheap. I have never had to wait for a standard appointment for over a week. Some tests and procedures have longer queues. And a big part of the population has private healthcare through their employer anyway, so they don’t have to wait as long.

The point of permanent friends and dating is that you meet permanent friends of your permanent friends and start dating them. At least that’s how I’ve understood the advice. It doesn’t usually mean “start dating your closest friend”. You have been really fortunate and it’s perfectly possible to find a gf without the friend group route.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/06/26 09:55 PM

I didn’t know that. Her body type looks a bit different, compared to what was generally considered beautiful back then.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/06/26 06:32 PM

Was she? I don’t know why I just can’t see it.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/06/26 06:32 PM

Yeah I don’t know what to make of those pictures, they look so different from one another. I think her jawline and body type are similar to mine.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/06/26 06:31 PM

I think it’s more relevant advice in your late teens and early twenties, when you have lots of temporary friends. Also, friend means different things to different people. Some count acquaintances as friends. I have several friends, but not all of them are present in my life all the time. Some are people who I don’t even talk to every year.

I’ve been in a situation similar to what you described. Luckily I wasn’t kissed, but groped and strangled. I wasn’t believed at the club either, but who cares at that point? That being said, you don’t need to defend the way you reacted. It’s not entirely your choice in that situation. Your body often reacts before you can decide. I know my default reaction because it has been tested a lot, and it can change over time. Rational thinking does indeed go out the window.

I don’t care about the analogy that much, I’m not attached to it. I just used it because he did. To be honest I have had to socialise so much without my consent that I don’t really see it as that voluntary, but I do understand where you’re coming from. My point is that those social circles don’t usually just happen, it’s something you build, more or less based on the skills and connections you already have.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/05/26 07:10 PM
1

You don’t usually just jump from having never been in a pool before to swimming a triathlon, that was the point.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/05/26 06:58 PM
2

Yes. That’s why you have an “advantage” as a child, when you’re basically forced into socialising with other children in kindergarten/school/hobbies/yard. And someone is often guiding you, or there’s some shared goal/activities. That’s what humans naturally do, after around four years of age - they start socialising outside their family unit more.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/05/26 06:52 PM
1

Oh. Shouldn’t this be in some other thread then? Or are solely looks related comments allowed now?
/r/PurplePillDebate26/05/26 06:47 PM

You want a woman with big assets as well?
/r/PurplePillDebate26/05/26 06:44 PM

Yeah, being neurodivergent requires a lot from a child.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/05/26 06:38 PM
1

Socialising doesn’t usually take away other goals and opportunities. Especially when you’re young.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/05/26 06:37 PM
1

That’s refreshing to hear. So many men here claim that they don’t care about women’s financial background. But they are indeed difficult to find, especially when you’re young. People with generational wealth tend to spend time with other similar people.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/05/26 06:33 PM
2

Aren’t childhood and youth just for that? You learn how to swim by practicing, not by immediately participating in a triathlon.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/05/26 06:30 PM
1

People claim that it’s cute but I honestly don’t know many things as awkward as having a random kid stare at you when you’re in a shower or getting dressed. Public swimming pools are nice but they definitely have downsides.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/05/26 10:05 PM

My boobs should have their own feedback system and q&a. I’ve heard some many different opinions about them that I’ve stopped caring.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/05/26 09:55 PM
3

Why should they put in all of this effort, sacrificing what they actually want to do most of the time, just for the chance to experience casual sex and relationships like the naturally desirable men did without becoming a different person? This is not what most women want. Who wants a partner who has a mindset like this?
/r/PurplePillDebate25/05/26 09:51 PM

I don’t think there’s any sure way to tell that for certain. Only time will truly tell. Some people reading skills often help.

I’m not the one asking questions here so it isn’t about what I understand or don’t understand. Many people find it unnecessary and inconsiderate when you tell them you wouldn’t date them. Most people don’t know what you think unless you tell them or show it through your actions. What you do with this information or how you view it is up to you, but that’s generally how it works.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/05/26 01:22 PM
1

Why every time girls get offended when I say I wouldn't want to date them?
/r/PurplePillDebate25/05/26 01:13 PM
2

It do be like that sometimes. Many things in our time are designed to make us hate our bodies, even though they do so much for us. What are you doing during those few months?
/r/PurplePillDebate25/05/26 12:00 PM
2

The problem with that is that the bar keeps getting higher, not just due to inflation and such. The middle class person tends to over consume, at least in Western countries. An institution in my country released guideline incomes for a decent life for different types of households recently and I was surprised to find out that most people seemed to think it’s unreasonable to not eat at a restaurant every month.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/05/26 11:45 AM

Agreed. Usually people don’t just start talking like that after a break up. They were likely talking about other people like that in the relationship.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/05/26 11:39 AM

How do you define “comfortable life”?
/r/PurplePillDebate25/05/26 11:38 AM

Depends on where you live (and how old you are in some countries).

It would probably change my view on them both, and not for the better.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/05/26 08:45 AM

Yeah I was honestly surprised by how short the Southern European men are on our vacation in that region. I was taller than many men and I could find my husband quite easily almost anywhere.

/r/PurplePillDebate23/05/26 06:11 PM

Sounds like it’s more about the fact that you feel the need to say that. They don’t resent you for having standards, preferences or thoughts. They just think it’s rude and inconsiderate to not keep them to yourself.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/05/26 06:09 PM

What’s that?

I’ve never heard about true Adam before this but that type does seem more appealing. In many pictures, his expression is more gentle.

Preferences and wanting something is one thing, what you do with that information is another.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/05/26 03:21 PM

Men seem to be more focused on the Chad type.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/05/26 03:16 PM

Well he was quite articulate and Finnish so there are some similarities.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/05/26 03:13 PM

Often people here make a point about how one can’t empathise with someone because they haven’t experienced the exact same thing. That guy has experienced hair loss and could most likely understand how it might feel to be perceived differently because of that. Still, he chose to date her for a while (and seeing/touching her hair several times) and let her go on to believe that the relationship was going somewhere, and then dump her in a hurtful way. To me that’s relevant, but I can’t help it if y…
/r/PurplePillDebate23/05/26 03:10 PM

I guess you can get rewarded for all sorts of things, like brushing your teeth and washing your hands. But I wouldn’t want that power dynamic in my home and relationship.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/05/26 03:01 PM

Looks a bit too much like my ex, minus the dark circles under the eyes. It was fun while it lasted but I wouldn’t need to do that again.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/05/26 02:58 PM

People don’t usually get rewards for doing chores, unless they’re children.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/05/26 02:51 PM

It is weird. Feels weirdly juvenile.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/05/26 02:50 PM

I guess none of it is relevant. Is it relevant that she is my friend or that he had asked her to move in with him? Why do you focus on the mention of him being bald?
/r/PurplePillDebate23/05/26 02:47 PM

In practice "we just physically don't have enough time" is almost never the reason behind why a guy that wants to get laid isn't getting laid. No one said this, or at least I didn’t.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/05/26 02:44 PM

It isn’t that direct. If both do their share and get enough time for themselves, they are more likely to want to have sex.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/05/26 02:23 PM

My friend was dumped because her hair wasn’t thick enough. The guy was bald and had asked her to move in with him just two days prior.

What kind of questions?
/r/PurplePillDebate23/05/26 12:10 PM

What? What does that have to do with this?
/r/PurplePillDebate23/05/26 12:09 PM

I just read a story of some guy that pulled the plow for his wife for 10 years and realized she didn't even like him in the end. Well that’s sad. And weird.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/05/26 12:06 PM

It’s not completely made up. It’s just that winners write history, and those who like the chase are more likely to talk about it than those who don’t.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/05/26 11:41 AM

He might have no idea that i even care about some things. This. What I don’t understand is knowing stuff about yourself and your dealbreakers, and then just keeping it to yourself and even going further into dating phases/relationship without making sure.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/05/26 11:36 AM
3

I'd be trying to find out because I don't want to waste my time on someone I'm incompatible with. So yes?
/r/PurplePillDebate23/05/26 11:34 AM
2

You don’t have to? What?
/r/PurplePillDebate23/05/26 11:28 AM

Q4a: if you have some non-negotiable thing for a partner, do you think it’s your responsibility to ask and communicate about it, preferably in early stages? Let’s say you want your partner to have a certain diet or sexual history, for example.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/05/26 11:24 AM
3

If eating vegan food alone is enough to make someone incompatible, sure. But that wasn’t the point. You don’t know the reason behind for certain it unless they tell you that.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/05/26 11:21 AM
1

I know what you wrote, I can read. It just doesn’t make sense to act so hastily if you’re otherwise interested in a person.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/05/26 11:19 AM
3

Isn’t that something you can discuss with the other person to find out? People seem so eager to just immediately block someone nowadays.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/05/26 11:01 AM
2

Yes! I’ve asked men about this and most of them have been at least kind of hesitant about the idea of a vegan partner. Just last week, one of my vegan friends told me she will try to date only vegan men from now on, because she has had so many bad experiences with non vegan men.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/05/26 10:36 AM
2

I’ve noticed that being a vegetarian or vegan is something many men just can’t tolerate in their partner. My friend was a vegan for nine years and stopped being a vegan after finding a man who just kept cooking meat for her.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/05/26 10:32 AM
1

Yes. Those are basic skills everyone should learn
/r/PurplePillDebate23/05/26 07:49 AM

I don’t actually know. There was nothing obvious “wrong” with me, I wasn’t overweight and did have friends, for example.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/05/26 10:19 PM

Sounds like a lot of work indeed. Why do you do it?
/r/PurplePillDebate22/05/26 09:20 PM

Definitely. Although I’ve found that surprisingly many people feel negatively about someone who knows what they want. But I believe that if you know something inherent about yourself, you should take it into consideration for your own sake, and for the benefit of others, too.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/05/26 09:18 PM

I see. I think there might be some cultural differences there
/r/PurplePillDebate22/05/26 08:49 PM

Did it make you feel good about yourself to hear that?
/r/PurplePillDebate22/05/26 08:49 PM

Yes and no. I didn’t do that work on self-improvement for romantic success, because I thought it was a lost cause and I was at peace with that. But a lot of work was done.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/05/26 08:43 PM

Men don’t like it when women cook nowadays? I do know how to cook though.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/05/26 08:41 PM

What do you mean?
/r/PurplePillDebate22/05/26 08:33 PM

When I was younger, older women kept telling me that no man would take me. It didn’t really feel like anything, I just thought that I might as well have whatever requirements and standards I wanted because the odds seemed to be so low anyway.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/05/26 08:28 PM

Opeth, Wintersun, Insomnium. I also often listen to Sungazer’s albums from start to finish when they are released, but it’s not metal, but electrojazz.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/05/26 07:11 PM

It happens quite rarely since most of my favorite artists are either dead or dying. But when an album is released, I listen to it from start to finish. Most of my favorites who are still alive make melodic death/progressive metal and their albums are often concept albums.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/05/26 06:46 PM

Depends on the individual, to some degree. And where you are in life.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/05/26 05:53 PM

I blocked someone (not now, but back in the day) who was always calling people stupid and it got tiresome to see that constantly on threads.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/05/26 05:48 PM

Well, yes. People don’t like to be treated like second class.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/05/26 05:45 PM

Meh. Not when it comes to important relationships. People could probably stand to be more open to each other overall, but it’s perfectly fine to have high expectations for close friends and romantic partners.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/05/26 11:31 PM

What baggage?
/r/PurplePillDebate21/05/26 11:26 PM

I honestly think virginity is taken a little too seriously here.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/05/26 11:25 PM

I wouldn’t care. Depending on his reasons for that
/r/PurplePillDebate21/05/26 11:07 PM

Is she an amazing partner if he has been suspicious this whole time?
/r/PurplePillDebate21/05/26 11:05 PM
2

My mother’s friend is a size queen. She asks video proof.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/05/26 09:21 PM

How do you know that those people feel humiliated or embarrassed?
/r/PurplePillDebate20/05/26 05:34 PM

I didn’t know that existed. I got banned after no strikes before so I don’t think it’s accurate.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/05/26 05:31 PM

Probably, to some degree. Why do you think those people lack those experiences? What do you mean by “biology”? My friend was threatened by a 50-year old person, and to my experience, those threats usually come from 40-70 year olds. So not someone who should lack life experience.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/05/26 05:19 PM

Sure, better. But when I didn’t have those, I still wasn’t online threatening anyone. There are plenty of people who lack basically all support networks and aren’t threatening people. I do understand where you’re going with this but it’s still confusing to me how some people get angry so easily.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/05/26 05:12 PM

I have no such things. Nothing in life is guaranteed. Everything can be taken away without any warning.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/05/26 04:53 PM

I just can’t imagine myself being that frustrated.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/05/26 04:32 PM

It just doesn’t really explain it to me in a tangible way. All people are hurt people, yet not all react that way.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/05/26 04:32 PM

Idk, those are the explanations I usually get but it’s still odd.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/05/26 04:31 PM

Why?
/r/PurplePillDebate20/05/26 03:30 PM

I’m always so surprised by how little it takes for some people to get angry enough to send threats. I’ve been told it’s because “people express themselves more freely online” or “things get heated up on social media”, but it doesn’t really explain anything to me. I’ve never had that kind of extreme feelings towards anyone, let alone due to disagreeing over recycling or indoor plants.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/05/26 03:21 PM

I don’t know what you’re talking about, but it doesn’t seem to have much to do with what I’m talking about.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/05/26 03:16 PM

These arguments are too extreme. I’m sure there are plenty of people in the world who have said all kinds of things. Not everything can be generalised, though.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/05/26 01:00 PM

I suppose there’s a huge individual factor in this. Sexuality is a diverse spectrum, some people are probably more adaptable than others. And some aspects of attraction are more adaptable than others.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/05/26 12:28 PM
1

The category in the original comment was women, not American women. And I do suspect that American women are still quite a diverse group. But it would be interesting if I was wrong. I would then much like to know what makes American women so focused on penises.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/05/26 12:25 PM

Women don’t care about penises as much as you might think. No, it isn’t meaningless and no, it isn’t very important in most cases.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/05/26 12:23 PM
7

I think many people here overestimate how much other people are thinking about them in any way. I remember saying that once, and I was told that I am a cold person. But I find that things like rejection mean far less when you realise how little you matter as an individual to a random group of people.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/05/26 12:17 PM

Most people understand that past matters to some degree. Most people aren’t reminiscing their past relationships or their ex’s genitalia while they are in a new relationship . Most people are faulty, yes. In various ways.

Waking up to what?
/r/PurplePillDebate19/05/26 07:44 AM

/r/PurplePillDebate18/05/26 09:15 PM

Oh, you have a lot going on! Sounds like you deserved that recognition
/r/PurplePillDebate18/05/26 09:12 PM

Why is it pretty much all you got going?
/r/PurplePillDebate18/05/26 09:10 PM
2

Absolutely. I found my husband attractive the moment I noticed him, and I still do. And it is important, I have never considered myself a martyr who would be willing to suffer a potentially lifetime sentence with someone I didn’t find attractive in the first place. I would just stay single. And since I am not poly, I only need one man. There’s no need for me to browse through my local grocery store or sidewalks.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/05/26 06:09 PM

Sounds lovely 🥰 what do you volunteer for? I still haven’t found a form of volunteering for me, unfortunately. But I pick up trash every day and do some invasive plant removal during summers.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/05/26 02:25 PM

What about it makes it a scam?
/r/PurplePillDebate18/05/26 02:11 PM

I wish more people did. I’ve been reading a lot about what truly increases wellbeing and the message has been quite clear.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/05/26 01:13 PM

You’re listing lots of exercises that aren’t squats or deadlifts. What other exercises suit you best is mostly up to you and there are plenty of options.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/05/26 01:08 PM

Tricep extensions, seated cable rows and kickbacks for example.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/05/26 12:55 PM

Those are indeed some great compound movements for basically everyone. But I also found some specific exercises benefit me greatly, for example many cable exercises support swimming quite well.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/05/26 12:49 PM

Helping others makes you happier. It usually also increases your health and productivity.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/05/26 11:55 AM

Nothing special, mostly avoidable. I worked in catering and retail for years when I was studying and never had any issues either. Most of those who did, never worked out and were often qu…

Daily and monthly, not just monthly. Which is why you can’t really make claims like “once a week is optimal in any relationship”. There are simply too many individual factors and those two “cycles” affect each other.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/05/26 10:32 PM

No, you didn’t. When I told you that I can just say no, you made fun of me. Later you’ve been implying that this is dangerous for me because I’m being “rude”.

Everything? Aren’t we talking about very basic stuff? If you have to be subtle about those things, what can you talk about?
/r/PurplePillDebate14/05/26 07:41 PM

The whole premise of this was about not wanting to interact at all.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/05/26 07:38 PM

What does he want to truly accomplish? A relationship starting with manipulation or some respect?
/r/PurplePillDebate14/05/26 07:32 PM

Let me guess: a real adult would go out their way to protect some random guy’s ego?
/r/PurplePillDebate14/05/26 07:29 PM

If you have to demonstrate your value like that, it’s already over. Move on. Respecting basic boundaries is the bare minimum and if they can’t do it even at the dating stage, it’s most often not worth it.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/05/26 07:22 PM

I can just say no. When I was younger, I gave them my father’s number.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/05/26 07:20 PM

You can’t really demand someone’s respect in that context. You’re not respecting yourself if you start “negotiating” with someone who doesn’t respect your time and effort. Just let them go.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/05/26 07:18 PM

Why?
/r/PurplePillDebate14/05/26 07:15 PM

Sometimes I wonder where you all live, if this is your view on the average middle aged person.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/05/26 06:47 PM
1

What is there to debate here? Some women want that and as long as they are open about it, it’s perfectly fine.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/05/26 06:41 PM

It’s not a controversial take, that’s just your opinion. The true meaning of marriage is somewhat personal and subjective. In many cases, marriages are quite easy to maintain but only if small things are done regularly and by both parties.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/05/26 06:37 PM

Whenever someone is upset about not getting a random person’s number, I am convinced that random person made the right choice.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/05/26 06:33 PM

Sounds good. I don’t know if it’s cool and based though. But that’s just me, I hate all customer service related.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/05/26 06:31 PM

Making something legal and protecting the workers don’t always go hand in hand, unfortunately. Prostitution is legal in my country, yet there are too many issues. I still mostly agree with you. I’m not sure about weed, tbh I don’t know enough about it. But I don’t really see it as a similar issue because sex is sex, weed is a drug/intoxicant.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/05/26 06:29 PM

Quite balanced take on this. I don’t have a strong opinion on whether it does more harm/good. Perhaps a well regulated sex work good be that, but we haven’t really seen it in a large scale.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/05/26 06:26 PM

Who are they? All the conversations I’ve had about this irl have been focused on the wellbeing of the sex worker, not on the (average) customer.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/05/26 06:24 PM

Why? And do you think caregivers are products?
/r/PurplePillDebate14/05/26 10:18 AM
1

Depends on the circumstances. We would definitely seek some sort of counseling and I would decide after that. I don’t think we could have a monogamous relationship after that.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/05/26 10:04 AM

Q4a: What’s your opinion on legal sex work? I’ve seen surprisingly many people here who are against it.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/05/26 09:56 AM
1

I haven’t got the foggiest, you just felt the need to be condescending and “correct” me for no apparent reason probably. The point is that you can’t make simplified explanations like “men don’t understand because they work on a 24 hour cycle whereas women work on 28 days”.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/05/26 09:47 AM
3

You’re probably referring to the four phases of a monthly cycle.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/05/26 09:32 AM

I would just stay single, that’s too much effort.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/05/26 09:30 AM
3

Once a week? Hell no. And women have two cycles.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/05/26 09:29 AM

It’s my grandmother’s favorite book so I read it, even though it wasn’t quite what I was expecting. It’s interesting to hear how you enjoyed Alyosha’s character and the religious aspects, my friend enjoyed those as well, but I found them torture to read. It seems to be one of the typical character archetypes of Dostoyevsky.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/05/26 07:29 AM

Why?
/r/PurplePillDebate14/05/26 06:46 AM

That too.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/05/26 06:44 AM

I wish. I already feel uncomfortable enough about going there.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/05/26 09:52 PM

It’s clearly spring because I was approached twice today. One was at the gym, that always sucks.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/05/26 09:01 PM
1

One. Well, I believe that’s what it was. He felt like a friend and we had sex, but it started to turn into something else after a while.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/05/26 06:05 PM

Same. Luckily, most of them are gone (and some have returned under different usernames).
/r/PurplePillDebate13/05/26 05:57 PM

I started a commonplace book on Saturday and it’s going rather well
/r/PurplePillDebate13/05/26 05:55 PM
2

She doesn’t sound mature enough to have children, so it’s probably for the best.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/05/26 07:12 AM
3

I don’t know about why it happens on subreddits, so I won’t answer directly to the post. But in other feminist spaces, it’s because 1. There’s usually a rule against tone policing and some people take it very seriously, and b. Because there’s often an underlying assumption that a person who says that is traumatized and should therefore be allowed to speak freely.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/05/26 07:52 PM

“Idiot 25”… that’s an adult who has had time to date for like ten years or so.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/05/26 07:43 PM

Maybe not abuse, but that doesn’t sound like a healthy relationship
/r/PurplePillDebate12/05/26 07:42 PM

I’ve never been drunk
/r/PurplePillDebate12/05/26 07:39 PM

Why do you find them irritating and insufferable?
/r/PurplePillDebate12/05/26 07:38 PM

Several subs are still great, like dataisbeautiful and mapp*rn
/r/PurplePillDebate12/05/26 07:37 PM

I guess if someone wants to see themselves as a victim of their life, no one can stop them.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/05/26 12:19 PM

I don’t get being in a relationship like that at all.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/05/26 11:58 AM

Debating respectfully and not debating at all are both good options.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/05/26 11:46 AM

Why are you disappointed with someone else’s life?
/r/PurplePillDebate12/05/26 11:44 AM

Instagram has been kind enough to recommend me my old hometown bullies. One of them look strangely familiar, but not quite. I scrolled his profile and saw that he had posted a childhood picture of him and his brother. I realized that they were the two brothers who had attacked me at our local swimming pool when we were kids. I never knew their names until now.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/05/26 09:46 PM
5

Do you discuss dating and gender stuff outside this sub? I rarely do that, and when I that happens, it’s usually a completely different experience than here.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/05/26 06:06 PM
2

How come? “Risk” is an interesting concept, but only when it’s discussed from multiple perspectives.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/05/26 06:04 PM
1

How come? Imo, high libido itself doesn’t mean much.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/05/26 05:54 PM
1

I’ve been called wife material several times by different men and it usually breaks my heart.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/05/26 05:52 PM
2

There are too many variables. That doesn’t mean that you can’t understand. One doesn’t have to fully agree or have lived the same exact way to understand something. I date the same gender as most of my friends, but that doesn’t mean that our experiences are even remotely similar. I can still understand them well enough.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/05/26 05:50 PM
1

Agreed. I’ve never seen as much talk about virginity and “what if x happens” scenarios as I have seen here. I realize that the theme of this sub is a part of that puzzle, but still. That being said, my history is also somewhat conservative. Mostly due to not meeting that many interesting men, not because of conservative values.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/05/26 05:46 PM
3

Isn’t that quite common for human beings? No one can and will assess all risks equally, we all have our biases. Some risks seem more worth the investment and that’s always somewhat subjective, especially when it comes to relationships.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/05/26 05:42 PM
3

I want to start writing again and study more languages.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/05/26 09:24 PM

I tried to do that for two months but it felt more like a burden. I think people in my culture are often quite bad at receiving compliments. Complimenting people is great but strangers are probably not a good target audience for me.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/05/26 09:23 PM

Why?
/r/PurplePillDebate06/05/26 09:19 PM

I’ve never actually discussed this with my husband. It hasn’t been relevant. He has had close female friends and I have been friends with my ex. I don’t think it’s more important to know your partner and take care of your relationship than it is to worry about other people. I know what would hurt him and he knows what would hurt me.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/05/26 06:06 PM

From what I’ve gathered, it’s more about mood, safety and logistics than it is about pure attraction.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/05/26 06:00 PM

Tbh I don’t believe people act this way just once, or just in one type of relationship. It’s perfectly possible that he never realises the hurt he caused to you specifically, but the impact of his choices will likely cost him something. It’s not exactly karma, but people who lack consideration and respect rarely live as happily as they could.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/05/26 05:58 PM

Yes. Unless your values are super rare and weird, it most likely won’t take long. You probably already have a social circle of people who share some common values with you, then you meet people through them
/r/PurplePillDebate06/05/26 02:28 PM

Eh, my niece-in-law has been drinking coffee since she was five years old.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/05/26 02:26 PM

Sorry to hear that ❤️ I had a similar experience when I was 17 and got away from it when I threatened to tell my dad what he was trying to do. He seemed shocked, I’m still not sure if he fully realized how unwanted his actions were.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/05/26 02:25 PM

What would you do if someone doesn’t pass?
/r/PurplePillDebate06/05/26 02:22 PM
2

Put into what? The carrots I grew or the fish I bought?
/r/PurplePillDebate05/05/26 09:40 PM
2

I guess that might be an important factor for some people, particularly if one is more socially motivated. But I think for many people, the thing about comparison is to be sure that you made the best choice for you. If you’re sure you made the right choice and picked the right man, this need to compare your relationship to other people’s relationships is quite small.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/05/26 09:36 PM
1

It’s definitely a problem. Women are capable of doing things, both good and bad.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/05/26 09:33 PM
1

Ask your local librarian, they are good at finding stuff for you.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/05/26 12:57 PM
3

If you’re still thinking about the last one, you might not be ready to move forward yet.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/05/26 11:49 AM
2

Does he? What status? Sounds like my nightmare. At 50, one would hopefully be free to make other financial choices.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/05/26 09:26 PM
5

That’s sad. Why marry a man if you’re not riding him?
/r/PurplePillDebate04/05/26 08:04 PM
1

Yeah sounds like that could be potential drama. Do you think you would want something more to happen if she was initiating it? Are you still in that long distance relationship btw? The last time I tried to flirt with someone was a catastrophe, again. It’s a shame because I find it refreshing.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/05/26 06:53 PM
1

My first kiss was when I was seven years old. First relationship 14-15, about 18 months. First (casual) sex experience at 16. I’ve had three relationships, two partners. Longest streak was about 14 months. They’re not unimportant but not the most important things for me either. Sex is definitely amazing but I don’t believe that I would be unhappy without it. Most of my best life experiences have been outside sex and dating l
/r/PurplePillDebate04/05/26 06:47 PM
3

Sounds like they might also view you as a safe person to flirt with. I never flirt anymore because there has been too many incidents. My husband can flirt all day and receive compliments on being such a supportive colleague.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/05/26 06:36 PM

I believe monogamy/non-monogamy is a spectrum, like most qualities in humans. Very few people are completely extroverted or feel no temptation to eat sweets, for example. It’s natural to be extroverted and it’s natural to have a sweet tooth, and it’s also natural to be the opposite of that.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/05/26 10:39 AM

Good skin, thick hair (preferably dirty blonde or light brown). Symmetrical facial features, prominent cheekbones. Smiles a lot. Broad shoulders, strong, athletic muscular build, good posture. Wears adult clothes that fit him well. Not too many synthetic fibres. Caring, educated (preferably an engineer), reads and studies on his free time. Knows how to do stuff with his hands. Plays an instrument or two. Physically active, isn’t into cars and doesn’t watch sports. Feminist and leftist.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/05/26 07:50 PM
7

Strength training is about consistency. That’s a quality I like about people. Dressing well takes some effort and attention to detail, and those are also great qualities. If going to a gym was just a simple repetitive task, more people would do it and populations would likely be far healthier.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/05/26 07:42 PM
1

Perhaps. I have had a lot of sex with my husband. If I had to date again, I wouldn’t want a man who finds that a negative thing.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/05/26 06:19 PM
1

I would love to, but I just can’t justify that to myself. I wash them every two weeks.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/05/26 08:36 PM
2

Yes, the world would be worse without you.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/05/26 08:29 PM

How you feel is up to you. Very few people care about how you feel, they care about how you react and how you treat others.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/05/26 06:02 PM

I always vote. I used to do campaign materials for at least four different parties as well.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/05/26 05:58 PM

Men are mostly lovely creatures.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/05/26 05:56 PM
1

Weird comment but okay.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/05/26 01:17 PM

It is absolutely the driver’s fault if they can’t see where they’re going. They are either in a wrong car or they haven’t done the necessary adjustments. That’s one of the first things they teach you in driving school.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/05/26 12:04 PM
2

I’m confused. What about this situation is not the truck driver’s fault? That’s an easy accident to avoid for a competent driver.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/05/26 11:53 AM

I’ve tried them all and preferred either a tent or a van. But it depends on what you want to do. Do you actually want to move a lot, and will you drive long distances?
/r/PurplePillDebate02/05/26 10:29 AM

Lika barn leka bäst. People date within their league, their income bracket, their level of education, etc.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/05/26 10:27 AM

Exactly. I really don’t get the hate for single mothers. It’s perfectly understandable why one would not want to date them, I wouldn’t want to date a single parent either. But you can just… not date them and be done with it.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/05/26 10:23 AM
1

Write more (not going so well). Take a road trip (not sure if it will happen).
/r/PurplePillDebate01/05/26 10:18 PM

Sounds like a very unprofessional dentist, I would be worried. Sounds like he doesn’t follow GDPR.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/05/26 10:16 PM

Yes, and I hate new cars because their high beams are often too bright and badly positioned.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/05/26 10:14 PM

Why?
/r/PurplePillDebate01/05/26 10:13 PM
1

What was different with those men who didn’t make you feel that way?
/r/PurplePillDebate01/05/26 07:25 PM

Meh, alcohol is superior when it comes to baking and cooking.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/05/26 07:21 PM
1

Those are some bad partners then, if they didn’t make you feel that they find you desirable.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/05/26 07:14 PM

How long does it usually take for you to know you love someone?
/r/PurplePillDebate01/05/26 07:11 PM

How much did you want?
/r/PurplePillDebate01/05/26 07:10 PM

How much casual sex would be enough for you to know that?
/r/PurplePillDebate01/05/26 06:55 PM

Yeah, I have been lucky in this area of life. My dating life has gone according to my desires and I have never had bad sex. If you get to have it and notice that it isn’t for you, are you still going to keep looking for more casual sex?
/r/PurplePillDebate01/05/26 06:50 PM

Ok, then I have had one casual partner and we had a lot of fun together. It was nice but one was enough.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/05/26 06:43 PM

I suppose many feminists share Foucault’s views on gender and sexuality.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/05/26 06:40 PM

Depends on how you define “casual”. I’ve had two partners, one of them lasted for a year because I wasn’t looking for a ltr, the second one is my husband.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/05/26 06:30 PM
2

Seems quite extreme. I find most women quite ordinary. What I have been taught in my upbringing is that polite people don’t advertise their politeness, it’s something that is either seen or not seen by other people. But then again, politeness is very culturally defined.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/05/26 08:58 AM

I see. I have never called anyone a pick me , and I haven’t encountered that term many times in my life so I’m not aware of that change.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/05/26 08:55 AM
1

Even if that was true, so what? What do you need his loyalty for?
/r/PurplePillDebate01/05/26 08:13 AM
1

Jealous over what?
/r/PurplePillDebate01/05/26 08:09 AM

That’s sweet, I don’t know his work well but he has a cute smile.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/04/26 11:09 PM
1

Abductors are so easy to train, no reason to add anything
/r/PurplePillDebate30/04/26 11:03 PM

What cheating? Is watching movies/series and reading books now considered cheating somewhere?
/r/PurplePillDebate30/04/26 10:49 PM
1

Not always easy to differentiate those.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/04/26 10:23 PM
3

Of what time? I was just talking about the definition as I’ve understood it. Are you saying that it’s not the definition in most cases?
/r/PurplePillDebate30/04/26 09:52 PM
2

I’d like to think so too 💕
/r/PurplePillDebate30/04/26 09:50 PM
1

Oh, it sounds a bit progressive. I like progressive metal
/r/PurplePillDebate30/04/26 09:50 PM
1

Probably. Any recommendations?
/r/PurplePillDebate30/04/26 08:29 PM
2

Marriage is a weird thing. I have never been the one to get excited over characters/actors in any media, but when I see someone who reminds me of my husband, I’m suddenly kind of into it.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/04/26 08:23 PM
1

Are you going on a road trip?
/r/PurplePillDebate30/04/26 08:17 PM
3

That too. In my opinion, those boundaries don’t even need to be activated with great guys and true chemistry, because it’s so clear that both want the relationship to happen.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/04/26 08:16 PM
2

They’re kind of boring imo usually, nothing to chew on most of the time.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/04/26 06:53 PM
7

It would have been heartbreaking to just be fuck buddies with my husband. The idea of finding a great guy and then not getting to share a life with him sounds so sad.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/04/26 06:49 PM
47

I was thinking about the same thing. Isn’t pick me often about putting other women down and having that “I’m not like the other girls, pick me” energy?
/r/PurplePillDebate30/04/26 06:47 PM
1

Like this?
/r/PurplePillDebate30/04/26 10:40 AM
1

Those are pure torture
/r/PurplePillDebate29/04/26 09:26 PM
1

I don’t think the touch typing system works for everyone, mostly due to anatomy
/r/PurplePillDebate29/04/26 09:25 PM
1

Probably, yeah. I’ve noticed how some women share these conversations on social media, and oftentimes they go on and on, because the woman tries to explain her pov or explain why that kind of behavior is unwanted.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/04/26 09:24 PM
1

I’ve spent three semesters trying to learn that, only to develop my own system, which I have already forgotten.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/04/26 09:18 PM
2

I was probably 12 when I realized that. Didn’t feel particularly brutal then and doesn’t feel brutal now.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/04/26 09:15 PM
1

Eh, people agree with all sorts of weird stuff here. Wants and motivations aren’t really this straightforward. Sometimes I wish they were, because leading, predicting stuff and doing research would be far more simple.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/04/26 09:13 PM
2

Yeah yesterday I was at a cafe, treating myself because I haven’t done anything like that for months. I was eating a praline when I noticed a man looking at me smiling. At first I didn’t think anything of it but then he just kept staring and started to lick his lips. Normally, I have a higher tolerance for that kind of behavior but I just really wanted to have a treat for myself and not have someone watch me eat.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/04/26 06:10 PM
2

Sounds absolutely disgusting.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/04/26 06:02 PM
3

Sometimes people do things that don’t align with their values or goals, it happens everyday. One doesn’t need to swallow a whole pill to realise that.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/04/26 06:01 PM
1

Two years??
/r/PurplePillDebate29/04/26 05:40 PM
1

Isn’t that a different story altogether? I think sex is a big motivator for men and women, but very few people think “hey I’ll enter this relationship just because I want sex”.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/04/26 05:39 PM
1

Yes, the difference is that enlisting is voluntary. Not an important difference here. Both are about military service, not community service.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/04/26 05:32 PM
1

I would like to say that I agree, but that would be hypocritical because I haven’t enlisted.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/04/26 05:22 PM
4

Most people are more complicated than that, 90% of men aren’t entering a relationship only to have regular sex.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/04/26 05:21 PM
2

Not having relationships with men would be “acknowledging the situation and accepting it”, just not in a way these men you describe would like to have it.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/04/26 05:19 PM
1

Why does he believe that, has he seen it happen to someone?
/r/PurplePillDebate29/04/26 05:08 PM
3

So you’re saying that every man wants to change women every week and some can, while others waste women’s time on a “more or less long term relationship”. That just sounds like it would be better to stay single or focus on those who don’t pretend. Anyway, I hardly doubt that the men you describe “don’t know how to interact effectively” are finding those long-term relationships either. If they have that many unattractive qualities, it’s going to be quite hard to find and keep a relationship.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/04/26 05:07 PM
1

If this is true, then it is a good incentive for women to try to find someone who doesn’t belong in that 90%.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/04/26 04:15 PM
2

It isn’t.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/04/26 04:10 PM

Understandable, chest pump hits differently. I just don’t like bench press and shoulder press and the rest of it. Well, incline bench press is ok.

What did they say? Sounds weird
/r/PurplePillDebate28/04/26 08:14 PM

It was a bit of a culture shock for me too coming from Europe to Canada and the US. Where did you first notice it?
/r/PurplePillDebate28/04/26 06:27 PM

Exactly. And if one’s truly unattractive enough for that to hinder their success in life, how haven’t they noticed that in their childhood already? Did they never leave home?
/r/PurplePillDebate28/04/26 05:43 PM
2

Perhaps. I’m assuming there’s a context here I’m not getting. Basically anything can be a motivation for someone and people are motivated by very different things. It’s just not healthy to make that the only thing in your life.

Some guys will write long essays about how things are the way they are because “that’s human nature”, and then demand women to change. It’s confusing. If they believe something is a law of nature, shouldn’t that give them some peace of mind and compassion?

This is the only place I’ve ever seen a guy tell me how their mother made them believe that they are more attractive than they actually are. It would be interesting to see that kind of parenting in real life since my parents were definitely not like that.

Know what? I didn’t say “majority”. It’s not worth any of our time to pretend we haven’t seen users here who are obsessed with it. This is a subreddit for sex and gender issues. It’s one thing to discuss them, another thing to wallow in it and form crazy theories. Anyway, I don’t think it’s interesting to make too broad generalisations about what men are like and how women think about sex.

Unless it’s a party for furniture or a furniture show, it doesn’t matter that much. Ask people to bring a chair with them

Sex is important and wonderful and definitely a motivator to a lot of things, but it isn’t a motivator to everything. This place has so many people who can’t think of anything else and that’s what sometimes puzzles me.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/04/26 05:13 PM

Okay?
/r/PurplePillDebate28/04/26 10:52 AM

Good morning to you as well. It is certainly rare to be alive, even more rare to live as a human. Fresh air and sky are great, but I couldn’t say anything about having my heart broken, as it has never happened. Do you think it’s an integral part of the human experience? I love washing dishes.

People often talk about things that aren’t “the end of the world”.

Most of the weddings I’ve been to consist mainly of waiting and watching. I don’t know if it’s a cultural difference or what.

Does he enjoy wedding planning or why is he against eloping?
/r/PurplePillDebate27/04/26 09:07 PM

Yeah weddings are probably great events if you truly enjoy those things. Although I’m not so sure about the great mood lol, but my view might be skewed because I’ve worked at so many weddings.

Barbecue sounds great. Probably made the whole atmosphere a lot more relaxed?
/r/PurplePillDebate27/04/26 08:36 PM

Aww thanks ☺️ Yeah I can understand that. I worked in catering for many years and had to go endure a lot of weddings, even though I tried to avoid them. Business events, gambling nights, even memorial services were much easier.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/04/26 08:35 PM
2

Ouch, I can’t imagine going through all that trouble and divorcing shortly after. I have also read about people who took loans to pay for their wedding and then the debt lasted longer than the marriage.

Damn I just hate weddings. I’ve worked at weddings, had a wedding party, been a guest at weddings, etc. and the best thing I can say about a wedding is “it was well organized”. I wasn’t often invited to parties when I was younger but now I’m constantly invited to weddings and other family events. And it’s not like people don’t know my opinion on these kinds of events, it’s one of the only things I can start random rants about.

/r/PurplePillDebate27/04/26 07:47 PM

I’m sorry but I think don’t I understood you correctly. Are you saying that it seems inconsistent to you that those guys get relationships and you don’t?
/r/PurplePillDebate26/04/26 09:00 PM

Perhaps you’re looking for something more lasting?
/r/PurplePillDebate26/04/26 08:51 PM

I like being around men like that. Seeing people flourish in their relationships is very inspiring.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/04/26 06:14 PM

If one’s goal is to be in a relationship that is built on that kind of behavior, sure.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/04/26 06:11 PM

Why does it matter what other people do or don’t do? You’re so young, you have plenty of time to be someone’s something.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/04/26 06:06 PM

Why are you embarrassed about it?
/r/PurplePillDebate26/04/26 05:59 PM

It can be wonderful and it can be tiresome, depending on the man.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/04/26 05:50 PM

I think it might have something to do with who they’re comparing themselves with. If they hang out with men who aren’t that nice, they can honestly think their niceness is a rare pot of gold.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/04/26 05:38 PM

I’ve never “met” as many people obsessed with virginity as I have on this sub.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/04/26 05:36 PM

What’s the point of using language like “men ain’t shit”, if you don’t even mean that?
/r/PurplePillDebate26/04/26 05:35 PM

I wouldn’t do it for multiple reasons, but it’s not inherently wrong. However, it’s probably something you should feel quite strongly about, if you really want to do it.

What exactly is stopping you?

So those better relationships and better job opportunities aren’t enough to show you your desirability, you need casual sex and desperate women to show you that you’re desirable enough to get better relationships and better job opportunities?
/r/PurplePillDebate25/04/26 07:50 PM
2

Okay but why do you need to know that?
/r/PurplePillDebate25/04/26 06:24 PM
2

Why? It likely won’t make you happy.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/04/26 06:20 PM
1

Difficult question, because it’s one of those universal concepts that can’t be defined perfectly. I guess true love is something that makes you feel safe and cherished. I do believe that true love expands your inner self and supports your autonomy. Life just feels better with that person.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/04/26 06:13 PM
1

Could be, but it’s not love. Whether you find it a good thing or not is entirely subjective. I tend to find desperate people quite boring.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/04/26 05:57 PM
2

It could be a number of things, such as fear of being alone, desperate desire or simply low self-esteem. Love is less about looks, it’s more about actions, trust and feeling secure. It’s just not healthy to reduce yourself or your loved one to just physical aspects.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/04/26 05:50 PM
3

That’s not love.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/04/26 05:44 PM

Lots of people are bad at sex when they start having it. Unless it’s something they can’t fix, it’s not that bad.

Why do women share that with me? Probably because they want to speak about it and because they believe that I can take it as it is. Why do they share that with you? I wish I knew, perhaps for the same reasons. If you think it shouldn’t be an issue because it happened a long time ago, why does it ruin your mood?
/r/PurplePillDebate25/04/26 09:57 AM

It has never happened to me but my friend (who is already underweight) had a doctor who gave her weight loss tips. Another one told her to go shopping.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/04/26 07:33 AM

Ah, I see. It might be true, although I have noticed that sometimes people would like to think that their preferences have matured more than they actually have. It’s true for me as well. I made a list of attributes for my ideal boyfriend when I was 15, and that list would be pretty much the same if I had to do it again now.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/04/26 10:01 PM

One of many good reasons to avoid getting married too soon.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/04/26 09:52 PM

How?
/r/PurplePillDebate24/04/26 09:50 PM
1

Yes, rarely.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/04/26 09:49 PM

So you’re saying that a beautiful face is important but that most men aren’t even handsome? Sounds like it’s a rotten deal, no matter which physical attributes a woman finds important. I have rarely seen a guy I would find handsome but didn’t have any noticeable muscle.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/04/26 09:39 PM

Sure. Muscles are hot even when you’re not shredded imho.
