I think about it pretty much every day. I’m just really into history. Other folks probably do the same with sports or any other interest.

I’ve had several buddies whose girlfriends didn’t like them hanging around with me. I questioned for awhile if I was socially inept or had some issue. I’m on the spectrum so I have a hard time picking up on cues sometimes. One of them told me that her boyfriend was “too violent” after he hangs out with me. I’m not a violent person and while me and the guys do sometimes get up to some tomfoolery, I don’t think we ever did anything that was at all violent. Anyway, I don’t know if it’s a me problem…

I’m kinda guilty of this. I have been to gay bars before as a straight guy and it was pretty relaxed and chill. I liked it because there were fewer women which seemed to promote a less rowdy atmosphere.

That’s what makes here different than there. Opposition is important because it forces us to look at ourselves and consider other viewpoints that can help shape our own. I know I’ve had some real dumb fucking ideas in my head sometimes and someone who disagrees with me points out the absurdity of them and I grow:

I was falsely accused of making a pass at my girlfriends cousin at a fucking funeral. Luckily, this wasn’t the first time the woman in question had done this and I was in the good graces of everyone there. So my best advice would be to stay in the good graces of as many folks as possible so that if an accusation is brought forth more people take your side.

Really not much you can do in this situation. Let it simmer and see if she will communicate with you fairly. Definitely need to take some steps before you go back to cohabitation. I have sympathy for abuse victims but at some point you’ve got to take responsibility for your own actions. My girlfriend has PTSD and has at times been mentally reliving her rape and when she scratches and hits in those moments I do forgive her; but only after we discuss it and how that isn’t acceptable generally and …

There was a post not even that long ago that advocated women shoot men because they were afraid they might be raped and because of Roe V Wade it would account to them being afraid they might become pregnant from rape and ruin their life, therefore they would fear for their lives if men were around.

Hey, hope some healthy discourse takes place in here. For me, I first got into it as a moody teen that was a reactionary, I’ll admit. As I gained life experience I changed my stances in a lot of areas. I think big things for me are circumcision, male disposability, and legal parental surrender. I am not a fan of circumcision. I wish I wasn’t. I want society to look on it for what it is. I also really don’t know why we always compare 1st world medical circumcision to 3rd world FGM. I’ll agree bot…

Really not sure I want to engage with this, but here goes. I grew up with girls in my class swooning Johnny Depp. I’ve argued that he doesn’t have style but he can pull it off. I’d be mocked for years if someone got a picture of me in a cowboy hat and denim jacket. I can’t really judge who is or isn’t a good looking guy because it has no rhyme or reason to me. However, he’s got smooth looks and charm to boot. FWIW, I don’t think Brad Pitt has especially unique looks, along with any of the rest o…

I find it very hard to believe that MOST of the time women are having negative interactions with men. Like more than half of all men are harassers that they interact with on a daily basis? There has not been a day in my life where I’ve had a bad interaction with more than half of all the people I interact with. Although there’s the old saying: “if you meet a guy and he’s an asshole, then he’s an asshole. If everyone you meet is an asshole, then you’re the asshole.”

I’m not convinced that if a regular guy did what he did he wouldn’t have been convicted of rape. The connections and family money got him the lawyers that could exploit those cracks in the law and get away with it. The right lawyer that goes golfing with the judge every weekend said the right words and it slid. Your public defender probably couldn’t pull off the same stunt. I definitely agree he should be charged because it was, but he wasn’t. People were very riled up by it, but very, very litt…

I do feel some sympathy for her. Her ex husband was an abuser. His next wife committed suicide and cited the abuse the last time she spoke to her kids. She also had a drug problem for several years, so that doesn’t help any mental health issues. Still, I can empathize without excusing what she did.

It was my girlfriends aunt. She immediately spoke up for me, as did most of her family. Curiously, the bitch who accused me had recently married a guy who was accused of molesting several kids in the past, and her son is currently facing something like 8 rape charges with good evidence. I guess she got the idea from somewhere

Mine worked out well. My girlfriend and I had been dating a few months when her Grandma passed. Her known problem aunt would be at the funeral. Things went alright throughout the funeral and the graveside service. While eating afterward she accused me of trying to molest her daughter. I’m just fortunate that I hadn’t even been within 30 feet of her daughter or said a word to her all day and that was the first time I’d met them and everyone there knew that. I was 18 at the time and she was 15. An…

Hey, lifelong Christian here. I'm not trying to challenge your views or be confrontational. I'm just curious about Satanism, and I'm sure most of what I've heard is probably exaggerated. To me, it seems more offensive to remake female versions of classics. To me it says the best women can do is make sub par copies of men's work.

You're in a hard place, and have my sympathy. I don't know what you can do to better this situation. You'd have no chance of getting away from her with custody of your kids, and with you out of the picture the abuse would probably get worse. You're doing the right thing by sticking it out. Unfortunately, that isn't fair and I really do hope you can get into a better place. In this situation, women hold all the cards, and there isn't much men can do about it.

Brock Turner got off easy because he had money and connections. I'm kinda tired of people pretending like the average white male offender would get off as easy as he did. I think what he did was reprehensible and he should have been given harsher charge. He got acceptable but still pretty light charges for what he did. Had he actually been charged with rape he would have done real time.

I’d be 100% on board with her getting some sort of caretaker. Just ditching him sounds kinda shitty. I’m not saying she should be at his beck and call 24/7, but there’s several steps between “It’s not fair to me to have to take care of this person who cannot take care of themselves” and “I’m leaving this person because I cannot handle this lifestyle anymore”

I’m not really active as an MRA. I find getting too caught in anything like that makes me really depressed and makes life seem like more of a struggle than it is. My girlfriend is a feminist, who formerly headed a chapter at a college. This. I'm overweight. I'm working on it, but I like food. I'm dropping pounds slowly. Obesity isn't something that just happens to most people. Some diseases can make it very difficult to control your weight, but this isn't common. A normal functioning adult is absolutely capable of controlling their weight. They weren't just made obese and have to live with it. They lack the self control, commitment, and guts to make it so. That applies to me as well. Let's stop the pity party "Oh no, I'm fat".…

I'll try to find the source but in a company of 220 men and 30 women, 25 of them got pregnant right before deployment. Meanwhile something like 12 men had children and were allowed to stay home. I used to, now I go to a unisex hair salon. Even without mental health stuff, it's kind of a therapeutic place. It's one of the things I miss, sit there, watch old movies on an ancient TV, and get your hair cut. Talk about man stuff. It's nice, I'd recommend it.

Feminism does bring up some important women's issues that are important to living in an equal society. That being said, the amount of whiny, 1st world problems or just pure fictional problems you have to dig through to get to them is rediculous. Everything I see on feminism is about how men are rapists, abusers, and controllers while women are perfect. Men's rights activists are in general in conflict with feminism based on the fact that feminist policies have in the past been detrimental to men…

I'm up for some discussion. Alright, so I believe it's murder, and you believe it's a woman's right to her body. The woman consented to sex, and, even with birth control, she consented to the possibility of having a child. Therefore she consented to that child using her body.

It also doesn't help that consent seems to be wishy washy in that it can be taken away at any time and without telling anyone. Exactly. I'm going to get down voted to hell for this, but I'd say true gender equality is something very difficult to achieve. The genders by and large are just too different. First off, might I say this is a really low blow. Who would ever use their kids to get at someone is a special kin of messed up. No matter what happens, don't sign anything. She's talking big, which generally means that they don't have anything to back it up. You have an agreement. She can't just take your kids from you just because. You need a lawyer. Whatever you gotta do, he'll know. I hope the best for you.

I screenshotted that last part. I'm going to remake it and put it on my wall, because that's incredibly motivational. Thank you sir.

Exactly. I was in a similar spot near the end of high school. I eventually realized that I was only so messed up because I kept making comparisons. A mile looks big to a person, but small to a country. Shrink your perspective a bit and things get a bit rosier. I thought for awhile that I might kill myself one day, but I always told myself that was being a little bitch. I may be a lot of things, but I ain't no bitch. Worked for me, might work for someone else so I'll leave it here.

Honestly, going to the police probably won't help that much. If he makes bail he'll be out quick. You're probably going to be thrown out if he does this. As far as I know, there's no programs in place to help teenage guys who are victims of domestic violence. If you're in college get a dorm. It'll buy you a place to stay long enough to get a longer term solution.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
