like a child who doesn't understand what is going in. Perhaps this is out of your league I'm not trying to insult anyone. You’re even more confused than I thought.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/01/24 11:37 PM

Considering that you have to keep secretly editing your comments in a desperate attempt to get them to make any sense, you’re not in a position to insult others.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/01/24 11:30 PM

What was your goal in making this post? Unless your goal was to sound ridiculous, every comment has proven that you failed.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/01/24 11:22 PM

This entire post is an error.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/01/24 11:17 PM

Stealth editing comments is pathetic.

When a male mammal insists on sex with a female mammal and succeeds Whether the female or other males are able to stop you or not is the entire matter. Accurately identifying rape isn’t an “emotional response.”
/r/PurplePillDebate07/01/24 11:11 PM

Er, sounds like the rape part is what OP considers “strength”
/r/PurplePillDebate07/01/24 11:04 PM

Yikes

why is marriage so repulsive to men now but still desirable for women? False premise.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/01/24 02:48 PM

It sounds like you’re describing teenagers? It’s still normal for most adult relationships to end after a few months, because that’s when you have enough information about someone to make a relatively informed decision about whether to get more invested (or not). It has nothing to do with soulmates or social media, but compatibility and peoples character.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/01/24 04:44 PM

Are you just talking about sex?
/r/PurplePillDebate04/01/24 04:50 PM

The part that really trips me up: the same women who are so antisocial at a bar are the ones I regularly go out with on dating apps. Why is that surprising? Being on a dating app doesn’t mean you’d drop anything you’re doing to talk to a random stranger that you know nothing about.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/01/24 08:17 PM
2

No it doesn’t. Many people get legally married without any of those intentions.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/12/23 08:50 PM

Why is love a reason to get legally married??
/r/PurplePillDebate30/12/23 08:29 PM

multiple studies show that women believe roughly 85% of the men they view on the apps are average or below average attractiveness wise When I see studies about men’s ratings about women’s attractiveness, I interpret them as “would I fuck this woman?” Most guys would fuck most women, and have an orgasm doing it. When I read studies of women rating mens attractiveness ONLINE, I interpret them as ratings of men’s PROFILES, not limited to physical attractiveness. A large number of men’s profiles do …
/r/PurplePillDebate30/12/23 08:00 PM

Also many women marry to get money or for finantial security rather than the legitimate reason which is love There’s zero reason to get legally married if you’re not looking for security. That’s what legal marriage is for. Anyone can have a ceremony for love.

The standards I had when I was younger allowed me to be in relationships that made my life worse than being single. The standards I have now ensure that I’m single… except when a relationship would make my life better than being single. Lowering my standards would mean I’m never single, but would make my life worse.

It sounds like you equate masculinity with a lack of social skills? People tell joke they think other people will enjoy because that’s what jokes are for. People don’t talk about their sexual desires with everyone (like coworkers, acquaintances), because it’s an inappropriate overshare.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/12/23 05:57 PM
8

It seems like you are equating effort with head games? Of course people in healthy relationships put in effort.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/12/23 05:05 PM

I know you’ve written on it- you’ve written two completely contradictory things.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/12/23 12:15 AM
4

What you said is exactly what you are now saying that you did not say. Either you think that women ask about jobs for just one reason, or you know better. It can’t be both.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/12/23 12:13 AM
4

But what ARE you saying??
/r/PurplePillDebate22/12/23 12:09 AM
7

I’m not following you. Are you saying that because some women on Reddit ask about job to determine financials, it must be true that everyone you go on dates with is doing that and only that? It can’t be true that any women ask about someone’s job on a date to find out anything else about them? Like what they’re passionate about or what kind of life they have?
/r/PurplePillDebate22/12/23 12:01 AM
12

but to me it's a very thinly veiled way of asking what I bring to the table as a man strictly from a socio-economic standpoint. Why do you think that? Strictly? There are so many ways that someone’s job impacts their partner besides financial. Being on-call or working variable hours. Working third shift. Traveling a lot for work. Having a stressful job.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/12/23 11:56 PM
13

The same reasons anyone would choose to be single/date casually for a certain time in their life.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/12/23 08:01 PM

Depends what “expect” means. It it just means that someone is only interested in dating people that pay for dates, then no. There are plenty of gay people who want to pay on dates and plenty of gay people who want to be paid for on dates. A preferred role in romantic relationships in not necessarily a gendered role. Wanting a certain type of partner doesn’t become a sexist act just because you have certain genitals/gender expression.

Is it okay for women to lie about being on birth control? About STDs?

I assumed you referenced the definition of extrapolate because you still think that’s what you mean? If you don’t know what you mean, you can’t expect me to.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/12/23 04:53 PM
0

That you don’t know what extrapolate means? I think that because you keep using it incorrectly in a situation where there is no data to extrapolate from. It’s like telling something to drink when they don’t have a beverage.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/12/23 04:19 PM
6

And yet, you’re unable to reference “the stats.”
/r/PurplePillDebate13/12/23 11:48 PM

Exactly- what known data am I extrapolating from?
/r/PurplePillDebate13/12/23 11:40 PM

I don’t think you know what extrapolate means?

One of the top reasons for divorce being financial reasons just means the man didn't make enough That is a bizarre and baseless assumption.

How serious were the relationships?
/r/PurplePillDebate13/12/23 10:22 PM

essentially believe the economic world is completely rigged against them, which is basically what incels seem to believe about the dating world There’s a massive difference between a system having unequal or even unfair outcomes, and a system being “rigged” against people. Imagine a short person wanting to play basketball and but not being selected for a team. Now imagine a person not being picked for a team because the coach took a bribe to pick someone else. Those are not the same situations.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/12/23 08:14 PM

How many serious relationships have you been in, and were they with people you knew before or strangers (from apps, etc)?
/r/PurplePillDebate13/12/23 07:45 PM

I personally think that sleeping with your professor for grades is absolute lowest of the low level behavior Given that you’re not concerned about a man using his professional leverage to have sex with women who he has authority over… This post is a perfect example of men’s immorality being ignored.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/11/23 10:17 PM
3

How does that answer my question? You’re telling me I have plenty of time because you have plenty of time, then switching to telling me it’s about your magical hypothetical scenario having plenty of time.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/11/23 10:12 PM
3

Then how is your current life relevant??
/r/PurplePillDebate21/11/23 10:06 PM
5

Sorry, you’re saying women would get what they want because they’d be indoctrinated to think more casual sex was the norm? Men get fully satisfied by getting what they actually want, and women would be “fully satisfied” by being told to want what they get? Yikes.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/11/23 10:05 PM

YOU have a lot of free time, therefore WE aren’t running out of time? Excuse me?
/r/PurplePillDebate21/11/23 09:14 PM

But what are you saying that women want. You’re claiming that this will make both men and women “fully satisfied.” How did you come to the conclusion that women would be satisfied?
/r/PurplePillDebate21/11/23 09:12 PM

this really stems from a scarcity mindset. Time is only really that crucial if you are late and are also in scarcity of something. for my advice to work the situation would have to be something very post scarcity There is no post-scarcity for time. We’re mortal. We’re all going to die. My time is scarce. My boyfriend’s time is scarce. It always will be.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/11/23 11:50 AM

Lol, stealth editing the comment to make it more rational after the fact.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/11/23 11:27 AM

Yep, that’s where I said almost no one buys a house with someone they’re not in a romantic relationship with. Why did you think that meant no one buys houses?
/r/PurplePillDebate21/11/23 11:21 AM
3

You said: no one ever buys a house I very literally did not say that.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/11/23 11:12 AM

You are the only person who has brought up roommates. I have no idea why, and apparently you refuse to tell me when I ask.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/11/23 11:09 AM
7

The only way both men and women can both be fully satisfied How are women “fully” satisfied in this scenario? It sounds like men get everything they want. Women just get less risk, and the expectation they’ll do things they don’t want to.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/11/23 11:07 AM
6

What about roommates? How is that relevant? Not every couple is buying a house and having kids together. And therefore…?
/r/PurplePillDebate21/11/23 11:04 AM

You act like time has no value. I could go out and get a second job to make money to give that money to strangers who approach me on the street. The same reasons I don’t are the reasons I’m not going to have sex with people I don’t want to have sex with. Even though it makes them feel good. And I don’t want my boyfriend to get a second job either, because I don’t want him to spend less time with me. And I don’t want either of us raising other peoples’ kids. We don’t have kids because we don’t wa…

Tell us you’ve never had a FWB or never had a romantic relationship without telling us you’ve never had a FWB or a romantic relationship… I agree with you that platonic relationships are undervalued. But there’s a reason that almost no one ever buys a house or decides to raise a kid with someone they don’t have a romantic connection to.

OLD was simply a response to people staying home more I think OLD was originally a way to find more compatible matches than the folks you might run into naturally. OKCupid had so many quizzes to help you find a particular kind of match. But as more people joined, for the reasons you reference, it became more of a meat market.

all the while giving off the illusion that he wants a romantic relationship with her. Again, how is he doing that. Fucking someone does not imply that you are going to have kids with them or take them home for Christmas.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/11/23 10:48 PM

Extremely weird that you say she thought she was in a relationship. The title is literally “I was talking to this guy,” which is not a relationship.

a man who feigns for relationship with a woman and strings her along How?
/r/PurplePillDebate16/11/23 10:34 PM
10

Before when he was actively and intentionally hiding that he was interested in her and not flirting?
/r/PurplePillDebate16/11/23 10:16 PM
8

But you say that when the man actually expresses his interest, that she turns him down. That is the opposite of stringing someone along.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/11/23 10:09 PM
7

That’s what you just described: Men acting like a friend and not flirting, or expressing any romantic or sexual interest.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/11/23 09:48 PM
11

If you’re pretending to be someone’s friend, you’re stringing yourself along.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/11/23 09:39 PM
3

Men also shouldn't be shamed if they want to capitalize and string along 30+ women for relationships because let's face it, those same women were doing the same thing in their 20s to men. Who are women stringing along in their 20s?
/r/PurplePillDebate16/11/23 07:07 PM

What does this have to do with women “understanding” men’s experience? How does this relate to the post?
/r/PurplePillDebate16/11/23 07:11 AM
61

Breaking up with someone who wants a paternity test =/= being against paternity testing. I’m for paternity tests the same way I’m for children support payments. Sounds like a great way to manage liabilities between two people who aren’t partners. If you think women who break up because of paternity testing demands are manipulative cheaters… you should want to break up too! You shouldn’t want them to have your kids in the first place!
/r/PurplePillDebate16/11/23 06:18 AM
10

Do you find it hard to shut down or ignore unsolicited advice? Most of the advice I see women give men is explicitly solicited. Post after post on dating subs of men asking women for advice.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/11/23 06:06 AM
12

But why do men need women to understand? Doesn’t 50% of the population understand “the problem?” Why isn’t that enough?
/r/PurplePillDebate16/11/23 01:03 AM
3

So what?
/r/PurplePillDebate15/11/23 09:37 PM
5

Plus, I see girls love taking photos around all the time. What is your point here? Do you believe that all women are the same? If you see some girls taking selfies, it can’t be true that a lot of women don’t enjoy it?
/r/PurplePillDebate15/11/23 09:31 PM
6

A lot women don’t enjoy it either. But it does show a lot about personality- that you’re willing to put in effort and communicate, even when it doesn’t come naturally.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/11/23 09:18 PM
1

As opposed to what? Letting her think you want to be friends when you don’t?
/r/PurplePillDebate15/11/23 07:49 PM

being humble is generally the action of a good and kind person. Being humble is not an action at all, much less an act of kindness.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/11/23 06:26 PM

Misrepresentation is wrong, but you can get divorced. A woman can’t un-birth a kid.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/11/23 03:23 PM

And many women would choose not to have children in a relationship without trust. If you’re suspicious of your partner, giver her a chance to leave before having your kid.

It’s not decided by the woman either.

The vast majority of this post has nothing to do with love. This is the only part that’s relevant: In relationships,Men aren’t loved they are only loved for what they can give . But the only “proof” you have is that you’re “pretty sure” women wouldn’t help a partner in an attack?
/r/PurplePillDebate13/11/23 10:36 PM
1

I'm just questioning whether illegality is good or bad for women. Depends on the woman, obviously. An only wife benefits from inheritance not being split.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/11/23 10:26 PM
3

Caring about the environment is caring about humanity and kids.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/11/23 08:20 PM

Most couples who meet "online" aren't necessarily using "dating apps". Are you saying it’s a fact that they aren’t? Or just that it might be a fact?
/r/PurplePillDebate13/11/23 07:29 PM
1

Why is he partnered with a manipulative woman? Why is he having kids with a manipulative woman?
/r/PurplePillDebate13/11/23 07:27 PM
12

If you want your partner to be more committed to you, propose. It’s completely illogical to expect someone you’re just dating to treat you like someone they’ve made a huge commitment to. Anyone who is seriously commitment-minded is dating to decide whether to make a commitment, not to act like they already have.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/11/23 05:00 PM
1

But if your friend goes on a date with someone and rapes them, you stop being friends with them because there was no consent, right? You don’t say, “that’s that person’s problem for going on a date with a rapist.” So why are you OK with someone who violates consent to trick someone into a relationship they didn’t agree to and expose them to STDs?
/r/PurplePillDebate13/11/23 03:35 PM
2

Then they should be completely honest with their partner, and their partner can decide if they are OK with it. I personally would not choose to marry or have a child with someone who needed medical evidence that I wasn’t tricking them into raising someone else’s kid. Others would.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/11/23 03:20 PM
1

But in all cases, telling someone you need risk-mitigation because they are untrustworthy now is completely different than awareness that they may become untrustworthy in the future. If someone tells me they have a go-bag because I might hit them today, we should break up today. If someone tells me they need a paternity tests because they think I’m lying today, we should break up today.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/11/23 03:12 PM
1

Telling someone who is risking their life to have your kid that your relationship is not solid is not the same as asking for a prenup.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/11/23 03:01 PM
3

What does that have to do with this conversation?
/r/PurplePillDebate13/11/23 02:56 PM
2

You don’t understand the difference between currently thinking your partner is mentally ill (but still having a kid with them) and understanding there’s a chance they may become mentally ill?
/r/PurplePillDebate13/11/23 02:55 PM
3

Obviously. What is your point?
/r/PurplePillDebate13/11/23 02:53 PM
5

Let’s be real here, the paternity test thing isn’t about medical disorders for the guys who argue for it here on this sub. You’re not understanding this conversation.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/11/23 02:51 PM
8

I know people who have been upstanding and trustworthy their entire life, then developed Bipolar disorder. There is every reason to be prepared for the worst in your partner, regardless of their past or current behavior. No one should “trust” another person not to develop a medical disorder. That’s not a personal failing.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/11/23 02:44 PM
2

But someone is in a relationship they did not consent to. They did not consent to be in an open relationship, but they are in a one-sided open relationship. They did not consent to new exposure to potential STDs, but they are potentially being exposed to STDs.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/11/23 02:40 PM
12

These are completely different issues. Prenups and go-bags are to prepare for the chance that someone might become a risk in the future. This is not personal. Most adults know a relative or acquaintance who developed a serious mental illness that presented a threat to their family. There are many factors that could lead even the best person to become unstable, through no fault of their own. Paternity tests are to cope with the fact that you think your partner is untrustworthy NOW, and was likely…
/r/PurplePillDebate13/11/23 02:35 PM

A lot of relationships start online. So, a lot of men and women find partners online and commit to them. But then they are no longer online. The men and women online most often are people who explicitly do not want to commit, or think they want to commit (but actually do not). When you log on, this is mostly who you see. People who only want to get serious with people who do not want to get serious… aren’t actually interested in getting serious. Online dating is full of avoidant people, because …
/r/PurplePillDebate13/11/23 07:50 AM

Everyone is so “me, me, me,” these days, when they should be focused on working extra hours to increase corporate profits! People should have kids so they’re too afraid too have any boundaries whatsoever!
/r/PurplePillDebate13/11/23 03:44 AM
3

Creating kids because you can’t be bothered to wear a condom isn’t a fucking selfless act either. I have no clue how any of these observations led to you making this ridiculous post. You’re just describing the most selfish irresponsible behavior and saying it’s great because it makes people feel better about going to work.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/11/23 03:31 AM
5

At least with kids you’re working hard to give them a good childhood and all that Again, you’re saying that the purpose of kids is to make grown people feel better about being wage slaves. It’s a disgusting position.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/11/23 03:23 AM
10

Lolololol… you’re saying that people should have kids as a self-harm prevention mechanism, and calling that prioritizing someone else. You are describing incredibly self-centered and selfish behavior, and pretending it’s a sacrifice. Give me a fucking break. Kids aren’t a living stress ball for your desk.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/11/23 03:14 AM
14

What? You are saying that parents put up with more misery and bullshit because they are desperate to feed their kids… But also that single people are more miserable because they put up with less bullshit because they’re not desperate to feed their kids? How does this make even the smallest amount of sense.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/11/23 03:03 AM
5

Historically it did work out for women though Why do you believe this.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/11/23 02:52 AM
17

If you have kids, you’re more likely to accept the bullshit and put up with the misery life often throws at you WHY. IS. THAT. GOOD. You keep saying the same thing over and over again. Yes, we agree that parents put up with more bullshit and misery than people living just for themselves. Tell me why that’s a good thing. Why is that an argument for having kids.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/11/23 02:48 AM
20

And I’m asking you why that is a good thing. Why is it a good thing that people put up with abusive employers or work harder to potentially make the world a worse place?
/r/PurplePillDebate13/11/23 01:18 AM
7

And you don’t care about human rights.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/11/23 01:14 AM
7

Whoa, you aren’t sure whether restricting participation in the political process by age is a violation of human rights, but you are sure that restricting access to alcohol is? How does that make sense?
/r/PurplePillDebate13/11/23 01:09 AM
14

Is it a violation of human rights to not be able to drink until 21 or run for president until 35?
/r/PurplePillDebate13/11/23 01:03 AM

People talk about how terrible it is to have kids, but I can speak from experience that the people who do have kids work a hell of a lot harder and have a reason to actually put up with their job. Why are you framing this as an absolute good? If I’m working harder in an industry that wreaks environmental destruction, is that a good outcome of me having kids? If I’m putting up with unsafe working conditions, is that a good outcome of me having kids?

How does that answer the question? If true, it may be a reason for women not to care about other women’s opinions. It’s not a reason for women not to have their own opinions of people.

For men to take it into account how?? You think a man is going to think a woman is great for the “wrong” reasons unless you point it out to him? You need to remind men what they’re attracted to?

That’s not our point of disagreement. I’m fully aware that members of both genders lose interest in the person they’re dating all the time. But you seem to be saying that if women understand how lonely single men are, 1) they’ll stop losing interest, or 2) they’ll still lose interest but stay in the relationship anyway. And I have no idea why you think that. There’s no logical reason to imagine that would occur.

Why in the world would empathy get a woman to date a man she doesn’t want to date or stay in a relationship she doesn’t want to stay in? For the first paragraph, it sounds like you’re looking for an explanation of how people can speak to anyone about anything other than dating? As an example: I joined a local volunteer organization. I offered to help with board activities. I met a lot of strangers because we were all working on something together. I saw them repeatedly, because we all went to the same meetings. How is this an answer to my question?

Why childless people? Let’s think of two examples: Person A: Childless, saved a significant amount for retirement, continues to contribute towards taxes and the economy. /r/PurplePillDebate07/11/23 04:52 AM

I feel like this must just be a misunderstanding based on geography and lifestyle. A lot of people still leave the house and participate in all kinds of social events. They’re part of clubs and organizations where they meet people and keep interacting with them. They meet friends at the bar where they are introduced to friends of friends. There are SO many ways to meet people that don’t involve a cold approach.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/11/23 11:34 PM

If you can’t be bothered to engage in the discussion you started, I certainly can’t be.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/11/23 10:43 PM

So why do you keep defining empathy as words and actions? Worse if being empathetic towards others is your default (with words or by action) it becomes the bare minimum they expect from you Why do you characterize acting “fairly” as “getting fucked over?”
/r/PurplePillDebate06/11/23 09:38 PM

Approaching a interaction in good faith assumes that this person will treat you fairly and so you must treat them fairly too. That’s not empathy. None of this is empathy. What do you actually think empathy means?
/r/PurplePillDebate06/11/23 09:30 PM

How in the world do you think this plays out in real life?? You imagine that the other person wants to fuck you over, so you let them fuck you over? You think that’s what empathy means?

This isn’t about online dating vs. meeting people offline. This is about dating strangers vs. people you have already gotten to know. I disagree that these are equivalent. Our first responsibility is to not actively do harm to our partner, way before our responsibility to support our partner. If one person is not doing their share of responsibilities, it places an unfair burden in the other person. The first priority is always to remove the negatives, before addressing the absence of something positive.

Choosing to cling to someone you do not yet know shows poor judgment. Healthy adults are evaluating whether someone is a good and trustworthy person before attaching themselves. Also, being overly close or adhering yourself to someone limits them. If you object to someone doing anything without you, they will be making huge sacrifices and making their life smaller to accommodate your clinginess.

What in the world are you talking about? If I’m fixing the garbage disposal, I test the garbage disposal to see if I fixed it. If you’re doing something to improve someone else’s well-being, the most logical thing in the world is to CHECK AND SEE IF IT’S WORKING. Assuming that you fixed a problem without evidence is emotional, not logical.

Trust is certainly an issue. If a pregnant woman is unconscious and being rushed into emergency surgery, her husband is making life or death decisions about her. She’s trusted her husband enough to risk her life and health by getting pregnant. It’s reasonable to only want to trust someone with your life if they trust you.

Accusing the guy who sexually assaulted me?
/r/PurplePillDebate20/10/23 05:17 PM

You’re saying I’m accusing someone of being a rapist for sexually assaulting me on a first date?
/r/PurplePillDebate20/10/23 05:17 PM
1

And?
/r/PurplePillDebate20/10/23 05:13 PM

Then I won’t go on a second date.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/10/23 05:12 PM

Because I have no idea whether someone is a great guy or a terrible guy.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/10/23 05:11 PM

“I don’t know you” is an accusation? “I don’t know whether you’re a rapist or not” is an accusation? Maybe you don’t know what accusation means.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/10/23 05:07 PM

Glad you think the top comment is great, because that’s also me.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/10/23 05:05 PM

No, it’s saying I don’t trust a stranger not to be a rapist. “I don’t know this stranger” =/= “I know this stranger is a rapist.”

Cooking fish is a mitigation strategy. You don’t understand that?
/r/PurplePillDebate20/10/23 04:57 PM

Sorry, are you saying the date analogy is throughout a relationship? You think there are a lot of women only seeing their long-term boyfriends in public because they’re worried about being raped by them in private?
/r/PurplePillDebate20/10/23 04:55 PM
12

You can't avoid ALL risks in life, if there are risks you can mitigate, then you should So you’d agree that no one should play football, ride motorcycles, eat sushi, drink alcohol…
/r/PurplePillDebate20/10/23 04:52 PM

If a woman believes that asking for a paternity test is an accusation of cheating, then the same women should never propose to a man a date in public considering it is incredibly rude to accused someone of being a sex offender/rapist. The idea is that you don’t trust a stranger until you get to know them and build trust. You’re equating trusting a stranger with trusting a wife, implying that a man has proposed and impregnated a woman even though they have not built any trust.

a NON-ZERO chance of happening. And thus, everyone should get a test to make it a ZERO percent chance, even if in reality the chance of the child not being yours is probably 0.01%. Anyone this risk averse would not be in a committed relationship or have a kid at all. If you’re only this risk averse in this particular area of life, explain why.

Faulty premise. I believe, take the same dude 2 times, same looks, same personality, everything is the same. Just one dude is a goal chaser and the other is a chiller. This IS a personality difference. You can’t separate out someone’s level of ambition from their personality.

Invest in general social skills and friendship. If you’re unable to make conversation with a stranger, you’re probably not going to do well on a date. If you’re unable to maintain a healthy friendship, you’re probably not going to be able to maintain a relationship.

Women often pick men because they know that they don't have other options. Where are you getting this?
/r/PurplePillDebate19/10/23 08:34 PM

In my experience, more attractive people have more experience rejecting people setting boundaries. The guys who were never in demand are the ones who don’t know how to handle situations. Also, they may never have “chosen” you, and may have gotten into a relationship out of desperation.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/10/23 08:33 PM

The reasons have nothing to do with the child's life. You are wrong. Being in a relationship with damaged trust is one thing, when the only people impacted are two adults who choose it. Raising a child in that environment is another thing.

/r/PurplePillDebate19/10/23 01:40 AM

Why “should” they though? Why is someone’s self-improvement the responsibility of a near-stranger? I understand how it is nice and helpful. I don’t understand why it’s a responsibility. If women actually thought this was a responsibility, they would be even pickier, turning down first dates with anyone they weren’t already comfortable with.

This is not a “female friend” issue. I’m a woman with a lot of female friends. I’ve never said this, and none of the women I’ve chosen to be friends with have said this. /r/PurplePillDebate18/10/23 03:50 AM

you're making arguments that have nothing to do with what the article actually said. Of course I am, because I’m responding to your claims that have nothing to do with what the article actually said. An average difference of $4,000 does not imply a standard difference $4,000 per year starting at age 21, which is the basis of your argument,
/r/PurplePillDebate18/10/23 03:34 AM
1

What is YOUR point? Because if men aren’t consistently saving $4,000 a year more from age 21, that missing $4,000 doesn’t add up to the retirement amount you claim. And all evidence suggests that no one is saving $4,000 at age 21, when they’re barely working. If the $4,000 doesn’t start at 21, the compound interest doesn’t start at 21, and your equation is trashed.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/10/23 02:58 AM

Exactly. You didn’t understand that the $4,000 is a reference to the source linked in the post.

She’s not even expressing a “thesis.” “I was bitten by a pit bull, so now I don’t like dogs,” is not a thesis about whether all dogs bite. It doesn’t require your opinion. You’re proving the point. Because you’ve never had a false positive, you incorrectly assume you’ve never had a false negative, with no basis. Everyone I think is a druggie is a druggie =/= Everyone I think is NOT a druggie is NOT a druggie. Every woman I think is a lesbian is a lesbian =/= Every woman I think is straight is straight.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/10/23 02:49 PM

You’re not answering my question. How do you know they ALL “smell?” This is so naive. Everyone can recognize people who do drugs. It’s hubris to think you can recognize ALL people who do drugs.

But why do you believe that all men who rape women act like it? I’ve heard some men talk about shoplifting. I would never assume that all men who shoplift talk about shoplifting. I would not assume I knew who was a shoplifter just because some shoplifters were so obvious. So why did you come to the conclusion that because some rapists are obvious, all of them are?

TikTok is not representative. But there are certainly a lot of young women who saw their mothers working full-time AND doing the majority of parenting/housework, who do not want to repeat the pattern. If women don’t feel confident that men will pull their weight in the “feminine” realm, their going to expect them to show up in the “masculine” realm.

Let's say you're right that most people still are not leaving high school as virgins I never said anything like that.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/10/23 11:06 PM

And this has absolutely no relevance to the data point you are trying to refute. Let’s say everyone in a random high school loses their virginity in senior year. 0% of kids would finish that high school as virgins AND over 75% of kids in that high school would be virgins. You are incorrectly using the second stat to try to disprove the first.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/10/23 02:16 PM

Are you discussing FINISHING high school as a virgin, or switching the discussion to high schoolers being virgins? Because those are two very different stats.

My question had nothing to do with whether insecurity HAS VALUE (is good/bad). My question was about whether insecurity is A VALUE (important principle) of OPs, and what that means to him.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/10/23 03:30 AM
1

YOU said your insecurities are a value to you because they allow for growth and development. I am asking what YOU meant. You refuse to tell me, but have decided to make unrelated accusations because of something you’ve imagined in your brain.

You consider insecurity to be a value?

/r/PurplePillDebate08/10/23 06:56 PM

I don’t find men very interesting overall. So why would this advice be relevant to women who like men?
/r/PurplePillDebate07/10/23 11:21 AM

I’ve tried causally dating men who I knew nothing about first and I found those men are far more insufferable, boring and unlikeable. Er, so what? Obviously your friends are people you found likable and interesting… that’s how you became friends with them. Being friends with them is not what made them likable and interesting. If I said, “I’m looking for a massage therapist that’s likable and trustworthy.” No one would say, “you should only get massages by someone you’ve been friends with for yea…

I’m well aware that some people think dating is a competition, to the point that they’ll settle for terrible partners they don’t even like just to avoid feeling like a “loser” because they have no internal sense of self-worth. And I’m well aware they’ll call others losers to feel better about the choice they made.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/10/23 02:12 AM

These are reasons to break up or not, but not because of his past. I’m not going to be OK having bad sex for the rest of my life just because his ex-wife also had bad sex…
/r/PurplePillDebate03/10/23 01:37 AM
4

You should probably ask people who use those terms in this context? As far as I can tell, those people typically do it because of personal issues with insecurities.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/10/23 01:20 AM
4

Eh, I don’t find this kind of framing is very useful. Asian men and black women are less popular on dating apps, but I don’t think that’s a reason to think they are “losers” if they don’t find a partner within a racist society. A lot of terrible people get married all the time. There are more marriages that I’d consider a living hell than marriages I’d consider prizes.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/10/23 12:50 AM
7

Because it’s not inherently a competition. There are people that choose to behave as if it’s a competition. It’s like jogging down a path. One person could decide they’re racing another person. But that’s not what makes it a race.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/10/23 11:33 PM
4

Why “evolutionary?”
/r/PurplePillDebate02/10/23 10:06 PM
12

But to the point of the post, a lot of people won’t “admit” that they’re in a competition because they are choosing not to be in a competition.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/10/23 08:52 PM
14

I’m not talking about my perception of fit. I wouldn’t even put any thought into who is a better fit for another person I liked. That’s his job. If I think a woman is terrible, but that’s who my crush feels is the best fit, best of luck to them.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/10/23 08:40 PM
23

If I like someone, but there’s another person they know who would be a better fit for them, I wouldn’t want to “win” the competition.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/10/23 08:35 PM

So how did you decide they’re having “such success,” as opposed to minimal success?
/r/PurplePillDebate02/10/23 07:34 PM

with such success? Meaning what? Are you looking at data about their success rate, out of who they message? The total number of women scammed? The total amount of money?
/r/PurplePillDebate02/10/23 06:50 PM
1

I’m literally still focused on understanding the words in your title! I don’t think we enjoy “healthy” competition at the gym, because I don’t think we’re competing for anything… you are telling me we’re competing for something. Most women I know see going to the gym like going to the grocery store. If someone told me I was sabotaging my direct competition in the produce aisle by focusing on my grocery list, I’d be just as confused as I am now.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/10/23 02:53 PM
1

Please explain how the women on the next treadmill is my “direct competition” for longevity. If she succeeds in living longer… do I die sooner?
/r/PurplePillDebate02/10/23 02:38 PM
1

You edited your comment to be about your fiancée’s workplace. I have only asked you about the gym and YOUR observations about it. What are the women you see at the gym “competing for” in your mind?
/r/PurplePillDebate02/10/23 02:30 PM
1

Direct competition? Competition for what?
/r/PurplePillDebate02/10/23 02:26 PM

So you personally think this is “sabotage” or not? Again, I’m 100% genuinely confused at how anyone could describe any of this behavior as sabotage, which you seem to be doing?
/r/PurplePillDebate02/10/23 02:22 PM

I’m totally lost with this post. I’m not just responding to your bullet… but your title and first sentence. So, did YOU see women sabotage other women at the gym today or not? “My girlfriend thinks women sabotage each other” is totally different than “I saw women sabotage each other this morning.”
/r/PurplePillDebate02/10/23 02:14 PM

? I’m genuinely asking. I’ve spent a lot of time in the gym, and I’ve never seen a woman try to “sabotage” their “competition,” and don’t understand why wanting to work out in silence is being interpreted that way by you. Women are way more likely to spend their time with young kids and customer service roles, and way more likely to see their workout time as an escape from meeting other people’s needs, including emotional needs. Doing cardio without taking care of other people can be critical to…
/r/PurplePillDebate02/10/23 02:05 PM

So wanting to workout alone is “sabotage?” Don’t more women at the gym do cardio and things that don’t need spotting?
/r/PurplePillDebate02/10/23 01:52 PM

Wait, what in the world did you “observe” in the gym that showed any of this? What actual behavior did you see? Women feel threatened by their competition (more attractive, successful, feminine women) Women feel threatened by more successful women Women root against other women Women have close friendships, but generally don’t like to bring new women into their social circle Women in the workplace distance themselves from other women, or form shallow relationships but don’t favor one another
/r/PurplePillDebate02/10/23 01:45 PM
1

but speed it up I suppose. What do you mean?
/r/PurplePillDebate02/10/23 07:13 AM

An AI boyfriend to do what? I can’t imagine anything I’d want from an AI boyfriend that I couldn’t get from a friend or family member.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/10/23 09:20 AM

How to approach, what to say, how to sell yourself, etc. I understand that. I’m asking for specifics. Give me one single example of a time your buddies huddled together to strategize after seeing a woman across the room. What was the result? What approach? What to say? How to sell himself?
/r/PurplePillDebate30/09/23 12:10 AM
54

Most women don’t use OLD much or for long, so it sounds like you’re traveling in a particular kind of crowd. None of my female friends in their 30s are going through those patterns. Almost all my friends became noticeably more confident in the 30s, not more insecure.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/09/23 12:07 AM
1

Great, give me an example of the strategy someone might develop with his buddies
/r/PurplePillDebate29/09/23 11:47 PM
1

it's in your best interest to preempt that outcome by making your move before he either notices or initiates, because then you'd still be giving him less time to rehearse and prepare. Sorry, you’re saying a guy I see at a party who then notices me has too much time to prepare and REHEARSE before asking me out at that party? You have a wild interpretation of what happens in real life.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/09/23 11:36 PM
1

But any situation where I notice him first, the initiating does not provide the benefit you described. The reason you said I should initiate does not apply to any of these situations.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/09/23 10:54 PM
1

Personally, I prefer dating men who are into me.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/09/23 10:37 PM
1

Right, so I want to be clear I know when this is relevant: Online dating: men already on their bullshit? Any man who noticed me first: already on his bullshit Any man I noticed first: does not matter who initiates So… in what situation is this relevant?
/r/PurplePillDebate29/09/23 10:36 PM
1

But what if I notice him first, observe him, and then he makes a move on me?
/r/PurplePillDebate29/09/23 10:24 PM
2

Care about what? You’re saying that the people who make the first move don’t get misled. Men usually make the first move now. So men are good at picking trustworthy women? They don’t get misled by them?
/r/PurplePillDebate29/09/23 10:14 PM

I really don’t understand what kind of situations you guys are imagining here. Let’s say I meet a guy at a party. Maybe I ask him out. Maybe he asks me out. How does that change what he wore to the party? How does that change how he acted before the move?
/r/PurplePillDebate29/09/23 10:09 PM

So men are not fooled or misled by women they make the first move on? They know who is trustworthy?

I’m not following. How am I suddenly able to see through a man’s bullshit just because I asked him out, instead of him asking me out?

If there’s a dating issue, it’s part of a larger socialization issue. Covid changed the size of peoples social circles, made people socially anxious, and limited our chance encounters going forward (remote work, etc). I’m sure someone could make a similar post about how it’s harder to get to know coworkers or make friends.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/09/23 02:52 PM

You have a lot of experience on getting YOUR sexual needs met. You don’t have much experience communicating with an equal partner or meeting a woman’s needs.

and how this behavior could rightfully be viewed negatively. Again, she is not responsible for HIS views. isn't the same as admitting responsibility that his actions caused the pipe to break in the first place. Being incompatible with someone because of their secret preferences is not committing an act of destruction. Trying to fix an issue is not the same as owning that your actions caused the issue in the first place. This doesn’t relate at all. This is like someone proposing to me and me dump…
/r/PurplePillDebate29/09/23 01:31 AM

But literally the only reason I would say such a thing is with an intent to make men feel bad. Usually the reason people are “offended” by things like this is because they’re aware that someone is actively trying to insult/irritate them, which is the offensive part, not the content. If I ran around the office saying, “You’re all going to die!” I would get reported to HR, and not because anyone thought they were immortal.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/09/23 10:50 PM

But you just had an entire exchange acknowledging that overweight “unattractive” women can have sex, relationships, kids, etc… If you believe that… what is the thing she would learn that would stop her from “deflecting” or “blaming” men for? What would she “own up to?”
/r/PurplePillDebate28/09/23 09:52 PM

But if the “facts” are not useful or valuable for the real world… why would a woman go to a forum to hear about them?
/r/PurplePillDebate28/09/23 09:29 PM

the woman above is saying the 300 pound whale is succeeding because she is attractive Literally not what she said.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/09/23 09:25 PM

But it would not be weird to say men are generally attracted to younger more attractive woman by nature. In what possible situation is that NOT a weird thing to say?
/r/PurplePillDebate28/09/23 09:22 PM

Every guy is doing that. So what?
/r/PurplePillDebate28/09/23 09:14 PM

Because there’s no reason to say any of these things other than to be antagonistic. I could scream, “most women would be more physically attracted to Ryan Gosling than the men they are actually dating and marrying” and it would be true. But in what context is that interesting or useful information? None. Well-adjusted people are gonna date and marry regardless of whether I tell them how hot Ryan Gosling is. It’s just not relevant.

Every time someone makes a post asking, “hey guys, what would you do if a woman made the first move?” A ton of guys respond and say, “I’d be thrilled! I’d give her a chance even if I otherwise wouldn’t be interested.” That’s exactly what many women are trying to avoid.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/09/23 07:30 PM

I tought you were in your 30s if you are almost 50 then I have nothing to say, that’s uncharted territory Nope. Women have actually been turning 40 and 50 for quite some time! If you mean you have no relevant person experience to draw on, that’s no different than if I were in my 30s. hope you have kids My gynecologist and I have done a lot to ensure that I won’t, thank goodness.

Thanks for keeping the gag going. I’m in the best relationship I’ve ever had, and I met him after I turned 40. The losers I dumped in my 20s are either still losers (many partnered to unlucky women), or divorced from the women who helped them get their shit together. Even if I become single again tomorrow, I won’t have any regrets about those fellas.

But few are willing to even acknowledge such men are not always born, but could also be created. It's better to wait for finished one or complain they don't exist. I guess it’s not “personal” when you question what’s better for half the population, it’s only “personal” when one of them speaks for themselves. Got it.

You are free to not want men like him and wait for perfect man, I just hope there is enough of them. People just have to take everything personally. Lololol You likely aren't even in the same country so how could you? You think men like your friend only exist in your country? I guarantee there are a bunch of underemployed stoners living with their mommies in my country too.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/09/23 06:18 PM

Oh, every single man who got married and had a baby built modern society? Because they had no choice? That’s a take.

Yes, there are risks both ways. A women could date a “loser,” and he could change for the better, or he stay the same or change for the worse. A women could choose not to date the “loser,” and end up with someone who has demonstrated similar values and priorities, or she could stay single. Most single women I know have tried to date the loser hoping for the best, and in the end, wished they had stayed single instead. So they’ve decided they’d rather risk being single than risk dating someone who…
/r/PurplePillDebate28/09/23 06:09 PM

1) That is not THE alternative. Plenty of women have taken a chance on a man who has zero interest in being productive, to watch him stay exactly the same in a relationship. 2) If she got into a wonderful relationship with someone else, she would not have missed out on anything. Your friend’s girlfriend may have met another man she liked just as much who didn’t live at his parents house.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/09/23 05:57 PM

Women literally weren’t allowed to have most of the kinds of jobs that “built modern civilization” until recently. Of course the majority were men. Everyone faced enormous pressure to get married, and birth control did not exist. Of course most of those men were married with kids. Absolutely none of this speaks to cause and effect, or motivations.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/09/23 05:35 PM
6

I’ll rephrase. I can’t imagine falling in love with anyone (or being compatible with anyone) who had so little internal motivation as your friend, or the millions of other men underemployed stoners who live in their parents basements. I didn’t need the expectations of a boyfriend to convince me to contribute to society or want experiences off of my parents couch.

Yeah, and I think there’s a huge difference between “This person and I would not be a good fit for a long-term relationship, but I bet we could have some fun together,” and “I don’t really like them, but would fuck them.”
/r/PurplePillDebate28/09/23 05:03 PM

Creepy behavior is escalating when there isn’t reciprocity. There’s less opportunity to have creepy behavior if others are usually reciprocating. But it’s still the behavior that makes it creepy. If Henry Cavill started mass texting sweet nothings to a straight dude without welcome, it would be creepy. If Henry Cavill started mass texted sweet nothings to a married woman without welcome, it would be creepy.

/r/PurplePillDebate28/09/23 04:15 PM

But you are pretending that women do not evaluate a man’s work when choosing who to date, marry, or have kids with. That is false. Edit to add: It is true that women also fall for men who don’t work hard. But they often dump these lazy guys. So they end up in your group of single men who don’t work hard, but not because they never had a girlfriend.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/09/23 04:05 PM

I can’t imagine falling in love with, or being compatible with, a man who has no internal motivation and would choose to waste his one short life on earth.

some women would make you think the average woman today is being harassed whenever she leaves her apartment. What zoomers do isn’t the deciding factor of whether women are harassed in public. Since I became a teenager, I’ve been harassed by men from their teens to their 80s. “Dirty old man” is a cliche for a reason. Young men could stop talking to women entirely, completely disappear off the planet, and young women will still experience harassment.

She should take responsibility that many people who want relationships will not find it attractive Responsibility?!? I have no idea what you imagine that word means. No, she does need to take “responsibility” for anyone else’s relationship preferences.

The context is that you went out on a second date with someone who wasn’t your girlfriend and fucked her. That’s the context in which the sex occurred.

Sex on the second date is readily. Sex without a relationship is casual.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/09/23 10:34 PM

If you fucked someone you barely knew without having any relationship discussion, but don’t think it was casual because you were looking for a relationship.., you’re the one being dishonest.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/09/23 10:33 PM

Of course. You had casual sex with someone on a second date. She could have declined the third dates. The sex doesn’t become retroactively serious because she didn’t.

Having sex with randos on first dates with zero discussion about relationship expectations is basically the definition of philandering.

And if I find out a sexual partner is screwing other people, they don't get to decide whether I stick around. Lol, yeah, that sounds like a great plan. Do like this guy, and fuck women on the first date, keep fucking them without making them your girlfriend, then act surprised when no one else takes sex as seriously as you! Then dump them and move on to fucking the next girl. Continue to complain about women wanting to fuck so many people! Definitely better than setting and communicating a bound…

No, you have decided that sexually exclusivity is a super special unique thing that someone gets to randomly and unilaterally decide for another person without their agreement or consent, and then throw a fit when other people don’t live up to their imaginary rules. It’s not. The same way you don’t get to decide that someone will have sex with you, you don’t get to decide that they’re you’re girlfriend.

But the girl is equally responsible for not disclosing, and then finding out later (to her dismay) that it was a deal breaker. Of course she’s not responsible for his unspoken expectations or emotions around it!!! Let’s say my boyfriend believes that women in relationships should not spend time with other men, but doesn’t tell me that. Going to college does not increase your chances of being sexually assaulted. Young women who do not go to college are sexually assaulted at the same (or slightly higher) rates than women in college. That doesn’t mean it isn’t a huge problem, just that staying away from campus doesn’t fix the problem. But also, the vast majority of women in college never set foot in a frat party, so that’s a weird thing to focus on. There are plenty of other ways to socialize.

If we assume that men don't love women as much, it goes against certain widely cited statistics on impact of breakups and divorces on men. There’s a huge difference between loving a person and hating a lack of access to sex and companionship. My ex-boyfriends who have been the most miserable after our breakups were often the ones who were the most unkind and uncaring during the relationship. Disliking being single is not a measure of having loved your ex.

Most men don’t want to hear it but I think the dude would assume she’s an honest person if she’s admitting to him that she has a past to him. A “past” as opposed to what? Being a virgin? The question is why has perfect checks all boxes become the standard? Don’t know where you’re getting that from. 75% of people get married by 40. More live with partners long-term. It’s not because they found perfection. Why are so many saying they'd rather be single than compromise at all? Might be the people you are around. I know a lot of people who have chosen to be single in the short or long-term, and this isn’t why. I think I know one single person who feels this way.

Who is denying reality? Most adults understand that getting anything in life that checks all your boxes and makes you happy is almost impossibly rare. Whether it’s a spouse and coparent, a job, a place to live, literally anything. People choose between imperfect options constantly. Some are able to be grateful for what they have, and the fact that they were able to make a choice. This isn’t just about relationships and wasn’t different before the sexual revolution.

Rape is a type of sexual assault, it is not a synonym of sexual assault. These are all unique metrics that are not interchangeable: Women commit X% of sexual assault against men. Women commit X% of rape against men. Women commit X% of rape against men where the man is made to penetrate.

When you have to schedule interactions with a stranger, every one is a decision point. You are constantly evaluating whether the connection is worth going out of your way to cultivate.

Absolutely not.

The women that OP is talking about are lonely. They want a relationship because they're lonely. The women OP is talking about know that you can be much lonelier in a relationship than out of one. That is why they value their standards more important than being in a relationship. The problem is that being independently wealthy isn't a qualification for the CEO position. No one imagined otherwise. This is not a problem, much less a reason to be a sanitation worker when you don't need a paycheck. a…

/r/PurplePillDebate26/08/23 11:39 AM

Note that I am strictly speaking about women who want relationships here. Because you are oversimplifying the motivation. Wanting a relationship is like wanting a new job, when you’re independently wealthy. You’re not going to apply to be a sanitation worker. People with life experience know the difference between wanting any relationship, and wanting a relationship that makes your life better.

Better understanding compared to what? If if your goal is to find someone who demonstrates the same values as you by going to the gym 5 days a week, why wouldn’t you ask that?? Someone who weighs 120 could never set foot in a gym, and someone who weighs 190 could be lifting weights every day.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/08/23 02:09 PM

Exactly. You saw this woman in person and knew her body type, but could not guess her weight within 25%.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/08/23 02:02 PM

Someone posts only face shots and you can't tell weight And two people can have the exact same weight, but different body types depending on their height, muscle mass, and boobs. Weight does not tell you the shape of their body.

It's kind of ironic, because these issues that men face don't seem to matter to society until it affects women, and then we have to address that so women aren't affected, but there's basically no care or thought given to the fact that men are being affected by these issues in the first place. I used to take more initiative, but the result was finding myself in relationships with men who did not really want to be with me especially in the long-term, but were too afraid of being single in the short-term to break up with me (or be fully transparent). Because it’s generally harder for men to access sex and relationships, they are more likely to be responsive even when they know it isn’t a good fit (because they are looking for a different kind of partner, lifestyle, etc).

I don’t need to believe in glow-ups. I’m a person in society, so I know people who already look the way people hope to look after a glow-up. And these hot people still get romantically rejected by friends. And those friends are still perfectly capable of dating, despite rejecting a hot friend! And your thought process is that every single person is capable of physically “glowing up” in a way that every single other person capable of dating will be sexually attracted to them? And I’m sincerely asking you why in the world you would believe that! What possible experience or observations would suggest that?? You don’t know a single person in a relationship who rejected a conventionally good-looking friend?
/r/PurplePillDebate17/06/23 12:52 AM

if you are good friends that’s already half the relationship equation Are your friendships and romantic relationships the same?? Then the only answer left if they still reject you later is it’s them, meaning your friend is terrible at dating/relationships. What?

There are plenty of people with demanding careers who prefer to date people who are less ambitious, because they have the flexibility to take on more unpaid work (household management, picking the kids up from school) or the flexibility to help the high earner enjoy their wages (can go on vacation with less notice/join for work travel). You have to be joking. Childcare costs for young kids are often higher than one person’s salary. There are many cases where both parents cannot afford to work. You are clearly very ignorant about the many factors impacting couples and parents. It is incredibly arrogant of you to decide that other people are making incorrect decisions about things you are uninformed about.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/05/23 03:57 PM

Marriage does not guarantee anything of that exclusively. ? Social security benefits can be totally individual. And for people who spent time doing unpaid labor, like raising kids, they can be ZERO. Unless they were MARRIED.

I just don't understand where you are going. You made a post asking if there could ever be high pairing rates, long relationships, and sexual monogamy without economic coercion. While what do you bring to the table is weirdly phrased , someone should be able to answer, even with a friendship. A marriage even more so That isn’t the question though. I’m able to answer a lot of questions that I would be offended to be asked.

/r/PurplePillDebate17/05/23 10:23 AM

My friends certainly expect me to bring things to the table- reliability, commitments of time, empathy, etc.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/05/23 10:15 AM

The post isn’t about caring about things, it’s about asking a specific question.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/05/23 10:12 AM

Then I don’t understand your comment about friendship vs. romantic relationship. You don’t think it’s normal to ask questions of people you might want to be friends with?
/r/PurplePillDebate17/05/23 10:04 AM

What does that have to do with how you learn about someone? There are things that are important to me about potential friends, so I ask about those things. There are things that are important to me about potential romantic partners, so I ask about those things. It’s normal to want to get to know things about someone you’re considering bringing into your life. It’s not normal to demand their elevator speech about their personal brand.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/05/23 09:58 AM

I don’t understand what you mean. Dating IS the opportunity for a relationship to develop over time. I see people taking a lot longer to “become official” now than in recent history.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/05/23 09:32 AM

If you don’t care whether people understand you, just stop commenting.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/05/23 09:02 AM

Did you even read the comment you replied to?
/r/PurplePillDebate17/05/23 08:52 AM

What does that have to do with this post?
/r/PurplePillDebate17/05/23 08:43 AM

I guess I’m not getting your point. It’s normal to think someone is funny, and appreciate the joy they bring to your life. It’s not normal to ask someone, “Will I find you funny?”
/r/PurplePillDebate17/05/23 08:05 AM

How does this relate to the comment you replied to?
/r/PurplePillDebate17/05/23 07:57 AM

No man ever gets to show how loyal or emotionally available he is without already checking a requirements list. Do you have a history of getting into relationships with women who demonstrate absolutely zero positive qualities, and then giving them a chance to show loyalty over time? What does that even look like??
/r/PurplePillDebate17/05/23 07:20 AM

Imagine meeting a new person at a party that you might consider being friends with, and asking them “what would you bring to the table as a friend?” Anyone who has ever successfully interacted with other humans in a non-transactional way knows this isn’t appropriate behavior. If you think something is important to know about another person, ask about the thing you care about (career, etc).
/r/PurplePillDebate17/05/23 06:09 AM

My post was about finding the one long successful relationship. Not finding a series of ones that fail. That’s weird, your post says it’s about men and women being happier, not being in a long-term relationship. Not everyone online is looking for what you’ve decided they should be looking for. Not every relationship ending is a “failure” for the relationship or anyone in it.

It turns out the group with more flavors to choose from were unhappier and regretted their choice than the group with less choices. EVERYONE in the group with more choices was less happy than EVERYONE in the group with fewer choices? I highly doubt that.

…do you not understand that HIV, herpes, and HPV are different things? Condoms do not stop men from getting herpes. A man who fucks other people can give his girlfriend herpes.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/05/23 10:29 PM
1

Condoms significantly reduce the risk of transmission of most STIs But an OnlyFans account of someone masturbating has zero risk of all STDs. And that’s why they’re not the same. Condoms don’t stop herpes. Condoms don’t stop HPV. Testing is limited or unreliable.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/05/23 10:22 PM
2

So you are that ignorant. It can take months for herpes or even an HIV infection to show up in a test. There’s literally no approved HPV test for men. What’s the plan here? The boyfriend wants to fuck a random lady, so he asks random lady to take an HIV test… then be CELIBATE for MONTHS just so she can fuck a guy with a girlfriend?? Then the boyfriend is CELIBATE for MONTHS till he’s sure he doesn’t have HIV before he fucks his girlfriend again? And then she can still get cancer-causing HPV from…

would say most high value men take advantage of the fact they can sleep with almost anyone. By using women for sex? Every time I use your language to ask you a question, you use different language to respond, and I’m not sure whether we’re talking about the same thing. Do most high value men use women for sex? Would most men use women for sex if they have the opportunity?

Are only the manipulative narcissists using less attractive women for sex, or are all high value men doing that?
/r/PurplePillDebate13/04/23 01:26 AM

What does that have to do with your post though? Are women fixating on 10s, high value men, or manipulative narcissists? Or are these the same people? women are attracted to confident men who approach them first and smooth talk them Are these 10s? And 10 has nothing to do with appearance? Or are these high value men? And high value has nothing to do with appearance, status, or resources? Or are these the manipulative narcissists?

Sorry, could you reword this? I’m not following. No not at all What are you saying no to? But when the dating scene is ruled by men that think too much of them selves who smooth talk women (aka every successful pick up attempt at a bar ever) you’re going to end up with a lot of confident manipulative narcissists who get all the girls Succeeding in the dating world makes someone a narcissist? Is that what you’re saying? What is a high value man and what does narcissism have to do with high value …

Having only casual partners implies a very lonely life lacking in companionship Having a committed romantic partner has never been the deciding factor in whether I am lonely or have companionship. I’ve been deliberately single for periods of my life, and had a ton of companionship with friends, family members, community. I’ve observed the same in a lot of other people, particularly women.

I’m well aware that high value men are manipulative narcissists that lie to women Say more about this. How are you defining “high value?” Are the only men capable of becoming “high value” manipulative narcissists? Or does something about being “high value” make a man a manipulative narcissist?

Even in 2002, most people were married by 30. “The probability of first marriage by age 30 is 74% for women and 61% for men.” Even then, a lot of the people “left” weren’t looking for serious relationships, much less necessarily succeeding at having them. So there just weren’t a ton of just over 30 people who could be called a boyfriend or girlfriend. Am I missing your point? It seems obvious that people who were not boyfriends wouldn’t be called boyfriends… Source for above: https://www.cdc.gov…

Back then, nobody over the age of 30 would use the terms "dating" and "boyfriend/girlfriend" because this was your settlement phase Please specify the time periods you’re discussing. For most of history, few people would have been dating after 30 at all.

We’re talking about neurodivergent men. You say the point of dating is to determine physical attraction. You say neurodivergent behavior is part of physical appearance. Women who do not date neurodivergent men because they are not physically attractive are doing what you say they should do.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/04/23 06:31 AM

So they are judging physical appearance, which is what you say they’re supposed to do, but call them superficial for doing??
/r/PurplePillDebate11/04/23 02:33 AM

Are you saying that BEHAVIOR isn’t part of personality??
/r/PurplePillDebate11/04/23 02:11 AM

You’re saying that women can’t judge personality in early dating. But also that women consistently weed out neurodivergent men in early dating… You’re saying that women are superficial in early dating. Because they weed out men on things that aren’t just physical appearance… You get how none of this makes sense, right?
/r/PurplePillDebate11/04/23 02:05 AM

The purpose of early dating is to find people you’re physically attracted to and women are superficial for doing that? Or superficial for not doing that?

It’s not necessary to judge someone as a person to judge that they won’t be a positive force in your life. Those are two different activities. I don’t “take harder stances on the behavior of other women or men.” But I’m picky as hell about who I spend my time with.

This conversation is about victims of crimes, and whether they should be able to report those crimes even if there isn’t enough other evidence to convict, or they choose not to participate in criminal proceedings. If someone sexual assaults me, but my statement is the only evidence, do you have a problem with me reporting the crime? Is your answer different for other crimes? Such as someone breaking into my home while I’m there?
/r/PurplePillDebate07/04/23 01:57 AM

And that makes you unable to answer the question? I’m not following.

/r/PurplePillDebate06/04/23 09:38 PM

So, I think the problem is women are not vetting on character enough. Why? I’m not aware of any other relationship type that has a great track record. People fall out with life-long friends after growing up with them. Someone who is mindlessly and automatically selfless with people they do not know will not be able to prioritize their partners. To share a life, a home, and finances with someone, they NEED to be able to say no to others.

This can’t be simplified this way. A lot of guys who think they are “selfless” are actually manipulative. A lot of guys you might think of as “selfish” just have appropriate boundaries. Being mindlessly “selfless” with people you do not even have a relationship with is actually BAD! Similarly, the opposite of “low self-control/inhibition” isn’t necessarily self-control, but neuroticism and paralyzing indecision. Which is problematic in partners. If it is deem safe by doctors to have an abortion between a time frame how is there any consequence for me to wait? I’ve already told you that the risks of different complications are different at different times during the pregnancy. If you had done the smallest amount of research about the topic you decided to make sweeping claims about, you’d know that.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/03/23 02:35 PM

to say that early pregnant abortions are deemed safe enough for medical professionals isnt a incorrect statement But that’s not what you said. You said safe with no consequences to delay. Thats not a “perspective.” That’s an ignorant claim you made. /r/PurplePillDebate30/03/23 01:51 PM

You direct messaged me a link that discusses the risks of medical abortion (not surgical) during only 3 weeks of pregnancy (13-15 weeks) unsupported by in-person professions. Are you claiming those 3 weeks are the safe time to have an abortion? But not before 13 weeks?? Edit, from the study 38 (29%) reported adverse events (heavy bleeding, fever), 53 (43%) sought additional care from a health provider, and 18% of all cases received treatment with D&C/aspiration. WOW

the safe time for her to have an abortion then delying the procedure is inconsequential for her There is no “safe time.” The risk of different complications is different at different times during a pregnancy, and dependent on a woman’s other health conditions. You are being incredibly irresponsible spreading false information like this.

/r/PurplePillDebate30/03/23 01:28 AM

Your apparent insistence that both parents have to make their positions known BEFORE or AFTER pregnancy, instead of the one who does not need medical advice making his decision BEFORE and the one who does making her decision AFTER she can talk to a doctor about her pregnancy. If you agree that the man has to decide before the woman risks her body, and the woman can decide after her body is at risk, we’re on the same page.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/03/23 01:23 AM
1

if i tell him as soon as i know he has the same amount of time to make his choice as i do hasnt made a choice within a reasonable amount of time How does that not postpone someone’s choice? If my choice is to have the kid IF SUPPORTED, I’m waiting till his deadline to schedule my abortion.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/03/23 01:20 AM
1

It is not the same. A woman stating what medical procedure she’d have before medical advice is not the same as a man stating that he won’t have responsibility.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/03/23 01:17 AM
1

anyone should also have the flexibility to choice in situations where you may not know your decision till its happened “I need flexibility to postpone your ability to make an informed decision about which medical procedure happens to your body” is a bizarre understanding of “fair.”
/r/PurplePillDebate30/03/23 01:14 AM
1

Why does it matter whether the woman says she’s going to have the kid or not if the man doesn’t have to support it? If the man has the option to choose not to support future pregnancies, he doesn’t need to know whether she would abort or not.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/03/23 01:04 AM
2

WHY does his choice have to wait until you are pregnant to be fair?
/r/PurplePillDebate30/03/23 01:00 AM
2

That’s what I’m proposing. They choose whether to support kids or not. Men have all the information to make an informed choice before pregnancy. You do not. After you get pregnant, you may find that a pregnancy may damage your health. You don’t have all the information until after you become pregnant.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/03/23 12:52 AM
2

Nature creates the imbalance. The pregnancy happens inside the woman.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/03/23 12:46 AM
3

I’m not speaking of “should” or of “conversations.” We’re discussing a legal proposal. If you don’t provide documented written notice to someone that you will not support any children that result from pregnancy, you should not be able to renounce responsibility after helping to create a pregnancy.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/03/23 12:41 AM
1

Why do you believe in non-marital maternity?
/r/PurplePillDebate30/03/23 12:35 AM
3

I’d support this if the information were shared before sex, so the woman could choose not to have sex and risk pregnancy with men who won’t support their children. It would not be fair for a woman to have to choose between medical procedures because of information withheld until after she becomes pregnant.

People emphasize a social life because it’s associated with social skills that are helpful in dating: ability to talk to different kinds of people, ability to understand and anticipate women’s concerns, etc. These skills are useful whether you’re actually dating people you’ve met through your social circle, or strangers. If your goal is to find a relationship, it’s a matter of luck whether you’ll meet someone through your social life or not.

The actual consequences of your actual actions are not a sentence! The actual consequence of getting pregnant is childbirth or abortion. We are talking about the percentage of women I could potentially date And not being able to date them isn’t a measure of their quality. The percent of women who are married doesn’t make the percent of women who are unmarried of lower or higher quality.

Why would someone get legally married with the intention of violating the laws about marriage? The laws around assets are 99% the point of legal marriage. If you don’t want laws to apply to your assets, do not get married. Don’t make yourself a criminal. How does this make any sense?
/r/PurplePillDebate09/03/23 11:30 PM
12

You are conflating the general with the specific. Wanting to get laid can manifest as a general interest in women. It doesn’t mean caring about women’s wellbeing, being kind to women, wanting getting to know women… It can just mean wanting to pump and dump women. That’s not the same as liking women.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/03/23 11:18 PM

To be clear, you’re talking about a married person having separate assets that they do not disclose to their spouse AND DO NOT DISCLOSE DURING A DIVORCE? And you’re asking how we feel about a spouse doing something illegal almost everywhere??
/r/PurplePillDebate09/03/23 11:14 PM

But other people disagree that a “general interest” in humans with certain body parts is the same as liking those human beings.

Not sure how any of this is surprising given real world metrics. Men have much smaller social support networks, so romantic partners are a bigger source of support. Men also have less experience communicating about social plans and problems in relationships, since they spend less time with people. Higher rates of violence track with big emotional responses. Higher rates of alcoholism and addition track with challenges with emotional regulation. A perusal of this sub reveals a lot of anxiety and …

I hear about MGTOW and men not needing women every single day on this sub! But not needing to be in a romantic relationship with someone is not the same as disrespecting the professional contributions of any group of society. I don’t date women at all, but I sure appreciate the primary education I received from a group of 90% women. Not needing to have sex or get married is not an insult to workers.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/03/23 08:29 PM

It’s just extra true. Everyone is supported by others. If it weren’t for nurses (a job that’s about 85% women) a lot of people wouldn’t be alive to do their job.

So what? The men who aren’t working in these fields are being “subsidized” by the ones who are.

Some have been extremely high maintenance because they didn’t invest in other social support and/or couldn’t process their emotions on their own. They resented me having other interests and social plans because they did not, and they needed more emotional support to deal with normal feelings of loneliness, frustration, and anger (which often included flying off the handle for minor annoyances). Others were flaky and poor communicators. They would make commitments and change their minds. They wou…

Most men I know don’t build houses or work for a utility company. I know some women who do. If everyone with a desk job is being subsidized, a lot of men are being subsidized.

I like men a lot. I have a lot of male friends and enjoy working with men professionally. But most of my romantic relationships have been negative experiences for me. They’ve usually been very draining, and kept me from taking care of myself and pursuing things that are good for me. The costs have outweighed the benefits. I still date men, but am very very very picky about who and in what capacity. Edit to add: I very much disagree that wanting to have sex with someone means you like them.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/03/23 07:35 PM

I’ve considered guys to be “too nice” when they seem motivated to feel like they are nice instead of be kind or consistent with their supposed values. Example: You tell a guy you do not like or want something that is typically considered “nice,” but he continues to provide it “for” you. You say you don’t like chocolate, the guy sends you heart-shaped boxes of chocolate. He’s disappointed that you aren’t grateful. His friends and family tell him how nice he is for sending you chocolate. Example: …

But if “women’s spending” refers to who writes the check, it is meaningless. Women are more likely to pay utility bills because it’s a household chore.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/03/23 06:10 PM
1

But if you’ve decided that any behavior with any conscious intention and any outcome is proof of your hypothesis, it’s meaningless. “I became a logger because it’s the best pay I could get and I want to have a family.” Procreation! “I became a logger because I’m a risk-taker who doesn’t dare if I die tomorrow. But my labor benefits others.” Procreation!
/r/PurplePillDebate09/03/23 06:08 PM

If a woman goes to the store to buy diapers, is that “women’s spending?”
/r/PurplePillDebate09/03/23 06:01 PM

And all of that would benefit you indirectly just as much as a woman. I work a desk job, and my roof doesn’t keep me any drier than you because I have a vagina.

Why is it the best gig they can find?
/r/PurplePillDebate09/03/23 05:30 PM

Yes, a reason people consider the worst jobs is because they can’t consider the better jobs because of class issues, like inadequate access to nutrition. People like you indirectly benefit from having an under-resourced group of people that keep their bubble in infrastructure and civilization.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/03/23 05:29 PM

Any why is that?
/r/PurplePillDebate09/03/23 05:20 PM

I did not say that software developers are smart. But you said they’re smarter than others. “Not everyone is as smart for those jobs.” How did you get that way?
/r/PurplePillDebate09/03/23 05:20 PM

And you would describe roofing, a job that pays less than average, as a career than men choose in order to be with women?
/r/PurplePillDebate09/03/23 05:17 PM
1

That’s a really long way to say you have no sources. A lot of people in this world do the bare minimum. Not all of them were capable of doing more. A lot of guys live in empty rooms with a mattress on the floor. I don’t know how many could have had anything different. Being on your own doesn’t mean you went your own way.

Because the impacts of being motivated by procreation are not the same as being motivated by procreation. You could say that people’s will to survive is a function of their motivation to procreate. But people will clearly choose to survive at the expense of procreation. Whether you’re a man in ancient China choosing to self-castrate to work in the palace, or a woman having a hysterectomy to prevent potential cancer return, people make choices that are not motivated by procreation.

To be clear, you’re not saying they became roofers in order to succeed with women, which is what OP is claiming.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/03/23 03:42 PM

Whose logic? OP clearly says they do the worst jobs because they’re horny. Not that they’re horny because they do the worst jobs.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/03/23 03:29 PM

So the argument is that guys are so horny that they choose a job… where they have almost no access to women except for sex workers?
/r/PurplePillDebate09/03/23 03:23 PM

They are not accepting less, they just want less. Because they’re choosing to focus on themselves. There’s no conflict with feminism there. The guy wanting more would be an undesirable outcome.

The majority of women have never heard of Men’s Day.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/03/23 06:51 PM

But anyone in a monogamous relationship isn’t getting much “sex,” according to this analysis.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/03/23 03:41 AM

The post does make it very clear that your analysis is misrepresenting the data.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/03/23 03:27 AM
1

Misrepresenting duplicate records as unique records is manipulating the data. Misrepresenting partners as sex is manipulating the data.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/03/23 03:19 AM
1

Are you still defending this garbage? Please take a statistics class.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/03/23 03:16 AM
2

So why the fuck would you make a conclusion about the distribution?!?! It’s not obvious that this data would follow an approximate Pareto distribution. This is so embarrassing.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/03/23 02:50 AM
2

You did not analyze the distribution. Your conclusions about the distribution are unfounded. I would have failed high school statistics with this.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/03/23 02:46 AM
3

I know that. That was your mistake. Jesus Christ. Let’s say 1% of people are murderers. If I group all people into 5ths, guess what: 100% of murders are committed by the top 20% of people!!! Holy shit!!! Does that mean the top 20% are murders? Nooooooo!!!! It does not! Choosing to divide the data into 20/80 just makes sure you cannot see whether it has a Pareto distribution! Instead of confirming Pareto, you made it impossible to confirm or conflict with it.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/03/23 02:34 AM
2

And your analysis doesn’t show that either! The top 5% could have almost all of the sex with almost all of the partners. Your decision to group the top 20% together before looking at the actual data means you have no idea if there’s a pattern to the top 20%.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/03/23 02:26 AM
7

Literally what “the results” are saying IS a misinterpretation.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/03/23 02:21 AM
3

“People who have sex have sex” is in fact meaningless.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/03/23 02:19 AM
4

The “findings” have no meaning. The other 80% could exclusively contain men who are in monogamous relationships and men who are not seeking sex. The 20% could contain all men who are single and trying to have sex. Nothing in this analysis demonstrates otherwise.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/03/23 02:12 AM
5

If you mean to reinforce preconceived notions without the distraction of any actual information, I’m sure you’re doing a great job.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/03/23 02:09 AM
4

It’s not clear, because it isn’t a percent of the sex partners either!
/r/PurplePillDebate06/03/23 02:04 AM
5

Yes, I’m abundantly aware that your “research” uses terms to mean the opposite of their actual meaning. That’s why both your methods and conclusions are incorrect.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/03/23 02:03 AM
6

Literally your title: “The top 20% of young men are having 84% of the SEX”
/r/PurplePillDebate06/03/23 01:58 AM
6

Again, no. You are free to say “the top 20% had an average of ___ unique sexual partners in ___ time period.” But you are not free to divide that among a total of sexual partners from multiple groups, because the sexual partners ARE NOT UNIQUE. They are duplicative. That is flawed data analysis.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/03/23 01:57 AM
4

That is the opposite of what unique means in data analysis. So neither of these is true: The top 20% of young men are having 84% of the sex 84% of all unique female sexual partners were going to 20% of men.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/03/23 01:40 AM
2

Unique sex partners? That makes zero sense. If I have sex with a 20% guy, and an 80% guy, where does my “unique” record go? Or 5 different 20% guys?
/r/PurplePillDebate06/03/23 01:31 AM
0

Of course not. That’s why you can’t compare people you’ve chosen to have in your life to strangers you went on one bad date with. One group is vetted and selected. The other is largely random and rejected. It doesn’t mean anything about the general population. If all of your friends are soccer players, and your dates are not, you can’t conclude that soccer players are just better people than swimmers. On top of that, many people treat their friends well, and their dates poorly. The fact that som…

But working and being a breadwinner is still considered “more” of a man’s job, and you feel that’s irrelevant. Men are more likely to be in the workforce and make more money. So who cares who gardens “more?”
/r/PurplePillDebate25/02/23 11:56 PM
7

Yes, and those other roles are no longer gendered because people of both genders do and don’t do them. So no one is taking on the roles of another gender by doing them.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/02/23 11:35 PM
4

that role is no longer an exclusive male role. What is exclusively a female role?
/r/PurplePillDebate25/02/23 11:28 PM
7

Women being expected to work and provide for the family: Shrug, totally irrelevant! Men being expected to clean up after themselves: WHOA!! Now that’s an issue!
/r/PurplePillDebate25/02/23 11:19 PM
11

And now everyone is expected to do dishes and laundry, so it’s no longer a female role. If I’m not taking on a male role by working for food and shelter, men aren’t taking on a female role by cleaning.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/02/23 11:07 PM
6

OK, so men used to hunt and maintain livestock to put food on the table. Then most men stopped doing that male task. They started working for money to “bring home the bacon,” paying others to do the task. Are you saying that men working to provide food for their family is not masculine? Providing for your family using money is not a traditionally male task?
/r/PurplePillDebate25/02/23 10:49 PM
9

Because working outside the home for money isn’t a traditionally male task?
/r/PurplePillDebate25/02/23 10:44 PM
5

The result is still that women aren't doing traditional male tasks. How is working to buy and repair a home not a traditionally male task? Is that a traditionally female task?
/r/PurplePillDebate25/02/23 10:30 PM
11

traditional male tasks (fix the roof, change the oil in the car, chase burglars, ...) I know about the same percentage of men and women who do these things. But almost everyone I know pays people to do “traditionally male tasks.” I’m a woman who owns my own house. I paid people to replace the roof. My boyfriend would do the same thing at his house. We’d do the same thing if we moved in together. But there would still be dirty dishes.

/r/PurplePillDebate25/02/23 09:47 PM

How does this relate to the post?
/r/PurplePillDebate25/02/23 05:27 PM

And some people get married and stay married. Having romantic options =/= taking advantage of all the options. What point do you think you’re making?
/r/PurplePillDebate25/02/23 05:24 PM

And other people know how to use condoms. Having romantic options =/= having kids.

/r/PurplePillDebate25/02/23 12:00 AM

There are plenty of people who stand up dates (not showing up) because they have too much anxiety or low self-confidence.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/02/23 11:54 PM
2

the only guys who can afford to do that are hot ones ?
/r/PurplePillDebate24/02/23 11:44 PM
11

So hot men who are nice don’t have options? Ryan Gosling would be able to get laid unless he’s a jerk?
/r/PurplePillDebate24/02/23 11:20 PM
34

I’m with you. If all men with “options” are assholes, it just means that all men are assholes at heart, but most can’t get away with acting on it or they’ll be lonely and sexless. Even if men are only assholes to women “below their league,” it speaks to their inherent lack of character. How you treat people reflects who you are, not how fat your date is.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/02/23 10:55 PM
5

Leaving a romantic relationship =/= turning off feelings. The decision to be in a relationship is distinct from the feelings you have for the person.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/02/23 09:27 PM
9

I have refuted it. The common assumption is that because women don’t stay in relationships that are bad for them, they must not love unconditionally. But the decision to leave a relationship is distinct from the feelings you have for a person. I have unconditional love for a number of people. I’m only in a romantic partnership with one of them.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/02/23 09:26 PM
97

Love, a feeling, can be unconditional. Relationships should not be unconditional. Even cynics typically believe you can love pets and children unconditionally. But when your dog gets rabies, you put it down. If your child becomes a meth addict and refuses rehab, you cut contact until there’s hope for change. I’ve loved exes unconditionally, but walked away from relationships that are unsafe for me.

/r/PurplePillDebate21/02/23 02:30 AM
2

That is not the same thing. Fine being single =/= not wanting a relationship. I can decide that I’m only willing to consider having a python as a pet. Maybe I live somewhere that prohibits having a python as a pet. That doesn’t mean I don’t want a pet. But it doesn’t mean I have to get a cat either. I can decide I’d rather be pet-less than have a cat. And people can decide to be single instead of lowering their standards. That’s not the same as not wanting a relationship with someone who does me…
/r/PurplePillDebate17/02/23 04:44 AM
16

Nope, it’s OK to have unattainable standards as long as you’re fine being single. No one is required to be in a relationship, so they are not required to have standards that can be met.

Multiple texts from your siblings, friends who are girls, You think siblings only text each other if they’re hot women? Only hot women have same sex friends? This entire thing says a lot more about you than anyone else.

I’m having trouble understanding the situation you’re describing. Who do you imagine knows who I fuck and gets to have an opinion about it? Who am I cheating out of the right to judge my sex life?

It’s not just politeness, it’s privacy. No one else is entitled to know what I do and don’t find sexually attractive. That’s private information I can choose to share under the appropriate circumstances. When my coworker asks “How are you?” I don’t tell him the details of my period cramps. Not all information is for everyone. It’s not just politeness, but boundaries.

/r/PurplePillDebate09/02/23 07:39 AM

Why exercise them at some point? If he loves sex more than anything else and is forced by his body to be promiscuous, how and why would he ever not exercise his options? If you ever say no to sex you’d, your body isn’t forcing you to be promiscuous.

Which gender pays more child support? Whichever takes care of their kid less. Which gender receives more welfare for being single parent? Whichever takes care of their kid more.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/02/23 04:47 PM

I’m not aware of any jurisdiction that requires child support payments during pregnancy. After birth, women can walk out the door on their two legs just like men. Women who are not custodial parents are required to pay child support. The laws aren’t gendered.

Child support laws apply to both genders.

Who said anything about shaming women? It’s a quote from your post. You're paying for a safety net, I'm paying for nothing. I’m not capable of procreating. Are you?
/r/PurplePillDebate06/02/23 10:38 PM
2

rather than the mother be shamed for having a child she couldn't afford to take care of? You want women to be shamed (but not men) and think that’s equality. If you think other people not taking care of you is "social punishment" you might be entitled. Again, I’m childless and pay taxes for other peoples kids because they can’t support them.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/02/23 10:16 PM
9

And that's the beauty of my point! The point is no one other than the two individuals should pay for it! Are you forgetting that you said societal consequences for one of those people would be “equality?” Your post doesn’t advocate for “hands off.” That wasn’t your point. Your post advocates for social punishment of one gender for the consequences of mistakes made by both genders. That is not equality.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/02/23 04:48 AM
10

So what? It’s his choice whether to pay for his own fucking kid so I don’t have to. The existence of the child is not the issue here, the expense of the child is. Man: Impregnates a woman who doesn’t abort. Woman: Gets pregnant by a man who doesn’t support his kid. Each makes a “mistake” that could be solved by the other person, who could keep the mistake from increasing my taxes. Both failed. No reason for me to be more resentful of one than the other.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/02/23 04:35 AM
3

No connection to our exchange. Kids hypothetically having no societal value has zero impact on whether shaming one gender for a mistake of both genders is “equality.” “Pumping and dumping” is a selfish act that increases my tax burden! Speeding doesn’t have societal value. That doesn’t make it “equality” to only give traffic tickets to men.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/02/23 04:22 AM
31

And you’re claiming that shaming the only person taking any responsibility would be “equality.” I’m pointing out how stupid that is.

40

why should an unrelated man be expected to pay for said child that he doesn't care about rather than the mother be shamed for having a child she couldn't afford to take care of? Only shaming one half of a couple that makes a child is not “equality.” A man who impregnates a woman with a child he can’t afford is also making a “mistake” the rest of us are paying for. Women pay taxes too. I’m a childless and childfree woman that pays more taxes for the public school system than the average working m…

How is wanting different things at different points in your life “backtracking” or “flip flopping” on your values? A person getting a job after college isn’t backtracking on valuing education. A person retiring at 65 isn’t backtracking on working. Having children when you’re ready isn’t backtracking on not having kids before you’re ready.

STDs aren’t a social construct. If you don’t want to be exclusive, don’t agree to be exclusive (and don’t ask another person to be exclusive with you). If you don’t want to be married, don’t get married.

You’ve now described both genders seeking achievement for social reward, then burning out/giving up when it’s unrewarding… and you’ve decided this means men are “driven” and women are not. That does not make any sense.

You deal with the lack of resources. He deals with the corporation/client/boss. So what? You made a false distinction between being “at the mercy of” a corporation/client/ boss and being at the mercy of a husband. If my husband’s boss can make ME homeless, I’m sure as shit at their mercy! Working means being at the mercy of the employment market. Relying on a working husband means being at the mercy of the employment market AND a husband.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/12/22 04:03 AM
5

Divorcing is easy. Division of assets is a pain. You may have a personal definition of divorce that is unique to you, and foreign to everyone else who lives on this planet. Of course. But you don't have to deal with them. If a corporation decides to fire my husband, the only wage earner in my family, I very much have to “deal with” it.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/12/22 03:49 AM
4

That wasn’t the comparison. Switching husbands means initiating and completing a DIVORCE AND MARRYING a new husband. For most of US history, women were not guaranteed the right to do the former at all. It isn’t exactly effortless now, especially if your ex isn’t cooperating. Most people can find a job with less effort. Regarding the rest of the comment, if working means being dependent on a corporation/boss/client, depending on someone working is still being dependent on a corporation/boss/clien…

People meet others alone such as for hookup situations all the time. If most women have only met <10 strangers for hookups in their entire lives, they have not done it “all the time” and have had much less exposure than with men they know. No but they meet more strangers in terms of numbers If you’re talking about all strangers, not the ones invited to a woman’s home, we’re back to pretending to be surprised that women aren’t raped in line at Starbucks.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/12/22 11:05 PM
9

Why do you believe that the average woman has had sex at home with more complete strangers than known male guests at her home? Let’s say the average woman has 10 total sexual partners (which is TWICE what CDC surveys suggest). Let’s say 8 of them were hookups at home with complete strangers. Why not! You’re truly saying that the average woman has not had EIGHT boyfriends, male friends, acquaintances, and male relatives in her home? Total, ever??
/r/PurplePillDebate26/12/22 10:55 PM
12

“All the time” COMPARED TO WHAT? Are you trying to tell me that women spend more total time in their home with complete strangers than with people they have met before?
/r/PurplePillDebate26/12/22 10:42 PM
20

Women meet strangers all the time IN PUBLIC. Neither strangers nor people I know are sexually assaulting me in Starbucks.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/12/22 10:30 PM
37

This is massively stupid. You are more likely to be sexually assaulted by the people who have the opportunity to sexually assault you. People you know are more likely to be alone with you your home, in their home, in cars, etc. There is zero reason to believe that strangers would be less likely to assault you if you gave them the same amount of opportunity.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/12/22 10:25 PM
34

This is still a step away from the difference. Most sexual interactions are physically enjoyable for men. Men are more likely to have orgasms, and less likely to be in pain. Many sexual interactions are not enjoyable for women. Women are less likely to experience pleasure, and more likely to experience pain (in addition to the many other unequal risks like pregnancy, worse std effects, sexual violence, and stigma). Men and women make rational choices to increase positive experiences and avoid ne…
