Heading back for more work on my tattoo this Saturday. Super excited.

I agree with this.

Why improve my situation when I can just lay in bed and blame women?

100%. It’s that simple.

When Sunday comes, I’ll be asking if all of you worked out this week. Go get it in. 💪🏾
/r/PurplePillDebate04/01/24 05:56 PM

I personally don't think it's a bad thing. Both people should focus on/prioritize looks, especially when choosing a mate you may spend long amounts of time with.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/01/24 12:10 AM

All completely fair points.

I saw the thread about if any of our beliefs have changed/been affirmed since being here. I'd say I can acknowledge a few things. To balance this out, I'll weigh things evenly for both genders: Observations towards women: - A lot of average women do get looked over/ignored in favor of the hot ones. - If 'Alpha Widow' is a thing, then so is 'Stacy Widow'. I know several 20's/30's+ dudes who have success with one hot chick and now simply can't see themselves with anything lesser than. - When women…

I’ve seen those situations before and what I notice is that there’s almost always an enabler involved. As in no one to shake them up and hold them accountable to their personal health. Along with taking out all of their feelings/issues through food. I think a mixture of excessive comfort/ pain avoidance brings overweight human beings.

Routine reminder that no one is forcing you to be in a relationship with a woman who isn’t hot for you. Also, you’re worth a damn, so be kind to yourself.

I normally would do the shakes because they’re faster, but I’d feel weaker. Food is definitely making a huge difference.

Looking forward to tomorrow's workout and building up the 🍑 Also, food is >>> protein shakes (at least for me). My muscles are soaking up the nutrients like a sponge.

Q4All: If you could have a second boyfriend/girlfriend//husband etc. would you do it? Yes or No? Let's say both of them would be 100% fine with the setup, exactly what you like, no jealousy problems, don't care how you sort your time between them, etc. (Note: This quesiton is for fun only. Please answer the question directly, and don't take seriously.)

How I imagine a betabuxx marriage: Wife: “Alright, me and my boyfriend Chad McChadderson are off to the baseball game. Might get my back blown out later. Who knows.” Husband: “Have fun! I left $500 on the counter to cover tickets and dinner for the both of you. I’ll have a warm bath ready when you’re back home 😍” In other words, I just don’t think this a problem in 99.99% of relationships lol.

I totally get that. That's why I'd recommend using a place like Meetup.com. It already has the foot traffic and people looking for things going on in your area. It helps you speed up this process very fast. Otherwise, you'll definitely have to get more involved in other groups/communities in your area and do a lot more connecting that way. I recommend using the first option to give yourself better/quicker traction. Also, it doesn't have to be 30. Even the first 2, 5, 10 is a huge win. You'd be s…

This would be a lot to type out but I can give you the gist of it. Decide on the type of community you want to build Go where the traffic is. This brings the volume to you, instead of you desperately trying to find people. I think Meetup is vastly underrated for this. Gets tons of inbound traffic and sorts people by interest. Give your group structure. Think about the purpose your group will serve and add that to your group description. Your community will thank you for this. Create a Townhall f…

It’s gotten me a few dates I’d say, and a lot of people come up to talk to me. It can be a lot of fun. I also make it a priority to be a great host. I check in on people, make sure they’re having a good time and try to make everyone feel welcome. The exchange is that it can be hard to build deep connections with people because I’m running everywhere. It can be tiresome at times. With that said, I love hosting, and gathering people to have a great time. My goal is to get to a point where I can th…

I’m a fan of more input-oriented goals because they give you increased odds of getting the outcome you want. I’m also a fan of starting small. Like for example, if losing virginity is one, what if instead we focused on dates being the goal? Then from there, think about the inputs required to get a date. For example, if you use apps, then there are a few things it could be, such as: learning how to take nice pics finding your style/archetype having a few casual convos a week & learning how to ext…

Anyone else doing any journaling/self-reflection this time of year? It would be sweet to build up a rolodex of delicious grub I can make. - I've been thinking of starting a biz for a long time, and I haven't done it. The fact I still think about it this long m…

Is it really this common for adult men to not clean after themselves and let their partner do the work? I'm surprised more people just don't pitch in and hire a maid to help clean - especially since most people don't like doing chores at all.

Hey my friend, I'm in my 30's. At your age is where I began to go through the worst of it. If I had the ability to figure out a way to change things sooner, I definitely would have. So my insight to you would be this: Get yourself in the gym 3-5 times a week, a face/beard/skincare routine. Start watching your calories. Take a multivitamin, etc. Make this mandatory. You NEED to take care of yourself so that you can start reinforcing the idea that you matter. No one else will take care of you like…

I think your upbringing has more to do with this. The cold reality is that a lot of men will have a below average upbringing for one reason or another. A ton of scenarios can contribute to winding up in a place where they don't do well with women in their 20's. For example, I'm a late bloomer myself. I grew up in a household marked by a lot of abuse, isolation & depression. No dad at home as he turned me away. A lot of stuff that had nothing to do with me, but did it affect my self-esteem? Absol…

You didn't provide a rational reason why you think the # of women interested in you would be incredibly low. So I figured that thought process was coming from an emotional place. Either way, I do believe happiness is invaluable. If you are happy now, that's all that matters.

This is an extremely important point. Your environment can play a dramatic role in dating success. Everything from apps to meet up in bars. You can do everything right and still struggle a bit simply because there’s there’s way more men than women in your area. If I was a single woman looking to settle down, I’d head west where there’s a shortage of women in average and men are more likely to mate guard/commit. For the single men: If you didn’t have luck with the opposite sex growing up, there’s no point arguing with other people as to why. People don’t really connect with situations that exist outside of their paradigm. The unfortunate fact of life is that every child isn’t socialized the same way, in the same environment, and under the same circumstances. If you had a below average upbringing, it’s not your fault. All you can do is make peace with the past, and do the best you can today.

For the single gents: May you have all the great sex you can handle, workout 3-5x/week, dress as well as you can, take care of your mental health, drink some water, don't let anyone add unnecssary stress to your life, remember women get loney & horny too, read a good book, take that trip, and most importantly - be kind to yourself. You matter. Be blessed.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/12/23 03:15 AM

This is why I dislike these rage bait threads/subs like AITA. They're always based on implications & assumptions. You never get the whole story, you never get exactly what was said in the interaction, yet people still proceed to paint a caricature of the parties involved and fill in the gaps based on their past individual experiences. Why? Because they just can't help it, and they eat it up like candy. It's so instinctual it's scary.

Had a girl sent me nudes today. I idn't reply for 2 hours because I got busy. Turns out she blocked me because I didn't reply fast enough. It caught me off guard but made me chuckle. Q4W: If you sent a guy nudes and you didn't get a response from him for a few hours, would your first thought be he didn't find you attractive?

Self improvement does work for men. The real problem is accepting that it will take over 90+ days to see noticeable improvements (body, style, hobbies, etc). Since results aren’t immediate, it just gets dismissed as not worth it. Just because you don’t have a cute face doesn’t mean you’re below average in everything else. You may actually be a great story teller, musician, etc. All of those things can be attractive to women in their own way. Pride keeps most men from improving their results. Not…

So after examining a few resources, and reflecting on life experiences. I’ve concluded that my facial features are very likely below average. Given my mom’s been the one who mostly told me I’m handsome, the fact I’ve never been approached in any environment, and the volume of rejections up to this point, it’s safe to say there’s not a lot of broad appeal here. With that said, I don’t want to waddle in negativity. I’ll just accept it and focus on making the most I can out of everything else. Ther…

Just a late night musing: I do feel for some of the guys here who feel they had no shot at this dating/life stuff from the beginning simply because of their upbringing. As someone who grew up on the other side of the tracks myself, I know what that feels like. I became the man of the house at 2 years old. Mom grew up depressed. House was always a mess. Since we're on the topic of dates, I try to have mine towards the evening either near/on a weekend as much as possible. I don't really do coffee at all if I can help it. I just like to grab a drink & see where things go. I love creating as much sexual tension as I possibly can. It gives both of us time to look & smell good. Harder to do that when you have a list of appointments you gotta get to. There's something sexy/alluring about nights/evenings that mornings/afternoons can't beat.

That's just what preying on insecurities does to people. When you say "Women would rather share a chad than get monogamy from an average man" then manufacture an example of that, men pile on simply because it aligns with their fears that being average isn't being enough.

Regret is a tricky thing. It’s easy to hate yourself I’ve things that didn’t go your way in life. Maybe you didn’t have the sex/love life you wanted up to this point, or get the job you want yet, etc. That can make it easy to blame yourself and wonder what things would be like if you made different decisions. However, let’s say on a different lifeline, you did make those decisions. Maybe you would’ve had a better love/sex life in your early years. Except as we know, no life is 100% good all the …

What? I’m not a showstopper at all. I barely get a match on dating apps, and my pictures consistently rate below average (I posted my stats here before). Very much a late bloomer. You gotta fight to tell yourself a different story. As in changing things through action. For example, you may be facially unattractive (my mom was the only one who would usually call me cute growing up) but you can still lean out your face to shoe off your best features. Social anxiety can only be solved through immersion. What if you started out by just saying hi to one person a day? This isn’t incel-ish so don’t apologize. It only is when you blame women instead of looking inward. The actual …

I went outside to the gym today and saw three things I simply couldn’t believe: A 6’ 5, tatted, jacked, social man in the gym today. However, there was a problem. He was actually married?! Why would he do that when he has millions of women to choose from?? I saw a baddie with an average guy. Does the guy not know he’s probably being beta buxxed? Several average couples just existing together. None of this can be right. Who do I report this information to?

I truly think if men were more willing to let go of the past, they would give themselves room to become truly special. The time that group of women laughed at you, let it go. Those times you got rejected by every woman you asked out, let it go. The times you got teased/mocked by dudes who did much bette with women, let it go. Sadly, many of your harshest experience like these come in your formative years as you're understanding your identity. As a result, if you don't have the experience of the …

It’s not just 18-24 btw. Millennials are struggling just as bad. Almost half of men overall simply aren’t engaging with enough women to make something happen. There’s been a tidal shift towards an increase in risk aversion. To your point in the second half, I do agree with actually. However, I do think there needs to be more of an overall push for male circles where these issues can be shared, instead of bottling it up until it becomes hatred towards people who did you no wrong.

Definitely. Everyone has their own things. I just believe one thing that can be tough for men to manage is the anxiety around performance. For example, struggling to get hard during sex. That’s a uniquely male thing. Despite it being a natural occurrence, it can leave psychological impacts if it’s not managed properly. To the point it intimidates you enough to stop trying. That can lead to a spiral. These are the kind of topics I wish were discussed here. It would definitely add a fresh dimensio…

One of the hardest, yet most important, things to do as a man is to learn how to manage the pressure to perform. Women get nervous before dates, sex, etc. too. It's not all on you.

I’m right here. You guys can address me directly. Also, I wasn’t born with a woman’s titty in my mouth. I have to work hard because I’m not a pretty boy. I’m just tired of men giving their power away and feeling helpless. That doesn’t help at all.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/09/23 06:00 PM

No one says men are at fault. However, they are responsible for the results they get in anything, just like everyone else. If you never try, results are guaranteed to be 0.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/09/23 05:56 PM
1

Yep. Risk aversion is the problem. Not women.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/09/23 05:38 PM

Q4W: How many times have you reported a respectful, socially calibrated approach from a man you weren’t attracted to? Edit: It seems like most are saying they’ve never reported any respectful approaches. Interesting.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/09/23 05:29 PM

My thread on approaching is going as well as you can probably expect. Turns out most aren’t even trying at all (which is fine) but then to turn around and blame women is very weird.

/r/PurplePillDebate23/09/23 11:48 PM

The findings actually suggest that risk aversion is the problem. As in men aren’t willing to risk rejection. That actually seems to be the problem more than anything else.

Most complaints come from work environments. Aside from that, the complains drop dramatically.

Yes, but it’s also a huge driver to keep me pushing forward. The hardest part to accept is the time lost. However, the exchange is that you become really driven to make the most out of your time. Ultimately, I think over a long enough time, the rewards will far exceed any lingering regrets. For example, I’m leaner now than I ever was in college.

1747/day (28% reduction). I used this calculator: https://legionathletics.com/weight-loss-calculator/ Note: It's safest to underestimate your activity level. I used to use "4 to 6 hrs/week" but it's more like "1 to 3 hrs/week" when I factor in my rest I take during workouts.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/09/23 10:29 PM

After getting feedback on my calorie intake, it turns out the TDEE calculator I've been using was way too generous. Primarily, I overshot the activity factor. Got feedback from a fitness trainer, and it helped me tweak my numbers by about ~375 calories/day. With new projections, I'll be at 14% bodyfat by 3/14/24. Won't be a perfect road, but we'll get there one day at a time.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/09/23 10:24 PM

Your environment does matter too. With dating apps, there are more men than women. That will drastically skew your results, also increase selectiveness on their side (simply because there's more to choose from) - it's just the market at work. Meanwhile, if you moved to a place like NYC (Where single women outnumber single men) - things may change way faster than you think.

I basically started it because it can be hard to break into communities here in Seattle (people keep to themselves) so it can be a tough environment to acclimcate to for people not used to that. Here, it's refered to as the 'Seattle Freeze' I created the group to combat that problem, and it's been growing quite quickly. It's great to see.

I run a social group out in Seattle where newcomers/existing residents can come out and make new friends. We hang out at bars, restaurants, and different venues - that way we're also able to help support local businesses. The VIP aspect is for members who routinely come to our main group and want a more intimate experience (think back to the days of house parties).

Sounds like you're just choosing to run instead of face those thoughts head on. For example, it's easy to scroll & reaffirm your current mindset. It's tougher to face your fears and find out the truth. Looks do matter. In addition, most men don't maximize their looks at all. You may look like a completely different man with a better haircut, lower body fat, and new style. However, the only way to know is to do the work to find out.

Most of this stuff just comes down to communication and knowing the game you're playing. If you want casual, you should expect casual outcomes. If you want relationships, then you should expect those type of outcomes. You can spend your 20's fooling around and still find a relationship in your 30's. Men & women do this all the time with no problems. Every man should be able to enjoy the journey of exploring his sexuality & understanding what he likes/doesn't like. This is absolutely something po…

Popular/unpopular take: I don’t see anything wrong with men pursuing women. Especially if it maximizes their odds of success. Expecting a woman to step out of her feminine frame is a losing endeavor. In addition, what you won’t do, another man will. I rather compete than sit on the sidelines.

No. I'm unmarried, leaning towards never getting married. I see no reason to complain about women wanting to stay single. I can see how it happens. I think people tend to admire those who excel at things they're struggling to (in this case, getting a handle of your sex life). When you don't have a problem with something, it can be difficult to relate/understand those who do. Coming from a below average upbringing myself, I get it. I personally have empathy for any man who is struggling to get a handle on their sex life. The empathy stops when that struggle shifts to blaming women.

I’ve spent my birthday today reflecting on the things I’ve accomplished, and doing a long, hard look at the parts of my life that are still below average. Now I have a game plan to continue my improvements for the next year. We can’t choose where we start, but we can decide how we finish. Let’s go.

The problem is that many people in general usually overestimate the amount of work they think they're actually doing. For example, thinking they're in shape when if they gave a shirtless pic to their trainer, he would actually say you're quite overweight. Or just putting on some new clothes thinking that's enough to be stylish, when they've invested little in ensuring they fit properly, they're tailored, they're establishing some sort of archetype so they stick out. Or talking to a new woman onc…

Yep. Majority of colleges sport majority women now. I once read it's getting so bad that several schools are hiding their gender demographics. In other words, your son could be set up to have a hell of a time if he's likeable/sociable.

Instead of trying to make big changes, start smaller: - Wanna speak to that girl? Don't put pressure on yourself to get a number. Just make it a goal to say hi. - Wanna get in shape? Don't worry about the perfect routine. Make it a goal to simply drive to the parking lot. - Have trouble maintaining great eye contact? Don't try to overdo this. Just try to hold it one second longer than you're normally comfortable with. Small things add up in a big way.

I disagree on the pornsick stuff. There are a lot of very kinky people (both men & women) who are into a huge variety of stuff. Provided everything is consensual, I don't see a problem. However, I do think it's best for these type of people to marry each other. In this case, if this man has a specific set of desires that his wife won't give him, which is very well within her right, and compromises can't be made - it's best for both parties to leave. Sex takes two.

/r/PurplePillDebate09/08/23 10:41 PM

Your suspicion is spot on. That's exactly why there are more women in NYC. As a result, more men enjoy quite active casual sex lives that they probably wouldn't elsewhere -- simply because they're spoiled for choice. It kills the need to settle down. (Not for every man, obviously.) I don't live in london so I'm not sure, but if it has a big finance sector, I wouldn't be suprised. If those are the ratios, men will be way more apt to spend more money on average to court a woman. They're also more …

Date-onomics continues to be a solid read. If you're doing all the right things to find dates, but still not having much luck, remember to check your market. Even a ratio like 120 men/105 women in your city can make a massive difference. Especially if more men than women continue to move to said area. (Vice versa for flipped genders.)

I know several men who are sexually successful and juggle a few women simultaneously, and they all say similar things. Red pill is too extreme. It's taken a few truths that have been around forever & repackaged them as revolutionary concepts. The 'harsh truths' aren't really that harsh. Most people want the best they can get. It's that simple. The 'chads' are as sexually successful as you think they are. However, all of them don't want to play the field. Some do get married. The 'chads' also are…

Not necessarily. For example, in NYC many pockets are more female-heavy. This means more single women are avaialble across the board, than single men, no matter the environment. This can easily make things like tinder/hinge/bumble/bars/social gatherings significantly easier to find available women for dating/sex. Envirionment isn't talked about much with this stuff, when in fact, it plays a major role. Especially during & after college.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/08/23 07:54 PM
1

This gets a bit overlooked. I'm in Seattle as well, and it definitely leans male-heavy. I even have a social group that's open to both sexes, and without fail, the male/female ratio holds a solid 60:40 / 65:35. It's wild. You know it's also bad when several women in the group ask me where the other women are haha. Obviously there are opportunities everywhere, but your environment 1000% plays a factor into how often you run into available men/women.

One of the things I appreciate most about my gym routine is that I can see it in advance. When I see the hard work coming, I can feel my body immediately pulling back, and asking myself "Do we HAVE to do this?" -- all the feelings of wanting to run away. Yet when the day comes, I tackle them head on because the reward is so much greater than a better body. It's staying committed to the hard things, even when you don't feel like it. Bitter is an interesting word. I'd say it's a bitterness towards themselves that gets projected onto the men/women who had successful experiences when they were younger. The reality is that, as much as we may hate it, everyone is socialized differently. The expectations are according to what you want. If you want a shot at above average experiences, you'll usually need to have something above average about you. An above average body can be acquired with that routine. A lot of women love skinny men. I know several skinny men who do quite well. In terms of bars & clubs, and ratio of women, your environment also matters. If you're in a place that leans more men, it can make it harder to run into single women, and vice versa. Been reading Date-onomics, and it sheds some very interesting details on the impact of gender ratios in dating. Even the smallest differences can add up in a major way. It also shows interesting insights into human behavior depending on the area. For example: Women tend to lock men down at higher rates where the competition for women is higher (i.e. many sites along the west coast like Seattle). Women's preferences also tend to rise, given the increase in suitors to choose from. Men tend to have…

For me, it sounds a bit naggy. Mostly because I'm more of a 'sufficient but not perfect is ok' kind of person. So I'd have a very short fuse for someone like this. With that said, they are married - and ultimately it's on them to navigate this in a way that's fair for both parties. Working and managing a newborn is no joke. Hopefully they figure it out soon. They're going to lose some sleep for a while.

Could be several things: They're just minding their own biz. Not a personal slight against you. There's nothing remarkable about you visually that's grabbing their attention. You're only focusing on women you want and ignoring the ones you don't want (who very well could be looking at you).

/r/PurplePillDebate19/07/23 10:49 PM

Yes because men approach more. Higher standards for what? Sex? Arguable. Relationships? Hard disagree. How can women have a deadlock on casual sex if men willingly participate?
/r/PurplePillDebate19/07/23 10:37 PM

How exactly?
/r/PurplePillDebate19/07/23 10:01 PM

Men do the same thing when it comes to women.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/07/23 09:33 PM

How exactly do they control the dating market?
/r/PurplePillDebate19/07/23 09:31 PM
1

We could def get more into the nuance, but I think the bigger thing here is that most men aren't approaching at all (cold or warm). You can't score if you don't play the game at all.

Curious: Are any of you into BDSM?
/r/PurplePillDebate18/07/23 10:45 PM

Uh oh, someone better hide this quick. Turns out most women want to be approached and most men are not approaching. Most men who are approaching are having some success.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/07/23 10:43 PM

Fairly good study. This should be bookmarked here. Reality is the majority of women want to be approached in the right way. Risk aversion is hurting men, which is hurting women.

Why do I believe this ? Besides personal observations, every time I have been up front and honest with a woman how I feel about her or what I want from her and get rejected , the woman in question has respected me for being honest and up front, and their opinion of me as a person increased from that point on. Say it louder for the people in the back. It's better to just be upfront. Yes you may still get rejected, but you'll always be respected for having the balls to make your interest known.

The problem is that we have to be clear on what 'efforts' means. There's one part of it that's attractiveness-related. There's the other part that involves talking to enough women to find a connection. Both are extremely important.

100%. It's worth it under the right context. Therapy on it's own doesn't do much if you aren't willing to change. The point of it is to help you process things in a healthier way, as well as challenge old, harmful stories you've believed about yourself. You don't need to be under therapy forever. It's just a great resource to have for the times you do need it.

It just sounds like regular dating, man. I would focus more on your own self awareness. Let's assume these women have enough options to not waste their time with ugly men. There was something she liked about you. The only way for her to confirm this is to go on a date with you. If it works out, great. If not, no worries. Chemistry is a tricky thing, and it can't be forced. Just keep going on more dates, and make time to reflect so you can see where you can improve. You got this.

So as a guy, it is rather pointless to even bother approaching if the ladies have already made up their minds within a first few seconds whether or not that man is a "potential" prospect. Well, yeah. That's how this works. Not every woman will find you attractive. No one woman will find you attractive if you never make your presence known. How can women control a dating market? A market requires two parts to function: Someone with a product. Someone who wants said product. This makes it sound li…

I agree with this. My mom went all in on a marriage she had every right to annul for ~30 years. She stayed until her spouse passed. Marriage is no joke, and I think a lot of people realize that only after the fact. So it's good that people have a way out. I certainly won't propose to anyone who doesn't go above and beyond anything I could have ever hoped to have. That's more important than the feeling of being married. I think if it was taken more seriously, marriage and divorce rates would drop…

I agree with this. Marriage as an institution is very much archaic. The vows are only a formality, and good to the extent that the two parties want to uphold them. Times change & people change. I think the divorce rate would drop more if marriage was viewed through a practical lens, rather than an over-romanticized one.

People will usually be hostile towards anything that makes them seem oversimplified, or that they aren't more than their base desires. I think it's simply better to treat human nature for what it is. There's a reason women often like rich, tall, charming, strong men. There's a reason men often like slim-figured, curvy, nice women. Even on one of my casual dating apps, there's a sizable number of women who say they they're size queens, want a big dick, etc. I'm sure women probably get bombarded w…

I actually agree here. I'm a part of a self improvement forum and you'd be surprised how many men want hotter women after they start getting some success. Almost every single time they get some traction, the new goal becomes to sleep with baddies - the same woman that most men want if they had the choice. The ironic part is how few actually talk about their plans to level themselves up to break through the competition required to get with that caliber of woman to begin with. It truly is a sight …

Gym bunnies are my kryptonite. I talk to several. Got to go on a date with a few. I have a high admiration for the discipline & work ethic. Obviously, their bodies are quite sexy. They're pretty strict on their routines, so I keep the convos short. However, contrary to popular belief, they're a pleasure to talk to. Just respect their time & it's all good.

I agree. Confidence is something that compounds through gradual wins over time.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/07/23 11:23 PM

Two things: I've noticed quite a surge in threads regarding scenarios where said thing rarely happens. - Are people really discussing on the first date how many people they've had sex with? - Or who slept with who first at what time? I think discussions around things that are more likely to happen would be way more productive. Like actually defining what an average man or a Chad is so we have some rubrics to build from. Why do so many of these convos paint men as being so helpless & unable to ta…

It's a balance. Negativity helped us survive as a species. However, we're not under the same threats we used be thousands of years ago. It takes an active mind to learn how to handle negativity. The first step is simply being aware of when you are, then learning how to extract the positive. It's a muscle you have to build.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/07/23 04:15 AM

LA Fitness has been my gold standard. Literally has everything I need. I would love a more old school type of gym, but those are quite hard to find in my area.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/23 08:16 PM

I got a 5.04 - 5.1 for most pics. Best I got was a 5.3. Looking at the distribution, it looks like 6 is average, which would make me below average. My dating coach said I won't be able to coast by on looks, so it lines up. Oh well, gotta keep trying.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/23 07:30 PM

Hm, I dunno about this take. I don't think regular guys really are this helpless. I think this comes down to a lack of self esteem & putting women above them. I personally would never involve myself with women who aren't interested in me. That means parting ways with my dignity, and that's a hard stop for me. Also, I don't think the search is that awful for a normal man. What I do think is awful is for a man to squander his potential because he's overly worried about a woman's approval.

I'm not over 35 yet (close) but I'd say I can relate to this pretty hard. Mostly because it reflects a lot of my life up until recently. First thing I want to say is that you're not alone in feeling this way. There are a lot of men out there who I'm sure are going through similar things. When life doesn't go your way (especially with women) it's easy to feel like things are over. You go to high school/college & see men connecting with women no problem. Such a thing doesn't exist, unfortunately. If he's not a significant other, I'd lower the expectations a bit. Otherwise, that will be your true source of misery, not the guy texting you back. I believe men are clear when they want something or are afraid of losing said thing to another man. If he's interested, he'll come around. If it's been a few days and you try again (things happen) with no luck then you have your answer.

#2 for me at this season of my life. For a couple of reasons: It increases the odds of #1 happening should that time ever come (falling in love with someone you don't find sexually desirable seems odd) Love is a two way street. I know very social people who are still single. I know anti social people who are taken. Ultimately in order to find someone, you need to engage with people in whatever capacity you can to increase your likelihood of success. A great social life is not a guarantee that you'll find someone. Like anything in life, there are things you can do to improve your odds of success, but guarantees are impossible to make.

I don't really put those in the same area, it's just that those things wreck my progress. When I eat a good bit of sugar, my cravings get borderline unbearable. I also found someone who was where I wanted to be when it came to women, money, life, mindset etc. So when we first met, he had to lay the facts out as they were: I was fat. If your body holds on to water/fat like mine does, I'd suggest not focusing too much on the exercise calories. Unfortunately, that metric is just too unreliable. The better thing is to just make sure you're eating at a maintenance & rapidly expand your time horizon. I'd find a good baseline for cutting based on your height/weight then start there. I don't think it's really hard for women to admit they care about looks because everything shows they do. There is no shortage of studies that support the fact that the importance of physical attractiveness runs almost even between men & women. Yes "Women love with their ears and men with their eyes" isn't true. It never was true. Now let's ask the real question... Since we know that looks DO matter, what are we willing to do to make the most out of what we have?

I think the important thing here is to just take action so you give yourself a chance to prove yourself wrong. Especially for men, the reality is if you don't hunt, you stand a very real chance of being single/sexless. This means you'll have to take risks, or you won't be rewarded at all. Women get a bit more luxury in this apartment as many don't have to stick their necks out that much, but that's life. Most don't do it because it doesn't make them feel feminine. Another woman told me I was hot today. I'd never thought I'd be here this fast - especially when I still have so much to improve on like my style, social stuff, etc. However, I guess it just goes to show what can happen when you see things through. 1.5 years ago, I was extremely overweight, anxious, depressed and dealing with the repercussions of a childhood I wouldn't wish on anyone. Now, with enough hard work, dedication, faith & belief, fantasies are becoming a reality. I'm grateful to have m…

Confidence can be gained. First, on a fundamental level through your values & what you stand for. Next, by setting goals & accomplishing them. This doesn't always mean massive goals. It also means doing the little stuff you said you'd do. Finally, it can be gained through sheer endurance. The more you accomplish, the more your confidence grows. However, goals aren't always reached on day 1. Sometimes they take weeks, months or years. It can be gained, but you must put in the work to cultivate it…

Regret is a tricky thing. It means you're self aware, yet holding on to something potentially harmful. Regret is ok as long as you learn from it. However, make sure it doesn't consume you. If you're alive today, that means you have another shot to build the life you want. To act differently & think differently. The first step is always the hardest, but the most necessary. Moving forward is what ensures you don't get stuck again. Onward.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/05/23 06:38 PM

You’re assuming it will take you 10 years to fix this stuff. What if it happens a lot sooner? You can only control the day you’re in. Nothing else. Make the most of it and put in the work you must to get what you want out of life. If you let your past dictate your future, it’s over. Don’t give in.

I think it varies greatly. You will be sexy to some & invisible to others because you don't fit their tastes. In terms of overlapping attractiveness, I think this is why it's best to focus on what helps most on average. If there’s one thing my coach is drilling into me is this. Body fat matters significantly for your looks. A lot of the men he knows who kill it with women are ~15% bf (the healthy bmi range for men). You don’t need to be in world-class shape for dating/sex but success leaves clues.

Why should the advice be the same? Also how to we know women aren't telling other women to hit the gym if they wanna improve their attractiveness?
/r/PurplePillDebate21/05/23 08:15 PM

Most men aren't hitting the gym either. Nor are they fit. Nor are they healthy. Most of America is overweight. So is the argument that average women's expectations are getting out of hand, and that average men can't get average women because they want the elite men?
/r/PurplePillDebate21/05/23 05:37 PM

Men can only learn and improve by working on themselves. That's the exact process. You can only look better physically by going to the gym. /r/PurplePillDebate10/05/23 12:28 PM

I do it. It works on those who are interested, doesn’t work in those who aren’t. I don’t fault a man for taking initiative when the opportunity presents itself (as most women don’t approach, so he has to, otherwise he’ll risk being single/sexless for a long time).
/r/PurplePillDebate10/05/23 03:48 AM

It doesn’t matter what age you are, you can change. You’re not doomed, you just have to trust yourself enough to try. Anything worth getting is worth fighting for. Even if you didn’t have a great childhood, your path is not set in stone. You can grow.

As a late bloomer myself, this is a bit of a fatalistic view. I do agree that those years are super vital, however, every child doesn't grow up the same way. Most go on to follow the standard timeline of life super fun life in the 20's, kids in late 20's/30's, settle in then go from there. For those of us who grew up on the other side of the tracks, (from broken homes, marriages, etc.) things don't quite play out the same way. I think PPD threads would be 100x more productive if everyone was just honest what they’re after. If you want casual sex, just say that so we can discuss action steps to make it happen. Same for relationships. I think this would add a new dimension of discussion. I think overall, there's just way less of a need to settle down, and the social pressure to do so has dropped significantly. Everything around us moves exponentially faster than we used to. People are becoming more independent and putting their needs first. A spouse isn't needed. These are good things. As a result, marriage & birth rates are plummeting. This is good. I don't think chasing women is a waste of time. I like women. I want them. I'm sexually attracted to them. I want them in my life. I will do what it takes to get what I want. If it wasn't for sex, sure, men probably wouldn't bother. However, that's just a scenario that will never happen because human nature has created a sexual dynamic between us. Women wanting you pursue isn't a bad thing. It very likely makes them feel feminine, and that's ok.

If every woman looks the same way, then the problem much more likely that you're viewing them with the same lens. Instead of presuming they find you disgusting, why not approach them and see if it's true? It's easier to avoid the anxiety by assuming no woman wants you to approach them. It's much harder to face your anxiety & discover the truth.

I saw a ppd thread where a guy thought he was looksmaxxed. Women and men offered advice around losing weight, styling hair, etc. Said advice was rejected because he thought there was nothing else he could do, or that it wouldn't matter. Just goes to show others can't help you unless you help yourself.

Hmmm… I think it has more to do with capitalism taking advantage of men’s natural desires, and placating them to the point they don’t want to do anything difficult to get their sexual needs met.

PPD Men locked themselves in their own cage & gave women the key. The problem is: Women never asked for the key.

I moved here from Louisiana, and yeah, Seattle can be very insular in the social sense. I definitely find it harder to connect with people myself. With that said, I’m the fighting type, so now im working on building a new social meetup group. It already has 200+ members in 4 days, so that’s exciting. I think joining and consistently being part of communities is key. Long term, there probably comes a point where living here won’t make much economic sense. Given I can get a lot of house in many pl…

I think it’s important to highlight that if men could get laid whenever they wanted without commitment the number of men seeking relationships likely would be smaller imo. I agree with this.

Looks like he’s just being friendly. Sounds like you’re attracted to him, and it’s making you look for things that may not be there. Just chill and be cordial.

Human nature is hypocritical, ugly and not meant to be logical. The sooner you accept this, the sooner you will free yourself from constantly questioning human behavior. Relationships are few and far in between for most people compared to hookups. Sex drive is a powerful force that doesn’t care about your marital status. Are you sure you really want a long term relationship? Why would women doing casual stuff on the side bother you if that’s not what you want anyway? Maybe you can take a similar…

We’re supposed to be desirable regardless of how we look, because women definitely don’t care about that stuff. It’s simple. /s

I love how this post turned into middle age men getting roasted for completely avoidable stuff. This place is hilarious 😂

I recommend a therapist, brother. These are deeper problems that will hurt every area of your life without professional support.

Is that women aren't honest, or is it that men won't listen?

I'm someone who's lived most of his life without confidence. The only thing that fixes it? Doing what you're afraid of and achieving goals. Yes, early conditioning from supporting parents is always valuable. For many, that's enough to build a solid foundation. However, just because you didn't have that doesn't mean you can't build it. Confidence is built through effort, not the outcome (you can't control that).

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
