Why do many Woman have trouble owning up to things?Well, I’m a feminist and I do. | /r/PurplePillDebate | 02/07/22 05:33 PM
Why do many Woman have trouble owning up to things?Privilege is oppressive. My mom’s family was rich enough to employ a maid when she was growing up. As an adult, she struggled with a working middle class lifestyle (her parents died while she was young, and used her inheritance to afford being a SAHM until I was 6 y/o; my father came from poverty growing up). The privilege she grew up with was also oppression, IMO. | /r/PurplePillDebate | 02/07/22 05:33 PM
Why do many Woman have trouble owning up to things?I think it’s because a lot of people don’t recognize that privilege is a double edged sword. It’s both a benefit and oppression. I have always empathized with men emotionally more than other girls (and women when I grew up). I have always thrived better in male dominated hobbies and spaces; but I’m female, and I recognize the rights feminism has granted me. | /r/PurplePillDebate | 02/07/22 05:28 PM
Why do many Woman have trouble owning up to things?I see privilege as a double edged sword. It’s both oppression and a benefit to the individual. | /r/PurplePillDebate | 02/07/22 05:24 PM
Why do many Woman have trouble owning up to things? It’s oppression towards men and woman because it infantilizes heterosexual men and heaps more responsibility onto women (ie. Don’t drink in publicly, women, so you don’t get raped; men can’t help their nature, so don’t punish them - men are slaves to their nature, don’t punish them). | /r/PurplePillDebate | 02/07/22 05:20 PM
Why do many Woman have trouble owning up to things? Not really. Have you heard of a gilded cage? | /r/PurplePillDebate | 02/07/22 05:16 PM
Why do many Woman have trouble owning up to things?Yes. Because that’s removing responsibility where men - where ALL people regardless of sex - should be held responsible. | /r/PurplePillDebate | 02/07/22 04:55 PM
Why do many Woman have trouble owning up to things?I think feminism made a terrible mistake by not calling out oppression that men face, too. Ally ship between the sexes is vital to achieving legal equality between the sexes. I think I feel this way, because I have always understood men better emotionally than I do other women. I’ve always struggled in feminine spaces, and I’m the more masculine person - emotionally - in my relationship with my BF. I’m more career driven, I have always desired to be the provider or at minimum a major provider in… | /r/PurplePillDebate | 02/07/22 04:54 PM
Why do many Woman have trouble owning up to things?I mean, yeah, it is both a privilege and oppression. A lot of privileges can be double edged swords for both sexes. | /r/PurplePillDebate | 02/07/22 04:50 PM
Why do many Woman have trouble owning up to things? It’s not a privilege because it encourages people to to view women as less capable, as not being real adults. Believe me, I used to think this argument was weird, too. But when you think about, it oppresses men and women. It puts more responsibility on men and infantilizes women. Edit: I should have clarified how it hurts men, too, to further explain how it’s oppression. My apologies and thank you for calling me out on that. :) | /r/PurplePillDebate | 02/07/22 04:37 PM
Why do many Woman have trouble owning up to things? It is. As a feminist, I absolutely want to see equal sentencing. It’s beyond upsetting when I see news stories of a female teacher using a teenage boy for sex, and I see older men cheering for his sexual abuse. (Some say they wished female teachers did this to them, others admit they’re victims of abuse themselves - but they frame it as a sexual opportunity.) It’s upsetting because the woman is an obvious predator, but she isn’t seen as such because of being a woman. | /r/PurplePillDebate | 02/07/22 04:33 PM
Was it a positive thing to mix boys and girls in schools together? How do you know they are historical? | /r/PurplePillDebate | 02/07/22 03:35 PM
Was it a positive thing to mix boys and girls in schools together? It’s a good thing overall. Growing up in a diverse environment is beneficial to children, IMO. They are more likely to learn how to coexist with people who are different from them. I think future generations will see healthier relationships between men and women (platonic and otherwise) as outdated views of the sexes | /r/PurplePillDebate | 02/07/22 03:17 PM
Was it a positive thing to mix boys and girls in schools together?Going to an all girl’s school wouldn’t have helped my untreated ADHD and emotional issues. Going to a school with teachers that were educated and trained to work with students like me would have helped me more than anything. | /r/PurplePillDebate | 02/07/22 03:09 PM
Women outnumbering Men in college. When you say “took your first life,” are you saying you were deployed? I’m assuming in the the early 2000’s? | /r/PurplePillDebate | 01/07/22 11:59 PM
Women outnumbering Men in college.Like the above said, this is a terrible reason to go to college. I know people who pursued their passions and ended up in jobs related to their degrees that struggle to pay the bills and pay off student debt. I’m lucky in that my passion has a high chance to lead to a lucrative career because nurses are always in need, especially after COVID and if I go to the master level. Make sure that a field is lucrative enough to pay back any student debt you accrue. Do not go to college for anything but t… | /r/PurplePillDebate | 01/07/22 11:10 PM
Roe v. Wade Mega-ThreadIt is an option, sure, but it shouldn’t be the only way out. My dad didn’t want me, and I have mental health issues because of him. I’m sure there’s a genetic predisposition there. My adult life will be “OK” at best from my perspective (even when it’s legitimately good) because I’m finally reaching “mostly emotionally numb” as a baseline in my late 20’s. | /r/PurplePillDebate | 01/07/22 05:10 AM
Roe v. Wade Mega-ThreadI’m including unwanted children in there. If the parents don’t want them is a valid reason to abort. My grandparents should’ve been allowed to abort my dad. Neither of them wanted him or to stay together, but they were young and pressured into a shotgun marriage. Had one more kid, but by time my dad was 6 y/o his dad walked out on them. Both of my grandparents were horribly abusive, and my dad inherited that abusive parenting style. | 1 | Roe v. Wade Mega-ThreadPeople have a lot of reasons to abort. We’re becoming more conscious of quality of life over quantity. Life isn’t some gift. There are some things worse than death - especially before you have personhood or any sort of awareness. | /r/PurplePillDebate | 01/07/22 04:38 AM
Roe v. Wade Mega-ThreadThat doesn’t change the fact that a fetus isn’t a fully developed juvenile human yet. It’s not capable of thoughts or feelings. It’s a human without personhood. | /r/PurplePillDebate | 30/06/22 12:46 PM
Roe v. Wade Mega-ThreadSee, I agree that society needs to do those things; but I’m still pro-choice I’m pro-quality of life, and ending a human life post birth without their consent via a living will or something would be disastrous and easily abused, so I’m pro-choice so that people can decide whether to bring a child into this world or not. The world is callous and cruel. Thinking that having the chance at life is a gift regardless of the circumstances the child is born into is baffling to me. | /r/PurplePillDebate | 30/06/22 12:42 PM
Roe v. Wade Mega-ThreadI can justify abortion because of the value of a human being. I also value quality of life more than quantity, so it just makes sense to end a pregnancy (with the consent of at minimum the mother) rather bring a life into a terrible situation. If my father had been aborted, two generations of severe child abuse and poor mental health wouldn’t exist. I wouldn’t have been born and I’m not ecstatic at the thought of my life ending, sure, but my grandparents wouldn’t have been pressured into a marri… | /r/PurplePillDebate | 30/06/22 09:19 AM

Roe v. Wade Mega-ThreadEducation in the south is so bad, that when I was a senior in high school (2012), I met high schoolers in Texas that didn’t know Indiana was a state (where I’m from). When I told them where I’m from, they asked me why I’m not Indian. It took a lot for me to realize they weren’t being snarky; they literally were confused that I’m not South Asian (this is one of the few times I have met people that meant “Indian” as in “India”; my home state is socially backwards enough that many still prefer to s… | /r/PurplePillDebate | 30/06/22 12:12 AM

My stepmother did not raise most off her children. I wouldn’t expect my boyfriend or husband to put their life at risk for my stuff, so I wouldn’t expect that of my male friend. Plus, if someone snatches my “purse,” they’ll probably drag me with them since my purse is a backpack (not a dainty backpack purse, but an actual backpack). | /r/PurplePillDebate | 29/06/22 10:05 PM |

Men and women are not equal. Nobody can deny itWhen people are starving en mass, suffering knows no sex. To survive, you think of yourself and value others as few as possible. In reality, “women and children first” is abandoned by the average person outside of the few people they personally valued - if they valued anyone more than themself at all. In reality, the common men and women suffer just as much when society is torn asunder by conflict. Often for different reasons, but the suffering is often bad enough that surviving the immediate co… | /r/PurplePillDebate | 29/06/22 04:35 PM
Men and women are not equal. Nobody can deny itIn my country, I am seeing that change. Slow and steady and not likely to become the norm until I’m much older (I’m in my 20’s now); but the change is happening. Biologically we will never be equal, legal equality can be achieved. | /r/PurplePillDebate | 29/06/22 04:23 PM
| -1 | Men and women are not equal. Nobody can deny itSimply surviving a conflict isn’t a win. Depending on the results of the conflict and society is impacted, life during and after could be a constant struggle - starvation becoming the norm could be waiting at the end. Many women and children joined their men during and soon after conflicts for this reason. | /r/PurplePillDebate | 29/06/22 04:19 PM |
Men and women are not equal. Nobody can deny itThat’s because of outdated legislation that was enacted when women were the default caregivers. Society is becoming more accepting of both women and now men living life outside of traditional roles; I’m more SAHD’s in my generation than previously, and more men and women that want women included in the draft (or to see the draft abolished - period). | /r/PurplePillDebate | 29/06/22 04:14 PM
Men and women are not equal. Nobody can deny itMen have fled conflict all throughout history. Look at America: many of us are here because we’ve descended from both men and women who fled conflicts in their home countries. My 10th great-grandfather was an aristocrat and a Huguenot that fled the French Revolution in the 1600’s. They lost everything and my 10th great-grandfather had to come to the colonies as an indentured servant; his wife died serving another Englishmen en route to the colonies, and with no children together, I’m descended f… | /r/PurplePillDebate | 29/06/22 04:06 PM
Men and women are not equal. Nobody can deny itMy dad financially aborted me when I was in adolescence by simply refusing to pay child support, and because my mother couldn’t afford to take him to court, he never suffered repercussions. The man demanded he be a part of my life without contributing to my basic needs, and he was beside himself with fury when I told him off and refused his visitation rights (despite my mom encouraging me to try to have a relationship with my father). | /r/PurplePillDebate | 29/06/22 03:58 PM
Men and women are not equal. Nobody can deny itYou think having to defend your offspring and/or yourself from a threat is less traumatic than serving the front lines? Here’s the thing: To the human brain, real trauma is trauma. Both situations would be traumatic to a person, male or female. Stephen King was traumatized when he rescued his toddler-aged son from becoming roadkill when the child toddled in front of an oncoming semi truck. Knowing that, had he been seconds later, he would have watched his child die, was traumatic due to the natu… | /r/PurplePillDebate | 29/06/22 03:54 PM
Do women as they approach mid 20s / 30s start to cut out male 'friends' from their life?Oh, I won’t be surprised if I’m wrong; and if we keep in mind the many conflicts humanity has seen with familiar echoes, I’ve learned that humans have a nasty habit of repeating history. It sucks, but it’s part of being human. | 1 | Do women as they approach mid 20s / 30s start to cut out male 'friends' from their life?People often forget the transitional period after social change occurs, and we’ve seen a lot of social change in a shorter period of time than before. Equilibrium will most likely be reached, and hopefully in a form that normalizes the freedoms achieved for women, while creating a society that better meets the social needs of men. It will never be perfect - but hopefully society will learn to meet both sexes halfway in a modern sense. | /r/PurplePillDebate | 29/06/22 03:19 PM
Do women as they approach mid 20s / 30s start to cut out male 'friends' from their life?I think this is very cultural dependent. Where I grew up, the quality of your social experiences depended on how well you could thrive within a strict, socially Conservative Midwest American rural culture - regardless of your sex. As a girl that naturally didn’t fit the mold expected of girls, I grew up just as socially maladjusted as the boys that didn’t fit in. | 1 | Roe v. Wade Mega-ThreadI’m not saying that broken individuals are incapable of loving and raising a mentally healthy child. My aunt is an example of that. But she decided early on she wanted her first child, and wanted the next two children. Wanting a child can affect how a parent treats them. In my family’s example, that’s literally been the first sign of being unfit parent: every person that didn’t want their child or children wound up abusive; every person that wanted their child were good parents. | /r/PurplePillDebate | 27/06/22 04:00 PM

The only people I know of that believe the government is some “altruistic organizations” are incredibly ignorant of politics and they don’t really align with either party, and have low voter turnout rates until the presidential election. | /r/PurplePillDebate | 27/06/22 03:57 PM |

Roe v. Wade Mega-ThreadI feel like the criticism “lack of funding” is another criticism of poor leadership. The money is there until it’s allocated poorly and more funding (generally through taxes, which higher earners can often get away with not paying their fair share, especially since leadership is in their pockets) is demanded of middle class earners. | /r/PurplePillDebate | 26/06/22 12:17 PM

Do women as they approach mid 20s / 30s start to cut out male 'friends' from their life?Maturing out of time is forced to you? How? Maturing with age is a natural part of progression in most people’s lives. Keep in mind, I was never one of these women - I have been with two men, and I’m still with and building a life with the second man. But when the party girls I knew growing up started reinvented themselves for a domestic life, I encouraged and praised them. | 1 | Roe v. Wade Mega-ThreadI did give you a straight answer. It should be mandated for anyone that doesn’t have religious or medical exemptions. | /r/PurplePillDebate | 25/06/22 12:29 AM
Roe v. Wade Mega-ThreadLol I know whether I wold force it or not. You are looking for a simple answer. I’m giving you a real answer. | /r/PurplePillDebate | 25/06/22 12:28 AM
Roe v. Wade Mega-ThreadIt’s not as simple as “enforce or don’t.” I was born missing an organ, so I have lived my life by doctor’s advisement and they have rarely steered me wrong. It’s not that simple. | /r/PurplePillDebate | 25/06/22 12:26 AM
Roe v. Wade Mega-ThreadIt shouldn’t be considered forceful. The state isn’t enforcing it, and if you don’t have medical or religious concerns (religious concerns are accepted, my personal beliefs as an atheist shouldn’t affect that), you shouldn’t have any issues with the vaccine. I have spoken with numerous doctors that support the vaccines and explained why VAERS isn’t a legitimate source. Despite my own anxieties, I took the Pfizer vaccine for the greater good. | /r/PurplePillDebate | 25/06/22 12:23 AM

Roe v. Wade Mega-ThreadI don’t agree with forcefully injecting the vaccines - I agree with speaking to your primary care physician, and if they medically clear you, you have no excuse to reject the vaccine. I was and still am anxious about consequences of taking a vaccine that was developed in such a short time. I was vaccinated during the first wave; but I did it out of concern for more than myself. | 1 | Do women you’re not attracted to you mean anything to you at all? Do you look up to or admire any women?Half seems like a good estimate. More often than not, I’ll find myself debating people in whatever group I’m affiliated with just as often as I’ll debate with the “opposing group.” I’m definitely more content with who I am than a lot of the people around me. | 1 | Do women you’re not attracted to you mean anything to you at all? Do you look up to or admire any women?I relate more to men or the women you befriend - I generally hate people, but I’m concerned for the vulnerable and want to provide for their genuine needs/or help them help themselves. I’m often judged as being moody or confrontational because I’m direct and focused when I need to be, and disengaged in social situations where most women would be expected to engage traditionally. I have never related to traditionally feminine women. | /r/PurplePillDebate | 22/06/22 02:46 PM

Oh, and for reasons women abort: Women’s reasons for seeking an abortion fell into 11 broad themes. The predominant themes identified as reasons for seeking abortion included financial reasons (40%), timing (36%), partner related reasons (31%), and the need to focus on other children (29%). Most women reported multiple reasons for seeking an abortion crossing over several themes (64%). Using mixed effects multivariate logistic reg… | /r/PurplePillDebate | 12/05/22 07:36 PM |

Frankly, after a couple went through and adopted a baby, I suspect that adoption centres care more for profit than the families or babies. For example: the couple spent 30k on an African American boy in their state; but the mother changed her mind during labor, so the family had to hold another fundraiser and try again. This time, they adopted a girl that… | /r/PurplePillDebate | 11/05/22 10:39 PM |
The sexual strategy of abortionMurder is not practical - but ending a human life can be if it’s done for logical reasons such as survival. If it’s done for cruelty alone (such as hatred toward an ethnic group) then it becomes murder. | /r/PurplePillDebate | 11/05/22 10:13 PM
The sexual strategy of abortionThe thing is, normal people - such as our ancestors - often had to abandon family to die when their numbers exceeded their resources. Excess children, the elderly, etc. Abortion is a modern variation of this tragic concept; it’s also kinder since it’s being performed before the baby has finished developing instead of abandoning a child to die alone, slowly of starvation or disease. | /r/PurplePillDebate | 11/05/22 10:11 PM
The sexual strategy of abortionWhen did I suggest that they weren’t human beings? Lol My justifications are not weak excuses - they are logical reasons that would lead people to abort their pregnancy. Your refusal to understand that is apparent from your emotion laden tangents, rather than logical rebuttals. Then again, I have actually worked for three different hospitals. My personal experiences growing up and work experience led to me developing a more practical attitude than your “good vs evil” perspective. | /r/PurplePillDebate | 11/05/22 09:38 PM

For dating within social circles: Group activities that I’m actively interested in. I actually my current boyfriend through our shared friend group. | 1 | The sexual strategy of abortionIt’s the kinder option because the children are not fully formed and haven’t been born. Unlike our ancestors, when we have to make hard decisions like this, we don’t have to abandon our children or elderly in the woods to save the rest of our family. Abortions are still tragic, but it’s still the kinder option sometimes. You don’t want to hear the various reasons that lead someone to become pro-choice. | 1 | The sexual strategy of abortionOf course, you decide that someone with mental issues must be unfit to discuss morality. In the 60’s, the social climate was different. Admitting that you were pregnant outside of marriage risked social ramifications. In a small town back then, that’s not a small deal. Nowadays adoption is a better option by the social climate is different. But that’s up to the mother to decide - especially if she has health issues, has to take any medications that she would have to quit for the pregnant, etc. | /r/PurplePillDebate | 10/05/22 02:19 PM |
The sexual strategy of abortionIt’s easier to hide the pregnancy from your family when you choose to abort vs 9 months of pregnancy and giving birth. | 1 | The sexual strategy of abortionHard to do that when the mother’s family and father’s family demand that you and the father get married. This was the 60’s and most shotgun weddings happened because of these situations. After 6 years of fist fights and constant arguing, my grandfather walked out on them. This is what I get writing and rewriting long posts on Reddit while I’m sleep deprived. I’m sorry for the miscommunication. | /r/PurplePillDebate | 04/05/22 12:41 PM
To what extent is society aware of how much drugs like birth control, weed, and antidepressants affect women's mate selection?I doubt hormones change your sexual preferences. I was born without a thyroid - which is the organ that regulates ALL of the hormones in your body. I was diagnosed at the hospital and put on meds to substitute my thyroid. Occasionally, my body decides the dose is too or too low. There’s a few symptoms that let me know I need my dose adjusted. In my 29 years alive, my thyroid meds and adjusting my dose has never affected my sexuality/preferences. Now when my dose needs to be adjusted, do I feel t… | /r/PurplePillDebate | 04/05/22 03:15 AM
To what extent is society aware of how much drugs like birth control, weed, and antidepressants affect women's mate selection?I doubt that birth control pills tricking our body into thinking it’s pregnant would result in us entering some “nesting mode” that prefers the “soft, safe provider.” I’m assuming this “nesting mode” lowers women’s libido? Because, while not all women have this experience, a lot of women enjoy higher libido. Primarily during the third trimester. | /r/PurplePillDebate | 04/05/22 02:33 AM
Does female nature lead to toxic households for children?Yeah, she was pretty toxic. But I don’t know what happened to her after that. I only found out because my ex contacted me and he suddenly decided that he missed me. I responded by blocking him. How is it about my ego? If my partner agrees to a monogamous relationship, but secretly he doesn’t actually want that monogamy, how am I wrong for leaving him for cheating on me/telling me he wants a hall pass to whore around later in our relationship by cheating on me. The answer is obvious: he told what… | /r/PurplePillDebate | 03/05/22 11:59 PM

Equality under the law exists between the sexes. Lol I’m not that naive. My ex-boyfriend was my first boyfriend. He convinced me to stay give him a second chance, that he would never cheat again. Millennials and Gen Z’s waiting to have kids later or choosing childless lifestyles more than previous generations makes us an anomaly. But my boyfriend is the exception for putting his family first. | 1 | Does female nature lead to toxic households for children? Here’s a question: How can I trust him not cheat on me again? Cheating spouses are likely to keep cheating. What if he’s cheating on me with more than one woman? Promiscuity increases the risk of getting an STD, and cheating spouses often give their spouse an STD if they get one. What if he knocks up another woman? If my husband cheats, I can’t trust him not to cheat again. I want nothing do those with the potential consequences of cheating, so I will divorce him. All throughout history, men were driven by biology to breed and have a lot of kids and acquire enough resources to make that most of those kids grew up to procreate and carry on his DNA. When people say that biology determines gender differences, they are almost always referring to our sexual organs. They aren’t thinking about the fact that we are a social species, therefore our social environment is going to influence how our brain and how our personal hormone cocktail develops as we grow. If he chooses to move states away for work, I’m willing to split the cost for plane tickets so that our kids can still see him often. Since I would to co-parent, I wouldn’t want child support. If he cheats on me, he will do it with the knowledge that the relationship/marriage is over and must face the consequences his decision. I can agree that our biologies might make men and women, on average, better suited for certain roles. However, in today’s society with our modern technology, women like me - naturally career driven, becoming an NP is a calling to me, prefer providing - and men like my boyfriend - who wants to be a SAHD and focus on his kids, running the home, the home improvement projects he loves, and make his own schedule - and I can pursue my career as the provider and he … | /r/PurplePillDebate | 02/05/22 01:31 AM |
Gender Roles are UnnecessaryWell, my boyfriend and I have agreed he’ll be the SADH and I’ll be the provider based on how personalities and skills. So, when I pay our dinner pay I’m more than happy to. He’s not less masculine to me for wanting to become a SADH. If anything, after being raised by a father that didn’t want me, a man wanting to prioritise fatherhood and be involved with his kids makes a real man/seem more masculine to me. | /r/PurplePillDebate | 02/05/22 12:55 AM

This shows men have it far worse than women. When I’m approached by a man - good looking or otherwise - I always brush his advances off primarily because: A. I’m in a committed relationship. B. I’m busy. (Busy with work, studying or running errands.) In my experience, a lot of men have been socialised to think that’s it’s acceptable to interrupt a woman even when she’s working/busy. It’s apparently acceptable to expect women to stop their task and acknowledge the guy’s interest. IMO It’s rude to interrupt someone that’s clearly trying to w… | /r/PurplePillDebate | 01/05/22 02:36 PM |
Is the only way to increase fertility rate to take away women's rights? If so, why not let fertility rate decline?I understand that, RIGHT NOW, women have the same right to credit lines, etc. But it’s important to understand how recently the average woman has attained many of the same rights as men here in our countries. And how much work there is left for both sexes. Here’s a timeline for various laws regarding women’s rights. https://www.nerdwallet.com/article/credit-cards/women-credit-decades-70s | /r/PurplePillDebate | 20/01/22 09:03 PM

In your high school, how much flirting and/or inappropriate sexual interaction was there between teachers and students?Well, an older woman is free to do that as long as he is a legal adult. I think it’s creepy, even then, but if they’re legal adults it’s their business. Most people here tell adolescents that, too, in America. But we were all teenagers and we all know that most teens are going to do it. They should be encouraged to do it safely and taught about contraception - and they should only be encouraged to date their own age group. | /r/PurplePillDebate | 20/01/22 07:08 PM
In your high school, how much flirting and/or inappropriate sexual interaction was there between teachers and students?People don’t have to put off sex until they’re an adult. It’s not that unheard of here, and banks heavily push for people to open a credit card (with different credit cards that offer bonuses/perks for people with a good credit history). But even in your example, when married women couldn’t have a credit card in their own name, that would’ve also prevented them from renting/putting down a deposit where that’s required. Men should be free to make this determination as well. (And I’m constantly frustrated with other modern Feminists for being more supportive of this.) | 1 | Where does this hate for TRP come from?Sure, that’s what we’re taught. However, in reality, it’s not uncommon for people to maintain eye contact if they’re good liars. As for avoiding eye contact, people have different reasons for. Sometimes it’s dishonesty; it’s a common sign of someone who’s been abused; sometimes it means they’re uncomfortable with some aspect of the situation. | 1 | What do you mean when you say men have fragile egos?“Our masculinity is the foundation by which our very existence rests on…” Why? Both men and women are prone to this, and I have never understood it. I have never valued my femininity as anything more than as physical attributes (no different than my eye color). | 1 | What do you expect to happen when you ask a man to be emotionally vulnerable or available to you? What does this mean?I can see your point - even if the purpose of the phrase “toxic masculinity” is meant to call out negative behavior commonly accepted by society, it’s easy to misconstrue the phrase as an attack on men for various reasons. IMO not enough emphasis is put on “healthy masculinity”; the spotlight is always on “toxic masculinity,” and focusing on only the negative and not the positive (or vice versa) is damaging to the overall message/intent. | /r/PurplePillDebate | 13/12/21 11:33 PM

Where does this hate for TRP come from? But that’s my point: Looking someone in the eyes while talking is not advisable for every social situation - it can be received negatively by people with mental health issues or by different cultures. For example: In American culture, we’re taught to look someone in the eye to signal honesty, whereas refusing to meet someone’s gaze makes you seem dishonest or weak. | 1 | Will advancement and egalitarianism of society lead to a collapse in such societies? If you force children of people like that, many will do the bare minimum and spend their child’s lashing out at them in resentment. That usually causes severe trauma that will be passed on to the next generation, and so on. I’m saying this as someone from a long line of abusive parents. If my grandmother and other unfit mothers like her were free to abort my dad, two generations of trauma could have been avoided. I know people can recover and break the cycle, like my dad’s sister did. But experi… | /r/PurplePillDebate | 13/12/21 07:19 AM
Will advancement and egalitarianism of society lead to a collapse in such societies? No, I wouldn’t prefer to “off” them. I would prefer to make the system better. But at this rate, I don’t see that happening soon. So why should we ban abortion and force women to give birth to unwanted children? | /r/PurplePillDebate | 13/12/21 06:44 AM
One of the reasons why men check out from society is because there is growing, unjustified hostility, disrespect and depreciation against men in general. She only said that she expects the father to be just as involved in childcare and housework as the mother. Everyone has an ideology that affects their decisions. | /r/PurplePillDebate | 13/12/21 12:54 AM

Will advancement and egalitarianism of society lead to a collapse in such societies? No, because forcing people to raise a child they don’t want increases the chances of that child being abused and not cared for properly. If we had an effective foster care system, then maybe. But as it stands, it’s common for those kids to be sexually abused for their caregivers, or to go to well meaning foster parents that don’t have the training to handle kids living with trauma. | /r/PurplePillDebate | 12/12/21 11:16 PM

One of the reasons why men check out from society is because there is growing, unjustified hostility, disrespect and depreciation against men in general. What did she say that was so wrong? She only wants father to procreate and be present to help raise kids outside of monetary provision. What’s wrong that? | /r/PurplePillDebate | 12/12/21 08:53 PM
Will advancement and egalitarianism of society lead to a collapse in such societies?I’m sorry, but a working brain does not justify giving birth to a sickly child that will have a short and sickly life just because aborting them will cause me mental and emotional distress. Death is not only a punishment- it can be used to end suffering. I was born missing an organ, and yet I can thrive because I’ve been on medication to supplant the organ since I was a newborn. You can’t do that for all birth defects, and intentionally giving birth to people that can’t thrive even with medical … | /r/PurplePillDebate | 12/12/21 08:40 PM
Will advancement and egalitarianism of society lead to a collapse in such societies? No, I got that. Why are you calling her a sheep? That’s what I’m asking. | /r/PurplePillDebate | 12/12/21 07:57 PM
Will advancement and egalitarianism of society lead to a collapse in such societies?Having a functional brain doesn’t mean the child is viable. The child could have inherited diseases that would lead to a shorter and sickly life. How can you justify bringing that child into the world to endure that? Terminating the pregnancy is kinder, no matter how much it hurts to admit. | /r/PurplePillDebate | 12/12/21 07:56 PM
Will advancement and egalitarianism of society lead to a collapse in such societies? Not going to lie, the meaning of this comment went over my head. What do you mean by this? | /r/PurplePillDebate | 12/12/21 07:33 PM
Will advancement and egalitarianism of society lead to a collapse in such societies?Have you considered that “replacement level” is subject to change overtime? For example, if there was a baby boom worldwide that drastically increased populations to exceed their country’s resources, maintaining that population by reproducing enough to replace them would have detrimental effects in the long-term. It’s not sustainable. I think that reproducing under replacement level right now is society course correcting to make the population more manageable and thus sustainable. | /r/PurplePillDebate | 12/12/21 07:07 PM

Q4M: I don't understand the complaints about women "riding CC". Do you want women to engage in casual sex or not? They said that they’ve never KNOWN of a woman doing that, not that they’ve never HEARD of it. Frankly, I haven’t known any women that have done that (that I’m aware of). The women that I know either got into relationships with their casual sex partners, or they’ve had relationships of varying lengths and only had sex with those partners. | /r/PurplePillDebate | 19/03/21 08:27 AM
How bad is a dirty old man really?Generally when relatives commit incest, there’s usually a pre-existing history of it in the family. The first experience with incest is usually an older relative taking advantage of a very young child. There’s other ways it happens, but the above is the most common. It’s very sad. | /r/PurplePillDebate | 16/03/21 06:44 PM
How bad is a dirty old man really?First, I think it’s important to consider these modern examples of expanding women’s rights: marital rape wasn’t outlawed until 1993. Women couldn’t open our own credit card unless our husband gave us permission until 1974. So, in the 1960’s, we’re talking about a society in which it’s still perfectly acceptable for men to run women’s lives and even subject women to sexual mistreatment. (I imagine that only minor levels of abuse was acceptable in public; severe abuse was still kept behind closed… | /r/PurplePillDebate | 16/03/21 06:41 PM
