Ah yes. I was that exhausted mom (4 kids!) with the LV husband who did absolutely nothing to help me while he did whatever the f he wanted. I finally left him a few years ago and I’m so much happier, obviously. I was already doing EVERYTHING, but now I don’t have to cater to his moods, clean after him, listen to him breathe, etc. My kids are teens and tweens now, so, while it’s not always smooth sailing, it’s a sweet spot and I’m really enjoying the little buggers at this age. I totally get why …

Spot on. I have 4 kids with my ex-LVM and I was emotionally and financially abused while trying to care for small children by myself for years while he made literally no changes to his lifestyle and had long term affairs throughout our 17 year marriage. Thank goodness it’s more acceptable for women not to have kids and just focus on themselves now. Obviously I love my kids more than anything because they’re here and they’re my babies, but I sacrificed every piece of myself and gave up my career …

THIS is why women are not as interested in marriage as they used to be. I’d say it’s 50/50 amongst my friends. I am 40. Half the women I know are perfectly content being single and either not having kids at all or just use a sperm donor (my kids have two separate close friends who have “donor” dads and the moms are an inspiration- they focused on their careers, picked a donor, got a nanny and skipped all the BS!). The other half are married/in relationships and maybe half of those are happy. I l…

As somebody just getting out of a 15 year marriage with 4 kids, it’s all bullshit. Marriage benefits men waaaay more than women. I’m Getting so much pressure from my family and friends to find somebody new (I’m still hot at 40 thankyouverymuch) but it’s the last think I’d ever want to do again. They’re pushing me onto wealthy single dad douche bags who say “my ex was crazy” and drive Lamborghinis and I’m horrified. For the first time in my life I know I don’t need a man to feel worthy. I want to…

Agreed. I have four kids with my soon-to-be-ex-husband and he’s never lifted a finger to help with raising them. He’s a selfish, entitled narcissist who only wanted to have kids for his image. Thankfully they’re now old enough to see right through him but still have to see him every other weekend. They really want nothing to do with him. His loss.

I now realize that the red flags were there early on but not so glaringly obvious to my young naive self. He got much worse once the kids came and he wasn’t the center of the universe anymore. They can’t handle not being your top priority once you have babies. They get needier, meaner, more selfish, make zero sacrifices and then justify it all because we are so worn down and exhausted caring for their children we don’t have time to take care of their dick on the daily like we used to. They have …
