Honestly if someone was doing that to my girl. I would have taken the drink, walked up to him and poured it onto the floor in front of him. Probably saying "Keep going the ground looks rather thirsty tonight." (Insert laugh) Walk away. Possibly much too confrontational. Drinking the drinks is also a good passive retort.

I see nothing wrong with calling someone. I hate pussy footing about with texts waiting for replies. Honestly I'll call a girl, get to the point, and hang up. I agree, don't let the conversation get sidetracked, but many people don't call others now a days and simply calling someone is assertive in its own right. (i.e. attractive)
