This is not earth-shattering news to women, nor are most women denying this. We have been shouting from the rooftops that women are, in fact, people, just like men, for ages now. Some people do bad things. It's part of human nature that a percentage of people--men and women alike--will display anti-social behavior.

Committed relationships don't necessarily mean marriages. Lots of people are in long-term relationships without being married.

Even in the past, most relationships didn't usually begin through the man cold-approaching the woman, who, at the time, was a complete stranger. That was never the norm.

The average age gap in relationships is only 2-3 years. The majority of relationships do not have a significant age gap. Most women do not want to date much older men.

And I'm sure you think the working partner should automatically be the man. How convenient for your argument. Furthermore, even though this is the arrangement you specifically state is best for society, I'm guessing you'll still go on to bitch about women seeking out providers and being gold diggers.

All of my long-term relationships (5 in total) were with men who started out as friends. Now, these guys weren't super close friends in the sense that we would talk every day and hang out on a one-on-one basis, but they were guys that I knew through my social circles and we would often hang out and party on the weekends in mixed-gender groups.

For me, it’s very telling how so many men claim that they don’t care about a woman’s education or career, or sometimes if she even has a job. For those men (and it seems to be a lot of them), a woman’s looks and her “agreeableness” (sometimes phrased differently) are all they care about.

As a survivor of both sexual assault and domestic violence, nothing infuriates me more than people who downplay our lived experiences or treat us as though we are paranoid or irrational. When you say that it’s “frustrating AF,” I couldn’t agree more. I’ve experienced violence men who were both intimate partners and men who were complete strangers to me. I don’t hate all men or even think the majority of men are bad, but it irritates me to no end when my experiences (and those of other women) are…

You do realize that at age 26, some people are just getting started in their careers, right? Take someone who went to graduate or law school. They very likely aren't going to have the income just yet to be financially self-sufficient. And that's just one example.

So you would be okay with being in a potentially sexless marriage? Because if the woman doesn't genuinely desire you and want to be with you, you're mostly going to have issues in the bedroom.

I am a thin woman who is a mother. I take an antidepressant to ease my anxiety, which I've dealt with for all of my adult life. You have have some really ignorant assumptions about this matter. It's not only fat, childless, single women who are on antidepressants.

According to US census data, only 14.9% of women aged 45 and older are childless. In 2014, 16.7% of women aged 45 and older were childless, so there are actually fewer childless women now than there were a decade ago. Women are simply having kids later in life, and they are having fewer children--often just 2.

I know this is an old post, but the statistic you've provided must refer to younger women. Because as of 2024, 88% of women in the United States aged 45 and older have had at least one child. Women are simply having children at older ages and they are typically fewer children than in the past.

Do you think that this is new/recent behavior? Before feminism, men sometimes used to have whole ass second families that were kept secret. Or sometimes the other woman (and often children) were known to the men's wives, but there really wasn't much the wives could do about it. Even if the woman could prove fault in divorce court due to infidelity, which wasn't an easy feat, it was extremely difficult back then for women to survive financially on their own (and contrary to popular belief, alimon…

It’s actually not an uncommon scenario, usually when the wife is a SAHM. I’m in a lot of mom/women groups on various social media, and the amount of women who experience financial abuse is not low. Gang members and criminals are often surrounded by women who are drug addicts, prostitutes, or criminals themselves. Those women are far more likely than other women to be promiscuous and engage in impulsive, risk-taking behavior. So it's really no surprise that the men you described have far more sex partners than the average man.

Lol It's super common for middle-aged divorced women to forego dating altogether. They often don't want anything to do with men. And many never married older women are perfectly content with their friendships, too. It's the middle-aged divorced men and older single, never married men who are more often desperate for relationships.

And the guy you’re responding doesn’t need to worry about physical and sexual assault from those random women pestering him nearly as much as women do when random men pester them trying to get their attention. For women, it’s sometimes viewed as threatening, depending on the level of harassment.

But this doesn't really have anything to do with casual sex, specifically. Lots of men aren't virgins and have been in long-term serious relationships but haven't had loads of casual sex.

I don't think that's due to lack of success in dating for the women who've been previously married or partnered much of the time. It's common for divorced women, in particular, to opt out of dating altogether. I see it all the time in some of the divorce groups I'm a part of.

Doesn't the data show that even though men swipe on a much higher percentage of women, they send the majority of their messages to the most attractive women? Men even outright say that they swipe on a large number of women without even looking at their profiles because it's a "numbers game." Then if they get matches, they filter out the women they don't like. So I don't think swiping patterns alone really tell too much.

I’ve never had a man I’ve dated ask about my body count or past relationship experience in the early stages of dating. This seems to be a new trend, because I’m in my mid-forties, and nobody outside of those within certain religious communities would ask such questions 20 or 30 years ago. If a guy I was newly dating now asked about my body count, I wouldn’t lie but I wouldn’t answer, either, because I would know right then and there that he wasn’t someone I’d want to date. Men like you are just irate that women no longer need to tether themselves to awful guys in order to survive. It's so very obvious that a lot of the guys in this sub have never been in a relationship. Most relationships these days are egalitarian, but to hear these guys talk, you'd think they are some statistical anomaly.

Respect is a two-way street. One of the reasons the divorce rate is high is that women don’t feel valued and respected in their marriages. You might insist on leading, but lost women aren’t interested in that dynamic. And for good reason. We aren’t children and don’t need our romantic relationships to be modeled after a parent-child dynamic where one person has authority over the other.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/02/26 11:04 PM

I think that was the point. Since TRP views women as children, we are perceived as deserving of less respect.

I’m not sure which country you’re from, but the US doesn’t really have parental leave to speak of. There’s FMLA, but it’s only for a maximum of 12 weeks, and companies don’t have to pay anything during that time so many women have to go back to work extremely soon (sometimes within just days of giving birth). Every other developed country in the world offers robust, paid leave.

If it was a fundamental need to survive, then all of these women who are single would voluntarily date whichever men are available. But they aren't choosing doing that. No it’s not. Most people do not want their romantic relationships to resemble that of a parent-child relationship. It’s fucking weird. It’s also weird that some people think the man should be the leader in the relationship. Again, this resembles a parent-child dynamic and seems totally inappropriate for an adult relationship. Most of us want egalitarian relationships where both partners pull their own weight and work together to compromise on matters.

Most states have gone to default 50/50 custody, unless one of the parents has proven to be abusive or has documented substance abuse problems. There are different ways to implement 50/50 custody. A common way is by doing week-on/week-off (child goes to one parent for a week, and then the other parent for a week, and then continue on the pattern).
/r/PurplePillDebate26/01/26 11:54 PM

He left after 18 years together, and I had no inclination that he would ever do such a thing. Edit: I just wanted to add that my ex and I share 50/50 custody of our son. So it’s not like my son is without his dad.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/01/26 11:09 PM

Damn, dude. My ex loved using my toys on me. You sound kind of lame, to be honest. Also, for the record, I don’t care about a guy watching porn. Ill even watch it with him sometimes.

It honestly doesn't sound like you've ever had sex, or at least much sex, if you think all women are the same in bed.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/01/26 07:47 PM

As a woman who has been with a decent number of men in my life, I can assure you that a big dick is not enough to guarantee good sex. Some of the best sex I've ever had has been with guys who were average in size.

We can probably conceive of rare scenarios where someone who is otherwise a fairly normal person might react a certain way and end up murdering someone. With rape, I don't think there is literally any scenario where something like that accidentally or justifiably happens.

It's not actually very common in the real world for men to freak out over a woman's past (assuming she wasn't like a prostitute, porn star, or something extreme). In fact, it's not even common for guys to ask about "body count" outside of men who are very religious or young and inexperienced themselves.

It always amuses me how so many conservatives view liberals as having that stereotypical look of "short blue hair, covered in tattoos, septum ring, and obese." Like, I am a liberal but men often think I'm a country-music-loving conservative because I look very stereotypically feminine--I'm thin/toned with long blonde-ish hair, and I like to wear makeup and curl my hair. Most of the liberal women I know don't look like what these guys in this sub imagine.

20 years ago, I was attacked while jogging on a bike path and nearly raped. My attacker was a typical middle-aged white guy. Fortunately, someone else came long the path as the guy was on top of me and pulled him off, or I don't know if I would have only been raped or possibly even murdered. My attacker fled but was later apprehended and went on to serve 3.5 years in prison.

I lurk in a couple of conservative tradwife groups on FB. You're absolutely spot-on with conservatives thinking "it couldn't happen to me." I see this play out frequently in those groups when someone mentions if other stay-at-home moms/tradwives have prepared ahead in the event of a potential future divorce. Many women will claim that they don't need to have a backup plan in place because they chose the right husbands and so divorce will never happen to them. Of course, nobody goes into marriage…

I agree with this. Both men and women are in their prime between their mid-twenties and mid-thirties.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/12/25 12:35 PM

The same exact thing happened to me. I'm in several divorce support groups on FB, and women who were SAHMs prior to divorce almost always struggle to a very significant extent.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/12/25 11:24 PM

If having kids and raising them is as important as men claim, then why don't men like you offer to take on that role while your wife works?

Alimony is only awarded in 10% of divorces now. And even if it is awarded, it's often not that much money because your average breadwinner husband doesn't make that much to begin with. The majority of women who were SAHMs and were later faced with divorce struggle a great deal, at least for the first few years after the divorce (if not longer).

Women naturally have more fat. For example, if you look at the body fat percentages of elite athletes, male athletes at that level tend to have between 6-13% body fat, while female athletes tend to have 14-20% body fat. Most women work to the end of their pregnancy and take a short maternity leave (in the US at least). I took 8 weeks off, which were fully paid by company, and then I was right back to work. Not all companies pay employees during their maternity leave, but my point still stands that most women just take a short, company-approved leave from work. Working women aren't taking years off and losing their skills set or damaging their chances at a promotion or raise.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/12/25 06:10 PM

I recently went through a divorce. I joined a number of divorce support groups, some of which were women only. Everything you’ve said is 100% how reality plays out for the majority of women who were SAHMs/homemakers. Alimony is relatively rare. And even when it’s awarded, it’s not much money because the average man doesn’t earn that much money in the first place. The only women making it big after divorce are the former wives of very wealthy men.

I just wanted to chime in here and say that I don't think it's super common for a man to be sent to jail for non-payment of child support. While yes, it can and has happened, there are many, many men who are years behind in child support payments and haven't served a day in jail. Okay, so I'm someone whose relationships started out as friendships. However, when I say that I was friends with my past partners first, I don't mean that they were super close friendships. It was more of a "friend of friends" situation in each case. So for example, I was into the scene in my twenties, and I'd meet guys through some of my other friends at parties and concerts and what not, and then we'd see each other on the weekends at other parties going forward. Eventually we'd hookup after a…

"This is why I always suggest to guys on here to get Chad friends so they can see what raw attraction looks like." This isn't a bad idea. But it's less about Chad's looks and more about how he behaves around women. Most guys who are popular with women have more going for them than just looks or money; they are usually charismatic and often funny.

When you say that men like women, you should specify that men like sex. Even in this sub, you’ll frequently see men say that they don’t enjoy hanging out with women as friends or romantic partners because they think women are boring or annoying. But those same guys still want women because they want access to sex. That’s not exactly men “liking” women-it’s “lusting” after them.

I was going to comment the same thing. You’ll see occasional side discussions about important issues, such as the draft or boys falling behind in school, but the primary focus of the manosphere by far is sex and dating (or the lack thereof, I should say).

The definition of “incel” has changed over the years. To be an incel, a man is not only involuntarily celibate, but he also espouses misogynistic viewpoints. So, not all male virgins (or men who struggle to date/sleep with women) are incels. In the examples you’ve given, you don’t go into detail about whether or not Billy and Dorothy are hateful toward the opposite gender due to their lack of success with sex and dating. If they aren’t hateful, then they aren’t an incel or femcel.

It's always so bizarre to me when I see this type of argument, because it operates from the assumption that women don't work or have their own assets. It's 2025; not 1970. In a decent percentage of modern marriages (45% of marriages, in fact), the husband is not the sole or primary breadwinner. If those couples were to divorce, the man wouldn't lose half of "his" assets, because both partners have assets. I don’t know how many times I’ve heard (or read) people discussing how they learned that a grandfather or some other older relative had lead a double life. They’d have a wife and kids in one place, as well as a secret mistress and maybe kids with her in another place The thing is, people did not openly talk about scandals and controversies back then. Even in my own family, my aunt was a flight attendant in the 60s who never married. Sometime in the late 90s, she told my family that she had given…

Women being physically attracted to men who look a certain way has nothing to do with gender roles. I can find a man with an athletic body type sexually appealing, while also desiring an egalitarian relationship where both partners work, split the bills, and contribute as evenly as possible to the household chores and childcare. And yes, masculine-looking man can prefer egalitarian relationships. Many of the men I've either known or dated fit that description. I don't know where this misconcepti…

I’ve honestly never met a man who wanted to date or marry a virgin outside of super religious circles. Date Psychology also did a survey and found that the majority of men prefer their partners to have had a few previous sexual partners. The minority of men who did say they wanted a virgin were either very young or sexually inexperienced themselves. Older guys and guys who were sexually experienced typically weren’t interested in dating virgins.

As a feminist, I don't believe men should be expected to pay for dates or be the default pursuers. I think you'll find that many actual feminists don't demand these things. I also think that the draft should either be abolished, or it should be compulsory for women as well (ideally the former).

I’ll chime in and say that a comment like that wouldn’t upset or offend me. Where I do draw the line is vulgar comments that are made inappropriately by a guy I either don’t know at all or barely know. Many, if not most, women and (men) who are in their mid-thirties and above who are actively dating are divorced and already have children. Men are not shamed because they don’t want to date single moms or promiscuous women (or older women or fat women). Yes, and this isn’t mentioned enough during conversations about casual sex/hookups. Some people in this sub (who often self-identify as inexperienced) have this preconceived notion that the majority of hookups are pre-planned between two sober people who just met off of an app. While this surely happens sometimes, I think the likelier scenario is that there is drinking beforehand.

Some of those couples keep it casual while others decide to keep dating and end up in long-term relationships. With dating apps, people presumably don’t know each other. In nearly half of American marriages, the husband is not the breadwinner. In 29% of marriages, the husband and wife earn about the same income. These marriages are egalitarian. Regarding your comment about “ancient sexual instincts” and equality, there is research available that suggests ancient people were far more egalitarian than people who came later. Traditional gender roles as we know them now largely developed with the advent of agriculture. Hunter-gatherers likely did not rigid gender roles. For example, there is evidence that the women not only did much of the gathering, but also some of the hunting.

A woman choosing not to date a man does not make her “sadistically misandrist.” I don’t want to date the vast majority of people, including women and men under 35 or over 55. That does not mean that I hate those individuals.

As a liberal woman, I can assure you that many conservative men very much do not care and will still attempt to date us liberals.

Plenty of people cut off or disown their immediate family members who aren’t their spouses because they are are/were abusive or toxic in some way. I’m constantly reading stories from people who stopped interacting with their parents or siblings as a result of abusive or toxic behavior.

I have never once encountered a woman making the claim that withholding sex is a form of domestic abuse, and I spend a decent amount of time perusing female-centered groups on FB and occasionally subs here on Reddit.

There are lots of women who don’t have college degrees. Some examples of jobs that women without college degrees often have include: nursing assistants, hairdressers, teaching paraprofessionals, childcare workers, home health aides, and retail workers.

I’m not suggesting that I would want to cover the whole bill for myself and my date. Instead, I would prefer to split the check with my date. This is incredibly common in Western European countries, so it’s certainly feasible.

There are many older men who want a connection with someone their own age. Again, that may be hard for you to believe, but it’s the truth. I mean, Jeff Bezos is one of the richest men in the world and he’s rumored to be marrying his long-term girlfriend who is in her mid (or maybe even late) fifties very soon. Of course there are men who will only date younger women all the way through their 60s and 70s. I don’t deny that. I’m just telling you that lot of men (and high-value men at that) prefer …

Yeah it’s weird. And I’m really not trying to come across as boasting or anything, but it’s so silly when manosphere types insist that “post-wall” women like myself are rejected left and right or only hit up for casual sex. That’s just not the reality of the situation. Sure, there are undoubtedly plenty of older men who will exclusively date younger women, but there are also plenty of men who don’t want a long-term relationship with someone a decade or more younger than themselves.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/12/24 02:37 PM

Huh. Women are underrepresented in STEM fields, and yet the salaries of men and women in STEM occupations are unequal, as men in those fields continue to have higher median salaries.

I just don't agree with this. I think it's perfectly reasonable for a high-value (for lack of a better term) man to go into a dating situation with an egalitarian mindset and wish to split the bill. I don't think any less of a guy for preferring to do this. I prefer that arrangement myself. Now, I do think there are guys who want to split the bill but are also the type who want a traditional relationship, but one in which the woman works full-time, does all the household chores/cooking, and defe…

Plenty of people do just fine dating when they don't have these specific traits and qualities that you've outlined. For example, I'm 45 and have no shortage of men wanting to date me long-term (not just casual hookups). Lots of men around my own age, for example, already have kids and aren't looking to have more. They want to settle down with a woman their age. This may be incomprehensible to you, but that doesn't change this fact.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/12/24 12:38 AM

Yeah, I can agree with this.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/12/24 12:27 AM

What the fuck?! Um, yeah no. I was with you on the first part of your comment. But the solution is not to recruit male teachers with the prospect of paying them more than female teachers. Obviously, dude. The actual solution is to increase the pay for ALL teachers.

So true. Mental health struggles are nothing new; it’s just that in the past, people with mental health issues were either shamed and ostracized (and sometimes literally institutionalized for absurd reasons) or they simply kept quiet about their struggles and pretended to be okay due to social stigmatization.

What are you implying? Do you think that women don’t work to complete their course work and are simply given degrees?
/r/PurplePillDebate20/12/24 05:38 PM

I don’t think most women are receiving scholarships. I know that I didn’t, and neither did any of my friends. If you can a statistic from a reliable source that shows the percentage of female college students who receive scholarships, I’d love to see it.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/12/24 05:36 PM
1

First off, most women don’t receive scholarships. And second, a scholarship only gets a person funding for their college tuition. That individual has to put in the hard work completing their course work in order to obtain their degree. It’s also important to note that male-only scholarships exist and are increasing in an effort to address the gender imbalance in colleges.

I am only speaking for myself and not any other women. Clearly my thought process largely hinges on the trauma I’ve experienced. I would imagine, though, that most women have a heightened sense of hyper-vigilance when in certain situations similar to those I previously described (walking to a car alone at night, for example). It could partially be a sort of innate fear, and partially fear that has developed as a result of seeing news stories or hearing other women describe their experiences. Whi…

I was vigilant around any strange man regardless of race. It’s not about race or ethnicity but the fact that 99% of men can overpower me.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/12/24 05:15 PM

This is so very true. I was a teen in the 90s before the internet took off and social media was really even a thing and can confirm that young people were usually out and about doing all sorts of things. It was virtually unheard of for a young person to stay home all weekend, much less all the time.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/12/24 12:23 PM

Umm, college degrees aren't handed to women, either. They have to work for them, just like men.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/12/24 10:55 PM
1

I would not consider that to be a social construct, no. In my view, a social construct would mean that I felt fear as a result of consuming media about stranger attacks/assaults or hearing stories from other women and then building anxiety and fear as a result of that.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/12/24 04:59 PM

And because you mentioned race, I’ll add that I’ve been victimized by both a white and a black man. The bike path incident involved a white man and the drugging incident involved a black man.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/12/24 03:10 PM

I can only speak for myself personally, but most of my fear and apprehension comes from lived experience rather than something innate to my being. In my late teens and very early twenties, before any of the above incidents happened to me, I didn’t have nearly the same level of fear. I even walked across a very large college campus a couple times late at night by myself without much of a concern for my safety. I’d go for jogs on bike paths without giving a second thought. That all began to change…

There are people—men and women both—who make sex videos and release them for public view. There are plenty of male porn stars after all. So I’m not sure why you’re making this a gendered thing.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/12/24 03:01 PM

Just a reminder that women are not a monolith and we all have different preferences. For me, personally, I do not need a guy to be over 6’. In fact, the ideal height for me (I’m 5’4”) is around 5’10” or 5’11”. I would consider dating guys over maybe 5’7”, as I just want my partner to be a few inches taller than me.

It’s not just socially constructed, though. Many women, myself included, have actually had awful experiences with men who were strangers. In my life, I have been assaulted on a bike path, drugged in a bar, and followed down a road at night. I have every reason to be wary of strange men. With that said, the vast majority of my encounters with strange men have been perfectly fine. And something else to consider is that a lot of religious women were raised in evangelical homes where purity culture is emphasized. There’s often a lot of trauma and uneasiness or even guilt surrounding sex for women brought up in that type of environment.

/r/PurplePillDebate07/12/24 11:43 PM

I agree with him to an extent. Most women do not have a "must be over 6'" requirement. I'm a relatively attractive woman with options, and I've never had this requirement. It's the same with most of the other women I know. With that being said, I do think there is a minimum height for some women that's closer to 5'7" or so.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/12/24 11:32 PM

You're referring to a dating app survey from like a decade ago. And what guys always conveniently leave out when mentioning this statistic is that women still messaged those guys they didn't automatically label as attractive, so clearly many of those women still expressed interest.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/12/24 11:07 PM

Even with marriage, it's still quite risky for the majority of women. Statistics show that women are far more likely to end up in poverty or severely struggling after divorce than men. Average couples don't have a great deal in assets, so your average stay-at-home mom/housewife ends up in a difficult financial predicament following divorce.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/12/24 01:58 PM

Yes, in “nearly half” (45%) of marriages, the husband is not the sole or primary breadwinner. In egalitarian marriages, there is no sole or primary breadwinner.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/12/24 01:24 PM

/r/PurplePillDebate07/12/24 12:15 PM

You can phrase it out however you want. The point remains that husbands are not the sole or primary breadwinners in nearly half of marriages. In those egalitarian marriages, neither partner can refer to themself as the “primary” breadwinner because both of them are on equal footing.

Many women were fucked over in the past due to not have rights and opportunities that allowed them to be financially secure. They had to partner with men they weren't attracted to or didn't treat them right. And yet, so many guys in the pilled spaces want to return to that time. Why is that?

The data does show that the majority of young men (ages 18-29) are having sex. The most recent General Social Survey data from 2022 shows that only 11% of young men in that age cohort previously mentioned didn’t have sex that year. https://ifstudies.org/blog/is-the-sex-recession-over#:~:text=The%20downward%20trend%20in%20the,slightly%20to%2035%25%20in%202022

In nearly half of American marriages, the husband is not he breadwinner. In those marriages, either the husband and wife earn roughly the same (29%) or the wife is the breadwinner (16%). So in this day and age, it shouldn’t be too difficult to find women who earn good incomes and already have their own assets.

I'll share a different perspective. I have a son who is almost 15. My husband (son's father) and I are going through a divorce because he decided to have an affair and essentially leave me for the other woman. My son is handling it very well, and he's not at all happy with his father, especially because my ex has suddenly turned very nasty toward me. I share this information not to gloat or make HappyCat feel bad, but to show that every situation is different and every kid will react differently…

I've never really separated guys into categories like that. All of my relationships started out casually as sort of FWB situationships and then progressed to serious, long-term relationships. And no, I was never intimidated by my partners.

The vast majority of people in general (both women and men) have at least some baggage as they grow older. But everyone deals with their life experiences differently. You might view a specific woman as having baggage, but it may not really affect her like you think it does. Like, I’ve had a handful of long-term relationships. None of those relationships involved drama or trauma, with the exception of my marriage. And even then, it hasn’t jaded me to men (non “pilled”/manosphere men, that is) or …

And yet, when guys were yammering on about the sexlessness rate a couple years ago, they were referring to the General Social Survey from prior to 2022–the exact same survey as I cited. Funny how that works—-the data is useful when it’s convenient for your narrative, and it’s useless when it’s not. You do realize that men can be technically single—meaning not in a serious, long-term relationship—and still be having sex, right?

Sure, it seems that you’re describing the more radical, activist type feminists, and I would certainly agree that those women are more likely to remain childless. The majority of us who identify as feminists don’t fit that radical stereotype. We’re just normal people who have left-leaning views.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/11/24 01:11 PM

It’s tough out there for many people. I’ll be the first to admit that dating apps are brutal for a lot of men. I really think dating through social circles is the best way to go, but that is also difficult if you’re an introvert or have social anxiety or whatever.

So, this should go for both genders then. If a 350 lb. woman with a very unattractive face asks you out on a date, then you are obligated to go on that date with her. Otherwise you are being mean to all women, and we wouldn’t want to vote your rights away, now would we?

Let’s be honest: When you say women should be “nice” to men or else their rights will be voted away, you really mean that women need to fuck men in order to preserve their rights. There are zero states where anyone is convicted of crimes related to infidelity. And in most states, infidelity isn’t even a consideration in divorce proceedings. I’m in a no-fault state. I really don't think this is happening with any sort of statistically meaningful frequency. Instead, I'd say there are the following two factors at play: 1.) Some young women are dating guys a few years older than themselves. 2.) Some young couples disagree on their relationship status. What are MRAs doing, specifically, to address the higher education issue with boys and young men? Shouting about women and feminism does not constitute doing anything productive. /r/PurplePillDebate27/10/24 06:50 PM

Yeah, seems to be the case for some. It’s just absurd to blame this on women and feminism. Boys have to actually take the initiative to apply to college in order to be admitted. We need to find out why more boys and young men don’t view college as an appealing prospect.

“That my friend is the origin of misogyny.” You can’t be serious with that claim. Misogyny has existed for millenia, long before women even attained equal rights. Misogyny is usually rooted in feelings of male superiority and failure to view women as people.

Most women want to date men who are taller than themselves. The average woman is only 5’4”, so the vast majority of men are taller than most women. The “must be over 6’” social media obsession is very much limited to a minority of women who are on the dating apps. If you look around anywhere out in public, you will see tons of men under 6’ partnered up. And if you talk to actual women (rather than go by Tik Tok reeks), you will find that most women prioritize facial attractiveness.

Again, the women those guys get with are generally troubled themselves. I’m a long-term recovering alcoholic. When I was in rehab years ago, I met hundreds of fellow recovering addicts and alcoholics. And you’re right that some of the guys were popular with the women. But the women were just like them—they often had criminal records and were recovering addicts and alcoholics themselves.

Most of us married guys who led similar lives as we did. I don’t know one woman who ended up marrying the inexperienced beta bucks type that the manosphere mythologizes.

As a woman, I disagree. An attractive face takes precedent over other features. I e heard most women suggest the same 🤷‍♀️
/r/PurplePillDebate27/10/24 11:56 AM

And you don't think thin women have this problem but in reverse? As a thin woman, the majority of men around my age are either overweight or obese. So this argument really doesn't make sense from a gendered perspective. Most women *and* men are fat. If you're a thin, fit person and you want to date someone similar to yourself, you're obviously going to have a smaller pool of people to choose from.

/r/PurplePillDebate26/10/24 09:41 PM

Yeah, this describes me well. This discussion and the comments are so interesting to me, because I'm the opposite of a late bloomer. I was very popular and sociable in high school and college (really all through my twenties), and now I'm quite introverted and don't really socialize with anyone outside of my family. I developed social anxiety over the last decade, and I fear that I will never break out of my shell again.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/10/24 06:29 PM

Why is height included by not body type? Both of those are related to looks, and neither can be changed. A woman can't change her core body structure through weight loss and exercise. For example, I have a slender, athletic body type and I'm not very curvy. I will never be able to achieve the hourglass figure.

Facial attractiveness generally matters more than any other physical trait.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/10/24 05:58 PM

And what I’m saying is that there are plenty of men who do value those things. It’s important to them when vetting women early on while dating. The type of men who say they couldn’t care less if a woman is a cashier or a lawyer are typically not going to be viewed as great dating prospects.

Where are you getting your information from that these violent men are dating educated, middle-class or higher women? Rage-bait manosphere content does not count as evidence.

Who do you think those violent men with felony records are dating? It’s typically not the college-educated woman with a good career who has her life together. No, those men usually date and fuck women who have a criminal history, drug/alcohol issues, or trauma from an abusive past.

Are you serious? Those things are a fundamental part of a person’s life. Of course they are important.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/10/24 06:38 PM

Because a person’s career, educational background, and social standing are all important aspects of their life and who they are. When a guy says he doesn’t care about those things, it really comes across as though he doesn’t care about a woman’s accomplishments and experiences.

It’s not about trying to buy happiness. It’s about making sure that we have secure employment and income in the event that something goes wrong in our relationship or marriage. Being entirely financially dependent on someone else is such a terribly risky thing to do. Most of us personally know at least woman who was a SAHM and blindsided by divorce, and then ultimately left in a horrible predicament.

(My attacker was apprehended and went on to serve 3.5 years out of an 8-year sentence.) A year later, I was drugged and raped by yet another man who was a stranger. As a thin, fit woman, I prefer to date guys who are also in shape and at a healthy weight. I think it’s perfectly reasonable for people to want to date those who lead similar lifestyles. The people who shame men for simply stating their preferences are ridiculous. However, it’s often the case that men not only state their preferences, but do so in a way that shames or insults the group of women they aren’t attracted to. So, if a guy says he doesn’t want to date landwhales, that’s of course to going to get pushback, and for good reason.

There are significant biological differences between men and women. Even a shorter, thin man can overpower the vast, vast majority of women. Also, you don’t get to speak for women and their own experiences and concerns.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/10/24 12:20 PM
2

The vast, vast majority of men can overpower the vast, vast majority of women. I’ve read that by the time most teen boys are like 14, they are stronger than the majority of adult women. So, size really doesn’t matter so much. A short, thin man is still going to have a very significant strength advantage over most women due to biological differences.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/10/24 12:15 PM

You can choose not to believe me, and you won’t because what you’re hearing doesn’t conform to your preconceived worldview about only men being screwed over. Most couples will go their entire lives without needing to protect one another in a life-or-death scenario. This is such a silly thing for dudes to harp on. This is inaccurate. In 2022, the rates of sexual activity among young people reached highs not seen in 25 years. Only 12% of young women and 11% of young men didn’t have sex that year. Sometimes women just opt not to date, and it's not due to lack of male interest. For example, I'm going through a divorce and have been on the dating apps for a few months. There are plenty of great guys I've matched with on there, but I'm just unsure if I want to date again. So I'm just pointing out that some women choose to be single and aren't forced into singledom due to lack of interest.

It always strikes me as odd that so many guys here seem to think that the only ways to date are either through the dating apps or by cold-approaching complete strangers. Throughout most of history, most people dated through their social circles or through common places of interaction, like school, college, the workplace, church, or hobby groups. That is still a far more common way to date than through cold approaching.

My husband left me for a woman the same age as me. And he’s a stereotypical Chad type and easily could have dated a much younger woman. Many guys care about looks but also having things in common with their partners. A 41 year-old isn’t going to have much of anything in common with a 22 year-old.

Class issues aren’t discussed enough in this sub. Lower-income people in general tend to not have a lengthy list of standards they expect when seeking out partners. Brute force. There's no denying that men are superior in terms of strength and physicality. However, men have never been inherently more intelligent than women. Men simply forbade women from fully participating in education and the workforce until relatively recently.

It would seem that there are more women than men who can be classified as morbidly obese. I’m a recovering addict and alcoholic, so I unfortunately have experience with addiction and know many people who have gone through addiction. For some, jail is preferable to homelessness. You have a roof over your head and you don’t need to worry about finding food. Others may find homelessness preferable to jail. Both situations are obviously awful.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/09/24 12:00 PM
2

That’s not how I view attractiveness. There is a small percentage of men that I find very attractive and a small percentage that I think are ugly. In between those extremes, the majority of men are just average in my opinion.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/09/24 11:57 AM

He also doesn’t seem to understand just how bad alcoholism can be. As a recovering alcoholic, some of the saddest and worst addiction stories I’ve heard in treatment and AA rooms were told by alcoholics. Alcoholism can be every bit as awful as addiction to hard drugs.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/09/24 09:40 PM

Addicts and alcoholics will sometimes collect them and sell them for drinking or drug money.

Are you serious right now? Homelessness is absolute rock bottom. The only thing lower than homelessness is death.

I’m from a small rural Midwestern town where most of the people are unhealthy and overweight or obese conservative MAGA types. Yes, those men often have more children than the average, and yet they surely couldn’t run a mile and are in terrible shape. And the women are equally fat and unhealthy. So this isn’t the gotcha that you think it is.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/09/24 02:20 PM

Most men still marry and have children, they are just doing so later in life.

Your comment has absolutely nothing to do with the topic at hand.

Relationships don’t always last. I’m still friends with most of my exes. We just grew in different directions. Now my soon-to-be ex-husband had an affair, which obviously isn’t my fault. I’ve been sick with a chronic gastrointestinal disorder for about a year and a half, and that wasn’t fun for him, so he bailed. I still intend to remain on friendly terms with him for the sake of our son since we will be co-parenting.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/09/24 12:29 PM

Huh?? My comments all have 9 or 10 upvotes. You might want to check your vision.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/09/24 05:59 PM

I don’t think your views are unreasonable. It’s really just the hardcore MAGA types that I find to be obnoxious.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/09/24 03:15 PM

Yeah, I should have explained in the first comment that these guys aren’t far-left. I don’t even know anyone in real life who is radically political.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/09/24 01:22 PM
1

What are you talking about? Do you even have female family members? Men are not “simping” for their mothers, wives, and daughters.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/09/24 12:05 PM

Creative types are always an exception. But typically, wealthy people will vote Republican and often solely for financial reasons.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/09/24 12:00 PM

Exactly, they aren’t unique! That was my point in the first place. There are a lot of traditionally masculine men who aren’t conservatives.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/09/24 07:06 PM

Lmao, okay dude.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/09/24 07:05 PM
7

Most people aren’t radical activists, regardless of party affiliation or views.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/09/24 07:03 PM

More than likely those guys vote Republican because they are extremely wealthy, and we all know that Republicans favor tax breaks for the wealthiest. That doesn’t necessarily mean that they hold conservative values on social issues.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/09/24 06:58 PM
1

I agree with you about clubs but bars are usually a different story.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/09/24 06:33 PM

Yeah, I should clarify that when I say that these guys are liberal, they aren’t far-left, radical types. Like, they aren’t social justice warriors or whatever. They just vote Democrat and prefer egalitarian relationships. They also support women’s causes.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/09/24 05:41 PM

Where are you getting the information that most of pro sports players are conservatives? As for your personal experiences with people you know, it just sounds like we’ve known very different types of athletic men. Maybe it’s due to different areas where we live.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/09/24 05:38 PM

Exactly! I’m from a small rural Midwestern town where the vast majority of people are conservative. And most of those people are either overweight and obese. Now I live in the suburbs of a large city where many of the residents are liberals, and the percentage of men and women who are thin and fit is much, much higher.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/09/24 05:35 PM

Anecdotes are relevant. And considering that a large chunk of guys in this sub openly admit that they have either zero friends or a very small social circle, it’s likely that they don’t even know enough people in real life to make judgments on this topic.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/09/24 04:40 PM

Lmao You don’t know these guys, so you have no idea what you’re taking about.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/09/24 04:37 PM

Listen buddy, a D1 college football player is going to be stronger and more athletic than the vast majority of men. You can cite sources all day long for all I care. I’m simply sharing my experiences, which indicate that some liberals are traditionally masculine in terms of physical prowess.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/09/24 04:36 PM

Again, this has not been my experience, nor has it been my observation of other men I’ve known. My ex-husband, for example, is a life-long Democrat who champions liberal social causes, and he was a collegiate football player. That’s about as traditionally masculine as you can get. Another ex of mine was a star wrestler, and he was also a liberal.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/09/24 03:16 PM

Most of the guys I’ve dated and been in relationships were current or former high school or collegiate athletes who were also liberal. This notion that only conservative men can have traditionally masculine physical features and capabilities is false.

Well, that’s certainly an opinion. Many will disagree with you that those other jobs are more important than teaching.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/09/24 12:02 PM

/r/PurplePillDebate23/09/24 04:23 PM

Statistics show that college-educated people earn more on average than people with a high school diploma or GED. So, if we are measuring success by earned income, then having a college degree is likely to make one more successful than others.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/09/24 04:08 PM

I hate the process of dating, too, due to my social anxiety. It’s so nerve-wracking. In the past, I always dated guys who were part of my social circle. Now that I’m single again after many years of being married, I am trying the dating apps for the first time, and the thought of going on dates with strangers is so very stressful. So, I completely understand where you’re coming from.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/09/24 03:52 PM

Of course people are deciding whether or not they find a particular person attractive or not. But most are not evaluating prospective dates along some rigid 1-10 rating scale, and then determining whether that person is their “looksmatch.”
/r/PurplePillDebate23/09/24 11:54 AM

Things may end up working out that way, but most people don’t go into dating sorting potential dates by level of attractiveness.

It’s most likely that the woman in the relationship would be punished in that scenario. Sometimes it’s the woman’s own family who murders her for bringing shame upon them. This is referred to as an “honor killing.”

About the homework issue, I can tell you that that’s certainly not the case for my son who is a freshman in high school. He sometimes has two hours of homework per night. Wow, I’m not going to entertain this drivel for long. I’m going to go out in a limb and speculate that you’re not even a parent. My son had a fabulous time with his little buddies in an in-home daycare and then in preschool. He preferred that over being home stuck with me 24/7, all day, every single day. I also had flexibility in my career to work remotely often and was able to spend plenty of time with my son. Yes, not every single waking hour of the day, but not every family does—or even should—operate that way. Also, the nerve of you, a complete stranger, to insinuate that my son wasn’t raised properly. So much wrong here. Sex is not a need. There are millions of adults worldwide who survive without having sex for years on end, and for some, even their entire lives. Might some of those people not be super happy about their situation? Quite possibly, but that doesn’t change the fact that sex for most is a strong want, not a need. And second, unless a woman is raped or somehow coerced against her will into having sex, she is most likely choosing to sleep with a guy because she desires sex, too. I…

/r/PurplePillDebate19/09/24 12:30 AM

I highly doubt that’s a major factor for most men considering employment options. It’s mostly that teachers don’t get paid worth shit, and teaching isn’t considered a high enough status job.

Men often don’t want to be teachers because the pay is quite low. If we increased wages for teachers, I bet that a lot more men would be interested in choosing teaching as their profession.

I don’t personally have an issue with extreme age gaps so long as the younger partner isn’t super young, like under 22 or 23. A 45 year-old dating a 29 year-old is far different than a 36 year-old dating a 20 year-old. It’s the same age gap, but in the latter example, the younger partner has had barely any life experience as an adult, which makes the situation rife with possibilities of abuse and control.

I'm a divorced woman who is dating, and this is simply not true. There are a lot of divorced dads out there (especially after age 40), and most of them are looking to date women who are also divorced with children.

"you'll be able to divorce rape him" Why do you automatically assume that her husband is the breadwinner? As of 2022, only 55% of married men are the sole or primary breadwinners of their families. And the figure decreases year-by-year.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/09/24 03:51 PM

Yeah, it’s one thing to go out drinking on a date with a guy you’ve known for some time. It’s an entirely different situation to go grab drinks with a guy from a dating app who is essentially a complete stranger. A bit of chatting for a few days prior to a date isn’t nearly enough to gauge if the guy has ulterior motives and is potentially dangerous. Adding alcohol into the mix is a good way for a man with ill intentions to prey on a woman.

You are more than welcome to ignore posts and videos of women on social media complaining about bad men they’ve dated. There’s absolutely no need to intervene and control their dating choices, though. It’s none of your business. If social media riles you up so much, disengage and do something else with your time. And let’s be real: The real reason you wish to control women’s dating lives is because you want your own personal girlfriend/wife ordered or forced to be with you. You don’t directly sa…

This is a load of BS. The majority of men want sex very soon; not just fuckboys. Ask any woman who dates. You wouldn’t know this, because you presumably don’t date men. I have no issue with sleeping with someone early on, nor do I care about being called a hoe. I’m just pointing out that your assumption that only attractive player types want sex early on is wrong.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/09/24 07:22 PM

Again, college-educated women have the longest-lasting marriages. This is a statistical fact. It’s irrelevant who files in those minority of marriages that do end.

Interesting, because most men want sex on the first date, or at the very least, the second or third date. So basically, men have this fantasy where women remain pure and innocent their entire lives until they meet them, at which point, those women instantly become hoes—but only for them, of course.

From what I’ve observed, red pillers used to be primarily about “spinning plates,” or having lots of casual sex with different partners. In the last couple years, though, there seems to have been a shift in red-pill thinking and aims. Now, it seems as though red pillers are all about adopting tradcon beliefs and values. First off, many women choose to continue their careers, even if they could feasibly stay home. Having financial independence is extremely important, considering that anything could go wrong in a marriage. Plus, lots of women find joy and purpose in their careers. When I was assaulted while jogging on a bike path, I was wearing mid-thigh-length shorts and my boyfriend’s old baggy T-shirt. I was also sweating profusely from nearing the end of a 5-mile jog on a blazing hot July afternoon. Bad men don’t rape because of clothing. That myth needs to die out already. For further evidence of this, just look at the major rape epidemic in places like India and Egypt. Women there are usually covered head-to-toe, yet rape happens on a regular basis.

It’s not so simple as “bye…I’m out of this relationship” when you have children and your entire life is intertwined with your partner. Women often stay in less than ideal relationships/marriages because they desperately want to make it work. I’m sure some men do the same thing.

No, I don’t think so. Because I don’t believe that men are naturally rapists. Some men will rape, but they don’t represent the majority of men. It’s also important to note that rape happens often in places like India and Egypt where women have far less rights than women in the West have. So, I think it comes down to both individual men’s inclination to rape and cultural attitudes toward women in any given society.

And none of my long-term boyfriends, as well as my ex-husband, were interested in having a traditional relationship.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/08/24 06:47 PM

Here’s the thing: Most couples don’t have much in the way of assets, and this is particularly true of couples who divorce earlier in life. It just seems that every time a discussion on this topic occurs, the default assumption from red pillers is that the majority of people are swimming in money. But that’s just not true for average Americans. Most women aren’t going to walk away from a divorce financially set for years to come. I’m in a couple of divorce support groups for women, and most of th…

Are you still in grade school, by any chance? You seem to be very young and a bit oblivious to things.

No, using nature as an excuse to rape women is what’s depressing and horrifying. Men are not wild animals; they are human, and they are accountable for the choices they make.

I’m not complaining about all men just because my marriage fell apart. My husband was mostly a great husband and father, even though things didn’t work out in the end. I have actually had positive experiences with dating in the past, too, and speak fondly of my exes. I’m even friends with most of my exes on social media.

Yes, I said that in 45% of marriages, the husband is not the breadwinner. As you pointed out, in 55% of marriages, the husband is the main (though not necessarily sole) provider. My point is that nearly half of marriages is a very significant number. Keep in mind that out of the 55% of marriages where the husband is the breadwinner, about half of the wives work but don’t make as much money as their husbands. So, again, tradwives are not the norm.

Oh, I didn’t realize that.

You do realize that a couple can divorce for reasons other than the man being misogynistic, right? A man can even end up doing something morally wrong while not hating women.

This comment thread is depressing and horrifying. What a horribly misandrist take. Dudes like you will say shit like this and then whine and complain about women choosing the bear over a man.

I’m inclined to agree that the percentage of men who would rape is higher than what criminal statistics indicate, considering that rape is the most underreported crime (and even when reported, the conviction rate is low). I definitely don’t think it’s the majority of men, but it’s almost certainly higher than many would think.

I read through posts and comment where I want to contribute to the discussion at hand.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/08/24 08:21 PM

The tradwife movement doesn't reflect trends that are actually happening offline. The majority of women work, including married women, and the stats back this up. Only 26% of mothers are stay-at-home parents. Dads make up 18% of stay-at-home parents in the US | Pew Research Center And in nearly half of marriages (45%), the husband is not the breadwinner. In those marriages, either the husband and wife earn about the same income or the wife is the breadwinner. Husbands and Wives Earn Similar Wage…

Elon Musk is asexual??!! Sure, that would totally explain why he has fathered a bunch of kids with different women. 🙄

DINK couples make up a significant percentage of the population. '“This idea and household configuration of dual-income partners living alone without children is on the rise,” according to Misty L. Heggeness, an associate research scientist at the University of Kansas’ Institute for Policy and Social Research. “In 2022, it was around 43% of households, and that’s about a 7% increase from a decade previously.”' What DINK 'dual income, no kids' trend means for your money (cnbc.com)

Why are you concerned with how random single women are conducting their lives?

The guys I dated were simply not misogynistic dorks who lacked respect for women.

I agree. I’ve always made sure to maintain my appearance, even after being in a relationship for many years.

It’s not that women are chasing after a small number of men. It’s that they prefer being single and don’t want to date at all.

Athletic men aren’t necessarily red-pill types. The guys I’ve dated were anything but red pilled. They were normies who would have laughed at all of the manosphere nonsense.

Actually athletic. My ex-husband played college football and my first boyfriend was a wrestler who placed at state in high school.

I just did some researching on homeless shelters in my area. For context, I live in a large Midwestern city. There are separate men's and women's shelters here.

Often the athletic guy is also attractive and sociable.

I have always dated men who were strong and athletic. Lots of women are attracted to men who are athletic. I've also played coed sports, including volleyball and kickball, and I have definitely known couples who met through their sporting leagues. It's definitely a thing.

Women don't need a man to survive on their own. If they can't afford to live on their own, then can live with female roommates, which a lot of women do. Plenty of single women do just fine surviving on their own income alone.

I don’t think most relationships are transactional in nature. Some are, sure, but the majority these days aren’t. With women working and earning their own incomes, most relationships have become egalitarian.

Because it doesn’t seem like you were socialized around girls when you were growing up. Pretty much everyone who attended school with girls knows that some of them can be awful.

But it’s completely untrue that most women require some sort of compensation to have sex. Like, that’s just blatantly false.

Were you homeschooled, by any chance?
/r/PurplePillDebate23/08/24 11:01 PM

Yeah, this post reads as though OP had a very sheltered childhood with little to no interactions with girls and women. I wonder if he was homeschooled, because I seriously don't understand how someone makes it all the way through grade school and high school not observing girls in his classes behaving terribly. Or even just seeing women out in public spaces sometimes acting rude or aggressive.

This is sold advice right here. That act some guys put on where they are trying way too hard to be cocky is very cringeworthy and annoying.

Guys with high body counts are typically party types who spend a lot of time hanging out in mixed-gender groups at parties and bars or other social events. Personality goes a long way in these situations.
