3	Do muscles matter? Something to keep in mind, if you're going to lose fat, do so while continuing to lift as heavy as you can. Your lifts will go slightly down, but you'll maintain muscle rather than just wasting away. Rule of thumb: Diet controls whether you gain or lose weight.
