Because to me MGTOW doesn't mean completely cutting out dating. It's about staying focused on yourself and not being dependant on women. I'm sure there are other men who choose to completely cut women out of their lives and that's perfectly fine

That's the thing. From my point of view you should strive for perfection all your life. Perfection is always moving, you can chase it but you can never catch it. There's always a thing or two that you can improve to live a better life. That doesn't mean you can't have fun or take a day off to relax. All I'm saying is spend your time wisely and meaningful because sooner or later you'll realize that we have less of it than we think. Be happy, but never satisfied.

I've read his "Book of the 5 Rings". I can really recommend it. Despite being mainly about martial arts and the way of the Sword you can apply a lot of his wisdom to everyday life.
