No but it literally makes the problems feel less awful, it’s scientifically proven. It also creates bonding between people.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/08/26 09:03 AM

Well how do you hope to have a long term relationship with women if you don’t like spending time with women and don’t have anything in common with women?
/r/PurplePillDebate06/08/26 09:01 AM

Thats not an ulterior motive. Thats a normal motive for wanting to have friends. An ulterior motive implies a deceptive malicious intent underneath.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/08/26 08:14 AM

That’s how people have mental breakdowns. Talking to people about your troubles is proven to lower cortisol and increase oxytocin. We’re literally biologically evolved talk about our problems with others.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/08/26 05:57 PM
2

Who do you ask for support with your “mess” if not your friends?
/r/PurplePillDebate05/08/26 05:47 PM
2

They’re not real friends if you can’t be yourself with them.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/08/26 05:42 PM
2

Sure, but also friends are an opportunity to let your freak out and that’s important
/r/PurplePillDebate05/08/26 05:28 PM
2

I wouldn’t be like that to just anyone, but what’s the point of close friends if you can’t unmask with them?
/r/PurplePillDebate05/08/26 05:21 PM
2

Maybe I’m very autistic and intense but I say stuff like that to my nearest and dearest
/r/PurplePillDebate05/08/26 05:19 PM
2

Yeah so? It’s still not an ulterior motive. If your friend asked you why you were friends with them you’d be able to say why you liked them?
/r/PurplePillDebate05/08/26 03:38 PM
2

What’s that got to do with anything?
/r/PurplePillDebate05/08/26 03:34 PM
10

Weird, women tell each other these things all the time.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/08/26 03:11 PM
3

Yeah, that’s not an ulterior motive.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/08/26 02:50 PM
9

Wtf? No they aren’t. People have friends because they like spending time with them.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/08/26 02:45 PM
4

If they’re only being friends with women to try and get laid then yeah they should stay away from them. The fact that they can’t imagine just being friends with a woman with no ulterior motive is a problem.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/08/26 02:08 PM

Anyway I’ve no desire to have a debate about biological advantages in sports. People try to debate that with me all the time as a trans person, and it’s tiresome. Sports are inherently unfair.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/08/26 01:14 PM
2

So you’re just ignoring the 30% sexual assault rates? The second worst field for sexual harassment is tech.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/08/26 01:04 PM
1

But that’s my point exactly, it’s not just about “natural advantage”, it’s about training.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/08/26 12:57 PM
2

Nope. Men in construction are deeply sexist. Most women won’t walk past a construction crew because they know they’ll get catcalled.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/08/26 12:27 PM

I’m not, you’re trying to ignore the very real risk to safety and well-being for a lone woman to enter a male-dominated workforce.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/08/26 12:26 PM
0

It’s absolutely because of the men who work in those fields.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/08/26 12:25 PM
-1

But it’s also down to training. Serena Williams would beat most average men in tennis. The fact that loads of average men think they’d have a chance in a match against her is laughable. A builder or a plasterer has to develop particular muscles and stamina as part of their training, there’s no reason a woman couldn’t do this.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/08/26 12:23 PM
-1

It’s sexist af to assume there are no women out there who have the physical strength to be able to do this sort of job.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/08/26 11:58 AM

Perceiving it as male dominated is code for not being safe.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/08/26 11:52 AM
-2

Really sick of the “women need men to do the hard jobs they don’t want to do”. Women are more than capable of working in construction, doing hard labour, entering the military, whatever male dominated field you can think of. The idea that women are incapable of doing hard labour is sexist af. The reason they often don’t enter these fields? They are rife with sexual harassment. Unite the Union found that 70% of women in construction had experienced sexual harassment and 31% had been sexually assa…
/r/PurplePillDebate05/08/26 11:37 AM

Because it’s a boy’s club, and men in these environments engage in sexist undermining and sexual harassment of women specifically because they want it to remain so. Would you sign up to work in a field where you were ridiculed and sexually harassed every day?
/r/PurplePillDebate05/08/26 11:19 AM

Unite the Union here in the UK found 70% of women in construction workplaces had experienced sexism and 31% had been sexually assaulted at work. It’s the most prevalent of any sector, the second most being tech. https://constructionmanagement.co.uk/sexual-harassment-survey-highlights-prevalence-in-construction/

You all need to stop misusing the term Gaslighting. You’re not in an abusive relationship with all women.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/08/26 10:25 AM

Mostly that’s because of sexism within the industry, not because of women’s inability or unwillingness to do the job.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/08/26 10:18 AM

What on earth would her being trans have to do with it?
/r/PurplePillDebate05/08/26 09:09 AM

Where’s your evidence for that? Why shouldn’t women also do the manual labour? I know lots of women would prefer to hire a woman.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/08/26 08:59 AM

Women in the construction industry is increasing exponentially.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/08/26 08:33 AM

All of my Gen Z nieces are in relationships with women. That generation are wholesale giving up on men.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/08/26 08:23 AM

It’s not speculation, the data specifically shows that most of the IPV bi and lesbian women experience has come from men
/r/PurplePillDebate05/08/26 08:22 AM

Women are tough as nails, they can do all the hard stuff without men
/r/PurplePillDebate05/08/26 08:21 AM

People still meet partners at work, but again it’s about getting to know someone gradually, not suddenly hitting on your colleague.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/08/26 07:14 AM

Just having to enjoy them second hand in other people is very sad
/r/PurplePillDebate05/08/26 07:07 AM

I mean yeah if you want to be a man just be one. I know lots of men who have done this.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/08/26 05:54 PM

Masculinity and femininity are solely about aesthetics. Everything else is harmful gender stereotypes.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/08/26 05:51 PM
2

If you crave femininity, just be feminine. What’s stopping you? Go get some lip filler and your nails done.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/08/26 05:49 PM

Scoff all you want, it’s clearly your go-to defence mechanism. But you can’t blame me for wondering what the man who can’t be sincere is so afraid of.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/08/26 03:14 PM

Yeah hiding your increasing aggression and personal attacks behind “humour”, lol classic man tactic but it’s very transparent.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/08/26 02:59 PM
1

Men’s biggest fear is humiliation. It informs nearly all of their behaviour.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/08/26 02:57 PM

The only human emotion you seem to understand is anger.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/08/26 02:40 PM

It’s genuinely baffling to me that anyone would even want sex if there was no personal connection with the other person. May as well just use a fleshlight if it’s just about sticking your dick in something.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/08/26 08:48 AM
1

Of course. Glamour is absolutely witchcraft.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/08/26 07:55 AM
1

A threat why? That’s not generally the feedback I get, even from men. Often they do open up to me but they find it difficult to put their emotions into words because they do it so rarely. I’ve witnessed this a lot. I guess my question is why do young boys learn it’s unsafe to express their emotions? Something is going very wrong there.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/08/26 06:27 AM

I’ve no idea what that is
/r/PurplePillDebate04/08/26 06:20 AM

You clearly don’t understand romance then, which is what I said. Classical romance is full of tragedy and morally questionable characters. Have you never been to the opera?
/r/PurplePillDebate03/08/26 07:58 PM

We clearly didn’t watch the same movie. Being yearned for across oceans is romantic af. Women’s literature is full of yearning.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/08/26 07:24 PM

I’m not changing the subject at all, I’m summarising what I think is the crux of the debate. It’s utterly bizarre to me that we watched the same movie and you didn’t take away any of the romantic themes.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/08/26 06:51 PM

That’s so fucked up. I’ve genuinely no idea why anyone would get married.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/08/26 05:33 PM

I think the thing you’re all missing when you speak of women’s attraction is you don’t understand the concept of things being romantic
/r/PurplePillDebate03/08/26 05:21 PM

Because more often than not it is harassment. My friend was followed home the other day by some guy saying repeatedly “pretty legs gonna get you” and she was terrified.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/08/26 05:19 PM

My flair is OG Red pill, as in the meaning originally meant by the Wachowski Sisters
/r/PurplePillDebate03/08/26 05:06 PM

Who can do that?
/r/PurplePillDebate03/08/26 05:06 PM

Yet lots of women were swooning over Nosferatu, a literal corpse.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/08/26 05:03 PM
0

There is no such thing as “objective fact” when it comes to attraction. It’s a completely subjective opinion. But the monster is ugly? He’s literally sewn together corpses. Nosferatu is literally a corpse, yet the woman falls in love with him because of his devotion. You just don’t understand women’s attraction. You see women going “hear me out” all the time.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/08/26 04:01 PM
0

I think he’s really ugly. He was only attractive as the monster because the monster was sympathetic. Women throughout the history of literature and film have been attracted to misunderstood monsters with good hearts. It’s a common trope for a reason. Esmerelda in Hunchback fulfils the same role as Elizabeth in Frankenstein. The woman sees the good in the monster whilst the men try tk destroy it because it’s ugly.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/08/26 03:46 PM

It just sounds like a convenient excuse for morally bankrupt behaviour
/r/PurplePillDebate03/08/26 03:27 PM
1

Well the thread was about why women are attracted to monsters and I felt I could give insight into that. I can’t speak for the sorts of women who are attracted to Jacob Elordi. I think he’s awful.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/08/26 03:26 PM

Sorry but no, we have a pre-frontal cortex and a civilised society with hundreds of years of learning on morality and ethics. People don’t get to explain away bad behaviour by pretending they are animalistic.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/08/26 03:06 PM
0

I was countering a statement that said all women. Women are incredibly diverse in who they are attracted to.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/08/26 03:05 PM

What a horrible and dehumanising way of looking at it
/r/PurplePillDebate03/08/26 02:58 PM
1

Why shouldn’t I speak for myself? Everyone disagrees on attraction.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/08/26 02:58 PM
0

He’s so ugly and smug
/r/PurplePillDebate03/08/26 02:46 PM

I’d rather be with someone who loves me for who I am as a person than to be sexually objectified. This is the entire problem: we live in a society where women’s personhood is repeatedly stripped away from them.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/08/26 02:44 PM

Except being rich gives you comfort and security, whereas being seen as an attractive sex object just makes you unsafe
/r/PurplePillDebate03/08/26 02:28 PM

Let me see, would I prefer to be ignored or to be sexually assaulted and harassed repeatedly? Being visible isn’t always a good thing.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/08/26 02:14 PM
1

Sure, but I’m going to ask again what the point of being on a debate sub is if your beliefs are unshakeable and unfalsifiable
/r/PurplePillDebate03/08/26 12:02 PM
0

Clearly the source material is misogynistic then
/r/PurplePillDebate03/08/26 11:39 AM
0

Whatever, it’s gross that men only see female superheroes as eye candy. The recent uproar about Supergirl not being hot enough was disgusting. It’s a movie for a young girls to feel empowered, not for creepy men to feel titillated.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/08/26 11:36 AM
1

I don’t believe that to be true. I know lots of ND couples. An NT can never fully understand an ND person enough to be in a relationship with them. But as I say, moving the goalposts.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/08/26 11:31 AM
1

Your transphobia aside, you also said older women don’t count, and neurodivergent women don’t count.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/08/26 11:14 AM

Places that people expect to go and socialise/meet new people. Social events, social clubs, bars and clubs. It’s kinda amazing that this even needs to be said. Ask yourself what situations you would be happy to be approached by a man you didn’t know.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/08/26 10:45 AM
1

You are narrowing who counts as a “woman”, but also any woman who disagrees is lying. That there is an unfalsifiable belief.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/08/26 10:22 AM
1

You keep moving the goalposts
/r/PurplePillDebate03/08/26 10:15 AM
1

Why?
/r/PurplePillDebate03/08/26 10:11 AM
1

Your OP just said “women”. I know lots of women who care more about personality than looks.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/08/26 10:08 AM
1

To me the doctor is more physically attractive, but he was an asshole in the movie. What’s the point of you being on a debate sub if you’re already made up your mind and anyone speaking their truth is just “being performative”? I’m literally dating a neurodivergent 5’4 trans man. I don’t value height.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/08/26 09:59 AM
1

No it’s because he’s sympathetic. The Frankenstein’s monster has a heart, whilst the Doctor is an asshole. Both are physically attractive actors, but it’s not the Doctor that women were swooning over.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/08/26 09:52 AM
1

Have you even done any thinking at all about why women might be into monsters?
/r/PurplePillDebate03/08/26 09:50 AM
1

You’re just imposing male attraction onto women. Men may not care about personality but women do.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/08/26 09:44 AM
0

Ewww no they are not
/r/PurplePillDebate03/08/26 09:41 AM
1

You clearly don’t understand women’s attraction at all. A man cannot be hot and an asshole at the same time.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/08/26 09:38 AM
1

He was a prick in that and everybody hated him?
/r/PurplePillDebate03/08/26 09:34 AM
1

Prove me wrong
/r/PurplePillDebate03/08/26 09:28 AM
2

Yeah but he wouldn’t be attractive if he wasn’t a monster. The monster part is what’s important. Jacob Elordi is not hot, but the Frankenstein’s Monster was.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/08/26 09:24 AM
2

Florence Pugh is stunning. What planet are they living on?
/r/PurplePillDebate03/08/26 09:23 AM
2

Very bizarre. The idea that you can’t have any joy without punishing yourself. The idea that men can’t enjoy beauty, creativity, or anything fun because that’s too feminine. What harm is it going to do to live a little.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/08/26 07:36 AM
1

At the expense of having any joy in life
/r/PurplePillDebate03/08/26 07:06 AM
2

Yeah I’d agree.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/08/26 05:36 PM
1

Okay. Ifaik American politics is pretty right wing regardless.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/08/26 05:33 PM
1

I’ve no idea what that is
/r/PurplePillDebate02/08/26 04:54 PM
3

And if he lives in a state it’s been criminalised there’ll be nothing he can do about it
/r/PurplePillDebate02/08/26 04:44 PM
4

I dunno I don’t think many women would be willing to date a man who had fundamentally different views to them on abortion for instance
/r/PurplePillDebate02/08/26 04:33 PM
5

This is clearly not true. Approx 75-85% of people end up in an LTR with someone of the same political affiliations.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/08/26 04:17 PM
3

Heteronormativity is absolutely a curse and a lot of the reason straight men are the way they are. They often define being a man in the negative - not being a woman, not being feminine, not being “gay”. They would really all be a lot happier and well adjusted if they got over these hang ups.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/08/26 04:13 PM

It’s ableist myth that autistic people can’t be emotionally intelligent. Sometimes autistic people have much higher emotional intelligence than neurotypical people.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/08/26 03:49 PM
3

It’s actually closer to 1 in 3, and that number goes up if you include things like catcalling
/r/PurplePillDebate02/08/26 07:46 AM
1

Maybe some men just can’t express their emotions to anyone
/r/PurplePillDebate02/08/26 07:45 AM

What makes you think I’m an unsafe person? They’re were literally coming to me for help
/r/PurplePillDebate01/08/26 08:58 PM

Good luck finding a woman who hasn’t had at least some experience of sexual violence
/r/PurplePillDebate01/08/26 03:12 PM

The normalisation of choking during sex is so dangerous.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/08/26 12:20 PM
4

I couldn’t stop being me if I wanted to!
/r/PurplePillDebate01/08/26 07:00 AM

Hell no. As a trans person I can tell you for certain that having predominantly testosterone and having predominantly oestrogen really changes both the quality and intensity of your sex drive.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/08/26 06:30 AM
1

Well the UK where I live as made it illegal. It doesn’t surprise me that the US doesn’t care about privacy. Meta’s pervert glasses are testament to that.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/08/26 06:12 AM
1

Not really because generally in order for women to get into power they have to prop up the existing system. We see this all the time with female politicians speaking out against feminist policy, and defending patriarchal institutions and corruption.
/r/PurplePillDebate31/07/26 07:37 PM
0

Maybe they do, I don’t have any experience of that so I can’t say
/r/PurplePillDebate31/07/26 04:55 PM

I don’t think women are necessarily easy to manipulate, but when men try it on such a large scale, it’s something every woman has to learn to spot and put in place very rigid boundaries
/r/PurplePillDebate31/07/26 04:39 PM

Women often end up consenting to things they don’t want to do bedause men manipulate and bully them into it
/r/PurplePillDebate31/07/26 04:04 PM

Patriarchy is just a description of the societal power dynamics we live under
/r/PurplePillDebate31/07/26 04:04 PM

Shame she’s such a Tory
/r/PurplePillDebate30/07/26 04:37 PM

/r/PurplePillDebate30/07/26 04:33 PM

You can do whatever you like. However, I can’t help but see the way trans women’s vaginas are spoken about as inadequate or even disgusting as anything other than deeply misogynistic.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/07/26 03:52 PM
1

Some of the more modern surgeries do have natural lubrication. But also plenty of cis women cannot have sex without lube.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/07/26 03:37 PM
1

Uhh, plenty of men have had sex with post-op trans women and not even realised they were trans, so I’m not sure what you’re imagining.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/07/26 03:29 PM
1

Absolutely, the “we can always tell” crowd simultaneously tranvestigating every cis woman
/r/PurplePillDebate30/07/26 02:51 PM
1

That’s a generous reading of your own words. You called me stupid.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/07/26 02:34 PM
1

It’s not a strategy. His definitions don’t make any sense to me. There’s no way that chasing women when they’re saying no is just normal flirting.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/07/26 02:17 PM
2

You all seem to think HRT does nothing
/r/PurplePillDebate30/07/26 01:53 PM

I’m struggling to follow illogical contradictions
/r/PurplePillDebate30/07/26 01:51 PM

Keep deluding yourself
/r/PurplePillDebate30/07/26 12:53 PM
1

Sure but trans people are usually outliers even before they transition.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/07/26 12:51 PM
1

Doesn’t mean it’s true in all cases. I friend of mine is a trans woman and she works as a primary school teacher. The political climate in my country means she’s not out at work and wouldn’t be safe to be. Parents would absolutely complain if they knew. But they don’t.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/07/26 12:49 PM
1

Trans women aren’t “average men”, and also medical transition literally changes your secondary sex characteristics
/r/PurplePillDebate30/07/26 12:43 PM
2

Are you really still arguing these views aren’t transphobic? Lol
/r/PurplePillDebate30/07/26 12:41 PM
0

No but you purposefully made a comment which implied trans women are masculine? And then claim you don’t want to be mean to trans people.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/07/26 12:34 PM
1

Firstly, surgery isn’t the only way to feminise a body, hormones do a huuuge amount. I know trans women with D cup natural breasts. Also lots of trans women were hugely feminine before transition. I never passed very well as a man, people didn’t really believe it, and as soon as I transitioned it just made sense to everybody in a way I never had before.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/07/26 12:33 PM
2

It’s obvious when it’s obvious, which is why’s the toupee fallacy - confirmation bias. If you don’t know a person is trans then you don’t know. I know lots of trans women who are completely stealth.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/07/26 12:25 PM
0

Not necessarily, since genital surgeries exist. And every trans person I know failed at the socialisation of their birth gender. But there we go, the belief that trans people are not the gender the say they are is transphobic. It’s the very basis of all transphobia.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/07/26 12:12 PM
4

Toupée fallacy
/r/PurplePillDebate30/07/26 12:06 PM
0

What other reason is there? It’s generally an indication that they don’t see trans people as their gender
/r/PurplePillDebate30/07/26 12:06 PM

It’s based on transphobic beliefs 9 times out of 10
/r/PurplePillDebate30/07/26 12:04 PM
1

Why did you even post this then?
/r/PurplePillDebate30/07/26 12:03 PM
4

Unbelievably offensive and dehumanising. Also you think eating disorders with people starving themselves is better? Ridiculous
/r/PurplePillDebate30/07/26 11:41 AM
-1

Probably easier to just indicate on your profile you’re transphobic and trans people will avoid you like the plague
/r/PurplePillDebate30/07/26 11:36 AM
3

Shaming people is better than being kind? Wth
/r/PurplePillDebate30/07/26 11:30 AM

Not really going to be a successful strategy. A lot of trans women are hyperfeminine.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/07/26 11:29 AM

Ozempic really has normalised fat-shaming again. Yay we’re back to 90s eating disorders 😒
/r/PurplePillDebate30/07/26 11:01 AM

23-25 is considered a healthy weight by every international medical organisation.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/07/26 10:55 AM
2

It absolutely does. You look at queer people and gender roles become meaningless, or incredibly complex. The need to define rigid binary gender roles comes from heterosexuality, and would disappear without it.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/07/26 10:36 AM
3

Why? The OP uses gender correctly.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/07/26 10:30 AM

“Biological biases”? Most bi people are in relationships with heterosexual people, even if they aren’t necessarily out.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/07/26 03:09 PM

I agree but it’s also a product of an intolerant society.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/07/26 02:13 PM

But bi people are oppressed in many different ways. They’re more likely to be victims of sexual assault and domestic violence for instance.

/r/PurplePillDebate29/07/26 01:54 PM

I disagree. Only 11% of men are comfortable being out about their sexual orientation, and most of them say it’s because women won’t date them if they do. Thats absolutely a societal prejudice that’s impacting negatively upon an entire group.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/07/26 01:53 PM

That article literally says it’s not as common as male sexual predation. I’m in agreement that we shouldn’t be blind to it, and we should take victims seriously. But all the evidence still shows men are statistically a higher risk.

You’re the one imposing a binary and stereotypes on both biology and gender here. Yes I know you can’t change chromosomes but hormones literally alter your primary and secondary sex characteristics and physiology. A trans woman grows breasts and needs mammograms, thats a change in her sex characteristics. You’re acting like “change” only means to become the complete “opposite”. > The lesson is over I won’t be replying any more The absolute arrogance of this. As a trans person I know how this wor…

Well fine it’s just expression 🙄 Biology doesn’t disagree. What do you think trans people take hormones for? > Butch means masculine So why did you say it’s a different set of stereotypes for a butch woman than for a man? Thats you imposing the gender binary on the same choices in presentation.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/07/26 01:08 PM

Dating is not equal opportunity but your dating preferences can absolutely be informed by societal prejudices. Like yeah people can date whoever they want, consent is paramount. But I’m still going to think someone is a bit racist if they won’t date black people.

The entire principle behind transgenders is they transition their genders, under the principle of gender theories. It's in the name. /r/PurplePillDebate29/07/26 12:28 PM
1

Even if everyone was non-binary that doesn’t mean there can’t be a range of gender expressions or that we have to get rid of masculinity or femininity. Besides a lot of trans people are not transitioning their gender, they are transitioning their biological sex so that their body is in line with their brain. As for your second question, I know a number of butch trans women who have masculine gender presentations.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/07/26 11:05 AM

Yeah that’s totally biphobia though
/r/PurplePillDebate29/07/26 10:43 AM

Okay, the study I looked at seemed to suggest that even if you include that data, the vast majority of sexual assault against men is committed by other men
/r/PurplePillDebate29/07/26 10:27 AM

I really don’t care about it, I’m dating a man who is a head shorter than me (I’m 5’9 and he’s 5’4) but I realise I’m an outlier and most normie heterosexual people have a weird hang-up about height.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/07/26 09:50 AM
6

The heterosexual script as you put it is so harmful. I’m increasingly of the opinion that straight people only really perform gender for sexual reasons, which is why they accuse queer and trans people of being sexual perverts for having gender expressions outside the norm.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/07/26 09:49 AM

The idea that bisexual people are more likely to cheat or more likely to have diseases is a harmful stereotype.

/r/PurplePillDebate28/07/26 08:48 PM
1

I disagree, “natural beauty” just create a hierarchy based upon things which people can’t control by the circumstances of their birth. Valuing individual expression in how someone decides to look is really the only way to value people for who they are.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/07/26 08:39 PM
1

Because it’s objectifying to value only someone’s genetics and undervalue their personality, creativity, individuality.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/07/26 08:20 PM

Wrong? I’m allowed my own opinion. How could that be wrong?
/r/PurplePillDebate28/07/26 08:14 PM

You don’t need to actively challenge it, just don’t let other people dictate your self expression
/r/PurplePillDebate28/07/26 09:47 AM

Meaning what? I’m not denying there are a lot of homophobic women out there. I’m saying we shouldn’t be tolerating it let alone altering our self expression because of it.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/07/26 09:46 AM

It is if it makes you feel happier and more confident
/r/PurplePillDebate28/07/26 08:55 AM

If the majority of women are homophobic or femmephobic then that really needs challenging, not kowtowing to
/r/PurplePillDebate28/07/26 08:13 AM

Okay but avoiding self expression just because some horrible people might be mean is cutting your nose off to spite your face

/r/PurplePillDebate28/07/26 08:06 AM

Why not though? Men were real men back then
/r/PurplePillDebate28/07/26 07:42 AM

Yep, I keep saying that men need a body positivity movement too.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/07/26 07:41 AM

It’s just called self care, no need to give it a stupid name.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/07/26 07:41 AM

Men also regularly say they want women to “naturally” be pretty, and that make-up is “catfishing”.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/07/26 07:39 AM
2

Having a read of the study you posted, I’m happy to accept the definition and the sampling is biased, and we should absolutely be taking sexual abuse of men seriously (especially in prison where in the US jt appears to be very normalised). However even by this data, half of all male victims have male perpetrators. So overall men are still much more likely to be sexual assault perpetrators than women. Also this study seems to suggest that gay men are disproportionately victims of sexual violence …
/r/PurplePillDebate28/07/26 07:07 AM
0

How do you know that?
/r/PurplePillDebate28/07/26 06:50 AM
1

False. Most trans people even those who identify as binary have perspective on how harmful gender roles are so are less likely to enforce them. Unless you’re saying it’s not possible to be a gender non-conforming man or woman?
/r/PurplePillDebate28/07/26 06:47 AM
1

But the statistics aren’t based on the legal definition (which I agree is awful and should be changed). The statistics are based on self-reporting? So you’re saying even men themselves don’t think they’ve been raped?
/r/PurplePillDebate28/07/26 06:45 AM
4

Not counted by who? It’s self report data.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/07/26 06:41 PM

Are most men misogynistic about women’s appearance? Yeah totally. They don’t value women for their minds or personalities.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/07/26 05:28 PM

The ONS data is self-reported and says 1 in 6 men have been sexually assaulted and 87% of those were assaulted by a man

I agree with all of that
/r/PurplePillDebate27/07/26 05:15 PM

If you have to pretend to be someone else to get laid then I can’t see how it’s worth it
/r/PurplePillDebate27/07/26 04:46 PM

Women who rape should absolutely get attention also. They are just much less common.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/07/26 04:46 PM
2

Office for National Statistic says 1 in 6 men report sexual violence (still a huge number and I agree it should be taken seriously) compared to 1 in 3 women. 87% of perpetrators against male victims are male.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/07/26 03:52 PM
4

I’m not pretending that sexual assault never happens to men… but near half? That doesn’t match up to any evidence out there.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/07/26 03:42 PM
3

So? It should be clear that men who do not subscribe to patriarchal beliefs or toxic masculinity are not the problem.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/07/26 03:23 PM
1

I’ve been non-passing and I’ve been passing, and whilst I agree that my safety has improved walking down the street to a certain extent, looking like a woman comes with its own fears about safety. The biggest risk if you’re passing though is dating. Trans women who get murdered often do so by men they’ve had sex with.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/07/26 02:55 PM
0

There’s no one answer I can give to that. I’d measure success as is the person happy with their transition. Safety is another thing, every trans person has to deal with feeling unsafe whether they pass or not.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/07/26 02:41 PM
-2

Trans is beautiful and the measure a successful transition is not “passing”.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/07/26 02:27 PM
1

Well that’s just nonsense. Trans people are the most gender diverse group there is and reject gender stereotypes. It’s cisgender heterosexual people that uphold gender roles.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/07/26 01:49 PM

Talking about your feelings
/r/PurplePillDebate27/07/26 01:36 PM

/r/PurplePillDebate27/07/26 01:33 PM

It absolutely does go well with trans community’s meaning, as it’s choosing to be yourself and rejecting the gender roles society tried to impose upon you
/r/PurplePillDebate27/07/26 01:08 PM
0

How come? The Wachowski sisters have very much said the red pill was meant to be about choosing to be yourself despite what society might think. Kinda of the opposite of the manosphere appropriation of the term.

Yeah

Well I can’t say I agree personally, I find it endlessly sad that gay men aren’t attracted to me. Thankfully I found a very fruity and stylish bi man to date.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/07/26 12:44 PM
0

What am I basing it on? I have eyes and a sense of smell. Gay men are also more attractive to lots of women.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/07/26 12:27 PM
-1

Being stinky, having dirty or broken clothing, having no concept of moisturiser or conditioner… There’s a reason gay men are more attractive and it has nothing to do with bone structure.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/07/26 12:09 PM
0

Men. They’ll claim they have broader standards but it’s because women they don’t find attractive (older, short hair, overweight, etc) are literally invisible to them.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/07/26 12:05 PM
2

It never ceases to amaze me how the manosphere has managed to convince huge numbers of men there is something wrong with their bone structure. This is why men need a body positivity movement.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/07/26 12:02 PM
-1

Disagree, there’s a lot of straight men out there who are very unwashed.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/07/26 11:49 AM
1

I disagree wholeheartedly. I’ve dated older overweight guys who had great style and good facial hair. A really well trimmed beard and can do wonders for the jawline. A man can have good bone structure all he wants, if he looks dirty or dishevelled or has bad style it’s a no from me.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/07/26 11:30 AM
1

What do you mean by “soft maxxing”? A guy can improve his appearance significantly with a good haircut, facial hair, skincare and makeup, dental care and good clothes. It’s absurd to suggest otherwise.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/07/26 11:04 AM
1

Literally crazy logic. You can’t prevent a war by going off to fight a war. You can’t be a pacifist and then go off and literally kill people.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/07/26 10:53 AM
3

That doesn’t make any sense if you’re anti-military anti-war. There needs to be a mechanism to vote against it.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/07/26 10:37 AM
3

That’s bonkers. How then can you vote to get rid of the draft or to stop going to war?
/r/PurplePillDebate27/07/26 10:29 AM

Not really, any number is terrifying because how are you supposed to tell which men are dangerous?
/r/PurplePillDebate27/07/26 07:45 AM

I said “still terrifying”
/r/PurplePillDebate27/07/26 07:29 AM

If you see up the side, it’s labelled under “everyday sexism”, which is the normalised behaviour which permits sexual violence to happen. Nobody is suggesting people should go to jail for bodyshaming
/r/PurplePillDebate27/07/26 07:20 AM
1

How so?
/r/PurplePillDebate27/07/26 06:58 AM

Nobody should speak in this dehumanising way about other people
/r/PurplePillDebate27/07/26 05:50 AM

This quote is kind of the original meaning of the red pill that the Wachowski sisters meant - choosing to be yourself despite what society might think. Kind of the opposite to the manosphere meaning.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/07/26 05:46 AM
3

Maybe men shouldn’t shame women for being “easy” then?
/r/PurplePillDebate27/07/26 05:39 AM
1

Nobody is saying body shaming is sexual violence. It’s the bottom rung of the ladder whereby these attitudes are trivialised.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/07/26 05:35 AM
2

Yes probably
/r/PurplePillDebate27/07/26 05:33 AM
5

Where does it say that?
/r/PurplePillDebate27/07/26 05:32 AM
5

You’ve fallen victim to the quote above exactly. Feminism criticises patriarchy, not men, yet men take it that criticism as a threat.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/07/26 05:31 AM
5

You absolutely do see feminists fighting for women to do male dominated roles and not be subjected to sexism or questioning their ability to do the role.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/07/26 05:28 AM
4

I said it does count, I just don’t think it’s as common. Women don’t do the stuff on that pyramid anywhere near as much.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/07/26 06:21 PM
8

At no point am I claiming women are incapable of these behaviours, and they should also be taught it’s bad. However these behaviours are very ingrained and normalised in men, which is why men don’t even see anything wrong with it as this entire thread demonstrates.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/07/26 06:07 PM
1

Wedgies? Wtf?
/r/PurplePillDebate26/07/26 05:59 PM
3

I don’t even know what you’re talking about then.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/07/26 05:38 PM
2

So weird. The fact that you think this is flirting is exactly why a lot of men struggle with boundaries and push past a no. It’s such a bad message to be giving out.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/07/26 05:31 PM
3

No you can get to know people as equals? “Chasing” implies she’s running away.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/07/26 05:23 PM
5

Citation?
/r/PurplePillDebate26/07/26 05:22 PM
2

You wouldn’t need to “chase” if she was into it.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/07/26 04:47 PM
6

Hell no, none of this is “normal escalation”. If she’s resisting you should stop. The fact that men even believe in the concept of “the chase” is problematic af.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/07/26 04:05 PM
3

Sexual violence stems from sexist attitudes. You can’t address one without addressing the other.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/07/26 03:56 PM
17

Well no because I don’t agree that things like “kept touching or kissing her” which 58% of men admit to doing is okay.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/07/26 03:17 PM
4

Yes it certainly can be
/r/PurplePillDebate26/07/26 03:16 PM
13

It doesn’t stretch the definition. All of the ones in the last group - getting a woman drunk, undressing her before she’s said yes, targeting vulnerable women - 1 in 5 men admit to doing this.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/07/26 12:23 PM
21

Rape is the tip of the iceberg of sexual violence. Rape culture is what permits rape to happen. You can’t address one without addressing the other. <image>
/r/PurplePillDebate26/07/26 12:20 PM
1

That doesn’t answer my question. Given two identical candidates on paper, the only difference being gender, who should get the role? I also don’t believe that the highest qualified are always male. That just shows your bias.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/07/26 12:14 PM
2

Sorry you left it too late
/r/PurplePillDebate26/07/26 12:12 PM
0

No you didn’t. If a man and woman have the exact same qualifications who should get the role?
/r/PurplePillDebate26/07/26 11:59 AM
3

Men have left it too late if they’re waiting til their 40s to have children
/r/PurplePillDebate26/07/26 11:58 AM
1

It wasn’t merit based hiring before, it was a boy’s club where men hired their sons and friends. A woman or another minority could have equal or better qualifications but the role was still more likely to go to the white man. That’s what DEI is trying to address.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/07/26 11:57 AM
33

Even if we dismiss the ones you think are not really coercive (they are, but we’ll say for argument’s sake) the fact that some of the most coercive tactics are used by 10-25% of men is still terrifying.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/07/26 11:53 AM

Answer my question first.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/07/26 11:48 AM
1

And men think their behaviour is not coercive when it clearly is
/r/PurplePillDebate26/07/26 11:43 AM

They don’t want revenge, they want fair chances, in a society that has always favoured men unfairly.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/07/26 11:41 AM

Who says they are unqualified or underqualified? What if they have the same qualifications as a man? Who should get the role?
/r/PurplePillDebate26/07/26 11:40 AM
1

I didn’t advocate for that, but clearly when most rapists get away with it, we need to address that, not go the other direction for fear of rare false allegations. You want a system that protects predators.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/07/26 11:38 AM
1

It’s so vanishingly unlikely it’s not even a realistic worry. Rape conviction rates are less than 1% of all allegations.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/07/26 11:31 AM

Why do you think DEI exists? It is an attempt to redress the existing inequality that was created by the white supremacist patriarchal society.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/07/26 11:30 AM

As opposed to the patriarchal capitalist system we’ve had for hundreds of years where men give jobs to their sons or other men who were wholly unqualified.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/07/26 11:27 AM

What makes you think they are unqualified for those roles? Women are doing better at school and university than men these days. Maybe men need to work harder to keep up.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/07/26 11:18 AM
1

I’d rather there be a small number of false allegations, than the current system where huge numbers of real rapists get away with it
/r/PurplePillDebate26/07/26 11:04 AM

The gender pay gap still exists even if you control for those things, and it’s even higher for minority women.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/07/26 11:02 AM

Exactly
/r/PurplePillDebate26/07/26 10:59 AM

Because men would never use whatever opportunities and advantages they could find to get into positions of power…
/r/PurplePillDebate26/07/26 10:53 AM
1

And what should women do if they were actually coerced and afraid? They’ll just be accused of false allegations. You want a system that protects predators.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/07/26 10:31 AM

White women are less disadvantaged than other groups but they still earn less on average than white men
/r/PurplePillDebate26/07/26 10:30 AM

Maybe women are just working harder at school
/r/PurplePillDebate26/07/26 10:17 AM
2

This is incredibly rare, whereas real cases of rape that fail to get prosecuted due to lack of evidence are extremely common. Also the guy is secretly filming her having sex with him and you’re acting like he’s the victim in that scenario?
/r/PurplePillDebate26/07/26 10:16 AM

Oh so men are wanting handouts now because they can’t compete in the free market they created?
/r/PurplePillDebate26/07/26 10:08 AM

We can talk about how capitalism is an unfair system, if you like. But all the evidence shows women, ethnic minorities, disabled people and lgbtq+ people all earn less on average under capitalism than cis white men.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/07/26 10:07 AM
3

Why wouldn’t they be if they’re the same age?
/r/PurplePillDebate26/07/26 10:02 AM

What handouts do you think women are getting exactly?
/r/PurplePillDebate26/07/26 10:01 AM

I thought capitalists thought their system was fair? Work hard and you get rewarded. That’s what men have been saying for hundreds of years.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/07/26 09:59 AM

Cis men aren’t a marginalised minority
/r/PurplePillDebate26/07/26 09:58 AM

Men created a capitalist society that relies on a competitive process, and then complain that women worked hard to break through the glass ceiling and started outcompeting them at their own game. Very much sounds like you think men not being given the privilege they think they are entitled to is “misandry”.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/07/26 09:20 AM
1

More men should have this vibe
/r/PurplePillDebate26/07/26 09:03 AM

It’s a good thing that women have a right to choose, because they have contraception and financial autonomy. I also can’t imagine wanting to bring a child into a world which is literally on fire.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/07/26 08:44 AM
1

That’s a huge misrepresentation of what is actually happening
/r/PurplePillDebate26/07/26 07:58 AM

They’re not harmless in the slightest.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/07/26 07:57 AM

A recent study suggested it was 95%
/r/PurplePillDebate25/07/26 06:28 PM

Nah, making yourself harder to get is going to make you seem more desirable. That’s marketing 101.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/07/26 06:08 PM
1

I dunno, I’ve worked with a lot of young men struggling with their mental health and they really struggle to identify their own emotions let alone talk about them.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/07/26 06:07 PM
1

I’m not saying you have to share your childhood trauma on date one, but so many men are so emotionally shut down that it’s hard to get to know anything about them. You have to know that right?
/r/PurplePillDebate25/07/26 05:52 PM
1

What a bizarre and distrusting view. Why are men so guarded with their emotions? Emotions are normal.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/07/26 05:47 PM
1

That’s good. A lot of men seem very angry.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/07/26 05:46 PM
9

Men should turn down women more, it’s pathetic that they’re a sure thing
/r/PurplePillDebate25/07/26 04:46 PM
1

Men do this all the time, walking along with their wife and kids flagrantly checking out other women.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/07/26 02:52 PM
1

What counts as impersonation?
/r/PurplePillDebate25/07/26 02:19 PM
0

Abiding the law isn’t a measure of being ethical or good.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/07/26 02:14 PM
4

It seems like a lot of men never cared about consent in the first place. They treat women as a game to play, try any means necessary to get the outcome of sex. At no point are they thinking about how she may feel about it.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/07/26 02:11 PM
-1

How can you be sure she’s changed her mind and doesn’t feel bullied into it?
/r/PurplePillDebate25/07/26 02:07 PM
1

If you don’t care that you might be harming others and only about legal consequences for yourself, that says a lot.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/07/26 01:57 PM
1

A breakup? I’m not talking about a breakup. I’m talk about men who lie on dates/dating apps about looking for a relationship and then ghost after they get sex.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/07/26 01:51 PM

I disagree, sex by deception is absolutely defined in law. At least it is in my country.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/07/26 01:50 PM
1

This is why feminism talks about rape culture, because lying, manipulating, coercing before sex is really normalised. Doesn’t make it okay though.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/07/26 01:40 PM
0

Best to not have sex if you can’t be sure women are consenting.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/07/26 01:37 PM
2

I agree, no means no. Regardless of who is at fault, a no means you should back off.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/07/26 01:35 PM
3

It’s sadistic when men act like women lose something when they have sex.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/07/26 01:08 PM
0

If he actively lied to her and she consented based on the lie, then yeah, her consent is invalidated. Not sure what’s so hard to understand?
/r/PurplePillDebate25/07/26 12:53 PM
14

It never ceases to amaze me how many men don’t understand this, or wilfully refuse to understand it. Surely if you’re scared of false allegations it makes sense to be absolutely clear that you gained informed consent and gave her every opportunity to withdraw consent. I guess the issue is a lot of men think they wouldn’t get sex at all if they didn’t trick women into it.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/07/26 12:32 PM
0

Nah I’d probably assume he raped her. False accusations are really rare, and true accusations that fail to be prosecuted are really common.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/07/26 12:13 PM
1

There is no contract, but that doesn’t mean it’s okay to lie to get sex. The fact that you think lying to get sex is normal is really fucked up.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/07/26 12:00 PM
1

Well I’m not. I’ve witnessed men actively lying on dating apps. There is no vagueness or misunderstanding.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/07/26 11:53 AM
0

Where do you get “unspoken” from? I’m talking about the times where it is spoken. If she just assumed then she has no right to complain. He’s allowed to change his mind yes. I’m talking about when men are actively duplicitous because they had no intention of following through.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/07/26 11:52 AM
3

So women have no right to feel duped if a man tells her he’s looking for a relationship and then ghosts her after sex?
/r/PurplePillDebate25/07/26 11:28 AM
0

If she’s said she’s looking for a relationship and he says he is also, and then he ghosts her after sex, you don’t expect her to feel duped?
/r/PurplePillDebate25/07/26 11:26 AM
11

Most men act entitled to sex whether they are getting it or not.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/07/26 11:14 AM
0

Except the crown prosecution service is saying that trans people must disclose even if not asked.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/07/26 11:13 AM
2

Well that’s not lying. I’m talking about cases where people actively lied.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/07/26 11:12 AM
0

I never said anything about an unspoken contract. I’m talking about active lying.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/07/26 11:11 AM

If a woman says she’s looking for a relationship and a man says he is also when he’s actually married and looking for casual sex, that’s maliciously lying
/r/PurplePillDebate25/07/26 10:25 AM
-1

A trans person isn’t lying about their sex. Why do cis people think they are entitled to trans people’s private medical information?
/r/PurplePillDebate25/07/26 10:23 AM

Oh get real. Someone taking care of their appearance isn’t duplicitous.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/07/26 10:19 AM
0

I agree I don’t think either should go to jail. I’m just pointing out the double standard in society exists, and it protects cis men.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/07/26 10:13 AM
4

Well, you could say “I don’t want to give out my real name” and someone could be okay with that, I’ve certainly had hookups where I didn’t care to know their name. But someone else might feel duped. Consent relies on open negotiation.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/07/26 10:12 AM

Depends on if the person would have withdraw consent had they been told the truth
/r/PurplePillDebate25/07/26 10:05 AM
2

None of them are about the subject? What do you think we are discussing?
/r/PurplePillDebate25/07/26 10:02 AM
1

Yeah and vulnerable people suffer from it whilst the powerful are protected
/r/PurplePillDebate25/07/26 09:58 AM

How’s it not relevant? If I as a trans woman fail to disclose I’m trans I could go to jail. But if a man fails to disclose he’s married then there’s nothing I can do about it.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/07/26 09:53 AM

Men lie about all sorts of things. Their name, being married, their intentions, what they’re looking for, they stealth with condoms, etc etc. And yeah you should ask consent for specific acts as you’re going along if it wasn’t previously discussed.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/07/26 09:52 AM
2

I didn’t create the standard, nor the double standard
/r/PurplePillDebate25/07/26 09:48 AM

Well clearly the average man does think these standards should only apply when they are the victim
/r/PurplePillDebate25/07/26 09:42 AM

If you’ve been honest and check she’s still consenting regularly I can’t see how you’re doing anything wrong. The problem is when men lie from the outset, and also when they think an initial yes means yes to everything even if it wasn’t something agreed upon
/r/PurplePillDebate25/07/26 09:38 AM
1

Yes I don’t think men and women should be treated differently under the law.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/07/26 09:36 AM
2

I’m a prison abolitionist so I don’t believe in jail. I think people should have to have some rehabilitation and re-education perhaps. A woman lying about being on the pill is just as bad as a man taking off the condom without her realising.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/07/26 09:27 AM
2

She. Yeah, I think women who lie to get sex or relationships are also invalidating consent and should have repercussions. Lying to get sex invalidates consent whoever does it.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/07/26 09:05 AM
2

So you think that this woman who lied about being trans shouldn’t have gone to jail? And I’m completely justified in withholding the fact that I’m trans from men I sleep with?
/r/PurplePillDebate25/07/26 08:58 AM

Make sure her consent is informed, and create the circumstances whereby she knows she can withdraw her consent at any time.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/07/26 08:50 AM

I mean, it’s pretty easy to prove if a man has lied in the day of OLD, just save the conversation. I don’t know what it should be, but I’m disturbed there’s no repercussions at all, whereas as a trans woman if I fail to disclose my medical history I could go to jail.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/07/26 08:38 AM

A woman was jailed
/r/PurplePillDebate25/07/26 08:30 AM

That there’s a double standard
/r/PurplePillDebate25/07/26 08:30 AM

I’m glad you think so, unfortunately a lot of men act like sex is something they do to women (or take from women).
/r/PurplePillDebate25/07/26 08:25 AM

Nice way to avoid you having a double standard. I personally don’t think jail is a reasonable punishment for such a thing, but I do think we need better sex education to teach people it’s not okay to lie to get sex.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/07/26 08:24 AM

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cj6xlwn570lo Do you think this woman should have gone to jail for not disclosing she was trans?
/r/PurplePillDebate25/07/26 08:11 AM

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cj6xlwn570lo This woman went to jail for not disclosing that she was trans. But clearly men want one rule for them and one rule for everyone else.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/07/26 08:08 AM
1

I don’t believe we live in a just world, but that doesn’t mean we shouldn’t aspire to one.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/07/26 08:02 AM
4

Again, two wrongs don’t make a right.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/07/26 07:59 AM
1

If you say so. I know plenty of women who would choose a short poor good man over a tall rich evil man.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/07/26 07:58 AM
6

Why? It’s well documented that men lie on dating apps
/r/PurplePillDebate25/07/26 07:58 AM
1

I was replying to a comment about men
/r/PurplePillDebate25/07/26 07:56 AM

What game? You don’t think people should be able to withdraw consent once they’ve consented? Even if the sex is getting scary?
/r/PurplePillDebate25/07/26 07:55 AM

If it was made crystal clear he wasn’t looking for a relationship and just wanted casual sex, then yeah I agree she can’t complain. But that’s usually not what’s happened.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/07/26 07:53 AM

Well people need to be open and honest about what they are offering before jumping in the sack so that consent is informed.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/07/26 07:51 AM

I never said anything about him going to jail.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/07/26 07:49 AM

Nothing miserable about it, it’s called having good boundaries and ethics.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/07/26 07:49 AM

You never mentioned anything about lying, yet he led her to believe he was interested in a relationship? 🤔
/r/PurplePillDebate25/07/26 07:48 AM

Well two wrongs don’t make a right. If women are lying that also invalidates consent.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/07/26 07:47 AM

Are they? What do women lie about? Just because you say you are honest doesn’t mean men as a whole are. There’s lots of evidence huge numbers of men will say whatever they think women want to hear to get sex.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/07/26 07:44 AM

If he lied to get sex, and she consented based on the lie, then he invalidated her consent. The fact that men lie and manipulate to get sex all the time is what we call rape culture.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/07/26 07:40 AM

You can believe these socially constructed associations are made-up and still recognise that they have very real consequences because society upholds them in every walk of life depending on how people perceive you. Non-binary is generally an attempt to reject these gendered constructs entirely. For trans men and trans women… it’s about “I recognise these roles are made up but I still feel more comfortable over here with this group”. But also it’s not just about social roles, being trans for a lo…

/r/PurplePillDebate25/07/26 06:54 AM

Trans women are incapable of gestating life, which despite popular narratives, is still something most men aspire to. Ouch And most men are attracted to confident femininity, which especially for trans people who don't pass, doesn't exist in those people. This is definitely false. There are so many examples of trans women who are incredibly beautiful and hyperfeminine And most straight guys aren't interested in anyone who either currently or previously ever lived as a man or boy. This is definit…

Lots. The gentle giant trope like Hodor from GoT. Frankenstein’s Monster is probably the prototype there. Or the devoted husband like Gomez Addams.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/07/26 08:47 PM

> Yeah, I wouldn't call her hyperfeminine. I thought the point was that she subverted femininity. What do you think made her hyperfeminine? The jewels, the big hair, big makeup, gowns. That’s the prime example of hyperfemininity. Femininity on steroids.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/07/26 08:30 PM

I don’t believe you
/r/PurplePillDebate24/07/26 08:28 PM

> I don't see how that is possible. Uh, Joan Collins in Dynasty is the high of femininity and dominance. Many other such examples. > Masculinity means confirming to gender sterotypes of men No

Are you saying all women? Because for certain that’s not true.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/07/26 08:24 PM

A woman can be into tentacle porn, doesn’t mean she wants to fuck an octopus
/r/PurplePillDebate24/07/26 08:20 PM

Why can’t they be? Masculine and feminine is a different scale to dominant and submissive. A dominant woman can be hyperfeminine, so why can’t a submissive man be hypermasculine? You’re just talking in gender stereotypes.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/07/26 08:19 PM

That’s just rubbish. Most women don’t want men tk be aggressive during sex. They want men to be tender and good with his hands.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/07/26 08:17 PM
2

I’m sure it’s easier to believe that than actually try and make yourself emotionally available
/r/PurplePillDebate24/07/26 08:16 PM

Having kids is a terrible idea all round
/r/PurplePillDebate24/07/26 08:13 PM

What?
/r/PurplePillDebate24/07/26 07:18 PM

That’s completely bonkers to me. If any woman genuinely thinks that then she’s vile.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/07/26 07:17 PM

Most of the women who read it probably have boring average overweight husbands. Fantasy (especially trash like that) does not equal reality.

Sex is definitely not an innate skill
/r/PurplePillDebate24/07/26 07:11 PM

Doesn’t mean we should take it seriously.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/07/26 07:09 PM

I’m supposed to judge what women like based on a trash twilight fanfic? Okay
/r/PurplePillDebate24/07/26 07:04 PM

A lot of men, especially those within the manosphere

Men think any behaviour from women that isn’t tending to men’s needs is self-centred. Women should be your mother, your therapist, your whore all at once, and god forbid they ask for anything in return.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/07/26 03:06 PM

The way heterosexual society polices gender absolutely gives away that it sees gender performativity as a sexual thing. It’s why they often accuse trans people of being fetishists rather than just being their true selves. They can’t imagine gender without having a sexual motivation. So of course they also see people who are failing to be attractive as genderless.

I have a lot of anger towards cis men as a trans woman who gets high amounts of sexual harassment and fetishisation from them and is pretty traumatised by it. I’m also in a very happy relationship with a trans man who adores me and supports me wholeheartedly. Not sure how these things are contradictory?

Omg what a loser
/r/PurplePillDebate22/07/26 05:18 PM

No, I wouldn’t know where to start with “beating the shit out of someone”. If someone physically assaults me (which I’ve had more than once) I either freeze or run away. It never enters my mind to fight back.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/07/26 05:16 PM

Well if ever there was evidence I was never a man

Are there literally no other men to look up to?

Of course this is a real picture of me

You’re tempted to be violent? Says a lot about you.

Because one is friendly and the other is a dangerous predator?
/r/PurplePillDebate22/07/26 04:48 PM

I don’t see why being man’s best friend wouldn’t be aspirational?
/r/PurplePillDebate22/07/26 03:30 PM

Men want to believe it’s all biological so they don’t have to do any changing

It’s not a human though is it
/r/PurplePillDebate22/07/26 03:11 PM

I think that’s just a convenient get out clause for nobody having to question their beliefs
/r/PurplePillDebate22/07/26 03:10 PM
1

Only if you care about physical strength, but it’s still dehumanising.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/07/26 03:09 PM

Ticks what boxes exactly? And that’s quite convenient isn’t it, you have an unfalsifiable belief
/r/PurplePillDebate22/07/26 03:08 PM

How so? They’re both dehumanisation

Indigenous American cultures have a long history of gender fluidity which white people tried to destroy.

Cultures are not disconnected, people have been intermingling and trading across the world for thousands of years. Moreover organised religion has impacted most cultures. There are some examples of much more isolated cultures which have very different beliefs about gender.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/07/26 02:26 PM
5

Yeah, you just need to find the one you get on best with, have most shared interests with etc.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/07/26 01:59 PM

It’s absolutely culture and not genes. Evopsych is nonsense
/r/PurplePillDebate22/07/26 01:01 PM

The world is full of sexist double standards. Hopefully they are gradually disappearing, but bloody hell people seem desperate to hang onto them for some reason.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/07/26 01:00 PM

Yeah they are, men are always saying they hate tattoos on women and prefer women with minimal makeup
/r/PurplePillDebate22/07/26 12:10 PM

Yeah of course, it’s cultural indoctrination from a young age. There’s nothing unmasculine about crying.

No such thing as “alphas” or “betas”. It’s all made up.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/07/26 11:16 AM

Men have a lot of feelings and they love to treat women as free counsellors
/r/PurplePillDebate22/07/26 10:55 AM

Nah, my universal observation is that attractive people get treated badly because of jealousy, objectification, and the assumption they are stupid.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/07/26 10:37 AM
4

So many of them seem to want to talk about their feelings afterwards. I’m like, get out of my house.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/07/26 09:42 AM

I do what I can, keep my hair short, wear scary makeup, have tattoos etc anything to avoid the male gaze
/r/PurplePillDebate22/07/26 09:05 AM

Who says it gets you what you want? In my experience it leads to a lot of sexual harassment and people thinking you are stupid
/r/PurplePillDebate22/07/26 07:10 AM

I think a lot of attractive people say they would give up the positive attention if it meant they could get rid of the negative attention
/r/PurplePillDebate22/07/26 07:09 AM

This is a false assumption. Hot people often have it harder. They are objectified for their hotness in every walk of life, and their brains and skills overlooked, as the OP clearly demonstrates.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/07/26 06:56 AM
2

Haha we do need to take it back.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/07/26 06:42 PM

/r/PurplePillDebate21/07/26 09:21 AM

There’s a difference between looking and leering. Leering is sexual harassment.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/07/26 09:20 AM

Of course, beauty standards for gay men are off the charts.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/07/26 09:10 AM

In that case vaginismus is the man’s problem to solve, seems about the same logic.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/07/26 08:35 AM

I’ll never understand why some men insist on trying to stay silent during sex, it’s so weird.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/07/26 08:32 AM
1

You don’t think gay men are culturally and socially different to straight men? You’re delusional. Who’s getting the most picked on at school or by their parents? It’s the gay kid. If they’re not biologically different and not socially different how do you account for the differences in DV rates? Well, if you can suggest a way women can reliably work out which straight men to avoid, I’m happy to hear it.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/07/26 03:33 PM
1

I didn’t say they’re not biologically men. They’re clearly socialised differently though. The way men express emotions is socialised not biological.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/07/26 03:21 PM
1

Women should avoid straight men? I agree
/r/PurplePillDebate20/07/26 03:10 PM
1

Doesn’t surprise me at all that gay men are less violent than straight men.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/07/26 02:54 PM
1

It’s not my claim, the claim comes from the CDC data. Bisexual women 61.1% report DV, 89.5% of which had a male perpetrator Lesbian women 43.8% report DV, 38.9% of which had a male perpetrator Heterosexual women 35% report DV, 98.7% of which had a male perpetrator So overall that’s a picture of women much less frequently being perpetrators of DV
/r/PurplePillDebate20/07/26 02:28 PM

That’s a misrepresentation of the data. Bisexual and lesbian women are more likely to have been victims of DV, but the perpetrators are still most likely to be men from relationships prior to coming out.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/07/26 02:01 PM

What sort of stats would you like? The DV rates not good enough? What about the fact that 90% of injuries from intentionally punching a wall are men.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/07/26 11:03 AM
1

This is a gross misrepresentation of feminism. Because, as I said, all of your ideas about feminism have come from reading anti-feminist material.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/07/26 10:02 AM
1

Managing your own emotions doesn’t mean suppressing them until a time when you explode, which is what most men do.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/07/26 09:55 AM
1

That’s not emotional intelligence. No I believe all of them are choices, and thus have consequences.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/07/26 07:14 AM
1

Bye then
/r/PurplePillDebate16/07/26 08:30 PM
1

I don’t know maybe you’re accusing me of something I didn’t say.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/07/26 08:09 PM
1

Just did what?
/r/PurplePillDebate16/07/26 07:56 PM
1

No I don’t, but clearly their sphere of influence is greater. The women being right wing anti-feminist shills are trying to influence men also.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/07/26 07:55 PM
1

I absolutely don’t think it should be okay for women to be doing those things to men either. 4% of men though? Doubtful. Every construction crew catcalls women, that’s 1 in 9 men on its own.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/07/26 07:54 PM
1

Right wing shills don’t a trend make
/r/PurplePillDebate16/07/26 07:14 PM
1

Well all I can tell you is when I lament the frequent sexual harassment I experience, a lot of men pipe up to say I shouldn’t complain, they’d love it if it happened to them. I don’t think women are lamenting not being sexually harassed enough. You’re talking rubbish.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/07/26 07:00 PM
1

Clearly it doesn’t happen to them very much
/r/PurplePillDebate16/07/26 06:40 PM
1

Men say it on this very forum all the time. “I’d love it if women sexually objectified me”.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/07/26 06:02 PM
1

I’ve never seen women say they love being sexually harassed in public
/r/PurplePillDebate16/07/26 05:55 PM
1

Because men say they love it on the rare occasions when women sexually objectify them, and women walk home with their keys between their fingers
/r/PurplePillDebate16/07/26 05:51 PM
1

Doubt
/r/PurplePillDebate16/07/26 05:25 PM
1

I don’t, I just don’t think it’s as common or as scary
/r/PurplePillDebate16/07/26 05:23 PM
0

The casual sexual harassment is what permits the more serious stuff. It’s so normalised that men think they can get away with worse.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/07/26 05:10 PM
4

Yeah obviously there’s nuance, I was just matching the OP’s energy
/r/PurplePillDebate16/07/26 02:47 PM
1

The numbers prove a small number of men get convicted of violent crime. What the numbers don’t show is all the lesser sexual harassment that is a daily occurance, and the culture which socialised these men to see women as sex objects. You’re only seeing the tip of the iceberg. Sure there are some decent men out there who are genuinely feminist, I’m not denying that at all. But I’m always incredibly dubious of men who try to deny that everyday sexism exists, that sexual violence is just psycho me…
/r/PurplePillDebate16/07/26 02:01 PM
0

I didn’t say whole gender, did I? I’m just refuting your suggesting that it’s a small number of men. You’re just trying to minimise the problem, and I have to question your motivations for doing so.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/07/26 01:32 PM
0

The numbers don’t add up. How can it be a small minority when there’s such a huge number of incidents? How can you get situations like fifty men from the same small town all raping Gisele Pelicot?
/r/PurplePillDebate16/07/26 01:08 PM
2

Glad you agree
/r/PurplePillDebate16/07/26 12:19 PM

/r/PurplePillDebate16/07/26 12:05 PM

Men choose to enter dangerous or physically labour intensive jobs. Men choose to be miserable and lonely. Men choose to dampen their emotions so they can’t feel their grief and can only express anger and aggression. Men choose to be violent towards women. Men choose to rape women. Men choose to end up ostracised by society or in prison. I see a lot of men claiming they are conditioned by society or it’s their biology. Either you can make a decision independently or you can’t.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/07/26 11:59 AM
2

Love it when men just assume they are more “logical” than women, when in reality men are highly emotional.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/07/26 11:40 AM
1

It’s standard in any debate that if you mention a person or an event or an idea you have to explain who or what they are assuming the other person doesn’t have your knowledge.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/07/26 11:35 AM
1

You keep referencing things and not explaining what they are. But tbqh I’m not interested in talking to you any more. You’re too far gone.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/07/26 11:31 AM
2

Whatever, it’s still not a real difference. People could choose to go against the social conditioning at any time.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/07/26 11:11 AM
3

All you’d find is evidence of gendered trends, which are socially conditioned, but certainly not universal or a discrete binary.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/07/26 11:07 AM
11

Why’s it her responsibility to ask? The trash needs taking out, a responsible person would notice it and just do it.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/07/26 11:04 AM
3

Disagree, it’s well proven that men are not as emotionally resilient as woman, because they’re taught to dampen their emotions from a young age.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/07/26 11:00 AM
1

The police very often adopt a victim blaming attitude, which is why a lot of sexual violence goes unreported.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/07/26 10:58 AM
1

Yes we do, and women need to feel safe working in male dominated environments. Much of what puts them off is the demeaning and sexually harassing behaviour from the men in these professions, not women thinking the role is “too hard”. What’s hard or dangerous about plumbing?
/r/PurplePillDebate16/07/26 10:57 AM
0

Whilst people should protect themselves, if you lean too hard into putting the responsibility onto the victim, then it’s just giving a free pass to perpetrators to do as they want.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/07/26 10:53 AM
1

I’m not even following the conversation because none of your answers seem to relate to the post before.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/07/26 10:52 AM
4

Mathematically? Show me your workings
/r/PurplePillDebate16/07/26 10:51 AM
3

That’s just gender stereotypes
/r/PurplePillDebate16/07/26 10:49 AM
10

Pointless gendering of personality traits. People can have these traits or not, it’s got nothing to do with gender.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/07/26 09:49 AM
-1

It’s not a small minority though. It’s enough that 97% of women have been sexually harassed in public.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/07/26 09:45 AM
2

Women get told these things too. Learn self defence. Carry mace. Don’t walk home alone at night. The victim is always blamed because society has a vested interest in male violence.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/07/26 09:43 AM
1

I’ve no idea what you’re on about. You’re clearly so deeply indoctrinated by your MRA echo chamber you don’t live in the real world.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/07/26 09:33 AM
9

Men are definitely more neurotic than women.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/07/26 09:33 PM
1

We’ve literally got an MP in my country who is a female plumber, what are you on about? You want to make out like these jobs are hard, because if women can do them just as easily (which they can) then you can’t stroke your macho ego any more.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/07/26 09:20 PM
1

Literally nobody is making you do them. Go get a traditionally female-dominated job if that’s what you want. What’s stopping you?
/r/PurplePillDebate15/07/26 06:10 PM
1

Men don’t have to do such things. Who’s expecting them to? Go get an “easy” job if that’s what you want. Bloody hell men want to be oppressed so bad.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/07/26 06:01 PM
1

Jobs being gendered goes both ways. You’re the one enforcing it in this conversation. Either way it’s sexist and idiotic.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/07/26 05:01 PM
1

40% of paramedics are women so this is not a smaller number. But you assume this is women avoiding these fields, rather than men thinking they need to prove themselves by doing more dangerous work (rather than hard work, these are not the same thing). I think most men would still balk at some of the jobs women do, you’re just dismissing it as easy. I’d love to see most men doing a 12 hour nursing shift, or be a TA in a special needs school.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/07/26 04:42 PM
1

That’s not even true. Despite the fact that women are entering the workforce for jobs like construction at 45% greater rates than they used to, it’s not even true that jobs traditionally done by women are easy. You think working as a nurse isn’t hard, demanding or dangerous? You’re just sexist.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/07/26 03:52 PM
1

Men give up when things become hard, demanding or dangerous all the time.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/07/26 03:33 PM
2

But you’re denying any accountability? At the end of the day, men are responsible for their own feelings and behaviour, you can’t blame anyone else if you’re not prepared to help yourself.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/07/26 03:28 PM
1

What do you think causes that difference if not gender stereotypes in society?
/r/PurplePillDebate15/07/26 02:45 PM

Like, I get that cheating is a betrayal. But if you love your kids why would their genetic makeup be “devastating”? You’d still be their dad
/r/PurplePillDebate15/07/26 02:39 PM
1

Mostly a fear of emasculation, not feeling masculine enough, usually in comparison with other men, which leads to a lot of overcompensation, posturing, hiding emotions, or downright pretending to be something they are not.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/07/26 02:31 PM
0

You’re assuming. Quite frankly if they’re on the motorway it’s not safe for either of them to change the tyre and they should call the emergency services. But the idea that women can’t work for the police or for auto assistance is sexist af.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/07/26 01:58 PM
3

Men’s biggest problem in everything is their shame. They carry shame about absolutely everything.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/07/26 01:48 PM
2

Okay but this is the problem that normie heterosexual people are appropriating kink terms when what they actually mean is gender roles. Nothing about that implies power exchange. If a man wants to be a pillow princess that’s his prerogative, but he’ll be dealing with the same issue everyone else deals with, which is top shortage.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/07/26 01:28 PM

Why would that be an issue?
/r/PurplePillDebate15/07/26 01:25 PM
2

Oh for sure, I can’t tell you the amount of submissive men I’ve talked to in kink spaces who then aren’t into pain. I’m confused as to how you can be vanilla and submissive though.. what would that look like?
/r/PurplePillDebate15/07/26 01:12 PM
1

I dunno a lot of couples think they are being subversive simply by doing kink, but it’s just playing out normative gender roles and giving men an excuse to beat up women.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/07/26 12:58 PM
0

What’s wrong with that? Less conventionally attractive people seem to have way more sex than beautiful people.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/07/26 12:52 PM
1

What a load of stereotypical rubbish, I know plenty of hard as nails women who would be more than happy to change a tyre. And plenty of men who would just call the AA. Don’t forget that women are increasingly choosing to be alone. Who’s going to sort it out if they don’t?
/r/PurplePillDebate15/07/26 12:45 PM
1

Tbh I’m dubious of dominant men and submissive women just playing out normative gender roles. Nothing about that feels subversive.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/07/26 12:31 PM
2

They can and they do
/r/PurplePillDebate15/07/26 12:30 PM
2

I don’t think any submissive worth their salt should be lazy and passive.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/07/26 12:09 PM
1

This all seems incredibly convenient to maintain your belief that it’s women’s fault and you have zero control over your own emotions or psychological well-being. If any woman contradicts you she’s virtue signalling. How convenient.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/07/26 12:07 PM
7

This is a fair point tbh, although the lack of anonymity doesn’t seem to stop men from sexually harassing on the apps.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/07/26 11:30 AM
5

Yeah definitely. Fed up of men approaching me just because of my looks and not caring about my personality or interests.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/07/26 11:20 AM
1

You’ve got a serious case of DARVO
/r/PurplePillDebate15/07/26 10:18 AM
2

What on earth are you babbling on about?
/r/PurplePillDebate15/07/26 10:17 AM
3

If you think someone who is a right wing shill for the manosphere gives a shit about ethics or your safety you’re delusional. That’s just someone who likes violence.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/07/26 09:44 AM

They just want a mother
/r/PurplePillDebate15/07/26 09:24 AM
3

You’d rather trust your safety with a right wing MRA shill? Okay lol
/r/PurplePillDebate15/07/26 09:20 AM
3

If they’re doing it ethically yes. An ethical kink dynamic means meeting each other as equals first before entering into a consensual power exchange, and knowing you can end the scene at any time and go back to being equals.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/07/26 09:11 AM
5

You can’t respect women as people and be anti-feminist, those things are contradictory.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/07/26 09:10 AM
3

It’s not ethical kink or even ethical sex if you don’t respect each other’s humanity. That’s just using someone for their body or what they can do for you.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/07/26 09:09 AM
4

It sounds like you need some therapy, not a kink dynamic. And I’m sorry but one example of a sex worker who’s a shill for the manosphere doesn’t a trend make. I used to go to femdom events that had a round table discussion before the play party and feminism was a huge part of everything they did. Basically, you can’t expect women to do this very intensive thing for you if you don’t respect her as a person. Well, unless you pay a sex worker I guess, but even then they might have boundaries on bas…
/r/PurplePillDebate15/07/26 08:47 AM

Also, you can’t blame men for desiring a woman still willing to do the trad-wife duties despite having to work. Yeah we can? If you’re both going out to work then you should also both contribute to running the household. Expecting her to do it all on top of a full time job is lazy af.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/07/26 07:54 AM
7

Yes of course, boundaries are important. Any kink dynamic requires an in-depth discussion about limits, safewords, safety etc in order to make it ethical and safe. I have to say, you’re not going to get very far as a submissive man if you don’t respect feminist women. I’ve never met a femdom who wasn’t a massive feminist. I’d say the motivation for being a femdom is very often about reclaiming power from men.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/07/26 07:48 AM
0

It wouldn’t be perceived that way by an experienced dom.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/07/26 07:22 AM
5

Being sexually submissive definitely isn’t “weakness”. For someone to be able to take a good hiding they have to be very mentally strong.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/07/26 07:18 AM
2

It’s really dangerous
/r/PurplePillDebate15/07/26 07:09 AM
10

Men are naturally the submissive sex. I can’t tell you how many times men have given it the big talk about being naturally dominant and within five minutes they’ve been saying “yes mommy”. There are women out there who want to be sexually dominant. The mistake that submissive men often make is that they still sexually objectify dominant women, they still make it all about their own fantasies, and don’t consider that to be submissive is to give yourself up to someone else’s whims.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/07/26 06:57 AM
1

Well the op was about cucking
/r/PurplePillDebate15/07/26 06:03 AM
4

It’s problematic if men can’t just be friends with women without trying to make it sexual. It speaks volumes to how men view women as sex objects.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/07/26 05:42 AM

It’s got nothing to do with testosterone, and everything to do with the fact that young boys start dampening their emotional expression out of fear of being “like a girl” from around the age of 7 (boys and girls prior to this are basically the same)
/r/PurplePillDebate15/07/26 05:38 AM
1

Holy gender roles batman. Why is it so hard for two people to connect over shared interests? Playing these games is what’s ruining it.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/07/26 05:35 AM
1

Well then men can’t complain when women get fed up with dating them
/r/PurplePillDebate15/07/26 05:31 AM
1

No, competition is the bane of society. We would do much better as a society if we cooperated with each other.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/07/26 05:30 AM
1

Being cheated is different to cucking
/r/PurplePillDebate15/07/26 05:29 AM

All the women I know absolutely hate that men are stoic and emotionally unavailable. You do this to yourselves.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/07/26 05:28 AM
1

We’re not animals. If it’s genuinely not serving men why continue? Just making themselves unhappy.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/07/26 09:26 PM
1

Well, I guess the obvious liars get caught out quickly, it’s the skilled liars that manage to get you invested
/r/PurplePillDebate14/07/26 09:25 PM
1

Can’t ask people who’ve ghosted you and subsequently turned out to have been lying the whole time
/r/PurplePillDebate14/07/26 09:24 PM
1

What’s the motivation for lying and then ghosting before the date?
/r/PurplePillDebate14/07/26 09:10 PM
1

I think a lot of men are incredibly skilled liars. Chameleoning is very common on OLD apps
/r/PurplePillDebate14/07/26 09:09 PM
1

Are they even getting dates? I’ve watched my girlfriend talk to guys who disappear just before the actual date and it turns out it’s because they were lying about all sorts of things. What’s the motivation there?
/r/PurplePillDebate14/07/26 09:08 PM
1

This inform’s men’s behaviour in so many contexts it’s impossible to pick just one. Obviously it’s huge in dating to the point where it seems like men are treating dating as a competition with other men, not a connection with women. But also many other situations, men denying themselves anything fun because it might be seen as feminine.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/07/26 09:05 PM
1

What do you think would be humiliating enough for them to reconsider doing it again, then?
/r/PurplePillDebate14/07/26 08:48 PM
1

I think men would be a lot freer and happier if they gave up their fear of emasculation. Who is it serving?
/r/PurplePillDebate14/07/26 08:47 PM
1

Yeah. Faking who you are to get the online girlfriend experience is still a violation of consent. At the very least their wives should be told.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/07/26 08:44 PM
1

Doesn’t even get to sleeping with them. Some men just seem to want to have the online girlfriend experience. It’s pathetic how many have taken up just full on catfishing.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/07/26 08:41 PM
1

Humiliation seems to be the only language men understand…
/r/PurplePillDebate14/07/26 08:37 PM
1

Well maybe we should start creating more consequences for men who lie
/r/PurplePillDebate14/07/26 08:35 PM
1

Again why do men not have any accountability for telling lies?
/r/PurplePillDebate14/07/26 08:28 PM
1

Either way it seems to be men’s main fear in pretty much every situation in life.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/07/26 08:25 PM
-5

The expectation is always placed upon women to solve all of men’s problems. Men truly are the submissive sex.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/07/26 08:22 PM
1

Accountability for what?
/r/PurplePillDebate14/07/26 08:20 PM
0

We can’t detect them, hence we are incredibly distrustful from many bad experiences. The way to overcome that is to prove you are trustworthy.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/07/26 08:07 PM
1

They seem to think masculinity is just the absence of femininity though. That what’s deemed feminine is ever expanding. I literally saw a guy the other day saying he wouldn’t let his friend get him a birthday cake as that was gay.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/07/26 08:05 PM
1

Why’s the onus on women to become expert lie detectors and there’s no onus on men to not be liars?
/r/PurplePillDebate14/07/26 08:01 PM
3

I find it endlessly fascinating how much men fear humiliation, particularly emasculation. If your whole sense of identity can be taken away by someone else then it wasn’t very strong to begin with.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/07/26 07:57 PM
2

That’s weird I’ve come across a lot of men who positively get horny over the idea of being cuckolded. This is not rare in the slightest. There’s a reason the hotel corner chair is called the cuck chair.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/07/26 07:50 PM
1

Different women.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/07/26 07:26 PM
1

How do you spot liars? Some men seem incredibly expert at it. Almost all of them do it to some extent. It’s so normalised. And women are always blamed somehow.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/07/26 07:08 PM
-2

Genuinely baffled as to why you think being sexually desired is better than someone wanting to build a life with you. Sexual desire is cheap. Men just give it away all the time.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/07/26 06:53 PM
0

Bisexuality is common amongst men but only 11% of bi men are out, the rest are all hiding in straight relationships and having sex with men on the sly
/r/PurplePillDebate14/07/26 06:45 PM
4

Someone can say all the right things and still be lying their ass off
/r/PurplePillDebate14/07/26 06:43 PM
2

How are women supposed to “choose better” when men actively lie and chameleon their whole personalities to what they think women want?
/r/PurplePillDebate14/07/26 06:39 PM
0

Dunno I think often it is a choice, because in reality most people are some flavour of bi but scared of social repercussions.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/07/26 06:34 PM
0

Why would that be a bad thing? You can absolutely develop attraction for someone as you get to know them
/r/PurplePillDebate14/07/26 05:04 PM
0

Genuinely can’t understand why anyone would do it
/r/PurplePillDebate14/07/26 05:03 PM
2

It just seems really dangerous compared to all of those other things.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/07/26 05:02 PM
0

You’re inflicting this entirely on yourselves.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/07/26 04:45 PM
1

What country do you live in that the police are killing people?
/r/PurplePillDebate09/07/26 08:38 PM
1

It’s not a different trait in men and women, that makes zero sense.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/07/26 08:30 PM
1

Men are not oppressed for being men.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/07/26 08:29 PM
1

How very telling.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/07/26 08:02 PM
1

And black women experience higher rates of poverty, higher rates of sexual violence, higher unemployment, higher single parenthood. But I’m not getting into a game of oppression olympics with you.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/07/26 08:00 PM
1

Who are you, the word police? Language changes over time.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/07/26 07:56 PM
1

“Huge numbers of” ≠ “all” does it?
/r/PurplePillDebate09/07/26 07:22 PM
1

I never said they couldn’t. A black man is oppressed for being black, but not for being a man, and he has more privileges in society than a black woman who experiences a cumulative impact of belonging to two oppressed groups (for instance the gender pay gap is much higher for black women than it is for white women or for black men).
/r/PurplePillDebate09/07/26 07:21 PM
1

It’s not group membership, it’s based on particular men’s beliefs and behaviour. If a man doesn’t subscribe to toxic masculinity and doesn’t harass women sexually I don’t have any issue with him. The fact that you equate these two things is more telling of your beliefs about men tbqh.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/07/26 07:18 PM
1

I disagree, the term is much more broadly used than this in feminist circles. The types of men that are depicted as cultural sex symbols are a product of a media industry that operates on the male gaze. In reality women often lust after quite different sorts of men that most men would never expect.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/07/26 07:17 PM
1

Thing is, I don’t feel hatred towards people based on group membership. I feel hatred towards people based on bad behaviour that oppresses others, such as sexually harassing women. I have zero problem with feminist men.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/07/26 07:12 PM
1

That’s not bigotry. You’re not being systemically harmed by an individual disliking you. Get a grip.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/07/26 07:04 PM
1

If you’re claiming bigotry against men, then there needs to be oppression going on. Otherwise you’re just using that word incorrectly.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/07/26 06:57 PM
1

The male gaze is a depiction of the world that is created for a masculine heterosexual cis male perspective. Do plenty of women find it attractive? How do you know that? I think this is just a narrative that men tell themselves, when in reality they are just trying to emulate the hegemonic male archetype.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/07/26 06:57 PM
1

I never said he had to. I was just saying if he’s doing it to try and attract women it’s not a very sensible strategy, because it’s appealing to the male gaze.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/07/26 06:39 PM
1

Why do men wanna be oppressed so bad? You’re not the black people in this scenario, you’re the white people saying “all lives matter”
/r/PurplePillDebate09/07/26 06:38 PM
1

Femininity can be exciting lol. That’s not a masculine trait. What are you on about? You’re just gendering things that aren’t gendered.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/07/26 06:36 PM
1

Not personally but I’ve certainly read such papers
/r/PurplePillDebate09/07/26 06:35 PM
1

You’re the one talking about niche groups. Read my OP again. I was advocating for individual expression.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/07/26 04:51 PM
1

I dunno but a lot of them sure do harass me on the street
/r/PurplePillDebate09/07/26 04:51 PM
1

That’s not even remotely equivalent.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/07/26 04:50 PM
1

That’s a weird way to look at it. I’m encouraging individuality. Neurodivergent people are *more* likely to have niche interests, no? I dunno you just seem very nihilistic about it.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/07/26 04:39 PM
1

Why doesn’t it work? It just seems obvious that if you’re struggling to stand out you should do something to stand out.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/07/26 04:34 PM
1

Well, regardless it’s weird to just want to look the same as everyone else. My social circle is full of queers and autists so they wear all sorts of out there things lol.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/07/26 04:28 PM
1

Normie people are less likely to wear truly outlandish things but there’s still much greater diversity amongst women. I went to a work Christmas party once and the women were wearing all sorts of different outfits and hairstyles, but all the men were bald and wearing white shirts. It was like attack of the clones.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/07/26 04:25 PM
1

What did I say that was bigoted against men? Just very much sounds like you’re trying to silence victims of sexual violence.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/07/26 04:22 PM

Okay but if a guy says he goes to the gym it’s pretty much a turn off for me because I can’t think of anything more dull.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/07/26 04:20 PM
1

Are you saying women can’t be exciting? How very sexist. “Blue denim jeans, white shirt and dyed blonde hair. So original” You must be American.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/07/26 04:18 PM
1

Women are incredibly diverse compared to men. Where on earth are you living that every woman has the same dress and same haircut? Women have a huge range of ways they can present themselves. Every man here has the flatcap haircut with shaved sides. Height and jawline is irrelevant if you’re boring.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/07/26 04:09 PM
3

So she went through many hours of expensive and painful hair removal to cut down her time getting ready for a date. Great, most women don’t have that option. Tbh men should just get used to hairy women.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/07/26 04:04 PM
1

I’ve met many with that diagnosis and I don’t believe it’s real. Most of these people are just autistic with childhood trauma. It’s also just a really sexist diagnosis, it’s basically the new “hysteria”, a made up label psychiatry gives to problem women.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/07/26 04:02 PM
1

Yeah but if every man looks the same then it’s easy for some men to outpip the others by having a bit more muscle or whatever. This is why you get the hypergamy you all accuse women of. If men diversified it would be better for everyone .
/r/PurplePillDebate09/07/26 03:57 PM
-1

BPD isn’t real
/r/PurplePillDebate09/07/26 03:55 PM
1

This is why all men look the same. They get the same haircut and wear the same outfit and get a bit of muscle and the wonder why they are deemed average.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/07/26 03:51 PM
3

Well men shouldn’t object to hairy legs then.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/07/26 03:50 PM

How so? Being queer is literally a rejection of heterosexual norms. That’s freedom, which is why straight society wants to persecute it because they can’t imagine a freedom of their own.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/07/26 03:49 PM

I don’t need to know anything else about it to know that it’s primarily attractive to men and not women?
/r/PurplePillDebate09/07/26 03:46 PM
1

Creepy
/r/PurplePillDebate09/07/26 12:56 PM
1

Disagree, you can be as tall as you like it ain’t making up for looking unwashed or slovenly
/r/PurplePillDebate09/07/26 12:31 PM
1

So how exactly can women talk about the sexual harassment they experience without you calling it “bigotry”?
/r/PurplePillDebate09/07/26 12:30 PM
1

Nope it’s worse when they want to show off their gains
/r/PurplePillDebate09/07/26 12:30 PM
1

It is legal for both genders in many places
/r/PurplePillDebate09/07/26 12:29 PM
2

Where did I say men are subhuman? I don’t believe that. Quite the opposite, they treat women as subhuman. I can criticise a widespread cultural behaviour without it being bigotry. I’m saying nothing else of men’s character, nor am I implying it is all men. Just enough men that I feel unsafe to leave the house alone.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/07/26 08:22 AM
0

I just learnt it’s illegal for men to be shirtless in the street in Venice and I wish we had this law in my country.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/07/26 08:16 AM
1

Sorry but exactly what conclusion should I draw when every time I leave the house men sexualise me? My housemate arrived home the other day in a panic because some guy had been following her saying “pretty legs gonna get you”. You know full well this happens, because you wouldn’t dare leave the house as a woman.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/07/26 08:13 AM
1

You don’t empathise with women, or you’d empathise with survivors of sexual violence.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/07/26 08:01 AM
1

Well of course you won’t do anything that could possibly challenge your worldview or help you empathise with women. You’re too far gone for that.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/07/26 08:00 AM
1

Except of course you would never do that because you know exactly how men would behave towards you.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/07/26 07:56 AM
1

My belief is actually the opposite, that men like you have never interacted with other men. If you want a perspective on how men treat anything in skirt, put on a tight dress, heels and a wig and go walk around the town centre for a while.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/07/26 07:53 AM
2

Such as? Perhaps you just can’t accept the way men treat women in public places and on dating apps. You’re expecting me to still give men the benefit of the doubt that they’re “good” despite the constant non-consensual sexualising of women.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/07/26 07:49 AM
2

How so? You claimed feminist women had never interacted with a man. I’ve interested with many hundreds, and that’s why I hold the views I do.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/07/26 07:43 AM
1

Well, I am happily partnered, just not with a cis man. Not sure being happily partnered with a cis man is possible.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/07/26 07:41 AM
12

Straight conservative society. I don’t see the queer leftists demanding this of men.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/07/26 07:39 AM
1

A lot of us have come to the opinion that huge numbers of men are rapists precisely *because* we have interacted with cis men and this is how they have behaved towards us
/r/PurplePillDebate09/07/26 07:36 AM
1

Still doesn’t mean it’s white knighting. That implies it’s disingenuous
/r/PurplePillDebate09/07/26 07:30 AM
1

You think feminist men are always “white knights”? That’s pretty cynical
/r/PurplePillDebate09/07/26 07:20 AM
1

I think men trying to be dominant or leaders is always a joke.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/07/26 07:01 AM
2

Whole books have been written on the male gaze.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/07/26 06:58 AM
1

Why the hell would I want to learn about weight lifting? This is the whole point: men think it’s important to do weight lifting to attract women, but most women think it’s boring.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/07/26 06:56 AM
1

How is it?
/r/PurplePillDebate09/07/26 06:26 AM
1

I disagree. I’ve seen lots of women complain that straight men are “unwashed”. How you present yourself matters.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/07/26 06:25 AM
1

Why’s it far more consequential? If men exclude you you won’t have any male friends, you might not be able to get a job, you could be regularly beaten up… queer men experience this a lot
/r/PurplePillDebate09/07/26 06:24 AM
1

He was literally trolling me
/r/PurplePillDebate09/07/26 06:23 AM
1

I’m not American or “liberal”. And it’s a perfectly useful word, what else would you have me say?
/r/PurplePillDebate09/07/26 06:22 AM
1

Who am I performing for?
/r/PurplePillDebate09/07/26 06:20 AM
2

He looks about 12, so no.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 10:15 PM
3

If you’d actually make your point rather than skirting around it. Just trolling clearly.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 10:09 PM
2

They’re sadists
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 10:06 PM
1

I don’t get it
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 10:04 PM
0

I just don’t want it full stop currently. If I wanted it again I’d consider paying for a professional.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 09:56 PM
1

When I was actively looking for cock. I decided to give up instead.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 09:50 PM
5

I’ve definitely considered it, because most free cock is annoying to obtain and not very good when it arrives.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 09:48 PM
3

The not having to spend hours getting ready for a date
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 09:46 PM
1

I may be crazy, but I am free
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 09:38 PM
1

Totally unmedicated, baby ✌️
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 09:36 PM
1

Yeah, because the system is designed to keep people oppressed, but you enjoy prison life I guess
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 09:29 PM
1

Yeah that’s the point isn’t it, you want queers to be “normal” by which you mean palatable to your straight sensibilities
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 09:27 PM

Sure you do 👍
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 09:23 PM

Leave us alone and we’ll leave you alone.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 09:21 PM

If it ain’t got nothing to do with you your disagreement is irrelevant
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 09:17 PM

It’s not really yours to disagree with
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 09:15 PM

Because being straight is deeply uncool
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 09:12 PM
1

It’s men who exclude gender non-conformity in other men, often with violence.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 09:01 PM
1

You’re still alone if you’re pretending to be someone else.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 08:56 PM
1

You can all repeat this ad nauseam but I only see men objecting to the idea that men should be less masculine.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 08:55 PM
0

I’ve no idea and I don’t care.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 08:04 PM
1

What if it does hurt your feelings?
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 08:03 PM
1

Better to be yourself than try to appeal to people who don’t like you.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 08:02 PM
1

Appeal to the female gaze, learn what women like.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 08:00 PM
1

It’s not a niche if it’s the “ideal”. If you’re literally trying to emulate comic book heroes.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 05:54 PM
1

Maybe bodybuilding isn’t what I meant? I meant like… fitness. Men who have their tops off on Instagram.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 05:36 PM
1

And if every man believes that nothing will ever change.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 05:35 PM
1

Dunno, are they? Lots of women I know say they like some meat to hang on to. Muscles are hard, they’re not nice to cuddle.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 05:34 PM
1

Because it’s all in aid of upholding the hegemonic male ideal.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 05:33 PM
1

No
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 05:19 PM
1

America does seem especially extreme in its reinforcement of gender norms.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 05:19 PM
1

Except women have had a movement to dismantle the expectations of femininity over the last few centuries and as a result have a lot more freedom. Men need the same thing to happen.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 03:50 PM
0

Well it certainly won’t happen if no men try to change it. And blaming women is silly. Ultimately you are the master of your own destiny.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 03:38 PM
1

Like white flowers and cum, I don’t know what else to say lol
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 03:27 PM
1

Yeah exactly. Look how harmful masculinity is that men can’t even express sadness or anxiety. These are normal human emotions. This is why I say masculinity is prison and men should be seeking to dismantle it.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 03:19 PM
1

I identify as post-gender, I think we should do away with binary gender entirely. It’s all stupid. I have lots of perfumes with all sorts of different notes, I would never limit myself to perfumes just for women. The heavily gendered perfumes are all trash. Why would I want to smell sickly sweet? I have perfumes that smell of seaweed, dirty animal hides, semen, mushrooms, all sorts.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 03:16 PM
1

Pfft studies conducted by men no doubt. Evopsych nonsense.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 03:14 PM
1

Gendering things like pencils and notebooks is absurd.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 03:03 PM
2

Yeah I live in the UK, football culture is rife here. And yeah, footballers are airheaded Chads, which is a massive turn off.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 03:02 PM
1

Because a lot of men express negative feelings as anger.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 03:01 PM
1

Where’s your evidence for that?
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 03:00 PM
1

Average men are average. As I say, it’s easy to stand out as a man. But so many are too scared to.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 02:49 PM
0

I really don’t think it’s women selecting for this. Men police it in themselves. I see women all the time trying to persuade men to open up and be more emotional, to be more expressive, to not care so much about being masculine.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 02:49 PM
1

They’re not just aesthetic changes, it’s called having a personality.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 02:31 PM
1

I don’t agree, from a woman’s perspective, that this is what women are selecting for in men. I hear women all the time saying men are ridiculous in how insecure they are about not being perceived as masculine enough. I see women fantasising about freaks, weirdos all the time.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 02:29 PM

The fact that straight men don’t think clothes matter is part of the problem.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 02:28 PM
1

I can’t think of anything worse than dating a footballer.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 02:21 PM
1

I don’t think it is all for fun. It’s presented as harmless fun when in reality it’s about enforcing conformity to the norm. You particularly see this when groups of guys will pick on another man for something he’s wearing on the street. It’s a performance for the other guys in the group to not deviate from the rules.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 02:21 PM
1

I don’t agree.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 02:18 PM
1

Really? I see lots of women mocking how men’s products are absurdly gendered because men couldn’t possibly buy anything perceived even slightly feminine.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 02:17 PM
0

As in won’t do anything deemed different or unmasculine for fear of being ridiculed. I’m a trans woman, I speak to straight men all the time who’d love to date a trans woman but would never dare tell their friends.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 02:04 PM
1

Clothes, haircuts, interests, hobbies, emotions… you name it the spectrum of acceptable behaviour for men is incredibly narrow
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 02:02 PM
1

I really don’t know where you’ve got this impression from.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 01:44 PM
1

So all men end up being exactly the same and acceptable masculinity gets narrower and narrower. The men’s clothing section is a barren wasteland.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 01:32 PM
1

I really don’t perceive there to be competition amongst women in anywhere near the same way there is competition amongst men. Women are always championing and celebrating other women.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 01:27 PM
1

It’s pretty absurd how narrow masculinity has become
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 01:25 PM
1

Go away please
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 01:16 PM
5

Having a preference for low body counts is basically admitting you have performance anxiety.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 01:15 PM
1

How so? I’m literally saying be yourself and don’t try and conform to masculine standards, as you’re more likely to find your niche. Masculine standards are a prison.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 01:10 PM
1

I’ve reported you
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 01:08 PM
1

This is a debate sub, and you’re trolling which is against the rules.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 01:05 PM
1

You’re just being incredibly childish.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 01:04 PM
1

Yeah well it’s usually dressed up as “it’s just banter, you can’t take a joke”
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 01:03 PM
1

What’s extreme about it? Men compliment each other on muscles and “progress”, that’s commonplace.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 01:03 PM
1

Wait, you’re not doing it for yourself? You’re contradicting yourself. If you can’t have a sensible discussion I don’t see how this is helpful.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 01:02 PM
1

I don’t wear it for men’s approval. Men literally hate my makeup lol. They say it’s too bold or too colourful and they prefer women without makeup.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 12:51 PM
1

Nope, it would make them better because you’d stand out to a few instead of blending in to the many.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 12:50 PM
2

I was dating a man 15 years older than me who had a grey moustache and a big belly for years. I used to love rubbing his hairy fat belly. But don’t believe me if you want lol.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 12:49 PM
1

If you say so. Carry on being hypermasculine for yourself then, I don’t care.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 12:41 PM
1

Screaming “gay” out of car windows. Laughing at me in the street. And also I got physically beaten up a few times.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 12:40 PM
1

Yes
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 12:37 PM
1

I see lots of men claiming the opposite, that they go to the gym specifically to be more attractive to women.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 12:36 PM
3

I haven’t even seen the movie but yeah Loki is way more attractive than Thor. Thor is 100% the male gaze ideal.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 12:32 PM
0

I think as a minority reclaiming the nasty things people have said to you as a joke can be helpful for sure. My house is all trans people and we do this too. This is very different to the average straight male banter imho where men don’t dare step out of line.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 12:23 PM
1

I’m literally arguing the opposite, that men should stop conforming to standards of masculinity because they are harmful.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 12:21 PM
1

But most of those 400 applications will look exactly the same and not really have the skills for the job.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 12:13 PM
1

Yeah exactly. So apply that to dating.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 12:11 PM
1

I know plenty of women who are into twinky guys. Lean in to what makes you different.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 12:09 PM
0

It’s not a numbers game. Women don’t want to be seen as interchangeable any more than men do.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 12:09 PM
1

Well that’s a red flag.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 12:08 PM
1

If you say so. Just my observation.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 12:02 PM
1

Because all men try to be the same. It’s really easy to stand out as different as a man. I don’t know why more men don’t try it.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 12:02 PM
0

Why do men see dating as a numbers game? You’re not trying to find lots of women, you’re trying to find the right woman for you.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 11:53 AM
1

Says who? I know lots of women who are into freaks and weirdos.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 11:52 AM
0

It is good advice for seeking employment. You need to market yourself as being perfect for the specific role. You need to stand out from the crowd.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 11:52 AM
1

There are lots of different types of women with different tastes in men.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 11:51 AM
1

Nope, because that’s what every man is trying to do
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 11:44 AM
1

I think often when men have zero options it’s because they’re blending in. They need to make themselves appear special, not average.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 11:44 AM
1

Not all women want “tall, dark and handsome” the same way not all men want “blonde with big tits”.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 11:30 AM
2

Know what?
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 11:29 AM
1

I’m trans, I’ve been on the receiving end of men bullying about failing at masculinity for many years before I transitioned.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 11:29 AM
1

How mature
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 11:28 AM
2

Blame men for what? I wear makeup for myself.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 11:27 AM

Well fine, be hypermasculine for the male gaze if you want, just don’t be dishonest about your motives.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 11:25 AM
-3

It was the assertion of what women think that I did not believe
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 11:24 AM
1

Then men need to market themselves better
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 11:23 AM
1

I don’t think so, I know lots of women who find men trying to be dominant and “alpha” repulsive
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 11:22 AM
0

Why would you willingly sign up to be “friends” with people who mock you for any perceived difference of weakness?
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 11:22 AM
-2

No because it’s ridiculous
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 11:12 AM
1

Lol if you say so. We didn’t struggle for a lack of interest, just a lack of men willing to be submissive.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 11:12 AM
-1

So be a niche within a niche. Be the exact freak someone is looking for.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 11:11 AM
3

I just don’t agree that the things men believe are attractive in men are actually what women are looking for. You’re all trying to appeal to the male gaze by being hypermasculine.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 11:10 AM
1

That’s so weird to me. I wouldn’t want to date someone who I didn’t have shared interests with.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 11:03 AM
1

Perhaps, I guess that’s why it’s enforced so heavily, patriarchal power.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 11:02 AM
1

Only men believe this. Most women say they express themselves with makeup and fashion because they enjoy it, not to please men or compete with other women. If it’s competitive, why do other women compliment each other on their clothes and makeup all the time? I regularly have women stop me on the street to say they love my outfit.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 11:01 AM
2

Who says I don’t? Literally the last five men I’ve dated have all had moustaches and dressed a bit fruity lol.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 10:55 AM
-2

Niche has a high success rate with people into that niche.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 10:54 AM
1

Sure thing
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 10:42 AM
1

It’s sad if you believe that. Me and my partner are obsessed with each other because we completely match each other’s freak.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 10:33 AM
1

Says who? I’ve often struggled because I’m primarily attracted to men who are a bit camp/fruity and problem is they are mostly gay. Straight men try to hide these aspects of themselves.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 10:32 AM
1

Most kink scenes have a vanilla munch event which you can attend to get to know people.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 10:30 AM
1

Turn up is the number one advice. We really struggled to find submissive men on the scene. Lots of online fantasists but they never show up irl. The ones we ended up engaging with were the ones who showed up.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 10:26 AM
4

Ugh why everything gotta be “maxxing”?
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 10:25 AM
3

Because you’re choosing to blend in rather than stand out.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 10:21 AM
1

You think women find cookie cutter men attractive whilst valuing interest and creativity in women? Doesn’t make any sense. I see lots of women complaining that men are really boring.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 10:20 AM
2

If you say so. Me and my partner were always looking for submissive men and they just didn’t show up. So who’s confirmation bias, exactly?
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 10:18 AM
3

But the person you meet won’t like you for who you are?
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 10:16 AM
-3

Where does this idea come from that there aren’t enough niche women to go around? Women are wayyyy more permitted to have niche interests and expression. There’s not even just one way for a girl to be alternative, there’s lots of different ways.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 10:14 AM
0

Do they? I personally find it a massive turn off. Men are naturally the submissive gender.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 10:12 AM
3

How so? I frequent the kink scene which overlaps heavily with the alt/punk scenes and loads of dorky strange men have lots of success with women.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 10:11 AM
5

What’s dishonest about it?
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 10:10 AM
1

I completely disagree. Surely the whole point is finding someone who loves you wholeheartedly for who you really are?
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 10:09 AM
9

It’s a catch22 then. I’ve often wanted to tell a man on the street he dresses well or I like his moustache but I’m worried he’ll think I’m trying to sleep with him.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 10:03 AM
-2

> There aren't enough "niche" women to go around - women who like shy, passive, unmasculine etc. men. Do you think men would be so keen on bending to these archetypes if women didn't en masse prefer that? The “en masse” is the problem. If you try to appeal to the mass market you’re only ever going to be perceived as average. It’s better to try and market yourselves as special to a smaller group of people who are into your particular niche.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 10:02 AM
5

Lol, you’re probably right.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 09:54 AM
5

All the men I’ve seen on various subculture scenes have women throwing themselves at them. Having a niche absolutely pays.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 09:39 AM
3

No but she absolutely exists, and when you find her she’s going to be enthusiastic.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 09:38 AM
4

It’s still my firm believe that men who try to get muscles do so to try and compete with other men. Even the measure of “sex with women” is an attempt to compete with other men.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 09:37 AM
5

Women would compliment men more if men didn’t take it as a sexual come on.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 09:36 AM
2

Well, that’s interesting because in my mind confidence and charisma tends to go along with individuality, not conformity. A lot of men are scared of being charismatic and interesting because they’re worried about coming across as a little fruity.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 09:35 AM
3

My argument is that limiting your dating options is good actually. You’re better to be one person’s champagne rather than everybody’s cup of tea.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 09:32 AM
1

Well some women are into muscles but certainly not all. I prefer chubby guys, always have.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 09:30 AM
3

Yes absolutely. I already select for overweight older men with moustaches who dress in smart clothes and are into classical literature. But very few men appeal to this niche because they’re all terrified other men will call them gay.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 09:29 AM
-4

I only ever hear men saying this, and quite frankly I don’t believe it to be true. Every body builder influencer can tell you the majority of compliments they get are from other men. If men want success with women they’d be much better to diversify.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 09:21 AM
1

How so?
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/26 08:44 AM
1

What sort of punishment are we talking about?
/r/PurplePillDebate03/07/26 04:10 PM
3

Thats not really how democracy works
/r/PurplePillDebate03/07/26 03:42 PM

No because kind men are also in short supply
/r/PurplePillDebate03/07/26 03:28 PM

Who are you, the morality police?
/r/PurplePillDebate03/07/26 01:29 PM
1

Like threesomes or going to sex clubs
/r/PurplePillDebate03/07/26 01:27 PM

In that they exist, so seek them out.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/07/26 01:27 PM

It’s misogynistic to see women as property rather than autonomous human beings with the right to withdraw consent at any time.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/07/26 01:26 PM
1

If your connection is strong, then no it wouldn’t. When I’ve had open situations it’s brought me closer to my partner because it was a shared experience.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/07/26 01:25 PM

Who else are you going to be?
/r/PurplePillDebate03/07/26 01:22 PM
1

Men in general aren’t an oppressed minority. It’s the difference between punching up and punching down.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/07/26 01:21 PM

You want to punish women for their dating choices?
/r/PurplePillDebate03/07/26 10:43 AM

Unknown men are potentially dangerous and violent. Men think this too.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/07/26 10:42 AM

Since when is the world fair? People are mostly selfish arseholes. Seek out the ones who aren’t.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/07/26 10:36 AM

So those women aren’t for you. Find the ones that are.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/07/26 10:29 AM

And to think I respected your opinion
/r/PurplePillDebate03/07/26 10:27 AM

It’s an offensive stereotype in much the same way.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/07/26 10:27 AM

And men like subservient bimbos who don’t answer back. Not “all” men of course.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/07/26 10:25 AM

Seems counter productive but okay
/r/PurplePillDebate03/07/26 10:17 AM

Yikes. Are you a reform voter?
/r/PurplePillDebate03/07/26 10:10 AM

Which women? There’s plenty of us who despise violent misogynists and toxic masculinity and are happily dating soft, kind, emotionally available men.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/07/26 10:06 AM

68% of rapes committed by white men in the UK https://www.cps.gov.uk/foi/2025/number-individuals-prosecuted-and-convicted-rape-offences-england-wales-2024-2025-broken
/r/PurplePillDebate03/07/26 09:56 AM
1

Poor strategy, scaling back your standards doesn’t work, the less attractive guys will also use her for sex.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/07/26 09:52 AM

All the stats show most rapes and murders of women in European countries are done by white men.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/07/26 09:50 AM
2

It’s still a racial stereotype. Muslims aren’t trying to take over Europe.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/07/26 09:43 AM
5

Bloody hell this thread is a racist bin fire
/r/PurplePillDebate03/07/26 09:06 AM
1

That assumes that relationships have no meaning outside of sex
/r/PurplePillDebate03/07/26 09:00 AM
1

How is any different to the way you’ve been indoctrinated by anti-feminists?
/r/PurplePillDebate03/07/26 08:57 AM
0

And of course all the comments are from men
/r/PurplePillDebate03/07/26 08:52 AM
1

My friend was followed home the other day by a man saying “pretty legs gonna get you”. That’s what we’re scared of. We’re just asking for some basic empathy for what we have to deal with.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/07/26 07:30 AM
1

Ghosting is definitely not better than having an honest conversation.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/07/26 07:51 PM
1

Uh, internet dating has been around since I was a teenager, I’m not that old lol. But also, if you are using OLD there is different social etiquette in terms of proving you are safe before meeting in person, and you’d think it’s more important.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/07/26 07:37 PM

People should have to have a license to have kids
/r/PurplePillDebate02/07/26 07:31 PM
1

What does my age have to do with it?
/r/PurplePillDebate02/07/26 07:11 PM
1

I don’t disagree, just show me the data to prove it.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/07/26 07:03 PM

Horrifying
/r/PurplePillDebate02/07/26 07:02 PM
1

We absolutely can interrogate where our preferences have come from, and whether they are informed by societal prejudices.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/07/26 07:01 PM
1

I disagree. Sexual preferences often give away broader prejudices. Sexual racism is still racism for instance.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/07/26 07:01 PM
1

For any arbitrary physical trait that people discriminate against
/r/PurplePillDebate02/07/26 06:59 PM
5

If you can prove that short men are systematically discriminated against in the workplace, then yeah sure, why not.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/07/26 06:40 PM
0

Prejudice is still active harm though.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/07/26 06:39 PM
0

It’s animal instinct to be violent towards others but that doesn’t make it okay.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/07/26 06:36 PM
4

“It’s just biology” is such a lazy argument. We are autonomous beings with conscious thought and free will. We can reflect on and adjust our preferences given the information that they are harmful.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/07/26 06:30 PM
1

I’m in my 40s
/r/PurplePillDebate02/07/26 06:22 PM

Find someone to vouch for you. It’s called “making an introduction”.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/07/26 05:54 PM

Yeah, I already do stay away from people until they’ve proven themselves safe. It’s really not that much to ask. Trust is earned.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/07/26 05:45 PM

Yeah that would be totally rational, especially if you had previously been stabbed.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/07/26 05:30 PM
2

I really don’t get why you’re arguing with me when I agreed with your post.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/07/26 05:21 PM

If you can’t be bothered do the work to persuade a woman you’re trying to date that you’re trustworthy and safe to be around, then yeah better to stay away.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/07/26 05:21 PM

You don’t understand what coercive control is, eh?
/r/PurplePillDebate02/07/26 05:19 PM

Straight women are in the unique situation of their dating pool also being their main predator. What you’re making is an argument for women to stop dating men.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/07/26 05:18 PM

So you think the law should be changed that victims also get punished?
/r/PurplePillDebate02/07/26 05:17 PM

Thankfully that’s not how the law works.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/07/26 05:14 PM

False. If someone steals your car is it your fault?
/r/PurplePillDebate02/07/26 05:11 PM

Have you heard of victim blaming?
/r/PurplePillDebate02/07/26 05:08 PM

This is on the money. I’d also add that women have legitimate reasons to fear men’s anger, because it’s what gets them killed.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/07/26 04:48 PM
1

Women aren’t the ones being marketed to with the aggressively masculine packaging.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/07/26 04:27 PM
7

I would do everything to be with him You should then. What’s stopping you? I’ll never understand men who express full blown romantic feelings towards their guy friends not just going for it.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/07/26 04:24 PM
1

You can’t blame women for thinking men are toxic when they casually express the opinion that they want to rape women
/r/PurplePillDebate02/07/26 04:13 PM
1

I think it’s extremely commonplace that men struggle to identify their actual sadness and grief and try and blame it on not being high status enough, and they consider one measure of that to be sex with women.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/07/26 04:10 PM
1

There was literally a thread on here earlier (looks like it’s been deleted thankfully) of a man saying if most men could choose one superpower it would be to force women to have sex with them against their will
/r/PurplePillDebate02/07/26 04:08 PM
1

It’s fine to feel sad about it, it’s not fine to blame women for it, or expect women to fix it for you.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/07/26 04:04 PM
1

How is it demonisation when men on this very forum repeatedly prove it to be true?
/r/PurplePillDebate02/07/26 04:02 PM
1

No the whole forum
/r/PurplePillDebate02/07/26 04:00 PM
1

Okay. Not sure what this forum is about then.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/07/26 03:47 PM
1

I don’t support demanding women fix your sadness by having sex with you
/r/PurplePillDebate02/07/26 03:44 PM
1

But you only have to look at the men’s shelf of cosmetics to see how much men need to be reassured that what they’re doing isn’t feminine.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/07/26 03:37 PM
0

But “looksmaxxing” is so easily mockable, compared to just saying you have a skincare regime.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/07/26 03:32 PM
1

I console men every day in my job. You’ve no idea how common it is for men to express shame about feeling sad.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/07/26 03:31 PM
1

Plenty of men do get angry and aggressive instead of crying. Punching their hand through the drywall is absurdly common. There’s also a reason DV rates increase if your country loses the World Cup.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/07/26 02:56 PM
1

Yeah, those things are all legitimate reasons to be sad, and they are all things men get angry and aggressive about because they don’t have a healthy relationship with sadness.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/07/26 02:51 PM
1

There’s lots of reasons to be sad. Having a healthy relationship with sadness is being able to talk about it openly and seek support from your friends or health professionals, allowing yourself to feel it and not blaming others for it.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/07/26 02:43 PM
1

Because that’s not a healthy relationship with sadness, it’s placing the onus on others to fix it for you.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/07/26 02:40 PM
1

I’m not saying women never do it. But there was a time I was getting it every single day and it was always from a man.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/07/26 02:36 PM
1

Because it’s looking for something external to fix something internal, which never works. Real emotions such as sadness, grief, tenderness, etc. All the things young boys get bullied for and told they shouldn’t be so sensitive, and so learn to suppress in themselves.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/07/26 02:33 PM
1

No they’ll shout homophobic slurs out of car windows and then drive off.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/07/26 02:30 PM
1

It literally won’t. What did you ask?
/r/PurplePillDebate02/07/26 02:29 PM

Women are much more accepting of gender incongruence on the whole in my experience.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/07/26 02:27 PM

I hate to break this to you, but sex isn’t going to fix your loneliness or insecurities.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/07/26 02:26 PM
1

You know what, when I was a young boy the only people who bullied me for being too sensitive, too emotional, too expressive, too flamboyant were men.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/07/26 02:24 PM
3

Well you seem to be having a conversation with someone who is not here.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/07/26 02:22 PM

But it’s true all the men ever talk about on here is how they’re not getting any sex. Thats not opening up about feelings.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/07/26 02:21 PM

Since when does “loneliness, insecurities, confidence issues” have anything to do with sex?
/r/PurplePillDebate02/07/26 02:13 PM

No I didn’t, this is what toxic masculinity does, and I was saying it was harmful.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/07/26 02:05 PM

I hope this is irony
/r/PurplePillDebate02/07/26 01:57 PM

That’s not true, it can still be cruel, you can still be ostracised
/r/PurplePillDebate02/07/26 01:45 PM

That wasn’t clear from your first post.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/07/26 01:29 PM
3

And what are the stats for men?
/r/PurplePillDebate02/07/26 01:19 PM
1

If you’re dating them. Plenty of women see men asking about their sexual history as a red flag.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/07/26 01:18 PM
2

As is men telling other men how to be “real men”. There is no such thing as “real men”.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/07/26 01:11 PM
2

Or maybe they just don’t want to *be* shamed for it
/r/PurplePillDebate02/07/26 01:05 PM
2

That starts with men being tolerant of it in themselves
/r/PurplePillDebate02/07/26 01:01 PM
3

I’m literally arguing the opposite, that telling men to dampen their emotions in order to be “real men” is harmful

Men are taught that having sex with women is the only thing that matters, because it gives them status over other men. So many of them are way too out of touch and scared of their real emotions to be open and vulnerable about them.

Any woman who believes that is not worth it
/r/PurplePillDebate02/07/26 11:57 AM

It’s horrible what society does to young boys. A real men’s rights movement would ensure it’s okay for men to cry.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/07/26 11:53 AM

Most men would choose the power to rape women? Yes that’s what feminists have been saying this whole time, rape culture is real and a lot of men begrudge having to ask women for their permission. Really telling on yourselves here.

It was miserable having to pretend to be something I’m not

I was born male (at least on paper) so I can say for sure yes.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/07/26 05:22 PM

Yes they absolutely are. Most men see sex as a competition with other men. It’s about trying to increase their social status. They just see women as objects in that.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/07/26 03:07 PM

So many men do this, and don’t see an issue with it. It’s appalling.

My experience is that less conventionally attractive men are often more misogynistic in how they treat women.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/07/26 02:22 PM
1

Well I’ve heard lots of people confirm this does happen, so I think it is very common. I’ve also had many men send me pictures of them fucking a girl on dating apps without her consent.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/07/26 02:20 PM
1

It’s an appalling consent violation
/r/PurplePillDebate01/07/26 02:03 PM
2

Anecdotal, it’s really widespread. There’s a reason a bunch of countries have had to make laws about revenge porn.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/07/26 02:03 PM
3

Why do you assume it’s only conventionally attractive men who treat women badly? I know plenty of women who’ve “given a chance” to a man who looks like a thumb and he’s treated her just as badly as the other guys. The common denominator is men.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/07/26 02:02 PM

It’s a gender stereotype.

How is it random? If men are doing jaw exercises or getting jaw filler that’s clearly due to insecurity about their jawline not being masculine enough?
/r/PurplePillDebate01/07/26 11:35 AM

It’s really common that men share intimate pictures of their girlfriends and wives with their male friends or even with strangers on the internet. That’s way worse than women warning other women about fuckboys.

All men in the UK seem have this haircut. It basically looks like a flat cap made of hair. They also use it to try and cover up a receding hairline.

Why can’t you have equal childcare in infancy?
/r/PurplePillDebate12/06/26 11:49 AM

So why the dumb question? You’re acting like you can’t care for a baby on your own.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/06/26 11:44 AM

Why would standing over her help? Just take it in turns feeding the baby. What are you going to do the days she is at work and you have to look after the baby?
/r/PurplePillDebate12/06/26 11:37 AM
1

Well I don’t.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/06/26 11:33 AM

Stand over her? What on earth are you on about? I’m beginning to think you’re not all there.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/06/26 11:30 AM

Says who? No it’s men that fear being emasculated.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/06/26 11:27 AM
1

What?
/r/PurplePillDebate12/06/26 11:24 AM
1

Yeah, I was saying it’s not fair if she’s doing all the housework and raising the kids whilst men do nothing at all. Which is what a lot of heterosexual households are like.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/06/26 11:24 AM
1

How is it a “truism”? It’s just a reasonable argument. You’re trying to imply I claimed things I didn’t claim. Fully strawmanning.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/06/26 11:21 AM
1

I never said no relaxing for men. I said it’s unfair if she does all the work whilst men do all the relaxing.Relaxing is fine if work is shared equally. This is like the fifth time I’ve said this now.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/06/26 11:14 AM
2

Oh so you’re literally a baby and have no clue about life or relationships. You’re just assuming.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/06/26 11:08 AM
1

How old are you?
/r/PurplePillDebate12/06/26 11:04 AM
1

The part, where you also said a man HAS TO do something when a woman is doing something. Why can't he relax then? Why he HAS TO do something at the same time? Quote where I said that? My original post was saying why can’t he do an equal share of childcare? You’re saying I’ve made arguments I haven’t. I’ve repeatedly said if the work is shared fifty fifty then so is the rest. Aaaaand derailing again. Add something about men abusing women and we will have a bingo of "i don;t have any more argument…
/r/PurplePillDebate12/06/26 11:03 AM
1

“Old”?
/r/PurplePillDebate12/06/26 10:59 AM
1

Relaxing it’s important for both parties. It becomes a problem when one party doesn’t get an opportunity to relax whilst the other relaxes all the time. I’ve said repeatedly it should be fifty fifty. What part of that do you not understand? Your gender stereotyping about who does what jobs is weird af. Straight people and their gender stereotypes I will never understand it. Me and my partner share all tasks equally.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/06/26 10:58 AM
1

I just see you making a lot of excuses.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/06/26 10:52 AM
1

My first claim that men should do fifty percent of caring for the children? How did it go to trash? If you each work opposite days the other one can care for the kids whilst one is at work. I know plenty of couples who have arrangements like this. But a lot of straight couples seem to split chores by gender stereotypes, and men think because they mow the grass once a year it gets them out of looking after the baby that he helped create.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/06/26 10:49 AM
1

I only see men objecting.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/06/26 10:46 AM
1

How am I derailing? I’m repeating my claim ad nauseam that a fair relationship should be 50-50 and you don’t seem to understand what that means.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/06/26 10:43 AM
1

She probably already does do all of those things. And works on top of it. Whilst men just go to work and come home and “relax” whilst she does the majority of the household chores and raising of the children. You think that’s fair? Why can’t you cut back on your job and care for the kids whilst she goes out to work?
/r/PurplePillDebate12/06/26 10:41 AM
1

Why would she do such a thing? If it meant she didn’t have to derail her career, I think she’s be delighted. But men expect women to forego their career to raise the kids.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/06/26 10:39 AM
1

I’m not contradicting myself in the slightest. A relationship should be equal. Splitting jobs by gender is whack.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/06/26 10:34 AM
1

If they’re already married then she clearly finds him attractive enough. The decision is who gives up work to raise the kids.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/06/26 10:32 AM
1

Why can’t she do 50% of the outside/technical/repair type chores? You’re just gender stereotyping.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/06/26 10:31 AM
1

Who said he can’t relax for a second? If it’s all equitable then relaxing should be 50-50 also. Take it in turns to have a nap whilst the other looks after the baby. Why is it men don’t understand what “equal” means?
/r/PurplePillDebate12/06/26 10:19 AM
1

I don’t see why.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/06/26 10:15 AM
1

It’s all part of the same thing. Get up in the middle of the night to comfort the baby 50% of the time. Change the nappies 50% of the time. Cook dinner 50% of the time. Give her a chance to have a nap whilst you care for the baby and take it in turns. What part of equitable do you not understand?
/r/PurplePillDebate12/06/26 10:15 AM
1

Out of the two of us which is objecting here?
/r/PurplePillDebate12/06/26 10:12 AM
1

I’m not being. Women are overtaking men in the workforce. Makes sense if she’s earning more for him to be a stay at home dad.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/06/26 10:10 AM

Of course it is
/r/PurplePillDebate12/06/26 10:09 AM
1

Lots to do whilst she’s feeding. You could make dinner, clean the toilet, take the dirty nappies out to the bin. And once the child is older you have zero excuse not to look after the child equally.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/06/26 10:08 AM

Overthrowing the patriarchy means overthrowing the idea of the man as the head of the household. Men need to be grateful they are allowed near women at all. They should learn to share and know their place as subservient to women.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/06/26 09:11 AM
