you aren't adopting "masculine traits" because you outearn your husband lol. it's hilarious how this sub complains about the red pill but seems to adopt red pill bullshit too.

Still with the manosphere on this sub? Majority of women prioritize getting married and having kids. If you don't believe this, you are buying into propaganda just as bad as the manosphere.

it’s that outcomes come from both what you do and factors you don’t fully control. Many of the factors you don't fully control impact what you can do. Even something like being born in the US vs. being born in Iraq. The same person can rank very differently depending on the context, which already breaks the idea of a single scale like 1–10. Totally anecdotal and arguing this will boil down to outliers. The digital apparatus we live in is based around algorithms.

the way a lot of Internet people argue a point is through semantics rather than arguing the idea. that's a good portion of the posts on Reddit debate subs.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/04/26 04:27 PM

But in reality, it doesn’t work that way. except it does work that way. It might not be 1-10, it might be 1-5. It might be 0-1. You are ranked by people and algorithms and this determines a lot in your life. People push the idea that life is random because they don't want to admit they lack a lot of control over outcome.

romantically struggling men have a distribution problem, they can't even get to the talking stage with enough women. most of these comments are talking about men not aligning with the specific woman making the comment. for example, a lot of women love splashy dates/gifts or like it when men are flirtatious. taking "advice" about this stuff especially from the Reddit crowd only makes sense if your personality is similar to theirs.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/04/26 04:09 PM

I didn't say it would, but families will get more benefits imo.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/04/26 01:03 PM

Nobody actually cares what you do with your life outside of your family and close friends. I read posts like this all the time and it feels a bit egotistic. We are simply living in an era where having children and living the “traditional life” isn’t attractive to a large chunk of both men and women. The "traditional life" is how most people will be able to buy a house going forward. Unless you make a top 5% income in your area or have rich parents. Usually having a partner means having a kid. So…

And then this begs the question: what do men inherently bring to the table? The answer is nothing. There is nothing that inherently draws women to men. lol is this sub a bunch of asexuals and lesbians now? Never met a straight woman who believes this.

Grievances can be real, but someone's failures to succeed socially does not mean there is a war between genders. more people are going to be single going forward and the world will go on.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/03/26 07:28 AM
2

the gender wars is fueled by people in 3rd world countries farming for engagement and a bunch of 25+ year olds who missed the boat socially. It's largely fake and pushed by people with too much time on their hands. there is no "winning" and "losing" when slop accounts can post about how "women" or "men" are and they live in a 3rd world country totally unlike America. or when someone older who is single talks about how the other gender sucks, it's like someone who failed out of college saying col…

Every single Women in the World can be dated without having Money or Status if u are "that guy" to her. So obviously wrong. Rich people do not date poor people in general even if they find them attractive. Ignore a few exceptions and examples from movies and TV.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/03/26 06:43 AM

it's a popular viewpoint outside of the Internet bubble. I think BP talking points go too far but I'd say it's passed the red pill in terms of relevance. By banning it from a debate sub, you make the sub lose relevance.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/03/26 02:33 AM

this sub is stuck in the mid 2010s. tons of people outside of the Internet bubble talk about the blackpill, looksmaxxing etc. it's weird that this is true but I'm not sure why the mods have made the content on this sub so restricted.

Pics are hard, man. Lots of bad pictures out there. Bad angles. No smiles. Looks really sad. No sense of personality. Fuckboi pics. No face pics at all. Unkempt. pictures amplify less desirable features on your face, that's why people hate them or take silly photos or ones without their face.

Dating is higher stakes and more important to straight women than it is to men. The dating and wedding industries are advertised to them, a big part of straight women social culture is tied to dating, so it's unsurprising they have higher standards.

Idk why old people need to keep changing what young means, a 40 year old is middle aged by life expectancy. "young" is early 20s, 25 at most. if that offends, whatever. people can do what they want, but in due time people are gonna say a 50 year old is young.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/03/26 04:52 PM

I wish. Not close to 40 though.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/03/26 04:45 PM

if it takes your 40s to finally be stable and have confidence and even start to raise kids, you are well behind your peers. at least people on the right track.

Dating and romance are more of a woman thing than a man thing. More specifically, I think it's more geared toward straight women than any other demo. So I agree in a sense, men are the prize, men do not grow up dreaming of having a wedding lmao. People won't agree with this because the Internet sets the culture now and it's filled with complainers. I disagree with the biological clock argument though, technology has enabled women to fairly easily have kids > 30 and > 40.

Do not be a jerk you will alienate people and it'll make it hard for you to make friends. this is some tv sitcom trope, most of the nice guys I know are happily in relationships.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/03/26 07:38 AM

it's not only about the men. a lot of women here are far from the norm or old.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/03/26 05:13 PM

this hypothetical doesn't exist. plenty of people who are not in the "top 5-10%" are getting married. the red pill has broken a lot of you guy's brains. don't use whatever is on this sub as proof, it's filled with a lot of people with weird interests and beliefs.

maybe slightly more. but I go to the gym cus I enjoy it not to get laid. Better ROI is finding a mixed gender social circle.

It lowers the # of women I'm interested in because I'd never date a woman who wasn't seriously active and tbh that's most women. not saying they have to lift but "hiking" or walking 10k steps isn't active.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/03/26 01:22 AM

how am I coping lol. I go to the gym like 5x a week and actually train hard. Most people at the gym barely try or have no clue what they are doing.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/03/26 01:18 AM
6

None of this stuff matters much. it's become performative, even something like the gym. I go to the gym often, most people who even frequent the gym barely workout. so imagine the # of people who don't go to the gym in the first place. the problem is that you lose social circles and the ability to meet women as you get older. plus more women are married or in relationships. that's all it is, giving guys a checklist of things to do is no different than a job posting asking for 10+ yrs experience …

This is happening regardless, the black pill is almost mainstream and that's something I thought would never happen. This sub somehow doesn't understand this. I agree with you, I never thought the blackpill would become so popular. There's now this delusion that people are misremembering their own childhood and acting like blackpill beliefs were very common a decade or decades ago.

Red Pill is a resentment ideology. The resentment changes based on the times and what is relevant but that's all that it is. None of these guys are naturally good with women and if you see the women they are married to, dating, or have been with in the past, they don't seem all that desirable either. There is nothing to be learnt from the Red Pill. They'll say they own the advice of "go to the gym and make money" when that is generic and something a lot of people believe but might not be able to…
/r/PurplePillDebate27/02/26 05:31 PM

You're never going to get an honest answer either way. I'm a single man, I wouldn't say I'm not happy but it's clear there is something missing in my life currently. You say that publicly and you'll get a bunch of people calling you needy. So I think a lot of single people internalize that they are happy to avoid this conversation. Happy people merely live on being happy. Idealistic but far from the truth. Maybe you're young but self-promotion wins. Being a quiet, put your head down person and y…

My point is that people who find relationships to be optional aren't going to like dating or be a good boyfriend. The best relationships are people who grow together. All this virtue signaling doesn't change that. I'm self-aware enough to admit that I've grown a lot on my own and because I find a relationship to be optional, I'd probably not be a good boyfriend at this point. Likewise, I wouldn't want to date someone who is so happy to not be in a relationship.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/02/26 04:08 PM

I've probably "decentered women" and I barely have an interest in the chase anymore. There are some women interested in me but I find being in a relationship to be worse than being single and having freedom. So no, this does not lead to relationships happening lol. The longer you "decenter women" the less likely you will be interested in dating. Also, you'll be out of practice being a boyfriend which is bad. TBH I think there's a lot of delusional thought on the sub, maybe it's virtue signaling …
/r/PurplePillDebate21/02/26 12:51 PM

I largely agree. People take men down a notch through insults like: "incel" "chopped" "small dick" "no bitches". What do these insults have in common? People used to mock men for being broke but now so many people are struggling that it's seen as tacky.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/02/26 05:14 AM

it's not underrated at all, everywhere I read people blabbering about how happy they are single. you will struggle to buy a house in a lot of metros if you're single. plus you eliminate the chance to have a family in a traditional way and you'll lose out on social opportunities as you get older. being single is good if you are willing to live a non-traditional lifestyle. but the truth is most people are not equipped to do this and are deluding themselves into believing they could.

Life isn't risk free. You're saying no to everything so the best solution is to find a guy who is willing to wait until marriage and be celibate until then. Or I guess complain into the void much like the guys who complain about lack of dating do.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/01/26 02:47 PM

Then take on some risk and ask your boyfriend to wear a condom. Life isn't risk free. People these days lack so much agency, no wonder AI is taking over.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/01/26 02:41 PM

You can choose to be celibate then. I think it's jealousy honestly I do not think that is the case. But it reads that way.

Biological privileges don't matter much anymore. Most people are slobs looking for shortcuts to be in shape rather than eating well and being physically active. From a dating perspective, women do have an advantage but tbh it's become ridiculous the amount of power some of these guys assign to women due to the advantage.

Feminists and right-wingers are both after retribution so I can see the connection. I'll never forget reading the comment section on WSJ and NYT talking about young men falling behind, if you replaced "young men" with a group that right wing racists don't like it'd be hard to distinguish. WSJ and NYT aren't progressive outlets either so imagine what radical feminists think about young men. TBH I think the Internet has cooked so many people beyond repair. It breeds envy and feelings of nihilistic…

Life is about phases. In general most people I know want to experience both at the right times. Most people mad about dating didn't experience one, either, or experienced these things at the wrong times of their lives. If you are young, you can change this instead of moaning about it on the Internet. Realize that most complaining about dating are projecting.

Misandry is based on removal of men from spaces. That's because women largely believe they can do without men. If you notice, a lot of racism in general is about the race of men. Misogyny is a bit different from what you described though. It's about giving women a very narrow role within society. I wouldn't say this is based in love but more in duty because misogynists view women as lesser. I don't think there is much real hate anymore tbh. Most vicious Internet content is AI slop, bots, teenage…

I don't think "society" views dating preferences as a big deal, as long as you aren't an asshole about it. the whole concept of having a type is based around dating preferences. dating has turned into an overly intellectualized topic at this point, it's not that deep to most adults because they are coupled.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/01/26 01:12 PM
4

I don't think it's that deep, more like a filter for attending a legitimate university. 2 people making $100k isn't going to be enough to buy a house in most metros and pay for private school and pay for childcare anyway. Also it's a way for annoying strivers to brag about their 9-5 income.

We live in the most unequal economic society since the Gilded Age. Elections in America will be defined by this inequality for the foreseeable future and it of course applies to things outside of finances. I don't know how people can live through the last decade and believe in this idealistic nonsense.

Much more efficient and practical to make everything strictly transactional. No but it's better to have a bunch of acquaintances in life over a few close friends. Obviously a balance of both is good but with limited time it's better to prioritize getting a big friend group.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/01/26 12:42 PM
7

Who cares. So worst case you burn a friendship because she says no and it's too weird for you both, neutral case it's awkward for a bit but you still talk to her once in a while. People overvalue friendships so much these days man. It's cringe.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/01/26 12:22 PM

yes but it's irrelevant anyway. even if you give a woman your number, she's not going to steer the convo in all likelihood.
/r/PurplePillDebate31/12/25 08:37 PM

Have you ever tried giving a woman your number? yes, how do you think I came to the conclusion that this is a skill most of us need to develop.
/r/PurplePillDebate31/12/25 08:32 PM
34

Most women are passive, they expect men to reach out to them and initiate conversation. Some guy in this thread will go on and brag about how he rarely has to initiate but most of us have to. It's a skill you need to develop. when I say initiate I don't mean saying "hi" either. I mean steering the conversation, setting up the date, etc.
/r/PurplePillDebate31/12/25 08:15 PM

Singleness should be shamed and psycho-analyzed. Especially in women. It's already happening behind closed doors, I know that as a currently single man. It doesn't bother me, go ahead. But if you judge people and you're deficient in something, don't expect grace. It's why I don't judge people because most people are a bad month or 2 away from being at their lowest point.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/12/25 01:26 AM

In 99% of cases, it's delusion. If you are happy being alone, then you aren't "normal" at all. Honestly though, what is the point in bursting people's bubble? If believing this delusion keeps them sane, then I'll nod along even though I know it's a lie. Delusions are needed to keep society going.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/12/25 10:42 PM

do you believe there are certain baggages someone carries that make them incapable of having a fulfilling relationship or that society should never forgive? I’m curious to hear people’s thoughts. I‘m speaking broadly here, not just about this particular video, it’s just one example I found that prompted this question. You are judged by how far you deviate far from "normal", so yes your pool of dating and friends will be smaller if deviate extremely far. tbh I get it.

agreed. for some reason tho reddit has a ton of former or current sex workers, especially this sub. these guys need to be set up by their friends with another woman who is a shut in instead of trying to be something they are not.

The bar for everything has risen too much for most people. Take romance out of it, the bar for buying a house, getting a good job, forming a community, etc. It isn't sustainable how things are going and the fear I have is it will get worse after the AI bubble pops.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/12/25 08:54 AM

The future involves a collapse of the birth rate curve, a lot of people being shut out of past financially successful paths, and a rise in addictive behaviors from both genders. The coming financial collapse will exacerbate these problems rather than improve upon them too. People talking about male uprisings are delusional, most guys will spend their last few dollars gambling on Kalshi or sports betting. China's "lying flat" movement coming here is way more likely.

maybe the Twitter location reveal was truly representative and most of the red pill-related Internet traffic is from people outside of America. Because if you live here, there is no scenario outside of having 1% net worth in your 20s or 30s to doing this. I'd argue that even if you are in a quickly developing country it'd be stupid because your COL is only going to rise and you'll need multiple incomes.

So patriarchy expects women to give her time, her unpaid labor and what not. Women discuss things like household labor inequality etc. Men are stressed or tired, and may not feel like being the sole breadwinner or paying for dates or being expected to be manly or strong 24/7. you know that single people do all of this themselves right? imo people in couples who complain about these things suck at communication or have been pretty sheltered.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/12/25 05:29 AM

I think it also builds general social confidence, which to me is the hardest thing to build for a young man. IMO it's less about sex and more about building that, I didn't even think about sex when I was 13.

red pill concepts like this will be dead soon. we are in a time of mass wealth inequality, growing layoffs, and massive personal debt. if people want to achieve the economic milestones of their parents, they will either need to be a high earner (top 1-5% income), accept they can't do it, or pair up with someone to make it happen.

It depends on what feeds and threads you see but in general, strangers do not care about other strangers. I see tons of low empathy, mean-spirited comments on posts with women talking about dating, the same can be said about men talking about their struggles with dating too. If you mean IRL, women to me are better at discussing their problems compared to men. Men bottle things up forever and become vulnerable after going through years of unhappiness. Reaching your natty limit for bench / squat / deadlift, which should be something like 4 plates / 6 plates / 6 plates for most people. If you hop on gear, you just push your numbers as high as you can. lol ridiculous. That's a 450 Wilks score for someone who is 200 lbs. Probably still 400+ if they are 250 and most people don't carry 250 lbs well unless they are tall.

where are you from? In America, it's not as expected to talk as a man to other women how much dating sucks. Nobody wants to set up a guy with negative opinions on dating. Most of my friends don't have significant problems with dating, maybe it's not perfect but they can find someone. We're all bombarded with men who say they have no luck in dating, how it's hard etc. Are you really? Or are you saying you read a bunch of stuff online and say that you're "bombarded" by it. Because at least in my experience, the guys who are struggling with dating don't talk much about it. Especially to women. A lot of guys don't limit much when they are younger but do as they get older, which makes sense.

prime isn't real, you aren't an athlete. strength athletes peak in their mid-late 30s. marathon runners peak in their late 20s-early 30s. the difference here is people date around their age and as you get older there are fewer single women as you get older. also many people age poorly because they barely take care of their bodies.

this concept may be real in high school or college but after that it isn't. people matching is an inefficient market that is dependent on trust and proximity. everything in life isn't an efficient market.

Most women post 25 are in relationships. These women who complain about not being approached or being chronically single are no different from the i-words they complain about. and also a lot of these women need to be a little more introspective about why guys aren't approaching them. I don't even make an effort to make friends at the gym and I've made friends there.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/10/25 01:54 PM

yeah I agree, a lot of unsuccessful people try to moralize their lack of success by portraying themselves as good and the successful as bad. plus successful people do not hang out much with unsuccessful people to begin with. I think that's why you get such divergent experiences because a successful person cannot fathom the lack of success that some people face.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/09/25 10:46 AM

you are more likely to be judged for not being in a relationship for a while than how many people you've slept with.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/09/25 06:12 AM

needing a movement to justify to others that you are "doing your own thing" instead of just doing it normally is a defense mechanism.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/09/25 01:11 PM

MGTOW / 4B are defense mechanisms for people who were left behind socially. I don't think there's anything wrong with defense mechanisms as long as you aren't lashing out at others but advocating these ideologies to teenagers who have their lives ahead of them and can have normal family lives is wrong. Just because you "went your own way" doesn't mean others should prematurely do so.

I don't think it's even that risky for men. you have no clue what you're talking about.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/09/25 06:52 AM

because these aren't the same groups of people. Red Pill is an online ideology that peaked 3 years ago. Guys like Andrew Tate probably have negative approval at this point. meanwhile young men (the people who are mostly dating) are broke or don't have a ton of spending money due to COL rises and inflation. so naturally they'd rather split the cost of dates.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/09/25 06:51 AM

I have no idea, I don't train for aesthetics. If you're interested in that, you have to plan your training and diet and maybe even fashion for that goal. athletic build with 12-15% body fat when people say this, they usually mean: "do my abs pop out" rather than anything related to doing legs (which is what most athletes do).
/r/PurplePillDebate08/09/25 11:49 AM

Like Farhat's 18-month "natural" transformation thanks to "polymorphism". I looked up this dude and his physique is way better than decent. If that is what you view as "decent" your mind is warped by social media.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/09/25 07:55 AM
4

You need at least 3-5 years to build a decent physique. This is what I mean, it does not take you 3-5 years to build a decent physique. Way shorter timeframe with the right training.

We all have access to basically all of humanity's knowledge for free. getting all of the information isn't hard but filtering and determining what is useful is. There are only so many hours in a day so you need to figure out an efficient way of consuming only the information that is relevant to your situation.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/09/25 06:32 AM
2

It isn't practical. Tons of people go to the gym, go to trainers at the gym, and don't get the results they want. There is massive information asymmetry in the world. Bridging that gap when you are young is how you succeed.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/09/25 06:10 AM
13

99% of advice isn't actionable. People tell you to "study X subject" but they don't tell you how to study it. People tell you to "go to the gym" but don't tell you what training splits/diet etc. Blaming women for this is stupid and counterproductive, I've gotten a lot of dumb advice from men (probably more). Instead surround yourself with men and women who DO give you good advice. Wisdom of the crowd is for idiots.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/09/25 04:34 AM
1

Most things in life aren't insurmountable, but some people need to put in more work or need to work smarter to achieve the same results as others. I don't think it's a problem to say that "it's not worth it for me to pursue this further because I want to spend my time differently" but calling something insurmountable is limiting unless the goal is very rare to achieve.

you have the right thinking in the sense that you as a man can always do better. People online though have the mentality of contrarians who will parse the exact wording to not understand the general idea of what you're saying, so they'll discredit everything said here. Maybe you won't be in "excellent" shape but you can be in better shape. Maybe you won't be the life of the party but you can find people who are similar to you and you vibe with. There's a strange combination of excuses and delusi…
/r/PurplePillDebate02/09/25 10:12 PM

/r/PurplePillDebate02/09/25 06:47 PM

build up these skills genuinely asking, what are "these skills"? I think personality is set in stone after you're a teenager so to me if you're largely introverted you should be trying to get set up with another introvert.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/09/25 06:33 PM

picking up social skills some people are gregarious and like doing stuff outside, and others aren't and prefer doing introverted/digital activities. the population in the latter is growing and will continue to grow. my point is a mildly autistic person might actually fit this largely digital person's lifestyle better. many people online especially lament social interaction and yet want someone who is social.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/09/25 06:21 PM

Not autistic but I kinda agree. A lot of people talk so much about "social skills" but more people than ever are introverts who barely go out. What is the benefit having "social skills" if you aren't social? it's like all the people online who complain about booze being down when nothing is stopping you from going out with friends and having drinks.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/09/25 05:32 PM

no, they find it low class and pathetic. women you'd want to date aren't jealous of guys who go to a 3rd world country to find a wife, this is all made up in your head. especially younger women.

well I'm not bipolar lol. I went to therapy because I was in a bit of a rut at school and burnt out. Normal teenage stuff but I could've been ruined if I hopped on ADHD drugs that would've kept me up all night.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/08/25 09:37 AM

ADHD-related drugs, I don't remember the names. I tried using them for a few weeks but I couldn't sleep at night. Maybe I was and am a bit overactive but I've found that I can focus if I'm interested in the work I'm doing. Taking drugs that ruin your sleep are never worth it.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/08/25 05:45 AM

All I got as a teenager was an IQ test and a dismissive old guy who talked shit about me to my parents. My parents saw through it thankfully. He didn't diagnose me with any mental illness because I don't have anything. Pushed hard for me to get on drugs which I didn't *want to take.

no need to lift weights, better to do calisthenics if all you care about is aesthetics. skincare to me is useless but I've never had to deal with acne. hobbies are dumb unless you enjoy them. best advice is to make friends with a couple of social single guys. the rest will sort itself out after that.

nah a Reddit opinion is complaining about America as a non-American. as I said, if fewer non-Americans weighed in on American politics behind sock puppet accounts on Twitter/Reddit/other social media, it'd be a net positive for the country. so maybe age verification checks should be expanded. so many alt right posters have been outed as non-American.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/08/25 06:13 AM

"age verification" checks are step 1 of exactly that lol. Honestly the Internet is filled with too many non-Americans weighing in on America these days so maybe it'll improve content.

posts like this are similar to the men who believe in MGTOW. I think a lot of people have been broken by modern society and seek to validate their own state of being through believing stuff like this. I don't believe in any of these pills explicitly. But a lot of the talking points online are popular now IRL. "looksmaxxing," "Take the {x}-pill," "80/20 rule", and general complaints about dating / dating apps. These takes are not necessarily accurate, but I believe IRL conversations will begin to mirror online discourse more closely as people spend more time in front of screens. people who say they don't hear similar stuff IRL are old as fuck, from a foreign country, or not social.

Tons of people out there are in relationships with partners they are not (really) attracted to because of comfort, (financial) security, tradition, emotional support, utility etc. yeah, this is obvious to me yet current married people believe they have reinvented thousands of years of humanity where marriages were unions between families.

guys who say things like this usually aren't in the West. Big issue with the Internet now, you get people from conservative countries saying this is how "men" and "women" are and confusing young people with little to no experience. either that or they are basing their life on ragebait they read online.

A lot of *not "being a loser" is portraying yourself as someone who is impressive. I find it stupid but people are driven a lot by stories even if they are exaggerated. depends on how old you are but dating apps and meeting friends of friends is the way to go. if you're still in college, then you have more opportunities to be social. ignore advice related to using Meetup or going to random events. also never do this shit alone, go with a friend or a small group of friends. if your friends aren't social, then find ones who are social.

That forecast exists because people delay having kids now, so the % is heavily weighted toward younger people. but eventually people have kids and get married. I'm not shaming you, I don't care whether you or anyone is single and not having kids. the vast majority of the women I know are either married, in a relationship, engaged, or actively dating. these posts feel like roundabout ways of getting others to validate your choice of giving up on dating. that's fine, but this isn't normal and becomes increasingly more abnormal as you get older.

I can't fully disagree, I took a break from dating then when I restarted I get asked strange, terminally online questions from normal people. Red pill, obsessions with height, all of these strange, niche opinions end up becoming more mainstream through algorithm amplification. Even something like "maxxing" I hear everywhere. It's scary, I can't think of a time when the Internet had so much power over people's opinions.

You're not wrong but the problem is being accomplished has become harder. People in the comments and online will complain about the standards but you have only two options: become as competitive as possible or quit. Occam’s razor would say they’re scoring you based on how people swipe on you. Occam's razor tells me they take both into consideration but we'll never know. It makes sense to me that you are penalized when someone doesn't swipe right on you when you swipe right on them. Swiping right a lot more might not explicitly cause your ELO score to tank but it could lead to more opportunities where you get swiped left and dropping your score.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/06/25 01:17 AM

This is something people on Reddit say, but I’ve never seen anyone produce evidence of it. It feels more like an urban legend. We can only speculate, but ELO could be partially based on how many mutual right swipes you get. Also if someone high on the ELO algorithm swipes right on you, I assume you'll see a bigger boost vs. someone low on the ELO algorithm. So I can see the logic that your ELO is lower if you swipe right 1000 times and only get a mutual swipe right 10 times out of that 1000 and …

Eh I'm not terminally online but I'll let that go. You can use makeup if you want and you can use AI to digitally enhance your photos. What is stopping you (and other men) is social shame. It feels like the internet is addicted to putting people in categories, and it’s pulling us further apart. I’m starting to think we’re stuck in a loop of “us vs. them” in every direction. You are put in categories from your youth without knowing it. This wasn't created by the Internet. What people don't like about "generalizations" is when they are negative and imply that you aren't good enough. Unfortunately pretty hard to deal with this without insulating yourself heavily.

Also if you're trying to mimic Zuck's physique all you have to do is calisthenics, some cardio, and obviously eat right. Lets dead this idea that being "higher income" somehow negates the ability to resistance train. And the gym is not overrated, it…
/r/PurplePillDebate09/06/25 04:02 PM

The gym is a bit overrated if your goal is to get girls, doing some calisthenics and joining a run club is better than compound lifts from an efficiency standpoint. I prefer traditional strength training myself fwiw. I'm "higher income" though, I rarely meet people who consistently go to the gym. More likely to do cardio.

Biologically girls mature faster than boys. For other aspects, maturity is defined by passing societal indicators at the age-appropriate time. A "mature man" in society is one who has a stable job, follows the law, has a family, and maybe owns a house. Even that last standard is being written out because of housing inflation. The point is that it's not defined by anything philosophical but popular culture. I don't know if women have these same standards or if they are different. But even a 40 ye…

Which is true. They dont. Most women I know are in a relationship, engaged, or married lol. So clearly they prioritize men in their lives. Takes like this are no different from the c-word that men in their 30s and 40s will date 20 year old women.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/06/25 04:12 PM

It's not about what people find attractive. Even most celebrities/rock stars/athletes date within an age range and they have the means to date whoever they want. Whether it's finding commonalities or social shame or whatever the reason, it's not common.

it's not that many men, t's terminally online people looking to create a revenge fantasy. none of this is normal in a Western country outside of celebrities.

Cold approach isn't efficient but also there isn't much risk as long as you're groomed and relatively charming. To me it's something talk about more than do, most guys don't have the courage to begin with.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/06/25 11:31 PM

For some reason the older guys I meet at the gym are terrified of going to near failure and don't train hard enough to be in good shape. You're probably the exception.

When you were in college you were in close proximity to hundreds if not thousands of women who you knew were single. There is no environment that is better than that from a dating perspective for an average guy. Most 35 year old guys aren't going to be in the social circle of 25 year olds. The guys I saw do that were leading with money and basically doing sugar arrangements that didn't even involve sex lol. Some probably did fuck/date but I can't think of many long-term relationships in my life …

I don't understand how people keep saying it's easier. There are fewer single people each passing year you get older. Plus each passing year people care more about your financial situation.

feeding into people's despair is evil to me. I'd never tell someone (even a stranger) that they should give up. This feeds into determinism and that our situations are unchangeable, when they often can be. Sometimes people work hard on the wrong things and in the wrong environment, doesn't mean they will never succeed and are perpetual failures. I recognize your username, you've posted a variation of this thread a bunch of times before. Ask yourself why you get off to posting stuff like this.

no one is going to admit this, but a lot of this has to do with aesthetics: grooming, posture, and your literal face.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/06/25 04:01 PM

American society is centered around having a family. I don't think it's a problem being single, I enjoy it too, but you are living in a suboptimal way by doing so. I also think that most people would benefit from having a family vs. being alone. but do what you want. I think single people spend a lot more time trying to rationalize their choices vs. married people tbh.

maybe gold digging is largely a myth, but the "appropriate" income is going to be more than the average person at your socioeconomic/educational background. making $200k-$300k is seen as only OK among the people I know. the same logic probably extends to a high school dropout trying to date another high school dropout, he probably needs to make more than whatever the average is in the area he lives in at a minimum. I think you can start to make less once you've locked the person down but while d…

I think a lot of you guys need to be honest with yourselves. You're not solving anything making threads online or even complaining about a "societal problem" on social media. You're yelling into a void. This is a problem throughout society and I blame the Internet for it. People distract themselves believing they are doing something when they aren't doing anything.

Men or women who regard others as a means to an end are sociopaths If you work closely with someone, then you need to see if your personalities mesh. Only way to know that is to spend a lot of time and get to know them really, really well. None of this is sociopathic, I work in tech tons of cofounder relationships die because people's personalities and core values don't align for example. Same idea for your wife, you should really see if you mesh with her personality. Outside of that, it's bette…

Sure I'm more saying that I think genuine friendship is overrated as you get older. I think better to find a bunch of people you share general common interests with rather than get to know a handful of people super well. There are exceptions (if you're working with the person) and I assume many will disagree with what I'm saying.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/05/25 02:01 PM

tbh I used to think a bit like you, that you need these close bonds with friends. but I think it can be a net-negative unless these people are integral to your short and long-term successes. I've moved to thinking it's better to have a bunch of acquaintances.

There are less opportunities to do that post college. No you can’t just decide to form a big social circle and have it happen. You are discounting a lot of barriers. that has always been the case, it's not new. the real issue here is the delay of life events not the social circle thing. if you haven't found someone at ~25, it's going to be hard in any generation. problem is now more people are single at that age.

the income standard being "6 figures" is a way for yuppies to indirectly brag about their status. yuppie salaries usually top out at mid 6 figures and most don't even get there. someone who makes $100k-$150k in an expensive city is probably worse off than another person who makes $80k in a cheaper place. plus obviously $150k lifestyle is very different from $500k lifestyle. if you lead with income/assets, the standard is probably worse than you think. you need to make more or be richer than the …

I don't know what can be done at this point in terms of regulations that are realistic. All I'm saying is a Rubicon has been crossed and life is going to be different going forward. A lot of parents won't be saying "live and let live" when their kids are addicted to AI bots and they are priced out of a lot of IRL experiences that used to be cheaper. AI bots have the potential to be way more addictive than social media.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/05/25 07:48 AM
1

Why do we need to decide their course of action in life? We aren't even using tax dollars on AI gfs and they are paying for themselves, not hurting anybody else. well you and others will say this until it makes your life sterile. the inevitable conclusion of immersive AI is every IRL experience will become more expensive meaning most people will default to using AI experiences because it will be cheaper and subsidized by big tech companies, who can burn billions in R&D and still make a profit.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/05/25 07:37 AM
7

I'm sorry but this is an inevitability for a lot of men and women. The scale is hard to define but millions already treat ChatGPT or other LLM clients like a friend or therapist now and the technology isn't even great yet. It might seem crazy and I think it's crazy too but it will only become more mainstream. Fact is that every tech giant is invested in making these LLM clients as immersive as possible.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/05/25 07:28 AM
6

Why do we require people to first demonstrate they are capable of something that is bad, before we allow them to have an opinion on what the right course of action is? because the average online person crafts a hypothetical alternative reality instead of talking about their own experiences IRL. it's why ChatGPT has become the personal therapist for so many.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/05/25 02:29 PM

yet despite normalization now so many people go to the gym every day and still remain subpar or fat both statements can be true. more people go to the gym, leading to a top end of people who are in better shape. while there are also more people who are fat, some of whom go to the gym and most don't. you can see it not just in the faces but just everything in the media and culture convinced this has to do with hydration
/r/PurplePillDebate22/05/25 06:22 PM

you don't need resources or tech to be in good shape lol. I'm not even talking about elite athletes, all you need is a gym membership and the ability to do cardio inside or outside. doesn't change the overall cultural zeitgeist the young have embraced now vs then the boomer cultural zeitgeist in their youth was doing enormous amounts of drugs.

There's always going to be lucky people who have the right circumstances to live the dream, but the rest of us do actually have to ensure that we don't make mistakes and fall through the cracks. We don't get do-overs or charity. Yes. Also, a lot of successful people mislead by pretending they do things on a whim when this isn't the case.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/05/25 11:16 PM

But thinking strategically about what's important to you in a society where what you want is increasingly scarce is just common sense. If you live in America, you need to plan out your life from a much younger age than before. A lot of folks don't realize the damage that can be done just going with the flow until they are old.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/05/25 10:56 PM

Successful people are strategic. Losers call it "autism" because they think they can go with the flow and be successful when they aren't. The vast majority of the people I know who are actually successful have planned a lot of their life out. Not saying you need to view everything through a logical lens but people for example plan out when they are going to move in, when they want to have kids, when they want to get married.

you guys love using words like "red flag" or "insecurity" when it's a man looking for someone with similar life experiences. again, I know plenty of women who aren't interested in guys who have dated around or are known to be players. likewise people who have dated around aren't looking to date people who have barely dated.

Well-adjusted people have families and support systems. As you get older your friends are going to be more interested in raising their families over hanging with you. My "advice" is for people to try as many things as they can to be social. Better than accepting their situation like a lot of people online do nowadays. If you can't be social, at least work a job that is time consuming and involves social interactions.

It's not hopeful at all. If self-improvement leads to people meeting others and engaging in the human experience, then they should do it. Engaging in hobbies once a week or whenever people have time off work isn't going to cut it. Advocating people to "go their own way" is leading people down a path of mental illness.

The problem is that vast majority of even rich people make their money when they are on the older side. You have to be rich, young, and have some "status" associated with your work if you are going to lead purely with finances and career. But you can't also be a bum. So while there are some diminishing returns, it does matter a bit and having a good livelihood gets your foot in the door. Which to me is a good thing, you want someone to like you for more than your money.

Most young people aren't overweight, simply being skinny doesn't mean you are 7.5 lol. also are you talking to these stranger beautiful people on Friday and Saturday nights about something specific and personal like this? anyway whatever we're getting into semantics at this point so we'll go in circles.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/04/25 03:07 AM

this is what I mean, you know a ton of women who are a 7.5? unless you work in a fashion industry or Hollywood, the odds of this being the case are low. or maybe you are talking about social media, which tbh I don't really put a lot of value in.

This entire situation reads like a romcom, when the average guys I know aren't trying to date stunners and often don't. Super attractive women tell you what your league is in high school or at the latest college and most average guys don't pursue them. TBH this feels like a post to paint guys as something they aren't lol. The problem is everyone thinks they are a 7 or 7.5 in every aspect of their life, skewing this entire conversation.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/04/25 02:54 AM

looks can be deceiving for anything leg related, but his upper body looked very underdeveloped. I think a lot of people who don't lift get obsessive about abs when that's mostly a diet thing rather than a lifting thing. Idc about having a 6 pack myself because I like eating and don't want to cut as I try to get stronger. If you want the crazy definition (<10%) you need to commit to eating very cleanly or use PEDs.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/04/25 02:37 AM

he isn't built nor does he have "lots of muscle." I assume his body fat in the 1st photo is 20-25% too. if a person needs 5x a week to look like that, they need to rethink their diet and training big time.

no way the guy on the left can bench 255-270 (say he's between 170-180). Squat 2x I doubt as well, deadlift 2x sure. Bench 1x your BW, squat 1.5x your BW are achievable extremely quickly (<6 months). Don't even need a great fitness base.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/04/25 06:47 PM
1

That’s like a 5x a week in the gym physique imo. not at all. 5x a week of focused training and proper diet you should look pretty big. guy on the left probably fucks around at the gym and does random exercises with no plan.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/04/25 06:42 PM
1

I can guarantee you it takes YEARS of gym for a normal man to get the muscles he has in the right pic No it doesn't. This sort of misinformation keeps people out of the gym lol. A lot of people conflate being shredded with being strong. They are in many ways opposing goals but it does not take a long time to be as strong or muscular as the guy on the right.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/04/25 05:46 PM
-1

any guy who isn't fat can attain the physique on the left within months and can maintain it by doing something athletic once a week. tbh I don't even think you need to go to the gym to look like the guy on the left. calling that "working out" is a stretch but I guess the bar really is that low.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/04/25 05:32 PM
3

the left is seen as safer because the right triggers some insecurity in terms of future diet and working out habits. People LARP online that they eat clean and work out a ton but they don't. A guy walking around <10% means dietary restrictions and a super health conscious lifestyle and/or PEDs. The ideal isn't the right but it's closer to the right than the left. Probably somewhere between 10-15% body fat.

any Sociology PhD at a solid program needed to score pretty well on the GRE. If you do any ML/AI adjacent research (many non-STEM PhDs are at this point) you have a good understanding of Linear Algebra. Again my point is both groups of people are at extremes, a Math/CS autist is just at a further extreme.

you're just bragging at this point dude. Pattern matching and memory are major parts of IQ tests. there is no such thing as a "perfect IQ test" in the first place. Having taken IQ tests, standardized tests, and working in a field where interviews are pretty much IQ tests, it can all be studied for but there are limits on how well you can do too.

this is a rationalization for the current world we live in that is obsessed with genetic traits. I'm a very cynical person and even was growing up but the way things have spiraled is beyond what I thought would happen. You can call it obvious, but it really isn't obvious. bar is higher but also there is a selection bias among the people complaining online. it's like how people complain about the job market being bad when we're at peak employment. even in white collar fields where apparently we have a tough job market, basically everyone I know has a job.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/04/25 11:28 AM

It is devastating no linger to be able to do a thing that you did in your youth when you are older. Most people are glued to their devices nowadays anyway and live longer because of better drugs. If you mean working out to have a better QOL when you're older, you don't need to do much.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/04/25 06:29 AM

/r/PurplePillDebate21/04/25 05:34 AM

you should workout because you enjoy it. working out to be "conventionally attractive" isn't worth it because the bar is stupidly high. if you want the conventional attractive look you need to control your diet significantly, work out a ton, and at that point you'll be incompatible with most people's lifestyles.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/04/25 04:37 AM

most people look good enough to date. you're baiting people on this thread at this point. the pills are negative reinforcing and not good for people mentally.

no those pills are like religion, people believe in them because they want an explanation for how their life is.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/04/25 09:37 AM

Most men don't need "feedback" on how they look. You know how attractive you are by the time you finish high school and at the latest college. Don't count parents or grandparents calling you handsome.

because for the majority of people (not childfree Reddit), a major aspect of being in a relationship is getting married and having kids. plus older women will have higher financial standards than younger women. I assume a lot of the red pill guys have kids or want to have kids eventually, even Andrew Tate does.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/04/25 11:24 AM

the way you fix "distractible" kids is you either give them less work and hope they are self-motivated to learn or drown them in work and force them to meet more deadlines. The former will create a few, incredible kids and a lot of kids who give up. While the latter creates a lot of uncreative worker drones.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/04/25 11:23 PM

There are tons of other ways to meet people where men are more at an advantage such as hobby groups, community events, singles events, and run clubs. Sounds like a bunch of ways to meet either nerds or old people. Dating apps allow you to meet people your own age outside of your friend group.

Modern culture went too far with "everyone is amazing" and now things have become too deterministic, especially looks or intellect, in response. Things used to be more subjective IMO. For example, there's greater obsession with IQ or SAT score in terms of intellect, when these aren't the end all metrics for how smart someone is. Same with height or "face card." But I agree we all know who is considered attractive when we're in high school.

Once you get above the age of 20 without any or much experience, it makes sense that women won't be interested in you. this is obvious to anyone who isn't isolated and lives in a Western country. problem is the Internet is filled with a lot of people who are isolated and live in countries with vastly different cultures from places like Europe/America. How do you solve this discrepancy in experience? Men should try their best to get with younger women. Unless you are talking 2-3 years difference …

Basically every woman I know is: actively dating, in a relationship, engaged, or married. So no, they are not single for long periods of time and want to be in relationships. A lot of you guys need to actually go your own way and stop trying to convince others to join your ideology. This is getting to a point on this sub where it feels like cult recruitment and I feel like for all the talk of decentering relationships you are on a sub that discusses relationships a lot.

I don’t think men understand how liberating it is to say “I’m not dating at the moment, I’m working on myself right now.” It's a procrastination mindset, a lot of people don't even understand how to improve their situation. Plus you can improve yourself while also trying to date people. I believe in trying to do a lot of things at once though and I think it's important to have a specific goal in mind when trying to achieve something even if it's abstract.

Prioritising something doesn’t mean building your entire identity around it. That’s the line I’m drawing. Again, exaggerated extreme. My point is men SHOULD prioritize trying to be in a relationship if that is what they desire. I'd argue they should have some urgency as well, starting from when they are in college. All of this would lead to the goal being top of mind. Hiding behind "nuance" is dodging the essence of what your point is and what it implies men should do. Anyway I'm not going to ar…

Wanting a relationship is fine. Prioritising one at certain points in life is fine. Prioritization involves centering your life around achieving something as I said. But needing one to feel validated, complete, or masculine? That’s where it becomes unhealthy and that’s the state a lot of men are stuck in without realising it. The goal isn't to live without connection it's to stop clinging to it like a life raft. Exactly as I said, your points only make sense if you take it to an exaggerated poin…

If you want something in life you need to prioritize it, de-centering something means you are not prioritizing it. Your point only makes sense if you take it to an exaggerated conclusion ("from their identity essentially advising men to stop viewing women as the ultimate prize, or making romantic success the sole marker of male worth"), in reality anything you're trying to achieve will require priority in the short and medium term. Forming a family is a major part of the human experience, it's o…

That’s not virtue signaling—it’s a mindset shift. No one’s saying ‘don’t date ever.’ The point is to stop treating relationships as the centrepiece of your life or self-worth. To the average person it is an important part of their life. You are cutting off your social life by not pursuing something hard that most of your peers will pursue. A lot of people don't change passively, they need a call to action to get better. Like you said focus on your career, build something fulfilling, live with pu…

If you don't like doing those hobbies, forcing yourself to do them is not going to help. My point is that a lot of people do hobbies to meet people not because they enjoy, like, or are any good at the activity. The meeting part is what brings people to do these things and as long as they can meet enough people in the process they'll keep showing up. If we asked the average person what they truly liked doing it'd be watching Netflix/watching sports/scrolling social media.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/03/25 12:31 PM

There aren't a ton of mixed gender hobbies that are popular enough (meet enough people) and involve consistent in-person meetings, so it isn't that subjective. Those are the types of hobbies that people who are interested in meeting people should do and I think a lot of people do these things to meet people instead of trying to enjoy the activity itself. Not how I'd spend my time personally, I like doing stuff because I'm trying to get better at it.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/03/25 12:16 PM

The thing about hobbies is that you have to actually like the hobbies. If you force yourself to do a hobby to attract a woman, you will be miserable and push away any woman. Hobbies, at least the ones that are respected, are a way of seeming well-rounded or interesting for most people rather than getting good at something. So in that context I understand why people use hobbies to meet others. Not why I do the things I do but pretty common in my experience. There's so many people I know tangentia…

"average" is within 1 standard deviation of people with your socioeconomic background in your country. It's really that simple. People make it "average" on aggregate because many view themselves as future rich people (where this 6 figure requirement gets repeated when not many dating age people make 6 figures) and also don't like to view themselves as below average.

People care about mens issues, mental health, suicide rates and help for fathers. Not really though. I think a lot of people care about "men" in the context of self-interest (society collapsing, tax receipts going down, less kids, etc.). /r/PurplePillDebate15/03/25 05:12 PM

We’d never get a response to a world war like we did a century ago. That’s all the proof you need. No, your point was that people were serving in WW2 out of chivalry. I corrected you that the majority of them were forced to fight through the draft and many of the ones who volunteered didn't have a lot of great economic options either. If that counts as chivalry then I don't understand your point at all.

there is no matriarchy. Look at who runs America, it's mostly 50+ year old men. the commonality of modern loneliness between men and women is being single. a lot of women virtue signal about how friendships can replace this but lacking a family past a certain age will shut you out of social settings. men nowadays are more honest about it even though ironically being a single man is seen as more of a loser marker than being a single woman.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/02/25 05:39 AM

/r/PurplePillDebate24/02/25 11:59 PM

it's not a stupid argument. most people are "millionaires" based on illiquid assets including something like real estate. It's not as if I'm cash broke and have $1m in startup options, just saying that a portion of my net worth is in that. Net worth in general is stupid but that's what many people mean when they say they are millionaires.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/02/25 11:48 PM

prob not many liquid millionaires. I might be a "millionaire" on paper but a solid portion is tied up in startup options. when the tech bubble pops who knows how much that stuff will be worth.

The only reason we have a loneliness epidemic is because it's being measured and more people are single. People in past eras were forced into marriages by social convention and had no means of saying whether they were lonely or not. The issue with some of these "shy guys " might be more like "serious mental issues and basically holding it together ", but that's my bias view I don't know about serious mental issues. I think a lot of people don't have friends who put them in positions to succeed. If you are shy you need someone who is going to help you be more social. Friendship at times can be overrated if your friends are keeping you around to be the same person you were in the past, say you were shy when you met them and y…

being shy can be seen as "cute" when you're young but will be seen as "cowardly" when you are older. irony is a lot of these love shy guys who are married will act like they were super charismatic when they were dorks. look at some of the comments people post online, long "dear diary" posts and you're telling me these guys were cool lol? long story short, you need to learn to be assertive as you get older if you want to succeed in general, especially if you want to date.

these guys need to find someone early in adulthood (18-23), there is no solution outside of getting lucky as you get older.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/02/25 06:47 PM

Also consider this - you never "feel" like an adult you just feel like a kid who now has to act like an adult. You cannot "feel" like a kid and succeed as an adult. You have responsibilities and people expect you to have specific experiences as you get older. People are altruistic far more often than they are selfish, and people can learn new things at all walks of life. I disagree that people are altruistic more than selfish, at best you'll get an opportunity to sink or swim. If you don't know …

And you know what? Playing with them is literally how you get better,, and no the experienced players, unless they're absolute jackasses, won't purposefully go hard on you for no reason. People are self-interested. There is no reason for the rest of the experienced players to get the guy who is an amateur up to speed. There's no reason for them to pick him in future pick up games either. I'm not saying this guy should give up in this hypothetical situation but be realistic. Lacking experience co…

this is obviously true but people will virtue signal and say it isn't. much like how if you fuck up college the odds of you getting a high paying job in the future are lower. that said, stop obsessing over the past. have fun and don't sweat making "mistakes" in dating or life.

If you can treat someone you're attracted to like a human being, it greatly increases the odds of you being able to get along with them on a basic level. They are totally different skills. There isn't much of a difference between befriending a man or woman as a man too, the shared experiences might be different but it's not complicated. Men and women are not befriending "each other in unique ways" and you don't need to grow up around women to befriend women either. dunno if it's a uniquely American thing, but it's more a socially uncalibrated response. That's the problem with online interactions now, you have a bunch of people who don't know how to communicate in a human way, they will try to "out logic" you instead of trying to get to the essence of the point here. /r/PurplePillDebate07/02/25 05:12 PM

/r/PurplePillDebate07/02/25 03:39 PM

Because it's unsustainable. Going on dates, eating out, and going out will make the ability to maintain a certain body fat % or maintain a specific look hard. If the guy is training 4 days a week, eating enough protein, and training properly he is doing more than a massive % of people. You can get good enough results within months at that frequency.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/02/25 02:54 PM

But is your body fat percentage in a good place? Are your muscles balanced and aesthetic? Do you need to go 6 days a week instead? This is all overkill lol. The guy needs to look in different places if we're reaching this level of fitness training.

This "extremely attractive, outgoing, charismatic 22 year old guy" virgin is a huge outlier to me. Maybe it exists among young people these days but it doesn't make sense because the vast majority of guys are spoonfed their first sexual experiences since some girl likes them. Going to the gym properly is lifting 3-5x a week, eating 0.8g of protein per pound daily, limiting daily fat intake, drinking a ton of water, no alcohol, no drugs lol. Having an amazing personality starts with being an extrovert who is willing to put himself out there unprompted, many people aren't that and need some help from their friends. Professional OLD photos, all you need is a couple of normal photos of you doing stuff that you enjoy. If anything, I've learnt that people overestimate them…

most don't do the stuff you're saying and figure it out. this idea that there's a lot of people with amazing personalities, in shape, and getting professional OLD photos is hilarious to me. if you need to do all of these things just to get attention from women then maybe you're searching in the wrong places. I'm saying 25 vs. 35, what percentage of guys are virgins at 25 vs. virgins at 35? It's two tiny percentages. It's a problem in the sense that you are in the minority at 22. Keep in mind that most guys don't go to college either and even so most guys aren't virgins at 22.

ofc there are some winners. but there will be a larger pool of losers in each passing year: financially, socially, and romantically. And go look at the quote again. Now take your age and add 29 years to it. That’s how old the people who read “it’s worse than ever” back then are now. It's from a fucking book lol, and I liked the movie version of Fight Club. Go ahead and ignore the trends if you wish to.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/02/25 02:17 PM
4

Yeah it started maybe 30-40 years ago and life gets more competitive in each passing year. I work in tech, my company doesn't even hire entry-level engineers anymore. I know tons of companies where the competition for an entry-level job is absurd. Meanwhile in 2010 anyone out of a bootcamp could walk into a 6 figure job. Technology rules us all and makes life in general more competitive. It's not just a problem in the US, youth unemployment in China (not the fake numbers) is extremely high.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/02/25 02:08 PM

the conclusion here is that politics is a massive distraction and that competition will go up regardless of who is in power.

/r/PurplePillDebate03/02/25 01:37 PM

the discussion on this sub can be boiled down to the fact that men are competing more than ever financially, socially, and romantically. that's why right wing talking points have become more popular among young men, because they all push a sort of nihilism that comes from feeling defeated.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/02/25 01:27 PM

Some young men struggle because of competition. Competition if you don't win makes you feel defeated. You can keep believing that "internet opinions" are more powerful than competition but you will be wrong, competition is what shapes the world around us. Also most young men aren't as socially awkward as you're implying. This is the real problem with the Internet, an inability to analyze an issue without going to extremes.

Not the case in my experience. In fact, I'd say the guys in "romantic exile" (not in a relationship for say 2+ years) are pretty much out of the picture romantically and need luck to find someone. This is the case in America at least.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/01/25 04:48 PM

That's fine, I don't think people need to have kids either. But you will be more isolated as you get older. Some people can live with that, most cannot and delude themselves.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/01/25 04:19 PM

There is no "they" and "us". You are on your own in life and only need to find a couple of women who are interested in you. If you're not interested in dating, then I'd argue it's better to immerse yourself in work but find work that is actually meaningful and that you are good at. What community? The community of having a family and meeting other families.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/01/25 04:14 PM

let's be honest. most men do not have this meaningful life that they dream of. their biggest accomplishments are being part of a community, having kids, and being a husband. that is fine BTW but I'd argue that what I said is better than even being a white collar millionaire with a boring desk job.

there is no guarantee you will have a well-paying job in this scenario to purchase a house or pay off a mortgage. billionaires lose money on paper, first thing they'll do is cut labor costs through outsourcing. you will not win in a global economy as an ordinary person and things will not get easier financially. maybe you'll be happier but that's a different question.

it will mean that a lot of assets will be worth less on paper. outside of that, I don't think declining birth rates is a negative or a positive *over a long enough timeline. The one issue is there will be fewer young people and a higher proportion of older people meaning the working force will be much smaller. the bubble of hanging and knowing the same type of people in perpetuity and prioritizing a lot of things that aren't that important. American culture teaches that being gifted in tests means you need to strive for money/prestige.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/01/25 04:06 PM

You can't take studies at face value. You need to see how "high IQ" is defined, how they measure IQ, and the h-index (credibility) of the authors. It's a lot more complicated and social science studies are filled with BS conclusions.

Being born in America is a great gift for this reason. Every small country leader probably has an existential fear of being conquered or overthrown with the exception of places like Switzerland.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/01/25 02:35 PM

Lots of men have high IQs and good social skills. I would imagine those men do the best when it comes to dating. How can a lot of men be proficient in something that can be explained using a bell curve? By definition there aren't a lot of men with high IQs. So again it comes down to what you define "high" as. Regardless if you have a high IQ you are put in a tiny bubble from a young age and it stunts your social skills compared to others. You also interact with the same sort of people for years.…

Yeah could be confirmation bias on my side too. I just think that the mother's height plays a bigger role in male son height at least IME. All of the tall kids had tall moms, the dads were more variable but also I agree they weren't 5'6'' or 5'7''.

Old people got married in their early 20s, people get married later now. At least in America, your social circles get smaller and smaller as you get older especially after high school and college. Besides that, people move a lot more now so your social circle could be scattered across the country. The point is circumstances change so solutions have to adapt with them.

Once you get used to something, it becomes harder to change. I've been content alone for a bit and it hasn't made me want to put myself out there in the present. yeah, that's why I think after the next tech collapse, a lot of these big companies will move full departments overseas to reduce cost. even H1B holders will get priced out.

Considering I took it up coding as an inquisitive nerdy hobby in middle school, tech bro's frat-like culture is honestly super counter-productive to any of my goals. And we have no unions or useful trade orgs really. The realization I had is that a lot of the products built aren't needed or useful at all. I got into coding because I wanted to build things and even some of the most innovative things are derivative. Maybe actual engineering was the correct path after all.

wages in tech have already stagnated. the next step is to move development and other operations overseas, tbh the people getting mad about this are years late.

they do understand parts of the pill ideas though but do not discuss them openly. Pill ideas are controversial because the inevitable conclusion of the ideologies is that you are constantly being judged for things that are potentially out of your control. That alone is an uncomfortable conversation for people to have because we strive to be kind to others. I'm not a fan of these pill ideas but the way people discredit them is to go to extremes to show how "radical" the ideas are when the essence…

why do they need to be reformed in the first place. women and men who partied/had a bunch of relationships will have an easier time finding a future relationship than a shut in. They are better socially calibrated.

/r/PurplePillDebate13/12/24 10:16 AM

Failed relationship doesn't give you anything positive, only emotional baggage. no it isn't, it's just a failed relationship. life is filled with failures, the people who build them up as bigger than they are don't succeed. you can let it burden you but that's a personal choice.

You can let go of the past and still have stuff you wanna do. I think you're underselling what a midlife crisis is. If you're comfortable being old and want to go parachuting that's not a midlife crisis.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/12/24 01:31 PM

the stuff people do is a manifestation of wanting to be young again man. To me it goes beyond buying a car or going on a trip as I said, it's a mindset of not letting go of the past.

most people's bodies are hardly "healthy" at 40 or 50. a mid life crisis is older people trying to do things they wished they could when they were younger.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/12/24 01:13 PM

nothing is going to change. this is like the Gamestop thing in 2021, when dumb people on the Internet thought Wall Street was going to collapse.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/12/24 02:34 AM

You can't go back in time and if you want to feel better about it, I don't think there's much of a difference between being a virgin as a guy at 22 vs. 25 vs. 35. There's no point obsessing over anything btw, that's how something is made bigger than it actually is in your mind.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/12/24 12:55 AM

you gotta eat way less fat than that. 0.2-0.3*bodyweight grams of fat for a 6 pack but in general less than what you're eating for sure.

Standards talk is procrastination. Just because some viral Internet posts are telling you that you need to be jacked or make 6 figures doesn't mean you need that. People lie about their comp/net worth anyway and to the average Joe being skinny is a good physique. Besides, you're a guy in the modern West in arguably the easiest time to economically ascend and tons of resources online to get in shape.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/12/24 06:49 AM

every week there's a thread on why dating apps need to improve. meanwhile I meet tons of people who meet their BF/GF on dating apps. it has to be the most common way of meeting someone if you're young.

you need to eat 0.2bodyweight in fat g and 0.5bodyweight in carb g to get a 6 pack. Not worth it at all, besides the most motivating part of the gym is getting stronger to me not looking better aesthetically.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/11/24 09:58 PM

Yeah I get a good chunk of protein intake from yogurt daily and eggs once in a while. Produce costs are fine, depends on the fruits/vegetables you're buying. Berries for example will always be expensive. I think I get 1/2 to 2/3 of my protein intake from "prepared" food in some capacity, whether it's fast casual, my local grocery store that puts out prepared food which isn't highly processed, or protein shakes. The prepared food from my grocery store I could probably cut if I wanted to save mone…
/r/PurplePillDebate27/11/24 08:10 PM

Depends on what you eat and your caloric/protein intake. I live in America, it's more expensive for me than usual but I'm eating more protein than the avg. person. Even if I cooked at home it wouldn't be cheap unless I were eating chicken breast daily.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/11/24 07:52 PM

it's not hard at all. I cook very little during the week and eat mostly prepared food from the grocery store and a couple restaurants. easier to track macros, less time, and healthier than what most people eat on a daily basis.

Women are more open about problems they have and communicate more than men. Men reach out to their friends usually when the situation is more dire. That's why you can't compare the two situations. she would sincerely thank me and say something like "this helps soo much..I owe you". then I would not hear anything from her for another 3+ weeks, until the next request came. that's on you, you are a pushover. /r/PurplePillDebate21/11/24 11:58 PM

I can understand 3-3.5k calories, that makes sense given a lot of people are 200+ lbs.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/11/24 11:43 PM
1

lol give whatever edge case you want. 2 medium Dominos Pizzas is sub 4k calories. Don't know too many people with that type of appetite if they are sedentary all day.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/11/24 11:25 PM

Only if you eat clean. Not at all, consistently eating 4.5k calories is not easy. Again, that's a ton of food.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/11/24 11:18 PM

french fries have a ton of calories at a lot of places, same with chips, nuts, etc. a medium french fries at McDonalds is 378 calories (43g of carbs and 15g of fat). It's not bad at all. A bag of chips is 200-300 calories. Not stuff I'd eat, but I'm pretty anal about macros now. 5k calories is a ton, seriously people underestimate how much food that is. Even the guys I knew who were bulking were eating less than that.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/11/24 11:06 PM

it's not easy to eat 5k calories a day, that's a ton of food. most people need to eat 1500-2500 cals per day to maintain their weight (assuming healthy weight people, varying heights and genders) and it's actually not that much food compared to what you get ordering at a restaurant, snacks, or even eating too much of a homecooked meal. I can see the point but also largely disagree. I don't cook much at the moment because I'm experimenting with my diet and I eat ~2400-2500 calories + drink a shit…
/r/PurplePillDebate21/11/24 10:57 PM

get the smaller ones then, looked at the macros online and the smaller ones are <8g of fat and ~20g of carbs each.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/11/24 10:41 PM

that's an accountability issue. nobody is telling you to eat a 700-800 calorie cookie, when the serving size is 1/4 of that. besides, you eat the whole cookie it shouldn't impact your caloric intake for the day or the week all that much. people eat worse and don't even realize it.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/11/24 10:24 PM

why is there so much hate for Crumbl Cookies online. it's a cookie not poison.

come out of it thinking they have the gospel truth and then try to gaslight the experienced and successful people about their own lives you're accusing them of what they will accuse you of doing. If we're been honest here, most discussion starts with "guy struggles with dating" -> "someone successful says they are wrong, I am successful" so the gaslighting if anything happens first from the successful person. I think a lot of people online are trying to discredit the experiences of these guys and use the cartoonish "labels and archetypes" to totally discredit their experiences rather than meeting them in the middle. I think as guys get older, they kinda have to be open to dating single moms. Either that or be OK being alone. Plus I find the obsession over body count to be a bit juvenile. Stuff like avoid unstable people or don't spend a lot of time/money on people you're not interested in is obvious to me.

what even are the best parts of the RP? the guys who do best with women had positive experiences at a very young age (so they have confidence) and were attractive, even having "game" is overrated IMO. main issue is more how everyone acts like they are above violence when we still largely rely on violence (or the threat of violence) to survive via the state. because the average person is. the people who actually fight in wars and who they are is very far removed from what the average person in the West experiences. I'd argue that a lot of combat vets don't fight for our freedom but to serve the state or satiate some desire to fight, these guys have a different mentality from 99.9% of people. P…

In a modern peaceful society, propensity for violence is seen as useless at best and toxic/dangerous at worst alongside sheer physical strength to a lesser extent. If that's your experience, I can't argue with it. Personally the only women I've heard struggle to date and wanted to were very socially introverted. If you are decently good at striking up conversation, you should be able to find a couple guys interested in you if you spend a short time in a social setting. As a guy you need to do more to have women interested in you. It is as dire as people say online no, but it is definitely more than women attracting men.

If you're in a street fight, the goal of the situation is to get out unharmed. A rando with a knife or any sharp object will fuck you up and no BJJ will save you. Plus if you injure the guy in a fight you risk manslaughter charges depending on how the fight originated. Reality is most fake tough guys online would shit themselves if a gun were pointed at them. People shit themselves in sparring training situations all the time and they know their life isn't really on the line.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/10/24 12:45 AM

among educated people this isn't something women care about man. We live in a more safe culture. There's a reason why safety is associated with how jacked you are or how tall you are, when a guy with a knife who is 6 inches shorter than you would fuck you up badly.

it doesn't make sense, plenty of people get married later especially those who are richer / in richer countries. I don't see the point after a certain age but that's my personal opinion.

Put your profile on a dating app and you'll see what your level is. Besides you're covering your face and any good dating app profile you need a couple of shots of your face anyway.

The point is that being alone is better than being with someone who doesn't enhance your life I disagree, strangers aren't going to "enhance" your life immediately and expecting them to do so is expecting a lot. Honestly, I think it takes a while, maybe even years, to know if someone is actually enhancing your life in a real way. Once you're alone for long enough, you will stunt yourself in certain ways that are hard to change. Agree to disagree I guess.

isn’t that straight women shouldn’t date or marry it’s that they should be very picky and only spend time with, date, and marry men who are certain to add to and improve upon their perfectly serviceable solitude. being picky is a recipe to be alone. I'm not saying men/women should pick the first person they meet but the longer you spend alone, the less you'll want to include someone in your life. the problem is that people wait too long nowadays, when you've gone through enough adulthood, you wi…

I agree in principle (they won't get enough calories/protein) but at the same time most people don't need to go 0.8/1:1 on grams of protein to weight. That's for people who train hard. A lot of people don't train hard and just gain weight eating a bunch of protein.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/09/24 11:53 PM

you can't suppress your diet and gain muscle. and tbh even if they do resistance training, they will injure themselves if they've been inactive for decades. The problem is people want results now when they've neglected their health for years.

it gets harder, you need to be more impressive and you have to go out of your way to meet people.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/09/24 06:50 AM

Yeah it's a combination of not interacting with that many women in your formative years and being different. In general, being smart isn't and will never be cool.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/09/24 12:51 AM

A guy who wins math competitions is usually far removed from a lot of normal people lol. That's the main issue for these guys, plus they aren't talking to tons of women growing up.

/r/PurplePillDebate20/09/24 01:46 AM

it sounds like you're intimidated by lifting weights. most athletes weight train in some capacity and you don't need to use steroids to get results in the weight room.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/09/24 01:35 AM

lol that's absurd, most people don't have the work ethic to reach a super aesthetic physique anyway
/r/PurplePillDebate20/09/24 01:22 AM

I'm just stating the obvious. Beautiful older women are considered beautiful because they look younger. Women do cosmetic surgeries to look younger. There are beautiful older women but they are not struggling to meet guys and in manys ways are harder to attract.

I agree that money went further in the 80s and 90s. but wages haven't stagnated, in fact wages have outpaced inflation since Jan 2020. that includes higher income earners whose wage inflation has been less than lower income earners. people on minimum wage have always struggled financially, it's a tough place to be long-term.

/r/PurplePillDebate19/09/24 05:58 AM

it turns out when given the choice women would prefer to either delay having kids or limit the number of kids they have. it also raises their standards. exactly, the raised financial standards mean you end up being financially unstable anyway lol
/r/PurplePillDebate19/09/24 05:45 AM
1

wages haven't stagnated. wage growth especially in lower income workers has been massive over the last few years, contributing to the massive inflation wave we've experienced.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/09/24 05:40 AM
1

it probably did go further but not by as much as you think. The one case with massive appreciation has been housing but you don't need to be a home owner to have a kid. Besides, these people were having kids in their early 20s, everything will seem expensive then. Wage inflation has been pretty good for a while now too.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/09/24 05:29 AM
1

finances have always been important, people in the past made more sacrifices. I think it's OK for younger generations to admit they don't want the responsibility of caring for a child over money, when a lot of people just made it happen. it's not like older people were flush with money when they had kids in their 20s lol.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/09/24 05:17 AM
1

you don't need to be a home owner to have a kid. and people shouldn't be "barely affording rent" if you are splitting rent among 2 people unless you are renting a luxury building or something like that.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/09/24 05:06 AM

Nope, young people aren't equipped for responsibility compared to older generations. I say that as a relatively young person.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/09/24 05:02 AM

I feel like a lot of people nowadays use "financial reasons" for not wanting a kid when their own parents didn't care much about the financial side.

The idea that men have to improve themselves until they’ve reached nirvana, are getting paid $1,000,000 a year, look like Mr. universe, etc etc, just to start tying to pick up women, is ridiculous. Believing this to begin with is unbelievably naive, nobody sane is telling you that you have to do any or all of these things to find a partner. It almost feels like an excuse to not try. A lot of people need to learn to set manageable goals instead of shooting for the moon.

what's holding guys back in the context of talking is romantic escalation and flirting. that to me is "social skills" and honestly most guys aren't going to be good at that anyway. it's one of those things you kinda learn as a teenager/young adult. Being unable to read the room or hold a platonic conversation is a more serious issue and I don't know many, if any, people with that sort of problem. anyone with a semi-professional job should be able to do that as an adult.

/r/PurplePillDebate05/09/24 11:21 PM

I didn't say it was, more so that a 7 minute single mile without doing exercises in succession isn't anything to write home about. if someone had a pacer and was relatively fit they could do it.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/09/24 06:02 AM
1

99th percentile is a 13min 2 mile time. That type of guy is running 5-something in a 1 mile run easily. look at the expected physical standards for special forces (https://msigwarrior.com/pft-us-green-berets.html#google_vignette), this is a better benchmark for who is "fit" and who isn't. these guys go in combat.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/09/24 05:58 AM
1

something that is achievable by 10 year olds isn't good enough for a fully grown man. I ran faster than that as a tiny 10 year old kid and wasn't anywhere near the fastest in my class. we need to set standards higher for fitness, running ~10 miles (5k 3 times a week) is a solid start though.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/09/24 05:40 AM
2

being able to run a mile under 7 minutes at least that's not really a measure of cardio and it isn't hard if you're relatively thin and know how to pace yourself over 4 laps around the track.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/09/24 05:31 AM
1

disagree. physically men peak earlier, financially and mentally men peak later.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/09/24 04:31 AM

the idea of family and relationships will be re-defined imo. I see this now where women in their mid-late 30s get a sperm donor and become single mothers by choice. now this is too expensive for most women but if it's ever scaled, I think it'll become fairly common. this is excluding the fact that a lot of people come out as gay or bi nowadays. basically a lot of people, predominately women, will take on the roles of mother and father willingly.

/r/PurplePillDebate29/08/24 05:38 AM
1

the standards have gone up, they haven't gone as much as you think. women have always cared about height for example. maybe it's like 100 options vs. 500 options but a lot of guys wouldn't even want to compete with 50 or 100 men.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/08/24 05:28 AM
1

This mythical time when women didn't have options doesn't exist in modern times. maybe it's hundreds vs. hundred, men have always had to compete. it's not like young women had 1-5 total options 20-30 years ago.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/08/24 05:14 AM

these guys won't admit it, but they are talking about arranged marriages when they say women's standards have gone way up.

/r/PurplePillDebate27/08/24 12:04 AM
3

you gotta get to the bottom of why you don't want to have friends
/r/PurplePillDebate26/08/24 10:29 PM
1

A lot of these friendless guys are a bit naive. They think they can be anti-social and a woman will fall in their lap. Then they justify being anti-social with "it's becoming the norm" based on surveys and statistics. It's circular though because a good friend would tell them to put yourself out there or change behavior.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/08/24 08:02 PM
1

having no friends could be the source of someone being single, you got no one to give you advice, no one to go out with, no one to set you up with other people, etc. it's probably better to have a bunch of acquaintances at the same point in life as you rather than close friends who are at different points but "online friends" aren't the same. it's like being FB friends with someone back in the day.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/08/24 05:53 PM

visceral disdain is doomerist nonsense, maybe a small percentage of women reject in a mean way but most are pretty nice about it. if you are inexperienced past 22, a large group of women will reject you unless you are incredibly attractive.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/08/24 02:03 AM

nice parts of washington, oregon, and colorado have all become relatively expensive tbh
/r/PurplePillDebate25/08/24 10:53 PM

maybe that's true but the average guy does get attention. is it "a lot" of attention, maybe not, but they get something.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/08/24 09:23 PM

yeah but tons of women do both and a lot of men don't care
/r/PurplePillDebate24/08/24 06:39 PM
3

stuff like looks and money matters more if you're upper middle class and above in a Western country. women in that socioeconomic class can hold out for longer, freeze their eggs, etc. if they are making good money. status I think is stupid because 95-99% of people won't have status that matters in a meaningful way.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/08/24 06:16 PM

we all got different priorities, I don't want to waste time learning how to cook complicated stuff especially when a lot of it is high in carbs or straight up unhealthy. I only load up on carbs when I do a heavy workout.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/08/24 07:38 PM

if you got money, cooking is a waste of time. I cook basic stuff bc I like controlling my diet but I don't even consider that cooking because anyone can learn to make the stuff I can make within a few hours.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/08/24 07:22 PM

There's a difference between feeling "a little insecure" about something and the way people obsess over it online. It's become like a form of body dysmorphia to me. I’ve had beautiful women that I respect tell me they’d date me if I was taller. Straight up. Ok so what? Most guys have heard a variation of this based on some attribute they have. It's standard negging, ignore and move on.

/r/PurplePillDebate03/08/24 11:16 PM

to have the jacked, but lean look you need to be lifting for years (5+) and potentially taking steroids. this is the aesthetic people are after when people say "hit the gym" it's not realistic to dedicate perfect training/diet + illegal supplements to achieve this. say you can bench 225. that puts you among the top 1% of the population easily. The average guy who benches 225 doesn't look "fit" a lot of them are guys who are heavy to begin with and are benching bodyweight.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/08/24 11:11 PM

people who say "hit the gym" are either on steroids or haven't actually hit the gym hard. anyone who does hit the gym knows that gains take time and staying lean while maintaining gains is not an easy task at all.

Is your friend with a wife and kids going to focus on his kids' success/happiness, his wife's success/happiness, and his job that provides for his family or his friend who spends all of his time alone? be pragmatic instead of virtue signaling, maybe your friends will help you out but you are a minor priority in their life once they are married with kids. I have close friends and I talk to them about a lot, but once they have kids I understand that they need to spend most of their energy on them.…

I am posting about how single guys can make themselves happier. If they want a wife and kids then they have selected the path of suffering. repressing your desires is not the answer to happiness and embracing actual solitude will alter you in an irrevocable way. that's why it's terrible advice and young men listen to nonsense like this not understanding any better. if you don't care about having a wife and kids, fine. but if you do, this is going to make you miserable. This is a highly underrate…

Terrible advice if you want a wife and kids. People will not notice in your solitude and will move on from you entirely. I feel bad for people who take this advice to heart, it reminds me of the "monk mode" crap that some influencers push online.

that's why you see girls with beat up dudes as much as you see ugly dudes with a beautiful women. I don't see this nearly ever, especially when I was in school. The usual times I see this is a gold digger situation or two older people where one person clearly stopped caring about their health/appearance as they aged.

Unless you are highly qualified at something, being super picky is a mistake if you want something. I've made this mistake with my career and have left money on the table, the same applies to anything in life including dating. It's better to quit entirely than to have a bunch of standards if you're not at the top of the heap. What's going to happen for a lot of people is life is going to pass them by as they believe in a bunch of standards that people who met in their early 20s didn't think much…
/r/PurplePillDebate28/07/24 09:35 PM

nothing happens, but you have to actually be smooth at that point. in college you get a lot more leeway.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/07/24 09:20 PM

you need to initiate conversation with someone in a non-sexual way to start and I doubt you'll be a "creep" for doing that at a party. Older people don't have time to chit chat or at least like to give the appearance of being busy, that's why it's harder.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/07/24 09:02 PM

guys who are afraid to approach from 18-24 need to get out of their own head honestly. once you're older than that, I can understand the trepidation but nobody is gonna care if you approach a girl at college.

If you do it once a week, it's pretty sedentary. Running 5 miles outside might burn 400-500 calories, you think the average person is doing a 5 mile run?
/r/PurplePillDebate27/07/24 03:40 AM

they underestimate caloric intake by a lot and are sedentary. running on a treadmill, doing weight training, or walking aren't tough workouts.

they are rejecting the coffee date because it's not an experience. find a cheap 1st date that is an experience and you're fine. an expensive dinner is the default "date experience" which is why it gets suggested after the coffee date is rejected. use your imagination and think of new experiences and she isn't gonna care about how much it costs.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/07/24 11:33 PM

Some of you guys gotta use your brain a bit more lol. you want a cheap date which is fine, then don't take her to Starbucks like every idiot is doing. there are other cheap dates that people aren't doing which you should try. if you're insistent on coffee, go to some artisanal coffee shop and sell it as a new experience.

Still, Democrats are shitting themselves for good reason. Harris has created a lot more buzz/enthusiasm than I thought, so idk about that. We'll see once the debates happen, I assume Harris/Trump will be near even in all 7 of those battleground states after the DNC.

Men don’t care about what women want past getting into their pants. And that’s their right, especially since we have the right to reject or divorce them that's ridiculous, nobody I know nor I would date a broke woman for example. or someone who didn't go to college unless they dropped out and are exceptional. other guys have different things they prioritized outside of sex, we're adults here.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/07/24 06:28 PM

this sub has a diverse crowd, I don't think much about it
/r/PurplePillDebate24/07/24 03:24 AM

If you lack success as a man and are trying hard, yeah you seem desperate. Plenty of guys go through dry spells and don't gaf because they have the ability to end the dry spell if they try hard enough.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/07/24 01:50 AM

men get over this period once they get older. unsuccessful men and women propagate this idea that men are obsessed with sleeping with women though because lack of success means desperation.

/r/PurplePillDebate19/07/24 11:05 PM

once you're past 24/25, you're already in a losing position if you're not in a relationship. dating apps/cold approaching are meant to be hard and people don't seem to realize that. the point is, you need to work harder once you're past that age to find someone.

lots of young people are skinny fat by the time they're 18-22, but in high school a lot of people play sports or do more active stuff. once you're an adult, you need to go out of your way to exercise.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/07/24 12:39 AM

on that note: feminism becomes egalitarianism in a romantic relationship, where both people are equally responsible for all aspects of the relationship. This sounds like corporate speak. In reality, this is rarely the case.

they don't
/r/PurplePillDebate14/07/24 03:24 AM

it's not noticeable enough for it to matter. The problem is you're viewing fitness as something binary, plenty of people who are skinny fat or do something active once in a while look fit in clothing especially if you consider young people.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/07/24 10:01 PM
3

Because most people, even those who lift or work out, have unremarkable bodies especially wearing clothes and not in perfect lighting. This is actually the opposite of the blackpill and tbh people should workout or play sports because they find them fun, rather than for aesthetics. Getting down to extremely low body fat% requires a level of sacrifice most people wouldn't want to put up with or deal with long term.

Most people aren’t dating in high school. Most people aren’t openly declaring their interest in you. Don't be ridiculous...maybe the Gen Alpha kids are like that, but certainly not my experience in high school.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/07/24 11:38 PM
7

I think you missed this guy's point. Besides, there's an obvious gap between a woman being interested in you and having sex, especially when you are a teenager/college. The fact is, if you have received zero interest from women throughout your teenage years and college, you have a lot more work to do than your peers.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/07/24 11:35 PM

An average guy is not struggling to get laid or date...are they dating around as much as more attractive guys? No. But this is known information from when you are in high school.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/07/24 11:10 PM
3

Most people are noticeably above average at SOMETHING. That's where we disagree. Theres always something to specific gush about, even if in aggregate they are average. Yeah and the average rating for someone is a 7. People think they are a lot more accomplished or better than they are.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/07/24 08:46 PM
2

Almost everyone has something not average. You have to be noticeably above average among the people you know for it to matter. We're not in a population study, dating/relationships are more about how you compare to the people you're in closest proximity with.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/07/24 08:32 PM

They must have a selling point somewhere, something special. that's the virtue signaling answer, but no. most people don't have some sort of interesting selling point, but they put themselves out there with people who are similar to them and find someone.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/07/24 07:57 PM

average guys go on dates and get married
/r/PurplePillDebate11/07/24 07:49 PM

I don't need my worldview on this changed. Going to the gym, losing weight, or getting a better job are good things. Doesn't mean you're going to live the life of a "Chad."
/r/PurplePillDebate10/07/24 05:08 PM

Every guy isn't built to date around, that's for a select group of men. Trying to replicate the lifestyle of the most attractive men because it "works" is like trying to work at a hedge fund when you didn't even go to college. I agree though on the data thing, people are obsessed with these doomer stats instead of going after whatever goal they have. Either improve or quit, it's that simple.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/07/24 04:27 PM

lol...some of y'all on this sub are weird af
/r/PurplePillDebate10/07/24 03:57 PM

how do you know someone's sex life through customer service? Or are you calling an ugly guy "inkwell-leaning" to make your point?
/r/PurplePillDebate10/07/24 03:52 PM

someone's character isn't based on how they look. but besides that, people put on a front in a job setting vs. personal, idk why this needs to be explained on the Internet so much.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/07/24 03:47 PM
3

That seems pretty normal to me, women who aren't going on dates or not in a committed relationship are outside of the norm.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/07/24 10:22 PM

Nope, people on the Internet are obsessed with hierarchy. The best place for male solidarity are friends who actually care about you or if you have a good relationship with your brother.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/07/24 09:24 PM

Dating is the tip of the iceberg. Most guys don't have a shot to date hot girls to begin with, but a bad group (or lack) of friends will put you down the wrong path in general.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/07/24 09:20 PM
2

A lot of male grievances online are either performative or meant to put down guys "less" than them in a backhanded way. That to me is why there is no male solidarity.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/07/24 09:10 PM

it's passive aggressive and a waste of time. focus on trying to convince one woman to have a family with you instead, if you want to have one.

How many times is this stat going to be rehashed here? I don't understand the point of repeatedly saying it, it feels like a poor attempt at shaming some women into doing something they don't want to do.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/07/24 10:58 PM

a 5'6'' or 5'7'' guy is perfectly normal. doesn't mean that he isn't short. likewise a woman who is 5'2'' is short.

a lot of people view friends in the context of a hierarchy. they put you in a box when they first meet you and you can't get out of it. very close friends won't do it, but anyone else could.

there's a humiliation ritual aspect to it that goes beyond talking shit
/r/PurplePillDebate25/06/24 08:40 AM

All I'm saying is that a guy who is marrying into a family that owns a PJ isn't reflective of >99.9% of Americans. Congrats but what you're saying isn't relevant for most of us. Even making mid 6 figures and not having your wife work will make it expensive if you live in a VHCOL or HCOL area in the US. Your wife doesn't need to care about money because she has a trust fund waiting for her and your mom (or people from past times) didn't care as much because cost of living was lower and assets wer…
/r/PurplePillDebate21/06/24 06:46 PM

so you married into obscene wealth, assuming this isn't a LARP, so you can afford to be a rich socialite for the rest of your life and your wife doesn't have to do anything because she presumably has a huge trust fund. for 99.9% of Americans, this doesn't apply.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/06/24 09:05 AM

The kids need to be raised by their mother and not by some rando nanny. So your wife isn't going to work from when your kids are in kindergarten to forever because of "traditional values"? You're getting fleeced bro, but to each their own.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/06/24 08:32 AM

Your average American holds opinions and values about life that would never fly in any country in Continental Europe (east, west, north, south, doesn't matter). lol the culture of many European countries is literally appropriating American consumerism at this point.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/06/24 08:14 AM

it's a stupid decision to begin with. For example, both people should work and contribute financially. You can screen for personality traits but it's better to be with someone who can financially pull their weight and is a bit opinionated over someone who is docile but doesn't contribute at all. Again, recipe to get fleeced.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/06/24 08:07 AM

no offense but you live in Croatia. "traditional values" there is very different than it is in America. Having all of these hangups in America is a recipe to be alone or get financially fleeced. that's my 2c.

do workouts you find fun only. otherwise you need to work out for aesthetic reasons and that requires a lot of dieting.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/06/24 11:05 PM

people who are 40+ give advice like that. a lot of people aren't even compatible with someone who goes to the gym and might even feel threatened by the dieting and workout schedule that gym bros have.

The extent to which women fear stranger men is completely irrational and entirely a product of female neuroticism + media hysteria. I don't think it's all that irrational and I also think you're taking comments at face value. I don't fear strangers but I also don't trust them.

Go for a walk around the "block" in your city at night and it will instantly change your mind. done that many times and been fine
/r/PurplePillDebate20/06/24 08:16 AM

/r/PurplePillDebate20/06/24 07:17 AM

none of the stuff you're saying matters much. passport bros, NEETs, adult video game players, and porn addicts are seen as losers. men will never have leverage in dating over women, and I think you and lot of guys here need to let go of that fantasy.

Most men would choose to be poor and most women would choose to be rich. this makes no sense. most people would "choose" to be rich if they could, they don't have the skills, network, and resources to get there. people across socioeconomic classes can be in a relationship.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/06/24 07:32 PM

mid to late 20s
/r/PurplePillDebate17/06/24 11:59 PM

it's a meal, I cover for my friends and family all the time. if it's too much then it's better to go to a cheaper restaurant. the real things that you can't figure out easily are things like credit card usage and debt. those are more worrisome than a bill at a bar or restaurant and you can only figure that out with time.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/06/24 06:23 PM

it's a class and cultural thing. some cultures people are married by a certain age and if you're richer, you can afford to freeze your eggs/other fertility treatments for years. anyway I largely agree.

they're teenagers, what do you expect?
/r/PurplePillDebate13/06/24 06:21 PM

it's the base state for most young men, so yeah you have to make it work. TBH I don't see many women who are "happy single" because they usually aren't single.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/06/24 05:33 PM

plenty of men are happy single, traveling alone as a man is strange though.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/06/24 05:26 PM

this is a teenager/early 20s problem. guys who work don't care that much about getting women, I meet tons of guys of all ages who are totally checked out. plus ones who even if their relationship kinda sucks will stick it out because they don't want to go back to dating.

/r/PurplePillDebate11/06/24 12:12 AM

it's selection bias. the men who struggle at dating can't get a bite, the women who struggle at dating have ridiculous standards. both groups congregate online.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/06/24 11:48 PM

picking yourself up by your bootstraps is more true than not. you're the only person who can fix your situation.

money (advertise products on your page), social proof, and the ability to network with famous people. Reddit has none of those.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/06/24 11:23 PM

maybe, but realistically they've been gassed up by their friends when they are a bit above average. there's nothing wrong being average or a bit above average. tbh if you're model-level attractive and spending time on Reddit instead of IG, you're stupid.

/r/PurplePillDebate07/06/24 10:26 PM

I think it's mostly distrust. Anyway it's a man's job to find a community that accepts him. Not worth trying to figure out why and instead find people who accept you. People distrust others for a diverse range of reasons.

general distrust and sometimes competition

So there is something differentiating about how men interact with one another. What do you think that is? People are more insular when it comes to accepting a man vs. a woman. There's this notion that a man has an ulterior motive when he wants to do or join something. It's a hurdle you need to overcome as a guy in any community, outside of religious ones, which is why I think a lot of men turn to religion later in life.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/06/24 09:41 PM

his video felt like childish nonsense tbh, teenagers or people who don't grow up think like that. Men are lonely because they lack meaning, you get that through work or community. most people aren't capable of combining their passion with their talent, so they opt to find meaning in community. now we're more fragmented because people move around and a lot of interactions are between our anon avatars online rather than IRL.

while I agree that the red pill is nonsense, the problem you'll face arguing these guys is partially the reason they have a bunch of followers. they practically have a degree in arguing with people online and will shift what "the red pill" is to whatever is less cringeworthy. look at some of the responses here, paragraphs on paragraphs defending their ideology, it's like a religion at this point. the fact is, a lot of people don't need to go through self-improvement to find someone. nor do they …

most women are married by their early 30s, and I don't believe their preferences change all that much in that time period. if you mean women in their 40s are older, maybe.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/06/24 06:04 PM

a lot of people with zero control over their own impulses, families, and lives feel the need to exert control over strangers. it's hilarious tbh. tons of men have the same opinion, when the vast majority of men have consumed porn at some point or still do.

I've never met a guy who got 0 matches and somehow got tons of matches IRL. It's this fake anomaly case that gets repeated online by bullshitters. Yes, you can find a GF IRL but that same guy is probably going to struggle IRL too. Which is why this guy should cast a wide net, much like a mediocre job applicant should apply for a ton of jobs across different geographies and job titles. He doesn't have the leverage to be selective to begin with.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/06/24 04:23 AM

a guy whose experience on OLD is "as bad as playing the lottery" is not gonna do much better IRL. all of this has nothing to do with getting off your ass or making a change in your life either, plenty of well-adjusted and successful people use social media to get dates/laid.

The reason morons on the Internet tell guys to get off apps is moral superiority. Ignore anything that is mainstream ("apps are a stupid waste of time" has become a mainstream opinion) and think practically. The only time you can skip apps is if you have a massive social circle that includes a bunch of singles, and even then, why would you throw away your OLD profile because of this.

She's gonna be drowning in options too. Let's be real, unless you're a white collar worker making 6 figures you got no shot at her to begin with. People could use more control in their lives honestly. Yes, adults/people go too far, but doing "whatever" because you can is a recipe for failure. You need to follow something, and that's invariably going to be an adult in your life.

Now you're saying a wide range of women are approached in social settings, not just the conventionally attractive women. /r/PurplePillDebate15/05/24 09:11 AM

You're using an extreme example to make your point. Bars don't only have single people, the ratio of singles is probably closer to OLD. Besides that, reported gender ratios are closer to 2/1 or 3/1 on these apps (at least Bumble or Hinge are around that range). Men stay on for longer on these apps, so they are probably accounted as MAU while women leave quickly.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/05/24 07:41 PM

yeah bars and clubs want your money not your happiness either lol. all of these avenues are tools, the people who complain aren't successful and blame the tool instead. if you want a cheap way of meeting people, find someone when you're in high school or college.

The idea that women only desire a small % of men is men extrapolating extremely attractive women's preferences to all women. that being said, if you're using any dating app you can't be in the bottom 1/2 - 2/3 and get a good # of dates.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/05/24 07:12 PM

doomer porn is popular because it's the end state for most people even after some effort. a lot of people need to trick themselves into trying, which I think is better than being stagnant.

because a biscuit usually means something else in America. that's how language works.

better to watch porn than sleep around and risk STDs/pregnancies, engage in prostitution, or pay for sugar babies. those are far more dangerous.

lol what is this puritanical bs. watching porn once in a while is fine.

I am thinking of leaving my family (and don't have close friends) to a major city and never talking to them for a multitude of reasons, not sure how I can tell if its a good or bad decision. I would not recommend isolating yourself like that. The big city will make you feel even more lonely than you already are.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/05/24 08:16 PM

a lot of women here have "perfect boyfriends" as a LARP to trigger the virgins. it's painfully obvious based on how they communicate.

Can't be socially awkward and be a tech lead or a senior engineer at a good company. Even the people who move from foreign countries are good communicators. A lot of people call themselves "engineers" when they are probably closer to what a contractor is. Those are the people who can be isolated and socially awkward because they do bit work/scripting, aka not building software.

Tech bros get brought up because they tend to over-index on behavioral qualities that makes them uniquely more suffering when it comes to attracting women. It's not behavioral, it's a matter of opportunity (male-dominated space) and status. Tech has the least prestige among white collar fields. Any good tech team involves a ton of communication, planning, and working with stakeholders. You can't expect to be a shut in weirdo and advance as an engineer at least if you're working in good tech comp…

this poster dislikes tech workers, that's the basis of a lot of her posts. Anyway I hope you're on better footing sometime soon.

it's the cartoonish idea of how a straight man acts or is. that's what makes it entertaining though, without that this sub is another boring place online.

a lot of this sub seems to be lesbian/bisexual people talking about what a straight man thinks or is supposed to think lol. idc it's entertaining either way.

I never mentioned anything about specific stuff in the bedroom, the idea of "beta bucks" is a guy is being considered a husband because of his resources rather than who he is physically.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/04/24 06:19 PM

dating someone you are attracted to isn't immature and it isn't mature to date someone you aren't attracted to because they are "responsible."

It's $70k pre-tax. You need 15-20% down ($66k-$80k) + pay very high interest rates on the mortgage. The average person can't do that. I don't think even someone who is above-average in terms of net worth can. Canada is a whole different level of housing inequality but it's not great in America either.

nyc is dead compared to what it once was, I think because a lot of bay area people moved there.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/04/24 02:50 AM

Yes, because extroversion is overly represented at a bar or a social venue. If you're still in college, you can easily find someone who is introverted through class or a club or something like that. After college, good luck.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/04/24 12:23 AM

Don't think so. Tons of women don't go out, wouldn't classify that as extroverted. The problem is there is no way for you, as an introverted man, to meet them.

If you don't understand that spending a ton of hours a week with men because of schooling and eventually working with mostly men will limit your opportunities with women idk what to tell you. Nobody cares about your fake empathy, men who work in STEM (excluding medicine) need to accept they're going to have fewer opportunities to meet with women or move to a field that has more women. Or date mostly immigrants.

People who suck at math or science have co-opted the term nerd, it's about guys who are in math/science courses where most of the women aren't American.

/r/PurplePillDebate28/04/24 07:43 AM

you need to have a sense of what you want to prioritize by the time you're in your late 20s. the vast majority of people aren't going to have a happy professional, social, and family life. One or two of those things will take a back seat. I think having one of a good family or professional life is a solid outcome.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
