It fucked me up mentally constantly hearing, “guys only want one thing!” It made me feel so ashamed to have sexual desire, I feel so guilty when I view my partner sexually. It fucked me up so much I still have a hard time believing women even have a sex drive. It didn’t help that my first two girlfriends shame me for having sexual desires during puberty in high school. I don’t even believe it when my gf say I’m attractive.

That does make sense. Constantly hearing “watch our for boys” while going through puberty differently did something to me. That might be the reason why I fear making an intimate move. I constantly ask I can hold her hand, hug her, etc. despite her saying I don’t need to ask. My last two girlfriends shamed me for having sexual desires, but we were teenagers and they were taught to “watch out for boys.” I still find it hard to believe my own girlfriend can find me sexually appealing.

Because too many creeps ruined it for us. Now I’m scared to complement my own girlfriend out of fear of being seen as perv. She says it’s fine and she likes it, but I can’t help but feel dirty or I’m doing something wrong.

Why on earth would you get a vasectomy if you intend to have children later? Vasectomies are for childfree men or fathers who already had enough with kids.

As a veteran it doesn’t bother me much. I don’t ask for much. I just to be able to live comfortably. But despite walking with a cane for my chronic pains because of an ankle injury I suffered, I’m not disabled “on paper” so legally. I still able bodied. Damn the VA!

That’s actually pretty noble of you. I think I’ll join in too. Because I did the same, but gave up when nobody here on this sub saw their own hypocrisy. But you’ve proven me there are sensible ones out there.

That’s good, but I meant defending your friends on this sub. As you can tell, the comments here are disagreeing with you. I’m just saying don’t bother convincing anyone here your friends are feminists.

Don’t bother. A lot of guys here don’t see the irony in saying feminism is the main problem and their generalization of women. Save your argument and mental health for those who with an open mind.

I’m scared that this subreddit is going to become the thing it hates. We can’t fall into these radicals like Andrew Tate. We need to be better than that, not stoop to the level of the radical feminists.

Was just venting frustration with this sub being less of “men’s rights awareness” and just hating women. I was too, happy, like you when I first joined. Sorry to cause you confusion. I just wanted to put in my 2 cents.

Andrew Tate made shit worse for the MRA movement too.

We need more men like you. It’s the toxic mindset by bitter incels that give MRA a bad name.

I might have a potential publisher. I showed her the first few chapters and she loved it. She was able to read between the lines and noticed the commentary on how the men in my novel are treated as dumb brutes and sent to war. It’s given me a second wind.

Thank you for posting this. This my biggest fear of MRA. We become the thing we condemned. Especially with Andrew Tate setting men back and feeding into the radical side of MRA. I hate the fact men claim he’s an activist for Men’s Rights. No, he’s making us look bad.

That and am I the only one who would be insulted by the offer? I hate the stereotype of men being easily won over by sex. And I hate men who egg on this stereotype! We’re rational human beings and the myth of men “thinking about sex 100 times a day” has been debunked multiple times.

It’s terrible. I’m a veteran and I walk with a cane and yet I get daggers stared into me whenever I go on my walks(A way to keep healthy, but I’m still getting fat.) It sucks so much, especially how I would never hurt anyone. I literally served four years sacrificing my body and mental health. Transitioning to civilian life was way harder than I thought it was gonna be. I was treated more human in the Marine Corps than as a civilian and the only person who seems to care about my mental health is…

You’re right. We need to better if we want real change. As for OP’s sister. Do what she would do if the male equivalent of her is sleeping around her friend group. Warm them about her red flags and toxic habits. If they don’t listen, I’m afraid that’s their own fault and I’m sorry there’s nothing much else he can do.

Here’s an update: Just got out of the military and starting college. Currently writing it, but I still want an actual education and guidance in writing before I publish it. But to my amateur guess. 5 years for the first volume.

I’m writing a sci-fi novel about aliens invaders, but it’s from the invaders point of view. Basically it’s a commentary on how men are treated as tools more often than men. All men are fated to join their military at the coming of age, no other career path is allowed until the man has served his 40 years of military service, but they can’t be officers(The shiny ranks you would see) because the men are seen are “horny brutes incapable of complex thinking and strategy” Of course being alien invade…
