Your disclaimer about checking laws in your jurisdiction to see if you can be ignorant towards cops is despicable. You're obviously not a fan of law enforcement and I was doing my part to save someone from your terrible advice

Well you're giving blanket advice that may be ok to UK but people in the USA won't check laws in their jurisdiction. They'll just read a statement and believe it if it fits their agenda

You don't know what you're talking about. You have the right to remain silent if being questioned by police AFTER being placed under arrest. In this situation she MUST provide her name for the ticket he was writing. She would not be released post-arrest if her identity wasn't confirmed. If she took your advice she'd be in county jail waiting to speak to a judge as Jane Doe. Let her refuse a judge's order to identify herself and see what happens. She'd be held in jail under contempt until she coo…

Police are allowed to use force to make an arrest. Excessive force would be continually striking her after she submitted. She actually has her right hand under her chest refusing to submit the entire time. Anyone screaming that they are being choked is NOT choking.

You're so incorrect and this misunderstanding of the law is the disconnect between police and citizens. If an officer is writing you a ticket and you refuse to give your name you're making matters worse for yourself and can be arrested. you don't get to avoid a ticket by refusing to give your name. If you prevent an officer from making an arrest by walking away, or shoving this officer as she did, that's another charge and further making matters worse for yourself.

Whatever the punishment calls for the alleged crime should be the mandatory sentence served by the liar. It's the only way to ensure false claims are never made. Aside from that, this man had an unimaginable career stolen from him and there's no way to compensate for that

True that’s really all I was worried about. I figured it’s easier to avoid that then deal with it - I guess that’s the lazy way out

I always thought since they are alleging a second degree crime and the other half is being treated as a criminal by the community, when it’s proven otherwise the liar needs to be charged with a second degree charge of filing a false police report. If people knew they’d be going to jail for the equal amount of time to the crime they’re claiming all the BS would stop

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
