I just want someone who’d hold my hand

I would let? I wouldn’t let anyone rape anyone. You’re not a very good writer and that hinders you in these conversations. Believe it or not, some women weigh more than 120lbs, and some men weigh less than 200lbs. You talk about the trends as if there aren’t exceptions.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/07/23 04:13 PM

Yes. They can. You’re comparing apples to oranges, I’m comparing humans to humans.

How can you, in good conscience, uphold these double standards?
/r/PurplePillDebate19/07/23 02:14 PM

I guess that’s just the natural progression of language.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/07/23 03:26 PM

It’s interesting to me that “incel” implies the person is also a misogynist but “misogynist” does not imply the person is an incel. We all know that some of the most deplorable men are the ones who are getting the most. It seems like women WANT to call as many men as possible a misogynist, I guess that’s what makes them feel better about themselves when bad stuff happens. It’s always tempting to blame your problems on someone else.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/07/23 02:32 PM

Yeah, I’m not a virgin so I don’t feel as bad about myself as I would if I was. But it’s curious to distinguish these definitions and seems different person-to-person. I suppose it’s just human nature to try to direct one’s narrative in a way that makes them feel better.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/07/23 02:28 PM

I’ve been chatting (online and anonymously, so not really chatting) with people in my school and it seems I’ve completely misunderstood the term incel. I thought incel was an abbreviation for involuntarily celibate. I am a man who wants sex but doesn’t have any, so as embarrassing as it is, I thought that made me an “incel.” It turns out that actually (within my community at least) “incel” has nothing to do with involuntary celibacy. Incel is synonymous with misogynist, jerk, creep. I am not tho…

Because they’re hard to find.

Personally, and I know it’s pride month I want to be clear I mean absolutely no disrespect to these people on a human level, but in terms of me as an individual looking for a romantic sexual partner bisexuality is a bright red flag for me. I can’t really explain it, it’s not like that’s some magical trait that tells me all I need to know about a woman. It’s not a dealbreaker, just an impossible-ignore-flag. I guess it just puts someone in a box that I perceive as meaning her sexuality is likely …

When I had a girlfriend in high school it was like 100x per year. Dated for two years. I’m terms of casual sex outside a relationship, in the last three years there has only been 1 time.

I’ve heard the “a girl looking for a partner is like finding clean drinking water in a swamp, a boy looking for a partner is like looking for drinking water in the desert” analogy. I’ve heard it used by both men and women. The thing no one acknowledges is that you can do something about it in the swamp. You could have a water filter or iodine tablets. You could boil off the contaminants. It rains in swamps. What can you do in the desert? Keep digging through the sand I guess.

I’m so happy with the body positivity here, but I just gotta ask, does anyone actually prefer larger? I won’t even lie I’m packing 7.2” and it’s one of the only sexual assets I have going for me. But is it actually not so much of an asset?

I’m the same way. Props to you for admitting it. I try to admit my bias and how my anecdotal experiences influence my ideas too, but everyone here seems to despise getting personal about things. I never said women don’t. It’s so easy to type things like that, “find your own validation” yes that would be great. People who can do that are well adjusted adults who probably wouldn’t be caught dead on a subreddit like this. I am insecure. I am starved of validation, connection, and intimacy. I am working on myself but these are still very real struggles. And when I look around in real life they seem to be universal struggles. Maybe I’m the only here who can be honest with themself and admit …
/r/PurplePillDebate27/04/23 07:22 PM

I just provided an in depth analysis of why it makes me feel bad about myself. The gist of it is that I am insecure about the validation and attention I receive because it is 0. Without any kind of validation, for years, it begins to wear a person down and it affects my sense of self worth. I keep doing what I’m doing but I have no reason to believe it’s the right thing to be doing because other people seem to ignore it. And don’t come at me with the “oh you’re insecure? Just don’t be!!” Bullshi…
/r/PurplePillDebate27/04/23 07:12 PM

Good luck finding a human being without insecurities. Some are better at hiding insecurities than others, and some a great at just flat out denying they’re insecure (seems like you fit in this category). But insecurity is part of the human experience no matter what.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/04/23 06:35 PM

A while ago I commented something similar I’ll try to paraphrase that again. This is nothing but personal anecdotal experience so it probably doesn’t mean much to anyone but idk I wanna share anyways. I am the type of guy who is more attractive folding laundry on a Sunday afternoon than I could ever be at a bar / club / party on a Friday night. I’ve got my candles, my records playing, great meal planned for the evening, all clean and showered, playing with my cat, and actually doing the laundry …

I would do anything to become more hookup material than husband material. I guess I’m not either bc of how lonely I am but I definitely lean towards the husband material side, and it fucking sucks.

Yeah like I said pros and cons. Truthfully I have no idea what it is actually like 100 years ago beyond statistics, and neither do you. It is different tho. A lot of our problems today are invented problems. Micro stresses that didn’t exist before we had so much time and freedom. But in terms of being valued by society on no basis but gender, women are now valued more than they ever were and men are valued less than they ever were. I am making no commentary besides that. I am not saying I wish I…

Yeah that’s what I’m saying. Going from supremacy to equality is a downgrade, going from oppression to equality is an upgrade. Obviously equality is the goal here. Supremacy and oppression are horrible social issues and they were rampant historically. I’m just pointing out the differences from now, where we are closer to equality than ever before, and then.

Exactly my point about why it’s harder to be a young man today than it was in the past. All these challenges a young person must navigate and balance today didn’t exist 100 years ago.

I mean more and more studies come out about the damage excessive porn can cause. I’m sure you’ve heard the trope “I can see more pussy in an hour than ancient emperors saw in their lifetime” That definitely has pros and cons but I would not agree with you that is an objective blanketing “good thing” I guess we’ll just have to watch the future and see what happens.

Throughout all of documented history, there has never been a better time to be a promiscuous woman and there has never been a worse time to be a sexually conservative man. I am not saying this is a bad thing. This documented history I’m talking about is full of discrimination, oppression, and violence against women. So by saying “there has never been a better time” i am not saying better means “good.”But I do think it’s true.

Full circle back to my first comment where I said I would feel insulted if she made me wait longer than other guys, that is a random standard I have as a man. The standard is that I would want to believe she is sexually attracted to me. There are lots of things that might cause me to doubt her attraction to me and “withholding” sex is one of them. Your standard is that we should all wait three months, mine is that we shouldn’t. My only gripe here is that your post suggests we all abide by your s…

Highly dependent on each individual and their relationship dynamics, but you cited FDS as the platform for your post so let’s go with that. “No 50/50 stingy ass men! Treat me like the queen I am” Men are expected to invest more money than their counterparts. This one is cut dry and indisputably answers your question about investment. “I want him to be capable. It’s not really a preference it’s a grammatical standard. Some teachers are fine with it I’m sure. But, at least within professional non-fiction writing, this is the rule. I am well versed in the rules of academic writing in the context of philosophy. We make claims there and back them up by cited readings. The “I think” part is a given. Relationships come with far more investment from men. It’s a double standard. I’m not trying to dismiss that women have the right to be conservative with sex if that’s what they want, they totally can and there is nothing wrong with that. All I’m trying to say is that you are not considering the male perspective. Ideally I’d like to see a compromise, but you seem to want women to get whatever is best for them are no matter what. That must seem utopian from the female perspective, but it doesn’t …

Yes people take comments at face value and don’t put any more thought into it than that. That’s exactly what I’m talking about tho, they shouldn’t do that. It shouldn’t need to be labeled as personal opinion, that should be assumed. This idea is more critical towards the reader than the writer.

Valid. I have seen how birth control can affect a woman but I have to acknowledge that I will never truly understand what that feels like. I could never truly understand pregnancy either. I know these are very real concerns and I think they don’t get acknowledged enough on this sub. These are objective challenges for women in modern society and I don’t really know what else to do but sympathize. When I was in 8th grade English class I learned a very important lesson. I would always conclude my essays with “I think this means that…” “I’m my opinion, …” “I believe this us significant because…” My teacher pulled my aside and said “bud, don’t use that language. I think men and women have very different opinions on this and nothing can really change that. What if a guy told you “we have to have no-strings-attached casual sex for 3 months, then and only then will I consider you for a long term relationship. You can get a taste of dating, maybe coffee once a month. And ofc I will not be in any other long term relationships in this vetting period, so it’s fair.” And you keep throwing around “well, just assume that she makes everyone wait 3 months” that is …

What’s like saying all straight men cheat? Do you mean when I said two bi girls have cheated on me so I’ve developed some concerns? If I haven’t made myself clear, I certainly do not believe all bi girls cheat.

Dare I say it is? How blasphemous of me to claim that sexual orientation just might have some bearing on sexual behavior. ….
/r/PurplePillDebate21/04/23 07:21 PM

Well a name has absolutely no bearing on behavior. That’s an ineffective analogy.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/04/23 07:07 PM
1

Ofc not, and if it was just one instance it wouldn’t be nearly as big of an issue for me. But the fact that it’s happened back to back, and those two relationships make up for 100% of my relationship experience, I suppose it’s left me a bit jaded. Maturing is acknowledging bias, not entirely ignoring it. Ignoring bias is easy to advise but difficult (impossible) to actually practice.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/04/23 06:51 PM
1

I don’t really associate the two tbh. I have my standards / preferences for each and I compartmentalize those independently. And there so many other factors that are for more important than either of these. Imo there is no amount of looks that could make up for a triple digit body count in the context of a long term relationship and I wouldn’t dip below my looks-standards just bc she is “pure”
/r/PurplePillDebate21/04/23 06:37 PM
1

I think a very large percentage which is unfortunate given this preference I have, in reality I’ll probably have to completely disregard this preference. I wouldn’t say 100% of women are bi tho, I’d say around 75% are at least partially bi.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/04/23 06:21 PM
3

Bc I’ve dated two bi girls, both cheated on me with girls and thought it wasn’t “really” cheating, both came out as full lesbian after we split and it left me feeling completely invalidated. Both of them made me feel like the whole relationship was fake and I was just some obstacle to overcome in her empowering sexual journey.

Maybe it depends on age. I am kinda young, 22, raised in the Instagram era and to me an Instagram follow means next to nothing. Who I follow is just a list of everyone I’ve ever met and gotten close enough to exchange a username. I don’t unfollow anyone and I don’t notice if anyone unfollows me. I would say it is not necessary for my future wife to have unfollowed every one of her exes on Instagram, and I don’t plan to unfollow mine (I definitely would unfollow my exes if it was a big deal to he…

“Feminism” and “patriarchy” are counterproductive terms. Before my hot take I want to clarify what these terms mean to me. Feminism is gender equality. Its aim is an even playing field with equal opportunities for all genders. Feminism is for authentic fairness. The patriarchy is systemic sexism that has been embedded into modern society so deep that it’s a challenge to get rid of. It’s existed throughout history and inflicts gendered prejudice on everyone, and it comes from everywhere. Based on…

I don’t think they’re inherently less respectful, more so that attractive guys know when to be respectful. The fact is women are attracted to moderate and well timed disrespect. As much as people might disagree my mind can’t be changed on this. You’re in a recreational competitive environment with a girl you’re into - give her some heat. Some light-hearted trash talk. You said girls communicate clearly and boys communicate vaguely. Yet you have not once been able to communicate clearly to me. You said (paraphrased) clear communication is superior (100% agree with you there) but you also implied that girls are better at this than boys. Better and superior are synonymous. (A synonym is when two words mean the same thing) So you implied that because you are a girl you are a better communicator. Which is evidently false.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/04/23 06:10 PM
1

You are simply not superior. Sorry hun. That mindset will not accomplish anything for you, then again I have no idea what you are even trying to accomplish. I disagree with literally every single rebuttal you just posted.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/04/23 05:59 PM

Maybe you’re just painfully awkward with guys? Maybe you aren’t willing to try to see from the perspective of the writer? Maybe guys and girls are different and they have different communication styles? And maybe girls communication style is not just inherently superior like you make it out be?

Maybe you suck? Does it take two to communicate?

As hard it is to believe to most women here, I am not looking for sex first. Yes - the girl can give me what I want in the form of love and passion and romance, so I understand that that’s something to strive for. I guess the disconnect is that women seem to expect all those things just for who they are, whereas men seem to work for it.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/04/23 12:33 AM

Men are also human beings (shocker I know)
/r/PurplePillDebate03/04/23 07:52 PM

Because the advice is frequently backhanded. It’s always “you have to approach, you have to pay, you have to be good enough.” The consensus among girls seems to be that they already are good enough. It’s the men who need to do the work, women consider themselves “the prize”
/r/PurplePillDebate03/04/23 04:18 PM
10

Why does every single post on this sub read like “men must conform to modern women” Nothing feels mutual here. Men complain and women invalidate complaints, men ask for advice and women say you just have to this, this and this and this. Without providing any logical reason about why a man should do those things. Why doesn’t it feel like women make an effort?

Low IQ tends to be a common quality of chads.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/03/23 08:36 PM

Chad is 100% personality 33% looks. Chad is “rizz,” “game,” “assertiveness,” “entertaining” A 7/10 could be a chad, a 10/10 could be one who moves in silence. If you think “chad” automatically means 10/10 and nothing else, why would you use the word chad when you could just say “10/10 guy”
/r/PurplePillDebate22/03/23 08:31 PM
1

“Chad” is a made up term with vague connotations so I’m not sure what our disagreement is beyond the definition.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/03/23 08:22 PM
1

Firstly 90% is not a disqualifying statement it’s more of an affirmative claim based on my own observations. Muscular tall introverts could certainly be chads but I haven’t met guys like that. Definitely not saying extroverts are objectively more physically attractive. It’s more so that the opportunities where attraction is typically pursued, bars, clubs, parties, require a degree of extroversion to even enjoy attending.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/03/23 07:47 PM
1

Maybe the qualifications of being a chad change over time, but for me as a 22M, when I hear chad I picture a 6’2” frat bro, drunk and shirtless dancing on a table while all the girls are clawing at legs trying to dance with him. No chance an introvert would ever do that, and unlikely an introvert would be invited to the party. Also, those examples are celebrities.

Because I’m medium-ugly and shy. I can make a fine 7th impression but I am physically incapable of making a good 1st impression when I meet someone. Another big reason is that I’m pretty comfortable being a loner. It’s been that way for a while and I’ve gotten objectively good and being alone. I’ve learned what I want / need from other people, and decided that I’d rather have no friends than bad friends (same for gf). I saw a funny clip on insta of these girls interviewing boys at a frat party and they ask “how tall are you?” And then immediately after the guy answers she pulls out a measuring tape. Every guy overestimated their height by at least a couple inches.

Virginity as an attractive trait makes sense in theory, but personally I’m not attracted to it all in practice. I definitely agree with wanting someone of similar values. The functional difference between a virgin and a 1-3 body count is zero in my opinion.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/03/23 05:36 PM
2

Q4M - who actually wants a virgin?? This trope is thrown around so often, “men have high body counts but only want a virgin” Firstly, these are two entirely different men. I don’t think any man actually has both a high body count and wants a virgin. Secondly, I don’t know a single man within my circle who prefers a virgin. I myself don’t prefer a virgin. So, men of ppd, do any of you admit “I could never marry a woman who’s not a virgin”?

I learned a new word today, thank you. Limerence describes exactly how I feel. This sort of involuntary infatuation, like a painful obsession that I’ve been sitting quiet with for so long that it’s festered into something I can’t explain. I do tend to self isolate when things get tough, I’ve been more conscious about that lately and I know how unhelpful it can be.

Because I don’t even think my roommates and I are all that clean. I live with 4 other guys in a neighborhood that’s predominantly fraternity, sorority, or party houses. So I guess the cleanliness standards are just low. But it feels odd to see a girl surprised at what I consider near the minimum for a comfortable living space, meanwhile the messy frat houses have more girls over in one night than I will all year.

Fair but we gotta look at it like it’s a spectrum. Everyone falls somewhere on the spectrum and yes the extreme at either end might not be neurotypical. Could someone explain why this whole thing is called red pill / blue pill? Wtf does any of this have to do with the matrix. My understanding is that red pill is really focused on improvement; making yourself look more attractive, go out and practice real social situations, pay lots of attention to those who are doing ‘better’ than yourself in whatever area you’re looking to improve. Blue pill focuses on acceptance; be yourself, discover your identity, believe you’re enough, be patient. I suppose…

I agree the number is just a number, nothing behind that. But it’s the reaction to the number that’s emotional.
