yeah i grew up strict catholic too. i’m not catholic now just non-denom christian. i wonder the same thing about people who pick up catholicism. but i understand turning to christianity if you have good leadership who lead by example in the way they live their lives, which i’ve been blessed to have. and also if you have encounters with God, which i’ve also experienced. He’s so loving and honestly i feel so much more whole now than i ever have before. for example having a husband is just a bonus …

yeah i agree with long_cow OP.. it seems like you think they were attacking you even though it was just constructive honest feedback, which is what i thought you were looking for? it might hurt to hear it at first but it would help to see it more as conviction rather than condemnation. nobody is against you here, just trying to help. best of luck to you!

dang.. see i really like that game too but i felt weird about coming back in hopes that something would transpire.. it just seemed like that was the right time. i also found out he owns the coffee shop so he’s not there every day/only comes in for a little bit.. hopefully he won’t lose interest because of me doing that 🤷🏻‍♀️

so... what if some of these things are causing the attraction to wither in the relationship? let's say, he's not fulfilling some primary masculine duties? and by bringing them up, you're really just trying to get the chemistry back to a healthy level, not "nag" him?

perhaps.. also i think its relevant to say- his dad was very abusive to him in his teen years. verbally and physically.

yeah so he was married for 10 years- to a woman he met while he was overseas in the military and they married so she could live w him in the US, this was from around ages 20-30. he initiated the divorce and they had a lot of issues apparently. he cited the root of it being that she wasn’t spiritual so they had clashing philosophies on life which led to all their other issues. dated a woman after for 2 years who stabbed him in the face which he went to jail for. says she was verbally abusive and …

so one example is he feels as though he does a lot for me and i dont give anything in return- specifically, with the situation the other night, when it happened he was pleasing me. he says i dont ever please him and its always about my comfort and pleasure etc. not that i’m denying this but the chemistry in our relationship has dwindled i believe due to how he’s been the past two years - he just has been laying around a lot, works an easy 30hr/week job, and ive been working and grinding way more…

question for you ladies- he has justified his behaviour (saying STFU, steamrolling, etc) in the past by saying that my behaviour is abusive which just elicits this out of him. does this change anything? i dont see my behaviour as abusive, perhaps neglecting my feminine responsibilities, but this is how he views it. imo, even if he was right that my behaviour is/was abusive, that shouldnt justify him retaliating with more abuse. thoughts? thanks for the responses so far.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
