Most men absolutely want to have casual sex. What planet have you been living on?

Okay, I get that. I'm more so asking why guys feel so terrible about not reaching that absurdly high standard. I think the "middle class" group of dating is shrinking. Men can be divided into three groups. Upper class - Men who can have a huge swath of attractive women relatively easily (actors, athletes, models, billionaires, celebrities) Middle class - Men who date a few women with some effort, and then eventually settle down to get married Lower class - Men who don't get any attention from wo…

What kind of perspective is this where women were perpetual victims throughout history? Women were property? Do you honestly believe this is how women were treated for all of time? The vast majority of men and women worked in a mutually beneficial way together. It wasn't "men" vs "women", it was our tribe, village, society, against groups that would want to steal and kill. For most of human history, men were required to do more difficult manual labor and act as protection, because it was their d…

If those men are sleeping with very attractive women, then the female equivalent of that guy would be a woman who is easily able to enter committed relationships with men that most other women find attractive (famous actor, musician, ect).

Because it doesn't seem like only a few people are participating in it. It seems like every woman has hookup stories and gets upset if guys care about the number of sexual partners she's had.

needed to be handsome, hard-working, fun, romantic, sweet, confident, competent, and good smelling and clean. I have all of those traits (except maybe handsome, but that's subjective) and have never been in a relationship or even been on a date. The women I know (relatives, older family friends, etc.) have said that I'll make a girl very happy someday or that if they had a daughter that they would love to have me as a son-in-law. I've been told that there's nothing I need to change about myself …

Why is exactly is a low birth rate a bad thing, again? Infinite population growth is not possible, it has to level off somewhere. Why is now wrong? Because it's not a levelling off of the populations, rather it will be a steady decline of population given current trends. Also, low birth rates are not equally distributed. There are cultures within countries that tend to be more conservative and have higher birth rates. This will result in a more restrictive world for future generations, where rig…

I have a morning routine and a nighttime routine for my face, groom, wear cologne, go to the gym, etc. but still get no women. For women, it seems that they can get men no matter how they look, but the quality of guy that they can get goes up the more effort they put into making themselves look attractive. But for guys, it's almost like running on a hamster wheel, where the amount of effort you put into your appearance doesn't meaningfully change the options you have.

If a man isn't attracted to a woman when she isn't wearing makeup, then why would would she want to be with him?
/r/PurplePillDebate25/06/23 03:27 AM

Women who become single mothers through being widowed or a justified divorce shouldn't be in the same category as the women who were never married, but decided to have a baby.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/06/23 02:55 AM

That's why having children within the structure of a marriage is so important. The marriage symbolizes the commitment each party has with the other - to stay together to support the family they are building and sexual fidelity to prevent a woman from getting pregnant from another man and the man from impregnating another woman. Sadly in the US, almost 50% of children are born out of wedlock, and it looks like it is continuing to increase. Even the term "baby momma" is becoming increasingly commo…

Men usually want to sleep with women they find attractive, but they also want to commit to one woman and spend the rest of his life with her. Committing can only come after sleeping around, because you can't sleep around after you commit to one person. However, due to the difficulty of finding women to sleep with, most men will have to sacrifice their desire to sleep with multiple women in order to satisfy their desire to commit to one woman. There is no way to determine how many sexual partners…

Speak for yourself lady, when I was 18 (and younger), I would have loved for a hot 45 or even 55 year old woman to "take advantage" of me. Hell, even now in my mid-20's, I would still want that. Would that be a serious relationships, of course not. But it would be a fun life experience to have.

This video and the guy's channel is preaching to women, 99% of the comments in that video are from women. His argument for not only choosing an "age-appropriate partner", but also conditioning your body to not find younger women attractive to be "pro-social" is crazy. Do you know what else is pro-social? A type of arranged marriage system like in India, which makes women marry men chosen by their parents or community on the basis of stability and income, rather than what she finds attractive. Th…

Does this perspective not lend credence to the idea that women have the luxury of selecting for compatibility in addition to looks and other traits on dating apps? Whereas men only get to choose for looks, and even that metric is far more lenient than women's. On dating apps, men tend to have to sacrifice on most traits in order to get matches in the first place. Their female equivalent is ironically out of their league.

If it was something they did in the past, but didn't want to continue, surely it is still acceptable for a person to not want to date them due to those past actions?

Is it regressive to not want to date a woman who engaged in extreme sexual fetishes in her past? Such as gangbangs, scat play, abdl, furries, etc.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/06/23 07:22 PM

The ideal world would be one where all men and women have the opportunity to date and sleep with an abundance of partners when young. These interactions would be consensual, enjoyable, allow for positive personal growth, and without any shame, STDs or pregnancies. They would date until they reach a point where they choose one monogamous partner to raise children and spend the rest of their lives with. The partner they choose would align with their life goals and values. Unfortunately, life doesn…

I don't think you understand what he said. If men had the same options as women, they would sleep with the hot, popular girl and the dorky, socially awkward plain-Jane. This plays out in real life with attractive men sleeping with women who are less attractive, but the same can't be said for women. So no, the scenario doesn't play out the exact same.

My lower limit is 26 these days. That's far too young. A 26 year old was not even in middle school when you graduated from college. The youngest you should be dating as a 36 year old are people who are 32. I don't even know what you would have in common with someone younger than that other than them being easier to manipulate.

The insecurity isn't about the woman though. It's about the man who didn't need to have to have any traits, except being good looking, for her to hookup with him. For a lot of guys, they will never be hot enough to get that kind of reaction from a woman. They would have to do things in addition to whatever they look like: spending time, money, and energy on a girl to get her to desire him. So the relationship guy already had to have a bunch of other positive qualities to be considered, which a l…

A more apt way of describing male sexuality is that "just physical features are sufficient to arouse men". That doesn't mean men aren't aroused by non-physical features, but that if they see a woman that they find physically attractive, that's enough for them to be willing to sleep her.

There's a disconnect between how men and women view attractiveness. From a male perspective, the things that matter for physical attractiveness are face with no makeup, body, and cleanliness. If that's the metric that men judge from, then it makes sense as to why more women see couples where they perceive the woman as "hotter". And sure, even from the male perspective, there are plenty of couples where the woman is more attractive. However, there are also plenty of couples where the man is more …

If you knew enough about science, you would know that we understand very little about the brain. MRI's allow us to make correlations, but no serious scientist would say that they know exactly what the prefrontal cortex does and how it develops. It's okay to have that opinion, but I disagree. The prefrontal cortex meme is overplayed and filled with misinformation. The brain continues to develop throughout our lifetime, and we don't understand the brain enough to make sweeping generalizations about how society should be structured. Even life experiences vary tremendously from person to person, culture to culture. It would be disingenuous of you to state that a 25 year old dating a 18 year old is not okay, but a Brazilian from a wealthy b…

Which topics are tied to age? Music, film, art, history, science, pop culture, literature, food, philosophy, outdoors, etc. are things anyone at any age can enjoy and talk about with others. My interests in my mid 20s and late teens aren't all that different, because they're not based on age. They're based on what I enjoy.

I'm 26, and I'd say 18-29 is the most attractive. However, a woman who takes care of herself can look better in her 30s than many women in their 20s. An unhealthy diet, poor sleep, lack of exercise, excessive alcohol/smoking, sun damage, and stress ages both men and women. The effects of that lifestyle can be more seen as you get older.

Right, and I agree that adult men shouldn't be hitting on underage girls. My perspective is that the message that is out there is that women get hit on so much, even since they were young, that they wish they could just be left alone. So men who don't want to make women uncomfortable leave women alone. And then the only appropriate places to hit on women is on dating apps or at parties/clubs/bars.

To be honest, I don't know either. But I see women talking about how men starting hitting on them when they were 12 ,and they wish they would just be left alone. I think most guys who don't want to make a woman feel uncomfortable hear that, and it influences their behavior. I don’t know why we don’t teach our boys to ask out girls anymore. There were barely any couples around me growing up, yet there was a ton of really pretty girls. Boys don’t chase anymore and they don’t ask anymore. But it is needed to form couples! As someone who was a teenager not that long ago and never pursued girls beyond asking them out to prom, I think that one reason is changing social dynamics. Society taught me that girls get asked out so much that they're sick of it, so if a girl like…

Tbh social media and women sharing their experiences opened my eyes to how much of a shmuck I would be to just settle down and have a stable life with a woman as a stable, reliable guy. I would never know if she was the type who wanted to have fun and sleep around with a bunch of guys who act shitty. And the fact that caring about a woman's body count is a social faux pas means that rather than caring about her past, I should work on becoming the guy who sleeps with a bunch of women.

Yeah, it's not really an issue that around 40% of seniors are regularly lonely. Just handwave away the socially-isolated seniors who don't have kids or grandkids to visit them. If you are trying to get into a relationship out of a fear of spending your golden years alone, that's the wrong reason to get into a relationship. Nobody wants to date someone long-term who simply fears being single and isn't interested in them in a holistic way. That's not "the" reason to get married, but it is a reason…

Women were bought and sold as property through most of human civilization. Women's choice in who they marry and reproduce with is a relatively short blimp in human history. You need to learn more history, you are woefully undereducated on this topic. Women, for only being a woman, have not been sold as property for most of human civilization, that is absolutely a lie. However, slavery has existed in human history, and both men and women were sold as slaves. This isn't some Handmaid's Tale type o…

I think you're referring to this post of yours. I have a love/hate relationship with the "men do romance" comment. I liked it initially because it outlined a lot of things that I don't think people think about it, but it was so quickly co-opted into the typical "women are completely passive in relationships," which isn't true at all. (continued...) I would define "active" as actions that progress a relationship or work towards building rapport with a specific person and "passive" as behaviors th…

It seems you're trying to draw a parallel here for sake of construing these two behaviors as equal? "Women getting dolled up and flirty = Men planning dates" And the intention of both of these behaviors is to receive attention from the opposite sex. Let's say it's to receive attention from a specific person that the behavior is targeted towards. Can you see how one behavior is far more passive than the other?
/r/PurplePillDebate04/03/23 04:53 PM

Getting dolled up and being flirty is meant to entertain men. No, women do it so they receive attention for men, not to entertain them for nothing in return. They do it because they can feel desirable and desired, and there's nothing wrong with that.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/03/23 04:43 PM

I said relationships, not romance and sex. There is far more to a relationship than that. But even then, to forgo romance or sex in one's life would make it far lesser and duller. When I say "the best part of life", I am referring to building a life together with another person, having someone you can rely on and that relies on you, creates children with you, is the person who has decided to spend their short existence with you. Few things in life can compare to that. The closest would be lifelo…

OP, the women that you can get with those "skills" are not worth getting. Those women are damaged and have emotional issues, and a guy who was in a healthy LTR is better off avoiding those types of women. Women who are healthy don't date "players" , because they're not drawn to the emotional rollercoaster that those types of men provide for women who enjoy drama.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/03/23 07:24 PM

OP, I'm sorry, but this is a dumb take. Relationships don't appear out of thin air, and they are the best part of life. No, intimacy is the most important aspect of a relationship. Sex is usually part of intimacy, but intimacy is not relegated to physical acts. There's also emotional intimacy and the intimacy of sharing your life with someone.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/02/23 04:53 AM

No, most men don't get to learn all their likes and dislikes, because they don't have the same ease of finding partners that women do to establish that in the first place. You make a good point though, men shouldn't get married or enter a long term relationship until they have discovered their likes and dislikes in a partner, which you can only learn after having numerous partners.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/02/23 05:00 AM

If women are out there trying to find a real connection, then why do they get upset at men for not wanting to be with girl who has a high bodycount? The women who are seeking real connections wouldn't have a high bodycount to begin with.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/02/23 04:39 AM

The relationship would change, because their view of their partner would change. It shows that their partner's standards may not come from a place of principled values, but from one of convenience. And this perspective not new, it's been around for as long as society has been around. Most people want to be with those that share their values, not "friends of fair weather".
/r/PurplePillDebate16/02/23 04:35 AM
1

If a partner is chosen based on new standards, that partner has a right to know what the old standards were. The reason is that it could influence whether or not they choose to move forward in a relationship with that person. And if they choose not to, then changed standards and unchanged standards are not the same thing, because they can lead to different outcomes.

If that is how a person determined partners throughout their life, that's fine. But changing the qualities that they look for once they want to settle down is not acceptable.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/02/23 12:45 AM

Can you understand how a man would feel if a woman chose him because of friendship, vs the men she chose in the past due to desire. If a man has never been the object of desire to a woman, but only chosen because of friendship qualities, he would feel like a consolation prize. It's like if a man chose a woman to be his wife because she would be a good mom and housewife. He doesn't physically desire her, but she fulfills his needs.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/02/23 07:10 PM
1

So in general, men can look at an woman and if she is attractive, he desires her. Whereas, if women look at an a man, he not only has to be attractive, but also confident, charismatic, funny, etc. for her to desire him.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/02/23 07:06 PM

If most men are objectively unattractive, then women shouldn't date them. Women should only date men they find attractive, and it that means less relationships, so be it.

if men dont want the DAD treatment and role THEN YOU HAVE TO BECOME THE CAD, its not WOMENS fault youre a DAD Isn't this the complaint of a lot of young women looking for a relationship? The men that would have made good long term relationships in an earlier era are now mostly looking to play the field and hookup with as many women as they can? They've adapted their behavior to be the type of guy that isn't looking for anything serious, which is to the detriment of women who are.

Here's my take coming from a guy's perspective. Society makes me feel that one's value as a man comes from one's utility, and a man that can't contribute is worse than useless. At least there's some innate biological urge men have to protect a random woman who doesn't do anything useful. But a useless man? That's someone that has to go. How useful are you to those around you? As a provider, as a protector, or even as a meat-shield. You walk on the side of the sidewalk closest to the road, you st…

Here's a movie from almost 70 years ago about a guy talking about how all girls reject him and that he will likely never get married. Men feeling bad about not being attractive to women has occurred for the entirety of humanity's past. Your perspective of history is incomplete. People have been marrying for love for far longer than your brief lifetime. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ktXm7CRXbsE

Your mistake is assuming men and women view the world in the same way. You're projecting a women's perspective on to men, and it does not match men's experiences. As someone who was a teenage boy not too long ago, if a woman I found attractive wanted to sleep with men, I would have jumped at the opportunity regardless of age. A 14 year old boy sleeping with a 21 year old girl is a very different situation than a 14 year old girl sleeping with a 21 year old guy. In the name of "equality" these tw…

Most people already intellectually know there could be a myriad of reasons for the rejection. The person who replied is explaining how it feels when a girl rejects you. It makes you feel worthless at that moment, especially if you don't approach women often.

Life your friend, I've volunteered at a retirement home when I was a teenager. The women there are flirty in a funny way for older people. Same with being hit on by gay guys. I don't think it's a big deal for most guys to be hit on by people they're not attracted to, as opposed to women who are more likely to be concerned for their safety.

There's a big difference between getting attention from retirees and women in their 40's/50s. Young guys would enjoy the attention from the latter group for the most part.

I suppose I should say that there are no innate human rights, just those that are socially constructed. What we choose to protect is arbitrary and based on norms of the time and place. I don't think guaranteed sex should be a human right, but there are some strange customs in history. One tale is that of ancient Babylon where women of all classes were required to visit the Temple of Aphrodite at a certain age and have sex with the first man that gave her some money. If she never received any mon…

Here's one perspective. Monogamy requires never having another sexual partner again. For a woman who has had enough sexual partner novelty in her lifetime, that seems fine. However, a man may not be satisfied with the number of sexual partners he has had and will be sacrificing sexual partner novelty for a relationship with a woman. If that sacrifice seems too great, he will experience negative feelings. For example, if a woman has had twelve sexual partners and a man has had three, he might not…

/r/PurplePillDebate12/11/22 05:41 PM

I don't understand your perspective. My post was a birds-eye depiction of society, and how societal norms to give men advice for dating women has changed over time. There isn't a conservative outlook on dating or progressive outlook on dating. There's just dating and those that participate in that activity.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/11/22 05:31 PM

That's a strange question to ask. What does that have to do with my post?

I don't think it's usually dating advice. It's when a boy is praised in some way for their behavior. "You'll make a girl very happy some day", "A well-behaved gentleman", "All the girls will be fighting over you." These types of phrases are usually said to boys that do things that are nice, thoughtful, well-mannered, etc. I also think the "parent" is more of a proxy for society, and this type of encouragement by society for how to be attractive to women was more prevalent in the past. True, but that's still tied to shame. For example, guy who wears shoe lifts and tries to hide that fact doesn't want to be excluded for his height. Or a guy who is a virgin, but doesn't tell a prospective partner about it, but that situation is a bit different than lying about promiscuity. All in all, I think hiding and lying about things leads to shame from within.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/10/22 09:26 PM

Yes, I think this is mostly true, but the issue arises when those that weren't promiscuous having to potentially have monogamous relationships with those that were promiscuous. If no one lies about their past, I don't think people would have problems though. The lying comes from a desire to not be shamed, and I think if shaming was removed and people were truthful, a lot of issues would go away.

There are several men and women here who take an all or nothing perspective. Even in this post, there are women saying that no man is interested in women's sexual pleasure, or that there are no men interested in women beyond her body. Like the men who say women are only interested in his money, or that women are always looking for the next best thing. It's tiring and doesn't provide any value to the discussion.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/10/22 07:00 PM

I agree with you. However, my response is in regards to most men's feelings of promiscuous behavior, rather than rationality. The status of the men a woman sleeps with matters to men, but not as much as the number. They could have all been millionaire models before him, but if he considers the number previous sexual partners too high, he won't feel like committing to a long term monogamous relationship with that woman.

Really doesn’t matter because we don’t live in small tribes Our bodies don't know that. The same hormones and neurological processes that developed in our ancestors are still in us today. It's not rational, just a deep innate feeling, and women don't seem to have that feeling to the same degree. We can go against our nature, but how many people are going to do that? The human body has not adjusted to a globalized world. Our evolution took place in small tribes of a few hundred people. That is the context in which human sexuality evolved, so the emotions that men have when hearing that a prospective partner has had several sexual partners before him is being experienced in a human body that does not take into account the vastness of the modern social landscape.
