I like it - if you can't just walk on, comfortable in the fact that it's no big deal, then this is the way to play it out.

It’s never okay to remind me of this.

Someone smiling at you means nothing whatsoever - it’s the polite thing to do when making eye contact with someone. I understand the points made on this forum most of the time, and it’s definitely going towards helping me become a better, more confident person. In this case though, I really think you’re looking to make something out of nothing.

Happens surprisingly often on this subreddit these days.

I mean, frankly, it doesn’t sound like you’re qualified to make videos on the subject.

"From a young age we were told society owes us nothing and yet were expected to sacrifice ourselves for it." That's pretty deep, man. I agree wholeheartedly, I've not been able to just say "fuck it" and stop there, but I've slowly been changing over the past few years. Each one just gets better and better.

If she's really interested she shouldn't need a prod to resume talking, in my mind. She would likely check your conversation if she hadn't heard back from you for a while and realise she had missed your message or forgotten to send it. Like C0mmando said though, texting is a terrible way to get to know anyone because it lacks any build up of a connection. Use it to arrange an in-person meet up as soon as possible instead.

I don't think this would work as well over text, especially if she's not spoke to him for a few months. If you're going for something like that it's better in person so she can see he's saying it confidently and not just being a creep.

Props to you, man. I know in the past I might have convinced myself it was fine so that I could still see her and then spent the day jealously watching them hit it off!

Just don't buddy, been there and done that. Especially as you're saying you only want a one night stand, why not have that with someone new who doesn't come with a heap of baggage.

I would bail. If this girl were really interested in you she sure as hell wouldn't be trying to bring her 'crush' along, especially when there was originally a prospect of it being just the two of you.

Thanks, Mom!

Has anyone el- ah, yes, they noticed it to. Just checking. The video really is pretty odd, it could be Leonardo Di Caprio doing it and it'd still be pretty cringy just in it's delivery and what he's talking about. "I had wild sex, romps in Vegas..."

Not being funny but is there any chance she originally thought you were someone else? This would explain how forward she was and her sudden surprise.

I understand how it could come off as a bit creepy, but if you said "I'm afraid I have all my valuables in my car, but you're welcome to leave yours in there too if you'd like." it is left completely up to her, you're not pressuring her at all.

Just brush it off; gently laugh and, with a cheeky smirk, say "your loss..."

You're not alone pal - the majority of people here have been in that exact same place but with a bit of work you'll be out of there in no time.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
