I’ve also noticed I get downvoted for opening what I feel to be meaningful dialogue, so maybe this isn’t the sub I thought it was. 🙄

Chivalry being what’s dogshit, not the answer. I kind of thought that was obvious, but maybe no?

Well chivalry is dogshit and I hate it. Good to know.

I literally had some “Fellow Female™️” tag into my post the other day saying the same exact thing. Glad I’m not the only one that’s been branded a criminal. I’ll be Louise if you’ll be Thelma.

People that cheat are repugnant. As far as I see it, if you’re unhappy? Break it off. Don’t be a user.

I think a good bit of this depends on where you live. A lot of people in California are just straight up rude, regardless of gender.

lol I think you’re massively misunderstanding the point of this thread, and reading things that weren’t said. I’ve worked with a lot of the women I’m referring to, I’m speaking on things I’ve seen firsthand. People in my part of California are generally repulsive, not just women. I have resentment toward the unfair sexist shit my coworkers have had to deal with, not my own gender. Put the pitchfork down.

I’m not going to ruin the man’s family dynamic and put him on blast, especially not over what could very well be a misunderstanding. Even if I’m right and he IS trying to get in my pants, I’ll give him a fair chance to straighten up. He would at least deserve that. I’m not blameless, my lukewarm rejections likely fostered this situation. It’s something I’m going to use my work resources to resolve for me though, if it becomes an issue, not something I’d start a witch hunt over. A lot of the girl…

An HR department would do wonders for my company. Right now everything gets pushed to the owner’s harpy of a wife, who then promptly ignores issues unless it’s a woman that’s being mistreated. It’s Human Resources in name only. We have a management company taking over soon, so hopefully we get an Ombudsman or HR rep or something. As much as I enjoy letting people hang out and vent, they would be significantly more helpful than I am. It really sucks when I talk to a guy in his 20s, ask how he’s d…

He’s a coworker, not a subordinate. I’ve managed teams before, and I’ve never really had this issue before. I wouldn’t have kept such an open door policy if that were the case. That said, I opened that door, both literally and figuratively. I think just being transparent and honest is going to be the way to go.

I don’t think it’s fair to say that he views me as “masturbation fodder,” or to villainize him. I’m also not saying that you’re villainizing him, but I’m really trying to come at this from an objective point of view, to resolve this while not compromising my support of him. As far as I know right now, it may just be him being awkward, and not him pushing for something more. This is all based off of gut feelings right now, and I’m just trying to plan my next steps.

Yeah, it wasn’t really my intention to say I’m suddenly not supportive of men’s rights because of one awkward workplace relationship lol. I appreciate the advice though, I honestly didn’t know what to expect from this sub 🙏🏻

That’s upsetting. I grew up around men and saw some of the injustice guys have to deal with via proxy. Nobody deserves to be so emotionally isolated, or to face the stigma that speaking out makes you weak. There are plenty of people nearby my office, so I’m not worried about my safety or anything like that. There’s also a pretty big dude down the hall that would come running if there was trouble for some reason, lol. Yeah, I think I know how I’m going to deal with things if it happens again. I w…

I mentioned my appearance only to point out that I don’t really stand out for my looks or anything. No makeup, no revealing or eye grabbing clothing, nothing like that. It’s just odd that he’s only JUST changing his attitude. I can’t think of any specific reason why he would. Guess it’s a moot point though. Also, tanks and missiles are admittedly rad, they don’t give two shits about gender or social status.

Suppose that isn’t really fair to either of us, otherwise. I have no problems putting people in their place, I guess it’s just unexpected coming from him. I think you’re right though, this isn’t really the time to be lukewarm.

Yeah, that’s probably the best play. I know myself well enough to know I’m probably not being firm enough, so I think I’m going to plan how I’ll bring it up to him if it happens again. I just have a hard time determining just how firm I need to be. I’m just thankful that this is like the second time in my life this has happened, lol. Most guys have been pretty alright 🤙🏻

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
