That’s really good feedback. Thank you for taking the time to put this together. I have a lot to figure out.

Yeah man, I had to stop thinking about it because it’s depressing. Only positive is in the summer time I’ll have them for half the summer consecutively..

Developed a heart arrhythmia AFIB the last couple years of our marriage before I ended up leaving her and filing for divorce. Ended up having a surgery a few months ago. I was so stressed out in that marriage. Litigation has been very high conflict of life has gotten better. Take care of yourself man.

Choose your pain. Grind it out for the next 30+ years or walk and start over. You’re a military guy, so you understand pain and sacrifice. If you walk, view it as your new challenge, your new orders and be prepared for war. The war inside your own mind, because you’re going to get k*lled by the government and the lawyers. All the best soldier.

Similar situation man, sorry you’re at this point. But life can get better. Did for me once I decided to leave. Almost 11 years married, kids, houses… I had to be willing to “lose it all”. Only regret is that I didn’t do it 10 years sooner, knew I married wrong after year one.

Yeah all that cake 🎂 can’t make up for the unbearable attitude issues. No thank you. Peace is what we need.

Yup. Many men have fallen victim. I was young and didn’t want to listen to older wiser family who told me so…thankfully I got out but not in time. Over a decade. Now I’m stuck with spousal and child support for a long long time. But at least I’m non longer under her Wild abuse.

Yup. Get out. Itll only get worse and your internal frustration, regret and lack of purpose will grow. Time for a new chapter!

Got chased around the house with a knife a few times and swung on over the course of a decade…all for her to act normal the following day. Been there done that. Filed last year never looking back.

sounds like a bitter woman. Dealing with similar man. Keep your cool. How old are the kids? She’s likely scared you’ll “win their hearts” over time and she’ll lose them. Sounds very controlling and emotionally abusive if you ask me.

Well said…it’s rare for people to care or understand men who face this type of abuse. Glad you got out. Stay no contact and start to heal man.

Yeah, I’m strongly considering counseling in the new year. It’s crazy to think back about things that I’ve had to endure. Glad you got out!

Glad you got out. It’s brutal. Depressing and no way to live.

Spot on! False Accusations has been her card of choice. I had to go no contact and get a monitored parenting app in place for all communications.

Man I’m sorry to hear this. Sounds like we married the exact same type of woman. BY FAR… the most challenging thing I’ve had to face. Scary part is almost 10 months later into the divorce process and her doubling down on this type of behavior and trying to ruin my reputation amongst friends and family she is still telling me to stop the process and come back 😵‍💫🫨 You’re a strong man to have dealt with it. Now you have to be willing to endure and “pay whatever price” it takes to get out of the ab…

Get a bulldog of a lawyer. DONT BE CHEAP. retrainer will run you between 7-10k. Interview 4-5 different ones. They usually offer free or up to $100 consultations. Have questions ready and maybe send them a basic document prior to your meeting of all assets and debts and both your incomes.

GET OUT.
/r/Divorce_Men11/11/24 12:22 AM

Tough. Going through it now. I’m adamant about the kids schedule not conflicting with my parenting time. Hopefully I don’t get hit with the same thing. It’s their way to control and further drain our resources for the sake of “the kids”
/r/Divorce_Men08/11/24 01:30 AM
2

Go no contact. Get a parenting app approved by the courts so everything is documented. It’ll die down with time. Mine went kicking in screaming 24/7 for the first 7 months with lies, gaslighting and fear tactics to get me back. Made me double down harder.
/r/Divorce_Men07/11/24 11:24 PM

Dude. Did we marry the same woman?! 🤯 almost 11 years here. I had to walk and she’s done nothing but double down on her verbal abuse and created a smear campaign. Turned my children against me. You know what you need to do…she’s not going to change. Stay and you’ll di* early from stress or want to di*. Leave and your reputation amongst your old community is over but you’ll find peace. Count the costs. Listen to this guy too. He wrote a helpful book/guide on how to leave these type of women. http…

Haven’t gone. Know some folks that have. They enjoyed it and got some benefits from it. However, seems like if you don’t develop good habits/practices moving forward your issues will resurface. This is a long battle we’re facing. I’m too deep on legal fees and cc/ss payments to afford anything. Good old fashion Bible, Prayer, working out, rebuilding my support system that was lost during the marriage and some Goggins motivation is my current stack 💊💊💊. All the best bud.

Brother…if you have over 7 figures in investments and she doesn’t work…you’re getting taken to the cleaners for life. How long were you married and how many kids?
/r/Divorce_Men27/10/24 02:28 AM
1

Half of everything. 3 kids I would say you’re going to be closer to 50-60% of your money going towards cc/sc. can always make more money down the road. Peace you can’t buy.

/r/Divorce_Men23/10/24 11:51 PM

The decision is simple. Either stay and try to work on it, things may improve or you may die early from stress. Or leave and no longer be making bank because you’re going to lose 60%.

Dam dude. Similar boat but I’ve got 3…in the midst of mediation regarding child custody/parenting time. Have a temporary child support and spousal support in place I’m getting hammered at 60% but expected it. Researching lawyers now.

I know it’s difficult but you will get through this. Listen to this post when you get time. This guy suffered through similar!! And he communicates it well. Lots of videos on his channel about it. If you’re truly fed up, you won’t care about the money you won’t care about the shame or the guilt…you’ll be willing to endure whatever it takes to leave that abuser behind. Stay strong brother and thanks for sharing. https://youtu.be/GEve54NuIA8?si=DDqUEx35cDxtQ4we

A lot of similarities. Thanks for sharing man, brutal but you made it! Hoping that’s my ending as well; it’s been rough these past few months.

Yup. Over a decade of basically dealing with an angry man in a woman’s body is how I sum it up. Brutal.
/r/Divorce_Men05/07/24 07:05 PM

Agree. I wish mine would ignore me lol, that would be bareable. My experience has been the opposite. The rage and bursts of anger I’ve never experienced are definitely abuse.

Hard road man. 10.5 here with 3 kids. But I didn’t want to wait until year 20 to do it, felt unfair to her and I. Hardest thing I’ve had to do. Worse part is she hasn’t accepted it even after a few months of being told. Currently still trying to get her served. I’m in the thick of the storm, it gets rough. Once your mind in set you’ve got to just do it.

Stack cash and wait for the dust to settle with the market. Wouldn’t rush into anything just stay flexible and rent wherever you can afford…I’m renting crappy rooms currently via Airbnb, beats sleeping in my car and definitely beats staying at the corner of the attic in my old 4b/4b house to avoid my stbxw….house that I’m still paying for too 🤦‍♂️
/r/Divorce_Men30/06/24 11:33 PM

How did things end up? I’m in the same boat only a few weeks into her dodging though. It’s brutal man.

Get another job, start earning more money. Interview maybe 3-4 lawyers and hire them. Get ready for war brother, you’re built for this. Don’t let her wear you down any longer.

Go on a road trip man, go to church, hit the gym, travel abroad (passport bros style), go on an ayahuasca retreat , reinvent yourself. Don’t let her win bro. Your child needs there father and there are millions of women out there. Hang in there, it will get better.

Wow. Thought I was the only one. After year one it began. Been a nightmare since. Recently she cut our kids off from my mother. Such controlling behavior given my mother is literally the kindest soul I know.

Any kids? Might not be a bad move to go overseas…otherwise you’re cooked financially which is fine if you’re willing to accept your new life.

Man that’s rough. Play the long game like others said. In this case it truly is better to turn the other cheek. Focus on yourself and improving yourself! Everything else will come around with time.

Nah man. Divorce and be done, move on with your lives. This sounds ridiculous and is just delaying things $$$.
/r/Divorce_Men08/05/24 06:41 AM

Mind explaining why you don’t leave the house? I’m approaching this process as well. I’m assuming you mean stay until the divorce is final?
/r/Divorce_Men03/05/24 06:14 AM

Man get out early if it’s that bad. Do it for the both of you. Don’t wait. Biggest mistake I made was hoping things would improve. It’s gotten worse with time!!

10 years of hell bro. I’ve lost friends and family relationships have been hard due to the unpredictable nature of my wife. To sum it up she finds faults in everyone and everything but herself. And the pressure she’s put on me has lead to serious depression and anxiety that I never experienced prior to marrying. I’m at my breaking point and have no choice but to walk away. I’m ready for the shame and pain that comes with it.
/r/Divorce_Men02/05/24 05:44 AM

Natural feeling man. As men we look like the scumbag by filing and leaving our family’s. But it’s either now or stick it out and divorce at 60 when you’re one foot out the grave.
/r/Divorce_Men26/04/24 10:41 PM
2

It takes time to build that courage. You have to block out the noise and consider is the risk of staying worse than the risk of leaving. Similar situation but I’ve lost all care of the backlash from family and friends. Go no contact and start fresh.
/r/Divorce_Men26/04/24 10:24 PM

Not too far behind you, married for 11. Got cold feet when preparing to file at 9.5 and looking back probably should’ve. But I’m in California and planning on this as well. Been in a nightmare the past decade with a very mentally/verbally abuse wife. I know I’m going to get taken to the shed financially. But mentally can’t handle the madness anymore and how’s it’s affecting everyone. I’ve lost family and friendships over her behavior and my health has going to sht. Made it up in my mind I’m like…
/r/Divorce_Men07/04/24 06:27 AM

Same here. 9 years. 2 kids and a house. Have an appointment Monday with my lawyer. Hoping to cut a deal with her on the alimony. Might just let her keep the house. Otherwise I’ll be paying for the next 4.5 years.
