This whole situation sucks, and it's tough to put into words. What I'd suggest is to embrace those initial feelings of missing the person, your old life, and everything familiar. If you haven't already, consider seeking therapy bro, it can be incredibly helpful. Take some time to jot down a list of things you've always wanted to do but never had the chance. Go ahead and do some of those things! Make new friends and join some groups, even if it's a full-contact badminton league. In a few months, …

I appreciate this so much bro, it's like being a blender. Especially when you're trying to do the right thing, but the other person is operating out of emotions instead of logic.

Jesus Christ, I didn't know CS went to that extent to make your life hell lol. I appreciate all you gentleman, this has been a crazy ride so far and we still have to file for divorce in October. Just having an idea of what I'm up against gives me a little bit of clarity. Thanks fellas!!

I totally fucked up and I know it. I've never been divorced before and I wasn't thinking straight. Long story short, we agreed on what she needs financially for the kids before I moved out. So I did pay her monthly with out it being court ordered. Now she's upset and thinks I have income coming it. So now she's filing for CS today.

I think every situation is different. Right now, in my opinion, you're not in an emotional place to be her best friend. You're starting a new chapter and a new relationship, in theory. Treat it as such; be honest with yourself first, and then be honest with her. State that you're not emotionally ready to be friends this quickly. Tell her, "Can we take a step back and try to figure out what our future looks like?" You still have to be cordial because you guys have kids. This doesn't immediately s…

If you're thinking about exploring, you have already started the process of leaving. I'm not judging because life is short, man. Never stay just because it's "the right thing to do." Do it because your situation lights you up and you feel mentally and physically stimulated.

I'm going through the same exact thing. My wife became disinterested in the relationship and said I was too focused on us instead of the kids. The only thing I can suggest to everyone is, don't waste time trying to figure out what she's thinking. Like my therapist said, you have to stop thinking about who the person was and start accepting who she is. If she said it's over, she probably knew that months prior to telling you. If they cheat, the relationship was probably over 2 years prior to her …

🤣🤣 I say do it man. Sometimes we're in relationships where the passion and sex die before the end. Full disclosure: the thoughts and views expressed online are mine and mine alone. We think that because we are men, we don't feel the need to be desired and wanted. That sometimes plays into self-worth. And before the trolls jump up and say that's not the only reason you should value yourself, we all want to be desired in some way. I say this to say, sometimes being in the field and having women st…

Mental-Con you're a savage 🤣🤣🤣. You're right though, I gain so much head space back being alone. Getting hobbies, therapist and "Friends" are the way to go.

My father brought me up with a strong military-style upbringing. I was expected to follow orders without questioning them, and my father instilled in me the belief that I should never make excuses for my actions. My feelings and struggles were never taken into account, and growing up in a rough neighborhood exposed me to a lot of harsh realities at a young age. When it came to relationships, I ended up with a woman who didn't value men very much. According to her, men were only good for providin…

As a man who experienced co-dependency and divorce, I can confidently say that the best gift you can give yourself is to address the root cause of your trauma. Once I discovered why I was seeking my wife's approval and how it was linked to issues I had with my father, I was able to move forward on a better path. I understand that this is easier said than done, but it is crucial to put in the work, not just for yourself, but for the sake of your children. I attend therapy to break the cycle of ge…

Damn, well 've,be been paying for months. I do have the cash app recipets. She's threatening to counter sue if I go to court. I think she's betting on the fact that I don't have money for a divorce lawyer so she's sending threatening texts.

So would you think it would be worth to go to court and place your self under child support. So that you can have a record of payments?

Man, thank you for all this information. When you're going through it, your mind is divided between doing the right thing and making sure you're protected. I'm reading all the responses, and I'm kicking myself because I should have reached out earlier because everyone is giving solid advice with actionable items.
