Wife got servedYeah one of the toughest days. As others have said, just repeat to yourself why you’re doing this, that her behavior won’t change, and you’ve reached your last resort. When you know, you know. I chose to leave and stay in a hotel for a couple nights as she has a temper. Distance for a bit helps, regardless of her reaction to it | /r/Divorce_Men | 20/11/20 07:48 AM
Working full time and child care for single dadsSame boat, I haven’t filed yet but been calculating the costs of using a sitter from care.com 11 weekdays per month. Assume school pickup + 3-6 hours/day to watch them until you get home. Adjust other living expenses accordingly... | /r/Divorce_Men | 17/03/19 03:51 AM
What can you do?Much appreciated, OP! Were you able to get 50/50 custody and what you believe to be a “fair” financial support arrangement? Why 35 months (Ugh)? Thanks again! | /r/Divorce_Men | 12/03/19 06:41 AM
Going back for 50%. Wish me luck! What a pain in the ass to document... but I guess that’s what you have to do... sad. Just to get equitable treatment. I’m planning to go for 50% out of the gate when I file.... we shall see [California]. Work/travel schedule may confound that effort but if granted I will make it happen. | /r/Divorce_Men | 22/02/19 01:19 AM
Seems like once a month she says she’s doneMy experience is that it keeps getting worse and we—as men—stay steadfast until it literally starts affecting our own health/mental/emotional stability.... then self-preservation kicks in and (for the sake of our kids) and we plan our exit.... That’s what happened to me this year after 8 years of “being patient”.... and “hoping it passes...”. My $0.02.... | /r/Divorce_Men | 30/10/18 09:27 AM
Divorce Red Team ProcessIf you were single (with whatever other baggage you'd have from the divorce) would you choose to step into your current marriage? Now that is the magic fucking question! Great lens to use... I bet very few is us questioning whether we should file or not would say YES. | /r/Divorce_Men | 24/10/18 06:41 AM
Here I am again at a bar killing time to go home, hopefully shes asleep when I get home. I come here after a long day at work to kill time, I cant stand going home and interacting with her. Shes terrible. All we do is argue. I hate my home life. I want out!I did that a couple nights a week (off and on) for the last 7 years (of a 16 yr marriage)... plus just staying at the office late to further avoid conflict. Eventually, my absence just brewed even more resentment and arguments. It was a bandaid but it worked for awhile to keep me sane. Then last spring our company was bought out and I was laid off along with other members of the exec team... very much expected and standard operating procedure in this kind of buyout. I got a generous severance an… | /r/Divorce_Men | 20/10/18 06:24 AM
Wife very difficult to along with, thinking of the DDude, this sounds JUST like my situation here in California (except my wife hasn’t worked at all since our first child, 14 years ago). I mean EXACTLY. Same dynamic of Cleavers on my side and broken home on hers (but her parents remained hetero.... :). She also calls me narcissistic every other day and is verbally abusive in spite of the pot calling the kettle black. I make s really comfortable living as an mid-level exec but some how I transform into a HUGE dumbshit asshole as soon as I walk in … | /r/Divorce_Men | 04/10/18 05:36 AM
