This!! I was thinking of the next 5 to 10 years. Ex was only thinking in the now. Got the house 50/50 custody. Everything else was just an added bonus. Only spent about 3k.

Depending on the kids ages have them help set up the house. Even furniture shopping and getting everyday items. This will help make them feel that you are buying stuff for all of you not just yourself.

I had this is issue but it was my STBXW that had the 1099 we did 50/50. But had roles been reversed I’m not sure she would have been so willing to do 50/50. We both have lawyers as well.

As long as you two can talk and work it out it should not take that long at all. We have a house, 3 vehicle loans, 403b, And Credit cards in consalidation. She told me she was done at the start of Oct 2022 and I just signed the final agrement papers last week. Court date is set for next month.

I filed fast and hard. I don’t want this to drag out so hoping for a quick back and forth for an agreement. I want 50/50 and complete separation of assets. She said she can’t by the house so I’m looking to do that if not I have a back up plan already in place. I will not go with out my kids. I put a camera up and record our conversation to avoid this. She was mad and calmly talked to me about it so I stoped the cameras she still has yet to come out of the bedroom for any time with her kids. But …

Fight!! I moved out for about three weeks and came right back home and said I could not agree to the dissolution as I need separation of all assets. Now we go to court Wednesday as she tries to kick me out. My kids want me to stay I hope I get too. Edit: By fight I mean keep fighting for your kids they will see that. Be the dad they need. And don’t give up. We are all here for you.

Yeah rent will be hard. The last three bedroom to pop up was taken two months before the tenant was out lol. I live in a small village. May just have to open enroll the kids and stick to the current plan of renting In the next city over.

Yeah I know she can’t refinance it. So this is her plan to force the sale. I already have a full set of backup plans ready and waiting no mater how this plays out. Im planning for the worse hoping for the best. As for the school district that is a good idea as I could then buy another property in the school district.

She already filed a pre trial. She has ppl telling her the judge will force the sale of the home even when the kids want to stay and I can afford it. So I guess we’ll find out. I’m mentally prepared for a long expensive fight. Just don’t want one.

Yeah her friends are not helping her right now. All I want is 50/50 and no shared assets. I can buy the house so I want it but if she can throw out an offer and takes it so be it.
