It is still discriminatory but I think they come at it from the physical aspect of giving a birth. It takes a toll on the body and so it would not be fair for a husband who has not had a baby squeezed through his vagina to nab all the paid leave. It is cool but one of the reasons it was introduced was to make it so that employers would not discriminate against female employees because they may get pregnant and take time off. Now any man of any age has the legal right to take up to 50 weeks off and the employer cannot refuse. It removes the potential negative of employing a female. In the UK They have to have good reason to strip search you. If you were arrested for an action unrelated to drugs they are not allowed to (they are banned from) strip search you. If you are arrested for a drug offence, they may strip search you if they think you are hiding something. They do not have to arrest you to question you. They arrest you to get a DNA sample! They arrest you because they can. An allegation is grounds for an arrest now . It never use to be. This is a major issue for men. What would help is if the media and advertisers treated men and women the same when it comes to portraying violence. That is about it. In France and Germany the state pays women huge amounts to have children. The problem is that the marriage rate is falling in both countries and women do not want to be single mums. Just paying women to have children is not enough. In Germany when a woman has a child she gets 85% of her previous monthly salary for 13 months and subsidised child care if she wants to back to work. I do see your point but in the UK there was a different debate. The main beneficiaries of the HPV vaccine are women hugely, something like 99%. The argument in the UK was that we should not be vaccinating boys for the benefit of another gender, there is a risk to all vaccines and the benefit to males is extremely slight. It would not be ethical to vaccinate boys when females are the main group that benefits.
