To play devil's advocate, aren't there situations where you want them to know you've got money? Money and status are going to increase your SMV, and if you keep those hidden, you're left with only your looks/actions. Love it. I totally empathize. That dude lion got home from work, pulled into the driveway, and was like, "What the fuck is this shit?! My dinner is supposed to be ready, but those punk ass hyenas from down the block are eating MY food? It's on like Donkey Kong." The hyenas knew he wasn't screwing around, also. It's not just that they crave status, but it must be subjective status versus their friends/social group. Take a woman and marry her to a rich plastic surgeon. She can be living in a huge mansion, driving a Porsche, wearing designer everything, and still be miserable. She will compare herself to the friends and neighbors, rather than the average woman on the street. Even if she's made it to the top 1% of all women's situations, she must be better than her friends.

Part of it was attention-whoring on the part of the main "journalists". Another part was manufactured anger generated to drive web page traffic and increase ad revenue. Mad? In my mind, the distinction is eating "clean". Less processed foods, fewer ingredients, avoiding frozen/canned/fast foods. Eating a pan full of beef and veggies you cooked yourself vs. eating a quarter pounder with cheese? I feel much better with the former, and like ass with the latter.
